As Raad went back to Gävle Mosque, Swedish national broadcaster SVT ran a piece titled “Hug Party”, in which Raad was described as a “rock star”. The report sparked strong reactions and was later altered.
“This article may be among the most disgusting creations I’ve ever seen from public service. SVT calls an Islamist whom Säpo estimated to be a threat to the security of the kingdom a “rock star” and talks about about a “hug party”.
According to security expert Hans Brun, this is a dilemma between the security of citizens and the security of the to-be-expelled imams.
“Very many countries would say that their security is more important”, Brun told Expressen.
Eskilstuna Imam Abd al Haqq Kielan, who has long fought Islamic extremism, warned of an increased risk of radicalisation.
“They are coming back as martyrs”, he told the newspaper Aftonbladet. “In a way, you open the gates to other like-minded people. If you are going somewhere in Europe, Sweden appears to be a good alternative. The message is ‘the table is set’”, he added.
Sweden’s leading terror researcher Magnus Ranstorp of the National Defence College called to expel the imams, as previously ordered. According to him, their release will affect Sweden’s security for years to come. “Now their halos have been further refined in their environment”, Ranstorp said.
Liberal-conservative Moderate Party leader Ulf Kristersson called the development “a catastrophe” and blamed it on Stefan Löfven’s government.
The number of Muslims in Sweden has been estimated at 800,000, or 8 percent of the country’s population of about 10 million. A recent count by the Institute for Future Studies numbered 785 Islamic extremists in Sweden, which previously emerged as one of the biggest “jihadist exporters” per capita, providing around 300 “foreign fighters” to the Middle East.

Gunmen kill Mormon family members in north Mexico
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Gunmen have killed up to nine members of a U.S. Mormon family, believed to be mainly children, in the latest massacre to afflict Mexico, family members said.
The victims belonged to the LeBaron family from a breakaway Mormon community that settled in the hills and plains of northern Mexico decades ago.

It was unclear what motivated the killings, which took place on Monday on a dirt road between Chihuahua and Sonora states, both bordering the United States.

“This is for the record,” says a male voice in an American accent, off camera, choking up with emotion.

“A German migration expert claims that at least 35 per cent of the German population will have foreign backgrounds by the year 2040, rising to as much as 70 per cent in major cities.
The head of migrant research at the Federal Institute for Employment Research (IAB), Herbert Brücker, speaking to the German newspaper Die Welt said: “Currently, about a quarter of the people in Germany have a migrant background. In 20 years, it will be at least 35 per cent, but could also be more than 40 per cent.”
Brücker expects that the percentage will probably be much higher in German cities, saying in comments reported by DW: “What we see in the big cities today will be normal for the country as a whole in the future.”
“In a city like Frankfurt, we’ll have between 65 per cent to 70 per cent,” he added.

HONG KONG (Reuters) – The Chinese Communist Party said on Tuesday it would “perfect” the system for choosing the leader of Hong Kong after months of anti-government protests, as police in the ex-British colony fired water cannon to break up a Guy Fawkes-themed march.
The party said in a statement it would support its “special administrative region” of Hong Kong, which returned to China in 1997, and not tolerate any “separatist behavior” either there or in neighboring Macau, an ex-Portuguese colony that was handed back to Chinese rule two years later.
Some protesters in Hong Kong, angry at perceived Chinese meddling in its freedoms, have called for independence in sometimes violent unrest, a red line for Beijing. China denies interference.
As the party statement was released by Xinhua news agency, Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam said she had held a short meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Shanghai.

“Despite vows by both the United Kingdom and France to curb illegal crossings of the English Channel, a report has found that since the beginning of the year an average of five migrant-filled boats set sail towards England every week.
The BBC has reported the local government in Calais as saying that 237 migrant vessels have been intercepted in the English Channel since January. British authorities brought 138 to England, meaning that the French have stopped fewer than half of all migrant boats.
It is estimated that 1,460 migrants have reached the shores of Britain successfully, with another 1,105 being stopped by France. Another 11,952 migrants have been found, stowed away in lorries, at the Port of Calais, and 7,911 at the Eurotunnel terminal.
Dover and Deal MP Charlie Elphicke, speaking to the Daily Mail, compared the situation to the infamous Calais Jungle.
“Everyone knows the French haven’t been doing anywhere near enough to stop migrant boats coming across,” Mr Elphicke said.
“They embark from their coast, into their waters, so you would expect a great majority to be intercepted by their authorities. Sadly we saw a similar situation with the Calais Jungle,” he added.
“The French waited until the camp grew to over 10,000 until they finally took action, under increasing pressure from Calais residents and people like me. They should know they risk a return of it now unless they get a grip of this quickly.”

