Reader’s Links for February 20, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • He is not a communist: he merely sees it as one of two effective tools to control and suppress populations.

The aim of the globalists is to permanently shut the gate that allows individuals to make a fortune, move upwards and join them, thus diluting further the precious “resources” that they see as their rightful due.

They are well aware that there is not enough to go around, so their aims are first to gain absolute control of the planet and its resources, then to shut the gate and finally to eliminate the 80% of useless mouths that they see as unnecessary to provide them with their requirements. ( the latter is a1995 conference stated aim).
communism and islam are merely tools of control for the elite as is obvious if you look at Saudi princes and CPC elite. At least the soviets tried, if only a little, by comparison.

      • There are two episodes of Stargate SG1 that something makes me think of every day. Its the two with the aliens that create a vaccine to eliminate all disease on earth for us, that creates a temporary paradise until our population falls to the point where our histories and knowledge of ourselves can be erased to the point where the few percent of the remainders are slaves to the aliens.

      • I agree. He’s a psychopath of the perverse type. I would compare him to Hitler although Hitler had no money, per se, and Bill has more than enough money. It’s all about domination.

I do know because of lockdowns, shutdowns, whatever you want to call them, I had a detached retina, waited for months to get to see a specialist, I was operated on immediately, unfortunately I have nerve damage because of the long wait. I have met people who have paid with their lives because of the lockdowns. Some day we may learn the REAL impact of this “pandemic “ and I think the cure may outperform the actual disease.

    • It was probably during or after the Clinton administration, Gates donated a couple of thousand dollars to the Dems but otherwise ignored politics. During the 90s the Clinton’s sicked the DOJ on Gates/Microsoft and encouraged the Western European countries to do the same. Gates ended up donated large sums of money to the DNC and his legal problems went away.

My guess is that he decided that if he was going to bankroll the movement he should have a large say in what was done and that they required him to move very far left and become a left wing Oligarch.

  5. February 18 2021 German police crack down on Berlin organized crime families
Hundreds of German police and other investigators raided more than 20 buildings in Berlin and the surrounding state of Brandenburg early Thursday in a crackdown on two feuding organized crime families, authorities said.

Two people, a 44-year-old and a 22-year-old, were arrested, police said. No names were given in line with German privacy laws.

Police were investigating illegal drug and weapons trafficking, as well as bodily harm charges linked to a “clash of clans” between an Arab and a Chechen organized crime family last November, prosecutors said in a joint statement with police. At that time, there were several violent confrontations between the two organizations.
The 44-year-old arrested is alleged to have been part of at least one fracas despite being monitored through an electronic anklet, authorities said.

In addition to being suspected of causing bodily harm, the 44-year-old is accused of weapons violations as well as running a marijuana plantation and operating a cocaine delivery service.

The 22-year-old faces drug and weapons charges, as does another 22-year-old suspect who is being sought, police said.

Berlin’s top security official, state Interior Minister Andreas Geisel, said the raids showed that authorities were keeping a pledge to crack down on organized crime in the capital.

“These searches and arrests show we are sticking to it,” he said. “We are not relenting in our systematic fight against organized crime, regardless of who is behind it.”

Berlin police said that in addition to their own SWAT teams and other personnel, federal agents, Brandenburg police and tax officials were involved in the raids, more than 500 personnel in all.

Authorities did not provide further details, but the Bild newspaper reported that one of the targets was the Remmo family, which has alleged links to two recent spectacular heists.

Two of the main suspects in the 2019 theft of 18th-century jewels from a Dresden museum last year are part of the family, which has ties to Beirut.

Mohamed Remmo, 21, was arrested by Berlin authorities in December in connection with the Green Vault Museum theft, while his twin brother, Abdul Majed Remmo, is being sought on an international warrant.
Other members of the Remmo family were convicted last year for a similarly spectacular heist, the theft of a 100-kilogram (220 pound) Canadian gold coin dubbed the “Big Maple Leaf” from Berlin’s Bode Museum in 2017.

The coin, with an estimated value of 3.75 million euros ($4.45 million) has not yet been recovered and authorities think it was likely cut up into smaller pieces and sold off.

