Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    You will never ever see the video footage of the “guy” who entered Walmart in El Paso and shot innocent people. You won’t ever see that footage – not on the news and not in court when he’s “prosecuted” for his crimes. You won’t even see footage of him in the parking lot, walking around with his automatic weapon, but you WILL see gruesome footage of medics carting off and carrying off victims, because those are the emotions the press wants you to experience, and those match their narrative.

      According to many who have watched the video, the suspects could have been pretending to be Muslim to commit the crime.

    On Monday, Daniel Wald, member of the state parliament, published pictures taken at the Gotthard pond. He wrote about it:”During my walk around the Gotthard pond on Wednesday I discovered some graffiti in Arabic language, which I asked my esteemed party colleague Dr. Tillschneider to translate for me out of interest.

    The result made me speechless and angry,
    In High Arabic there were written:
    “Welcome to the city of ugliness.” and “A whore city. There are sluts/(intoxicants)”.
    Not enough, that we get unasked millions of North African new citizens from the government by the words “Now they are just here”, now we have our goodwill exploited. And we from Merseburg do have luck as well – in the past weeks there were ” just” a few stabbings in the König-Heinrich-Street.
    In our town no children are pushed in front of trains or people are slaughtered with swords.

  15. Inquiries Into License To Carry Classes Up After Mass Shootings

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The number of mass shootings in the last week has prompted many to purchase guns and sign up for classes to earn their license to carry concealed weapons, according to the people who are doing training.

    Inside the Laguna Shooting Center, experts offer everything from concealed carry classes to active shooter training. Protocols and practices outlined in the training manuals have changed as the types of mass shooting scenarios change.

    Time and time again, we see violent images of horrific shootings. This weekend they came from in El Paso and then Dayton.

    “The officers took out the guy as soon as they got there,” said Terry Wingert, an instructor with the Advanced Security Institute.

    Wingert, a former police officer, has taught concealed carry classes for 40 years all across California. He teaches up to 300 classes a year, and when a mass shooting happens, inquiries go up 10-15%.

  16. Cyprus: Lawyer for UK woman accused of gang rape lie resigns

    The lawyer for a UK woman suspected of false gang rape allegations announced his resignation to the press in Palarmini on Wednesday.

    Andreas Pittadjis was in charge of defending the 19-year-old woman, who claimed she was gang-raped by 12 Israelis in a hotel in the resort town of Ayia Napa.

    According to the lawyer, it came after a disagreement with his client.

    “I requested to resign, that’s what I said to court today, I no longer wish to represent the case. This has nothing to do with anything you might interpret to be. I personally disagreed with the client, this is something that happens every day,” he said.

    He asked the journalists present not to read anything into his resignation, saying it could be “prejudicial to her defence.”

  17. Amazon Is Coaching Cops on How to Obtain Surveillance Footage Without a Warrant
    Ring, Amazon’s home surveillance company, is teaching police how to convince residents to share camera footage with them.

    When police partner with Ring, Amazon’s home surveillance camera company, they get access to the “Law Enforcement Neighborhood Portal,” an interactive map that allows officers to request footage directly from camera owners. Police don’t need a warrant to request this footage, but they do need permission from camera owners.

    Emails and documents obtained by Motherboard reveal that people aren’t always willing to provide police with their Ring camera footage. However, Ring works with law enforcement and gives them advice on how to persuade people to give them footage.

    • I really don’t understand why anyone would have one of these devices in their home. If, for some reason, I felt a need to have one I would construct some kind of sound proof box to put over it when not in use. Kind of like the cage cover Grandma had for her canary.

    ‘The actions, clothing of women can seduce us into breaking the law and causing us to be charged,’ says Mohamad Imran Abd Hamid

    A law to protect men from being “seduced” into raping women has been proposed in the Malaysian parliament.

    Mohamad Imran Abd Hamid, an MP with the ruling People’s Justice Party, told his fellow politicians that men commit sex crimes because they are “seduced” by women’s actions and clothing.

