Reader’s Links for July 3, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. On the evolution of our freedom’s devolution.

Suffocation ain’t an option, though many will accept it. Declaring as radical large portions of the population is another trick of moving the goal posts. The so-called radicals are, of course, nothing of the sort. Law-abiding people who simply resist the deconstruction of their society, and who support the rule of law, are the enemy of the collectivist. These are people who do not want to live under tyranny. It is the tyrants–the communists–who are now using their media infrastructure to characterize the white male as the primary domestic terror threat. This is evidenced by the removal of historical statues and the renaming of streets and buildings. Erasing history is an important task on the checklist of control.

If you are in doubt about what something means–if you’re too busy to keep up with the avalanche of information burying you daily–ask yourself one question: does it serve The Revolution. That is the communist revolution? Does this development contribute to the deconstruction of your society? Does it help to weaken a corner stone institution? Does it try to tell you what to think? Does it serve the collective over the individual? If it does not place the rights of the individual over the that of the collective then it is against you and your freedom.

Yup, basic stuff. But there are always new people who can use a helping hand onto the wagon.

“Imagine if I used the same logic that the Feds and law enforcement use. It could go something like this:

One day, I looked outside my window and saw my neighbor talking to a Black man and then I saw them talking to what appeared to be a Muslim but I couldn’t see the person’s face because it was covered with a hijab. Then I saw my neighbor putting anti-government and Black Lives Matter signs in their front yard; they even put up a Pride flag. The next day, my neighbor knocked on my front door asking me to sign a police reform petition. Little did I know that my wife and kids had already signed the petition.

The next day when I went to work, I overheard my co-workers saying that they planned to march in a Black Lives Matter protest and asked me to sign a police brutality petition.

So when I got off work I immediately called DHS’s new, “Be On The Lookout For Domestic Terrorists” hotline and filed reports on my neighbors, my family and co-workers, I even called my local police department and filed reports with the local Fusion Center. I did this to protect my Homeland, because you never really know about a person’s ideological beliefs and behaviors. (FYI, there is no domestic terrorists hotline, yet.)

When did freedom of expression become a tool for law enforcement to use to identify family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers as potential extremists?”

  3. DAILY MAIL – Nine people are taken into custody after heavily-armed Moorish-Americans fled during traffic stop and then went on YouTube to insist they are peaceful – as Mass. police sweep their vehicles and the woods

Nine ‘armed and dangerous’ men wearing tactical-style clothing fled into woodland outside of Boston early Saturday morning

Residents of nearby Wakefield and Reading were urged to lock their doors and stay inside

Police confirmed members of the group posted videos to a YouTube account named ‘Rise of the Moors’

The group were seen in one clip waving a Moroccan flag, but insisted that they are not anti-US government

All of the men were apprehended late Saturday morning and were taken into custody

Police are now sweeping vehicles and surrounding areas

Massachusetts police have taken nine ‘armed and dangerous’ men into custody after they fled from police during a traffic stop overnight.

A state trooper spotted the group – who claimed to be members of ‘Rise of The Moors’ – at the side of the Interstate-95 between Wakefield and Reading around 1.30am Saturday.

The men, who were dressed in tactical-style gear and armed with both pistols and rifles, refused to comply with orders to drop their weapons and ran into woodland by the side of the road.

Massachusetts State Police issued an urgent shelter-in-place warning for residents Wakefield and Reading, and urged them to lock their doors. They added that the group were ‘dangerous’ and ‘do not recognize US laws’.

The I-95 was subsequently closed down as cops combed the area in search of the men.

Two of them were captured and arrested shortly after daybreak. The other seven were found and taken into custody around 1.30am.

The men claim to be from a group named ‘Rise Of The Moors’. It is currently unclear how closely they are related to Moorish Sovereign Citizens – a separate extremist group of squatters who do not recognize the authority of the United States government or its laws.

Police say they made no specific demands. They are now sweeping the men’s vehicles and surrounding woodlands to make sure no weapons were left behind.

During a press conference, cops confirmed that members of the group posted to the YouTube account ‘Rise of the Moors’ early on Saturday morning.

The group were reportedly on their way from Rhode Island to Maine to conduct ‘training’ when the incident in Massachusetts occurred.

One clip shows several men dressed in camouflage clothing waving a Moroccan flag as they stand at the side of the I-95 and declare ‘we are not anti-government’.

