Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.
So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

Wealthy Leftist Wants to Take Away Meat From the Poor for Their Own Good
May 22, 2020
Daniel Greenfield
Jonathan Safran Foer is a literary darling who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and no apparent talent for anything other than hollow posturing as literature. Since his literary career wasn’t annoying enough on its own, he decided to expand into becoming truly obnoxious by becoming the one thing that everyone on earth hates, a celebrity vegan.
And here for your hatejoymet, is Foer in the New York Times, screeching, “if you care about the working poor, about racial justice, and about climate change, you have to stop eating animals.”
What will black people and the working poor eat instead? Celebrity vegans? Nah, they’re sour and tasteless.
I’ll spare you the rambling screed except that Foer nonsensically and hysterically claims that most black people want to be vegetarians, that the “working poor” are oppressed by the existence of meat, and that meat is destroying the planet.
Perhaps if Foer ever made it out of his five-story Brooklyn townhouse (what’s heating and cooling that thing doing to the environment), he would note that vegan and vegetarian places are located in places where noxious hipsters like him hang out while poor and working class neighborhoods are full of places that serve meat and chicken. You know, real food.

After Charleston absentee ballots found in Maryland, SC considers cutting ties with printer
By Andy Shain ashain@postandcourier.comSouth Carolina election officials could have counties cut ties to a Minnesota printer after about 20 Charleston County absentee ballots were found in Maryland this week.
The ready-to-mail ballots have since made their way to Charleston-area voters, state and county election officials said, but it is just the latest problem with SeaChange Print Innovations, which prints and mails absentee ballots for 13 S.C. counties.
Some Greenville County voters received the wrong absentee ballots this year when the Democratic presidential primary and a special election for sheriff were held 10 days apart, S.C. Election Commission spokesman Chris Whitmire said.

Coronavirus: Yemen’s healthcare system ‘in effect collapsed’ (BBC, May 22, 2020)
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-52769919
“War-torn Yemen’s healthcare system has “in effect collapsed” and coronavirus is spreading across the country, the United Nations has warned.
Jens Laerke, spokesman for the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), described the situation as “extremely alarming”.
He said people were being turned away from treatment centres partly because staff lacked protective equipment.
The Yemeni authorities have confirmed scores of infections, and 30 deaths.
But the UN says the real figures are almost certainly much higher.
The country’s health system has been damaged by years of civil war and ventilators are in short supply.
Millions of Yemenis homeless; many are malnourished, and most of the population depends on aid…”
Most of these people are heavily into Khat consumption.

Two illegal migrants detained near Czech town after hiding under truck
https://rmx.news/article/article/two-illegal-migrants-detained-near-czech-town-after-hiding-under-truck
“Two migrants who illegally entered into the Czech Republic hidden under the chassis of a truck have been detained by police in South Moravia border in the southeast of the country.
They were spotted by a police patrol in a parking lot near the motorway as they were approaching a food stand.
“On Wednesday evening, a patrol of two foreign police officers were on their way to the Lanžhot border crossing. In the parking lot between the trucks, they noticed two suspicious men heading to a food stand. They then determine that the two men did not have any documents,” said police spokesman Pavel Šváb.
According to sources, the migrants, who were headed to France, hid under the truck’s chassis in Romania.
“After three days of strenuous journey, which yielded an obvious deterioration to their appearance, they could not stand the conditions and left their hiding place. By comparing fingerprints on the database, we were able to find out that they had applied for international protection in Romania,” the spokesman said.
The migrants were then detained by the police. After the standard procedure, they were taken to a detention facility for foreigners. They will most likely be returned to Romania, but the police did not specify the nationality of the men.”

Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali said 28,352 patients were receiving medial care and 302 were in critical condition.

