Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • That was my first question many years ago after he was elected in 2008.
No good friends, no acquaintances, except for one photo with a Mid-Eastern guy – maybe a Paki – in college.

      Who is Michelle Obama?

    • The Obama Birth Certificate. ‘Wasn’t born in America…’ when really, at the time, the qualification of Natural Born Citizen was intended that the soil and culture would produce a sane, balanced, loyal and freedom-loving individual.

      Not any more.

“In the U.S., about 40% of children born in 2016 had unmarried parents. This is more than twice as high as the rate in 1980 and ten points higher than it was in the 90s. While the US numbers are high, they are far from in the lead. In 2016, 60% of babies born in France were to unmarried couples. France rose even higher than Sweden, the country which previously had the highest rate, in 2010.”

All these countries are being taken over by the fake-males of islam with the rage of the female channeled through them as though it were their own. The brotherhood in the LGBTQ+ Spectrum.

Where someone is born, is becoming more irrelevant when the disgusting trough of how they were raised, is fundamental to knowing their character. Because theirs are the Patterns of Nature, seered. Where their body leads the mind.

Jesus learned from John The Baptist that repentence started his journey, and then for him to find the truth in fasting and stillness and released the vice. The forgiveness of unfairness renders the bully powerless.

Every time. Forgive. You lead your own life. To be one of the seduced willing-slaves, no more.

“One of my pastors, Dr. Ted Estes of Lifechanger Church in Claremore, Oklahoma often speaks of the higher standard that preachers and teachers of God’s Word will be held to come Judgment Day. People like jackson, sharpton, and this fool Barber will one day answer for their perversion of God’s Word, a perversion designed mostly to line their pockets with the money of people they deceive and tax funds they are rewarded with for pushing the liberal/socialist agenda.”

Judgement Day. The Holy Day of Fairness that will never come. Such bitter passive-aggression. This energy that deceivers thrive on, because it focuses attention away from them. Chasing a Birth Certificate that they can move around, to appear and disappear, with the wave of a hand. Fighting shadows. The wrong fight. Do not resist evil.

These slaves of soul, mind and body – giving up themselves up in the nursery in return for Heaven, Earth and Objectification identities – are increasingly imprinted by terror. No fathers. No children. Just wearing tattoos.

  1. Everytime PTrump says We beat ISIS!, I cringe. It’s simply untrue. Not only are there cells within “liberated” territory, there are incubators of terror within the camps guarded by our allies, the SDF.

The countries from which these monsters came must take responsibility for their citizens. Including reparations to the native victims. Justice will be done one way or another. Nuremburg or the Lord of Hosts.

Waiting for Return of the Caliphate Among ISIS Enforcers in Syria’s al Hol, Ain Issa and Roj Camps

ROJAVA, Syria — “When the Islamic State comes back, I will put your head on one of these poles,” an ISIS wife shouted at her female Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) detention facility guard, indicating that the guard will be beheaded. Her ISIS comrade’s attitude toward the guard was equally threatening: “No, that’s too good for her. We have to sell her as a sex slave.”

It is a full year since President Trump, the Iraqi Prime Minister and coalition forces declared ISIS’ territorial defeat, yet this female SDF commander, head of security at the Ain Issa Camp we are visiting in late August, describes a small gang of ISIS women still operating in the camp.

Nine of these ISIS women attacked her while conducting a routine check in the camp, grabbing hold of her hair and beating her until other SDF guards came to her rescue. While they beat her, they shouted, “What your women (YPJ soldiers) did in al Bab, we will do the same. We are not less than them.”

These ISIS women are afraid of no one. They fully expect the ISIS “Caliphate” to return. They openly share how they intend to take revenge on the SDF detention facility guards upon ISIS’ return.…

    • The only rights these scum deserve are funereal ones and even that is debatable as refusal to use the pork weapon is insane. IMO Pershing had it right and that should be the WTG. I would have no hesitation here but then I am motivated by experience, nor naïve ethics issues that allow blatant subhumans “human rights”

      • We will end up using the Pork tactic but not until there are a lot more attacks in our homlands.

  2. POLITICAL CORRECTNESS to the MAXIMUM – Vancouver Sun deletes an honest opinion piece.

“This morning, the Province newspaper website is still carrying a widely condemned opinion piece that’s been scrubbed from the Vancouver Sun website.”

“The jury is out,” he writes. “But the minimum requirement is that we say goodbye to diversity, tolerance and inclusion if we wish to be a society that can rebuild the trust we used to have in one another and start accepting a new norm for immigration policy—compatibility, cohesion and social trust.”

  3. Chinese State Media Claim German Officials Endorse Muslim Concentration Camps (breitbart, Sep 7, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2019/09/07/chinese-state-media-claim-german-officials-endorse-muslim-concentration-camps/

“China’s state-run media on Friday claimed that Germany this week expressed support for Beijing’s anti-Muslim tactics in Xinjiang.

The claim, made by China’s state-run Xinhua news outlet, came as German Chancellor Angela Merkel landed in Beijing on Friday.

Merkel traveled to Beijing amid calls for her to take a tougher stance on China’s human rights record.

The U.S. and the United Nations assert that China has forced at least one million Uighurs and other Islam adherent minorities into concentration camps in Uighur Muslim-majority Xinjiang. China insists that the camps are “educational and vocational training centers” aimed at combating terrorism and religious extremism.

A Chinese delegation from Xinjiang concluded a four-day visit to Germany on Thursday, ahead of Merkel’s visit to Beijing, Xinhua reported. The delegation met with officials from the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior in Munich on Monday.

During the meeting, the German officials said that combating terrorism and radicalization through educational and vocational programs “are solid practices,” Xinhua reported, noting:

The German side said security is the precondition for economic growth and the development of tourism, and that combatting terrorism at its roots and eliminating radicalization through education and vocational training programs are solid practices.