A separate video, filmed after daybreak, shows one of the camouflage-clad members speaking directly to the camera, stating: ‘We’re not anti- police, we’re not sovereign citizens, we’re not black identity extremists.’

‘The possession of a gun per se, constitutes no offence, so we haven’t violated any laws’.

‘The police saw us on the side of the road with our guns secured, we were afraid, so we got out with our arms, and I have a body camera that has been recording the whole time,’ the Rise of the Moors member insisted.

‘We reassured them multiple times that we are abiding by the federal laws as well as the judicial opinions of the United States Supreme Court, but they keep portraying us as being anti-government but we’re not anti-government at all.’

The member did not specifically outline his group’s goals or beliefs.

Meanwhile, Massachusetts State Police claimed the men did not have driver’s licenses or gun licenses when they were approached by the officer early Saturday morning.

Wakefield and Reading are located just 15 miles from downtown Boston, but police said city residents were not under threat.

The FBI Boston Division also issued a statement saying they were ‘fully engaged’ with the situation and were standing by ready to offer assistance.

The I-95 remains closed as of 10.30am local time Saturday, but is expected to be reopened in the coming hours now that all nine men are in custody.

No charges have yet been filed.

Moorish Sovereign Citizens: An extremist group who claim to be America’s original inhabitants
While the group of men pulled over in Massachusetts on Saturday proclaim to be members of ‘Rise of the Moors’, it is unclear how closely they are linked to Moorish Sovereign Citizens – an extremis political movement that emerged in the mid-1990s on the US East Coast.

‘Rise of the Moors’ members insist they are not anti-police or anti-government and are not sovereign citizens. They also purport to be abiding by all US laws, unlike Moorish Sovereign Citizens (MSC).

MSC’s founder Noble Drew Ali taught that black ‘Moors’ were America’s original inhabitants and were therefore entitled to self-governing status.

He believed that all African Americans were descendants of the Moabites and are therefore Moorish.

Some Islamic historians believe that the Moors and Muslim groups reached the Americas before Christopher Columbus.

Moorish sovereigns believe this entitles them to claim immunity from federal, state, and local laws and can sometimes cite God’s law or common law over constitutional authority.

They come into conflict with federal and state authorities over their refusal to obey laws and government regulations.

Vatican hails vaccinations as “one of the greatest achievements” of modern science, seeks all-out effort to combat the “myths and disinformation” that are slowing vaccinations against the coronavirus.
Vatican seeks all-out effort to combat vaccine hesitancy

ROME — The Vatican’s bioethics academy and the World Medical Association on Friday called for an all-out effort to combat vaccine hesitancy and correct the “myths and disinformation” that are slowing the fight against the coronavirus.

In a joint statement, the groups said some vaccine reluctance in poorer countries is rooted in historical inequalities and suspicions of Western pharmaceutical companies. But they said “a more pernicious form” of hesitancy is being driven by fake news, myths and disinformation about vaccine safety, including among religious groups and some in the medical community.

They demanded that “all relevant stakeholders exhaust all efforts to … confront vaccine hesitancy by sending a clear message about the safety and necessity of vaccines and counteracting vaccine myths and disinformation.”

The statement also repeated calls from the Vatican and the medical establishment for vaccine equity, to make sure the poorest nations have the same access to shots as wealthier ones.
Vatican, medical associations look at ways to promote vaccination

ROME — The discovery of vaccines is “one of the greatest achievements of modern medicine,” but the global community is facing the dual challenges of giving everyone access to them and overcoming “vaccine hesitancy,” especially when it is based on false information, said the Pontifical Academy for Life and the World Medical Association.

The academy and the association of national physicians’ groups had been planning a major conference on vaccination in general when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. While the conference may take place in the future, the Pontifical Academy for Life, World Medical Association and German Medical Association held an online webinar July 1 to look specifically at the COVID-19 vaccine.

At the end of the meeting, the groups called on governments, pharmaceutical companies, religious groups and others to work together to “ensure equitable global access to vaccines, which is a key prerequisite for a successful global vaccination campaign, and to confront vaccine hesitancy by sending a clear message about the safety and necessity of vaccines and counteracting vaccine myths and disinformation.”

