“The Iraqi authorities earlier detained several individuals involved in regular missile attacks targeting Baghdad International Airport and the so-called green zone.
On Sunday, two Katyusha rockets fell on Baghdad’s Jadiriya, near the heavily fortified green zone, without causing any casualties, the Iraqi military said in a statement.
“The criminal terrorist groups have yet again targeted peaceful civilians in their areas of residence, and after targeting a peaceful family near the Baghdad International Airport on September 27 that led to the death of six innocent women and children, these groups launched two rockets in the early hours of the morning on Monday,” the Iraqi Security Media Cell wrote on Twitter.
According to the Iraqi military, one of the missiles landed near the Babylon Hotel, used by Iraqi travellers and sometimes for government meetings.
Earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi officially declared the intentions of a number of countries, primarily the US, to close their diplomatic missions in the Iraqi capital if rocket attacks on the so-called green zone — a location of government buildings and embassies — continued. According to Al-Kadhimi, western diplomats said that such a position was not aimed at Baghdad, but were due to security concerns.”

Government records suggest that around 110 terror attacks have been carried out in the valley since January.
At least two members of India’s paramilitary force, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), were killed and three others left injured after terrorists attacked a patrol in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Monday.
According to a senior CRPF official, unidentified terrorists fired upon a road opening party of the 110 Battalion of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police near Tangan bypass at around 12:50 pm local time.
“The injured personnel were rushed to the hospital, where two succumbed to their injuries. While three others are said to be critical,” a CRPF official requesting anonymity told Sputnik.
Soon after the attack, traffic movement on the Jammu and Kashmir Highway in the area was halted and a search operation was launched by the security forces.
Recently, Indian security forces claimed that Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan’s spy agency, planned to flood Jammu and Kashmir with weapons to cause unrest in the valley.

“The organisation Stop Islamisation of Norway, of which the deceased was an active member, seeks to counter the proliferation of Islam, which it sees as a totalitarian ideology that violates the Norwegian Constitution and contradicts democratic and humanitarian values.
Dan-Eivind Lid, 48, one of the centrepieces of the anti-Islam organisation Stop Islamisation of Noway (SIAN), has been found dead. The police suspect foul play, the Norwegian broadcaster NRK reported.
Lid was found dead in his apartment in Suldalen in Kristiansand, with what has been reported as “visible damage to the body”.
Both the security service PST and the National Criminal Police Kripos have joined in investigating the incident. Dan-Eivind Lid was last seen alive on Friday.
“One of our hypotheses is that the person has been subjected to a serious criminal act and died as a result of it”, a police spokesperson said at a press conference.
The police have several leads, but rejected to dwell on them. So far, no one has been charged or arrested in the case.
“The police are still in the initial phase of the investigation. This means that the police are working broadly and based on several hypotheses”, a police spokesman said.
SIAN leader Lars Thorsen described Lid as “an active member of many years”, with whom he had a close relationship. Thorsen emphasised that Lid was “friendly and polite” and stressed that based on his knowledge of the deceased, he sees no visible motives other than political ones.
“There is nothing about his nature that can explain why he should end up in a situation where someone would like to take his life”, Thorsen told the newspaper Nettavisen.
Former SIAN leader Arne Tumyr described Lid as a “key figure” who was “always ready to make an effort”.
Stop Islamisation of Norway (SIAN) dates back to the early 2000s. Its stated goal is to counter the proliferation of Islam, which it views as a totalitarian political ideology that violates the Norwegian Constitution as well as contradicts democratic and humanitarian values.
SIAN is known for their public manifestations in celebration of free speech that at times include Quran-burnings and other symbolic acts. Most recently, a SIAN activist publicly torn up the Quran, spat on its pages and called the Prophet Muhammad “a paedophile and warmonger”, inciting Muslim riots.
SIAN has had altercations with their enemies before and were pelted with eggs and tomatoes by Muslims and anti-racists during previous demonstrations. As recently as August, SIAN’s leader Lars Thorsen was beaten to a bloody pulp by a Muslim mob in connection with a demonstration in Bergen.
Norway’s Muslim community has grown exponentially, reaching close to 6 percent of the country’s population in a matter of several decades, and accounting for well over 10 percent or higher in some municipalities in Greater Oslo.”