The Xinhua report made it appear that the German officials accepted that China’s Muslim concentration camps are, indeed, “education and vocational training programs,” despite eyewitness testimony from survivors that Chinese officials perpetrate torture, indoctrination, and slavery in the “centers.”

Germany is facing the challenge of balancing human rights concerns and economic discussions with China, one of the European nation’s largest trading partners.

Berlin has spoken against the mistreatment of Muslims in Xinjiang. The European economic powerhouse joined the United States in blasting China over the internment of Muslims in Xinjiang during a closed-door United Nations Security Council meeting in July, Reuters reported.

On Friday, however, Deutsche Welle (DW) pointed out:

The German foreign minister has also been critical of China’s actions in the western province of Xinjiang … but discussions with Chinese authorities about human rights abuses are becoming more difficult and infrequent.

According to the United States, China is subjecting Muslim detainees to various human rights abuses, including torture and communist indoctrination. The so-called re-education or mind transformation camps are designed to eradicate prisoners’ religious and ethnic identities and replace them with loyalty to the inherently atheist Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

China claims that the facilities are voluntary vocational and training centers designed to combat religious extremism, terrorism, and separatism.

Arguing that it has eliminated major terrorist attacks over the last three years, Beijing has urged the international community to adopt its anti-Muslim tactics in Xinjiang.

    Xinhua reported Friday:

The [Chinese] delegation also hopes to exchange experience with the German side on deradicalization and how to resist international terrorist forces.

Harald Pickert, [the] inspector with the Bavarian police, said at the meeting that terrorism is the common challenge facing both Germany and China.

Although no terrorist attacks have taken place recently in Germany, counter-terrorism work cannot become lax, he added.

The Chinese delegations also discussed Beijing’s tactics in Xinjiang with the German Foreign Ministry in Berlin on Wednesday.

On Friday, U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper cautioned European allies against cozying up to communist China. He argued that Beijing is seeking to expand its global influence by leveraging economic power and pilfering technology.

“I would caution my friends in Europe – this is not a problem in some distant land that does not affect you,” he said in London.

The Muslim world has been mostly silent on China’s crackdown against Islam adherents within its borders. Several Muslim-majority countries, including China’s “all-weather ally” Pakistan, have even come out in support of Beijing’s’ oppressive tactics in Xinjiang. Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has lambasted India over its activities in New Delhi-administered Kashmir.

Khan has condemned New Delhi for revoking Indian Kashmir’s autonomy, claiming the move will lead to “genocide.”

In a series of strongly-worded tweets this week Khan said:

India’s violation of all international laws including humanitarian laws is there for the world to see. So why is the world silent? Is the international community’s humanity dead when Muslims are being persecuted?

Ironically, China has also accused India of trying to carry out “ethnic cleansing” in Kashmir.

Nuclear-armed China, Pakistan, and their mutual rival India all have competing claims to territories within the Himalayan region of Kashmir.

China considers its Kashmir territories — Aksai Chin in the Indian controlled part and the Shaksgam Valley in the Pakistani portion — to be part of Xinjiang.”

  4. Sweden: No-Go Areas Hire Security Guards to Make up for Lack of Police (breitbart, Sep 8, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/09/08/sweden-no-go-zones-hire-security-guards-make-up-lack-police/

“Due to a lack of police officers, several no-go “vulnerable areas” in Sweden have been forced to hire security guards in an effort to combat crime and violence.

The municipality of Söderhamn is one of the areas forced to pay for security guards as there are currently no municipal police available to patrol the city centre with the local government diverting funds to pay for the guards, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.

In the northern suburbs of Stockholm, where some of the most notorious no-go areas such as Rinkeby, Tensta, Husby, and Järva are located, around 70 million Swedish Kronor ($7,272,300/£5,915,700) has been invested in hiring security guards.

“They could support the police and help curb drug trafficking. If we overcome drug trafficking and the use of drugs in Järva, it would reduce the number of shootings in the area,” local Christian Democrat politician Erik Slottner said.

Nearly a year ago, the local government applied to police to make parts of Järva a “LOV 3” area which allows security guards to coordinate with police officers.

Earlier this week, the application was approved. However, local imam Hussein Farah Warsame said the policy would not solve the problems in Rinkeby, saying that Stockholm should do more to invest in schools and preventative measures instead.

While no new police have arrived in Järva, money has been spent on other projects such as improving lighting in some areas and setting up a speaker to play a loud sound outside of preschools to annoy drug dealers who operate in the vicinity.

In 2017, the local government in Husby attempted to hire security guards to patrol the centre of the town but were unable to find a security firm that wanted to take on the contract.

The money spent on security initiatives comes in addition to the 2.2 billion Kronor (£187.3 million) spent by the Swedish national government on combatting “segregation” in vulnerable areas across the country.”

    • The first joint land patrol launched by Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and US Armed Forces in the context of the first phase of safe zone facility in the east of Euphrates in Syria was completed.

The first patrol carried out by the TAF and the US convoy for the establishment of the safe zone in Syria consisted of two stages: organization and operations. TSK convoy consisting of 6 armored vehicles with Turkish flags in the south of Akçakale district of Sanliurfa met the US military convoy waiting on the Syrian side by crossing the border to join the joint land patrol.

Coming together at the zero point of the border, the commanders of the Turkish Armed Forces and the US convoy discussed the patrol plan to be held here for a while. The military convoy then headed to Telabyad, about 25 kilometers west. The joint convoy, which was observing for a while in this direction, then moved to the inner parts towards the south. The patrol started around 10:00 am and ended after about 3 hours.

In the meantime approached the border with Turkey Armed Forces convoy, domestic production of ATAK helicopters, flight were welcomed by Turkish troops in the region.

UAV and helicopter support also provided patrol activities during the border line air and land mobility continued.

Patrol activity started in the morning and was completed in about 3 hours.

    • reuterrs –Turkish military enters Syria to begin joint U.S. ‘safe zone’ patrol

(Reuters) – Armed Turkish military vehicles crossed into war-stricken Syria on Sunday to begin joint patrols with U.S. counterparts to establish a high-stakes “safe zone” along a border region controlled by Kurdish forces.

