Reader’s Links for January 12, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. The noise has become deafening, crescendoing since the election and up to the 20th. They are knocking out our tanks, now, at a furious pace to ensure no surprises before inauguration. PT, James Woods, and on through the list of conservative opinion leaders, their voices silenced or limited. Since the battle space is largely enemy controlled, entering it requires a creative approach.

    • You got that right, there is little to no true right wing violence.

I am sure you have heard the reports of armed demonstrations planned for January 20th, while this is possible I don’t see how that would work in the heavy gun control states. For that matter are the reports true or more propaganda to make the Second Amendment supporters look bad?

      • Thing is, even if some right-wing splinter group wanted to replicate the false flag the deep left state perpetrated against the PT rally, it would be impossible because this requires a complicit msm to amplify and deliver, as we all saw.

    • This is so one sided it makes the Nazi invasion of Poland (aided and abetted by the soviets) look like a real war ( not meant as an insult but compared to the war vs the USSR) while the same tactics the Nazis used are being used, before, during and after the war. I await the arrest of anyone for simply raising their voice in dissent as removal of leaders or potential leaders is one of the first steps.
One cannot say that the Left have learnt well as it was the tactics used by the communists that the Nazis copied. If we ever force the Left out via violence can we expect to see them first shooting all political prisoners before they evacuate a prison( an infamous communist habit)? Do they realize or care about just how closely they ae following Stalin?

      • “…so one-sided…”

True past sad. The naive and vulnerable west, fattened on sweet debt. Time to toughen up voluntarily, or be toughened involuntarily.

        • Are you serious? To make the comfortable couch potatoes stand up and ignore their TV, play stations, alcohol, drugs etc. willingly is near impossible. In the armed forces it is well know that training the volunteer willing is hard enough without the oft near impossible training of the conscripted unwilling. Current generations have never been hardened by life compared to the pre WW2 generations. Even in Vietnam this was patently obvious but all the west did was make people more comfortable and unwilling to make an effort. In the KLs the wealthy and the middle classes died like flies and almost none survived but those who arrived street wise and were used to hard work at least had a chance.
Toughing up involuntarily will have a mortality > 50% IMO
Dying for what you believe in is no longer trendy unless you are a brainwashed muslim loser.
I am beginning to feel like Sisyphus did.

          • Actually, when writing this I was thinking of my own children. As for the rest, well, you got me there.

          • For years my suspicion has been the difference between previous communist revolutions and this one, is that in the past, communists have used hard times to trick people into getting on board to get what they don’t have.

What is both shocking and effective about this one, is they threaten to take away what you DO have no if you oppose them in any way at all. No one saw that coming.

No one could have imagined, from our side at least, that people would not fight to defend a system that allowed them to get everything for themselves, and instead, let the enemy intimidate them into taking over by threatening to take away their toys.

But that’s where we are at.

          • There are still people willing to work and fight in the rural areas in Middle America, hopefully there are enough of them to win the coming chaos.

            • Any attempt to organize will be dealt with harshly by the traitors soon to be in charge. They are prepared to kill as well as cheat and lie but initially it will not be obvious, just a run of suicides and accidents for any such leadership.

              • And seeing as how getting hit by a bus is now listed as a Covid death, we can see how that will be done. The weapon purpose of Covid becomes clear. People who die of suicide in Ontario are listed as Covid deaths, I think if they test positive with a PCR at or months before the death.

So now we get how Covid can be a surgical weapon. You kill someone who is a threat to this commie revolution, and then list it as a death by Wuhan Flu.

              • The organizing will be done in small groups the neighborhood protection groups in the Suburbs. The various veterans groups that meet to talk about old times things like that. It won’t be an open militia training group.

              • Read the book the Great Escape or watch the movie, granted the people in the POW camp were already organized in a military unit but look at what they did under the noses of the Germans. Do you think that the people who are going to be resisting the left don’t know that they will be watched? Do you think they don’ t have brains enough to figure out ways around the surveillance? The people who will be doing this aren’t stupid they are all smart, some of the very smart, and some of them are well trained on raising and training guerilla units and in counter guerilla tactics.

      • They know how closely they are following Stalin and Mao, they are deliberately following them, after all the tactics worked in the past they should work again.

    • More of a comment about humans generally as the communists were the ones who discovered the 5% rule (in Korean POW camps >> remove the dominant 5% and the other 95% mull around like headless chickens and make no concerted ,organized attempts at resistance or escape)

    • Several years ago I remember seeing a video about how one group of cyber security people hacked a car and took control of everything including the steering wheel while the car was moving.

  2. “Only gay actors should play gay characters in film and television, critically-acclaimed screenwriter Russell T Davies has insisted.

Davies said all the gay characters in his upcoming Channel 4 drama It’s A Sin are played by gay actors because it is the only way to ensure an authentic portrayal.