“A policewoman has been stabbed while trying to stop an attempted armed robbery in Westminster, London.
The WPC continued to chase the suspect after she had been stabbed in the stomach. The incident took place at about 3.45pm this afternoon at a grocery store in Westminster. The shopkeeper had managed to push two men out of the store after they attempted to rob it.
Two Met police officers witnessed the attempted robbery and confronted the suspects, who were both armed with knives, in Chapter Street, Pimlico.
The female officer was then stabbed, but continued to chase the two men along Vauxhall Bridge Road.
The suspects were arrested shortly afterwards with the help of firearms officers.
The WPC was taken to hospital.
Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Chief Inspector Simon Brooker, Central West Basic Command Unit, said: “This shows precisely the kind of danger officers face every single day as they work to keep the public safe.
“For this officer to be stabbed on duty is unacceptable but, fortunately, she does not appear to be seriously injured.

Trial opens for failed Islamic State attack on French church (abcnews, Oct 5, 2020)

“A 29-year-old Algerian man went on trial Monday in Paris accused of killing a woman and trying to blow up a church near Paris, a failed 2015 attack that investigators say was orchestrated by Islamic State extremists in Syria.
Instead of bombing a Sunday Mass in the Paris suburb of Villejuif, Sidi Ahmed Ghlam shot himself in the leg and was soon arrested.
The incident came amid a series of Islamist extremist attacks in 2015-2016 that rocked France. Another Paris court is currently holding a two-month trial into the January 2015 attacks that killed 17 people at the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo and a kosher supermarket.
While all the gunmen in those attacks were killed by police, Ghlam survived his attempted bombing three months later, and began a monthlong trial starting Monday on charges of murder and attempted terrorist murder.
Ghlam, who faces life in prison if convicted, denies wrongdoing.
Nine other defendants are being tried alongside him. Seven are believed to have provided logistical assistance such as weapons and protective vests.
The other two are extremists accused of guiding his attempted attack, who are believed to be in Syria and possibly dead. The third sponsor, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was killed by police after allegedly coordinating the worst attacks on France since World War II, coordinated assaults on Nov. 13, 2015, on the Bataclan concert hall in Paris, France’s national stadium and multiple cafes.
Ghlam had been on the radar of authorities in Algeria and France for his proximity to Islamic State militants. Investigators say he traveled to Turkey in late 2014 and early 2015 where he met Abaaoud and the other operatives.
On April 19, 2015, fitness instructor Aurelie Chatelain was shot to death in her car, which had been set on fire, near a church in Villejuif.
Soon afterward, Ghlam called for help, claiming to have been the victim of gunfire near his home, in the 13th arrondissement or district of Paris, not far from Villejuif. Doctors notified police.
Police believe Ghlam shot Chatelain and was in fact planning to carry out an attack against the Villejuif church. According to investigators, Ghlam had to give up attacking the church after accidentally shooting himself in the leg while trying to put his weapon back in his belt.
Ghlam told investigators that he intentionally shot himself in the thigh, having second thoughts about carrying out the planned massacre.
He says Chatelain was accidentally killed by an accomplice named “Hamza.” None of the other suspects has mentioned this supposed accomplice.
Defense lawyer Jean-Hubert Portejoie told The Associated Press that Ghlam “acknowledges the preparatory phase and contacts with the Islamic State group” and maintains that he was one of two attackers. Ghlam “was supposed to carry out carnage in a church, but he couldn’t do it, and preferred to shoot himself in the leg,” Portejoie said.
Many weapons were found in his car and at home, and his computers showed frequent links to Syria. Ghlam acknowledged to investigators having been in contact and guided by three IS operatives: Abaaoud, Abdelnasser Benyoucef and Samir Nouad.
Benyoucef is also the alleged sponsor of Amédy Coulibaly, the gunman in the January 2015 kosher supermarket attack.
Benyoucef and Nouad, a member of Algerian Islamist militant group GIA in the 1990s, are believed to have died in suicide attacks in Syria, and are being tried in absentia in the Villejuif case.”

