Reader’s Links for November 24, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Tigray Forces Claim to Have ‘Completely Destroyed’ an Ethiopian Army Division (sputniknews, Nov 24, 2020)

“An armed conflict between Ethiopia’s government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) started earlier in November after the government accused Tigray forces of conducting an attack on a military base in the region.

The Tigray forces on Tuesday announced that they had “completely destroyed” the 21st mechanised division of the Ethiopian Army.

The Ethiopian government has commented on the claim yet.

Earlier in the day, Alsir Khaled, the head of Sudan’s refugee agency in the eastern border town of Kassala, said that more than 45,000 people had fled Ethiopia since the start of the armed conflict in the Tigray region.

  2. Sweden Seeks Mandatory Daycare Amid Reports of Migrant Children’s Scanty Language Skills (sputniknews, Nov 24, 2020)

“According to a fresh report, half of six-year-olds at preschools in Stockholm’s Järva, which has a high proportion of immigrants, speak poor Swedish and thus risk falling behind in the education process.

Following the alarm about the lack of Swedish skills among immigrant children, the government’s investigators have proposed to introduce compulsory preschool for all Swedish children starting from the age of five, the newspaper Aftonbladet reported.

The drastic proposal means that compulsory schooling, as a rule, will begin in preschool in the autumn term of the year when the child turns five.

The government’s investigators have been tasked with submitting proposals in order to “increase participation” in preschool among children aged 3-5 and strengthen the children’s command of Swedish, specifically with regard to newly arrived children.

In addition to the said obligation, it has also been proposed that municipalities should be obliged to “conduct outreach activities” in order to increase preschool participation.

It will also be mandatory for municipalities to offer preschool to all children who need to get “better language development in Swedish”. Direct enrollment means that the municipalities, without the guardians’ application, must offer children a place at a preschool before the autumn of the calendar year when the child turns 3 years old.

According to government investigator Lotta Edholm, the plan will reach thousands of chidren, at least half with an immigrant background.

Edholm stressed that there may be several reasons why newly arrived children do not participate in preschool activities, including the lack of information about the preschool’s mission and “traditional gender roles”, where the mother stays at home with children.

One problem associated with the preschool plan is the lack of competent staff. According to the latest statistics, 263 preschools across the country lack qualified teachers. There is also a lack of staff with childcare skills. To remedy this, a salary boost of up to SEK 10,000 ($1,116) a month has been suggested.

The new regulations are intended to enter into force in the autumn of 2023.

This week, a report was published that every second six-year-old at preschools in the Järva area of Stockholm, which has a high proportion of immigrants, speaks poor Swedish and thus risks falling through the cracks of the educational system, national broadcaster SVT reported. This observation is valid even for children born in Sweden, the report underscored.

Earlier this year, the governing Social Democrats proposed obligatory preschool starting from the tender age of two. The suggestion was touted as promoting equality, liberating women, and equipping the children with better opportunities. However, the proposal met a lot of flak online, as people complained it would further burden the childcare system and enhance indoctrination. A petition was started online and garnered thousands of signatures.

Even Education Minister Anna Ekström was hesitant about the proposal.

“The road via coercion, we have to think about extra carefully. We have a preschool that has been based on voluntary participation for many years and we have a very high enrollment rate”, Ekström told SVT.”

  3. Pakistan police say officers foil police station attack (abcnews, Nov 24, 2020)

“Pakistan’s counter-terrorism police on Tuesday said they foiled a possible militant attack by killing a suspected would-be suicide bomber when he tried to sneak into a police station near the eastern city of Lahore.

According to a statement released by police, the suspected militant was killed in an exchange of fire early Tuesday when he shot at guards after being asked to halt at the premises of the police station in the village of Burki.

The man was wearing an explosive vest and he had two grenades in his pockets, the statement said. Police released pictures of an explosive vest, two grenades and a pistol, saying the suspect was carrying them.