The series follows the tragic stories of three gay 18-year-olds who arrive in London in 1981, at the beginning of the HIV epidemic, and its star-studded cast includes Olly Alexander, Neil Patrick Harris, and Stephen Fry.”
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9136573/Only-gay-actors-play-gay-characters-says-former-Doctor-screenwriter-Russell-T-Davies.html

And only Gays should be allowed to watch Gay Movies. Solved.

Otherwise, tragedy becomes a virtue. And an audience misled.

    • Poppy crop fail?
Just ask the oil rich Arab states for money and problem solved. After all: fellow Sunni state etc.
Seriously, have a look at how much they all gave Aceh Province after the tsunami: USA 8 billion, Australia 2 billion, Iran 500k and the others little better. Altruism has no part in islam and they only give money to muslims in western countries to increase the rot there. I add that a member of our family went there as part of the aid and they spat at her.

  3. Mitigating vulnerabilities by understanding the information space. Vetting sources includes sticking with those that are proven and known, and avoiding the new and unknown. This is an aspect that Yucki and Eeyore have repeatedly brought to the fore by identifying disinformation sources. Mistakes are made regularly. It’s tricky ground.

    • That is the problem we are having, we are seeing so many propaganda efforts to make us believe what we wish were true is really happening.

At least 14 people who President-elect Joe Biden has picked to serve either in his administration or to advise his transition have worked for the Big Tech firms that cracked down earlier this week on President Donald Trump and a social media site popular with conservatives.

Apple’s top lobbyist was a chief adviser to the Biden transition team. A former Facebook executive will serve as staff director in the Biden White House, and a former Twitter executive will serve as chief spokesperson for the National Security Council under Biden.

Current and former executives at those firms and two others, Google and Amazon, fill out other positions in the incoming Biden administration, or his transition team.

The five tech giants all took action this week against Trump and Parler, the social media site, in response to riots at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.

    • If Trump was getting a second term we would continue into space, Biden is sure to cancel the US government space program so it is up to the private space programs to develop the technology to put this into orbit at a cost effective price.

    • German Historian, Hans Mommsen

“How could so many people – 6 million Jews and 5 million others, a number impossible to imagine — from all over Europe be murdered in so short a time? Did anyone oppose the Nazis? Did anyone come to assist the Jews? Did the Jews try to fight back?

Resistance, in many ways was impossible for the Jews, and it was extremely difficult for citizens in occupied countries. There was LITTLE ACCESS TO WEAPONS, almost no ability to move about freely and a majority of the population that for various reasons was interested in resisting the Nazis. Open conflict, was not a wise alternative, since it almost always resulted in the death of oneself or others.

‘Resistance without people’ and the number of Germans who engaged in the resistance to the Nazi regime was very small. Seventy seven thousand Germans were executed for one or another form of resistance by special courts, court martial, People’s Courts and the Civil Justice System.”

    • Now we know the truth about and the reason for the story about there being armed protests scheduled in all State Capitals as well as DC on January 20th. This was released to 1) make the Right look bad and to give the Deep State an excuse to put up fencing and have troops and police in combat gear patrolling DC. This is a massive photo op for the Propaganda media to spread BS about the people who don’t like their elections being stolen.

The police in combat gear and the Guard in combat gear also give the impression that things are so grave that Martial Law has been declared. There are a lot or rumors running around about Martial Law, this will drive the nutty conspiracy theorists to new highest.

      • There is a good side to this, it scales back and takes a lot of the grandure away from Biden’s inauguration. Bad Optics for the Right but also bad optics for Biden, Trump is playing hardball. 10. Pompeo Accuses Iran of Harboring Al-Qaeda, Confirms Death of Group’s Second-in-Command (sputniknews, Jan 12, 2021)
    https://sputniknews.com/us/202101121081745434-pompeo-accuses-iran-of-harboring-al-qaeda-confirms-death-of-groups-second-in-command/

“US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday accused Iran of harboring al-Qaeda (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) and for the first time publicly confirmed the death of the group’s high-ranking member Abu Muhammad al-Masri in Tehran.

“Al-Qaeda has a new home base – it is the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Pompeo said speaking at the National Press Club. “We ignored this Iran-al-Qaeda nexus at our own peril. We need to acknowledge it, we must confront it, indeed, we must defeat it.”

He confirmed media reports of al-Masri’s death in Tehran on 7 August, but provided no additional details. The second-highest al-Qaeda operative was linked to terror attacks that claimed about 200 lives, including the 1998 bombings of US diplomatic missions in Kenya and Tanzania. The New York Times said that al-Masri was killed by Israeli agents.

According to Pompeo, al-Qaeda operatives found a refuge in Iran following the 9/11 terrorist attacks which prompted the US to start chasing them globally, but were initially put under “virtual house arrest.”

