Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • It was a given that this would be tried. The Chinese aren’t the only ones who will want to use this technique to continue as an immortal and immoral God Emperor. I can think of several ego maniacs in North America who would jump at the chance to push their insanity on the future generations and be alive to watch what is happening.

While this is happening there will also be a market for clones of famous people and actors.

      • The Chinese simply do it openly, hence the publication. Ever since “Dolly” we have all known that elite funded research has been well under way in the west and well hidden as they need not ask for funding. The chimaera attempts are interesting as humans are a strange combination of pig(organs and skin and teeth totally unlike that of the apes ) and chimpanzee( skeleton) and the multiple failed attempts indicate the this happening in the real world as a result of a randy chimp mounting a grazing sow is extremely unlikely. So, if you read the Veda then who did do it? I doubt that this was accidental and much of man’s prehistory is politically edited and extremely flimsy as evidence including the first “men” being black at a time when the supposed birth place was temperate. Read “Forbidden Archaeology” (all of it gulp!) to find what you are not supposed to know.

    • Here is another Chinese experiment for you.

Chinese scientists have created pig monkey hybrids – paving the way to a future in which human organs could be custom-grown in animals for transplant.

  4. TURLEY ATTACKED BEFORE IMPEACHMENT TESTIMONY ENDED
Before law professor Jonathan Turley finished testimony about the impeachment of President Trump before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, the leftist rage machine whirred to life. Turley’s opinion that impeaching Trump is “wrong” because the Democrats have failed to make a case for it didn’t go over well, and so before he even emerged from the committee room, his office was hit with threats and demands he be fired. Turley offense? Turley, who voted for Obama and Hillary Clinton, repeated what he has said for some time; the Democrats are manufacturing crimes out of political differences. R Cort Kirkwood

    • It won’t be long before the left starts physically attacking and killing those who disagree with them. The left has created the current mess and are going to discover that they can’t turn off the rage machine, they have built up too much hate for a peaceful solution to be possible.

        • Good point. I was thinking about targeted attacks on politicians and opinion people in the Propaganda Media, Radio, TV and on the Net. Random terror attacks like Vegas are a part of the war that I wasn’t thinking about. Probably because all of my training has been towards fighting specific targets (enemy military) not random attacks on Civilians.

  5. AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL TEAMS WITH RADICALS TO BLAST ISRAEL & INDIA
A local chapter of the global human rights group Amnesty International is teaming with radical anti-Israel groups Sunday in Dallas for a discussion equating the “colonial and recent history” of Palestine and Kashmir that “have been embroiled in conflict and military occupation.” This is yet another example of Amnesty’s anti-Israel bias. The human rights group describes Israel as an “apartheid state” and unfairly excoriates the Jewish state on its Palestine policy. It is also a staunch advocate of the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement that seeks to isolate Israel economically and politically. Sunday’s event is another example of the growing use of “intersectional” politics – an alliance of aggrieved interest groups – among AMP and like-minded groups to garner greater support to advance their Islamist agendas. 9. Last night we went to what I thought was the kids’ highschool Christmas concert. Not a single traditional, or even non-traditional song or reference was made to the birth of Jesus. I’ll just have to wait for that, I guess.

The evening began with the requisite virtue-signalling, hollow squawk that the night’s concert is being held on land ripped-off from the Algonquin indians. I would have appreciated the MC announcing at about the two-hour mark a sincere gesture of this debt reconciliation–that we were giving the land back to the dead indians on behalf of our dead ancestors–right then and there, to close out the night. Though lovely and full of talented students, it was getting long on songs, particularly the Arabesque and Asian orchestral delights. –Nothing like a bit of cultural appropriation in the service of diversity and inclusion. To hell with Silent Night. In the sombre muted moment immediately following that pronouncement a white man in the audience stood and bolted out the door of the auditorium, his jazz hands flailing in respectful anguish. I understood him to be symbolic of the collective guilt of all white males in attendance. Moral inversion was the room tone of what otherwise was a great concert.