Restaurants, factories, laboratories, hypermarkets, gas stations, pharmacies, food markets and stores will be exempt from the lockdown. They will operate during curfew hours.”
Egypt arrests 11 accused of ‘fabricating’ content for Al Jazeera
https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/egypt-arrests-11-accused-fabricating-content-al-jazeera
“Egyptian security forces arrested almost a dozen people on accusations of fabricating content for the Al Jazeera news network, the interior ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said on Friday that the 11 individuals arrested were suspected of collaborating with members of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group to create content for Al Jazeera.
The content in question included a documentary on Egypt’s troubled North Sinai region. The ministry alleged that information in the documentary was fabricated in exchange for large sums of money.
In a statement, the ministry accused those arrested of trying to “undermine national security and stability by producing fabricated media reports… on the country’s internal situation to spread rumours”.
The investigations had been handed over to the Supreme State Security Prosecution, the ministry added…”
9/11 convict: Osama Bin Laden a ‘useful idiot’ of the CIA
https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200522-9-11-convict-osama-bin-laden-a-useful-idiot-of-the-cia/
“Zacarias Moussaoui, the only man ever convicted in the US for his role in 11 September, 2001, terrorist attacks has now announced that he renounces terrorism, Al-Qaeda and Daesh.
Currently serving a life sentence at a federal prison in Colorado, having escaped the death penalty in his 2006 trial, Moussaoui also denounced Al-Qaeda’s late leader Osama Bin Laden in a hand-written court motion, which he filed with a federal court last month.
“I denounce, repudiate Osama Bin Laden as a useful idiot of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)/Saudi. I also proclaim unequivocally my opposition to any terrorist action, attack, propaganda against the US,” Moussaoui wrote.
He also hopes: “To warn young Muslims against the deception and the manipulation of these fake jihadis.”
The Associated Press reported that Katherine Donahue, who wrote a book about Moussaoui after attending his 2006 trial, claimed she was unaware of any other instance in which he had renounced terrorism or Bin Laden. “He’s been [in prison] 14 years. It’s a long time to think about what you’ve done,” Donahue stated. “I don’t see him lying. There were so many ways he could have helped himself before by lying.”
Moussaoui’s renunciation is part of his petition in seeking relaxation of the conditions under which he currently serves his sentence. In 2015, he also claimed that Al-Qaeda received support from some of the most senior members of the Saudi royal family…”
Official says Turkey is not an EU border guard
https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200522-official-says-turkey-is-not-an-eu-border-guard/
“Aksoy made the remarks in response to statements by a European Commission vice president for Promoting Our European Way of Life, Margaritis Schinas, on Turkey and immigration.
The Turkish official explained that Schinas’s remarks on immigration resembled the Greek political discourse more than European Union officials.
He stressed that the European Commission whose task is to protect the EU’s founding agreements has not yet carried out any serious investigation into “rights violations on the European Union borders”.
Aksoy called on Schinas to investigate the case of murdered Pakistani asylum seeker, Muhammad Gulzar by Greek officials and the continued forced return of migrants in the Aegean Sea and Evros River.
“Turkey is not and will not be a border guard for the European Union or a camp for asylum seekers. Our country, which suffers from the phenomenon of illegal migration, only wants the fair sharing of burdens and responsibilities,” he said.”
Greece complains to Turkey over border riverbed dispute
http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/2/9/369842/World/International/Greece-complains-to-Turkey-over-border-riverbed-di.aspx
“Greece has complained to Turkey in a border dispute linked to a riverbed change, a foreign ministry source said Friday.
The ministry official confirmed an earlier report by state agency ANA, saying Athens had made a protest to Ankara.
Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Wednesday said there was a “dispute” over the “exact boundary” of the Evros, the river known as Maritsa in Turkey that divides the two countries.
“The riverbed has changed,” Dendias said.
Greek reports on Friday said Turkish troops had occupied a strip of land that is normally submerged at this time of year, and is on Greece’s side of the border.
The main opposition Syriza party on Friday demanded an immediate briefing “over Turkey’s arbitrary and aggressive actions”.
Dendias was criticised in parliament for saying on Wednesday that “all these things can be resolved via a joint committee and the relevant measurements.”
“We’re talking about a few tens of metres,” he said.
There was tension in the area in March after Turkey encouraged tens of thousands of asylum-seekers to travel to the border with Greece in the hope of crossing into the European Union.
For days, there were skirmishes on the border as migrants trying to break through threw stones at Greek riot police who fired tear gas at them.
Turkish police also bombarded Greek forces with tear gas at regular intervals, and Athens accused Turkish police of handing out wire cutters to migrants to help them break through the fence.
Greek border forces have also claimed that Turkish troops have recently fired shots into the air.
Ankara accused Athens of beating migrants and firing live rounds at them, alleging that some died of bullet injuries.
The Greek government categorically denied using undue force.”
Czech resolution on 1919 events ‘null and void,’ says Foreign Ministry
https://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/czech-resolution-on-1919-events-null-and-void-says-foreign-ministry-154972
“A resolution of the Senate of the Czech Republic adopted on May 20 concerning the events of 1915 indicates that the “twisted mentality built on the one-sided baseless discourses which damaged” the relations of the two countries in 2017 is still effective in the Czech Republic, said the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
The adoption of the resolution at a time when the whole world is struggling with the coronavirus pandemic with a few numbers of members in the Senate also demonstrates the “insidious mentality behind it,” the ministry said in a written statement on May 22.
It is not possible to attribute a meaning further than a historical controversy to the events of 1915, as ruled out by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in the articles 173 and 231 of its decision in 2015 and as reiterated in the second decision in 2017, said the statement.
“Attempts to define a historical issue in line with politics and the interest of certain circles cannot be accepted,” the ministry said.
“We hope those who are willing to approach history unilaterally, take into consideration the understanding of our President sharing the common sufferings in his letter to Armenian Patriarch of Turkey sent on 24 April 2020,” read the statement.
Ankara called on the parliament of the Czech Republic to respect the provisions of the Lausanne Peace Treaty, international court decisions and the historical and present sources of international law.
“This resolution, which we deem null and void, is nothing but futile attempts of those who are trying to rewrite history in the pursuit of their daily political interests,” said the statement.
Turkey’s position on the events of 1915 is that the deaths of Armenians in eastern Anatolia took place when some sided with invading Russians and revolted against Ottoman forces. A subsequent relocation of Armenians resulted in numerous casualties.
But Armenia and the Armenian diaspora call it a “genocide.”
Turkey objects to the presentation of the incidents as “genocide” but describes the events as a tragedy in which both sides suffered casualties.
Ankara has repeatedly proposed the creation of a joint commission of historians from Turkey and Armenia plus international experts to examine the issue.”

