Reader’s Links for January 11, 2022

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • The theme song “Lions” is written and performed by Many Wragg, it has great lyrics if you care to listen.
She will be releasing it soon to coincide with the release of the documentary.

        [Verse 1]
Some said “never” but the never done come
        Yeah, and took our trust
Hate’s been winning, but the lovers ain’t done
        Yeah, not on my watch

Yeah, if ya took all my rights away

This mother-of-all cons is running out of gas. Good doctors are speaking out. Even defenders of their purchases (committed vaxxed), must be starting to see they’ve been had. If you can open someone’s eyes just a little today, the world will be just a little bit better.

    • The next step will be the Avian flu. They are already killing ducks in UK, saying it is unsafe to keep chickens outdoors. One person died, so new round of state of emergency is coming.

    • ==> TOPIC: C-19 Collateral Damage

Friends on websites you trust for political and social commentary started sharing info and links to healthcare advice. The medi-establishment had lost credibility, so we became more open to unconventional sources.

We saw repeated claims for this-or-that substance. Poked around, figured our own research was adequate. Try a little, it’s NATURAL, can’t hurt…

      ……BigPharma = Bad.
      ……”Natural” ~ “Alternative” = Good.
      – – Regular consumption of supplements – even some herbal teas – can lead to permanent organ damage.
      – – If you don’t have a chronic condition, you probably aren’t monitored via routine lab tests.
      – – Since most deleterious changes are asymptomatic, you won’t know till the damage is done.

      I poisoned myself.
Lab tests gave early notice, so I’ll probably be ok.

I’ve learned that cases of slow poisoning from a variety of natural, but unusual substances, in unusual concentration are beginning to show up. Many, many more are anticipated.

And since hospitals are cancelling routine checkups, and they’ve lost our trust anyway…

Add this set of degenerative conditions to the longterm cost of the Pandemic of C-19.

RCMP Releases Guide to Reporting Suspicious Incidents

OTTAWA, ON, Jan. 10, 2022 /CNW/ – The RCMP, in collaboration with various law enforcement partners, has produced a guide to inform and assist Canadians on how and when to report suspicious incidents to police with a view to keeping Canadians safe.

The public is an important ally in the fight against criminal activities. If anyone is concerned that someone is considering, planning, or preparing to commit an act of violence, or is supporting, inciting or counselling others in committing violent acts, they should immediately contact their local police service or the RCMP.

The guide contains information on how to recognize and report behaviours that may be linked to hate crimes, radicalization to violence, extremist propaganda, and/or terrorism mobilization. It provides details about the steps people can and should follow when reporting suspicious incidents to the police.

The goal of the initiative is to enhance the quality of information being shared with police and to encourage the reporting of suspicious incidents and activities. The guide was created by the Federal Policing First Responder Terrorism Awareness Program (FR-TAP).

The RCMP National Security Information Network can be reached by calling 1-800-420-5805 or, by sending an e-mail to RCMP.NSIN-RISN.GRC@rcmp?

Emergencies should always be reported by calling 911.

“In communities across the country, Canadians go about their daily lives and routines. It’s easy to overlook the seemingly ordinary moments that make up our days. During the holiday season when our lives get even busier, I encourage people to be alert and vigilant. By reporting suspicious activities to the police, tragedies can be prevented. When in doubt, report it,” said Commissioner Brenda Lucki.

    Quick facts

Reports of suspicious activity often come from people who felt their observations were minor or not important, but ultimately lead to successful criminal investigations.

According to Statistics Canada, police-reported crime – as measured by the Crime Severity Index (CSI) – decreased by 8% from 79.8% in 2019 to 73.4% in 2020.

The decline in the overall CSI in the first year of the pandemic was mostly the result of decreases in police-reported rates of numerous offences.

Crime prevention initiatives such as the Guide to Reporting Suspicious Incidents to Police are effective and essential instruments for bringing down the crime rate.

RCMP – Reporting suspicious incidents to police

Communities and police working together to prevent violent extremism

Some people hold social or political beliefs that may be considered “extreme” or outside mainstream ideologies. Although some ideas alone may be concerning to those around them, it is when a person uses or actively supports violence to achieve ideological, religious or political goals that the police have a role to play.

