[…]Michael Stürzenberger was sentenced to six months in prison for criticizing Islam. The outspoken activist vowed to appeal and to keep fighting.

[…]On August 20, unknown assailants threw objects at Stürzenberger in the industrial town of Gladbeck, hitting a handicapped woman on the head. When Stürzenberger gave chase, he was also hit on the head by a thrown object and knocked down.

  2. the gateway pundit – Bill Gates Posts Creepy Video Urging Public To Reduce Childhood Death With More Vaccines: ‘Why Do Children Die?’

[…]Gates published another creepy video on Tuesday touting vaccine efficacy.

In the video, which is featured in his blog post “Why Do Children Die,” the software salesman claims the cause of childhood death is the “toughest question” he has ever had to answer and urges the public to vaccinate “all the children in the world.”

“The death of a child is a tragedy — for the family, for the world,” Gates proclaims.

[…]Gates’ latest promotion of vaccines comes days after the Bombay High Court requested a response from the billionaire eugenicist to allegations leveled by an Indian man whose daughter died after getting “vaccinated” with Covishield, a Covid injection developed and manufactured by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Serum Institute of India.

The plaintiff, Dilip, Lunwat, claims his daughter Snehal took the Covisheild injections to keep her job. She then developed severe headaches and began vomiting until she was hospitalized when doctors discovered bleeding in her brain. Within days, she ultimately died from complications caused by the shot.

Bill GATES – Why do children die?

[…]I read everything about global health that I could find, and I spoke to as many experts as I could. I learned that researchers define child mortality as the death of anyone under the age of 5. They use that age because the first five years are the riskiest time of childhood, when kids are the most vulnerable.

    • Gates-funded ‘green revolution’ in Africa has failed, critics say

When philanthropists spend vast sums of money on a project, jubilation and high expectations ensue. But money doesn’t necessarily produce results.

A case study, according to critics, is the push for a “green revolution” in Africa, which has spent $1 billion to date, much of it from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

As an annual African farming summit takes place this week in Rwanda, activists, farmers and faith leaders from Seattle to Nairobi are calling on the Gates Foundation and other funders to stop supporting an effort they say has failed to deliver on promises to radically reduce hunger and increase farmer productivity and income.

Worse, critics say the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, founded in 2006 with money from the Gates and Rockefeller foundations, has promoted an industrial model of agriculture that poisons soils with chemicals and encourages farmers to go into debt by buying expensive seeds, fertilizers and pesticides.

As a result of that debt, some farmers have had to sell their land or household goods like stoves and TVs, said Celestine Otieno and Anne Maina, both active with organizations in Kenya advocating for ecologically friendly practices.

“I think it’s the second phase of colonization,” Otieno said.

A donor-funded evaluation last December offered gentler criticism, concluding the alliance had achieved mixed success over the past five years, with increased corn yields in half the countries it examined.

Most notably, though, it found “AGRA did not meet its headline goal of increased incomes and food security.”

Peter Little, director of the global development program at Emory University, puts it another way: “I don’t think it’s come close to what it promised to do.”

The criticism, while contested by AGRA and Gates Foundation leaders, has clearly stung. This week, AGRA is launching a rebranding that drops the term “green revolution” from the organization’s name, to be known from now on by its acronym only.

“We have been many times misunderstood,” AGRA President Agnes Kalibata said during a break from the summit, which this week also removed the words “green revolution” from its name.

The term hearkens back to a movement that began decades ago and was carried out most strikingly in India. Using chemical treatments and new technologies like high-yielding seeds, the initiative is credited with dramatically improving agricultural productivity and reducing hunger — but also leading to protests and even suicides by indebted farmers.

The new green revolution was intended to avoid mistakes of the past and be uniquely African, Kalibata said. AGRA, for instance, has tried to prevent overuse of one-size-fits-all fertilizers by promoting new ways to analyze soil and target exactly what type and amount of fertilizer it needs.

Kalibata, a former Rwandan agriculture minister, also credits her organization with some “huge successes,” including helping more than 800 Africans get master’s and doctorate degrees in agriculture.