    “I propose a Sexual Harassment Act to protect men,” he told the Dewan Negara, the Southeast Asian country’s upper house, online news portal Malaysiakini reported. “From the actions, words and clothing of women, which can cause men to be seduced to the point they can commit acts such as incest, rape, molestation, [watching] pornography and likewise.

    He added: “This is important, [men] need to be protected. The actions, clothing of women can seduce us into breaking the law and causing us to be charged.”

    “I ask that the minister consider this so that the men in this country are safe, and the country is peaceful”.

    His proposal gained the backing of senate deputy president Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Abdul Samad from United Malays National Organisation, Malaysia’s biggest and main national opposition political party.

    He argued it was a “good viewpoint”.

    His comments were however condemned by the non-profit organisation, the All Women’s Action Society (AWAM), which criticised him for placing the onus on victims rather than perpetrators of sexual violence.

    “It is unacceptable for the senator to place the blame of rape, molestation, incest, porn and otherwise on the victim,” it said. “After all, it is the perpetrator who must take responsibility for their own actions. The idea that victims are unable to access justice or demand some form of redress after undergoing such a dehumanising experience simply adds to the creation of a culture of fear and violence.”

    It added: “Underlying all of this is the assumption that gender-based violence stems from desire or lust. However, such violence is never about desire or lust. It is about power and objectification.”

    Putrajaya, Malaysia’s federal administrative centre, is planning to table a Sexual Harassment Bill this year. This comes after a consultation with survivors of sexual harassment and non-governmental organisations.

    AWAM said the statement by the senator was made in response to the piece of legislation.

    Jennifer Wells-Qu, who works for the Asia branch of Equality Now, a non-government-organisation which aims to promote the rights of women and girls, said: “The notion that victims of rape, sexual assault, or other forms of violence be penalised for their abuse is absolutely abhorrent and the epitome of victim-blaming. A perpetrator of abuse is just that, a perpetrator, and should be penalised as such.

    “To put forward legislation like this not only puts women and girls at greater risk but also creates an environment of impunity for perpetrators of sexual violence and goes against well-established international norms and values around sexual consent and gender equality.”

    She called for the Malaysian government to enact laws and practices that encourage women and girls who have experienced sexual violence and abuse to speak up and seek justice.

    “This includes instigating policies that address victim-blaming culture and counter the types of harmful and erroneous gender stereotypes that senator Mohd Imran Abd Hamid is propagating,” she added.

    One in three women worldwide will experience physical or sexual violence at some point in her lifetime, mostly by an intimate partner, according to the World Health Organisation.

    The United Nations estimates that of all women who were the victims of homicide in 2017 (87,000), 58 per cent of them were killed by intimate partners or family members – meaning that 137 women across the world are killed by a member of their own family every day and that this number is on the rise.

    Malaysia, which has a poor track record on gender equality, caned two women for breaking its strict religious laws when trying to have consensual sex with each other last September.

    The unnamed women, who were aged 22 and 32, are thought to have been caned six times at a courtroom in the Terengganu state in front of family members and government officials.

    The pair, who were arrested in April last year by Islamic enforcement officers, admitted a charge of “sexual relations between women” and were also fined 3,300 ringgit (£633).

    Homosexual sex is illegal throughout Malaysia under colonial era criminal law and is punishable by canings or a prison sentence of up to 20 years.

    Campaigners say the dominant Malay Muslim culture makes homosexuality a sensitive and even dangerous topic – meaning many LGBT+ Muslims are forced to keep their sexual identity a secret.

  22. Fox News’ Tucker Carlson claims the ‘problem’ of white supremacy is a ‘hoax’

    Less than a week after a man believed to have written a racist manifesto about a “Hispanic invasion of Texas” killed 22 people in El Paso, Texas, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson claims the idea of America having a white supremacy problem is a “hoax.”