Police provided no further details and said a search operation was underway in the area…”

Germany angers Turkey with attempt to police Libya arms embargo

Turkey protested to Germany and the EU on Monday after German forces belonging to an EU military mission boarded and tried to search a Turkish cargo ship that they suspected of taking weapons to Libya illegally.
Soldiers from the frigate Hamburg, part of an EU mission enforcing a U.N. arms embargo, boarded the Roseline A overnight but withdrew after Turkey raised objections with the EU mission, which had ordered the search, the German Defence Ministry said.
Turkey released footage showing armed men in military uniform marshalling sailors with their hands on their heads on the bridge of what it said was the Roseline A, at sea southwest of the Greek Peloponnese peninsula.
The incident comes at a time of friction between Turkey and the European Union. The EU’s foreign policy chief has said ties are reaching a “watershed moment” over Turkish oil prospecting in waters claimed by Greece and Cyprus, and that sanctions could be imposed next month.
Ankara said the vessel was carrying humanitarian aid and that the Hamburg had violated international law by not waiting for permission from Turkish authorities to board. It summoned the EU, German and Italian ambassadors to hear a protest.
But Germany said that, after four hours had passed with no reply to a request to board, it was standard practice to consider this as implicit permission. “All procedures were followed correctly,” a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.
The German Defence Ministry said the soldiers had not found anything suspicious by the time they were ordered off the ship.
Turkey is backing the internationally recognised government in Libya in its fight against Russian- and Egyptian-backed rebels in the east.
Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy said the Roseline’s captain had shared information with the Hamburg about his ship’s freight and its course.
“Despite this, at 17:45, armed forces from the Irini Operation boarded the ship and carried out a ‘monitoring’ that lasted long hours,” he said.
“We protest this act, which was carried out by force and without authorisation (and) retain the right to seek compensation.”
The 16,000-tonne container ship left the Turkish port of Gemlik near Bursa last week, and was last seen heading southwest towards Libya, according to Refinitiv Eikon data.

  5. Concern After European ‘Anti-Hate’ Group Boss Discussed ‘Necessity’ of Killing White People (breitbart, Nov 24, 2020)

“Mamadou Ba, head of the Portuguese “anti-hate” group SOS Racismo, spoke of the need to “kill the white man” at a recent online conference on “hate speech”.

Ba, a Portuguese citizen originally from Senegal, attended the conference on Saturday which was on the topic of “Racism and the Advancement of Hate Speech in the World”.

During the conference, which was attended by Portuguese speakers from Portugal and Brazil, Ba stated “it is necessary to kill the white man, murderer, colonial, and racist” to “prevent the social death of the black political subject”.

According to a report from Portuguese daily newspaper Correio da Manhã, the statement was a quote from Algerian far-left anti-colonialist political philosopher Frantz Fanon, who openly advocated for violence during the French rule of Algeria in his seminal work The Wretched of the Earth.

The newspaper states that it is not clear whether Ba was quoting the far-left philosopher, but said it was presumed he did so in agreement.

“Refutation is part of the proposition, but what matters most to combat hate speech is to propose a new narrative,” Ba said during the online meeting.

Earlier this year, the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), which is partnered with Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros’s Open Society Foundations, called for support of SOS Rascimo, which it described as one of the “founding members” of the ENAR.

According to the ENAR, Ba and other activists had been sent threats online, and Ba himself had received a letter with a bullet casing inside it.

The incident is not the first controversial moment for a so-called “anti-hate” group in Europe, many of which have direct ties to both Open Society Foundations and George Soros, such as Hope Not Hate in the UK which was identified in a Swedish military report on far-left extremism in 2018.

In Germany, the anti-hate Amadeau Antonio Stiftung, headed by former Stasi informant Anetta Kahane, sparked controversy after releasing a guide for schools to spot “Nazi parents”.”

This land redistribution system would be led by an Under Secretary of Agriculture for Equitable Land Access.

  8. An English-language newspaper controlled by the Chinese Communist Party’s propaganda department paid U.S. media companies nearly $2 million for printing and advertising expenses over the past six months, even amid heightened scrutiny over Beijing’s disinformation efforts in the West.

China Daily paid The Wall Street Journal more than $85,000 and the Los Angeles Times $340,000 for advertising campaigns between May and October 2020, according to a disclosure that the propaganda mill filed this week with the Justice Department under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

China Daily also paid Foreign Policy magazine $100,000, The Financial Times, a U.K.-based newspaper, $223,710, and $132,046 to the Canadian outlet Globe & Mail for advertising campaigns, according to the filing.

The Beijing-based outlet paid several newspaper companies a total of $1,154,666 for printing costs, including $110,000 to the Los Angeles Times, $92,000 to The Houston Chronicle and $76,000 to The Boston Globe.