Still, she and Enock Chikava, interim director of the Gates Foundation’s agricultural development team, admit the effort has fallen short of its goals. The most important reason, they say, is CLIMATE CHANGE.

“In Africa today, the majority of counties are already living in a 1-degree warmer world,” said Chikava, who grew up on his mother’s small farm in Zimbabwe. Back-to-back seasons of drought have brutalized farms that invariably lack access to irrigation.

AGRA is trying to adapt, in part by promoting drought-tolerant seeds and planting trees that keep moisture in the ground. The organization is about to embark on a new five-year strategy that stresses environmentalism and listening more intently to farmers’ needs.

Chikava said the Gates Foundation, which is contributing $200 million over the next five years, is also insisting on having regular evaluations that will be made public.

In some ways, though, he appears to be satisfied with AGRA’s path and frustrated with critics’ demands, such as avoiding chemical fertilizers — implying, in his view, that African farmers shouldn’t have options available to their peers elsewhere.

This much is true: Critics want a complete overhaul.

Heather Day, co-founder and executive director of the Seattle-based Community Alliance for Global Justice, a group that came out of the World Trade Organization protests here in 1999, said she knew AGRA’s model was flawed when she heard a Gates Foundation staffer talk about a green revolution in the movement’s early days.

“It was something that just immediately raised alarm,” said Day, who was familiar with the original green revolution’s track record.

She said she was shocked the Gates Foundation was promoting a similar model.

  3. CBC – Chrystia Freeland has a ‘legitimate shot’ at top NATO job, expert says

NATO sources say the deputy PM is in the ‘middle of the pack’ of strong candidates — if she wants the job

[…]At least four different sources — in Ottawa, Washington and Brussels, where NATO is headquartered — say Freeland’s name has been tossed around for several months in international defence and security circles as a potential successor to the current secretary general, former Norwegian prime minister Jens Stoltenberg, who has been in the job since 2014.

[…]”It seems there is some momentum for a woman to be the next [secretary general].”

[…]”Having a Canadian [secretary general] might be welcome in terms of supercharging Canada’s involvement in the alliance,” said Chris Skaluba of the Washington-based think-tank the Atlantic Council.

“She’s broadly well thought-of in European and trans-Atlantic security circles. I think that gives her a legitimate shot.”

[…]But in order to secure her candidacy, both her Prime Minister Justin Trudeau would have to work the international diplomatic circuit — likely behind the scenes — and expend political capital.

Freeland’s name has also swirled as a possible replacement as head of the Liberal Party of Canada when Trudeau eventually steps down

[…]Current NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s term was set to end at the end of the month but was extended by one year last March due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February.

That means that his replacement would only start in October 2023, over one year from now.

[…]Freeland’s name has also swirled as a possible replacement as head of the Liberal Party of Canada when Trudeau eventually steps down, though the prime minister has said he intends to run again in the next federal election.

[…]According to NATO’s website, the secretary general position has “traditionally” been held by a senior European politician that is chosen by consensus decision by its 30 member states. A Canadian has never held the role.

  4. SEPTEMBER 08 2022 – US approves $675 million in additional weapons for Ukraine

U.S. President Joe Biden approved an additional $675 million weapons package for Ukraine, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Thursday (September 8), as ministers met to discuss how to give Kyiv long-term support in countering Russia’s invasion.

Austin, who was speaking at the start of a meeting of dozens of defense ministers at Ramstein air base in Germany, said the gathering would discuss how countries can work together to train Ukrainian forces and improve their own defense industrial bases for the long-haul.

“This contact group needs to position itself to sustain Ukraine’s brave defenders for the long haul,” Austin said, “that means a continued and determined flow of capability now.”

Washington has already provided more than $10 billion in military assistance to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s government since Russian troops invaded on Feb. 24.

The latest U.S. package will include more ammunitions, humvees and anti-tank systems.

The six-month-old conflict has killed thousands and reduced Ukrainian cities to rubble. In recent weeks fears have grown over a potential disaster at Zaporizhzhia, Europe’s biggest nuclear power plant.

