The public prosecutor’s office in Tübingen and the criminal investigation department in Tübingen are investigating a 28-year-old man who is suspected of having committed several robberies and sexual crimes to the detriment of minors since December 2018.The suspect is already in custody. According to previous criminal investigations, the suspect had probably lured a 13-year-old girl into his apartment in Tübingen last December. There, he is said to have performed sexual acts on the dressed child. Approximately four weeks later, he is also said to have made alcohol and narcotics available to a 16-year-old girl in his apartment at the time of the crime and then raped her. In addition, the 28-year-old is suspected of having kicked a 14-year-old on the evening of 24.08.2019 in the area of the Blaue Bridge in Tübingen. At the defendant’s demand, the victim handed him his baseball cap. According to the current state of investigations, he is said to have snatched the Bluetooth box from the hands of the teenager’s twelve-year-old companion immediately afterwards. The two boys were only acquainted with the suspect. Both the sexual and robbery offences were not reported to the police by the victims until several weeks later. The subsequent investigations by the criminal investigation department led to an urgent suspicion of the 28-year-old. Putin Says Berlin Murder Victim Was Among Organizers Of Moscow Subway Blast

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said the ethnic Chechen Georgian national killed in Berlin this summer was behind a Moscow subway blast.
Speaking at a news conference in Paris on December 9 following peace talks with the leaders of Ukraine, France, and Germany, Putin described Zelimkhan Khangoshvili as “a hardened and murderous fighter” wanted in Russia.
Putin said Khangoshvili “killed 98 people in one of his acts” and that he was also “one of the organizers of a Moscow metro blast.” He gave no further details. Moscow’s subway has experienced several deadly explosions over the past 20 years.
Khangoshvili, 40, who had previously fought alongside separatists in Russia’s Chechnya region, was shot twice in the head in Kleiner Tiergarten park on August 23.
A Russian national suspected of carrying out the killing was arrested shortly afterward. German media have reported that the Federal Prosecutor’s Office suspects Russian state agencies of having commissioned the killing.
Putin denied any Russian state participation in the slaying and said Russia was ready to assist Germany investigate the killing.
“I don’t know what happened to him. [He lives in] a criminal underworld and anything could have happened,” Putin said in response to a question from a German reporter.
“We need to find the guilty ones and along with the Chancellor [Angela Merkel] do everything to help our German colleagues,” he said, while denying there was a “crisis” between the countries.
Germany last week expelled two Russian diplomats after prosecutors blamed Russian authorities for not “sufficiently” participating in the investigation of the murder.
When asked how the Kremlin would react, Putin said Russia would follow the “unwritten law” in diplomacy of tit-for-tat.

“Two former prime ministers of Algeria have been convicted and sentenced to prison for corruption-related charges in a landmark trial.
Cheers rose from a crowd of pro-democracy activists who gathered outside the courthouse in Algiers Tuesday to hear the verdict against Ahmed Ouyahia and Abdelmalek Sellal.
Ouyahia was sentenced to 15 years in prison and $16,000 in fines. Sellal was sentenced to 12 years in prison and $8,000 in fines. They were accused of abusing authority in a car manufacturing embezzlement scandal.
Both served under longtime President Abdelaziz Bouteflika. They denied all charges, including “misappropriation of public funds, abuse of power, and granting undue privileges”.
Unusually, the trial was televised, as authorities sought to show the public that they are taking protesters’ concerns about corruption seriously.
It was the most high-profile corruption conviction since the peaceful protest movement began in February.
The court in Algiers also handed 10-year prison terms to two former industry ministers, and sentences ranging from three to seven years to five prominent businessmen.
Many former senior officials have been in detention as the army seeks to quell mass protests that began in February demanding the prosecution of people involved in corruption and the removal of the ruling elite.
Protesters pushed out Bouteflika earlier this year in part because of anger at corruption.
Some protesters shouted “Gang of gangsters!” and many waved or wore Algerian flags. Police surrounded the courthouse because so many protesters were trying to get into the building see the trial in person.
Demonstrators say Thursday’s election will not be fair because some of Bouteflika’s allies are still in power.
The army has said the vote will be fair and an election is the only way to get out of the crisis.
Tuesday’s verdict is linked to corruption in the car assembly business and “hidden financing” of Bouteflika’s campaign for a fifth five-year term in an election that was scrapped earlier this year.
Among the businessmen jailed was Ali Haddad, a former chief of Algeria’s largest business association, who was imprisoned for seven years. Former transport minister Abdelghani Zaalane was the only defendant acquitted.
All those on trial were allies of Bouteflika and denied the charges. Sellal’s son, Fares, a shareholder in a car assembly plant, was handed a three-year jail sentence.
The court also issued a 20-year prison sentence in absentia to former industry minister Abdesslam Bouchouareb, who is abroad. An international arrest warrant has been issued by the same court.”

