Reader’s Links for June 8, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

M this fits in with my own suspicions along with Microsoft’s constant updates about which I have neither an idea nor control over. One signal to all intel chips or windows PCs could switch off your IT perhaps permanently and who knows what they send back from your PC. Paraoind? U betcha!
From 4Chan – “So a few researchers from the Russian cybersec firm, PT Security, recently found secret instructions inside Intel CPUs that allow them to disassembler and modify the microcode inside the chips. This is an extremely technically impressive hack that is about as low level as you can get. But it is not inventing a new hack, it is discovering undocumented backdoors that Intel have put into their own chips going back decades. Suddenly, BAM! The US Treasury Dept puts PT Security on the Sanctions List and accuses them of being a FSB/GRU front company–a claim that cannot be disproven, so PT Security is now in the double jeopardy situation of having no way to clear their own name.” They prepared a talk to deliver at the Blackhat Hacker conference, and were denied, meaning the conference where you are supposed to reveal shocking revelations of governmental corruption and over-reach is actually a government run conference designed to contain such revelations. An anon also points out this means every crypto password is accessible, I would assume everyone’s file has their crypto details in it, including everything needed to empty their wallets, even in cold storage, which might mean a crypto crash will one day happen, if the truth is revealed. Cabal won’t want that, as they are probably using crypto to launder funds, but any sudden massive drop may mean, they are getting out to beat the disclosure.

As I have said the Cabal is terrified that Russians are rapidly becoming our greatest allies, not so much because the US intelligence apparatus Cabal controls is our enemy, but because we are finding out we are apparently the US/Cabal intel apparatus’ enemy, and real-America’s only hope is alliance with a friendly, first-world intelligence agency like SVR. Add in shared virtues of morality, loyalty, piousness, and patriotism, and we are naturally closer to any Russian than any democrat in America, and any Cabal leader. The truth is, I would be agnostic on US intel doing all this shit if they left everybody in the US alone who wasn’t bothering them. Shit is always going to happen in the shadows. But sadly there are now numerous cases of people minding their own business and not being left alone. So if you have any designs on supporting freedom or the ideals of America, or just not being controlled by pedophiles who are crashing our nation, you have no hope. And it is not on a trajectory of getting any better. If they haven’t gotten to you yet, they are building their network and growing the manpower to be working toward it. Other thoughts – notice the article says “NSA” despite not having any idea who did this. It is reminiscent of the movie Enemy of the State, showing an all powerful domestic intel operation with on the ground field operatives and wetwork teams harassing Will Smith being an NSA operation, despite the fact NSA is mostly computer geeks, and it appears the genuine gangstalking operation in the USA is likely a CIA program of national civilian informant/surveillant networks, run under some training rubric, probably with FBI support under the rule which allows CIA to take over FBI. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if the “anon” posting this all over 4Chan is CIA, desperately megaphoning the allegation, but attached to the acronym NSA to keep all the stink off the Agency. Remember, NSA was run by Mike Rogers, a guy so by the book he got in his personal vehicle, and dodged his own surveillance to drive up to Trump Tower and warn Trump he found evidence of illegal surveillance on him. No Intel Chief warns a target – it is like a betrayal of the Intel community to an outsider. But he did.

I’m sure that Dr. Fauci has out-murdered Doctors Mengle and Guevera combined, and probably by a few hundred thousand. Fauci is guilty of mass murder and it’s impossible not to see that once you see the facts laid out so well. A whole bunch of people would be alive today if he had not lied to the people of the world and totally betrayed his Hippocratic oath… “Do no harm”. Yeah, right….

Unfortunately, a few employees have not met the vaccine requirements and are inviting other employees to join them as they end their shifts today.

    • zero hedge – WHO Celebrates As Indian Health Regulator Removes Ivermectin From Its COVID-19 Protocol

After India finally gets somewhat of a grip on its deadly second wave, one of its health regulators just took away one of its main lines of defense.

India’s Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has executed a policy reversal that could have massive implications for the battle against covid-19, not only in India but around the world. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of lives, are at providing stake. Providing no explanation whatsoever, the DGHS has overhauled its COVID-19 treatment guidelines and removed almost all of the repurposed medicines it had previously recommended for treating asymptomatic and mild cases. They include the antibiotic doxycycline, hydroxychloroquine zinc, ivermectin and even multivitamins. The only medicines that are still recommended for early treatment are cold medicines, antipyretics such as paracetamol and inhaled budesonide.