Dr. Frank Ulrich Montgomery, chair of the council of the World Medical Association, told reporters July 2: “There is probably no other invention in medicine that has saved more lives and prevented more suffering than vaccination. We have eradicated smallpox, we are close to wiping polio off the surface of the earth, and deadly diseases like measles have lost their frightening appearance.”

Yet, he said, with the COVID-19 vaccine “10 countries in the world have delivered 80% of the 3 billion given doses up to now.”

While people in poorer nations, especially on behalf of their elderly and immune-compromised members, “cry out for help and ask for vaccines,” Montgomery said, in other parts of the world “we see reluctance to get vaccinated and opposition to vaccination in general — without any scientific evidence.”

“Because we are so successful in preventing disease, people forget the terrorizing sights of large numbers of people dying in endemic or pandemic situations,” he said. “This bring us into a most cynical position: whereas a child in a developing country is denied a safer life or even survival because its nation or its family cannot afford vaccinations, there is also a child in an affluent country that is denied the life-saving prevention because of the ignorance or reluctance of their parents.”

Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, academy president, told reporters at a Vatican news conference that even with the focus on ending the coronavirus pandemic, “we must prevent the COVID-19 pandemic from drawing all attention to itself to a point that it appears, albeit with valid reasons, as the most urgent.”

“We must not forget, for example, that malaria and tuberculosis claim far more victims in Africa than COVID-19,” he said, nor that the lack of basic necessities like sanitation and clean drinking water threaten the health of millions of people around the world.

He also said the webinar highlighted how “vaccine hesitancy” has a variety of motivations and that many of those reasons among historically disadvantaged communities are valid.

“In fact,” the archbishop said, “vaccines have a history that is marked by injustice and oppression. It is difficult to ask for trust from people who have had to deal with systemic victimization by the countries that are generally the ones that produce vaccines.”

“Lots of chickens are coming home to roost in these countries,” he said. In response, “a one-time effort is not enough. To build real confidence we need policies that include a comprehensive vision of development and fairer international relations.”

Asked about the use of the pejorative term “anti-vaxxer,” Montgomery said that in promoting vaccinations, there is an obvious difference between a person who has a firm “ideological” position against vaccination and a person who is “vaccine hesitant” and could benefit from more information and encouragement.

In response to questions about the COVID-19 vaccine’s connections to abortion, Paglia repeated the response of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which urged Catholics to pressure pharmaceutical companies to stop using cells derived from fetuses aborted decades ago to manufacture or test vaccines, but also said when no other effective vaccines are available, “the use of such vaccines does not constitute formal cooperation with the abortion from which the cells used in production of the vaccines derive.”

Pressed by a reporter about making vaccines obligatory, Paglia said he never framed the question in terms of obligation, but of “responsibility,” because people must realize that refusing a vaccine not only places their health at risk, but also the health of people around them who, for medical reasons, cannot be vaccinated.

The archbishop described as “exaggerated individualism” an attitude that insisted on one’s personal rights while not taking into account that behavior’s impact on others.

The head of the World Health Organization said the world is currently in “a very dangerous period” of the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that the easier-to-spread delta variant has now been in seen in nearly 100 countries.

At a press briefing on Friday, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the delta variant, first seen in India, is continuing to evolve and mutate, and that it is fast becoming the predominant COVID-19 virus in many countries.

“I have already urged leaders across the world to ensure that by this time next year, 70 percent of all people in every country are vaccinated,” Tedros said, saying that would effectively end the acute phase of the pandemic.

Joe Biden has warned that although America has Covid-19 ‘on the run’ the latest variant is of particular concern among those who remain unvaccinated – as the president’s goal of 70% of US adults receiving at least one shot of vaccine by the Fourth of July holiday looks set to fall short.

    • Germany recommends mixing vaccines to better tackle Delta variant

For those that got the Oxford University-developed jab as their first dose, Germany is recommending they switch to a mRNA shot for their second – either Pfizer or Moderna.

The aim is to increase the speed and effectiveness of vaccinations as the more contagious delta variant spreads. In a statement, the country’s standing committee on vaccination said that ‘according to current study results,’ the immune response from a mixture of AstraZeneca with an mRNA vaccine was ‘significantly superior’ to that from two doses of AstraZeneca.

It recommended that the second dose with an mRNA vaccine – Germany uses those made by BioNTech-Pfizer and Moderna – be administered four weeks or more after the first AstraZeneca shot.