  9. Democratic Member Seeks To Disbar Two Dozen Lawyers Challenging Election Results

We have been discussing the campaign of harassment and threats against Republican lawyers to get them to drop election challenges. New Jersey Democratic Rep. Bill Pascrell expanded that campaign this week with a malicious and frivolous demand for New York and other states to disbar roughly two dozen lawyers for representing Trump, the Republican party, or the Trump campaign in the litigation. While Democratic members and the media discuss attacks on democracy and the rule of law, they appear to have little problem with campaigns to threaten and harass both lawyers and legislators for raising questions about the election.

Thousands of protesters demonstrating in support of refugees met for the second straight night at the iconic Place de la Republique in Paris on Tuesday.

There were clashes during similar demonstrations on Monday, with Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin criticising the police’s actions on Twitter, calling footage ‘shocking.’

Several arrests were made during Monday’s demonstration as scuffles broke out when police arrived to remove some tents set up at the Place de la Republique.

The tents had been installed on the square by undocumented migrants after the evacuation of the Saint-Denis camp by the French authorities last week.

On November 17, a police operation dislodged 2,500 refugees from the camp located in the north of Paris. Around 800 of them remain without a lodging solution, according to the pro-migrant activist group Utopia 56.

  12. California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein will step down as the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“After serving as the lead Democrat on the Judiciary Committee for four years, I will not seek the chairmanship or ranking member position in the next Congress,” she said. “I look forward to continuing to serve as a senior Democrat on the Judiciary, Intelligence, Appropriations and Rules committees as we work with the Biden administration on priorities like gun safety, immigration reform and addressing inequities in criminal justice. I will continue to do my utmost to bring about positive change in the coming years.”

A number of Democratic senators reportedly criticized Feinstein, saying she was not the right person to serve as the top Democrat for the Supreme Court nomination hearings of now-Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer also said he had a “long and serious” talk with Feinstein after the hearings.

Among those GOP voices were Sens. Shelley Moore Capito (W.Va.) and Rob Portman (Ohio), two advisers to the Senate Republican leadership. Criticism also came from prominent conservatives like talk show host Rush Limbaugh, who said Trump’s legal team needed to back up its claims of widespread voter fraud with hard evidence.

  14. Argentina’s Army must comply with 1% quota for trans individuals

Argentina’s Army has been included on a list of official bodies that must comply with new legislation guaranteeing the incorporation of transvestites, transsexuals and transgender people into the workplace, according to press reports.

Argentina’s Army is one of several official bodies that must comply with new legislation guaranteeing the incorporation of transvestites, transsexuals and transgender people into the workplace, according to press reports.

Sources from the Defence Ministry, quoted in various media outlets, said that Army commanders and chiefs have been asked to prepare a report on “the existing situation” regarding compliance with the new norm, which requires that one percent of state posts be guaranteed for trans individuals, provided there are suitable candidates.

On September 4, the government published a decree saying the new one-percent quota would apply to state agencies as part of an effort to “begin to repair the violations that have historically been committed against transvestites, transsexuals and transgender people.”

“Every transvestite, transsexual or transgender person has the right to decent and productive employment in equal and satisfactory working conditions and protected against unemployment without discrimination for motives of gender identity or its expression,” read the text of the decree, which outlined that government officials must be trained in recognising discriminatory behaviour.

“It is established that, in the national public sector, personnel positions must be occupied by a proportion of not less than one percent of all of them by transvestites, transsexuals and transgender people who meet the conditions of suitability for the position,” according to the text.

The deadline for the Army to comply with the decree is November 30. It was not reported whether Air Force or the Navy have been requested to present a similar review.

Apart from suffering discrimination and stigmatisation, members of the trans community has an average life expectancy of 36 years according to studies.

Additional research by the Asociación de Travestis, Transexuales y Transgéneros de Argentina (ATTTA) also reveals that 90 percent of their community is outside the formal job market while almost 95 percent “find themselves in situations of prostitution on the extreme fringes of society.” Some 60 percent were unable to finish their schooling.

Argentina is something of a pioneer for human rights, legislating in favour of sexual diversity with its gay marriage law of 2010 and a gender identity law a year later.

Sheikh Al-Sagheer, who was speaking from Doha, said that France is a colonialist state that is harboring “extreme Catholicism” and that is waging a war on Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.

  18. Britain Needs ‘First Amendment’ Style Free Speech Law Says Think Tank (breitbart, Nov 24, 2020)

“Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party should pass a Free Speech Act modelled on the United States First Amendment to protect against the increasingly woke limitations on expression in the UK, a leading think tank said.