“No other covid-specific medication [is] required,” say the new guidelines, which also discourage practitioners from prescribing unnecessary tests such as CT scans.

“Patients are advised to seek tele consultation; and Covid-19 appropriate behaviour must be observed such as mask, strict hand hygiene and physical distancing… [Patients are also advised to maintain] a healthy diet with proper hydration… [and] to stay connected [with family] and engage in positive talks through phone, video-calls, etc.”
The decision to remove ivermectin, multivitamins and zinc from the treatment guidelines is hard to comprehend given the current state of play in India — unless one assumes foul play. After suffering one of the worst covid-19 outbreaks since the pandemic began, resulting in the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives, India is not just flattening the curve, it is crushing it. And the widespread use of ivermectin, a potent anti-viral and anti-inflammatory with an excellent safety profile, appears to have played an instrumental role.

      A Happy WHO

Other countries in the region have already taken notice. Indonesia just approved the use of ivermectin in Kudus, a local contagion hotspot.

This is the last thing the World Health Organization (WHO) and the pharmaceutical companies whose interests it broadly represents want. As such, it was no surprise that WHO was delighted with the DGHS’ policy reversal. “Evidence based guidelines from @mohfw DGHS – simple, rational and clear guidance for physicians,” tweeted WHO’s chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan, of Indian descent. “Should be translated and disseminated in all Indian languages.”

As I posited in my recent article “I Don’t Know of a Bigger Story in the World” Right Now Than Ivermectin: NY Times Best-Selling Author, there are three possible explanations for global health regulators’ opposition to the use of a highly promising, well-tolerated off-label medicine such as ivermectin:

As a generic, ivermectin is cheap and widely available, which means there would be a lot less money to be made by Big Pharma if it became the go-to early-stage treatment against covid.

Other pharmaceutical companies are developing their own novel treatments for Covid-19 which would have to compete directly with ivermectin.

If approved as a covid-19 treatment, ivermectin could even threaten the emergency use authorisation granted to covid-19 vaccines.

It’s worth noting that while India’s DGHS has dumped most cheap off-patent treatment options against Covid, including even multivitamins, more expensive patented medicines continue to get the green light. They include Gilead’s prohibitively expensive antiviral Remdesivir, which DGHS continues to recommend for “select moderate/ severe hospitalised COVID-19 patients”, even though “it is only an experimental drug with potential to harm.” It has also authorised the use of the anti-inflammatory medicine tocilizumab, which costs hundreds of dollars a dose.

      Crushing the Curve
The DGHS began recommending the widespread use of ivermectin as early as April, in direct contradiction of the recommendations of the World Health Organization. Treatment packs were assembled in many states and distributed to patients testing positive for Covid. In at least two states — Goa and Uttarakhand — the medicine was distributed as a preventive. As has already happened in over 20 countries where ivermectin has been used — from Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Peru to Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Bangladesh — case numbers, hospitalizations and fatalities have fallen in almost vertical fashion. On Monday the country recorded its lowest number of new cases in 61 days.

“When we started seeing more cases, we decided to take up a door-to-door survey,” Bagalkot District Health Officer Dr Ananth Desai told New India Express. “When the health officials noticed people with symptoms during the survey, they tested them immediately and provided them with home isolation kits, which had medicines like Ivermectin, calcium and zinc tablets along with paracetamol. We advised the patients to start with the medication even before their Covid-19 test results came out. With these measures, we noticed that many patients recovered faster. This helped in increasing the recovery rate”.

In India’s capital, Delhi, the number of people testing positive for Covid-19 daily has fallen 97% from a peak of 24,000 on April 24. The number of deaths is down by around 85%. Only 17% of the total beds earmarked for Covid-19 treatment in Delhi and around 40% of the ICU beds were occupied late last week, according to the government’s Delhi Corona app. At the peak, there were days when no ICU beds were available in the city.

Just over four weeks ago India was in a very dark place. At one point it was accounting for almost half of all global cases and one in every four covid-19 deaths. The government had lost complete control. Four weeks later, the country, while not out of the woods, is in a much better place. While the official numbers of cases and deaths are probably still a fraction of the real numbers, the trend is clearly moving in the right direction.

