Germany: Concrete Christmas trees shields market from Muslim attacks
With the holiday season just six weeks away, special security barriers made of concrete appeared at Essen’s Christmas market.
A visit to the bustling square on Friday showed the green Christmas tree-shaped blocks deployed to protect the stalls from Muslim attacks.
The blocks, 1.8m high and weighing around three tonnes, were installed at the markets’ entrance which faces the city main station.
Security around Christmas markets has been tightened ever since the attack on Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz event in 2016, which claimed the lives of 12 infidels.

United States (1971), for example, the Court held that the First Amendment protected the newspaper’s right to publish the Pentagon Papers, writing that, if a newspaper “lawfully obtains truthful information about a matter of public significance … then state officials may not constitutionally punish publication of the information, absent a need … of the highest order.”
But the Court did not extend that protection to the individual who broke the law to initially obtain that information. In fact, Daniel Ellsberg, who leaked the Pentagon Papers to the New York Times after illegally obtaining them, was charged with six counts of espionage, six for theft, and one for conspiracy.”

Article 370 of the Constitution of India was revoked to quell almost 30 years of terrorist disturbances that had stunted progress of the state.
India’s Foreign Minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar has justified a decision regarding Jammu and Kashmir, saying it was “necessary” for public order. Three chief ministers of the erstwhile state – Dr Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, and Mehbooba Mufti along with a few hundred “suspected troublemakers” are still under preventive detention.
“I think that is one of the fundamental responsibilities for a government. I prefer preventive detentions and no violence than being complacent with accidents as a result. Sometimes measures must be taken for public order. That is not only justified, but sometimes really necessary”, he told NRC Handelsblad, a daily from the Netherlands. The interview was released by the Indian External Affairs Ministry on Friday (15 November).
Kashmir, which was bifurcated into two federally administered territories, has also not allowed national opposition leaders to visit so far, while a group of European Union parliamentarians were allowed to “see with their own eyes how things were going”.
“A lot would depend on the purpose of the visit. If a group of people wanted to visit Kashmir without prejudice, we wouldn’t say no”, Dr Jaishankar clarified.
Dr Jaishankar, a career diplomat-turned-politician, claimed the Kashmir issue “has been fairly resolved” and normal life was gradually returning to the region. He said even stricter measures were needed in Ayodhya due to terrorism coming from across the border.
India’s Supreme Court has settled a sensitive land dispute case, which had raised passions in the country in 1992, resulting in 2,000 people dying in the violence that ensued. The fiercely contested case between Hindus and Muslims was one of the longest fought litigations in Indian legal history.”

According to preliminary reports, one person has died during clashes in the city of Sirjan.
On Friday, Tehran introduced quotas for retail sales of gasoline and subsequently increased prices.
The move envisages that owners of private cars will be able to purchase 60 litres (13.2 gallons) of gasoline per month, while owners of dual-fuel cars will be able to purchase 30 litres. A separate quota is also provided for taxi drivers — they can use 400 litres of gasoline. A quota for motorcyclists is set at 25 litres, and there are also quotas for trucks and ambulances.
The price for a litre of gasoline within the quota doubled to 15,000 Iranian rials per litre (about $0.36). Each additional litre of gasoline beyond the quota costs 30,000 rials per litre.
In February, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh said that Iran’s gasoline production had grown over 100 percent since 2013, adding that the country could have even become a petrol exporter, but was currently accumulating reserves of the product.”

Car bomb kills at least 18 in Turkey-controlled Syrian city
A car bomb that blew up in the Turkey-controlled Syrian city of al-Bab has killed at least 18 people and left 28 others injured, Turkish media are reporting. Ankara is accusing Kurdish militias of being behind the attack.
The deadly explosion went off near a bus terminal on Saturday, causing the deaths and significant damage in the area. A video published by an Al Jazeera correspondent showed a chaotic scene with multiple small fires and what appears to be a large pool of blood on the ground.