Neal Katyal, an acting solicitor general under Barack Obama, argued Thursday that if the Senate acquits President Donald Trump after the House of Representatives impeaches the president, the next Congress could simply convict Trump again on the same charges.
“If the Senate doesn’t vote to convict Trump, or tries to monkey [with] his trial, he could, of course, be retried in the new Senate should he win reelection,” the liberal attorney argued on Twitter. “Double jeopardy protections do not apply.”
The next congressional election coincides with the 2020 presidential election, so in Katyal’s hypothetical, the Senate would remove Trump despite a previous acquittal and the president returning to office with the mandate of reelection.

A gang of seven “youths” has been arrested in the German city of Augsburg after an off-duty fireman was attacked and beaten to death outside of the city’s Christmas Market.
The fatal attack took place on Friday night as 49-year-old firefighter Roland S. was near the Christmas Market with his wife and another couple and got into an argument with the chief suspect, 17-year-old Halid S., who comes from a Turkish-Lebanese-German background, and his six friends, Bild reports.
The argument soon turned into full-on violence and saw the group of youths beat the man so viciously that he died on the way to hospital after the mob had fled.

Two people were shot dead outside a nightclub in central Norrköping last week in what appears to have been a gang-related incident.
The shooting occurred outside of a nightclub near the city’s central station at around 1:20 am. First responders discovered two male victims lying outside of the nightclub with gunshot wounds. After being rushed to the hospital, the two men died from the injuries they had sustained, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.
Police say both victims were between the ages of 40 and 45 and were residents of Östergötland county and Örebro county.
A few hours after the shooting, one individual was taken into police custody for questioning but was released shortly after with investigators saying they were not a suspect.
The shooting is representative of the gang violence that continues to grip multicultural Sweden.

After much anticipation, Inspector General Horowitz’s Report on the FBI’s Four FISA applications was released on Monday halfway through the Impeachment Pseudo Debates, where Nadler threw out the Rules of Order and shouted down Republicans who cited the rules to him. The much anticipated reports sheds needed light on the process the FBI and Department of Justice took to spy on the Trump Campaign based on nothing more than a single report from an unnamed “Friendly Foreign Government” and undisclosed “reasonable suspicions” of FBI officials.
But one little-discussed point that could provide a Supreme Court ruling if legal action is taken by President Trump was the Obama FBI was given free rein by the Department of Justice to violate the Constitution. As per the report:
“Additionally, both the AG Guidelines and the DIOG permit the FBI to conduct an investigation,
even if it might impact First Amendment or other constitutionally protected activity, so long as there is some legitimate law enforcement purpose associated with the investigation.”
Even further, the report found that the investigation was, in fact, politically intertwined, a fact the report stated was concerning since, according to the report itself, the Justice Department and FBI provided no oversight when opening an investigation into a political party’s campaign:
“However, we were concerned to find that neither the AG Guidelines nor the DIOG contain a provision requiring Department consultation before opening an investigation such as the one here involving the alleged conduct of individuals associated with a major party presidential campaign.”

ustice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz identified 17 serious omissions, inaccuracies and failures involving the FBI’s conduct in the Russia collusion investigation and its pursuit of a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant targeting the Trump campaign.
The significant failings are laid bare in a report made public Monday that showed the FBI withheld from the FISA court misgivings about its star informant Christopher Steele, as well as evidence of innocence against targets like former Trump campaign advisers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos.
Here is the list of the 17 flagged failures in the FBI’s handling of FISA warrants in 2016 and 2017, as described in Horowitz’s own words.