Someone committing an act of vandalism that targets a specific group of people can be a troubling indicator of the path they may be following.

Law enforcement has no role in policing the thoughts of Canadians.

Police will, however, take action to prevent crimes if there is evidence that an individual is planning or preparing to commit an act of violence or to actively provide support to others doing so.

The Canadian Charter of Rights and FreedomsFootnote1 guarantees:

    freedom of conscience and religion;
    freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression;
    freedom of peaceful assembly; and
    freedom of association.
However, there are limits on freedoms in the Canadian Criminal Code on matters concerning violence, hate crimes and providing support for terrorism.

    Terms and definitions

    General definitions Footnote2

    Ideologically Motivated Violent Extremism (IMVE)

IMVE is often driven by a range of grievances and ideas from across the ideological spectrum. The resulting worldview consists of a personalized narrative, which centres on an extremist’s willingness to incite, enable and/or mobilize to violence.

Extremists draw inspiration from a variety of sources including books, images, lectures, music, online discussions, videos and conversations. Footnote3

    Politically Motivated Violent Extremism (PMVE)

PMVE narratives call for the use of violence to establish new political systems, or new structures and norms within existing systems. Adherents focus on elements of self?determination or representations rather than concepts of racial or ethnic supremacy.

    Religiously Motivated Violent Extremism (RMVE)

Ideologies that underpin RMVE often cast an individual as part of a spiritual struggle with an uncompromising structure of immorality. RMVE ideologies assure
their adherents that success or salvation — either in a physical or spiritual realm can only be achieved through violence.

    Definitions specific for this guide
The Criminal Code defines terrorism as an act committed “in whole or in part for a political, religious or ideological purpose, objective or cause” with the intention of intimidating the public “…with regard to its security, including its economic security, or compelling a person, a government or a domestic or an international organization to do or to refrain from doing any act.”Footnote4 Terrorism offences include providing support to individuals or groups that are involved with terrorism.

    Hate Crime
A criminal offence committed against a person or property, the motive for which is based in whole or in part upon the victim’s race, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, gender, disability or sexual orientation. Depending on the objectives of the person committing a hate crime, it may also be considered terrorism.Footnote5

    Radicalization to Violence
This is what happens when an individual identifies with and comes to support an extremist ideology in which ‘success’ may only come about through hostile action, including violence, against the ideology’s targets. The police have a role if the individual is planning, preparing, or committing crimes motivated by the ideology.

    Extremist Propaganda

Violent extremist groups use social media, the internet, and other methods to share their message and recruit followers. Their misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda can be found in music videos, online games, videos, and written documents. People of all ages who are regularly consuming this material may move on to interacting with extremists and being brought into an extremist group or ideology and even participate in criminal acts.

This is when an individual starts to act on the ideological motive by taking steps to engage in terrorist activity such as an attack, travel for extremist purposes or facilitating the terrorist activity of someone else. The mobilization process may be revealed by shifts in the pattern of behaviour that a person exhibits in their daily life.

    In case of emergency
Immediately (or as soon as practicable) call 911 or the emergency police line in your area.

If you have concerns that someone is considering, planning, or preparing to commit an act of violence or to help others in committing acts of terrorism, contacting your local police department would be a good first step. The sooner the better, as they may be able to help prevent someone crossing the line into criminal actions.

Do this in the way you feel most comfortable whether it be by phone, visiting your local police station, or using your local police website to report online or explore anonymous reporting options.

You can also request to have an in person conversation with an officer away from the police station. Please bear in mind that not all reports require extensive police involvement. Police agencies have referral contacts with various support resources that may be alternatives to law enforcement measures.

If you prefer to contact the RCMP directly, non?emergency tips can be reported to the RCMP National Security Information Network by phone at 1?800?420?5805 or by email at

Your report may be the one that helps the police in detecting and preventing a violent extremist attack.

Valuable observations and reports of suspicious activity often come from people who have seen or heard only hints of planning or preparations.