Half way through the evening a woman went to the microphone to tell us that this was the 30-year anniversary of the mass murder of 14 women at the Montreal college Ecole Polytechnique by Muslim convert Marc Lepine. She said the sensitive people in the audience could leave the room during her address, if they wished, due to the gruesome nature of its subject matter. Oddly, I thought it should be her asking the permission of the two-or-so-thousand sitting before her, whether or not she can speak on this subject with children present. It was the perfect example of self-righteous leftist dog wagging.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/beta.ctvnews.ca/local/montreal/2019/12/6/1_4718092.html

Gender-based violence was the repurposed cause of this tragedy, said the woman. Now if only we could scrub the Koran from existance half our problems would be solved. At this point a second white ghost shot up and zig-zagged like a beheaded chicken, running blindly into the wall before hitting the exit door. Symbolism should learn how to be a little more graceful. I could hear a pin drop, except for the voice screaming in my head. I imagined the unimaginable public humiliation I would suffer at the utterance, at that silent moment, of any allusion to the killer being a product of the Religion of Peace, and that white, male-based, gender-based, nonsense-based aggression is possibly, just possibly, a misplaced cause of that real tragedy, because the majority of men are fine and kind, and if Islam is known to be a component of any violent event it cannot be ignored in the context of said event.

NeoMarxist grown-ups will appropriate a highschool students’ musical showcase for their own political agenda. They should let kids be kids.

  10. Six Saudis are arrested over Pensacola naval base shooting including three who FILMED the attack by countryman who killed three and wounded eight before being shot dead – as FBI probes terror link

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7764063/Naval-Air-Station-Pensacola-Florida-lockdown-reports-active-shooter.htmlThe Air Force trainee who killed three and injured eight when he opened fire at a naval base in Florida assailed the United States as ‘a nation of evil’ before he went on his shooting rampage, AFP reports.

The man, first identified by NBC News as Saudi national Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, opened fire inside a classroom at Naval Air Station in Pensacola early Friday morning. Police quickly responded to the scene and he was shot dead.

US officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation, said the suspect was a second lieutenant attending the aviation school at the base.

Meanwhile six other Saudi nationals were arrested near the base shortly after the attack, as investigators began to probe a terror link.

Three of the six were seen filming the entire incident as it unfolded, a source told The New York Times on Friday evening.

No officials have yet stated whether any of them were students inside the classroom where the shooting occurred.

  12. External Meddling in Libyan War Grows, New Types of Arms Come to Country – UN Envoy (sputniknews, Dec 7, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/africa/201912071077510474-external-meddling-in-libyan-war-grows-new-types-of-arms-come-to-country/

“External interference in the Libya war is growing with new kinds of weapons arriving in the country, UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the Support Mission in Libya Ghassan Salame said.

“What is important for us to know is that since the beginning of the war external interference in the Libyan crisis has grown up in different ways, including in the technical support, and this applies to both [Libyan] parties. …This cannot be allowed to happen indefinitely”, Salame said at the Mediterranean Dialogues forum in Rome.
The UN representative was especially concerned about an influx of new types of arms into the country.

“My efforts have been concentrated on the domestic scene in Libya in order to contain foreign influence. But with the war going on, external interference is becoming much more intense, new kinds of weapons are coming to the country”, Salame warned.

He lamented that the Security Council had been unable to produce a call for a ceasefire, which is why the special envoy had decided to change the strategy and try to forge an international consensus on Libya in other ways.

“That is the Berlin process. Trying to bring together the Security Council and other countries to work out a minimal international consensus on Libya”, Salame added.
He noted that international polarisation in Libya was still very high…”

  13. Pakistan Court Gives Four-Day Breather to Mumbai Terror Attack Accused Hafiz Saeed (sputniknews, Dec 7, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/asia/201912071077509890-pakistan-court-gives-four-day-breather-to-mumbai-terror-attack-accused-hafiz-saeed/

“The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Pakistan’s Punjab province has registered 23 cases against Saeed and his accomplices on alleged charges of terror financing in different cities of the region. The Jammat-ud-Dawah (JuD) chief has been in prison since 17 July 2019.

A court in Pakistan’s Punjab province gave a brief respite to 2008 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed after law enforcement authorities surprisingly failed to produce co-accused Malik Zafar Iqbal for trial on Saturday.

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Pakistan’s Lahore city has now fixed 11 December as the date for the framing of charges against the founder of militant and Islamic fundamentalist groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jammat-ud-Dawah (JuD), along with the other co-accused.

“Case against Hafiz Saeed and others under the FIR 30/19 Counter Terrorism Department of Punjab police was fixed for framing of charges in connection with terror financing before the Anti-Terrorism Court-1 Lahore but strangely co-accused Malik Zafar Iqbal was not produced from jail. Due to this reason, the case has been adjourned till 11 December for further proceedings and for framing of the charges”, a court official said after the hearing.

ATC Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta was quoted by Pakistani media as saying that he would frame charges next Wednesday against both Saeed and Iqbal, directing law enforcement officials to ensure that Iqbal attends the next hearing.