Omitted information the FBI had obtained from another U.S. government agency detailing its prior relationship with Page, including that Page had been approved as an “operational contact” for the other agency from 2008 to 2013, and that Page had provided information to the other agency concerning his prior contacts with certain Russian intelligence officers, one of which overlapped with facts asserted in the FISA application;
2. Included a source characterization statement asserting that Steele’s prior reporting had been “corroborated and used in criminal proceedings,” which overstated the significance of Steele’s past reporting and was not approved by Steele’s handling agent, as required by the Woods Procedures;

The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Domestic Investigations and Operations Guide, the bible for agents, has long recognized that journalists, the clergy and lawyers deserve special protections because of the constitutional implications of investigating their work. Penitents who confess to a priest, sources who provide confidential information to a reporter, and clients who seek advice from counsel are assumed to be protected by a high bar of privacy, which must be weighed against the state’s interests in investigating matters or subpoenaing records. Judges and members of Congress also fall into a special FBI category because of the Constitution’s separation of powers.
The FBI and Justice Department have therefore created specific rules governing agents’ actions involving special-circumstances professionals, which include high-level approval and review. There are also special rules for subpoenaing journalists.
If the executive branch, and by extension the courts that enforce these privacy protections, observe the need for such sensitivity, it seems reasonable that Congress should have similar guardrails ensuring that the powers of the state are equally and fairly applied.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff apparently doesn’t see things that way.
His committee secretly authorized subpoenas to AT&T earlier this year for the phone records of President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and an associate. He then arbitrarily extracted information about certain private calls and made them public.
Many of the calls Mr. Schiff chose to publicize fell into the special-circumstances categories: a fellow member of Congress ( Rep. Devin Nunes, the Intelligence Committee’s ranking Republican), two lawyers (Mr. Giuliani and fellow Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow ) and a journalist (me).
More alarming, the released call records involve figures who have sometimes criticized or clashed with Mr. Schiff. I wrote a story raising questions about his contacts with Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson, a key figure in the Russia probe, that brought the California Democrat unwelcome scrutiny. Mr. Nunes has been one of Mr. Schiff’s main Republican antagonists, helping to prove that the exaggerated claims of Trump-Russia election collusion were unsubstantiated. Messrs. Sekulow and Giuliani represent Mr. Trump, who is Mr. Schiff’s impeachment target.
Mr. Schiff’s actions in obtaining and publicizing private phone records trampled the attorney-client privilege of Mr. Trump and his lawyers. It intruded on my First Amendment rights to interview and contact figures like Mr. Giuliani and the Ukrainian-American businessman Lev Parnas without fear of having the dates, times and length of private conversation disclosed to the public.

Americans weary of the impeachment drama the Democrats have fabricated got an extra helping of ennui yesterday. The marathon he-said-she-said session was the longest so far in either of the House committees that have conducted them, running from early morning into early evening. Like all the other installments to date, this one was sorely lacking in fact but rich in opinionating and speechifying.
Yesterday’s testimony had a unique twist. The key “witnesses” were the two attorneys — Daniel Goldman and Stephen Castor — who had served as interrogators respectively for the Democrats and Republicans during the Intel Committee hearings.
I get Jerrold Nadler’s motivation for having committee members question the questioners. Having the two men testify about what they heard was an effort to introduce “evidence” from the first round of hearings into the current one. But since neither attorney has any firsthand knowledge of the now-infamous July 25 phone call beyond the transcript, featuring them as surrogate witnesses was another exercise in futility.
Yesterday’s hearings were also marked a few tense moments when tempers flared. One came when Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) reminded Chairman Jerrold Nadler that House rules require the scheduling of a day of minority hearings “at a reasonable time.” He went on to define reasonable time in this particular case as “not after articles have been drawn, not after there’s been a vote on articles of impeachment.”

The rule of law, one law for everyone and everyone treated equally is one of the most important foundations stones of our Republic. The Dems in their quest for personal political power. Presidents Clinton and Obama openly broke the law and got away with it, this set the precedent that liberal Democrat Presidents are above the law. The voters were tired of the law breaking and elected Donald Trump to clean up at least part of the mess created by the professional politicians. The self anointed elite in DC both politicians and bureaucrats decided that this couldn’t be allowed, they decided to show the voters who really runs this nation.
This started the current farce of an impeachment as the Dems try to remove a duly elected President to prove to the world that only professionial politicians are allowed to run and be elected as President. When this attempt at impeachment fails and Trump is re-elected the Dems (if they still have3 control of the House) will once again find something they can twist and distort in their efforts to Frame President Trump and remove him from office.