The Adam Smith Institute (ASI), a neoliberal — and formerly libertarian — British think tank said that the current speech laws in Britain — which are largely based off of Article 10 of the European Convention — are “woefully inadequate” as they have created a class of “speech crimes”.

The report, authored by technology lawyer and Legal Fellow at the Adam Smith Institute Preston J. Byrne, said: “The United Kingdom has placed public discourse in the hands of the easily offended, who have the power to threaten fellow citizens with fines and imprisonment for expressing unpopular opinions or having uncomfortable conversations.”

“Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having. The British people no longer have freedom of speech. The time is ripe for Parliament to step in to restore this most essential and ancient of our liberties,” Preston wrote in The Telegraph.

The report called for the Conservative Party — which enjoys an 80 seat majority in the House of Commons — to pass a Free Speech Act modelled on the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.

The think tank also said that the law should take into consideration the jurisprudence surrounding speech laws in America, in order to protect all speech, aside from categories that are not protected anywhere in the world, such as incitement of violence, criminal threatening, harassment, malicious defamation, perverting the course of justice, or perjury.

The ASI went on to call for the government to remove all references to “abusive” or “insulting” words and behaviour in the Public Order Act of 1986.

“There is mounting evidence that longstanding legislative provisions including the Public Order Act 1986, Communications Act 2003, Terrorism Act 2000 and 2006, and the Malicious Communications Act 1988 are increasingly being applied in an overly broad fashion which was not contemplated by their drafters,” Preston wrote.

“The imprecise drafting of existing law means that as social attitudes shift to narrow the confines of “acceptable” debate, broader categories of speech will be criminalised as “offensive,” “distressing” or “hateful”,” he explained.

Preston pointed to the high profile cases of prosecution of YouTuber Count Dankula, the police investigation of youth political commentator Darrem Grimes, and the public order conviction of Bethan Tichborne, as examples of the “rapid slide” in freedom of expression protections in the UK.

“Shockingly, over 400 people were arrested in London alone over the last five years for communicating in an ‘offensive nature,’ sending an ‘offensive message’ and/or sending ‘false information,’” he added.

The report also referenced the recent push from the Law Commission to criminalise the publication of “Islamophobic cartoons” such as the caricatures of the Islamic prophet in the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Finally, the Adam Smith Institute pointed to the impending Scottish Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Bill, which would criminalise speech that is “likely” to “stir up hatred” against supposedly marginalised groups, without consideration of the intent.

The United Kingdom — which unlike the United States does not have a written constitution — has also embarked on a campaign to record tens of thousands of so-called ‘non-crime hate incidents’ in police criminal databases. That means that those found to have committed such “offences” will turn up on background checks, despite not having committed an actual crime.

The effort to combat “hate” in the UK has also seen police forces call upon the British public to snitch on their fellow citizens if they have made “offensive or insulting comments, online, in person or in writing”.

Mr Preston warned that “the sun is setting on the Enlightenment in the United Kingdom. Before it’s too late, we must take steps to protect our most fundamental of rights: the freedom to express ourselves.””

Biden appoints rationalizer of Palestinian suicide bombers to his White House staff
    By Monica Showalter
Just what the White House needs: A Palestinian-American radical to carry water for CAIR, rationalize suicide bombing, and promote every radical Muslim and Palestinian cause.

Joe Biden’s named just such a person, Reema Dodin, to his White House staff. Her job is to liase with Congress, and she’s got a highly establishmentarian resume — Council on Foreign Relations, Truman National Security, Aspen Socrates, and the like. Which is weird stuff for someone who’s supposed to kibbitz with the likes of Mazie Hirono, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Eric Swalwell, Sheila Jackson Lee, and other low-I.Q. members of the legislative body. She’s quite effective though, having written a book about Congress’s ins and outs and how to manipulate them. She’ll have Rep. llhan Omar eating out of her hand.

Because according to the Jerusalem Post, which is one of the few media outlets to notice, she’s all in for rationalizing suicide bombings:

Reema Dodin, a Palestinian-American, will serve alongside Shuwanza Goff as a deputy director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs, president-elect Joe Biden announced on Monday. Dodin will be the first Palestinian-American to serve as a White House staffer, according to Palestinian media.