Vehicles with Turkish flags joined those in Syria with U.S. flags some 15 kilometers (nine miles) east of the Turkish border town of Akcakale, near Syria’s Tel Abyad.

With two military helicopters briefly overhead, they headed south for several hours before returning to Turkey.

The land patrol, which Damascus condemned, marks the latest sign of cooperation between the NATO allies east of the Euphrates even while thorny questions remain over the size and oversight of the safe zone.

Turkey aims to send some of the 3.6 million Syrian refugees it hosts to the zone.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan is also anxious to show progress pushing back from its borders Kurdish YPG forces, U.S. allies that Ankara has labelled terrorists because it says they have links to Kurdish militants in Turkey.

The patrols would continue in coming days “without any delay for the withdrawal of terrorists and the return of Syrian people,” Turkey’s Defence Ministry said according to state-owned Anadolu agency.

Turkish officers accompanied by U.S. troops documented some of the YPG fortifications that had been demolished as part of an agreement that Ankara and Washington hashed out in recent months, a Reuters witness said.

Arab tribes mainly inhabit the proposed safe zone region controlled by the YPG forces. On Sunday, witnesses said residents in some of the villages emerged to greet and wave at Turkish troops on the joint patrol.

After intensive negotiations, Turkey and the United States have also set up a joint operation centre but have so far disagreed over how deep the zone would extend into Syria and over the command structure of the forces to operate there.

      EIGHT-YEAR WAR

Turkey and the United States have conducted multiple joint helicopter patrols over the area. After eight years of war south of its border, Turkey hopes to resettle 1 million refugees in northern Syria.

Turkey is also involved in Syria’s northwest Idlib region where its troops and observation posts have come under pressure as Russian-backed Syrian government forces have pushed north in recent months. An escalation of conflict in recent weeks has strained Ankara’s ties with Moscow.

With U.S. backing over the last four years, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) alliance that the YPG spearheads has taken control of much of northeastern Syria from Islamic State militants.

The SDF said the joint patrols are “part of a road map to attain stability in a way that contributes (its) efforts to pursue (Islamic State) and uproot them.”

The Syrian government on Sunday condemned the joint U.S.-Turkish patrols saying it was a “flagrant violation” of its sovereignty and “territorial integrity”.

Damascus has accused the Kurdish YPG of working towards separatism, a charge which the YPG denies.

Many of the inhabitants of the predominately Arab area that is expected to comprise the safe zone – including Tel Abyad, Ras al Ain and several Arab villages – had fled to Turkey fearing reprisals by the YPG on charges they had links to Islamic State.

Tribal leaders and rights groups accuse the ruling Kurdish militia of preventing many Arabs from returning to their former homes which they say in some cases have been confiscated and demolished, a charge the Kurdish YPG vehemently denies.

Kurdish leaders say they have long been victims of Arab discrimination.

Sheikh Mudar al Assad, a tribal figure from the region who lives in exile in Turkey, said he expected tens of thousands of displaced Arabs to return back to their homes once the safe zone was established.

“The mere presence of Turkish troops in this area has raised hopes of the return of many who have been exiled ,” al Assad said.

Damascus slams US-Turkish patrols in Syria as ‘act of aggression’

Damascus said it strongly opposes joint patrols in northeast Syria by the United States and Turkey, calling it a flagrant “aggression” that seeks to prolong the country’s eight-year conflict.

The Syrian government also reiterated its “absolute rejection” of a planned safe zone in the area, calling it a violation of Syria’s territorial unity.

“The Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the joint patrols conducted by the United States and the Turkish regime,” said state news agency SANA, citing a foreign ministry source on Sunday.

The source described the patrols as an “aggression” that “aims to complicate and prolong the crisis in Syria,” SANA added.

The comments came after the United States and Turkey on Sunday began joint patrols in northeastern Syria aimed at easing tensions between Ankara and US-backed Kurdish forces.

Six Turkish armoured vehicles crossed the border to join US troops in Syria for their first joint patrol under a deal reached between Washington and Ankara, an AFP journalist reported.

Two helicopters overflew the area as the Turkish vehicles drove through an opening in the concrete wall erected between the two countries.

The agreement reached on August 7 aims to establish a “safe zone” between the Turkish border and the Syrian areas east of the Euphrates river controlled by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units militia.

The YPG is an ally of the US but seen as a terrorist organisation by Turkey.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened to launch an operation against the YPG in Syria unless progress is made on setting up the safe zone.

“We do not have too much time or patience regarding the safe zone. Within a few weeks if our soldiers do not start to actually control this area, there will be no other option left but to implement our own operation plans,” Erdogan said during a speech in Istanbul.

Erdogan said his US counterpart Donald Trump had promised it would be 32 kilometres (20 miles) wide.

A joint centre of operations was recently established as part of the agreement.

Since last year, Erdogan has repeatedly threatened to launch an assault east of the Euphrates river against the YPG, which fought against the Islamic State (IS) group.

Turkey previously conducted cross-border operations in northern Syria supporting Syrian rebels in 2016 against IS and in early 2018 against the YPG.

Ankara says the YPG militia is a “terrorist” offshoot of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party.

The PKK, which has waged an insurgency against the Turkish state since 1984, is blacklisted as a terrorist group by Ankara, the US and the European Union.

      Border protests

Meanwhile, hundreds of Syrians held anti-regime protests on Friday in rebel-held Idlib province where a fragile ceasefire has paused a deadly months-old offensive.

Some demonstrators gathered near the Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Turkey, where Turkish border guards last week fired warning shots and tear gas to disperse Syrian protesters.

They waved the three-star flag of the eight-year-old uprising and chanted against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, while some called on rebel backer Turkey to open its borders.

“We only want the Turkish government to open its borders for our brothers who live under the olive trees,” protester Abu Haytham told AFP, referring to displaced Syrians living in the open air.