    Carlson made this claim on his Tuesday show, saying that white supremacy is “right up there with Russia” in terms of problems the United States faces and is “actually not a real problem in America” at all. To back up this argument, Carlson said that every person who is a member of a white supremacist organization in the country could fit inside a single college football stadium. Of course, as CNN’s Brian Stelter points out, this neglects the fact that “men like the suspect in El Paso aren’t ‘members’ of an ‘organization.'”

    “This is a hoax,” Carlson claimed. “Just like the Russia hoax. It’s a conspiracy theory used to divide the country and keep a hold on power. That’s exactly what’s going on.”

  26. BREITBART – UK’s Top Counter Terrorism Officer: Muslims Should Not Feel They Have to ‘Assimilate’

    Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu has said that British Muslims should not feel that they have to “assimilate” into British society and that “bullying, racism, [and] bigotry” could be to blame for some people being vulnerable to terror recruitment.
    Assistant Commissioner Basu, the UK’s highest-ranking officer of south-Asian heritage, told The Guardian in an interview that “Assimilation implies that I have to hide myself in order to get on. We should not be a society that accepts that.”

    “You should be able to practise your religion without suffering some condemnation of that; so my view is, do no harm. And that does not matter whether you are conservative Islamic, conservative Christian, conservative Hindu, conservative Sikh. You should be able to practise your culture or religion openly and still be accepting of others, and others be accepting of you. That is a socially inclusive society,” he added.

    Basu is widely-respected in Whitehall and is seen as the next potential head of London’s Metropolitan police, which also has national responsibilities for coordinating and leading on counter-terrorist activity. In a major departure from the position that terrorism needs to be tackled through policing and security services, the assistant commissioner told the left-liberal newspaper that the UK must improve social mobility and engage sociologists and academics to reduce terrorism.

    Saying that the country must uncover why a person would want to commit a terror attack against the United Kingdom, Basu said: “I want good academics, good sociologists, good criminologists … to be telling us exactly why that is.”

    The senior officer theorised that despite the high prevalence of terror being Islamist inspired, with jihadist attacks often later claimed by the Middle East-based Islamic State, because 80 per cent of terror suspects are born or at least raised in Britain, the problem must be closer to home, saying “that has got to tell us something about our society”.

    He went on to say that in the fight against terrorism, more “policies that go towards more social inclusion, more social mobility and more education” are needed and “are much more likely to drive down violence … than all the policing and state security apparatus put together. It is much more likely to have a positive effect on society.

    “The prescription for me is around social inclusion – it’s social mobility, it’s education, it’s opportunity.”

    Further painting potential terror recruits as victims who were “malleable” to negative influence, Basu blamed societal ills and human fragilities for why some people are more susceptible to terror recruiting that others, saying: “It might be everything from high anxiety, to lack of confidence, lack of education, things that may have happened to them when they are young, bullying, racism, bigotry, lack of opportunity, early experiences with law enforcement even, domestic violence.”

    Mr Basu was recently criticised for telling media that publishing leaked diplomatic memos, following the Kim Darroch affair, “may also be a criminal matter”, raising concerns over freedom of the press issues. The Met assistant commissioner then made an open order to the leakers to “turn yourself in at the earliest opportunity, explain yourself and face the consequences”.

  27. BREITBART –Suspect in Samurai Sword Murder That Shocked Germany Was Fake ‘Refugee’

    A “Syrian” migrant who was arrested last month after allegedly stabbed a man to death with a samurai sword in the middle of a busy street in front of dozens of witnesses was using a false identity to claim asylum.

    The alleged murderer, identified as 28-year-old Issa M., claimed to be Syrian when he came from Turkey to Germany in 2015 but according to his brother, he was not born in Syria but in Jordan, Austrian tabloid Kronen Zeitung reports.

    The murder, which took place last week in Stuttgart, was caught on film and during the incident, Issa M. can be heard asking, “what did you send to Berlin?”, fuelling speculation that the motive behind the killing had to do with his false identity being found out by the victim Wilhelm L.