An important reason for that is that doctors in India have been treating covid patients as early as possible — something that isn’t happening in most countries, particularly rich ones that play an outsized role in setting global health policy. In India early treatment has helped to reduce the number of cases becoming acute. And that has helped to reduce the pressure on hospitals and vital resources such as oxygen. Ivermectin also appears to have helped reduce the spread of the virus, thanks to its potent anti-viral properties.

Just about everywhere ivermectin is used, the number of cases, hospitalizations and deaths fall precipitously. Of course, this is only a temporal correlation. But nonetheless a clear pattern across nations and territories has formed that strongly supports ivermectin’s purported efficacy. And that efficacy has been amply demonstrated in dozens of clinical studies and multiple meta-analyses. But it’s not proof enough for global health authorities, which have set the bar for ivermectin so high that it’s almost impossible to straddle.

Of course, other factors such as lockdowns, travel restrictions and increased herd immunity have also played a part in India’s rapid turnaround. But vaccines’ role has been minimal given that just 16 doses have been administered per hundred people. It’s going to take many more months, if not longer, to vaccinate a majority of the population. In the meantime, hundreds of millions of people will remain unprotected from the virus. Many will end up catching and transmitting it. Yet the Directorate General of Health Services has taken away one of the country’s only lines of defense.

It remains to be seen whether state governors and health bureaucrats will comply with the recommendations. For the moment the separate treatment protocols recommended by India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) continue to include ivermectin. As such, many doctors are likely to continue prescribing the medicine. But what happens if MOHFW and ICMR follow the DGHS’ lead and also drop ivermectin. Will doctors stop using a medicine they know to work against a virus that has already caused so much devastation?

India’s most populous state, Uttar Pradesh, has been using ivermectin since last summer. In this second wave the turnaround was so dramatic that even the World Health Organization (WHO) showcased its achievements. In a May 7 article titled “Going the Last Mile to Stop Covid-19” the WHO noted that aggressive population-wide health schemes, including home testing and “medicine kits”, had helped regain control of the virus. But what the WHO failed to mention is what was in those medicine kits.

Instead, three days later WHO’s chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan, of Indian descent, tweeted out a reminder that ivermectin is not recommended to treat covid-19 patients. The tweet included a press release issued by the company that manufactures the drug, Merck, saying it had found no evidence to support the use of ivermectin in the treatment of COVID-19. Merck, it’s worth recalling, is developing an antiviral compound, molnupiravir, that will have to compete directly with ivermectin, one of the cheapest, safest drugs on the planet — unless, of course, ivermectin is taken out of the picture.

      A Cautionary Tale
But if that happens, the result is likely to be a lot more deaths. Peru, the first country to use ivermectin against Covid, is living proof of that. The medicine was first used in eight states during the very early stages of the pandemic (May-July). After showing promise, it was extended to the whole country. Excess deaths dropped 59% (25%) at +30 days and 75% (25%) at +45 days after day of peak deaths. But in October, after the first wave had been brought under control, a newly elected government in Lima took the inexplicable step of withdrawing a number of medicines, including ivermectin, from its treatment guide for the disease.

Within weeks hospitalizations and deaths were soaring once again. The graph above, taken from a study by Juan Chamie, Jennifer Hibberd of the University of Toronto and David Scheim of the US Public Health Service, shows the sharp rise, fall and resurgence in excess deaths (among the over 60 year-old cohort) in Peru as the virus waxed, waned and waxed again. Since Peru dropped ivermectin the virus has raged through the population. Peru now has the highest per-capita death rate from covid on the planet. It’s a cautionary tale that India, with a population more than 30 times that of Peru, would do well to heed.

In a 9-0 decision issued Monday morning, the Supreme Court ruled that a law, barring illegal immigrants from seeking green cards, is constitutional and that those illegal immigrants who later earned a Temporary Protected Status (TPS) are still ineligible to apply for permanent residency.

Justice Elena Kagan, widely recognized as one of the Court’s more liberal justices, wrote the unanimous opinion, upholding a rule that barred “unlawful entrants” who later received Temporary Protected Status from applying to remain in the United States. Temporary Protected Status technically “gives foreign nationals nonimmigrant status,” Kagan noted, but TPS does not rubber-stamp an “unlawful entry.”

