Leaked Document: Beijing City Requires Hospitals to Open Funeral Home Offices on Premises
The Beijing city government has ordered all municipal-owned hospitals to set up funeral home offices, according to internal government documents obtained by The Epoch Times.
The timing has led some analysts to believe that it is related to the current outbreak of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, commonly known as novel coronavirus.
In China, funeral homes with crematoriums are all state-run.
The Beijing government issued a request in late April that all city-run hospitals set up offices within their facilities for funeral homes to make arrangements for the deceased.
An internal notice instructed: “Funeral home offices should operate 365 days per year, 24 hours per day. It should move the body from the hospital to the funeral home as soon as possible.”

BEIJING—China’s services firms wallowed in contraction in April as layoffs hit a record and export orders plunged, a private survey showed.
The Caixin/Markit services Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) increased to 44.4 in April from 43 in March, but remained in a deep slump and far below historic averages. The 50-mark separates growth from contraction on a monthly basis.

Breaking news: French athletes were contaminated by the CCP virus in Wuhan in October
During a March 25 interview on the French local TV channel Loire 7, about the postponement of the Tokyo Olympic Games, Elodie Clouvel, the Pentathlon world champion, gave a invaluable information about when the Chinese coronavirus really started, and for how long the Communists really hid it to the rest of the world.
Her testimony is as disturbing as it sounds. The retroactive analysis of tests kept at the Bondy hospital, allowed so far the identification of a carrier of the coronavirus as early as December 27th in France. The first case started almost certainly much earlier.

We aren’t importing so they can’t export, when they can’t export they don’t have any US Dollars coming in to use to buy food. The CCP is in trouble and they know it, looks like they may end up losing control of China.)