The Real Reason Why Leftists Can’t and Won’t Express Good Wishes For Trump’s Recovery

When the news broke that President Trump had contracted the coronavirus, many of his supporters immediately began to pray for his recovery, while many Democrats were thrilled. Some, including former Hillary Clinton staffer Zara Rahim, even expressed the hope that he would die. The sharply divergent reactions revealed yet again the growing divide in American society, as they demonstrate that the left and the right today are operating from two vastly different and irreconcilable worldviews.
Leftists celebrating Trump’s illness were many, and they made no effort to hide their sentiments. Chris Rock yukked it up on Saturday Night Live, saying: “President Trump is in the hospital from COVID and I just wanna say my heart goes out to COVID.” Film critic Simon Abrams tweeted: “For once, I’m rooting for the virus.” Daniel Golson, staff editor at Car and Driver, chimed in with “I don’t feel bad about hoping he dies because I’ve been hoping that since 2015.”
Many conservatives have been appalled at these reactions, and have pointed to them to illustrate how deranged the left has become in its hatred for the president. They’ve noted that the right reacted to the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg with condolences and expressions of regret, without regard for the fact that Ginsburg was the embodiment of a leftist activist judge with no interest in respecting constitutional restraints. Many have asked why leftists can’t react with similar charity when someone among the dissidents from their agenda falls ill, even their primary bête noire, President Trump.
The answer is in this as in so many other areas, the left and the right are working from premises that are more or less polar opposites. Jesus says “Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). This has long been interpreted as meaning that one should treat everyone, even one’s political opponents, with respect, and have compassion for them when they suffer. This remained a cultural ideal long after many Americans began to discard their Christian faith and is still taken for granted among many people, albeit in the United States increasingly only among conservatives of all faiths.
That former Hillary staffer, Zara Rahim, in contrast, is a Muslim. The Qur’an doesn’t say that believers should love their enemies. Instead, it says “Muhammad is the apostle of Allah. Those who follow him are ruthless to unbelievers, merciful to one another” (48:29). What flows from this is that one should not have respect for one’s political foes, but rather, remain intent on destroying them.
Of course, most of the Leftists who have been cheering Trump’s coronavirus and passionately hoping (if not praying) for his death are not Muslim and never will be. But the leftist/Islamic alliance is manifest in numerous ways these days, including the fact that Zara Rahim is a top-level Democratic Party operative, and that Joe Biden has repeatedly engaged in the most shameless Islamopandering, and the power and influence of first-term Muslim Representatives Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Gaza) among congressional leadership, and the collaboration of Black Lives Matter with Palestinian jihadis, and much more.
This is an alliance of convenience based upon a shared goal—the destruction of the United States of America as a free republic—but it is more as well. The secular Left agrees with the idea that one should be ruthless to one’s enemies and merciful only to one’s friends. Leftists share with Islamic supremacists the idea that one’s enemies should not be loved, or prayed for, but only treated ruthlessly and destroyed by any means possible.
This scorched-earth world view has not been a constant in American politics. As Rating America’s Presidents shows, it wasn’t all that long ago that Democrats as well as Republicans shared the world view that was derived from the Judeo-Christian tradition. Politicians of both parties took for granted that one should treat one’s political opposition with decency and respect, and could expect the same in return.
But no more. The left is increasingly not just post-Christian, but anti-Christian, and not just American liberal, but Marxist and anti-American. Leftists have a completely different understanding of how the world works from the one that still prevails among most conservatives. The sooner the right wakes up to this fact and begins to prepare for more ruthlessness and hatred from the Left, the safer every patriotic American (which is not by any stretch of the imagination all of them) will be.