That is much shorter than the nine to 12 weeks the committee recommends between two doses of AstraZeneca.

    • Iran: Rouhani warns of fifth COVID wave amid Delta variant concern

As Iran struggles to cope with low supplies of COVID-19 vaccines, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned the country was headed for the fifth wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

“There is a concern that the whole country will be on the path to the fifth wave. This means that if the care is not taken enough, the situation will get worse,” said Rouhani while addressing a National Coronavirus Combat and Prevention Headquarters meeting in Tehran on Saturday.

“In recent weeks, it was announced that the new Delta virus had entered the country from the south and southeast, and care must be taken not to spread the virus into the country,” added the outgoing Iran President.

Rouhani also called for compensation when discussing the downing of Iranian passenger aircraft by a US Navy guided-missile cruiser over the Persian Gulf in 1988.

“We hope the US government knows that a great crime was committed in the Persian Gulf in 1988 and that all libertarians around the world are always calling for the United States to take action to apologize, to compensate, and to inform people why it had encouraged the killer and perpetrator of this great crime,” said Rouhani

SOT, Hassan Rouhani, Iranian President (Farsi): “Unfortunately, the US government has not only not formally apologized for this crime since then, but has not taken any significant action, and on the other hand, has applauded the commander of this ship. This act is really not acceptable at all, it was big horrible crime, and none of the subsequent actions are commensurate with the wrongdoing that the United States did in the Persian Gulf.”

SOT, Hassan Rouhani, Iranian President (Farsi): “We hope the US government knows that it had committed a great crime in the Persian Gulf in 1988, and that all libertarians around the world are always calling for the United States to take action to apologize, to compensate, and to inform people why it had rewarded the killer and perpetrator of this great crime.”

SOT, Hassan Rouhani, Iranian President (Farsi): “We should have had more vaccines. If the countries we contracted and paid for some of them gave us the vaccines on time, we would definitely have better conditions. We paid for COVAX, but it is delayed from what it promised us. We got a small number of these 16.8 million vaccines. The rest is left. Now if we receive them soon, it can help us.”

SOT, Hassan Rouhani, Iranian President (Farsi): “It was discussed today that in some of our southern provinces the situation has become critical and they are facing the fourth or fifth wave (of COVID pandemic). Previously, when some provinces faced the fourth wave, these provinces did not have the fourth wave and have just entered the fourth wave. But there is a concern that the whole country will be on the path to the fifth wave. This means that if the care is not taken enough, the situation will get worse. Today, it was announced that a total of 69 percent of health protocols in the country are observed. Well, this is too little.”

SOT, Hassan Rouhani, Iranian President (Farsi): “In recent weeks, it was announced that the new Delta virus had entered the country from the south and southeast, and care must be taken not to spread the virus into the country. Unfortunately, we had some events in recent days that aggravated the situation. We had the election. We especially had [city and village] council elections. I wonder if most people realize the importance of the relationship between the teachers’ unions and the Democrat Party. The fact is that the teachers are considered the absolute primary base of the party and, through volunteer work, are virtually the people who run the Democrat Party. I know here in BC the teachers are as strident and bossy and confident as a bunch of Bolsheviks and from what I’ve seen they’re all pretty much like that all over the world, from here to Mexico to Germany, etc…

Think about it. The teachers are educated and well-versed in communication. They have money and can man phones, write letters, and promulgate propaganda better than most people. They live in a world that is entirely sponsored by public funds that simply flow in endlessly. And, let’s face it, teachers are always in a perpetual state of snit over the fact that they are not considered equal to nor paid as much as lawyers, doctors, accountants, and businessmen. They wake up mad about that and stay mad all day, then go to the polls and pout-vote as left-wing as they possibly can. And they always welcome as much sheer power as they can possibly muster…

At first glance, this little article seems trivial enough but on further investigation reveals itself to be particularly nasty and destructive psychological warfare. Americans love to barbeque on the 4th of July, so it’s safe to say that it’s an American cultural fixture. It’s also safe to say that the Marxist is always trying to downgrade and discredit any and all American culture in order to demoralize the people to the point of wanting communism to come and make things better. It’s like when you go to take a bite out of a hot dog and somebody has to say, “Do you know what’s in those things?”. Once again, the hot dog is an American cultural phenomenon so it must be discredited and broken down, and declared “unhealthy”. It’s not a small thing. It’s like making the Chinese stop eating fried rice – it would make them very unhappy indeed.