Earlier, Saeed was brought to the court amid tight security from Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail. The media was not allowed to cover the proceedings in the court for security reasons.
During the last hearing, the judge fixed 7 December as the date for the indictment of Saeed and other co-accused after hearing arguments of the prosecution and the defence.

Saeed and his co-accused are facing terror finance cases registered against them in the Pakistani cities of Lahore, Gujranwala, and Multan.

The Pakistani government is under pressure from the international community to investigate the activities of both the LeT and the JuD, besides the latter’s charity wing – the Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF).

The US Department of the Treasury has designated Saeed as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist. Washington has offered a $10 million reward for anyone providing information to bring the JuD chief to justice.”

  14. Hong Kong stands by ‘one country, two systems’ policy with China

China is planning to develop the country’s Greater Bay Area, using a strategy officials said will further encourage the ‘one country, two systems’ policy with Hong Kong. Chinese officials released the initiative on Friday, calling it “a role model of high quality development” and cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong.

The ‘one country two systems’ policy has allowed Hong Kong to remain capitalist, despite mainland China being socialist.

The report said the major infrastructure and city development plan includes a city cluster and tech hub. It will also expand on the Belt and Road Initiative, which is already in place.

“I hope that Hong Kong will be confident and can actively implement the policy,…grasp the opportunities brought by the Belt and Road Initiative and the Greater Bay Area development, and make full use of its advantages,” stated HKETO Director Bill Li.

    • Hong Kong police chief promises flexibility ahead of rally

BEIJING/HONG KONG (Reuters) – Hong Kong’s new police commissioner said on Saturday his force would take a flexible approach to pro-democracy demonstrations as the city gears up for a rally on Sunday that is expected to draw a huge crowd.

Chris Tang was appointed last month upon his predecessor’s retirement and amid six months of sometimes violent anti-government protests in Chinese-ruled Hong Kong. He was speaking in Beijing on a “courtesy visit” during which he briefed top officials in charge of public security, legal and Hong Kong affairs.

  15. Families living on same street as convicted terrorist slam police ‘No one told us’ (express, Dec 7, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1213944/terror-news-nazam-hussain-stoke-on-trent-london-stock-exchange-terror-plot-london-bridge

“FURIOUS families living alongside an al-Qaeda recruit are demanding answers about how a convicted terrorist was allowed to live on their quiet cul-de-sac without them knowing.

Dangerous Nazam Hussain was one of three jihadists – including London Bridge killer Usman Khan – convicted of a 2010 plot to blow up the London Stock Exchange. Last weekend counter-terrorist officers swooped on Hussain’s home just hours after Khan stabbed two Cambridge University graduates to death during his deadly rampage in the capital.

That was the first neighbours knew the 34-year-old had been living in Lindley Street, Stoke-on-Trent, for the past two months.

Now, Hussain has been recalled to prison after being arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts.

But people living in the two rows of terraced houses are angry that although they have the legal right to know if he was a convicted paedophile they had no right to know about his terrorist past.

Neighbours said Hussain, who they have since recognised from his police mugshot, was seen carrying a prison bag when he arrived at the property in September where he was met by police.

Tom Carter, 27, said: “My next-door neighbour saw him when he moved in with a clear bag and police officers, but nobody informed us that he was a terrorist.

“It’s wrong, you don’t expect to have a terrorist living two doors down. I don’t think terrorists should be released at all. If we’d been informed that he was a terrorist he wouldn’t have been living here.

“It’s scary to think we were living so close to someone like that. I’m glad he’s gone now, the police were here for three days and they had forensics here.

“I left for work one morning and the door was wide open so I offered the officers a coffee. It was surreal when it all came out.”

Peter Havran, 40, said: “I only ever saw him in the mornings but when my neighbour showed me a picture of him in the news I knew it was him. It’s scary and I thought ‘oh my God’.

“When he moved in he started saying ‘Hello’ but then towards the end he would always have his hood up and he wouldn’t talk to you.”

Hussain was jailed in 2012 for his part in a jihadi network which also involved terror cells in London and Cardiff who were plotting to attack the London Stock Exchange.

Hussain, Khan and the third member of the cell, Mohammed Shahjahan, initially acted as a self-contained radical cell, preaching an extreme version of Islam on the streets of Stoke-on-Trent.

In 2012, Hussain and the two others were handed an indeterminate sentence for public protection after admitting engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism.