This guide seeks to prepare you with some initial steps to share what you know with police

    When sharing information with police
When reporting to police, provide as much detail as you can. In order to better understand the situation, the police may ask further questions. Keep in mind that the police officer is hearing your story for the first time and wants to help you the best way they can. If what you are reporting does not appear to be a criminal matter, but there are other concerns, they may be able to direct or link you to the appropriate community or health resources in your area.

Ultimately the most important thing to consider is,

If you do nothing what could happen if the person’s plans move forward?
Could they end up in jail or hurting other people?
What if you are the only one who has the information that could prevent a tragedy?
    Reporting a non-emergency situation
When reporting a suspicious behaviour or incident to police, do so by explaining what you have seen. Outline what is usual to you, and then explain each observation that was unusual, and why it was of concern (what risks the activity could pose).

Your explanation about each unusual behavior (and your perceived risks or concerns) will help the police officer better understand your perspective and concerns.

Here are some tips to help you be prepared when contacting police. It is a good idea to prepare notes about the events you are concerned about so you do not forget any important details.

    For example:

You may be asked to provide your personal information as in name, address and telephone number
Date(s) and time(s) of the events or behaviours
    Where did it happen?
    Was anybody else around?
    Was it the first time?
Have you talked to anybody else about this?
Once the process is complete, if you have not already asked these questions, these may help you better understand the process.

Is there a file number I should have?
What is the officer’s contact information?
    What are the next steps?
What would be a reasonable time to follow up with the officer?
If anything further happens, what should I do?
    What support services are available?

    Fundamental Freedoms

Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:

    freedom of conscience and religion;
    freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
    freedom of peaceful assembly; and
    freedom of association.

    3. Terms and Definitions:

Since January 2019, various representatives from the Security and Intelligence community have been working together to develop new terminology that more accurately describes the complexity of the violent extremism landscape in Canada. Subsequently, the Government of Canada (GoC) has adopted the term “Ideologically Motivated Violent Extremism” (IMVE) to more accurately describe threat actors who are motivated by a range of grievances and ideas from across Canada’s political and ideological spectrums.

This terminology replaces the traditional terminology of “left wing” and “right wing” extremism. Traditional “Right wing” extremism (e.g. neo?Nazi white supremacists) would now fall under the IMVE category of “Xenophobic, ethno?nationalist and/or racially motivated” violent extremism.

Ideologically motivated criminality and IMVE can be further broken down into the following categories that represent a range of beliefs and/or worldviews from across the “left/right” ideological spectrum that individuals in Canada and abroad have been motivated by:

    – Racially Motivated – driven by a hatred and / or fear of a perceived threatening group such as visible minorities (colloquially referred to as white supremacy);
    – Ethno?nationalist – driven by hatred and/or fear of a perceived threatening group such as ethnic minorities, or immigrants;
    – Anti?authority – includes anti?government, anti?law enforcement, and anarchist;
    – Gender?driven – includes violent misogyny (incel) and anti?LGBTQ2+; and
    – Other grievance driven ideologies – this category can encompass new and emerging ideologically motivated threats such as environment, animal rights, etc.

It is important to know that, where IMVE criminal activity meets the national security threshold, the RCMP will investigate from a national security criminal perspective and, if applicable, use terrorism charges. The RCMP works in coordination with all other police forces of jurisdiction in Canada on these investigations.

    4. “Terrorism” is defined in Section 83.01 of the Criminal Code of Canada and includes various subsections. Please consult The Criminal Code of Canada for the most current wording and offences.

    5. “Hate Crime” is not a single specified offence in the Criminal Code of Canada.

There are three offences that specifically pertain to hate and fall under the Hate?Propaganda section:

    Section 318 – Advocating Genocide.
Section 319 (1) – Public Incitement of Hatred.
Section 319 (2) – Wilful Promotion of Hatred.
In addition, there are other offences the public refers to as “Hate Crimes”; however, police refer to these as “Hate?Motivated” Crimes.
Hate?Motivated or Bias?Motivated Crime: In order for police to lay a Hate?Motivated or Bias?Motivated criminal charge:

A criminal offence must have occurred (e.g. an assault, damage to property, uttering threats etc.).
Hate or Bias toward a victim must have motivated the criminal offence.
Charge consideration in these cases are in consultation with the Crown Prosecutor of appropriate jurisdiction.