The demonstrations came after Damascus’s ally Russia announced a ceasefire for the northwestern Idlib region last Friday.

Airstrikes have stopped since the agreement went into effect last Saturday morning, but sporadic artillery fire has continued.

Russia-backed regime forces have been pressing an offensive against Idlib since the end of April.

More than 960 civilians have been killed in four months of heavy bombardment, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The United Nations says more than 400,000 people have been displaced.

Syria’s conflict has killed more than 370,000 people and driven millions from their homes since it started with the brutal repression of anti-government protests in 2011.

  5. Iran Uses ‘Secretive’ Fleet of Tankers to Deliver Oil in the Face of US Sanctions – Report (sputniknews, Sep 8, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/business/201909081076750970-iran-tankers-us-sanctions/

“Earlier, Iranian Minister of Oil Bijan Namdar Zanganeh underscored that Tehran is working “day and night” to find ways to export its crude amid US efforts to bring the Islamic Republic’s oil exports to zero.

With the US anti-Iran sanctions still in place, Tehran is using numerous tactics which help Iranian tankers deliver oil to its trading partners, Bloomberg reported, citing experts.

They claimed that many such vessels have “gone dark”, switching off transponders to avoid detection.

Devin Geoghegan, global director of petroleum intelligence at Genscape Inc. in Denver, Colorado, argued that “Iran is a black box, but it’s also not a black box” because there are some ways to detect Tehran’s secretive activity.

“Iran is simply doing a better job of putting their oil into other people’s hands – or their own storage tin-cans – than anybody has expected,” Geoghegan claimed.

Daniel Gerber, chief executive officer of Geneva-based tanker-tracking firm Petro-Logistics SA, insisted that “Iran is as secretive now as any time over the past 40 years”.

Samah Ahmed of the Paris-based think tank Kpler, for his part, told Bloomberg that Iran is resorting to a range of techniques, including “several ship-to-ship transfers off-radar,” in order to transport oil in the face of the US sanctions.

In this context, Kpler expert Homayoun Falakshahi, in turn, insisted that “the [US] goal of bringing Iran’s exports down to zero was never attained”.

At the same time, he claimed that “the Trump administration has been obviously very successful in bringing maximum pressure” on the Islamic Republic.

Bloomberg quoted Kpler as saying that despite the US sanctions, Iran has succeeded in maintaining “limited flows to China, its biggest customer, and some to Turkey and Syria”.

Iran Calls on China and Other Allies to Buy More Oil
The remarks come after Iranian Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri expressed hope that its leading economic partner China and other Iranian allies will “be more active in buying Iranian oil”.

The statement came as Iranian Minister of Oil Bijan Namdar Zanganeh touted Tehran’s incessant efforts to find ways to export its crude in the face of US sanctions.

In a separate development, Reuters cited research from three firms tracking tanker movement as saying that China continued imports of Iranian crude oil in July, two months after the expiry of US sanctions waivers.

According to the data, tankers unloaded between 4.4 million and 11 million barrels of crude oil in China in July, with some of the oil believed to have gone to China’s strategic oil reserves.

US Slaps Economic Sanctions on Iran
The developments come against the backdrop of aggravating US-Iranian ties, which hit a new low after US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew his country from the 2015 Iran deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in May 2018.

Washington subsequently subject almost all major economic sectors of Iran to sanctions, vowing to drive all Iranian oil exports to zero and demanding that other countries stop buying it from Iran. The White House also announced the decision not to reissue waivers on Iranian oil after their expiry.”

  7. Taliban Predicts Losses of American Lives, Vows US ‘Will Suffer More Than Anyone Else’ as Trump Cancels Secret Talks (sputniknews, Sep 8, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/asia/201909081076752541-taliban-vows-us-will-suffer-more-than-anyone-else-as-trump-cancels-secret-talks/

“Earlier, US President Donald Trump lashed out at the group, confirming that he had cancelled planned secret meetings involving Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Taliban leaders after the militants claimed responsibility for a recent deadly bombing attack in the Afghan capital.

The Taliban slammed the United States on Sunday, releasing a statement warning that Americans would “suffer” for cancelling planned inter-Afghan peace talks.

“The Americans will suffer more than anyone else for cancelling the talks,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said, his comments cited by Reuters.

The spokesman warned the talks’ cancellation would lead to ‘further losses of US lives’ and other assets, and said the US would be forced to return to negotiations sooner or later. In the meantime, the Taliban promised to continue their war until foreign powers carry out a complete withdrawal from Afghanistan.

According to Mujahid, talks had been proceeding smoothly until Saturday, with the government and the militants agreeing to formal intra-Afghan peace talks on September 23.

On Saturday, President Donald Trump revealed that he planned to meet with Afghanistan’s president and, separately, with senior Taliban leaders in Camp David to discuss the prospects for peace.

However, Trump cancelled the meetings at the last minute, saying he made the decision after the Taliban claimed responsibility for a terror attack in Kabul on Thursday which killed twelve people, including a US soldier. Trump accused the Taliban of attempting to “build false leverage” to “strengthen their bargaining position,” and said that “if they cannot agree to a ceasefire during these very important peace talks, and would even kill 12 innocent people, then they probably don’t have the power to negotiate a meaningful agreement anyway.”

Later, US media reported that Trump had previously spoken to National Security Advisor John Bolton about the peace talks, with Bolton reportedly reminding him of the deal’s “potential pitfalls,” and the alleged ‘vague’ terms being offered by the Taliban.

A US-led coalition of countries has been waging a war in Afghanistan since 2001, with the US and its NATO allies invading the country after the Taliban refused to hand over Osama bin Laden and other senior al-Qaeda* leaders following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Bin Laden was later killed in a compound in neighbouring Pakistan.

The war in Afghanistan has led to the deaths of over 2,400 US servicemen and women, with over 1,100 coalition troops and over 62,000 Afghan security forces personnel also killed. Tens of thousands of Taliban fighters and thousands of Afghan civilians have also been died, the latter as a result of terror attacks, coalition airstrikes gone awry and crossfire.

