Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  17. Former President Donald Trump is hitting back and asking the Supreme Court to step in and stop the National Archives from handing White House documents to the House Select Committee on January 6.

    This comes weeks after the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ordered the National Archives to give the committee the requested documents, The Daily Mail reported.

    It now puts the constitutional challenge before the high court, where Trump nominated three of the nine sitting justices and represents a last-ditch effort to shield the documents from the committee that has interviewed hundreds of witnesses in its effort to reconstruct the events leading up to the Capitol riot.

    Earlier this month, a three-judge panel – two judges appointed by Barack Obama and one by Biden – unanimously upheld a lower court’s ruling denying Trump a preliminary injunction to stop the release of records.

    Trump’s lawyers filed an emergency appeal to meet a deadline imposed by the lower court.

    The January 6th Committee has sought records, logs, photographs, and calendars as it probes Trump’s election overturn effort and the Capitol riot on the day Congress met to count the electoral votes that made Biden president.

    Attorneys for Trump “both the Constitution and the Presidential Records Act give former Presidents a clear right to protect their confidential records from premature dissemination. This case presents a clear threat to that right.”

    And they argued that the Appeals Court ruling was “troubling,” and they said that it “lacks any meaningful or objective limiting principle. In an increasingly partisan political climate, such records requests will become the norm regardless of what party is in power.”

    Because President Joe Biden did not protect the documents with executive privilege the appeals court decided that the former president could not.

    The company, Mitto AG, was used by Twitter to send text messages on its behalf, including security codes used for two-factor authentication (2FA). Twitter says that it is “transitioning” away from the company’s services, but appears not to have completely ceased using them as yet.

  28. A South Korean diplomat was punched on a New York City street Wednesday night by a random attacker who fled the scene, officials said.

    The assault unfolded near the corner of East 35th Street and Fifth Avenue as the 53-year-old diplomat was walking with a friend at 8:10 p.m., according to the New York City Police Department.

    The attacker didn’t say anything while punching the Korean official, who suffered a broken nose, police said. The victim even showed his South Korean diplomatic ID to the attacker, who fled toward Sixth Avenue.

      The ADL is offering a reward of up to $7,500 for information surrounding two recent assaults against Chassidim in Williamsburg. Two days ago, Scott Richman, the ADL regional director for NY/NJ, said, “Attacks against visibly identifiable Jews here in New York and New Jersey have become practically a weekly occurrence.”

      The reward seems an admirable gesture. However, anyone who has been following the political trajectory of the ADL will understand why such an offer is not only too little too late but two-faced as well….

      The ADL had long defined racism as: “the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics.”

      But in the throes of the BLM race riots in the summer of 2020, the ADL revised its definition of racism to read: “The marginalization and/or oppression of people of color based on a socially constructed racial hierarchy that privileges white people.”

      But the head of an organization that supports Critical Race Theory could not scold Goldberg for denying racism in the Holocaust if his own organization’s definition is a claim to the contrary.

      So last Friday, the ADL made another U-turn and revised the definition yet again. It now says: “Racism occurs when individuals or institutions show more favorable evaluation or treatment of an individual or group based on race or ethnicity.”

      Just to stay on the safe side, the ADL asserted that this new definition is only an “interim” one. Allowing for another day, another interpretation….

      There is a Talmudic dictum that states, “Ein kateigor na’aseh saneigor”, (“a prosecutor cannot become a defender”).

      The ADL’s accusations of white oppression and systemic racism have contributed to soft on crime laws that dominate left-run cities and cause rampant crime. In not such an uncircuitous route, they have enabled the “weekly” anti-Semitic attacks that they now condemn….