The United Nations and aid groups have warned of a pending humanitarian catastrophe in the country of 38 million people.

The United States announced Tuesday that it was giving more than $308 million in humanitarian aid to the Afghan people in an effort to support Afghans facing economic collapse under the new Taliban government.

The White House said the administration will also send one million additional Covid-19 vaccine doses to the country, which is grappling not just with the global pandemic but with widespread hunger in the wake of the militant group’s takeover and the U.S. exit.

The United Nations and aid groups have repeatedly warned of a pending humanitarian catastrophe in the country of 38 million people. On Tuesday they appealed for a record $4.4 billion in aid as an “essential stop gap” to ease the suffering.

The new commitment is on top of some $474 million the U.S. has already contributed to Afghanistan and Afghan refugees in the region since October 2021 and the additional Covid vaccine doses brings the total contributed to Afghans to 4.3 million, Horne said.

(CNN)The US is providing $308 million in humanitarian aid for the people of Afghanistan, the National Security Council announced Tuesday, as well as additional Covid-19 vaccine doses.

The humanitarian assistance and vaccines come months after the US completed its military withdrawal from the country. The Biden administration has also faced pressure to take action as the country faces a dire humanitarian crisis.

“The new humanitarian assistance by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will directly flow through independent humanitarian organizations and help provide lifesaving protection and shelter, essential health care, winterization assistance, emergency food aid, water, sanitation, and hygiene services in response to the growing humanitarian needs exacerbated by COVID-19 and healthcare shortages, drought, malnutrition, and the winter season,” NSC spokesperson Emily Horne said in a statement.

The US will also provide one million additional Covid-19 vaccine doses through COVAX, the global vaccine sharing program.

The US has provided $782 million in humanitarian assistance to the country, including the new aid, since October 2021, Horne said.

  5. CBC – Unvaccinated Quebecers will have to pay a ‘health contribution,’ Legault says

Unvaccinated Quebecers without medical exemptions will have to pay if they don’t get 1st dose soon

Quebec Premier François Legault said Tuesday the province would be imposing a “health contribution” on Quebecers who refuse to get their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in the coming weeks.

“We’re looking for a health contribution for adults who refuse to be vaccinated for non-medical reasons,” Legault said at a news conference, in which he also announced an interim public health director to replace Dr. Horacio Arruda.

Legault did not say when the payment would take effect or how much it would cost, but he did say he wanted it to be significant enough to act as incentive to get vaccinated — more than $50 or $100, he added. Legault said details would be revealed “in the coming weeks.”

“I know the situation is tough but we can get through this together. We need to focus efforts on two things: getting the first, second and third doses of vaccine and reducing our contacts, especially with older people,” Legault said.

New health fee for unvaccinated is ‘radical measure’ that will hurt the vulnerable, Québec solidaire says Québec solidaire is criticizing Premier François Legault’s plan to impose a tax-like new fee on unvaccinated Quebecer.

“The government seems to be divesting itself of its responsibility and prefers to turn to a radical measure,” the opposition party said in a press release.

“People on the ground say it: not all unvaccinated people are antivaxxers.

Among them are “homeless people, people with serious mental health problems, undocumented people.” Will François Legault send them an invoice? As in the case of the curfew in January 2021, the Prime Minister makes decisions completely forgetting the vulnerable.”

Quebec to impose financial penalty on the unvaccinated, Legault says

Quebec will impose a “significant” financial penalty on unvaccinated adults, Premier François Legault announced this afternoon.

He said it will be in the form of a “health contribution.” Those who have medical reasons for not getting vaccinated will be exempt.

Asked for more details by a reporter, Legault said logistics are still being worked out with the Finance Department.

He cited public health insurance as a model. Quebecers who don’t have private health insurance pay into the public system, Legault noted.

He was asked what amounts are being considered. “We want it to be significant,” Legault answered. “For me, $50 or $100 are not significant. But we haven’t yet set an amount.”

Legault was asked about the potential difficulties ahead for the plan, including possible legal challenges and the impact on people who might not be able to afford the fee.

Legault said the great majority of Quebecers have gotten vaccinated and are getting their booster doses.