  6. Daesh Women Suing Sweden for ‘Violation of Human Rights’ (sputniknews, Feb 20, 2021)

“Sweden has been under pressure from the United Nations, who called on Stockholm to apply itself and take women and children with Swedish citizenship back from internment camps in Syria.

A number of former Daesh* brides currently stuck in internment camps in Syria are now suing Sweden in the European Court of Justice for “failure” to bring them “home”, which they consider a “serious violation” of their human rights.

“We believe that Sweden’s failure to bring Swedish women and children from the camps in northeastern Syria violates their human rights. As representatives of a number of women and children in the Roj camp, we therefore complain to the European Court of Justice and claim that Sweden has a human rights obligation to bring them home to Sweden”, the head of their legal team, Percy Bratt, wrote in an opinion piece in the legal newspaper Dagens Juridik, calling their situation “life-threatening”.

The legal crew described the conditions at the al-Hol and Roj camps in northeastern Syria as “inhumane”, citing physical and sexual violence, lack of basic food products, poor sanitation, and inadequate medical care and referring to UN Special Envoy Fionnuala Ni Aolain equating it with torture.

The United Nations previously claimed that Sweden has a human rights obligation to retrieve former jihadis with Swedish passports, and Bratt now hopes the government will do so voluntarily.

“Hopefully, Sweden will soon respond to the call from the UN to take responsibility and help these people [return] home. The Swedish women and children in the camps are completely dependent on the Swedish state’s intervention to save them from the terrible situation they are in”, Bratt wrote.

The legal crew emphasised that the Foreign Ministry is as of today neither actively working for, nor interested in helping these women return to Sweden. By contrast, it stressed, several European states have complied with the UN’s demands and the requests by the Kurdish administration that controls the camps to bring home both women and children. For example, Germany and Finland did so as recently as December 2020, it emphasised.

Given that a child who has a parent with Swedish citizenship automatically becomes a Swedish citizen as well, regardless of where in the world it is born, Sweden has made several attempts to bring back its children from camps in Syria. Most notably, in the spring of 2019, when notorious Daesh recruiter Michael Skråmo’s seven children were taken back to Sweden, which spurred a debate among both politicians and the general public.

A large proportion of the children in the camps were born after their mothers joined Daesh. Some of the women have since remarried or formed new families since their former husbands were killed. This has made it an extra difficult task for the Swedish authorities to determine exactly which children have Swedish citizenship.

The fate of “Daesh brides” and their offspring remains a sensitive issue in many European countries, even resulting in the collapse of political alliances, as the Norwegian Progress Party left the government following a controversial decision to repatriate a former Daesh bride.

At the time of Daesh’s so-called “caliphate”, 300 Islamists left Sweden to join the jihadists’ cause in the Middle East, some of the highest per capita in Europe. While about half of them have already returned, Sweden has been notoriously lax at making the returnees accountable for crimes committed. Due to the heavy burden of proof, charges are seldom pressed. Instead, Sweden relies on various “de-radicalisation” programmes that feature counseling and assistance.

  7. The Kenya Catholic Doctors Association is charging UNICEF and the WHO with sterilizing millions of girls and women under the cover of anti-tetanus vaccine sponsored by the Kenyan government……all six samples tested positive for HCG antigen. The HCG antigen is used in anti-fertility vaccines, but was found present in tetanus vaccine targeted to young girls and women of childbearing age. Dr. Ngare, spokesman for the Kenyan Doctors Association, stated in a bulletin released Nov.4th.

This proved right our worst fears; that this WHO campaign is not about eradicating neonatal tetanus but a well-coordinated forceful population control mass sterilization exercise using a proven regulating vaccine. The evidence was presented to the Ministry of Health but was ignored.

Why would a tetanus campaign target only women between 19 and 49? No young girls, boys or men received the vaccine.

This has previously be used by the same partners in Philippines, Nicaragra and Mexico. the vaccines are free through the Bill and Melinda Foundation.

This week we learned that Vice President Kamala Harris spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron by phone on 15 February, an unusual move for foreign policy execution in the modern era. When personal contact between national leaders is a matter of merely picking up the phone, it is not the drama it was in centuries past of envoys and surrogates – especially in the case of close allies and “great power” cub members.