He appealed the sentence and in 2013 was handed a 16-year prison sentence which saw him become eligible for release last December.

In 2011 the Government introduced “Sarah’s Law” in honour of Sarah Payne, who was killed by paedophile Roy Whiting, which allows people to check whether their partners, or someone with whom their children had close contact, were sex offenders. There is no similar legislation for people convicted of terror offences.

West Midlands Police have confirmed the search of the Lindley Street property was “part of an ongoing investigation”.

A police spokesman said: “A 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of the preparation of terrorist acts has been recalled to prison due to a suspected breach of his licence conditions.

“Inquiries by West Midlands counter-terrorism unit into the suspected terrorism offences are continuing.””

  16. More French protests see roads blocked, trains disrupted and scuffles in Paris

PARIS (Reuters) – Truckers blocked roads in about 10 regions around France on Saturday to protest against a planned reduction in tax breaks on diesel for road transport, while train and metro services remained heavily disrupted by a strike against pension reform.

In Paris there were scuffles with police in the Denfert Rochereau area of the residential Left Bank as several hundred “yellow vest” protesters continued their weekly demonstrations, but numbers were relatively small compared with previous weeks as the transport strike made it hard to reach the capital.

  17. Gunman kills at least 25 activists after firing on anti-government protesters in Baghdad – as drone bombs home of Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr (dailymail, Dec 7, 2019)
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7766959/Gunman-kills-25-activists-firing-anti-government-protesters.html

“An armed drone targeted the home of an influential Iraqi cleric just hours after at least 25 protesters were killed when gunmen opened fire in Baghdad.

Muqtada al-Sadr, the head of parliament’s Sairoon bloc, said a drone had attacked his home in the holy city of Najaf on Saturday, according to statements from the political party.

Al-Sadr has backed the anti-government rallies rocking Iraq, sending his supporters into the streets of the capital overnight to ‘protect protesters’ after unidentified gunmen attacked a protest camp. It is believed Al-Sadr was not in the country at the time.

More than 130 were wounded by gunfire and stabbings targeting anti-government protesters near Tahrir Square late on Friday, police and medical sources said. At least 25 were killed in the conflict, including three police officers.

Thousands of Iraqis have occupied the central square and three nearby bridges which lead to the city’s Green Zone for weeks, calling for the complete uprooting of the current political system.

Security sources said they could not identify the gunmen who attacked protesters.

‘They fired intensely, mercilessly on the protesters,’ one witness said. ‘They wouldn’t let us evacuate the wounded. It was slaughter.’

The incident was followed by further intimidation early this morning, as unknown gunmen drove in a convoy down the main riverside street which leads to Tahrir Square, firing a volley of shots towards it.

The heavily armed, masked gunmen roamed the street near the square and attempted to advance onto Tahrir Square but were eventually turned around at a checkpoint manned by Iraq’s security forces, witnesses said.

The incidents were the most violent flare-ups in the capital for weeks and came a week after Iraqi’s prime minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, said he would resign following two months of anti-government protests.

Hours earlier, Washington had imposed sanctions on three Iranian-backed paramilitary leaders who it accused of directing the killing of Iraqi protesters.

A senior US Treasury official suggested the sanctions were timed to distance those figures from any role in forming a new government.

The deaths pushed the toll since early October to more than 440 dead and nearly 20,000 wounded, according to a toll compiled from medics, police and a national commission.

Diplomats in Baghdad were shocked at the violence, with the European Union’s ambassador Martin Huth saying he was ‘outraged and deeply saddened at last night’s killings.’…”

  18. 82 Per Cent of Britons Back Scrapping Early Release After Terror Attack (breitbart, Dec 7, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/12/07/82-per-cent-britons-back-end-early-release-terror-attack/

“… YouGov measured the impact of the London Bridge terror attack and found that 82 per cent of the general population backs the end of automatic early release. Broken down by political affiliation, at least three-quarters of all those backed scrapping automatic release for terrorists, with the proposal having the support of 91 per cent of those intending to vote Conservative, 79 per cent of Liberal Democrats, and 75 per cent of Labour supporters.

The latter findings will prove problematic for Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who said that convicted terrorists should “not necessarily” have to serve their full prison term after the attack.

In further bad news for Corbyn, it was found that Britons trust the Conservatives by more than two-to-one (43 per cent to 21 per cent) over Labour to handle issues of security and anti-terrorism. Amongst Conservative voters, that figure is an overwhelming 91 per cent. However, Labour voters only have two-thirds’ the confidence in their own party to handle security and terrorism, with only 59 per cent saying their party was up to the challenge.