“Cyprus police have detained two Syrian men on suspicion of human trafficking following the arrival of a boat loaded with 131 Syrian migrants on the island nation’s northeastern coast.
Police said Tuesday that the two men were aboard another vessel that had shadowed the boat ferrying the migrants as it approached the Cypriot coastline on Monday.
Cypriot authorities had tracked the movements of the migrants’ boat by radar.
The men, ages 43 and 53, were arrested after a marine police patrol boat intercepted their vessel off the Akamas nature preserve.
Both men face charges including aiding and abetting the illegal entry of migrants in Cyprus and people trafficking by a sea route.

The Oyo State Police Command on Monday November 4, discovered a torture centre in Ibadan where 400 people were reportedly being detained.
The owner of the torture center at Oloore Mosque around Ojoo axis of the state has been arrested alongside his accomplices.
Oyo State Commissioner of Police Shina Olukolu who supervised the release of the victims, said a 17-year-old escapee reportedly told the police about the detention facility.
Olukolu said “the young man said they were being maltreated, they were not being well-fed, they were being treated like slaves and they were engaged in forced labour, and sometime their deaths were not reported to anybody.
“On the basis of that information, the police decided to check it out. We got to Owode, Apata. By the time we got there, they have evacuated that facility. But from the surroundings, we knew that there were people in that place earlier than the time we arrived.
“However, the young man informed the police that there is another detention facility and that is where we are now at Oloore, Ojoo area of Ibadan.
“Actually, when the police got here, we discovered that young men, young women are being kept in captivity in a dungeon-like situation. As a matter of fact, man’s inhumanity to man is being manifested in this environment. And we are not happy about the situation.
“So, we got across to the state government and state government officials are around. They are here with a view of ensuring that some of these young men, who are kept against their will, are liberated and allowed to be in a position where they can take care of themselves.

CBC – RCMP launches review of its social media monitoring operation
‘Not all Canadians know they’re under suspicion,’ says Citizen Lab
The RCMP has launched an internal review to make sure it’s obeying the law in the way it monitors Canadians’ social media accounts, according to documents obtained by CBC News.
The national police force says it keeps an eye on social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, among others) in two ways: reactively, after a crime has been committed, and proactively, to detect and prevent crimes.
During the recent election campaign, the RCMP even compiled daily threat reports on online expressions of hate targeting federal political leaders.
Now, the RCMP is auditing those techniques to make sure they agree with the law.
“How this information is handled and managed needs to be consistent across the country to ensure that court requirements are adhered to and that privacy concerns are met,” says a summary of the audit, obtained by CBC News through access to information.
“Police authority to use investigative techniques, such as access to social media accounts and phone records, while respecting privacy rights, is still being clarified.”
The audit will determine “if RCMP use of open-source access/information is consistent with applicable policy and legislation,” says the summary document.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Caroline Duval said the force uses open-source monitoring (which means watching something already publicly available online) during high-risk situations — standoffs involving active shooters, for example — and to locate missing people or identify emerging threats.
Duval said police even tracked down a direct death threat against a federally elected official in 2018 after keeping an eye on social media posts.
“The collection of open-source intelligence does not include private information, such as emails or private messages,” she said in an email to CBC News.
“Surveillance of any private communication requires judicial authorization.”
A push for clear guidelines
Privacy experts are calling for the imposition of clear controls on the RCMP’s online monitoring.
Christopher Parsons, a senior research associate at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, said there’s a mistaken belief out there that anything published online is fair game for the police.
“In Canada when you publish, say, on Twitter or a public Facebook message or something like that, you still actually retain an element of control and privacy over what’s stated,” he said.
“So before the government can go and download, access, read or analyze what you’ve put up, they have to have a direct and clear reason. And it can’t be something like, ‘What we want is to know what’s going on in Toronto. So we’re monitoring all communications in Toronto.’ That would be a disproportionate form of mass surveillance.”
Parsons said that kind of surveillance can get dangerous for individuals when police interpret snarky or humorous tweets as threats.
Back in 2012, a U.K. tourist was denied entry to the U.S. after tweeting that he was going to “destroy America” — which is slang for “party.”
“We assume that what we’ve put online is understood by the people who receive it, and there’s all sorts of situations of social media monitoring, especially cases out of the U.S., where people have had very, very severe and problematic … consequences for entirely banal, legitimate, innocent tweets,” Parsons said.
He said he wants to see the RCMP set some firm guidelines for social media monitoring.
“I think generally Canadians should be concerned, because not all Canadians know they’re under suspicion,” he said.
“Moreover, those who are in privileged groups within Canada, especially people of Caucasian descent, it’s really important for us to stand up and say, ‘No, there has to be a policy.’ You can’t do this just willy-nilly, because we know that there’s a huge population in Canada that does face inappropriate policing.”