The Trump administration has attempted to negotiate a peace deal with the Taliban, reportedly offering the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan in exchange for a guarantee from the Taliban that it would cut any ties with terrorist organisations, and prevent the Central Asian country from becoming a safe haven for terrorists.

Ahead of the secret planned talks, Taliban had stepped up its terror bombing attacks in Kabul.

  8. The parallel reality of Chinese propaganda
The events in Hong Kong are a unique opportunity to learn about Chinese propaganda.
The protests in the Fragrant Port that have been ongoing since June are casting deeper and deeper shadow on China’s arduously, for years, built image – a peacefully growing power that has never waged offensive wars (not true, but really, who knows the history of Asia in the West) and which, like a cute panda, is growing and grows fat in harmony with the world. The ongoing trade war with the US and the associated wave of media information showing China in a negative light made the authorities in Beijing aware of the need to get their message to national and international audiences. In Hong Kong, propaganda and media activities have already started in full swing.
There are no problems with the domestic propaganda – all the media in the Middle Kingdom publish and show only what the authorities allow, so the transmitted vision of the world is coherent and consistent. China is the greatest country in the world, the rulers love the people and think day and night only about its happiness, the economy is doing great, and the diabolical United States are upset because they can’t get over growing competition. When the unrest in Hong Kong began, the Chinese media were restrained at first – not much was shown, dry commentary about some parades, nothing important happened. However, with the passage of time and the growing protests, the information got more precise. Damage after protests, injured police officers or insulted PRC state symbols were eagerly shown. The messages full of pathos and patriotic-nationalist talks from the beginning caused Chinese from the continent not to sympathize with the protesters. Chinese indifference turned into resentment, hostility and resentment. In their eyes, Hong Kongers are disgruntled children success has turned their head- they have so much, and they want more and more. It cannot be denied that compared to the PRC citizens, Hong Kong residents have more rights and privileges – they can protest on the streets, enjoy freedom of speech, and criticizing the authorities does not automatically end in prison. Hence the popularity of theories about foreign inspiration of protests, the Hong Kong people were simply deceived and manipulated – who in their right mind would dare an open rebellion against China ?!
One doesn’t change the winning horse. Since propaganda well function in China, we will do the same abroad. And so, in front of the astonished foreigners, scenes from parallel reality began to appear, visions saturated with alternative truth. The English-speaking and foreign-language. Chinese media in English and other languages is like a time machine carrying you free of charge into the atmosphere of a bygone era with its dichotomy of good and evil, a strong language without hesitation or a false gild of neutrality. According to the Polish edition of China Radio International, these three months of protests are only “the actions of several criminals aimed at destroying Hong Kong, a signal that they are ready to work for external anti-Chinese forces.” As the anti-Chinese demonstration swept through the former British colony, the Chinese press crowed with delight about the hundreds, thousands of supporters of China who went out to demonstrate the love of the Great Mother. When one of the protesters lost their eye after a police’s gunshot, in China they said it was another protester had hurt her and that the woman had previously taken money from a masked person, so this is all a fake.
For huge amounts of money, Chinese media buy ads and inserts for foreign, prestigious magazines – a few days ago The Washington Posts served its readers such a “gift”. The headline of the eight-page “ChinaWatch” warned “The content of this advertising insert was prepared by” China Daily “and did not include materials or opinions of employees of” The Washington Post “.” Quite a cowardly disclaimer, for a newspaper that, since 2017, has been promoting the slogan “Democracy dies in darkness” ………
In addition to the official message, which does not even pretend to be objective, for example Xinhua deigned to call the demonstrators “cockroaches”, China also uses other methods to reach readers. Last month, Twitter announced that it had closed over 200,000 accounts that had links to China and disseminated deceptive and offensive content about Hong Kong protests Twitter also announced that he would stop distributing advertising tweets from state companies and organizations. Let’s just remind you that in China this website, like Facebook or YouTube are blocked, and using them requires breaking Chinese law and illegal bypassing of blockades using VPN. According to the report of Australian Strategic Policy Institute published at the beginning of September, many of these accounts have promoted the official position of the Chinese authorities since 2017. The campaign against Hong Kong began as early as in April, when people started talking about the new extradition law and focused on three main slogans: condemnation of protests, support for police and emphasizing foreign incitement. Some of the accounts were obviously bought by Chinese authorities and “changed” because before the Hongkong protests they have quite different content – – K-pop, football or even porn.
Propaganda, in order to be effective, must move the emotions of the recipients. Persons responsible for a message addressed to foreign recipients or do not understand these emotions or create a message for internal use and for their superiors. The most drastic example of a complete lack of sensitivity and understanding is the use of Martin Niemöller’s poem “When They Came …” to equate the activities of demonstrators with the Holocaust.
With such media news professionals, China has small chance of convincing the world of its right for a long time.

  9. Child rapist Haji Kaloga told to expect long jail term

    https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/17880532.child-rapist-haji-kaloga-told-expect-long-jail-term/

A MAN is behind bars awaiting a long prison sentence for raping and sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl.
Haji Kaloga, 31, pleaded guilty to the offence and to assault by penetration of the same child at Bradford Crown Court today.
Kaloga, of Curzon Road, Barkerend, Bradford, was warned by Recorder Andrew Haslam QC to expect a lengthy jail sentence.
Kaloga, a Gambian national, admitted the offences on the day he was to stand trial.
When the indictment was put to him, he pleaded guilty to two sexual offences against the same girl, aged 11, both taking place on March 11 this year.
Kaloga’s barrister, Kitty Colley, did not ask for a probation report.
He will be “an offender of particular concern” who cannot be released from prison until the Parole Board deems it safe to do so.
The case was adjourned until Friday, September 13, at the request of prosecutor Christine Egerton so that a victim personal statement can be obtained from the girl.
Recorder Haslam told Kaloga, who was assisted by an interpreter: “The offences to which you have pleaded guilty are very serious ones and the prosecution wants to obtain from the complainant a victim personal statement detailing the effects upon her of your offending towards her, and that is a right she has which this court will take into account when passing sentence upon you.
“You know, Mr Kaloga, as I am sure you have been told by Miss Colley, that there is only one sentence open to the court, namely one of custody, and of some length.”
Kaloga was ordered to sign on the sex offender register with immediate effect.
He was already in custody and he will stay behind bars until the sentencing hearing.