But he noted about 10 per cent of Quebecers still refuse to get the shot and a large proportion of people hospitalized with COVID are unvaccinated.

With hospitals overwhelmed, non-urgent surgeries and other procedures are being delayed.

“It’s a question of equity,” Legault answered.

“Right now, these people, they’re putting a very important burden on our health care network. And I think it’s normal thatTHE MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION IS ASKING THAT THERE BE A CONSEQUENCE “

As a matter of fact, they also entered into a “fact-checking partnership” with Facebook in July 2021, and hired former Senior DHS official and former FBI Executive Brian Murphy as their Vice President of Strategic Operations, “…to lead, and expand, Logically’s threat intelligence business in the US.”

Ernie Piper has a lot of unanswered questions in his email to us. We will now try to help shed some light on them. For him, it is important to know who is behind the operations. It seems in his view, we’re very bad people doing very bad things.

The company was eventually acquired by Nasdaq-listed GoDaddy (GDDY). At the same time, Uwe booked a flight with Virgin Galactic, to space, to see if the Earth is flat or not with his own eyes.

This brings us to Ernie Piper’s next concern: He says, “amplifies and provides a platform for conspiracy theories, anti-vax disinformation, and hate speech on Telegram and Discord.”

But the press has all but ignored an interview with Putin’s former Chief Economic Advisor from 2000 to 2005, Dr. Andrei Illarionov, who believes that the “crisis” is a bluff driven in large measure by western media.
So why has this drumbeat of imminent invasion occurred, resulting in another summit and more meetings?

Illarionov believes that unfounded speculation by western newspapers morphed into a “disinformation campaign”, enhanced by the Kremlin, and created a full-blown propagandized invasion threat…

Most interesting is that Illarionov believes that Putin didn’t orchestrate this propaganda campaign but joined in “to exploit this campaign for his own favor. Aha! You are going to say that I am going to threaten Ukraine? Okay, I am ready to play this game, and I would support your claims,” he posited…

It appears that it’s time to call Putin’s bluff. He conducted a hybrid war against Europe for years. He’s sown chaos and flouts international laws, treaties, and norms. The Americans and others should meet, listen to Putin’s concocted grievances, support Ukraine, and establish red lines with severe and automatic economic sanctions attached. This is a game and Vlad is an opportunist, not a victim.

This would be typical Russian info op. Very interesting.

    • Coda to the Kazakhstan thing, the Russia – China relationship. A summary of TwitterThot:

Russia didn’t consult with China (which has piles of money in Kazak) before sending in the CSTO.

China was hurt, “We’re supposed to be partners, Vlad!”.
Russia showed it doesn’t like junior partner status.

Anyway, it all worked out well. China wanted to share the glow, family-like. The minute Tokayev announced troops were leaving, Xi jumped in to offer band-aid money for bruised Kazakis. Sweet.

The West lost face over extremely clumsy color revolution attempt. That’s why the media played up a Sino-Russia rift.
      Briefly. Now, memory-holed.

  8. Ukrainians call on US Senate to sanction Putin’s pipeline weapon

Editor’s note: US senators are expected to vote in the coming days on a bill to introduce new sanctions against Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

The controversial energy infrastructure project had earlier been opposed by the US but the Biden Administration waived sanctions in May 2021 in a bid to repair ties with Russia’s pipeline partner Germany.

On the eve of the vote, representatives of Ukrainian civil society have issued the following appeal calling on senators to back sanctions.

    Atlantic Council is NATO mouthpiece.
So what does the U.S. DoS do?

Report: State Department officials lobbying Senate Democrats against Sen. Ted Cruz’s Nord Stream 2 sanctions bill; Updated

It’s simplifying things a bit, but it’s not too far off to say that President Joe Biden kicked off his term killing off an American pipeline and giving one to Russia. Liberals insisted for years that President Donald Trump was Vladimir Putin’s puppet, even though Trump gave the OK to sell lethal weapons to Ukraine – something the Obama/Biden administration wouldn’t do. Trump also supported sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, and Sen. Ted Cruz has a bill sanctioning the pipeline.

Jake Sherman is reporting that the State Department has dispatched officials to lobby Senate Democrats to vote against Cruz’s bill.