New York Muslims raise concerns about substandard Ramadan meals
https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/new-york-muslim-community-raises-concerns-substandard-meals-distributed-during-ramadan
“Earlier this month, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the city would be delivering 500,000 free meals to Muslims during the month of Ramadan.
“One of Ramadan’s most noble callings is to feed the hungry,” De Blasio said.
Still, when Rima Begum opened the iftar meal she received from the city, she recoiled in disgust. Oozing from a sealed silver bag was a mush of corn, chicken and potatoes.
“It reminded me of how when I was a kid you would learn about astronaut food,” Begum told Middle East Eye. “I wouldn’t eat this; I wouldn’t give this to my family,” she said.
De Blasio had said that 400,000 halal meals would be distributed at 32 Department of Education buildings and another 100,000 served through various community organisations during the holy month.
Linda Sarsour, a community activist and former executive director at the Arab American Association of New York, said that the meals distributed through AAANY came directly from the city and were of good quality.
It is the difference in food sourcing that has caused concerns among New York residents and community activists.
“We’d like transparency on how the city government procures food for both their Get Food NYC program and NYC Food Assistance,” Thahitun Mariam, a community organiser in Bronx, New York, told Middle East Eye.
Purchasing meals from a defence contractor
The food received by Begum and others from one of the city’s distribution centers, and not from a community organisation, originated from J&M Halal Foods, a company based in Illinois.
The company said that it was founded in 1991 to provide meals to the US military.
The meal shown in a social media post by Begum is identical to J&M’s Meals Ready to Eat (MRE) kits, which are foil pouches containing 227 grams of preserved food.
“As a vital defense contractor, J&M shipped more than thirty (30) million MREs throughout the world in support of military operations,” the company’s website says.
The New York City Department of Sanitation told Middle East Eye it was looking into the matter.
“I can tell you that we take these kinds of concerns very seriously,” Joshua Goodman said in an email
“We have strict requirements about nutrition and food quality, and if a vendor is supplying food that is not up to our standards, their contract will be terminated.”
J&M has yet to respond to Middle East Eye’s request for comment.
Lack of representation
It is a lack of representation, even at the local level, that causes problems such as this, Moumita Ahmed said.
Ahmed, who is running for district leader for New York’s Assembly District 24, said that some of the meals were “disrespectful” and a waste of taxpayer money.
Jamaica, Queens, the community where Ahmed is seeking office, has a large South Asian population – mostly of Bangladeshi origin. Still, the community has yet to elect a leader from this background.
She pointed out that the money spent on these meals could have gone to local restaurants that have been providing meals for Muslims during Ramadan for years.
“Our communities deserve better. Our communities deserve more than just goop in a plate,” Ahmed told Middle East Eye.
“We are the richest country and the richest state on the planet. We have the ability to provide quality meals to our Muslim families who are observing Ramadan,” she added.”
Libya’s Sarraj: EU mission favors warlord Haftar
https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200508-libyas-sarraj-eu-mission-favors-warlord-haftar/
“The head of Libya’s government said he believes that the European Union’s new military mission in the Mediterranean favors the rebel forces headed by warlord Khalifa Haftar, Anadolu reports.
In an interview with Italian daily Il Corriere della Sera published on Thursday, Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj said that the main aim of Operation Irini – approved last month by EU member states – is aimed at enforcing the UN arms embargo on Libya, stemming the foreign transfer of arms and military aid to the area.
Several member states argued that the EU’s renewed naval presence would encourage illegal migration across the Mediterranean, as its vessels could be used to rescue migrants.
“The area of the operation is the Mediterranean Sea. But our enemies receive arms and ammunition mainly by air and land,” Sarraj said.
“In short, our objection is this: our ports will be controlled, our troops penalized, while Haftar’s airports will be free to receive any help and his militias will be able to use any kind of military reinforcement.”
Sarraj, however, added that he supports Operation Irini for its role in preventing illegal oil exports. He also stressed the need to fight the criminal organizations involved in human trafficking in the Central Mediterranean by training and supporting the Libyan Coast Guard.
The Libyan government has been under attack by Haftar’s forces since April 2019, with more than 1,000 killed in the violence. It launched Operation Peace Storm on March 26 to counter attacks on the capital.
Following the ouster of late ruler Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya’s government was founded in 2015 under a UN-led political deal.
Sarraj ruled out the option of restarting negotiations with Haftar. “He’s responsible for a vile coup. He can’t sit at the negotiating table,” he said.
Sarraj also praised Turkey as the only country that responded to a cry for help from his UN-recognized government to face Haftar’s offensive.
“Turkey responded by sending experts and technicians to support our military operations, including training plans and programs to fight terrorism and illegal migration,” Sarraj said.”
Anti-India clashes continue in tense Kashmir for third day
https://english.alaraby.co.uk/english/news/2020/5/8/anti-india-clashes-continue-in-tense-kashmir-for-third-day
“Anti-India protests and clashes continued for a third day on Friday in the disputed Muslim-majority of Kashmir following the killing of a top rebel leader by government forces.
Rebel commander Riyaz Naikoo and his aide were killed in a gunfight with Indian troops on Wednesday in the southern Awantipora area, leading to massive clashes at several sites.
The clashes continued Friday as anti-India protesters threw stones at government forces, who fired shotgun pellets and tear gas to quell the spiralling protests.
At least one man was killed and 50 others were injured in the three days of clashes, residents and medics said. Most of the injured were treated locally.
However, at least a dozen people with bullet and pellet injuries were taken to a hospital in Srinagar, the region’s main city, for treatment, a doctor said on condition of anonymity because medics have been barred from briefing news media. She said most of the injured had been hit by pellets in one or both eyes.
Residents said government forces swooped into the rebel leader’s native village on Thursday, and accused them of vandalising a tent which villagers had set up for mourning his death, triggering large protests and clashes in the area…”
UN Chief Calls to Strengthen Immunity ‘Against the Virus of Hate’
https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2020/05/302050/un-chief-calls-to-strengthen-immunity-against-the-virus-of-hate/
“Among other hateful consequences, the pandemic has sparked anti-semitic conspiracy theories and Islamophobic attacks.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called today for global solidarity against hate, in light of offensive communications prompted by the spreading pandemic.
“We must act now to strengthen the immunity of our societies against the virus of hate,” Guterres said, initiating his speech.
“The pandemic continues to unleash a tsunami of hate and xenophobic, scapegoating and scaremongering,” Guterres continued.
The UN chief said that nationalist sentiment has been on the rise as COVID-19 continues to spread around the globe. “Migrants and refugees have been vilified as a source of the virus – and then denied access to medical treatment.”
The secretary-general highlighted attacks on journalists, health professionals, aid workers, and human rights defenders who “are being targeted simply for doing their jobs.”
The pandemic has also sparked anti-semitic conspiracy theories and prompted Islamophobic attacks linked to the virus, the UN chief explained.
Islamophobia and COVID-19
A recent report from the UK-based Anti-Muslim Hatred Working Group (AMHWG) warned that far-right claims that Muslims spread COVID-19, including doctored footage wrongly suggesting mosques are still open, could prompt Islamophobic attacks after the UK lifts its lockdown.
“We’ve found that COVID-19 has been used by the far-right to peddle Islamophobic hate,” wrote Imran Awran, a professor of crimonology at Birmingham City University and one of the report’s authors. We found “that stereotypes fuelled by conspiracy theories, memes and fake videos create the perfect climate for the demonisation of Muslims,” he continued.
India has already witnessed a rise in anti-Muslim sentiment during the pandemic. The hashtag #coronajihad went viral in the country when COVID-19 infections spread after an Islamic conference in Delhi, even though many different religions continued to gather after India began warning of the pandemic. Hindu nationalists have since taken to the streets, attacking Muslims in mobs.
In contrast to the general increase in fear-mongering and finger-pointing, Guterres recalled the 2019 UN Strategy and Plan of Action on Hate Speech. “As we combat this pandemic, we have a duty to protect people, end stigma and prevent violence,” he stressed.
Renewed calls for solidarity
Guterres called on all stakeholders to act in solidarity and stand against hate speech, including political leaders and civil society.
The UN chief also appealed to social media companies to flag and remove racist, misogynist, and harmful content in line with international human rights law. The plea follows Facebook’s May 6 announcement of its controversial content oversight board.
Guterres previously warned the Security Council about the COVID-19 pandemic’s far-reaching implications on global peace and security.
The spread of COVID-19 “poses a significant threat to the maintenance of international peace and security–potentially leading to an increase in social unrest and violence that would greatly undermine our ability to fight the disease,” said the official on April 9.
Guterres repeated his assertion that international solidarity is key for countries to defeat the “gravest test since the founding” of the UN in 1945.
At a press conference on April 27, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that national unity is the foundation for global solidarity and the solution to the global crisis.
“Solidarity, solidarity, solidarity—that’s what we will say every single day,” he emphasized.
Ghebreyesus explained that the virus will not be defeated if the world is not united and that the pandemic will “exploit the cracks” between nations and continue to wreak “havoc.””
Six FC soldiers, including major, martyred in IED blast near Pak-Iran border