Then they tear down a Columbus statue. Then unperson a historical figure because they had slaves. Then describe the Old West as nothing more than an exercise in genocide and say that Americans all live on “stolen land”. And on and on it goes as they march toward world domination and a permanent iron curtain by endlessly undermining the USA…

    • It’s hard to believe that anybody could possibly be stupid enough to believe this absolute bullshit. The Quran specifically commands the Believers to “Make not friends with Christians and Jews” and clearly states that their “god” (Allah) hates Jews as well as his “prophet”, Muhammad Abdullah, and those countries are being flooded with Muslims as we speak. Every day we hear of anti-Jewish attacks being perpetrated by Muslims and yet they want us to believe that the rise in anti-Semitism is due to the Coronavirus and right-wing extremists (Trump supporters). It’s such an outrageous lie and you would have to suffer from severe mental retardation to be fooled by it…

  7. The Defender

Floridian, Alton Maglio says his law firm, Maglio, Christopher, and Toale, “Our law firm has a disappointing message for would-be clients who have suffered a serious injury from a Covid vaccine.”

“Our law firm has concluded there is nothing our attorneys can do to significantly assist you”, the firm states on its website. That’s because the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) also known as the “vaccine court”— does not currently handle Covid vaccine injury claims, though the law firm, says it is leading a national effort to get Covid vaccines covered under NVICP.

The current system for handling Covid related claims is different than the other vaccines — and is not a positive way if you suffered an injury related to Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson and Johnson, you are out of luck.

There are only 2 programs in the US that help people with vaccine reactions but only one of them accepts claims related to Covid vaccines — The Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP) — and it almost never awards money, Maglio’s website states.

Renee Gentry, Director of the Vaccine Injury Litigation Clinic at George Washington University Law School, said Covid vaccine claimants “You have the right to file, and you have the right to lose”.

The National Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, which established the NVICP, and US a Supreme Court Decision, Russell Brueswitz et al v. Wyeth et al guarantee that vaccine manufacturers almost always have no legal accountability or financial liability in Civil Court when a government recommended or mandated vaccine(s) causes permanent injury or death.

At a time when the government is urgently trying to convince 70% of the eligible population to get vaccinated before the Delta variant takes hold, it seems unhelpful to deny due process — no judge, no judicial appeal and no transparency to those who react badly to vaccines.

According to research compiled by a group in Mesa County, as of June 25 there were 180 GoFundMe accounts seeking help for people who had suffered injuries after a Covid vaccine and were left with large medical bills, and other expenses.

Kelli, a young woman who was pursuing a master’s degree in nursing, has been suffering since receiving her second dose of Pfizer’s Covid vaccine. A friend turned to GoFundMe to raise money for her medical bills, equipment and care.

According to the Mayo Clinic, GBS is a rare disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks its nerves. Initial symptoms include weakness and tingling in the extremities which can quickly spread, eventually paralyzingly the whole body.

Kelli has not responded well to treatments and her condition has continued to worsen. She can only move her hands, neck and shrug her shoulders. She is unable to grip or hold things and she is unable to eat by mouth. once healthy with no previous medical conditions, Kelli now relies on a feeding tube to eat and a ventilator to breathe.

“One of the real issues that is not being discussed enough to the degree of what is happening in these cases involving adverse vaccine responses”, said Dr. Routhier, a physician and former executive within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.

“We typically think of vaccine reactions as being things like a rash, fever or a symptom that eventually recedes. What we are seeing now are what we can be more properly described as being vaccine injuries. People are being physically harmed by vaccines and that is to some degree atypical “. Dr. Routhier said workplace vaccine requirements may be contributing to the need for more GoFundMe requests.

    She explained:
“If some is required to take a vaccine in order to work, and then is injured by the vaccine making them unable to work, this is not the kind of injury recognized under workman’s compensation insurance. That means people who have a debilitating injury that is work related but not recognized as being such. They might have to turn to private charity to replace some of their lost income.”

VARES reported as of June 25, 2021, there have been 34,065 serious injuries like Kelli’s case.

    Adverse reactions 441,931

    Deaths 6,985

The CDC also admits they are slow in compiling the numbers of reactions.

I wonder what the “real” number amount to.