  10. Man jailed for two violent street robberies – one involving an axe
    https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/17884146.man-jailed-two-violent-street-robberies—one-involving-axe/

A CRACK cocaine addict who committed two violent street robberies in two days has been jailed for six and a half years.
Qasim Hussain confronted his first victim with a raised axe on Toller Lane, Bradford, after dark on February 23.
Hussain, 24, of Queens Road, Bradford, struck again the next day, locking a disabled man in his car, stealing his money and bank card and threatening to take him on to the moors and stab him.
Prosecutor Alisha Kaye told Bradford Crown Court today that Hussain spun his first victim, aged 40, round by the shoulder as he was walking home for tea wearing headphones.
Hussain raised an axe above his head and demanded: “I want your wallet.”
When the man said he had no money with him, Hussain shouted: “I’m not a dickhead, I’m on the run.”
He then seized the man’s phone from his pocket and made off.
The following morning, the police saw Hussain at the wheel of a distinctive lime green Ford Fiesta speeding on Lumb Lane in Bradford.
He jumped a red light and accelerated along Canal Road with the police pursuing him in a marked patrol vehicle.
Hussain raised his middle finger at the officers chasing after him, Miss Kaye said.
After a pursuit along “numerous streets” the police lost sight of Hussain.
He drove to The Sun Hotel in Kirkgate, Shipley, where he spotted a 58-year-old man, who had been left with serious mobility problems after an accident, who was standing outside.
Hussain offered to sell him some tobacco and told him to get into the Fiesta while they did the deal.
Hussain locked the man in the car and sped off, hitting him on the head as he jumped a red light at Fox Corner on to Otley Road.
He pulled on to a car a park and demanded: “Give me your wallet. I’ve got a knife.”
Although the man did not see a weapon, he handed Hussain his wallet and he took out £90 in cash and his bank card.
When the victim gave Hussain a false PIN number, he was very annoyed when he returned empty-handed from a cash machine, speeding off with the man still on board.
“He said he was going on to the moors to stab him,” Miss Kaye said.
The police saw Hussain shortly afterwards and went after him again.
When they tried to block his path in Frizinghall, the Fiesta collided with the patrol vehicle and span in the road.
The disabled man sustained whiplash, chest pains and cuts from a shattered window.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene.
Hussain had previous convictions for a string of robberies, dating back to when he was 14.
His record also included possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.
He pleaded guilty to two offences of robbery, possession of an axe as an offensive weapon, dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and driving without a licence or insurance.
Hussain’s barrister, Andrew Dallas, said his client had been in grip of a raging crack cocaine habit at the time and was desperate for money to fuel his addiction.
Hussain had received no advantages in life and began offending when he was a youth.
The last robbery he committed before these offences was when he was 17.
“He is no longer the tearaway young person that he used to be,” Mr Dallas said.
Hussain had been in custody since February and was now free from drugs and anxious to make a new start.
He hoped to train as a joiner while in prison to obtain employment on his release.
Judge Jonathan Gibson sentenced Hussain to three years imprisonment for each robbery and six months for the dangerous driving, the sentences to run consecutively. He was banned from driving for 21 months.

  11. Underage Migrants Cost France Two Billion Euros Per Year (breitbart, Sep 8, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/09/08/underage-migrants-cost-france-two-billion-euros-per-year/

“Figures released by the Assembly of French Departments (ADF) have revealed that underage migrants cost French taxpayers two billion euros per year.

Around 41,000 migrants under the age of 18 currently reside in France, 95 per cent of them being male, and cost the French state around 50,000 euros a year each, a report from Agence France-Presse states.

Most of the underage migrants are from Sub-Saharan Africa according to the ADF which says they represent around 15 to 20 per cent of all minors who receive social assistance in France.

The ADF notes that since the height of the migrant crisis in 2015, the number of minor migrants in care of the state has dramatically increased, with the figure going up by 74 per cent from 2016 to 2017 alone.

When a migrant claiming to be a minor arrives in a French department, the government has five days to speak with the migrant and find out details of their background.

Since January, departments are also able to request biometric data such as fingerprints to determine the origin and, through a court order, are able to perform tests to determine the age of the migrants.

According to the ADF, around half of the migrants tested on their age turn out to be adults.

Earlier this year in Angoulême in south-west France, a migrant attempted to claim that he was 17 years old but when authorities connected his fingerprints to a passport he had previously used, they found he was actually 47.

Last year in April, police in Montpellier busted a network of migrants who were using forged documents to claim they were underage. Authorities traced the fake documents to a civil servant in the Ivory Coast who was then arrested.

Last year, France saw a record number of new asylum claims with 123,625 migrants attempting to claim asylum, up 22.7 per cent from 2017 which had also been a record-breaking year.”

  13. Swedish Criminologist Links Changing Criminal Norms to Rise in Violent Crime (breitbart, Sep 8, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/09/08/swedish-criminologist-links-changing-criminal-norms-rise-violent-crime/

“Swedish criminologist Manne Gerell claims that changing norms and standards within the criminal milieu have led to the rise in violence currently rocking the country.

Deadly gang violence has seen a surge since 2012 and according to the Swedish Crime Prevention Council (Brå) is now twice as common as in the 1990s, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.

According to Manne Gerell, a criminologist at Malmö University, the rise in deadly attacks within the criminal community could be traced to changing norms as gang members constantly try to one-up each other.

“In order to make money and to establish oneself in that environment, you need to practice some violence or at least experience it. When some people start using automatic weapons, explosives, or hand grenades, the others must follow,” he said.