“Relatives and survivors of the September 11th attacks are angry at the Department of Justice for refusing to release information on Saudi Arabia’s role in 9/11.
A groups of survivors walked out of Manhattan Federal Court on Friday upset at the government’s refusal to name a key Saudi official who has been investigated by the FBI, in relation to the deaths of nearly 3,000 people.
The Department is also refusing to release a 16-page document which the victims’ group believe provides a definitive account of Saudi Arabia’s role.
‘How is that transparency for families? For America?’ 9/11 survivor Tim Frolich said to the Daily News outside court.
‘How is that acceptable? How is that the FBI protecting us? That’s the FBI and Saudis basically tied at the hip.’
The survivors have been demanding the information be released for 16 years.
They first filed a lawsuit suggesting Saudi Arabia helped to coordinate the Al Qaeda attack with Saudi officials aiding some of the hijackers before the attacks
Then, three years ago, the FBI closed an investigation into the attacks and compiled a 16-page report that remains a secret to this day.
‘There is a 16-page document reviewing, recapping, summarizing what Saudi officials did as accomplices to the Al Qaeda 9/11 plot and the government is saying, “We’re not giving it to you. We’re keeping it secret,”‘ said plaintiffs’ lawyer Jim Kreindler who says the report is a key piece of evidence.
The majority of the 9/11 attackers were from Saudi Arabia.
In the lawsuit, officials of Saudi embassies are accused of helping hijackers Salem Al-Hazmi and Khalid Al-Mihdhar more than a year before the tragedy.
Officials at the Saudi embassy in Germany reportedly supported the lead hijacker Mohamed Atta.
The lawsuit, which was filed by aviation law firm Kreindler & Kreindler, alleges that a Saudi official was even in the same hotel in Virginia with hijackers the night before the attacks.
A 2012 report which was heavily redacted showed two people who were possibly linked to the Saudi government.
Fahad al-Thumairy and Omar al-Bayoumi, were investigated for assisting the hijackers while the name of a third man was redacted but he is believed to be a high-ranking government official in Riyadh.
Twenty-five 9/11 survivors and relatives of survivors met with the President on September 11th this year.
The following day, Attorney General Bill Barr disclosed the name of the third man to the survivors’ attorneys but the name has not been publicly released.
‘Our government, the Department of Justice, just admitted they have evidence about the third man, and they’re not releasing it,’ Frolich said to the News.
Lawyers for the plaintiffs are pushing to obtain more information about the third man.
‘We categorically deny there’s been any effort to mislead or be evasive,’ Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Normand said in response to the relative’s outcry.
Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn told the survivors and 9/11 families who were present in court that ‘very intense public safety and national security concerns’ were involved in the case.
The lawsuit asserts that the Saudi royals, who for years had been trying to curry favor with fundamentalists to avoid losing power, were aware that funds from Saudi charities were being funneled to al-Qaida.
The lawsuit spells out how money was transferred from charities in Saudi Arabia to the terror group.
Charities the lawsuit claims fronted for al-Qaida include the Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation, an organization that was designated by the U.S. as a sponsor of terrorism.
Kreindler maintains that there was a direct link between all the charities and Osama bin Laden and that they operated with the full knowledge of Saudi officials.
Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama resisted efforts to hold Saudi Arabia accountable. The kingdom is a key ally against Iran, and its oil interests are important to the US.
There have been persistent claims of elements Saudi Arabian involvement – although they have never been tested in court.
The 9/11 commission report’s findings on Saudi disclosed that the first major Al-Qaeda figure picked up after the attacks, terror mastermind Abu Zubaydah, had a private number for a company which managed the estate of Saudi’s then ambassador to Washington, Prince Bandar.
He also had for an unlisted number for a bodyguard at the Saudi Embassy in Washington in his phonebook, which was seized during the raid in Pakistan in which he was held.”