“Greece has sent two letters to the United Nations explaining its objections to a maritime boundary deal between Turkey and Libya and asking for the matter to be taken up by the U.N. Security Council, the government spokesman said Tuesday.
The country’s foreign minister also convened a meeting in Athens to brief political party leaders on developments. The deal, endorsed by Turkey’s parliament last week, has fueled regional tension, particularly over drilling rights for gas and oil exploration.
The agreement would give Turkey and Libya access to an economic zone across the Mediterranean despite the objections of Greece, Egypt and Cyprus, which lie between the two geographically. All three countries have blasted the deal as being contrary to international law, and Greece expelled the Libyan ambassador last week over the issue.
Government spokesman Stelios Petsas said Greece sent one letter to the U.N. Secretary General and one to the head of the U.N. Security Council Monday night detailing Greece’s position. He said the letters noted the agreement “was done in bad faith and violates the law of the sea, as the sea zones of Turkey and Libya are not neighboring, nor is there a joint maritime border between the two countries.”
The letters also note the deal “does not take into account the Greek islands” and their right to a continental shelf and exclusive economic zone. The agreement has also not been ratified by Libya’s parliament, Petsas said, rendering it “void and unable to affect Greek sovereign rights.”
Neighbors Greece and Turkey, although NATO allies, have tense relations and are divided by a series of decades-old disputes, including territorial issues in the Aegean Sea, and have come to the brink of war three times since the 1970s, including once over drilling rights in the Aegean.
“Greece will do whatever is needed, and it knows what to do, in order to defend its sovereign rights,” Petsas said. He added that the letter to U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres asked for the deal not to be published by the organization’s division for ocean affairs and the law of the sea.
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias raised the issue on Monday at a meeting of European Union foreign ministers in Brussels, garnering clear statements of support from some of his European counterparts.
“I want to tell Greek society that the country is dealing with the very serious problems with seriousness and confidence,” Dendias said after briefing party leaders on the issue.
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said some of the bloc’s members were concerned, but that the EU would study the deal further before deciding whether to take action.
“It’s clear that it is problematic. It poses major concerns to certain member states, in particular Greece and Cyprus,” Borrell said, adding that “we are going to be studying this question very closely, being clear that any agreement must respect international law.””

Erdogan’s comment came weeks after Turkey signed security and military cooperation agreements, as well as a controversial maritime border agreement, with Libya’s Tripoli-based government. That government, led by Fayez Sarraj, controls parts of the country’s west.
“If Libya were to make a request, we would send a sufficient number of troops,” Erdogan said during a town hall meeting with university students. “After the signing of the security agreement, there is no hurdle.”
However, the deals with Turkey outraged members of the Libyan parliament, which is based in the east and aligned with the self-styled Libyan National Army, led by Gen. Khalifa Hifter.
During Tuesday’s meeting with students, the Turkish leader said Hifter had no “international identity.”
“Sarraj is the one who is recognized, and he is the one we considered as our interlocutor,” Erdogan said.
Libyan lawmakers have criticized the agreements as a “flagrant breach” of Libya’s security and sovereignty. They say the deals grant the Turkish government the right to use Libyan airspace and waters, as well as the right to build military bases on Libyan soil.

Speaking on the sidelines of a NATO summit in London last week, Trump said he had a great relationship with Turkey, although he said the U.S. was considering imposing sanctions on Ankara for buying a Russian-made missile defense system. Erdogan and Putin meet frequently and are cooperating in energy, defense and in Syria, despite differences of views.
Erdogan named the Prophet Mohammed and modern Turkey’s founder, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, among inspirational personalities from the past. German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi are among past European leaders that he admires, Erdogan said.”

Marking international Human Rights Day, activists and families of the missing called on Pakistani Prime Minster Imran Khan to release all detainees being held without due process.
Pakistan’s government has repeatedly denied the allegations, claiming most of those who are missing went to neighboring Afghanistan to join militant groups.
In an emotional speech in front of Parliament, Amina Masood Janjua, who heads the Defense of Human Rights Pakistan group, said Khan needs to fulfill his campaign promise from last year, when he vowed to end the practice enforced disappearances after taking office.
Some at the rally held photos of relatives they say are detained. Two young girls carried handmade signs saying “I want my daddy back” in Urdu. Their father, Mohammad Usama Mirza, went missing in 2016, and like many other detainees he hasn’t been charged or presented before any court.
Janjua herself is the wife of an alleged detainee, Masood Ahmad Janjua, a businessman who went missing in 2005 in the garrison city of Rawalpindi. Since then, she has been fighting a legal battle for his and other detainees’ release. Her husband’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Although Pakistani law prohibits detentions without court approval, security officials privately concede that intelligence agencies are holding an unspecified number of suspects. The officials say the detentions are because of ties to militant groups. The officials all spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to media.”