The new White House staffer was born to Jordanian-Palestinian immigrants in the US. Dodin’s family is originally from Dura, near Hebron, according to Palestinian media.
According to the Jerusalem Post, here’s a whiff of that:

During the Second Intifada in 2002, Dodin spoke about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict with residents of Lodi, California, saying that “suicide bombers were the last resort of a desperate people,” according to the Lodi News-Sentinel.

In 2001, Dodin took part in a demonstration at UC Berkeley calling for the university to divest from Israel, according to the Berkeley Daily Planet, a local news publication. The demonstrators compared Israel to apartheid South Africa.

And far from this being a ‘mistakes-of-my-callow-youth’ foolish statement, rationalizing suicide bombing terrorists has guided her career wherever it went.

KeyWiki, an encyclopedia of leftist radicals and their networks, has her record as this:

Senator Dick Durbin’s “Muslim Rights” hearing held on March 29 2011, by the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Human Rights was heavily influenced by a Durbin staffer.

The key staffer, Reema Dodin, is in regular contact with the Council on American Islamic Relations. She is a Palestinian rights activist who organized anti-Israel rallies at the University of California at Berkeley as a student. Dodin was also a member of the Muslim Student Association.

Dodin was cited in the book “Muslim Mafia” as one of the moles who had cultivated contacts inside the offices of key Democrat leaders. In fact, CAIR has her listed as a reliable source in their rolodex. Her boss, Sen. Durbin has been a long-time supporter of CAIR – and has helped raise funds for this terrorist-linked group.

It was Dodin who recommended the top witness for the March 29 hearing – fellow San Francisco-area activist Farhana Khera. He is founder of Muslim Advocates, an organization that has sued the Department of Justice to force it to disclose the FBI’s undercover operations to disrupt terrorist activities inside radical mosques. Muslim Advocates also advises Muslim witnesses or suspects to not talk to the FBI.[1]

A deeper dive into that Muslim Mafia stuff was done by World Net Daily in 2011:

Dodin, 30, went on to justify violent jihad.
“Islam does teach that you must defend yourself,” she said. “You cannot lie down and allow yourself, your home, your property, your family, and your people to be consistently oppressed.”

At the same time, she condemned U.S. strikes against the Taliban and al-Qaida in Afghanistan, complaining that the military was “just going to hit innocent civilians,” according to the explosive book “Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That’s Conspiring to Islamize America.”

Terror expert Steve Emerson suggested Dodin, who he says sends out emails reflecting the Egypt-based “Muslim Brotherhood’s views in the U.S.,” is acting as an agent of influence for the Brotherhood’s operations inside America and should be fired from her congressional post.

She’ll undoubtedly be dispatched to cut deals with Congress’s most radical Muslim-centric members on the far left — Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, the rest of the squad, and their supporters.

So much for the Biden administration being ‘moderate.’ This person is as radical as they come. If this is ‘moderate’ which does Biden consider ‘extremist’?

    • 28-Jährige greift in Manor Frauen an – Fedpol vermutet Terrormotiv

  21. Joy Reid: Should those who defend Trump’s voter fraud claims be allowed back into polite society?
By Ben Bowles November 24, 2020

So this is what normalcy looks like. After five years of non-stop conspiracy theorizing and scheming to get Donald Trump out of the Oval Office, Democrats finally succeed, if by questionable means. But they’re not interested in merely moving on and mending fences with their neighbor across the aisle, as the president-elect pretends to advocate for. Instead they are discussing plans for dealing with their “captives,” whose candidate lost the election. They warn them, as Trump hater Robert de Niro did, “to be afraid — be very afraid,” They speak of opening up “re-education camps” — places where the 75 million Americans who voted for Trump can be sent for “deprogramming.”

  24. bbc – ‘Hello Greta!’: Justin Trudeau ‘fields call from pranksters’

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has joined a growing list of public figures targeted by pranksters posing as climate activist Greta Thunberg.

An audio recording of Mr Trudeau speaking to pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov has been released by the pair.

The prime minister apparently fielded questions from the fake Ms Thunberg, on Nato, world peace and Donald Trump.

His office did not respond to a request for comment.

A spokesperson for the prime minister told iPolitics that when Mr Trudeau realised he was not speaking to the real Ms Thunberg, he ended the call.

[…]The pranksters then told Mr Trudeau that he and other world leaders “are adults, but you act like children”.

“Leave Nato, drop your weapons, pick flowers, smile at nature,” the pranksters said.

Taking the increasingly strange comments in stride, Mr Trudeau applauded the fake Ms Thunberg for her “perspective” and “passionate words”.