The rallies in favor of the unlimited and immediate reception of all immigrants from Greece are increasingly infiltrated by left-wing (migrantifa) and anti-Semitic extremists. This became very obvious last weekend at a demonstration in Frankfurt.

The reason for this clear positioning: During the Refugee welcome march on the occasion of Moria/Lesbos, not only nationalist flags could be seen, but also anti-Semitic slogans could be heard: “Free Palestine-From the River to the Sea” implies that the whole of Israel should be made ” free of Jews”.
Other participants even report of “Israel Jews-free” shouts at the “Moria march” in Frankfurt.

Think twice before gathering for Thanksgiving, Dr. Tam says
Plan ahead to make sure this year’s Thanksgiving holiday is safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada’s top public health officer urged on Sunday as case counts continued to soar in several parts of the country.
Dr. Theresa Tam said indoor holiday gatherings of family or friends should be kept small, especially in provinces such as Quebec Ontario where infection rates are highest.
“We’ve got some serious planning to do,” Tam said in a statement released nearly a week before the national holiday on Oct. 12.
“Not the carefree planning we had last Thanksgiving but rather some ingenious Canadian COVID-19 ‘holiday-hacks’ that will ensure there are no viruses invited or passed around at our gatherings.”
Tam said people celebrating outdoors should follow physical distancing guidelines and encouraged people to avoid sharing food and other objects during their meals.
She also suggested that Canadians opt for virtual Thanksgiving dinners instead of in-person gatherings.
Her advice comes as new COVID-19 case numbers continued their upward trajectory in several parts of the country, most notably in central Canada, where tighter restrictions have been put in place in recent days to try to prevent the spread of the virus.
Quebec reported more than 1,000 new diagnoses for the third straight day on Sunday, while Ontario has recorded more than 500 cases every day for the past week.
The Quebec government announced plans to move three towns in the Gaspesie region to its highest COVID-19 alert level on Monday, and urged residents to minimize their contacts with people outside their homes.
In Ontario, stricter limits on restaurants, bars and fitness facilities took effect in three main hot spots – Toronto, Peel Region, and Ottawa – this weekend in a bid to halt the surging case numbers in those regions.
The province also has announced other measures aimed at addressing a testing backlog, all of which take effect this week.
Manitoba said Sunday that multiple people tested positive for COVID-19 in Little Grand Rapids First Nation, after it said they attended events at a recreation centre late last month.
The province said the chief and council of the eastern Manitoba community have ordered residents to stay home and only go out for medical appointments and testing. If essential supplies are needed, only one person should venture out to collect them.
Manitoba also reported one new death attributed to the virus, a man in his 50s in the Winnipeg region, who became the 23rd person to die from COVID-19 in the province.
Health officials in Prince Edward Island identified two more cases in that province, attributing both to unspecified travel outside the region. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Heather Morrison said the patients, both men, have been self-isolating since arriving on the Island.
Meanwhile, Canadians struggling with the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic will be able to start applying on Monday for two new benefits available from the federal government after legislation creating them was rushed through the House of Commons last week.
The first is a caregiver benefit targeting Canadians with young children forced out of school or day-care settings due to the virus. It provides $500 per week for up to 26 weeks to those with children under 12 who can’t work more than half-time due to pandemic-related caregiving responsibilities.
The benefit, which is only payable to one worker in a household, is also available to those who can’t work because their children or a family member is sick, has to quarantine or is at high risk of COVID-19.
The second benefit is a two-week paid sick leave worth up to $1,000 for workers who can’t work more than half the week because they have contracted COVID-19 or have an underlying condition that puts them more at risk of the illness.
Starting on Oct. 12, Canadians will also be able to start applying for a third program which replaces the $500-per-week Canada Emergency Response Benefit that has formed the main support for Canadians unable to work due to COVID-19.