Similar figures are seen in terms of which leader Britons think could handle the issues of security and anti-terrorism. At more than two-to-one, Britons back Boris over Corbyn (45 per cent to 22 per cent). Ninety-three per cent of Tories back Boris to lead the country in national security matters, compared to 60 per cent of Labour voters having confidence in Corbyn.

YouGov’s study also revealed on Thursday that Britons feel overall less confident in authorities to deal with the threat of extremism and increased fear in the likelihood of an attack.

In the survey taken between December 2nd and 3rd, 62 per cent of respondents say they think the threat of a terror attack had increased in the last five years, up from 47 per cent when Britons were asked the same question between November 5th and 6th. Eighty-seven per cent think further attacks are likely (up seven per cent since last month).

Less than half — 45 per cent — think the government is dealing with the threat of extremism effectively — down from 64 per cent from November. One in ten Britons also think it is likely that they, or a loved one, will some day be harmed in a terror attack.

The Times reported on Thursday that terror arrests are at their lowest since 2011, despite an increase in investigations. Figures released by the Home Office also revealed that 53 convicted terrorists were released on licence in the year to June.

Media reported on Friday that Usman Khan’s body had been sent to Pakistan for burial, with a cousin telling Sky News that his parents “don’t want to bury him in the UK” because they were “scared”.”

  19. Former Anti-Terror Judge Warns of Danger from Jihadis Set for Prison Release (breitbart, Dec 7, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/12/07/former-french-anti-terrorist-judge-warns-danger-jihadis-prison-release/

“French former anti-terrorist judge Marc Trévidic has warned that there is a substantial danger posed to the public by terrorism convicts set for release in the next two years.

Mr Trévidic said that starting in 2020 and 2021, prisoners convicted for joining the Islamic State in Syria will be eligible for prison release and noted that there were currently around 400 such individuals in French prisons, broadcaster Public Sénat reports.

The former anti-terror judge gave his warning in response to the recent London Bridge terror attack which involved an Islamic radical previously convicted for terror offences and let out of prison but forced to wear an electronic tag after being part of a rehabilitation programme.

“We are in an area where the risk of re-offending is very high. You must not fool yourself. I would compare that to serial criminals, or serial rapists,” Trévidic said. He added: “This is even truer when there is an ideology that still exists.”

He added that it was challenging to deradicalise such individuals, stating that it was easy enough for them to find themselves back in a radical Islamist atmosphere, whether it was in prison, on social media, or even with their own families.

Trévidic said that while deradicalisation was important, it was far more important to combat initial radicalisation. “It’s even harder to deradicalise people who are highly radicalised than it is to fight against global warming,” he said.

“We do not know what the good solutions to de-radicalise someone are. Nobody knows how we can be sure we have even succeeded,” he added.

Earlier this year, French justice minister Nicole Belloubet announced that 254 Islamist terrorists would be set for release by 2022 and said that nearly a 1,000 more prisoners who had been convicted of other crimes had been radicalised while in prison.”

  20. Europe: School Tests Show Huge Gaps Between Migrants and Natives (breitbart, Dec 7, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/12/07/austria-school-tests-show-continued-gap-between-migrants-and-natives/

“According to data from the new Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) study, immigrants in Austria still perform far below their native counterparts. In Germany, 20 per cent of 15-year-olds can barely read.

The proportion of migrant students in Austria has also increased over the last 20 years, from 11 per cent in 200 to 23 per cent in 2019. During this period, migrant children have consistently scored worse than native Austrian children in testing, Kronen Zeitung reports.

Since the height of the migrant crisis in 2015, there has been a consistent 63-point difference in testing between migrants and natives in Austria, one of the highest gaps in Europe.

Finland scored the highest in testing differences between migrants and natives with a 92-point difference, with Sweden coming in second with an 83-point difference.

Finland scored the second-highest on the PISA test in Europe, with Estonia scoring the highest.

The testing gap between natives and migrants in Austria is largely equal to that of neighbouring Germany, which despite having a robust economy has seen declines in several educational areas including reading, where around 20 per cent of 15-year-olds cannot read at a primary school level.

Kiel education researcher Olaf Köller told German media the results were a “cause for alarm”. Mr Köller stated: “The so-called risk group, so 15-year-olds who can not spell and count correctly, is at 21 per cent again — almost as large as the PISA shock two decades ago.”