“Indeed, everything changed in 2015, the same year that the Obama administration and the E-3, France, Germany, Britain, were in the middle of finalizing the JCPOA [Iranian nuclear deal],” Pompeo said. “Iran decided to allow al-Qaeda to establish a new operational headquarters on the condition that al-Qaeda operatives abide by the regime’s rules, governing al-Qaeda’s stay inside the country.”

Pompeo alleged that since 2015, Iran has given al-Qaeda leadership greater freedom of movement.

“The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security and the IRGC have provided safe havens and logistical support, things like travel documents, ID cards, passports, that enable al-Qaeda activity,” he added. “As a result of assistance al-Qaeda has centralized its leadership inside of Tehran.”

He announced sanctions against two allegedly Iran-based al-Qaeda leaders, Muhammad Abbatay (also known as Abd al-Rahman al-Maghrebi) and Sultan Yusuf Hasan al-‘Arif, as well as Isma’il Fu’ad Rasul Ahmed, Fuad Ahmad Nuri Ali al-Shakhan, and Niamat Hama Rahim Hama Sharif, three commanders of al-Qaeda Kurdish Battalions” that operate on a border between Iran and Iraq.

Pompeo also offered a reward of up to $7 million under the State Department’s ‘Rewards for Justice’ Program for information that leads to location or identification of Al-Maghrebi.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif responded via Twitter that Pompeo “is pathetically ending his disastrous career with more warmongering lies.” He mocked the outgoing Secretary of State as Mr. “we lie, cheat, steal.””

Singapore is gloating because it’s clotted with a hodge-podge of ethnicities, religions, and languages while Japan remains fiercely Japanese. Not nice! – says corporate global !

Singapore functions ONLY because it’s a [benevolent] dictatorship, with absolute control. Surveillance is as tight as in much of China, but the “watchers” are nice. Things work.[*]

Since Singapore ALSO has an aging demographic, it imports masses of temporary, foreign laborers. They live in squalid, heavily-guarded, contained districts. Better shut up and behave, or else. NGOs aren’t welcome.

We, the USA, wrote the Japanese Constitution, so freedom of expression and association are baked in. Control is a shared sense of community, responsibility. Not perfect, but the flaws are organically Japanese.

  13. Idaho Internet Provider Blocks Access to Twitter, Facebook to Customers Who Request It

A North Idaho Internet provider blocked access to Twitter and Facebook at its customers’ requests.

According to emails sent to customers over the weekend, Your T1 WIFI—which provides services in the Spokane and northern Idaho areas—said it received phone calls from customers after those websites moved to block certain types of content and suspended accounts associated with President Donald Trump.

“It has come to our attention that Twitter and Facebook are engaged in censorship of our customers and information,” an email to Your T1 WIFI customers said.

“We have the past couple days been fielding calls from customers voicing the concern that they do not want these sites allowed to be displayed on their internet feed…and that they do not want their children to go to these sites,” the email added. “They could do this themselves but some do not have the technical knowledge to do so and it would be very tiresome for us to do it for them and it would be expensive to visit each customer that wants this done.”

Bret Fink, the owner of Your T1 WiFi, told Newsweek that the emails are authentic. Customers had requested that Twitter and Facebook become “inaccessible” in their households, Fink said.

“Do you denounce the violence at the Capitol Building?”

Any talking head on radio or TV must now first answer that question in the affirmative before they are allowed to express an opinion. The whole paradigm infers, naturally, that the default position of Trump supporters is to encourage violence. Empirical evidence, of course, tells us the exact opposite. Indeed, the behavior of the MAGA masses at every peaceful rally, every boat parade and every convoy in 2020 is a testament to that reality. The eyewitnesses among the over 500,000 people who gathered at the MAGA rally on the National Mall on January 6 have also related something quite telling: that they actually had absolutely no clue about what went on at the Capitol Building — until they finally got a signal on their phones or went back to their hotels and saw it on the TV.

Listen carefully to one of the eyewitnesses here:

President Trump has promised an orderly transition for January 20 but that event obliges no one to accept the incoming administration as legitimate. For all but the willfully blind, Democrat operatives stole the election and on January 6 Mike Pence nixed the last prospect for an official recount. That has led many to wonder how they should perceive the duo slated to take power. France’s World War II Vichy regime provides some helpful parallels.

That regime emerged from the Franco-German Armistice of June 22, 1940, and made France the puppet state of Nazi Germany. In the case of Biden-Harris the dominate power is China, one of the most murderous regimes in history. During Mao’s Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution, the Communist regime killed scores of millions, far surpassing Stalin and Hitler.

At Tiananmen Square in 1989 the Chinese people stood up for freedom and human rights. As American politicians looked the other way, betrayed the people, and pushed for China’s inclusion in the World Trade Organization. That was supposed to make the regime more liberal, but it only became more repressive, and China quickly exploited the United States for its own advantage.