Gerell said that the wave of violence has no simple answer but noted that his theory may partially explain the increase.

Earlier this year, Brå reported that fatal shootings have become a status symbol among criminals, with investigator Erik Nilsson stating: “Today, there is a need for greater violence to build their reputation. More violence is needed to achieve a certain effect.”

He also claimed that some police efforts have been successful in solving gang crimes, saying that rapid response from officers has been key.

“Research has been able to show that a success factor that seems to be associated with [solving crimes] is rapid efforts such as house searches of victims or door knocks, and if you are quick and are on the offensive in the initial stages of the investigation,” he said.

Sweden has seen a surge of violence among criminal gangs this year, particularly when it comes to the use of explosives. Authorities note that 2019 saw a 45 per cent rise in explosions from January to July compared to the same period in the previous year.

In 2018, Sweden also saw a record number of fatal shootings, with Stockholm police’s gangs conflict specialist Gunnar Appelgren likening the situation to a country in a “state of war”.”

  14. SPAIN – Vegan Activist is Shot by Farmers After Trying to Rescue Rabbits

A British vegan activist was left covered in blood after farmers shot her through a car window for ‘rescuing’ 14 rabbits in Spain, she claims.
Barcelona-based activist Mia, who goes by the Instagram name ‘Mythical Mia’, posted video on her social media showing blood on her face and legs.

      • Spoiled exhibitionists, educated to destroy, that’s all.
They don’t care about a small-scale farmer trying to keep his head above water. These rabbit farmers can barely hold onto to a scrap of property that’s been in the family for generations. And that’s all they have.

~ ~ Time to send these Red Guards down to the country[*] to learn from the peasants ~~
……..[*]the ‘country’ being somewhere south of the Med Sea.

        • The problem we have is the conditions these rabbits are raised in. Would you want to be raised in such conditions?
I agree with selling them for food only if they have loads of space and real daylight.
I don’t buy any commercially raised meat because of the inhumane situation.
I do buy all commercial meat raised in fields such as wapiti, bison… and I know hunters who give me meat.
Try a bison filet, you’ll never go back to beef.
Is she a hero or a fool?
A fool for visiting an Islamic country.
A hero for standing up against the sale of caged animals. A rabbit is loaded in tiny bones and brings little food value.

    • Rescuing rabbits?we are up to our arses in rabbits, the sooner this self-righteous fool is treated for her mental illness the better for us and the rabbits

  15. Erdogan Reveals Turkey-US Disagreement at ‘Every Step’ on Syria Safe Zone (sputniknews, Sep 8, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201909081076750019-Erdogan-Reveals-Turkey-US-Disagreement-at-Every-Step-on-Syria-Safe-Zone/

“According to media reports, armed Turkish military vehicles crossed into northeast Syria on Sunday to begin planned joint US-Turkey patrols.

Turkey disagreed with the US ‘at every step’ while negotiating the establishment of a ‘safe zone’ in Syria, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, as quoted by Reuters.

“We are negotiating with the U.S. for the safe zone, but we see at every step that what we want and what they have in mind is not the same thing,” he said. “It seems that our ally is looking for a safe zone for the terrorist organization, not for us. We reject such understanding,” Erdogan said.

Earlier on Sunday, the Turkish Defence Ministry announced that Turkish and US armed forces started their joint patrols in a safe zone in Northeastern Syria.

“As a part of efforts to create a safe zone in the north of Syria to the east of the Euphrates, the Turkish and US military have started joint ground patrols using transport vehicles and drones to the south of Akcakale, on the Syrian side,” the Defence Ministry said.

The ministry added that six Turkish armoured vehicles also participated in patrols.

Syria condemns joint US-Turkish patrols in border strip in northeast Syria and says it is “flagrant violation” of the country’s sovereignty, according to an official statement.

Damascus believes that “this step is aggression and is aimed at prolonging the crisis in Syria,” the Syrian foreign ministry said in a statement.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed his intention to establish a ‘safe zone’ in northeast Syria together with the United States by the end of September.

Erdogan said last week that his country would not stand any delays in creating a “safe zone” in Syria and would establish it alone if talks with the US fail to produce results.

In August, Ankara and Washington agreed to create a safe zone to the east of the Euphrates River that would serve as a buffer zone between the Turkish border and Syrian areas controlled by US-backed Kurdish militias, which Turkey considers to be terrorists.

The Syrian government has opposed the US-Turkish agreement, labeling it as a violation of both Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as a violation of international law.

However, according to the leader of the Turkish Vatan political party, Turkey’s creation of a safe zone to the east of Euphrates is a tactical manoeuvre to make the United States stop supporting the Kurds.

Tensions between Ankara and the Kurds escalated in July 2015 when a ceasefire between Turkey and the PKK collapsed over a series of attacks allegedly committed by the PKK militants.”

  16. A little taste of Amsterdam’s political climate:

Wynia’s week: Amsterdam, the loony left laboratory
    https://www.dutchnews.nl/features/2019/09/wynias-week-amsterdam-the-loony-left-laboratory/
It’s not the only paradox of its kind, in loony left Amsterdam. GroenLinks alderman Rutger Groot Wassink is proud he bagged €11.5m a year to provide accommodation for 500 illegal immigrants, but when he spread the news of the ‘hotel for illegals’ among the locals he was met with a wall of resistance. Not all Amsterdammers are happy about the loony left council while others may support accommodation for illegal immigrants, as long as it’s not next door to them. Not that it makes any difference to the left-wing council’s gesture politics. At the end of June the council decided it should apologise for slavery (particularly in Suriname). The apology, scheduled for next year, is part of BIJ1’s Sylvana Simons’ successful one-woman political show. Sylvana just scraped in with one seat after efforts to become an MP came to nothing. But when Sylvana Simons proposes to change street names in the city, or wants to send Amsterdam civil servants on a ‘white’ humility course she has the full support of the coalition parties as well as the ChristenUnie, Partij voor de Dieren and Denk. Sylvana sets the tone in Amsterdam, all because of one measly little seat.
Amsterdam climate policy has its own ‘climate accord’. It includes the use of elephant poo from Artis zoo to generate sustainable energy. That about sums up the worldwide ambitions of this local council.