    • DEUTSCHE PRAVDA – US approves more weapons for Ukraine as defense leaders meet in Germany

At the start of a meeting of dozens of defense ministers at Ramstein air base in Germany, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the defense package would include precision-guided GMLRS rockets, 105mm howitzers, artillery munitions, Humvees, armored ambulances, anti-tank systems and small firearms.

Austin said the US was committed to equipping and training Ukrainian armed forces “for the long haul.”

“The face of the war is changing and so is the mission of this contact group,” he added.

    • VoA – US Secretary of State Blinken Arrives in Kiev

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken made an unscheduled visit to Kiev on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Ukraine on a previously unannounced trip to show Washington’s continuing support for Kiev, six months after Russia invaded the country.

Blinken Thursday announced $2.6 billion in assistance for Ukraine and 18 other countries in the region “most potentially at risk for future Russian aggression.”

“It’s such a consequential moment for Ukraine” as the country recently marked its Independence Day and as the Ukrainians people are now “focused on the counteroffensive” against Russia’s military aggression, a senior State Department official said.

Blinken’s trip to Kiev also comes ahead of the annual U.N. General Assembly, where world leaders are set to gather for what U.S. officials said is an occasion to reaffirm the principles in the U.N. Charter about sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“We are focused on helping ensure that Ukraine prevails in this war and we’re providing the security assistance so that when we get to the day where we move to a negotiated settlement, Ukraine is in the strongest possible position,” the senior official said.

  5. Bill Ramsey enjoyed the beautiful late summer day. His conference was over. Now he had the day to play tourist before flying back home in the evening. Walking past the Peace Tower on Wellington Street, the same place where the famous truckers’ convoy had taken place the previous winter, he heard a voice.
“Hey there, brother, can you spare the time?”
The voice came from a little man sitting on the sidewalk, his back resting against the long stone wall. He had a long, greying beard. His outstretched hand was filthy, as was his overcoat.
“The time? Ramsey replied looking down, a little surprised. “You’re begging for the time?”
“I prefer to say asking,” replied the man.
“But your hand is out. Am I supposed to drop the time into your hand?”
“Not literally, of course. It’s only for the theater of it,” said the beggar as he then extended his other hand, too. Ramsey noticed something odd.
“Why are you wearing two wristwatches? You’re begging for the time while you’re wearing two wristwatches? I’d say you’re quite well off.”
“I prefer asking, like I said. Actually, I’m here in protest.”
    “Protest over what?”
“The time. Now, what time have you got?” Ramsey glanced at his watch.
    “Four-ten.”
    “Excellent. Welcome to Ottawa.”
“How do you know I’m from out of town?”
“Because you know the correct time. I also know you’re not a cop, and likely not a civil servant or a doctor.”
“Well. you’re right. I’m none of those. But what has it got to do with the time?”
“Look up. Look at the Peace Tower.” Ramsey looked up. The famous building loomed in the distance against the deep blue sky. There comes a day in autumn when the light changes, he thought. The world becomes more vivid. “The clock. What does the clock say?”
“Oh, right, it says twelve noon, or midnight. Is it stuck?”
“No. That’s the official time. That’s what I’m here to protest.”
    “So why the two wristwatches?”
“In case a cop comes by to ask. I have one to show him HIS time.”
“–And if you tell the real time what happens?”
“It gets tricky. Some people go to jail, or lose their jobs.”
“Well, you have a nice day,” said the tourist Bill Ramsey as he continued on. Funny the people you meet, he thought.
“Does anybody really know what time it is?” The beggar called out after him. “Does anybody really care?”

  6. BBC – Italy elections: Who’s who and how the vote works

For the first time since World War Two, Italy’s next leader could come from the far right.

Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party is leading the polls ahead of 25 September elections – and if she wins, she will look to form a right-wing government.

Two months after the collapse of Mario Draghi’s unity government, here’s what you need to know about who are the main challengers and how Italy’s revamped elections work.