Students in Germany were also asked questions about their reading habits and only a quarter said that they read as a hobby, while 34 per cent said reading was a waste of time.

Integration of migrant children has been a significant difficulty in Germany. Heinz-Peter Meidinger, president of the German Teachers Association, stated last year that the quality of learning had declined in schools with a large number of students who do not speak proficient German.

In the city of Duisburg, it was revealed earlier this year that only 8.2 per cent of children in elementary schools with migration backgrounds could speak the German language fluently.”

  21. Migrants Account for Nearly Half of Rapists in Italy (breitbart, Dec 7, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/12/07/migrants-account-for-nearly-half-of-rapists-in-italy/

“Data from the Italian Interior Ministry has stated that 42 out of 100 rapes in the country are committed by migrants and the numbers continue to rise.

The statistics from the Interior Ministry also suggest that Italian women are more prone to be the victims of sexual harassment and minor sex attacks than foreign women, while foreign women have a slightly higher rate for serious sex crimes such as violent rape, Il Giornale reports.

Earlier this week in Naples, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 30-year-old non-European Union migrant who forced her into his car and drove her to an isolated area where he tied her wrists together and raped her. She told police that the man had been stalking her for some time before the incident.

Italy has seen a number of migrant sex attacks in recent months, including the rape of a girl in March by a gang of five migrants from Albania and Morocco, as well as the rape of a 15-year-old in Tissino by Moroccan migrants in October. Both incidents also involved illegal drugs.

One of the most infamous cases involving an Italian teen who was drugged and raped, occurred last year in Rome.

16-year-old Desirée Mariottini was drugged and then raped by several migrant men who are alleged to have purposely given her an overdose that led to her death. The trial of four African men accused of raping and murdering the teen began earlier this week in Rome.

Violent attacks by migrants have also become more common across the country. Earlier this week, a 27-year-old man in Taranto was so viciously beaten by a group of migrants that he lost all of his teeth and remains in hospital where he is only able to eat liquid with the aid of a nurse.

The man’s wife posted pictures of his condition on social media stating that the gang of migrants beat her husband “for fun” and asked if these were the same migrants leftist “do-gooders” praised.

A report from the Italian Interior Ministry released last August suggested that nearly one in three crimes in Italy are committed by migrants despite migrants making up just eight percent of the population.”

    • CAMBRIDGE – Turkish president rejects reference to ‘Islamic terror’

Racism, discrimination, Islamophobia have spread like poison ivy, says President Erdogan

[…]A Muslim cannot be a terrorist and Islam does not produce terrorists, the Turkish president said on Thursday, once again rejecting the term “Islamic terrorism”.

[…]Recep Tayyip Erdogan said racism, discrimination and Islamophobia have spread like poison ivy in countries once seen as cradles of democracy.

[…]Erdogan said workplaces, homes and places of worships of Muslims and foreigners are targeted by racists and fascist almost every day.

[…]“Muslim women are abused only because they are wearing headscarves” in Islamophobic attacks,

[…]“You cannot bring the words terror and Islam together. If you keep doing it, then we are condemning those who do it,” he added.

A Muslim cannot be a terrorist; Islam does not produce terrorists, Erdogan underlined.

“We do not accept the Islamic terrorism etiquette, [a term] some insistently try to keep popular.”

Erdogan said Turkey has been fighting Daesh/ISIS more effectively than any other country, noting that 3,000 terrorists were neutralized only in Syria’a Al Bab town.

Erdogan said he rejects any distinction of “good or bad” terrorist and all terrorists of Daesh, FETO, PKK/YPG, even Neo-Nazis are “bloodthirsty vampires”.

Speaking about Europe’s first eco-friendly mosque built in Cambridge, Erdogan said the mosque will be the “best response to rising Islamophobia”.

“I believe this mosque, which has become the symbol of solidarity against discrimination from the first moment, will, God willing, continue to be the center of unity, conversation and peace in the future,” he said.

[…]More than 10,000 people and groups donated money for the landmark purchase, with Turkish groups donating most generously. The Qatar National Fund also was among the donors.

[…]In the project, Islam’s aesthetics and the Prophet Muhammad’s life and the importance he placed on protecting nature were used as an inspiration.

  23. Sanctuary: The left set the precedent for gun-rights supporters and now they don’t like it

ome on the left are angry, if not apoplectic, that conservatives are turning the tables on them and co-opting one of their own tactics against liberal policies. But turnabout, as they say, is fair play: Self-styled “progressives,” it seems, aren’t the only ones who can unilaterally decide which laws they will or will not enforce and/or comply with.