Asked about US President Donald Trump – who the pranksters described with an expletive – Mr Trudeau replied that his responsibility is to “work with world leaders that other people choose”.

“I can certainly understand that people can feel very, very strongly about him,” Mr Trudeau said.

  26. Biden Taps Globalist Blinken for Sec of State

And picks John Kerry to serve as special climate envoy.
Tue Nov 24, 2020 Joseph Klein

Joe Biden has gone back to the well of the foreign policy establishment to select his Secretary of State-designate. Biden chose his longtime confidante Antony Blinken, who served as the former Deputy Secretary of State and Deputy National Security Advisor in the Obama administration and as then-Vice President Biden’s National Security Advisor. Blinken is a globalist who worries more about how other countries perceive America than how other countries, especially China, have manipulated multilateral institutions and agreements to the detriment of the American people.

Indeed, Blinken wants to re-engage with the Chinese regime to deal with such global threats as climate change and pandemics. Blinken seems oblivious to the fact that China has made these problems worse in pursuit of its goal to overtake the United States as the world’s number one superpower. China has continued to increase its greenhouse gas emissions to support its economic growth while expecting the U.S to cut its emissions. And China hid the truth about the coronavirus outbreak, which originated in China, during the outbreak’s early days when the virus could have been prevented from spreading worldwide.

Blinken has said that climate change will be “a number one priority” for a Biden administration. To drive this point home, Biden chose former Secretary of State John Kerry to serve as his special presidential envoy for climate. In that role Kerry will sit on the National Security Council, where he will have plenty of opportunity to spout off to a receptive audience that climate change is our preeminent national security threat.

    “Burn It Down”

Activists in Seattle want to abolish police, prisons, and courts.

    Autumn 2020

    The Social Order

    Public safety

American cities are entering a period of chaos. Protests and riots have dominated headlines, but beneath the surface, activists are launching an unprecedented campaign to overthrow the traditional justice system and replace it with a new model based on a radical conception of social justice.

In Seattle, where this campaign may be most advanced, activists have crafted a narrative about police brutality, mass incarceration, and punitive justice that leads to a natural sequence of solutions: “abolish the police,” “divest from prisons,” and “defund the courts.” Over the past three decades, the city’s radical-progressives have seized control of municipal government—with the notable exception of the criminal-justice system, which they see as the final obstacle to total control. If they can dismantle it, activists believe, they can bring about their transformation of society.

The city’s political establishment has joined the campaign to “deconstruct justice.” Since the outbreak of the George Floyd–related protests starting in late May, elected officials in Seattle and King County have announced their intentions to defund the Seattle Police Department, permanently close the county’s largest jail, and gut the municipal court system. They believe that, when the oppression of the justice system is lifted, a new society can be shaped through criminal diversion, psychotherapy, and harm reduction.

  28. In Seattle, 34 more officers ditch the force as city slashes police budget for a second time

‘I’m witnessing a professional police agency revered by many fall victim to radical activism’

An additional 34 police officers have exited the Seattle Police Department since October as the city council voted to slash the police budget for a second time.

POLL: Who is the most corrupt?

According to Jason Rantz of KTTH-TV, the latest exodus brings the total number of separations since the start of this year to a historic high of 144, with “scores of other [officers] still applying elsewhere.” Rantz said rumors are swirling internally that separations could hit 200 by the year’s end.

The news comes as the Seattle City Council approved the city’s 2021 budget on Monday, in a move that shrank police department funding by 18%, KING-TV reported. The budget cuts are expected to affect overtime pay and training while leaving dozens of vacant jobs unfilled and moving 911 dispatchers and parking enforcement out of the department’s jurisdiction.

  29. Biden advisor: Elderly should be first to die, last to live

Conservatives believe in the sanctity of every human life from the moment of conception until natural death. Joe Biden does not, and that’s bad news for Grandma. In fact, it’s even bad news for Joe Biden, who at 78 is already three years past Ezekiel Emanuel’s drop-dead date.

Because of the value we place on human life, it’s been my position from day one in this coronavirus panic-demic that we make the elderly our highest priority. Our focus, I suggest, should be on the elderly, since they are the most vulnerable among us. Each assisted living facility should be stocked with enough HCQ and azithromycin to provide a course of treatment for every resident at the first sign of symptoms.