Duval said the RCMP’s audit will look at how its social media sleuthing fits in with the Criminal Code, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Access to Information Act, the Privacy Act, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and the Code of Conduct of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
The RCMP use an off-the-shelf program called Social Studio to analyze social media. The operation is called Project Wide Awake, as was first reported by The Tyee, and it grew out of a deadly 2014 shooting in Moncton, N.B., that took the lives of three RCMP officers.
A subsequent review of the incident, known as the MacNeil Report, recommended the force use a real-time social media analysis tool to help identify operational risks and improve public communication.
The RCMP said it expects the audit to wrap up and be made public in summer 2020.

Fraud, corruption trial of ex-SNC executive told of links to Gadhafi’s son

Shortly after SNC-Lavalin secured a multimillion dollar contract in Libya in 2007, the son of former dictator Moammar Gadhafi invited a senior executive from SNC-Lavalin to a boat show in Cannes, France.
Riahd Ben Aissa told a Quebec Superior Court jury that he toured the boat show with the younger Gadhafi, who showed a keen interest in luxury yachts.
A short time after Ben Aissa returned to Libya, he received a call from a member of Gadhafi’s staff expressing an interest in a 150-foot yacht that would cost $25 million.
SNC-Lavalin signed a contract with an American firm to build the yacht from scratch, Ben Aissa testified.
A close working relationship with Saadi Gadhafi helped SNC-Lavalin obtain expensive engineering contracts in that country in the early 2000s.
Ben Aissa said he spoke to Saadi Gadhafi about a contract to supply 15,000 concrete pipes to a Libyan state company called the Great Man-Made River Authority.
“I told him it was a major contract and asked for all his support and attention to get this project,” former executive Riadh Ben Aissa testified.
“He made calls and we had meetings in his office in Tripoli.”
The comment was one of several examples in which SNC-Lavalin officials relied on the company’s close ties to the Gadhafi regime to obtain lucrative contracts in the North African country.
In another case, the younger Gadhafi said he would speak to his father to try to make sure SNC-Lavalin obtained a contract.
Ben Aissa was testifying on the third day of the fraud and corruption trial of former SNC-Lavalin executive vice-president Sami Bebawi.
Once SNC-Lavalin received the contract to install pipes in the desert, Bebawi told Ben Aissa they would need permission from Libyan authorities to install a satellite telephone system so foreign workers at the pipeline plant could stay in touch with their families.
“I count on you to take this to the top level of authority in the country,” Bebawi wrote in an email.
When prosecutor Anne-Marie Manoukian asked Ben Aissa what Bebawi had meant in the email, he said that his boss wanted him to get Saadi Gadhafi’s approval to install a satellite phone system.
Ben Aissa, who was arrested 2012 for his role in the dealings, is a main witness for the Crown.
The Crown alleges the firm’s relationship with Saadi Gadhafi led to it developing a new “business model” in Libya: a scheme that involved paying millions in kickbacks and bribes to ensure it kept receiving lucrative contracts. It intends on proving Bebawi, 73, oversaw the dealings and pocketed upward of $26 million through his role.
In testimony Monday morning, Ben Aissa told jurors that he kept his former boss, Bebawi, informed about all his dealings with Gadhafi, including the trip to the boat show in France.
When the firm began incurring losses on a state-led project in Libya, Ben Aissa was tasked with ensuring a claim it filed to recuperate its money was settled. He told jurors Bebawi pressured him to do whatever it took — and pay whoever was necessary — to settle the claim.
Fifty per cent of the claim, the jury heard, was transferred to a new company called Duval Securities Inc. that Ben Aissa registered in the British Virgin Islands. The money was then divided between those involved in getting the settlement done, including Gadhafi.
The Crown said it will prove during the trial that SNC-Lavalin eventually transferred more than $113 million to the new company.
Bebawi has pleaded not guilty to all the charges he faces.
The trial continues on Tuesday.

