Reader’s Links for February 7, 2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • I’m thinking Antifa. Very convenient timing.
Here, at Vlad or maybe it was CTH, earlier when the protests started, there was mention of a possibility of government-friendly troublemakers.

    • “…Certain protesters outside became…with tenants…”.

Those trucker protesters don’t think enough about the local tenants to bother with them. That’s a soyboy Antifa, most assuredly.

The communist-styled assassination of the characters of all these good people has begun, initiated by Dear Leader, Mayor Watson, and the police Chief.

    • You said:
“Populations that are not enslaved by their secret police and military. Islam, Communism and Brokenism.”

I tried to reply, but the message was repeatedly blocked. Let’s see if it’ll go through now.

  1. I like the part where the “counter-protester” gets hit by the truck. Lol.
Even Robert DeNiro can act better.

Our politicians, including our police Chief, are behaving like hysterical non-binaries. Not that there is anything wrong with hysterical non-binaries–we are all unique snowflakes–but they are strangling the rule of law and their own reputations each time they speak.

  2. israel national news –‘80% of serious COVID cases are fully vaccinated’ says Ichilov hospital director

Vaccine has “no significance regarding severe illness,” says Prof. Yaakov Jerris.

Are Israeli hospitals really overloaded with unvaccinated COVID patients? According to Prof. Yaakov Jerris, director of Ichilov Hospital’s coronavirus ward, the situation is completely opposite.

“Right now, most of our severe cases are vaccinated,” Jerris told Channel 13 News. “They had at least three injections. Between seventy and eighty percent of the serious cases are vaccinated. So, the vaccine has no significance regarding severe illness, which is why just twenty to twenty-five percent of our patients are unvaccinated.”

Jerris also revealed some of the confusion in reporting cases. Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Sunday, he told ministers, “Defining a serious patient is problematic. For example, a patient with a chronic lung disease always had a low level of oxygen, but now he has a positive coronavirus test result which technically makes him a ‘serious coronavirus patient,’ but that’s not accurate. The patient is only in a difficult condition because he has a serious underlying illness.”

Celebrations over Senegalese football team’s victory over Egypt turned VIOLENT in Paris as local police fired tear gas at ecstatic fans.

    • DEUTSCHE PRAVDA – Austria’s COVID-vaccine mandate: Can it be enforced?
Austria has become the first European country to mandate coronavirus vaccination for all adults. It is also the first country that will now have to enforce a vaccination mandate. Starting next month, Austrian police will carry out random spot-checks to see whether people can produce proof of vaccination. Those who can’t face fines of 600 euros or more.

Vienna set up mobile vaccination buses to increase that number. The willingness to get a jab is stagnant, despite the new bill.

Even before the controversial bill was passed, security was tight at vaccination centers.

No other topic polarizes Austrians as much as mandatory vaccination. Those who administer the vaccines can do so only when security is nearby. There is concern about hostile outbursts by anti-vaxxers.

Tens of thousands of them have been taking to the streets almost every weekend across the country to protest against COVID measures. They are a minority.

But Werner Reisinger, who is researching radicalism, says, the protests should not be underestimated.

He says the Austrian government failed to reach this crowd, especially when its declaration last summer that the COVID crisis was over was followed by a political crisis of its own.

Austria expects an avalanche of lawsuits by those unwilling to pay possible fines starting at 600 euros and to be enforced from mid-March.

Vienna is focusing on those whose opinion could still be swayed: The undecided. The city put up billboards in various foreign languages in their latest effort to counter misinformation.

  5. zero hedge – CDC Signals Changes To COVID Vaccine Schedule, In Part To Address Heart Inflammation

The CDC told its vaccine advisory panel that it’s planning to adjust guidance for people with compromised immune systems, a group that doesn’t respond as well to vaccines as the general population and is the only population that is advised to get four doses of the Moderna or Pfizer messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines.

Current CDC guidance for the immunocompromised says they should receive three doses of an mRNA vaccine within two months, and a fourth dose at least five months after the third dose.

The revised schedule would recommend the population get that fourth shot as soon as three months after their third one.

For recipients in the population who received the single-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, the updated guidance says they should get a second dose at least 28 days after their vaccination, and a third dose as soon as two months later.

The guidance update applies to people 18 and older who received the Johnson & Johnson or Moderna vaccines, and people 12 and up who received the Pfizer jab.

[…]Dr. Camille Kotton, an infectious disease expert at Massachusetts General Hospital and a panel member, said she had seen many immunocompromised patients in the past two months who “followed all the rules,” including the recommended vaccination schedule, but still became infected with the virus.

The updated guidance “will help dramatically,” she said.

[…]The panel’s COVID-19 vaccines working group, after analyzing altered vaccine schedules from various countries, endorsed an interval of eight weeks between the first and second dose of an mRNA vaccine primary series. The CDC hasn’t yet decided whether to follow the advice.

Dr. Walid Gellad, a professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, called the expected change “a big deal.”

At the same time, it is “troubling” that it “took so long for US policymaking to catch up to other countries,” Gellad, who is not on the panel, wrote on Twitter.

Panel members said they hoped the change would help convince unvaccinated people to get a jab.

“I think that it affords a level of safety and also demonstrates to the public that we are very focused on doing this in the right way,” said Dr. Oliver Brooks, chief medical officer of Watts HealthCare Corp.

  6. global news -COVID-19 vaccine mandates take centre stage in explosive House of Commons exchange

The topic of COVID-19 vaccine mandates took centre stage during Monday’s session of question period in Ottawa’s House of Commons amid ongoing anti-mandate demonstrations.

Interim Conservative Party Leader Candice Bergen demanded answers on when Canadians could see vaccine mandates and other public health guidelines removed.

Meanwhile, Liberal House Leader Mark Holland said the country is “not ready” to strip federal health mandates just yet, in a move to protect those most vulnerable from the pandemic.

“We’re all tired. We’re all frustrated. But we have to ask how we can continue to sacrifice to keep those safe around us, to make sure we follow public health measures and do our best to get out of this pandemic keeping as many people safe and alive as possible,” argued Holland.