  18. Police raids find huge arms cache linked to Islamic terror group (theguardian, Sep 8, 2019)
    https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/sep/08/police-raid-arms-terror-group

“A significant arms cache, including a sniper rifle, a silencer and tracer rounds linked to the banned terrorist group al-Muhajiroun have been found in Coventry, the Observer can reveal.

Officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit and MI5 are investigating the weapons haul, which also includes a shotgun and 200 rounds of ammunition, following raids at several addresses in the city.

A statement from West Midlands Police, which assists the regional counter-terrorism unit, said: “Firearms and ammunition were recovered during the raids and a police investigation is ongoing.” Four men have been arrested, one of whom has links to the al-Muhajiroun network, according to sources. The group, active in the UK since the mid-1980s, disappeared after the July 2005 attacks on London, but maintained a presence under various different names. It was eventually banned in 2009 under legislation outlawing “glorification” of terrorism.

Supporters of al-Muhajiroun, whose traditional centres of organisation are the East End of London and Luton, have carried out atrocities including the 2017 London Bridge attack, the July 2005 bombings and the murder of Lee Rigby in 2013, with a number fighting for Islamic State and al-Qaida abroad.

Recent reports suggest the group is regenerating, buoyed by the release of convicted terrorists from prison. The former head of national counter-terror policing, Neil Basu, said the security services were working to disrupt terrorist activity by al-Muhajiroun.

Of the four men arrested in Coventry on suspicion of firearms offences, a 51-year-old and a 37-year-old remain on bail. Counter-terrorism officers raided two addresses in the city on 3 July and two more on 15 July.

A source said one of the arrested men had links with the al-Muhajiroun network before leaving the group and had reappeared on the security services’ radar after acquiring firearms.

The source said: “The ones to worry about are those who join the group and leave. They then fall into two categories: either going back into normal life and thinking those guys were a bunch of jokers; or getting really serious – and they are the ones to follow.

“The main guy [in this case] was in the purview of ALM and then jetted out like a comet and became a lot more serious than ALM could ever dream of being.”

Last year al-Muhajiroun’s British-born leader, Anjem Choudary, was released from prison after being convicted for his activities to support Isis. Choudary has no connection to the arms cache uncovered in Coventry and has always denied allegations that he has either incited or glorified acts of terrorism.

A number of ALM members travelled to Syria and Iraq to join Islamic State, including Siddhartha Dhar, a former bouncy-castle salesman from London, who was on bail for terrorism offences when he travelled to the Middle East to join the terror group.

After being banned in 2009, the group resurfaced under various different banners with one, Islam4UK, creating headlines after protesting in Luton against British soldiers returning from Iraq, a demonstration that helped to form the far-right English Defence League.

The West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit is one of 11 regional counter-terrorism units that form the National Counter Terrorism Policing Network that bring together intelligence, operations and investigative capabilities around the UK to prevent and prosecute terrorist activities. The finding of military-grade tracer rounds is particularly unusual in the UK.”

In the 2017 special election in Alabama Democrats ran a smear campaign against Judge Roy Moore and Facebook allowed it. The Democrats took the “Russian model” and ramped it up — times a million. LinkedIn cofounder Reid Hoffman (pictured) donated $100,000 to the cause. Democrats later admitted to the disinformation campaign.

In 2018 Reid Hoffman took part in another deceptive campaign and was a top donor of a Never-Trump Women’s Pac.

And in 2018 The Daily Caller News Foundation revealed Democrat operatives linked to Reid Hoffman used the same tactics in the 2018 midterm to suppress the GOP vote.

A 61-year-old Florida man shot and killed two of four intruders during a home invasion robbery in Summerfield in July.

The armed intruders broke into his home late at night in July.

The homeowner was using an AR15 during the incident.
One of the intruders was wearing a “Jason” mask over his head.

    This video is absolutely frightening!

Crimea Invites Iran to Use Its Ports as a U.S. Sanctions Workaround – Official

Crimea has offered Iran access to its ports as a way for Tehran to avoid Western sanctions on oil exports, a senior official in the annexed region’s Kremlin-backed administration told Russian media.

Iran is increasingly looking for alternative trade routes to skirt tensions in the Persian Gulf brought on by U.S. sanctions. The OPEC member’s crude exports have dropped by more than 80% following U.S. sanctions on its oil industry, though they have barely affected exports of oil products.

    • Very bad. What a shame.
People in Kiev were so optimistic, and there was a recent exchange of prisoners that went well.

  25. Hezbollah’s Demographic Problem Explains Its Restraint

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Hezbollah responded with restraint to Israel’s three-pronged attacks over the past two weeks in Syria, Iraq, and, above all, a neighborhood in Dahiya, the vast Shiite area in Beirut where Hezbollah is headquartered. The organization’s effort to avoid escalation reflects its demographic problem in Lebanon.

Israel’s three-pronged attacks over the past two weeks in Syria, Iraq, and, above all, in Dahiya, the vast Shiite neighborhood in Beirut where Hezbollah is headquartered both above and below ground, were met with a very limited Hezbollah response. An IDF truck was struck by two missiles with the obvious objective of killing Israeli soldiers in retaliation for the killing of two Hezbollah soldiers in an Israeli attack on Syria. This limited response – against Israeli military personnel only – sent a clear signal, acknowledged by the Israeli side, that Hezbollah wants to avoid escalation that could lead to all-out war.

The object of the Israeli attacks was to destroy equipment that would have facilitated the local manufacture of precision-guided missiles that could target Israel’s key strategic infrastructure of power plants, airbases, seaports, and airports. Israel has been taking this kind of action in Syria for nearly two years, and felt compelled to do the same in Lebanon as well.