“A 20-year-old student in the Ixelles area of Brussels, Belgium has claimed that she was raped by a North African man who operates a fake taxi to prey on intoxicated women.
The 20-year-old claimed to have been a victim of the man on Saturday night. She reported to police that she had been raped after the man, who she described as being from North Africa, had posed as a taxi driver for the Collecto ride-sharing service, L’Avenir reports.
Denis Goeman, the spokesman for the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, commented on the case, saying: “We have ordered a number of investigative acts be carried out to identify and locate the suspect.”
The victim also posted her account to the Facebook page “ULB Confessions” on Sunday. She said: “I think he’s prowling around Jefke (Ixelles Cemetery) and he sees the drunk girls walking alone. He stops and pretends to be a Collecto taxi. He explains that he wants to take you anywhere. Except that he takes the girls away from Brussels, to a house, to rape them.”
Since posting her account, other victims have also come forward recounting similar experiences in the same area. However, the prosecutor’s office had said they had not received any other reports of rape.
In January, in a similar case, a London court convicted 28-year-old Mohammed Awais of rape. It sentenced him to nine years and four months after he posed as an Uber driver and picked up an intoxicated woman in October of last year.
Then in August a 26-year-old migrant was arrested in the French city of Bordeaux after also being accused of raping a woman while working for Uber’s food delivery service Uber Eats.
The illegal Bangladeshi migrant entered the home of his 22-year-old victim at 3:05 a.m. after she had taken a sleeping pill, forcing his way into the apartment and allegedly raping her before fleeing the area.”

“Another six so-called “grooming gang” rapists have been sentenced for waging a “campaign of rape” in the English town of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
“The way these girls were treated defies understanding, this abuse was vile and wicked,” remarked sentencing judge Geoffrey Marson QC of the victims, who were as young as twelve when the gang abused them, according to a report buried in the Leeds and West Yorkshire sub-section of the England sub-section of the BBC News website.
Judge Marson admonished five of the abusers, “principally Asian men”, for the fact that “None of you has expressed any remorse for what you did.”
He described how one of the rapists, a 32-year-old man who cannot be named for legal reasons, orally raped one of his victims at knifepoint and “laughed at her and called her a slag”, and then on another occasion drugged her with sleeping pills and raped her a minimum of ten times in a public park.
Another of his victims, a 12-year-old virgin, was “left… bleeding on the floor in the park” after being attacked, and “had to make her own way home, bleeding, to an empty flat before disposing of her clothes in a bin bag.”
“This was a campaign of rape,” Marson added.
However, despite being convicted of five counts of rape, the unnamed man was only given a 14-year term by the judge — only half or possibly two-thirds of which will actually have to be served in custody before he is automatically released on licence, assuming his sentence follows standard English legal conventions.
Another unnamed 32-year-old received a similar eight-year term for raping a teenager near a school, and an unnamed 38-year-old received a seven-year term for attempting to rape a girl behind a shop.
Two named gang members, 31-year-old Umar Zaman and 32-year-old Samuel Fikru, both of Huddersfield’s William Street, received eight-year terms after both being convicted of two counts of rape.
However, Zamam, who is reported to have string of previous convictions for crimes including violent offences, burglary, and drug dealing, will for the time being not be serving any time in custody at all — as he has gone on the run and it thought to be in hiding in Pakistan, where a large majority of grooming gang rapists have roots.
A sixth man, 36-year-old Banaris Hussain, was given a 10-year term for abuse police officers described as “depraved” at a separate sentencing hearing on October 4th.
Judge Marson had said at the first hearing that the abused girls “were young when the abuse started” and “targeted because of their extreme vulnerability”, predicting that it was “likely that many, if not all, of these girls will never recover from the abuse they suffered.”
At Hussain’s hearing the judge recapped how he had previously “addressed how the girls had been groomed by a number of Asian men in order for sexual abuse to be committed against them” and that Hussain had “shown not a shred of remorse” for his part in the gang’s crimes, raping his victim when she “was 14 or 15… when a number of others were present and also abusing her.”
Hussain, for his part, impudently told the judge that his sentene was ” a miscarriage of justice, I want you to know that” as he was taken from the dock at the end of the hearing.
It does not appear that contempt of court proceedings are being pursued against him.”