BREITBART – UK Government Importing Asylum Seekers Directly from Greece Under ‘Family Reunification’
The British government has revealed it is flying in asylum seekers directly from Greece, while record numbers of illegal immigrants continue to arrive on UK shores in boats.
On Friday, the government announced that 28 more people had been imported to Britain, as “the latest in a series of flights which has brought asylum seekers to the UK from Greece to reunite with family”.
The migrants hail from Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, and Bangladesh, and “will now be allowed to have their asylum claim assessed alongside their family members”, a government news briefing said.
“Throughout the pandemic, the UK has remained open and fully committed to family reunification,” the so-called Conservative government proclaimed, boasting that “through resettlement schemes, the UK resettles more refugees than any other country in Europe and are in the top five countries worldwide”.
At the general election last year, the Tories were voted back into power with the promise to reduce immigration, while polls have consistently shown that a majority of the British public would like to see a large reduction in the number of migrants.
The announcement came as it was revealed that the total number of illegal immigrants officially recorded as having made it to British shores by boat this year had passed 7,000 — more than triple the figure recorded in 2019.
Some 9,500 asylum seekers who have arrived in Britain are reportedly being accommodated at taxpayers’ expense in 91 hotels around the country. Between 20 and 50 hotels — including four-star establishments — are reported to be benefiting from a £4 billion ten-year contract with the government to house migrants.
Others are living at disused military facilities such as Napier Barracks, where illegal immigrants are provided with taxpayer-funded mobile phones, as well as having access to “TVs, WiFi and sports equipment”, according to BBC reporter Simon Jones.
Home Secretary Priti Patel commented: “I am delighted that we can bring families, who have suffered the trauma of being separated, back together. These individuals, most of whom are children, are now able to be in the UK alongside their loved ones.
“Such arrivals show that our commitment to those in need of protection has not wavered, even in the midst of a global pandemic.
“Legal and viable routes to the UK demonstrate that it is not necessary for people to try and reach the UK via dangerous journeys, such as across the Channel.”
News that Britain is importing migrants directly from Greece came days after the United Nations (UN) told MPs that illegal immigration was “not a threat” to Britain. The organisation demanded the country do more to open “safe and legal pathways” for migration from the third world, such as through the expansion of family reunification.
Far from presenting a danger to the UK, illegal immigrants from the world’s poorest countries could, in fact, be a boon for British taxpayers, according to the international body, which alleged that the only “risks” of the situation were those posed to migrants’ lives at sea, and critical media reporting of the phenomenon.

I have become increasingly convinced that in terms of motive, those origins must go back farther.
They don’t go back hopelessly far. There are shapers of conditions that go back a long way, of course. Many perceive that the “long march through the institutions,” by what is often called “cultural Marxism,” began 100 years ago, and attribute the softening up of America to it. The Loudoun County Public Schools are planning to impose illegal racial preferences in student discipline, and have already made changes to school admission policies that are being challenged in court. They also plan to restrict teachers’ out-of-school speech, by punishing them for speech that disagrees with school policies, and by punishing teachers who fail to report such speech by their peers. These speech restrictions are vague, viewpoint-discriminatory, and violate the First Amendment. Some of the speech they restrict is also protected against discipline by civil-rights laws. Yet, they may be adopted on October 12.

Germany: Anti-Semitic attack at Hamburg synagogue

A man attacked a Jewish citizen outside the Hohe Weide synagogue in Hamburg on Sunday, according to police.
The man swung a foldable shovel, injuring a 26-year-old before the synagogue’s security personnel were able to restrain him. He was later taken into custody by Hamburg police. Germany’s DPA news agency reported the 29-year-old suspect was carrying a piece of paper with a swastika in his pocket.
The victim, reported to be a Jewish student, suffered serious injuries to the head and was admitted to a local hospital for treatment, according to the daily Süddeutsche Zeitung. His injuries are serious though not life-threatening.
Police said the attacker, a German with Kazakh roots, was accused of causing grievous bodily harm and appeared to be acting alone. A police spokesperson said the motive for the attack was still under investigation and that the suspect was “extremely confused” leaving investigators unable immediately to question him.