the gateway pundit – THIS IS ON WHITMER! Black Man Seen Beating Elderly Senior in the Face Was a ‘Patient’ Sent to Nursing Home with Coronavirus
[…]Judicial Watch boss Tom Fitton said the watchdog group contacted authorities after he was alerted to the disturbing videos.
Tom Fitton said according to his sources, the man was arrested.
On Friday FOX 2 Detroit in Michigan spoke with the father of the Jaydon Hayden after his arrest.
The father said his son is not vicious, but that he just has health issues.
And the father then said this, “He said his son called 911 and was taken to a mental health facility in Ann Arbor. Last Wednesday, he was diagnosed with COVID-19 and said he was supposed to be taken to another facility to be quarantined.
The father added, “It should’ve never happened because he should’ve never been put in that environment.”
Did you get that?
Authorities — following the orders of Governor Gretchen Whitmer — moved the young man to a nursing home to recover from COVID-19.
According to his father, Jaydon Hayden was at the nursing home because he had COVID-19.
This tells us that Governor Whitmer is STILL sending COVID-19 patients to NURSING HOMES.
So not only was Jayden BEATING nursing home patients but he was spreading the coronavirus in the same nursing home.
The Attorney for the Westwood Nursing Center says they were not aware of the beating until they saw the video?
The attorney added that Jayden was not a long-term resident.
Well, that’s good!