The report also notes that foreign gangs are responsible for the majority of thefts of other machinery including car parts, boat engines, and agricultural machines ,and that the stolen goods are often quickly shipped outside of Sweden, Sveriges Radio reports.
While the Swedish customs administration is particularly vigilant with inspecting vehicles coming into Sweden, the agency has been seen to be much more lax with vehicles exiting the country, spending just two per cent of their time looking at outgoing vehicles.
According to the radio broadcaster, Swedish law makes it so that it is not illegal to remove stolen items from the country, making it difficult, if not impossible, for the customs administration to detain and arrest those smuggling goods out of Sweden.
Foreign gangs are also said to be behind nearly half of all home burglaries as well, according to the NOA statistics.
The report comes only weeks after police in Stockholm warned about the growth of the brutal Nigerian mafia known as the Black Ax in the Swedish capital.

“German far-left Antifa extremists broke into the apartment of a real estate company employee and viciously beat her in an ongoing war against a luxury apartment development in Leipzig.
The attack saw two far-left extremists invade the apartment of the 34-year-old real estate worker at around 7 p.m. on Sunday and hit her in the face with their fists several times, according to police spokesman Andreas Loepki, German tabloid Bild reports.
After the attack, Loepki said that the Antifa extremists told the woman: “Goodbye, ‘Greetings from Connewitz.’”
The Connewitz area of Leipzig has long been associated with Antifa, as the group even boasts its own Facebook page.
The Antifa group has been at war over the development of several construction sites across Leipzig this year, setting two cranes on fire on October 3rd at a site run by the same company the 34-year-old female victim works for and causing an estimated ten million euros in damages.
According to police spokesman Loepki, the home invasion and assault is an entirely new tactic from the far-left extremists.
“There were already comparable home visits from the left spectrum. But they have always been against right-wing extremists,” he said.
Leipzig Lord Mayor Burkhard Jung, a member of the left-wing Social Democrats (SPD), also condemned the violence saying: “A line has been crossed: the militant left scene does not even shy away from attacks on defenceless women.”
“The line spread by the extreme left-wing scene, that they are violent only against things and state institutions, but not against people, is exposed for what it always was: a lie,” he added.
“The rule of law must be applied consistently. We have to be careful that in the current debate about right-wing terrorism, we do not lose sight of left-wing extremism and its contempt for humanity, which is not inferior to that of the right-wing,” he said, warning that political murders by the left could be on the horizon.
The extremists involved in the attack took credit on the far-left publishing platform Indymedia, saying they “decided to meet those responsible for building a problematic project in the south of Leipzig where it really hurts: in their face”.
Indymedia has been used time and time again by Antifa extremists in Germany to take credit for acts of violence and sabotage including the attempted assassination of populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) MP Frank Magnitz earlier this year in Bremen.
Antifa extremists also published an “assassination guide” on the platform in February with tips on how to kill AfD politicians and other political enemies.
Following the over 2,000 crimes, including the assault of hundreds of police officers, by black bloc Antifa extremists at the Hamburg G20 in 2017, the German government shut down the notorious “Linksunten” site hosted on Indymedia.
The site was well-known as a place not only for extremists to brag about attacks, but also to give each other advice on how to sabotage infrastructure and build weapons, including explosives.”

Ashley Auzenne, a 39-year-old gun control advocate from Deer Park, TX, committed a heinous triple-murder suicide earlier this week where she shot her three children dead before taking her life.
Investigators made the determination on Friday after observing the gruesome scene. Auzenne’s three children, Parrish, 11, Eleanor, 9, and Lincoln, 7, were shot dead by the woman. The police found the bodies after a family member became concerned and asked them to perform a wellness check on the family.
“There is a gun inside the house was used in this incident,” said Lt. Chris Brown, of the Deer Park Police Department. “A handgun.”

SKY News – Iranian ambassador to the UK talks about uranium enrichment
Iran is to start injecting uranium gas into more than 1,044 centrifuges as it moves away from a landmark nuclear deal agreed in 2015.
The country’s president, Hassan Rouhani, said it would take place at its underground Fordow centre as “part of our fourth step to reduce our nuclear commitments to the deal.”
Uranium gas injection can allow enriched uranium to be produced – currently banned at the site under the pact.