“The Taliban abducted as many as 45 elderly family members of a late Afghan government employee who were attending his funeral, officials said Tuesday.
The Taliban singled out the old men from a funeral procession carrying the deceased employee’s coffin to a graveyard, according to interior ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi. The young men in the group were not taken, he said.
The Taliban have consistently warned people not to attend the funerals of anyone working with the Kabul government, according to Payghambarpul Khuram, the head of intelligence in Jawzjan province, where the kidnappings took place.
Khuram disputed the number of people who were kidnapped, saying only six family members were taken and that other local elders were negotiating with the Taliban for their release.
The Taliban did not immediately comment on the abduction.
The insurgent group controls or holds sway over nearly half of Afghanistan, staging near-daily attacks that target Afghan security forces and government officials but also kill scores of civilians.
A suicide car bomb attack Monday killed at lest five Afghan soldiers and wounded four others in the southern Helmand province, ministry of defense spokesman Fawad Aman said.
He said the attacker was shot and killed before reaching his intended target — a checkpoint for an Afghan national army compound — at which point the vehicle exploded.
The Taliban immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
U.S. peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad on Saturday held the first official talks with Afghanistan’s Taliban since President Donald Trump declared a near-certain peace deal with the insurgents dead in September.
The talks will initially focus on getting a Taliban promise to reduce violence, with a permanent cease-fire being the eventual goal, said a U.S. statement. Khalilzad is also trying to lay the groundwork for negotiations between Afghans on both sides of the protracted conflict.”

“The Swedish School Inspectorate has revoked a Gothenburg Islamic school’s licence due to concerns that pupils may be exposed to radical Islamic ideology.
Authorities closed the Safirskolan school after its former owner, Abdel-Nasser el Nadi, had been detained by the Swedish security police (Säpo). Säpo recommended he, and several other Islamic radicals, be deported from the country on national security grounds, Nyheter Idag reports.
While a new individual did take the helm of the school, which was formerly called Vetenskapsskolan (the Science School), the inspectorate determined that the new head was still close enough to el Nadi that the school risked “being subjected to radicalisation and recruitment to environments that accept violence or serious crime as a method of political change”.
“We have made the assessment that the new owner does not take a completely independent position from the previous owner,” said School Inspectorate Divisional Lawyer Johan Kylenfelt.
The closure comes after a number of other controversies surrounding the school and its operations, including a report from Swedish newspaper Expressen that revealed two Islamic State returnees had been employed at the school.
The newspaper, along with the Doku Foundation, also revealed that the school had taken millions of Swedish krona from accounts in Malta and Saudi Arabia as well.
The headmaster of the school Sven-Erik Berg expressed disappointment with the move but the school will have an opportunity to appeal the decision.
Islamic schools have caused controversy in Sweden on more than one occasion, including an incident earlier this year in February in which a journalist from the newspaper Gefle Dagblad was confronted and threatened by an imam as he was investigating an Islamic school linked to the Gävle mosque.
In 2017, the independent Islamic school Al-Azhar came under fire nationally when it was revealed the school used a gender-segregated bussing system, as well as segregating children by gender in physical education.
A poll conducted in 2018 revealed that three in four Swedes were in favour of banning independent religious schools entirely.”

“I think we’ll learn part of the story tomorrow,” Carter Page told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday. As Page had learned, “there’s a lot of exculpatory evidence that’s remaining classified, and there’s been internal battles.” On Monday, the former Trump advisor was on full alert when the Department of Justice Inspector General released the massive Review of Four FISA Applications and Other Aspects of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane Investigation.
“We identified at least 17 significant errors or omissions in the Carter Page FISA applications, and many additional errors in the Woods Procedures” of the FBI, the report explains. On the other hand, the Inspector General did not conclude that the decision to surveille Page “was based on improper considerations in the absence of documentary or testimonial evidence to the contrary.” That leaves open the possibility the someone in the DOJ wasn’t talking, or advanced false information.
The FBI’s Peter Strzok, known for texts with Lisa Page touting an “insurance policy,” appears in the report 66 times. Strzok’s supervisor, William Priestap, Assistant Director of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division, “ultimately made the decision to open the investigation,” and that decision came “after multiple days of discussions and meetings that included Strzok and other leadership in CD, the FBI Deputy Director, the FBI General Counsel, and an FBI Deputy General Counsel.”