“Turkish authorities have detained 25 relatives of the slain leader of the Daesh* terrorist group Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, general prosecutor’s office of Turkey said on Saturday.
“Al-Baghdadi’s relatives were detained in four provinces as part of an investigation into the IS’ activities. A total of 25 people were detained: 11 in the province of Kirsehir, five in Samsun, three in the Ordu and six in Sanliurfa. Four of the detainees were arrested by the court accused of participating in an armed terrorist organization”, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
The report comes nearly two weeks after Turkish-backed militia in Syria announced they had caught Al-Baghdadi’s sister, Rasmiya Awad, and handed her over to Turkey. 21 members of the family, including children, were sent to repatriation centres where Turkish authorities prepare refugees to be returned to their country of origin.
US President Donald Trump said on 27 October that al-Baghdadi had been killed in a US operation in Syria’s Idlib. Later that day, the Russian Defence Ministry’s spokesman, Igor Konashenkov, said that Russia did not have reliable information that the US military had actually killed al-Baghdadi.
Baghdadi blew himself up along with two children when he was cornered by the US military in his hideout in northern Syria, according to US officials.
The terror leader’s immediate likely successor, Abu Hassan al-Muhajir, was killed in a US airstrike a day later, according to US officials.
The Daesh terrorist group reportedly confirmed the death of its leader on 31 October.

“For years imams leading the Muslim communities in Germany have been educated by foreign-affiliated organisations. The majority of clerics working with 4.5 million Muslims were connected with the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (DITIB), an organisation suspected of having ties with the Turkish government.
After long and heated debates in the country, a new association to educate imams, funded with an investment by Germany’s Interior Ministry, is to start working on 21 November. The pilot project is set to be launched in Lower Saxony.
As its State Ministry for Science and Culture told the German outlet Deutsche Welle, the plan includes the “establishment of a registered association in cooperation with Muslim organisations and mosque communities that are interested” with involving Islamic theology experts. Their project is said to be able to “function as a model”.
The outlet also cites Professor Rauf Ceylan from Osnabrück University, who authored a “road map” for the training programme, as saying that the project would be “putting a foot in the door”. Although he warned against having “high expectations”, he noted that “we just need to start, and I think when the quality shows itself, in the long run it will gain acceptance”.
Although Islamic theology has been taught at several academic institutions across Germany, its graduates could not work as imams as reading of the Koran, prayers, and practice needed special training. The gap was filled by other organisations.
As Green lawmaker Filiz Polat, whose party “had long been asking for” such a programme, has told DW that the move was prompted by the expansion of the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (DITIB), which has about 900 affiliated mosques.
This organisation, alleged to have close ties with Ankara and Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government, has trained and funded the majority of imams, leading the nearly 4.5-million-strong Muslim community in Germany.
The German authorities have been pressured to deal with it for years but the question of funding has remained a hurdle as the country’s Constitution does not allow the state to interfere or influence religious affairs. The state, however, managed to safeguard its neutrality by launching an independent association in which the Central Council of Muslims in Germany (ZMD) will take part. Plans for start-up investment have been confirmed by the Interior Ministry.
“We can’t just always complain that there are foreign imams”, ZMD chairman Aiman Mazyek said, calling the decision “a positive development, but it should have been introduced decades ago”.
According to DW, there are nearly 4.5 million Muslims in Germany with around 3 million people of Turkish origin among them. While many Turks came to Germany as so-called “Gastarbeiters”, who were supposed to leave but eventually settled and had children there, the number of other Muslim groups has also grown over the past few years due to the refugee crisis that erupted in 2015. Asylum seekers from the Middle East and North Africa have fled from wars and economic struggles with over 1.5 million migrants entering the country, encouraged by Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open border policy.”