Five Members of One Family, Including Four Children, Killed in ‘Hammer and Knife’ Attack in Paris Suburb

Five members of one family, including four children, have been killed and five others injured after a relative committed a hammer and knife attack in a Parisian suburb. French media reports the incident occurred following a family dispute.
The attack happened on Saturday morning in the commune of Noisy-le-Sec in the Seine-Saint-Denis suburb, according to French television broadcaster BFM.
One of the survivors, a youth, reportedly walked into a bar covered in blood and asking for help. He told the bar manager his uncle had “gone mad” and attacked the rest of his family “with a knife and a hammer”.
When police arrived at the house at around 11 am, they were forced to bust through the door with a battering ram, where they found two dead victims and multiple others injured, all believed to be of the same family. Three others died an hour and a half later despite the efforts of emergency services. The fatalities were reportedly one woman and four children.
Police also found five survivors who were injured, some unconscious. All survivors were taken to hospital, with three adults believed to be in serious condition. The other two surviving victims were adolescents who were not as seriously injured, according to franceinfo.
They also found the alleged perpetrator, the uncle, unconscious with the suspected murder weapons beside him. He was taken to a hospital in Clichy where he is receiving treatment.
“The scene was horrible,” one officer told BFM. “Several of us are in shock.”
Multiple media reports that the family, including the suspected attacker, the uncle, were identified as being of Sri Lankan or Pakistani origin. Police told the broadcaster that the initial investigation points to the attack being the result of a family dispute.

Florida Man Released From Jail After 2 Years When Judge Rules Shooting Justified Under Stand Your Ground Law
“A reasonable and prudent person in the same position as Mr. Dames would have believed that the use of deadly force was necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to Mr. Dames,” [St. Lucie County Circuit Judge William] Roby stated. “The state has failed to prove … that Mr. Dames had no objectively reasonable basis to use deadly force against Mr. McMiller at any time during their fateful encounter.”
And with that, as reported by TCPalm.com, Judge Roby dismissed all charges against Jason Dames who had been sitting in a jail cell for two years after a 2018 shooting.
Dames was attacked by Jessie McMiller, a man he didn’t know, in a restaurant. Dames is blind in one eye and has a shunt in his head which makes him particularly vulnerable to injury. Dames was punched repeatedly and had been knocked to the ground before he shot McMiller who later died at a hospital.

After 2020, the Anti-Gunners’ Rely-on-the-Police Argument is Null and Void
Proponents of the right to private gun possession have long noted that the police are not always available to be of assistance, certainly not in sufficient time to prevent criminal action. A commonly-heard refrain is “when seconds count, the police are minutes away.” During recent protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death, calls have arisen to “defund the police,” which can mean anything from small cuts in funding to something close to abolishing the police altogether. Already, as of this writing in early September 2020, some cities have substantially cut police funding.
Mainstream liberals, who had previously been strongly on the “rely exclusively on police and not on a personal firearm for protection” bandwagon, seem unwilling or unable to defend the importance, competence, and efficacy of the police in the face of allegations of institutional racism against American law enforcement. In short, the argument that Americans should trust the police to protect them, already greeted with skepticism if not derision in gun-rights circles, has been undermined further by the anti-police movement.