    Giorgia Meloni

Four years ago, her party attracted little more than 4% of the vote in the last general election and yet she’s now is in pole position to win, with a possible quarter of the vote. Backed by two other parties, the League and Forza Italia, polls suggest she is heading for a majority coalition in Italy’s two houses of parliament.

Giorgia Meloni, 45, was the only major party leader who refused to go into popular technocrat Mario Draghi’s broad-based coalition, so she was the only big opposition leader when it collapsed in July.

She formed Brothers of Italy (Fratelli d’Italia) in 2012, four years after becoming Italy’s youngest-ever minister under Silvio Berlusconi in 2008.

As a teenager, she joined the youth wing of Italy’s neo-fascist movement, formed after the war by supporters of late dictator Benito Mussolini. In her 2021 book, I Am Giorgia, she stresses she is not a fascist, but she identifies with Mussolini’s heirs: “I have taken up the baton of a 70-year-long history.”

Unlike her right-wing allies, she has no time for Russia’s Vladimir Putin and is pro-Nato and pro-Ukraine, even though many voters on the right are lukewarm on sanctions. Her alliance wants to renegotiate Italy’s massive EU Covid recovery plan and wants Italy’s president to be elected by popular vote. To change the constitution, she would need a two-thirds majority in parliament.

She has campaigned against LGBT rights, wants a naval blockade of Libya and has warned repeatedly against Muslim migrants. She also seeks a “different Italian stance” towards the EU’s executive body. “That does not mean that we want to destroy Europe, that we want to leave Europe, that we want to do crazy things,” she says.

    Enrico Letta
If Giorgia Meloni is to be beaten, it will require a big showing from the likely runner-up – the centre-left Democratic Party (PD) of Enrico Letta. But his hopes of forming a strong, rival alliance with an array of smaller parties suffered a blow when the centrist pro-European Azione (Action) party pulled out, objecting to two of his other partners, the Italian Left and Green Europe.
Enrico Letta, 56, was prime minister for 10 months in 2013-14 and is no stranger to Italy’s cut-throat politics. He led a coalition with Silvio Berlusconi’s Forza Italia and was ultimately brought down by a rival in his own party, Matteo Renzi.

A big supporter of Mario Draghi’s government, Mr Letta said Italians would punish those who brought him down in July, pointing the finger squarely at the populist Five Star Movement under Giuseppe Conte. Mr Letta has found common cause with former Five Star leader Luigi di Maio, who fell out with Mr Conte and formed a new, centrist party called Civic Commitment (Impegno Civico).

The centre-left leader’s main goal is to stop the hard right taking power in Italy. He wants investment in renewable energy and proposes an eight-point plan for education under the banner “knowledge is power”. The PD wants to make it easier to let the children of immigrants obtain citizenship, combat anti-LGBT discrimination and legalise gay marriage.

    Italy’s new election system

The winning alliance will need a majority in both houses of parliament, the Chamber of Deputies and Senate, and Italians are voting for both of them.

New rules mean parliament has shrunk by a third, so there will now be 400 deputies in the Chamber, instead of up to 630 MPs, and 200 Senators instead of 315.

Italy has a hybrid voting system, in which three-eighths (about 36%) of members are elected in a first-past-the-post vote in single-member constituencies. The rest are elected by proportional representation according to party lists of candidates, with seats reserved for voters abroad.

Voters need to be 18 and get one vote for the Chamber and one for the Senate. Parties have to secure at least 3% of the vote to get in, with Italy divided into 27 electoral districts.

  8. Anti-Defamation League head secures bodyguard due to threats – interview

When Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt arrived at the 125th anniversary celebrations of the World Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland, last week, he was followed by a bodyguard the whole time.

“I get death threats… That’s the reason that that guy is sitting over there,” he said, pointing at his bodyguard, who easily blended in with the audience.

Asked if this new security detail was related to the fact that he was in Europe, Greenblatt said he has security everywhere he goes, except for Israel. “Things have really ratcheted up in the past several months,” he said.