For everyone else, the nationwide approach I suggest is that we let everybody live their normal lives as they see fit without any restrictions. If someone gets sick, he should stay home and immediately start a regimen of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), which is amazingly effective if taken as soon as symptoms appear.

  30. What a Biden Administration Means for Border Security

    by Chris Farrell
    November 24, 2020 at 5:00 am

A Biden administration means two dramatic and dangerous reversals on Trump policies that will endanger the American public: 1. Termination of President Trump’s signature 2016 campaign issue — The Wall; and 2. Loosening of immigration restrictions.

“There will not be another foot of wall constructed on my administration, No. 1,” Biden told National Public Radio earlier this year. “I’m going to make sure that we have border protection, but it’s going to be based on making sure that we use high-tech capacity to deal with it.”

Biden is not really promising any border protection at all. It sounds good, but it is a hollow falsehood. Most of the American public does not know about or has forgotten the $30 billion dollar disaster known as “SBInet.” We have been down this “high-tech virtual wall” road before. The only winners were defense contractors. The virtual wall does nothing to deter or prevent unlawful entry across the border. It merely provides surveillance and recording of the illegal activity. Thousands of hours of video recordings of such crossings are available on the internet right now. Technology contractors are encouraged that a Biden administration would like to continue watching and recording millions of people entering the country illegally.

  31. Biden Urged to Pull Accreditation of Christian Schools Without ‘Science-Based Curricula Standards’
    By Mark Tapscott
    November 23, 2020 Updated: November 24, 2020

Former Vice President Joe Biden is being urged by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) if he becomes president to sign an executive order a key Southern Baptist academic leader claims would be “an atomic bomb” on Christian schools.

The HRC, a gay advocacy group, wants Biden to mandate that religious schools “that discriminate or that do not meet science-based curricula standards” lose their accreditation.

“This is an undisguised attempt to shut down any semblance of a Christian college or university that would possess the audacity to operate from a Christian worldview,” Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) President Albert Mohler Jr. wrote in a Nov. 18 column.

  32. YouTube Suspends OANN for a Week After It Posted Fake Covid-19 Cure

YouTube barred One America News Network from posting new videos and livestreaming for one week, after the right-leaning media organization uploaded a fake cure for the coronavirus.

YouTube also demonetized the organization’s channel, meaning it can’t make money from YouTube ads.

Tuesday’s move marks YouTube’s largest crackdown against OANN.

YouTube on Tuesday barred One America News Network (OANN) from posting new videos and livestreaming for one week, after the right-leaning media organization uploaded a fake cure for the coronavirus.

“After careful review, we removed a video from OANN and issued a strike on the channel for violating our COVID-19 misinformation policy, which prohibits content claiming there’s a guaranteed cure,” a YouTube spokesperson told CNBC. “Additionally, due to repeated violations of our Covid-19 misinformation policy and other channel monetization policies, we’ve suspended the channel from the YouTube Partner Program and as a result, its monetization on YouTube.

It was unclear what specifically OANN’s video said about a Covid-19 cure that made YouTube decide to suspend the channel.

The organization will have to reapply to YouTube’s Partner Program (YPP) if it wants the ability to make money off of its existing content again. YPP is YouTube’s program that connects large YouTube channels with advertisers. YouTube said broadly that companies will only be readmitted after they’ve fixed the issues that led to suspension.

Tuesday’s move marks YouTube’s largest crackdown against OANN. The social media giant has been criticized for allowing OANN to spread misinformation, such as false claims that President Donald Trump won the Presidential election.

  33. FBI Buried Hunter Biden Laptop

News reports last month claimed that in late 2019 the FBI had opened an investigation of matters related to information found on a laptop purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden. Would the bureau continue its probe under a Biden administration? Doubtful. In fact, it’s unlikely there was ever any investigation at all.

In July 2019, after Hunter Biden failed to reclaim his laptop from a computer repair shop in Delaware, the shop owner and his father grew concerned about information they found on the device and reached out to the FBI’s Albuquerque field office. They were turned away. In mid-October the bureau contacted the shop owner and two months later, an Assistant U.S. Attorney from Delaware issued a grand jury subpoena to retrieve it.

Last month, word circulated through Washington that FBI Deputy Director David Bowdich told Trump administration officials about its Hunter Biden investigation. Anonymous Department of Justice officials confirmed its existence to reporters. As further evidence of a serious probe, conservative media pointed to the fact that former Biden family business associate Tony Bobulinski was interviewed in late October by six FBI agents.