Across the country, a growing number of county sheriffs and other law enforcement officials, as well as other city and county officials, are announcing their refusal to enforce unduly restrictive gun laws that they believe run afoul of the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. They’re declaring their jurisdictions “Second Amendment sanctuaries.”

If liberal “sanctuary” cities, counties and even states defiantly refuse to cooperate fully with federal immigration laws with respect to the detention and deportation of illegal aliens, then their objections should fall on deaf ears when other towns, cities and counties won’t go along when liberal governors and Democrat-controlled legislatures enact strict gun-control measures.

Even in purple states such as Colorado and in blue ones, such as New Mexico and Illinois, dozens of counties are defying Democratic governors and legislatures and telling them they won’t aid and abet the would-be gun grabbers in their efforts to “unconstitutionally restrict” the right to bear arms.

  25. BBC News – Hezbollah deputy leader Naim Qassem Interview

Assessing what’s happening in the Islamic Republic of Iran has never been easy since the revolution, and the fall of the Shah, changed the country profoundly forty years ago, in 1979.

Access for foreign journalists and analysts is difficult bordering on the impossible.
What’s clear is that the Iranians face a serious set of problems:

    – American sanctions – Donald Trump calls its maximum pressure.
    – Internal dissent leading to the killing of around 200 protestors by the security forces in the last fortnight.
    – And anti Iranian demonstrations in their ally and neighbour, Iraq – and without violence and with less anger, a desire among many in another friendly territory, Lebanon, for an end to their influence.

In Lebanon the influence comes through their ally and protégé, Hezbollah, the most powerful single group in the country. It fought in Syria on the side of the Assad regime (iran’s other ally) – and is with Iran at the top of Israel’s list of enemies. Britain and the US and others regard it as a terror group.

The BBC’s Middle East Editor Jeremy Bowen met the deputy leader of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem in Beirut – the organisation gives very few interviews so it was a rare chance to get Hezbollah’s view of the Middle East.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Saudi student who fatally shot three people at a U.S. naval base in Florida hosted a dinner party earlier in the week where he and three others watched videos of mass shootings, a U.S. official told The Associated Press on Saturday.

One of the three students who attended the dinner party videotaped outside the building while the shooting was taking place at Naval Air Station Pensacola on Friday, said the U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity after being briefed by federal authorities. Two other Saudi students watched from a car, the official said.

The official said 10 Saudi students were being held on the base Saturday while several others were unaccounted for.

  28. I’M REALLY WORRIED ABOUT THIS

A lot of investors these days are worried about possible changes to the capital gains inclusion rate. In the last election, the NDP proposed moving the rate to 75 per cent, from 50 per cent currently. This means that 75 per cent of your capital gains would be taxable. The Liberals, with a minority government, may look at the inclusion rate as a possible bargaining tactic in garnering NDP support in getting a future budget approved.

We try not to get political in this column. Stocks are way more fun than politics. We are of the view that, if you own one or two great companies, for the long term, you will make so much money that whatever the government throws at you, you will still be OK.

But we are breaking our rule today, because increasing the capital gains inclusion rate would be bad, just so bad. Here are five reasons why:

    The economy couldn’t take it

Sure, the Canadian economy is doing ‘OK’. But third quarter GDP growth of 1.3 per cent is not exactly gangbusters. Trade wars, rising wages, energy issues; there are many potential problems lurking in the background. Raising taxes now — any taxes — simply puts too much pressure on the economy, when growth is somewhat tenuous.

    t won’t work

Politicians like to target ‘the rich’ as it is a popular tactic, and that’s where the money is. The theory here is that rich people are more likely to be the ones to own stocks and other capital assets, so they can afford to pay more in taxes. But the rich have an advantage: they typically don’t need to sell stocks in order to fund their expenses. If the capital gains rate goes up, more than likely they just won’t sell stocks. After all, letting stocks grow and compound is probably a better strategy anyway, assuming you don’t need the money. The ‘rich’ might also just not sell in anticipation of a future government reversing any increase in the capital gains inclusion rate. So, all that money the government expects from the higher tax rate simply might not flow in. But the middle class, those who might need to sell a stock or two once in a while, they will still get hurt.

All investments are not the same

Politicians seem determined to equalize the tax rate, so that taxes on dividends and capital gains become more similar. But they don’t get it. An investment in a junior gold mine is dramatically different than an investment in a Canadian bank paying dividends. Risk capital needs to be rewarded, and the low tax rate on capital gains is the best incentive investors have to support small and growing companies. Considering that the mining and energy sectors are still very large parts of our economy, certain segments of the economy could be devastated as risk capital disappears and heads for safer investments that are taxed exactly the same as risky investments.