“Europe is currently home to somewhere between 3.9 and 4.8 million illegal immigrants, according to a new survey by the Pew Research Center.
“Europe has experienced a high level of immigration in recent years, driving debate about how countries should deal with immigrants when it comes to social services, security issues, deportation policies and integration efforts,” Pew notes in its latest study of the question.
“Among these recently arrived immigrants are many who live in Europe without authorization,” the article adds. “Coupled with unauthorized immigrants who were already in Europe, their numbers reach into the millions, though together they make up a small share of Europe’s total population.”
Although the number of illegal migrants in Europe reached its peak in 2016, it has fallen only slightly since then, since Europe has so far been unable to devise an effective system for repatriating those migrants whose appeals for asylum have been rejected. The reason that the number has dropped at all is not because the migrant population has decreased but because many “have been approved to remain in Europe.”
Between 2014 and 2017, Pew reveals, Europe’s illegal migrant population climbed from 3.0-3.7 million to 3.9-4.8 million, a significant increase by any measure.
Illegal immigrants now make up just under 20 percent of Europe’s roughly 24 million foreign nationals, meaning that nearly one in five foreigners living in Europe is doing so without authorization.
According to Pew, nearly one quarter of Europe’s unauthorized immigrants are asylum seekers who are still awaiting a decision on their pending application.
Most of these “entered their country of residence without permission,” Pew states, “and the majority of applicants are now seeing their applications rejected.”
In its current study, Pew defines unauthorized immigrants as “people living without a residency permit in their country of residence who are not citizens of any European Union or European Free Trade Association (EFTA) country.”
“Most unauthorized immigrants entered an EU-EFTA country without authorization, overstayed a visa, failed to leave after being ordered to do so or have had their deportation temporarily stayed,” the article notes.”

“A new report from the Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) has claimed that theft offences have dramatically increased this year to “unequalled levels” across the Paris metro system.
Île-de-France Mobilités, the authority that controls the various transport companies in the Paris region, said that during the first ten months of this year there were 7,485 thefts compared to 4,721 during the same period in 2018, Le Figaro reports.
Around two-thirds of the thefts have been non-violent robberies such as pick-pocketing, which have increased by a staggering 74 per cent this year.
Valérie Pécresse, the head of Île-de-France Mobilités, said that the IDFM will be announcing a new plan to combat the rise in thefts on the Paris Metro and the RER where some stations, such as Châtelet-Les-Halles RER station, have seen a doubling in the number of thefts.
Ms Pécresse also slammed the French government, claiming that some of the responsibility for the rise was due to a downsizing among the police prefecture and a lack of available officers, while the IDFM has invested in 785 additional security staff.
In order to combat the rise in thefts, Pécresse called on the government to increase the police levels back to the same number as 2015.
The Paris Metro has also seen a spike in sex crimes this year, with a report from March claiming that sex attacks had increased by 30 per cent in 2018, with over 1,000 cases reported to the police. Previous surveys had shown that around half of the violence against women occurred on public transport as well.
In 2018, a police officer who worked in plainclothes on the metro system revealed that the vast majority of sex attackers on the metro were men from migration backgrounds.
“For more than ten years that I have done this job, the suspects I have arrested are a very, very large majority from a North African origin,” he told Le Figaro.”

Barr said the “avalanche of subpoenas” and constant attempt to derail appointments by the Trump administration have only served to “incapacitate” the executive branch.

Roger Stone was convicted today on seven counts of process crimes which could put him in prison for the rest of his life.
He’s indicted because corrupt Judge Amy Berman Jackson did not allow Stone to argue for proof that Russians hacked the DNC server, as was reported in the Mueller report. Stone claimed that if the Russians didn’t hack the DNC, his case would be dismissed, but Judge Jackson wouldn’t let him.
We reported on May 11, 2019, that Roger Stone and his legal team requested the report from Crowdstrike, the firm connected with the Deep State who reportedly did inspect the DNC server after emails were released by WikiLeaks. This report was used by the FBI and the Mueller gang as support that the DNC was hacked by Russia.