One of the reasons for the extra security around Greenblatt, and ADL institutions in general, is directly related to BDS Mapping Project. What is the BDS Mapping Project?

The BDS Mapping Project is an interactive map that charted Jewish and Zionist institutions in Boston and framed them as “structurally tied” to US media, police and government. The map ties Zionism to the “harms” of US imperialism, ableism, ecological harm, gentrification, the prison-industrial complex and more.…

“The Mapping Project is an initiative put together by a collection of anonymous activists for the sole purpose of intimidating, marginalizing and really terrorizing the Jewish community in trying to create an approach which encourages and really enforces what I’ll call anti-normalization, which is not about Zionism nor about Israel. It’s about Jews,” Greenblatt said.

    https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/antisemitism/article-716428

Hah! This is another Court Jew from 0bama’s kennel of lapdogs like those at The Atlantic.

But the ADL went bad a generation ago. The champion of causes inimical to Jewish identity and Zionism. Formerly defending neo-nazis, now BLM and Islamist incitement.

    • Jonathan Tobin:
After the ADL gets caught spreading woke ideology, Greenblatt must go

Under its current leader, ADL discarded nonpartisanship. But the inclusion of critical race theory in the curricula it gives schools is not an isolated blunder.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, it’s just a mistake. A Fox News Digital exposé showed that the curricula they hand out to schools as part of their anti-hate programs included critical race theory (CRT) teachings about “white privilege,” the need to address the problems of “whiteness,” praise for the anti-Semitic Women’s March group and support for the idea of contemporary Americans paying reparations to those whose ancestors were enslaved.

Faced with hard evidence that its lucrative “No Place for Hate” initiatives are immersed in the woke leftist ideas that are actually legitimizing racialist attitudes and granting a permission slip for anti-Semitism, the ADL had no choice but to say that the Fox News report was accurate and that “there is content among our curricular materials that is misaligned with ADL’s values and strategy.”

Yet rather than admit that the inclusion of such ideas in the material they are pushing on schools reflected a broader problem in the group’s work, the ADL still insisted: “We do not teach critical race theory. Period.” That’s a blatantly dishonest and even illogical claim since the material in their curricula shows that is exactly what they’re doing.

The upshot of this weasel-worded non-apology is that the group founded to defend the Jewish people against anti-Semitism is trying to claim that this is all somehow a misunderstanding. They want their donors, who were under the impression that the ADL was belatedly confronting left-wing anti-Semitism, to believe that the organization isn’t actually part of the problem rather than the solution.

But no one should be buying this disingenuous line of defense.

  10. ASB Military News 11:19

One thing that has confused us, and not just us as we’re finding out with reports from actual Russian Armed Forces troops — is why the Russian Armed Forces command is allowing trains, bridges and other means to exist for the sole purpose of supplying Ukrainian troops.

It can be said with absolute certainty that Russia has the capability to destroy railways, bridges and whatever else they wish to destroy, as we’ve seen many, many times. Russia was capable enough to hit a moving train and flatten it a few weeks ago.. But as soon as intense battles break out in a concentrated area, often times, there’s only one way to supply the Ukrainian groups — These supply routes are not being targeted.

Nobody understands this decision, not even people in the Russian Armed Forces.

Ukraine strikes Russian Armed Forces supply routes are first opportunity, as any army would. But for some reason, Russia let’s their enemies comfortably get their supplies.

This is what you call a mindf*ck, if we’ve ever seen one.

That’s one example of the delicate criticism seeping out about the restraint and parsimonious management of the Special Military Operation. I mentioned it yesterday:

    • One possible explanation is that Russia is planning a Blitz and capturing and using the bridges.

      • Just throwing away lives of poorly trained, poorly armed Territorial Militias.

The largest nuclear power plant in Europe is in the Russian-majority region. That’s become Prez Z’s target to provoke WW3. Now under constant UAF fire with HIMARs marked *USA*, everything’s precarious around the site.

We read nothing about these monstrous attacks except transparent lies no one seems to question. Scorched earth this time around could be *exponential Chernobyl*.