The TPS status “applies to people who come from countries ravaged by war or disaster. It protects them from deportation and allows them to work legally. There are 400,000 people from 12 countries with TPS status,” according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

The U.S. Department of Justice has subpoenaed material connected to a memoir written by the Democratic governor of New York Andrew Cuomo, as part of an investigation into a possible cover-up of COVID deaths in the state’s nursing homes.

Prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York are said to have requested communications associated with Cuomo’s book, American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The DOJ is said to be after a host of materials that would have been used during the pitching process to publishers – including various contracts and documents.

The subpoenas have been issued as prosecutors continue to probe the the details of the nursing home debacle which was discussed in the memoir.

In political ad, Dem Sen. Joe Manchin pretends to shoot anti-Obamacare lawsuit with shotgun

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin has become the face of the Democrats’ newest piñata, with Arizona Sen. Kristen Sinema a close second. The target Manchin finds painted on his back is the result of an op-ed he published in the Charleston Gazette-Mail over the weekend titled “Why I’m voting against the For the People Act.” This bill, a more legitimate name for which might be the “For the Democrats Act,” would radically change the way elections are carried out, effectively making the U.S. a one-party state.

Democrats have expressed their pique before over what they perceive as Manchin’s “Twelfth Man” act, but this week it became personal. Mondaire Jones, who is running to become New York’s first gay black Congress member, tweeted “Manchin’s op-ed might as well be titled, ‘Why I’ll vote to preserve Jim Crow’,” and called the senator’s position “intellectually unserious.”

Obama plays dumb on critical race theory, pretends it does not auger radical change to society

    Share Tweet Flip

Former Pres. Barack Obama sat for an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper in which he remarked on the prominent role critical race theory has come to occupy in our public conversation and in schools, where lesson plans are being shaped around it. Here is a video of a portion of that interview, followed by a transcript:

A white population that is witnessing a changing America and seeing demographic changes and do everything they can to give people a sense that their way of life is threatened and that people are trying to take advantage of them and we’re seeing it right now where you would think with all the public policy debates that are taking place right now that the Republican Party would be engaged in a significant debate about how are we going to deal with the economy and what are we going to do about climate change and what are we going to do about — lo and behold! — the single most important issue to them apparently right now is critical race theory. Who knew [laughs] that was the threat to our republic? But those debates are powerful because they get at ‘What story do we tell about ourselves?’

To listen to Obama tell it, there is nothing radical about this change, which is being mischaracterized by white Americans as a threat to the very fabric of the nation. At one point in his monolog, he even emits a laugh that something so utterly benign as critical race theory is receiving the attention it is when so many far more pressing issues, such as climate change and the economy, beckon.

In reality, there is nothing benign about this theory, which in any case Obama is no stranger to. As I wrote in 2016, Obama, while at Harvard Law School, became immersed in and a strong advocate for critical race theory, which was developed by his mentor there, Derrick Bell. The theory “proceeds from the assumptions that white supremacy is rampant in American society, both on a conscious and unconscious level, and that the only remedy is ‘racial emancipation.’”

      Use your Jewish fist
Yes, anti-Semitism is on the rise… so what are you doing about it? Op-ed.
      [Emphasis in the original]
We have all heard of the Jewish head – the Yiddishe Kup – and we are truly proud of that but my Rabbi taught me that in order for that Jewish head to be complete, it must be attached to a Jewish fist!

In the Yeshiva, we need to be “The People of the Book” and on the street – when dealing with anti-Semites – we need to be “The People of the Weapon and the Fist”…

Yes, my friends, we need both.

Therefore, in addition to studying Daf Yomi and attending shul 3 times a day, make sure you spend an equal amount of time learning how to shoot a gun and how to punch with force. Do everything you can to get a legal firearm and make sure the anti-Semites know you will not hesitate to use it.

Enroll your kids in little league and also karate… and make sure this includes your daughters as well! [Like my Dad did for me.]

Organize volunteers for Hatzalah [volunteer EMT] but also for a neighborhood patrol that guards Jewish homes, businesses, shuls, Yeshivas, mikvehs and social gatherings.