Martin Colmans was selling furniture in the Albert Cuyp market in Amsterdam when he was stabbed in the thigh. His son, Sharon, ran out to help him and protect his mother and was stabbed in his back and chest. But he succeeded in preventing the stabber from getting to his mother, Orly.
Tarik Ghani, the Muslim man who stabbed him, ran a hookah shop in the market. The victim said that he noticed a sudden change in his attacker after he returned from the Middle East and was often seen, “reading the Koran.” “He stopped talking to us, shaved his head and prayed all the time. He also began giving us nasty looks.” Other vendors in the Cuyp market stated that Tarik hated Jews. There had been warnings that he might turn violent and attack someone. Those warnings were however disregarded.
Instead of sending him to prison, a Dutch judge sentenced Tarik to a year of psychiatric treatment. The Colmans had asked the judge to take his anti-Semitism into account, instead the judge accepted Tarik’s claim that he was mentally ill and had been hearing voices. There was no evidence for this claim.

Tehran’s tyrants become increasingly desperate.

As protests continue to wreak havoc in Iran with a breadth and intensity not seen since the 1978 revolution against the Shah, Tehran’s clerical rulers and their Revolutionary Guards enforcers have become increasingly desperate.
That could be seen in videos that recently surfaced of the horrific massacre of hundreds of unarmed protestors in Bandar-e Mahshahr, an oil town on the Persian Gulf near Iraq. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his top Iran advisor, Brian Hook, both condemned the regime for sheer evil of this deed, worthy of Hitler’s executioners.
So what is the regime to do? Why, blame the Americans, of course!
In every Iranian media today you will find articles and columns blaming President Trump, Secretary of State Pompeo, and yes – even me! – for fueling the protests.
Hossein Shariatmadari, the executive editor of Kayhan, a daily that is run by Iran’s intelligence ministry, is a top regime propagandist. When things go wrong for his clerical brethren, he reassures them that it’s not their fault: it’s the Americans.

Getting Iran Out of Syria: The Dayan Formula
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: In a recent press conference, Defense Minister Naftali Bennett presented a goal for IDF activity in Syria: “To cause Iran to give up its attempt to entrench itself in Syria.” Unlike the common tendency toward ambiguity in defining strategic objectives, Bennett dared pronounce a clear and measurable goal. But is the goal he presented achievable? And is it right to declare a strategic goal in that way?
Military correspondents have reported that in the IDF General Staff’s assessment, it is doubtful whether expanding offensive activity—however successful—can cause Tehran to renounce its vision and its ambitions in Syria. The Iranian regime and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) are driven by an expansionist Islamist ideology. The constraints of reality are certainly forcing them to make changes and adapt to circumstances, but that is not the same as forsaking their imperialist vision.
A historical perspective is needed here.
Having been enjoined to make sweeping cuts in its order of battle in the wake of Israel’s War of Independence, the IDF found it difficult to find a workable solution to the fedayeen terrorism of the early 1950s. With the forming of commando Unit 101 and its merging with the Paratroopers Brigade under the leadership of Chief of Staff Moshe Dayan, a concept of retaliation gradually developed as a response to this problem. It quickly transpired, however, that despite a string of operational successes, the approach did not bring about a real decline in fedayeen terror.

I’ve had my eye on Naftali Bennett for a few years now.
He and Ayelet Shaked are the best of the next generation. They both need more experience in top cabinet positions. Bibi hasn’t been much good as a mentor, his biggest weakness, in my opinion.
Naftali’s the one who demanded action against the terror tunnels from Gaza in 2014. The chief of the IDF at the time, Benny Gantz, pooh-poohed the threat. Naftali refused to shut up. He’s brilliant, energetic, Modern Orthodox. [Disclaimer: I know his parents.]

Virginia County Passes Militia Resolution to Prepare for Potential Gun Control Wave
As a result of a number of proposed anti-gun bills in Virginia, many of its cities and counties have declared themselves Second Amendment sanctuaries. However, one county went above and beyond by passing a Militia Resolution.
This resolution codifies the establishment and maintenance of a de facto militia in Tazewell county.
Firearms News reached out to the Tazewell councilman Thomas Lester, who is also a professor of American History and Political Science.