According to the readout of the phone call, it was certainly a foreign policy communication:

  11. SKY NEWS AUSTRALIA – ‘Never before’ has the leader of the free world been ‘so cognitively compromised’

It is clear US President Joe Biden is not up to the task he has been “sworn in to do”, according to Sky News host Cory Bernardi.

“Never before has the leader of the free world been so cognitively compromised,” Mr Bernardi said

“It’s clear to me at the least that US President Joe Biden is struggling with dementia and is clearly not up to the task he’s been sworn in to do.”

Mr Bernardi said it is something which was “evident” during the election campaign, but the “partisan and poisonous” mainstream media chose not to highlight anything which could have “derailed a Biden victory”.

“Even now, after he has been sworn in, many of them are still refusing to speak the truth about Biden’s lack of capacity.”

Joe Biden recently emerged to make his “sanitised” Presidential Town Hall Debut, at which the new president “promptly gave away his teleprompter”.

“The result was nothing short of a disaster … it was littered with total falsehoods,” Mr Bernardi said.

“It’s all rather pathetic, but even usually smart people are blinded by the nonsense put out by the mainstream media. They believe every perceived sin of Donald Trump while they seem intent on canonizing St. Joe.”

  12. PJ MEDIA – Our Descent Into Collective Madness

These are crazy times. A pandemic led to national quarantine; to self-induced recession; to riot, arson, and looting; to a contested election; and to a riot at the U.S. Capitol.

In response, are we focusing solely on upping the daily vaccination rate? Getting the country back to work? Opening the schools as the virus attenuates? Ensuring safety in the streets?

Or are we descending into a sort of madness?

It might have been understandable that trillions of dollars had to be borrowed to keep a suffocating economy breathing.

But it makes little sense to keep borrowing $2 trillion a year to prime an economy now set to roar back with herd-like immunity on the horizon.

Trillions of dollars in stimulus are already priming the economy.

Cabin-feverish Americans are poised to get out of their homes to travel, eat out and socialize as never before.

Meanwhile, the United States will have to start paying down nearly $30 trillion in debt. But we seem more fixated on raising rather than reducing that astronomical obligation.

We are told man-made, worldwide climate change — as in the now-discarded term “global warming” — can best be addressed by massive dislocations in the U.S. economy.

The Biden administration plans to shut down coal plants. It will halt even nearly completed new gas and oil pipelines. It will cut back on fracking to embrace the multitrillion-dollar “Green New Deal.”

Biden’s Climate Orders Will Flip America’s National Security on Its Head
Americans should pause and examine the utter disaster that unfolded recently in Texas and its environs.

Parts of the American Southwest were covered in ice and snow for days. Nighttime temperatures crashed to near zero in some places.

The state, under pressure, had been transitioning from its near-limitless and cheap reservoirs of natural gas and other fossil fuels to generating power through wind and solar.

But what happens to millions of Texans when wind turbines freeze up while storm clouds extinguish solar power?

We are witnessing the answer in oil- and gas-rich but energy-poor Texas that is all but shut down.

Millions are shivering without electricity and affordable heating. Some may die or become ill by this self-induced disaster — one fueled by man-made ideological rigidity.

Texas’ use of natural gas in power generation has helped the United States curb carbon emissions. Ignoring it for unreliable wind and solar alternatives was bound to have catastrophic consequences whenever a politically incorrect nature did not follow the global warming script.

In 2019, a special counsel wrapped up a 22-month, $35 million investigation into then-President Donald Trump’s alleged “collusion” with Russia in the 2016 election. Robert Mueller and his team searched long and hard for a crime and came up empty.

Then, Trump was impeached in December 2019 and acquitted in the Senate in early 2020. His purported crime was warning the Ukrainians about the Biden family’s quid pro quo racketeering.

After the revelations concerning Hunter Biden’s shenanigans not only in Ukraine but also in Kazakhstan and China, Trump’s admonitions now seem prescient rather than impeachable.