    All investments may go down

Stock markets don’t like change, and this would be a big one. If the government needs an example, look to the October 2006 Halloween massacre of income trusts when the government at the time randomly changed the rules. So, while in the governments’ mind they will make ‘more’ by increasing the inclusion rate, in reality they may end up with less, as many capital gains might simply disappear in a declining stock market environment.
Canada needs more investment, not less

Moving the capital gains rate higher will result, simply, in less investment in Canada. Whether from domestic investors simply not being compensated for risk, or from international investors seeing our tax policies as detrimental to business and growth, Canada is going to suffer. The dollar might get hit as well.

So let’s sum up: Changing the inclusion rate will result in weak investment, a declining GDP (possibly into recession), no investments in the sectors that built Canada, a possibly weak Canadian dollar, and, oh yeah, possibly lower tax revenue than before anyway.

Hey, politicians: Just. Don’t. Do. It.

  31. Vatican Cardinal Claims Migrants on Greek Island Live in ‘Concentration Camps’ (Breitbart, Dec 7, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/12/07/vatican-cardinal-claims-migrants-on-greek-island-live-in-concentration-camps/

“The pope’s right-hand man for charitable outreach has returned to Rome from the Greek island of Lesbos with 33 migrants in tow and a harsh assessment of the state of affairs for migrants on the island.

“The camps are not refugee camps, they are concentration camps,” said Cardinal Konrad Krajewski on arriving in Rome’s Fiumicino airport Wednesday with 33 asylum-seekers hailing from Afghanistan, Cameroon, and Togo.

The cardinal said that the population of the two major migrant camps had more than doubled since his visit there last May, from 7,000 people to 15,000, and the camps are not equipped to handle these numbers of arrivals.

The migrants start lining up for dinner at 2:00 p.m., he said, even though dinner won’t be served until 7:00 p.m. Many have no access to electricity and most will not have their first appointment to apply for documents until 2021.

“They live like this,” Krajewski said. “There’s no hope there.”

“The situation of migrants screams at us,” the Polish cardinal said. “And there is great compassion from the Holy Father towards these people, and we are doing everything we can to wake up every bishop in Europe, especially the bishops’ conferences. It is a shame for Europe.”

“We start from the pope, then the cardinals, bishops and priests, opening our homes and our palaces, because we have the space and we have the funds,” he said.

The Cardinal’s grim appraisal of the situation on Lesbos echoed that of Andrea Riccardi, the founder of the Community of Sant’Egidio, a Catholic charitable community that assisted in flying the refugees to Rome and will attend to their needs in Italy.

“Hope ends when they arrive in Greece,” he said.

Riccardi added that he had received hi marching orders directly from Pope Francis, who wished to give continuity to his own visit to Lesbos in 2016, when he famously brought back 12 Muslim migrants with him in the papal plane back to Rome.

“The pope said to me, ‘we have to do something, because my trip to Lesbos cannot be a simple episode. It must be a start. We need to give these people a sign of hope,’” he said.

Last May, on the third anniversary of the pope’s trip to Lesbos, he asked his Krajewski, who bears the title of “papal almoner,” to return to the island to “renew solidarity with the Greek people and refugees” and to make “a further gesture of solidarity” by bringing back a group of asylum-seekers.

According to a communiqué from the papal almoner’s office sent to Breitbart News, “after an intense period of official negotiations between the relevant bodies in order to open this new humanitarian corridor, the Ministry of the Interior of the Italian Republic has given the final consent to carry out the operation.””

  35. Democrats are not only trying to remove the duly elected president of the United States, they are now actively passing measures that will only benefit them in future elections — including the 2020 presidential election.

One day after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced her party would officially introduce articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, her party passed a bill that will undermine state voter identification laws.

While Republicans believe only legal citizens with valid, photo identification should be able to vote in America’a elections, Democrats are passing bills that would undo all of that.

The Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 4 on Friday by a mostly party-line vote of 228-187.

H.R. 4 — also called the Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2019 — is an effort by House Democrats to restore preclearance provisions of the 1965 Voting Rights Act that were thrown out by the Supreme Court in the 2013 ruling on Shelby County v. Holder.

The leftist legislation will do this by updating the preclearance formula that the Supreme Court rejected years ago, Conservative Review reported.