GOP hero Rep. Jim Jordan (OH) blasted Adam Schiff Friday following the impeachment show trial starring disgruntled fired ambassador Marie Yovanovitch.
Schiff has been selectively leaking, and releasing transcripts and portions of transcripts from depositions taken in his secret bunker — Schiff does this to control the narrative and to damage Trump as much as he possibly can.
Schiff has yet to release FOUR transcripts from officials whose testimonies destroyed Schiff’s Trump impeachment train.
The reason for this is so Republican lawmakers cannot use the damaging information in the transcripts to question the impeachment witnesses in Schiff’s public show trials.
“What they [the American people] also haven’t seen yet are FOUR transcripts of people who have already been deposed, which means under House rules we cannot use that testimony in these proceedings,” Jim Jordan told reporters on Friday.
“We would like to use parts of the testimony from Mr. Morrison as an example, in the open hearings but we’re prohibited under House rules from doing that,” he added.
Recall, Tim Morrison was actually on the July 25 Trump-Zelensky phone call and disputes Schiff’s lies.

“Three people were injured in the centre of the Belgian city of Kortrijk in an attack by a native of Ghana, local media reported on Saturday, citing law enforcement agencies.
According to the Nieuwsblad newspaper, the offender attacked bystanders with a stick.
“Two of those injured are in serious condition”, the public prosecutor of West Flanders Province said, as quoted by the newspaper.
The attacker was detained by the police, he is a native of Ghana living in Belgium legally. The victims also turned out to be ‘of foreign origin’, but their citizenship was not specified.
The attack is now being investigated. According to preliminary information, the attacker has a mental disorder.

The statement added that one of the officials was accused of receiving bribes, committing forgery, and exploiting his position to achieve personal gain. He was given a 12-year sentence and fined more than SR1 million.
Another official was convicted of receiving and possessing funds collected from bribery and engaging in trade despite being a public official.
Charges against the defendants included wasting public funds, unjust enrichment and selling government property.
According to the demands of the Public Prosecution, the judicial verdicts also affected some commercial entities, which were fined and deprived of signing any contracts with any public authority for a period specified by the pertinent penal regulations.”

“Grand Imam of Egypt’s Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayeb and the the head of the Catholic Church Pope Francis II reviewed the designs of the new interfaith complex, the Abrahamic Family House, during their meeting with members of the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity in the Vatican City on Friday.
The Abrahamic Family House, which is the first project supervised by the Human Fraternity committee, will be built in Saadiyat Island in the United Arab Emirates capital, Abu Dhabi, and is scheduled to be completed by 2022.
The complex will comprise a church, a mosque, and a synagogue, sharing a collective space.
Grand Imam El-Tayeb was in in Rome both to meet with Pope Francis II and to participate in the “Interfaith Summit on Promoting Child Dignity in the Digital World,” held on 14-15 November, at the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences.
The Abrahamic Family House should be a reflection of the values in the Document on Human Fraternity, and aims to promote inter-religious dialogue and the values of tolerance and coexistence among peoples of different religions, cultures and beliefs, according to Al-Azhar.
During their meeting with members of the Human Fraternity committee, Pope Francis and Sheikh El-Tayeb urged the committee members to turn the Document on Human Fraternity into tangible work on the ground.
Pope Francis told the committee that the Abrahamic Family House was a “genius idea” and an embodiment of the values of human fraternity.
The Document on Human Fraternity was launched in February 2019 in Abu Dhabi after it was signed by Pope Francis and Sheikh El-Tayeb.
The document is a joint declaration of “good and heartfelt aspirations” from the two religious leaders, and should serve as a “guide for future generations to advance a culture of mutual respect.”
The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity was formed to achieve the objectives of the document through executive measures and operational frameworks.
The latest member to join the committee is former director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Irina Bokova, 67, who was the first woman to serve as UNESCO director-general for two consecutive terms (2009-2017).”