“Pope Francis has proposed “a different way of understanding relations and exchanges between countries” that minimizes the idea of citizenship in a particular nation and emphasizes the common humanity of all people.
In a new encyclical letter titled Fratelli Tutti (Brothers All), the pope asserts that the common destination of the earth’s goods “requires that this principle also be applied to nations, their territories and their resources.”
“Seen from the standpoint not only of the legitimacy of private property and the rights of its citizens, but also of the first principle of the common destination of goods,” the pontiff writes, “we can then say that each country also belongs to the foreigner, inasmuch as a territory’s goods must not be denied to a needy person coming from elsewhere.”
“If every human being possesses an inalienable dignity, if all people are my brothers and sisters, and if the world truly belongs to everyone,” he writes, “then it matters little whether my neighbour was born in my country or elsewhere.”
“My own country also shares responsibility for his or her development, although it can fulfil that responsibility in a variety of ways,” he adds. “It can offer a generous welcome to those in urgent need, or work to improve living conditions in their native lands by refusing to exploit those countries or to drain them of natural resources, backing corrupt systems that hinder the dignified development of their peoples.”
Justice among nations, the pontiff suggests, requires assistance to satisfy the “right to progress” of peoples outside one’s own country, and perhaps even the pardoning of international debt.
“Indeed, justice requires recognizing and respecting not only the rights of individuals, but also social rights and the rights of peoples,” Francis writes. “This means finding a way to ensure the fundamental right of peoples to subsistence and progress, a right which is at times severely restricted by the pressure created by foreign debt.”
“In many instances, debt repayment not only fails to promote development but gravely limits and conditions it,” he states. “While respecting the principle that all legitimately acquired debt must be repaid, the way in which many poor countries fulfil this obligation should not end up compromising their very existence and growth.”
“Certainly, all this calls for an alternative way of thinking,” the pope acknowledges. “Without an attempt to enter into that way of thinking, what I am saying here will sound wildly unrealistic.”
“On the other hand, if we accept the great principle that there are rights born of our inalienable human dignity, we can rise to the challenge of envisaging a new humanity,” he proposes. “We can aspire to a world that provides land, housing and work for all.””

Woman Beaten With Scooter After Rejecting Man’s Advances In Latest Assault on French Streets (breitbart, Oct 5, 2020)

“A 30-year-old woman was beaten by a man on the streets of the French city of Montpellier after refusing his sexual advances in the latest act of random violence against women in France.
The incident took place Thursday at around midnight in the Figuerolles district of the city and saw the woman approached by a man on a scooter who attempted to engage her in conversation. When the woman ignored the man, who was intoxicated at the time, he began insulting and physically grabbing her.
According to a report from newspaper Midi Libre, the man struck the victim with his scooter and the woman used her shoes to defend herself against the attack. A second individual then got involved, helping the attacker by holding the woman as she was attacked again.
As a result of the brutal attack, the victim was forced to take five days off work due to the injuries she had suffered. The main attacker was later taken into custody by police after the victim gave a description of the man to officers.
The attack is just the latest against a woman on the streets of France in recent weeks, some of which have involved men expressing anger at women wearing revealing clothing.
In Strasbourg, a 22-year-old woman was punched in the face by three young men and given a black eye after one of the men called her a “whore in a skirt.”
In other cities, such as Rennes, women have expressed growing concerns over insecurity with local city councillor Anaïs Jehanno remarking, “In 2020, young girls no longer dare to walk around Rennes in miniskirts. Night workers are afraid to go home.”
A similar phenomenon has been reported in Sweden in recent years as well, particularly in so-called vulnerable areas, commonly referred to as no-go areas.
In 2018, a report claimed that as many as half of the women living in no-go areas felt insecure in their own neighborhoods in the evening.”

Crowds of Shia pilgrims Muslims from Baghdad started the traditional long trek to the holy city of Karbala ahead of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, as seen in drone footage captured on Monday.
Arbaeen marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Al-Hussein, grandson of Prophet Muhammad. Many pilgrims traditionally walk from Baghdad to Karbala for a 90-kilometre (55 mile) trek.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, scores of people could be seen wearing masks or observing social distancing rules.
Millions of Shiites from all over the world usually take part in this pilgrimage but the COVID-19 related travel restrictions mean few foreigners can enter the country.
“In fact, you can notice on terms of the number of visitors there is no difference, we’ve been serving here for five-six years but the only difference this year is that foreign visitors cannot enter. As for the Iraqis, you see the same numbers, the crowds, and the same services provided,” said pilgrim Wali.