    Research by radio program Argos, the Danish public broadcaster DR and the Norwegian NRK has revealed that the anti-Iranian satellite channel Ahwazna TV in Rijswijk has been receiving money from the Saudi Arabian intelligence service.
    The Danish-led wing of the Iranian opposition group, Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz (ASMLA), was discovered to have received money to finance its organization in Europe and its armed branch in Iran. The group’s aim is to lift up the oppressed Arab minority in the Iranian region of Khuzestan, and push for independence.
    ASMLA leader Habib Jabor, alongside two others, was found guilty of spying and financing terrorism in Iran last week, cooperating with the Saudi intelligence service using the name MS32. Argos also broke the story that the group also spied on a number of people in the Netherlands.
    This is not the first time Ahwazna TV has made headlines; last autumn another ASMLA member was convicted in Rotterdam. Eisa S., an Iranian refugee living in Delft, was jailed for four years for working alongside a Danish ASMLA leader to finance an attack in Iran. The Dutch domestic intelligence service, AIVD, intercepted chat messages allegedly between S. and the three people arrested in Denmark. The chats took place on the television channel’s WhatsApp and Telegram accounts, and involved discussions of attacks on checkpoints, police stations, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
    The channel Ahwazna TV has been based in Rijswijk since 2017. According to police documents from DR in collaboration with Argos and NRK, the ASMLA put around 1.2 million euros into their campaigns through the Dutch channel between 2017-2019. The Danish court assumed that ASMLA received rewards in the form of “significant sums” from the Saudis in response to their anti-Iranian messages spread through channels such as Ahwazna TV.
    The broadcaster denied the allegations, and said they were targeted as part of a smear campaign organized by Iran. The broadcaster said they never promoted terrorism, according to Argos. They claim they were just reporting on the situation in Iran as it unfolded, saying, “There are daily crimes against the Arabs, the native people of Ahwaz, by the Iranian regime.”
    Ahwazna TV also disputes that they received 1.2 million euros because they use volunteers and second-hand equipment to operate. Broadcasts from the Netherlands have been suspended, and in Denmark, Ahwazna TV has been banned altogether for two years due to its promotion of terrorism.
    Between 2014 and 2015, ASMLA asked for and was granted further funding from Saudi Arabia for their demonstrations in Europe against Iran. They claimed the money was needed for plane tickets, hotels, buses, and allowances for journalists. Police documents show that costs for these demonstrations were as high as 190,000 euros for one demonstration in The Hague, Argos reported.
    Iranian officials have consistently asked the Dutch and Danish governments to intervene in the ASMLA and Saudi Arabia terrorism operations. Argos journalists said they already knew in 2019 that Iranian spies were very interested in Ahwazna TV and Eisa S.

    OTTAWA — The Ontario government says it has successfully petitioned a court to freeze access to millions of dollars donated through online fundraising platform GiveSendGo to the truckers convoy protesting COVID-19 restrictions in Ottawa and at several border crossings.

    A spokeswoman for Premier Doug Ford says Ontario’s attorney general brought the application to the Superior Court of Justice seeking an order that would prohibit anyone from distributing donations made through the website’s “Freedom Convoy 2022” and “Adopt-a-Trucker” campaign pages.

    Spokeswoman Ivana Yelich says an order binding “any and all parties with possession or control over these donations” was issued today.

    Hundreds of semi-trucks rolled into downtown Ottawa two weeks ago to protest COVID-19 vaccine mandates and health restrictions and now trucks are also blockading border crossings in Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario.

    Donors initially raised more than $10 million through GoFundMe, which announced last Friday it was pulling the plug on the campaign and that the money would be refunded.

    Convoy organizers quickly set up a new campaign on Christian fundraising site GiveSendGo, which had raised US$8.2 million by today.

  36. Why Do Locusts Form Devastating Swarms?

    Israeli researchers may have come closer to explaining the “mystery” of a plague that dates back to biblical times.

    Tel Aviv University scientists developed a theory to explain why individual, harmless locusts radically change their behavior when they aggregate, forming huge swarms and devastating millions of hectares of land worldwide.

    Led by Prof. Amir Ayali from TAU’s School of Zoology, the study focused on the microbiome – all of the bacteria, viruses, and fungi that live in and on the body – and found that when a solitary locust joins a group, the bacterial composition of its gut undergoes a distinct transformation.

    “The most significant change was observed in bacteria called Weissella, almost completely absent from the microbiome of solitary locusts, which became dominant soon after their hosts joined the group…”

    For the purpose of the study, which was published late January in the peer-reviewed journal Environmental Microbiology, the researchers reviewed the gut microbiomes of lab-raised desert locusts. They found a notable difference when individual, solitary-reared insects joined a group of some 200 locusts….

    “[S]warming may be advantageous to the altered microbiome’s dominant bacterial species, which spreads by infecting large numbers of locusts….
    “In other words, the bacteria may in some way encourage their hosts to change their behavior and become more ‘sociable.’”