NATO is empowering Poland and the Baltics to act out revenge. Grandchildren of prominent, REAL Nazis – like Chrystia Freeland and Ursula von der Leyen – are reckless and unchecked. Blessed by the WEF.

Russian-speaking Ukrainians are obviously being used as martyrs. Putin’s on a charm offensive with the world NOT under the Western spell.

Places like India and Singapore are better informed. They see irrational hatred on display. Plus greed and hypocrisy: grain shipments designated for the poorest nations are being diverted to Europe instead.

Our enemies are eating it up. Putin, Xi, and the Twisted Ragheads are really having fun. Plus our ally, the Filthy Turk and much of the Sunni Arab world betrayed by 0biden.

      • Dima shows on the map how you might be right. The bridges across the river system under heaviest pressure right now aren’t as hard to knock out as elsewhere.

Even if you can’t see the map, check the comments. Good discussion points along those lines.

        • Good and bad points, main question is, “where is the 3rd Army?”

I may be wrong but this smells like a Blitz in the near future.

          • Hope so. Mongol tactics aren’t for nail biters, we just have to wait and see.

Putin doesn’t intend to fall into another Afghanistan-style infinite sink. A trap set by a pig like the U.S. Sec. of Defense, degenerates like Bojo, or despicable artifacts like Von der Leyen. Elites who sneer at a street kid from St. Petersburg, or smirk at outsiders like PT or Mr. Orban.

Whose economy will bleed out first?

But he’s getting too much of a kick out of this. War games in the Far East with 50,000 professional soldiers and state of the art weapons?

He really, truly might be ready to “sacrifice” the ethnic Russians of Ukraine to toss the table.

            • Or maybe the prospect of Europe’s possible economic collapse gives him, in his mind, the opportunity to blitz under what will be a crippled enemy. A mid-winter Europe fighting its own population won’t have much stomach for the Ukraine.

APRIL 2021 – Late nurse Megi Bakradze’s case: Health workers charged

The Office of the Prosecutor General of Georgia has submitted formal charges against Akhaltsikhe Imedi Clinic doctors, known only as B.L. and V.I., as well as the nurse, identified as T.G. They have been accused of providing investigators with false information.

The statement by the Office says that the investigation of the case is underway under Part 1 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisaging criminal negligence offenses.

According to the statement, following vaccination at the Akhaltsikhe Imedi Clinic, nurse Megi Bakradze’s health condition deteriorated, and after provided with medical assistance, she was transported to Tbilisi’s First University Clinic, where she died on 19 March.

Doctors B.L. and V.I. and nurse T.G. were questioned for further details, and they obstructed the investigation by giving false testimony to hide the fact that doctor V.I. was not with the patients when she was provided with the first aid. Following V.I.’s testimony, after late Megi Bakradze’s medical state worsened, the patient was provided with a due medical assistant. Doctor B.L. and nurse T.G. also verified the testimony as true. However, it was determined later that V.I. has not employed any medicine to improve the patient’s health condition after the vaccination, and, moreover, the doctor was not even present in the room.

The statement goes on to say that charges against doctors B.L and V.I., as well as nurse T.G., have already been pressed. They have pleaded guilty.

Megi Bakradze, a young nurse, 27, slipped into a coma after an AstraZeneca jab in the Akhaltsikhe municipality.

The nurse was taken to the First University clinic, Tbilisi, where she died.

Investigators are looking into her death.

      • Thank you EB, I spoke with the Queen in 1973 for 25 minutes when she visited Canada. She was warm, sincere and displayed a wonderful sense of humour. I loved her.

        • That’s wonderful ET that you spent time with the Queen. You can tell, that all that you said about the Queen is true. I’m happy that her final resting place was her beloved Scotland. It is a sad day for us and the end of an era.

(Richard: Out here in flyover country there are a lot of stores that sell hunting and fishing gear along with groceries, farm equipment, feed and other high priced items. The wanna be Dictators want to drive them out of the weapons business. That will make it easier to target the gun stores.)