By the way, I made the analogy to Hatzalah for 2 reasons. Just like Hatzalah works with local EMT’s and hospitals, the “Never Again Patrol” should coordinate efforts with the local police.

But the second reason is even more important. We all know why Hatzalah was started and how many Jewish lives have been saved when we handle these matters ourselves. The same must be true in the world of Jewish security.

Do not raise money to hire an outside company or off-duty cops to stand in the lobby of the shul or drive a car with some weird yellow light… do it yourselves!

Every one of those Hatzalah guys spent hundreds of hours training and getting ready and if that is true to save a Jew from a heart attack then it’s equally as true to save a Jew from a gang attack.…

  18. Danish MP cites PMW for uncovering PA fraud and payment of terrorist salaries with western aid

Danish MP cites PMW for uncovering PA fraud and payment of terrorist salaries with western aid

Website of the Danish Parliament, May 6, 2021

MP Søren Espersen, Danish People’s Party: “We [the Danish People’s Party] want to stop the payments to the PA effective immediately, because if you look closer at the huge sums in this gigantic aid scandal, then you can’t help but be deeply shaken by what happens when the PA receives their annual payments – from the EU, from the US, from the UN, from the Arab countries, etc. We’re talking about corruption. We’re talking about nepotism. We’re talking about payments to convicted terrorists and their families. We are talking about how the PA with great cunning is trying to hide how the money actually ends up in all possible and impossible pockets. PMW – Palestinian Media Watch and the Norwegian MIFF – With Israel For Peace have followed for years the neat and tidy money transfers from trusting Western governments [that turn] into money that smells of fraud and deception… It’s peculiar that we in Denmark actually have a law that prohibits providing financial support to terrorists. I’ve noted that different Danish governments repeatedly violate their own law.”

PA terror salaries – Under Palestinian Authority law, the PA pays thousands of terrorist prisoners monthly salaries from the day of their arrest. The PA also provides salaries and various grants and benefits to released terrorists. Moreover, the PA pays wounded terrorists and the families of dead terrorist “Martyrs” monthly allowances. Palestinian Media Watch has exposed and documented this PA practice for over a decade, and in doing so has brought about change in and cancellation of Western funding to the PA.

  19. Israel Conditions Gaza’s Rehabilitation on Return of Fallen Soldiers and Captive Civilians

In a policy shift in the wake of the 2021 Gaza War, Israel has conditioned Gaza’s rehabilitation on the return of Israel’s fallen soldiers and captive civilians in Hamas hands. It is only permitting medicine and medical equipment, food, and fuel for the private sector to enter Gaza and is allowing Gazans in need of life-saving medical treatment to enter Israel, but is not allowing anything else to enter Gaza and is preventing the export of goods.

The Defense Ministry’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories has determined unequivocally that there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Due to precise targeting, the damage to civilian infrastructure in Gaza from Israeli strikes was just one-tenth of the damage caused during the 2014 war.
They seek the remains of two IDF soldiers and the release of two ARAB Israelis – one of whom is mentally retarded.

  20. After a Century, Jordan Has Outlived Expectations, but Remains Precarious

Jordan recently launched its centennial celebrations, defying the skeptics who had predicted the kingdom’s demise on countless occasions. How had the kingdom survived for so long, against the odds, and in contrast to its neighbors in the Fertile Crescent?

When Britain’s then-Colonial Secretary Winston Churchill founded the Emirate of Transjordan in 1921, it did not include even one city. Amman was a village, mainly Circassian, with 2,500 inhabitants. Only one town, al-Salt, had a population of 20,000. Most of the country was an underpopulated and impoverished desert with no natural resources. Yet Jordan is 90-95% Sunni Muslim and Arab, unlike the multiple sects in neighboring Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, whose sectarian conflicts have led to their destruction.

Though King Abdullah II has been on his throne for 22 years, he is still often compared, mostly unfavorably, to his father Hussein. [Drunken Dwarf Kinglet?] Abdullah received all his formal education, from elementary school onwards, in England and the U.S. Hussein also studied for a few years in his teens in England. But he never lost his intimate attachment to Jordan and its people.

The Jordanians admired Hussein’s command of Arabic, while Abdullah was sometimes the object of ridicule because of his faulty language. Abdullah’s upbringing did not include intimacy with tribal mores and politics, which were second nature to Hussein.