Trump had been threatened with removal from office under the 25th Amendment. He was accused of violating the Logan Act and the Constitution’s emoluments clause. His executive orders were often declared unconstitutional if not seditious.

DOJ Subpoena Seeks Hunter Biden Docs on Burisma, Media Hardest Hit
All these oppositional measures predictably failed to receive either public or congressional support.

Finally, an exasperated left decided to flog the presidential corpse of now private citizen Trump. It did so without a Supreme Court chief justice to oversee an impeachment trial in the Senate. The targeted president was no longer president.

There was no special prosecutor, little debate and even less cross-examination. In the end, the second impeachment was sillier than the first. But, like the first, the show trial wasted precious time and resources in the midst of a pandemic.

But the height of our collective madness is the current cancel culture. Its subtexts are “unearned white privilege” and “white supremacy.”

In the name of those abominations, mobs tear down statues, destroy careers, censor speech, require veritable oaths and conduct reeducation training.

Stranger still, those alleging “white privilege” are usually themselves quite wealthy, liberal — and white. These elites count on their incestuous networking, silver-spoon upbringings and tony degrees to leverage status, influence and money in a way undreamed of by the white working class.

Affluent and privileged minorities likewise join the chorus to call for everything from reparations to “reprogramming” Trump voters.

The most elite in America are the most likely to damn the privilege of those who lack it. Perhaps this illogic squares the psychological circle of feeling guilty about things they never have any intention of giving up.

If blaming those without advantages does not satisfy the unhappy liberal elite, then there is always warring against the mute dead: changing their eponymous names, destroying their statues, slandering their memories and denying their achievements.

The common denominator with all these absurdities? An ungracious and neurotic elite whose judgment is bankrupt and whose privilege is paid for by those who don’t have it.

The chairman of a blue-ribbon commission working with the United Nations and the World Health Organization to investigate the origins of the coronavirus pandemic has a history of praising and working with China while criticizing the U.S. government.

Jeffrey Sachs, a Columbia economist, formed the Lancet COVID-19 Commission, affiliated with the prominent British medical journal of the same name, in July 2020 to investigate the virus’s origins.

  16. ‘We Have Been Treated Like Criminals’ Complain Migrants Who Entered Britain Illegally (breitbart, Feb 20, 2021)

“Asylum seekers who were previously housed at taxpayer expense in a former British military accommodation in Folkestone, Kent have complained that they were “treated like criminals”.

The Napier Barracks has been used by the Home Office to house some 400 illegal migrant men while their asylum claims were being processed.

However, following outbreaks of the Chinese coronavirus amidst widespread flouting of the pandemic regulations, most of the migrants were moved out of the facility and into hotels across the country — free of charge — with only 63 migrants remaining in the camp.

Speaking to Sky News, one of the former inhabitants of the camp, Iranian migrant Majid, complained of the conditions in the facility which used to house British soldiers.

“I saw several people attempt suicide and others were self-harming. They were desperate, afraid,” he claimed.

“We’ve been treated like criminals and we don’t know what we’ve done to deserve that,” he said, apparently not considering the fact that most Channel migrants make use of criminal people-smuggler networks to illegally enter British territory.

“When I first got there, it was like a prison. You could see all the fences and the security guards walking around. It was really shocking for me. Twenty-eight people were in each block with just two toilets and two showers in a block,” the Iranian migrant claimed.

Majid, who has since been put up in a hotel in London, said that an arson attack — which was allegedly set by migrants in the camp — was understandable due to the frustration among the inhabitants.

“I was in my room and I heard my friend say one of the blocks is on fire,” he said. “When I went out, I saw the roof was completely covered in huge flames.

“I felt really unsafe and it really traumatised me, seeing the fire, seeing the fear in everyone’s eyes,” he claimed.

Another migrant in the camp, Mohamed, said that tensions rose amid the lack of social distancing, explaining: “We were so shocked at the state of the barracks and it was this frustration that boiled over.”

“The security officers treated us very badly,” he alleged. “They didn’t want to hear from us, and we weren’t allowed to speak to anyone in authority.