The media, politicians and the D.C. swamp haven’t got a clue what the people think and feel. As a matter of fact, they are always dead wrong about everything.

Let’s start with my personal experiences on Wednesday morning. As the leading conservative radio host in Las Vegas, with the powerhouse afternoon-drive radio show on KBET 790, I called for a Trump car parade to celebrate President Donald Trump and show the media how we felt about the obviously stolen election.

Thousands of cars and an estimated 10,000 people showed up. Pound for pound (per capita), this might be the biggest turnout for President Trump in all of America — in a town never known for politics, let alone conservative politics, and in a state that Democrats and the media claim Trump lost.

Last time President-elect Joe Biden showed up here, 20 people showed up for him. A Biden car parade later in the day attracted a few dozen cars.

At my parade, thousands of cars adorned with American flags and Trump flags dominated the world-famous Las Vegas Strip for three hours. As usual, this outpouring of love and support for Trump went unrecorded by the media. There was barely a mention on any local TV news program, no mention in the Vegas newspaper..

    https://www.thedefensepost.com/2021/01/12/afghanistan-foils-plan-assassinate-us-envoy/

“Afghan authorities said Tuesday they had foiled a plan by the jihadist Islamic State group to assassinate the top US envoy in Kabul, as a wave of targeted killings continues to rock the country.

Intelligence officers dismantled a four-member IS cell in the eastern province of Nangarhar that had planned to murder Ross Wilson as well as Afghan officials, the National Directorate of Security said.

Wilson, the US Charge d’Affaires in Kabul, has steadfastly condemned a series of assassinations in the capital and other cities of prominent Afghans including journalists, activists, and politicians in recent months.

“The main assassin and facilitator of the cell, Abdul Wahed, had planned to assassinate the US ambassador in Afghanistan as well as some high ranking Afghan officials,” the NDS said in a statement. “Their plan was foiled with their arrest.”

The NDS did not offer further details and the US embassy in Kabul did not respond to requests for comment…”

  18. Iran Must Undo Uranium Enrichment, Help Nuclear Diplomacy, EU Says
    https://english.aawsat.com/home/article/2736551/iran-must-undo-uranium-enrichment-help-nuclear-diplomacy-eu-says

“The official supervising the agreement aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions is warning that Tehran’s decision to ramp up uranium enrichment could undermine efforts to keep the deal alive amid diplomatic efforts to bring the United States back on board.

European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said Iran’s intention to enrich uranium up to 20% at the Fordow underground nuclear facility “is a very serious development and a matter of deep concern,” and “has very severe proliferation implications.”

Last week, Iran began enriching uranium to levels unseen since the deal was struck in 2015.

Iran has argued that it is no longer obliged to respect limits laid out in the pact, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, because President Donald Trump violated it first by pulling the United States out of the deal in 2018, which resulted in crippling sanctions on Iran’s moribund economy.

The deal offers Iran economic incentives in exchange for curbs on its nuclear program, but with the reinstatement of American sanctions, the other signatories — China, France, Germany, Russia and the UK — have struggled to provide Iran the assistance it seeks.

President-elect Joe Biden has said he hopes to return the US to the deal, which was negotiated while he was vice president. Borrell and the other countries would welcome such a move.

“At this critical juncture, Iran’s action also risks undermining efforts aimed at building upon the existing diplomatic process. We urge Iran to refrain from further escalation and reverse this course of action without delay,” Borrell said in his statement, released late Monday.

He said that full and timely cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency “remains critical.”

Borrell added that the EU looks “forward to working with the incoming US administration.”

Despite Iran’s violations, the IAEA has reported that Tehran continues to give inspectors full access to its nuclear sites — a key reason the signatories say it is worth preserving.

    Iran demands end to ‘snapback’

Iran demands the removal of the so-called snapback mechanism in the nuclear accord, which could revive all UN sanctions against Tehran, in the event of new talks with world powers, a senior aide to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said.

The deal includes the option of a snapback of UN sanctions if Iran breaches the deal, requiring Tehran to suspend all nuclear enrichment-related and reprocessing activities, including research development.

“This (trigger) mechanism must be abandoned as an irrational principle in the event of further negotiations,” Ali Akbar Velayati, a top adviser to Khamenei, said in an interview posted on the Supreme Leader’s website.

“From the beginning, the Supreme Leader was not satisfied with the issue of the trigger mechanism and this was done against his will,” said Velayati, a former foreign minister.”

Millions of Americans were shocked when big tech companies went after conservatives online. Perhaps the most galling move was when Amazon took down the social network Parler.

Google and Apple removed the site’s app from their stores, preventing new users from signing up. Then Amazon, which hosted the service, pulled the plug.