“Six security forces personnel, including one officer, were martyred when a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) struck their reconnaissance vehicle near Pakistan-Iran border, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
The military’s media wing said that the incident took place in Kech district’s Buleda area in Balochistan, which is about 14 kilometres away from the Iran border.
Security forces were on routine patrolling to check possible routes used by terrorists in the mountainous and extremely treacherous terrain of Mekran, the statement added.
“As the FC South Balochistan troops were moving back to their base after assigned patrolling duty, reconnaissance vehicle of FC troops was targeted with remote-controlled IED,” the ISPR said.
One officer and five soldiers embraced martyrdom while another was injured during the incident…”
Hungarian parliament rejects Istanbul Convention over gender ideology and migration concerns
https://rmx.news/article/article/hungarian-parliament-rejects-the-ratification-of-the-istanbul-convention
“The Hungarian Parliament passed with overwhelming majority (115 to 35 votes) a political resolution rejecting the Istanbul Convention on the grounds that it promotes gender theory and migration.
The parliament noted that the elements it agrees with in the document, such as its emphasis on protecting women’s rights and fighting domestic violence, are already built into Hungarian law, which means there was no reason for Hungary to ratify 2011 document.
The Istanbul Convention, an initiative of the Council of Europe that was adopted by the council’s Committee of Ministers on April 7, 2011, in Istanbul, has long been deemed controversial for its many clauses in support of LGBT causes and pro-migration causes.
The motion was sponsored by Hungary’s junior coalition partner the Christian Democratic Party (KDNP), which said in the justification that “the document wants to force upon countries the definition of social genders and with it the introduction of the destructive gender theory and also wants to force countries to grant asylum based on gender.”
While Hungary was among the 45 countries that signed the Istanbul Convention after a three-year delay in 2014, it was never ratified by the Hungarian Parliament, hence is not part of the Hungarian legal system.
István Hollik, communications director of senior coalition partner Fidesz said “Hungary does not need the Istanbul Convention to effectively fight violence against women”.
While opposition parties accused Fidesz, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Speaker of the House László Kövér, also from Fidesz, of “waging war against women”, a Fidesz statement said the opposition should desist from misinterpreting Kövér’s words when the situation was the exact opposite of what they claim.
“Women deserve respect and appreciation, and the entire European culture is based on the equality of women,” the statement said, adding that opposition parties were the ones who did not vote the amendment of the country’s penal code which introduced harsher punishments for violence against women and children.
KDNP said Hungarians had a sovereign right to reject values that go against traditional, national ones.
“We have a right to defend our country, our culture, our laws, traditions, and national values, which should not be threatened by either the gender theory that goes against the beliefs of the majority of the population or by immigration without bounds, or preferential immigration based on gender,” KDNP caucus leader Lprinc Nacsa said.”
SKY PRAVDA – Greek forces killed migrant at border with Turkey, investigation suggests
Greek border forces were likely responsible for shooting and killing a migrant trying to pass through the country’s border fence with Turkey at the beginning of March, an investigation has suggested.
The victim’s son will be suing the Greek state for the death of his father after detailed video analysis indicates the fatal shot was fired from the Greek side of the border.