On Wednesday, allegations that the barracks were “not suitable” to be used during a pandemic were put to the High Court — despite the fact social distancing does not appear to be an issue for migrants crowding into small boats to cross the English Channel in the first place — and the court has said it will allow a judicial review demanded by six migrants to go forward.

The migrants are arguing that the Home Office violated their human rights by using the ex-military facility as they claimed the conditions considered acceptable for serving soldiers were too poor for them.

The Home Office denied the accusations, with immigration compliance minister Chris Philp stating: “Napier has previously accommodated Army personnel and it is wrong to say it is not adequate for asylum seekers.

“The department takes the welfare of those in our care extremely seriously and are working closely with our providers and with Public Health England to ensure that any individuals who have to self-isolate can do so and are following all medical advice closely.”

Amid record-breaking illegal boat migration, the Home Office began housing migrants, some of whom were lethally violent, in hotels across the country, a phenomenon brought to light in large part by Brexit leader Nigel Farage.

As the waves of illegal migrants continued to pour into the country, the government began using former military bases, such as the Napier barracks, to accommodate the overflowing migrant population.

Responding to the complaints from migrants about the conditions in the camp, Mr Farage said on Tuesday: “It almost beggars belief that this is going on in court… and you can bet your life that the next time we get a spell of calm weather the dinghies will start crossing the Channel again and not a single person will be turned around and sent back.”

    – Raytheon Awarded $49 Million DoD Contract Weeks After Former Board Member Lloyd Austin Confirmed as Defense Secretary –

This sidesteps Austin’s pledge to divest from Raytheon.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stands to profit from a new Department of Defense contract with arms contractor Raytheon, even after he promised to divest from Raytheon holdings he acquired as a civilian.

A new $49 million contract was awarded to Raytheon last week, just weeks after the company’s former board member Lloyd Austin was confirmed as the new Secretary of Defense. The contract is for engines for VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) aircraft.

Austin joined the board of Raytheon Technologies in 2016, the same year he retired from the armed forces. As of 2020, his disclosed Raytheon stock and compensation holdings amount to more than $1.4 million, and it’s likely he’ll sell his Raytheon shares at an inflated price due to the latest contract while in office as Secretary of Defense.

  18. Germany: COVID sceptics booed at “silent march” against pandemic restrix in Berlin

COVID sceptics were booed by some locals as they held a so-called ‘silent march’ in Berlin on Saturday.

The protesters who marched through the city’s district of Schoneberg were met with disapproval by some residents who staged a smaller counter-demonstration.

Protesters with divisions of police officers could be seen walking towards Potsdamer Platz. No incidents have been reported.

Chancellor Angela Merkel announced that most of the current restrictions in Germany would remain in place until at least March 7 to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Hairdressers will be permitted to reopen from March first, under strict rules, while the federal states will also be able to decide when to reopen their schools, with several announcing plans to do so before the end of February.

Hundreds of coronavirus-sceptics took to the streets of Melbourne on Saturday to demonstrate against the vaccine rollout they understood as mandatory.

A large number of police officers apprehended a demonstrator in the middle of the street, restraining him on the floor and scattering the crowds threatening to use pepper spray against them.

Protesters held various signs with messages such as “Experiment or vaccine?” as they chanted slogans saying “We will not comply.”

Independent Member of Parliament in Victoria Catherine Cumming was booed by the audience during her intervention on stage at Fawkner Park when she suggested maintaining social distancing during the protest.

“I am pro-vaccine, but I am also pro-medical consent,” she stated before a spontaneous protester came on stage interrupting the speech while the audience was booing the speaker.

After tossing life vests into the water, coast guard and police officers helped the struggling travelers aboard.

A coast guard helicopter based in Sicily and other coast guard and border police motorboats searched the area in case anyone was missing.

Italian state radio said five people were possibly missing but that there was no official confirmation.

Human traffickers based in Libya and Tunisia launch overcrowded, unseaworthy rubber dinghies and aging fishing boats toward European shores. The migrants, coming from Africa, the Middle East and Asia, are hoping to find family members or jobs in Europe.

Over the last several years, hundreds of thousands of migrants have reached Italy either on their own or after being rescued at sea.”