    A friend of both men has added to the speculation saying that the 36-year-old German Kazakh had reported Issa M., his former roommate, to the authorities for asylum fraud.

    The brother of the alleged killer said that Issa M. bought a fake passport in Turkey that claimed he had been born in the Syrian city of Dara but the truth was that he had been born 20 miles away across the Jordanian border.

    Fake Syrian passports have been a problem for German authorities since the height of the migrant crisis in 2015 with a report in November of that year claiming that the country had been inundated with fakes.

    In 2016, German authorities admitted that they had let in migrants with fake passports even when they were aware the documents were fraudulent.

    According to the brother, Issa M. had led a relatively normal life after being given refugee status in Germany and had married a woman who may have already been married herself and had cheated on him.

    Issa M. allegedly beat the woman and afterwards moved to Stuttgart where he met Wilhelm. L. and shared an apartment together. Issa M. eventually left the flat after telling his brother the German-Kazakh had made his life hell.

    The case is just the latest murder allegedly committed by a migrant in Germany this year and follows the shocking murder of an eight-year-old child who was pushed in front of a train only days before.

  32. Russia: MoD’s new heavy combat drone makes successful maiden flight

    Russia’s Ministry of Defence released footage on Wednesday showing its new heavy combat unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Okhotnik performing its first flight at an undisclosed military airfield in Russia on August 3.

    The combat drone’s first flight lasted about 20 minutes during which it reached an altitude of 600 meters (2000 feet), the defence ministry said.

    The UAV is designed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau and is equipped with optical-electronic and radio engineering technology.

    Carsten Linnemann, a senior member of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party, has called for children with poor German language skills to be excluded from compulsory education.

    “To put it in a nutshell: A child who barely speaks and understands German has no place yet in a primary school,” Linnemann, deputy chair of the CDU’s parliamentary group, told the German newspaper Rheinische Post.

    Calling for tougher pre-matriculation language requirements, Linnemann admitted that “it costs money” but that “a lack of integration and education are much more expensive at the end of the day”.

    The remarks, which came in an apparent reference to migrant children, immediately drew criticism from some German politicians.

    Speaking to the German daily Suddeutsche Zeitung, Karin Prien, the CDU education minister in Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein state, in turn slammed Linnemann’s remarks as “populist nonsense” and “the completely wrong path”.

    Ahmad Mansour, a prominent German-Palestinian-Israeli psychologist studying extremism, however, took to Twitter to defend Linnemann, pointing out that “some want to purposefully misunderstand someone”.

    “It’s come to an industry of outrage! Objective differentiated dispute is a thing of yesterday,” he tweeted.

    Earlier, a mother and her son were allegedly pushed in front of an approaching high-speed train in Frankfurt by a 40-year-old Eritrean who illegally arrived in Switzerland in 2006.

    Commenting on the issue, German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer insisted that the German government “cannot allow either the exploitation or the downplaying of crimes by immigrants”.

    KABUL, Afghanistan — A powerful Taliban car bomb exploded on Wednesday outside the entrance of a police station in Kabul, the Afghan capital, killing 14 people and injuring at least 145 others as peace negotiations between the militants and United States diplomats continued.

    The explosion, following repeated warnings from the United Nations on rising civilian casualties, was the latest to strike a heavily populated area during the morning rush hour. The blast sent plumes of thick smoke into the sky and shattered windows in a radius of about a mile.

    Gen. Khoshal Sadat, Afghanistan’s deputy interior minister, said 14 people were killed and 145 wounded.

    Jalal Nazari, who lives about a half mile from the scene of the attack, said he had been lying down in his room when the explosion took place. “I thought it was in our yard,” he said. “The windows shattered, and I got up and went to a corner.”

    “It was a bad situation; everywhere was dark, and then shooting started,” he added. “I was so scared.”

    Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, said the group was responsible for the attack, adding that the insurgents targeted a recruitment center for Afghan forces and that many soldiers were killed or wounded.

    “Federal prosecutors have arrested a German woman on charges of membership in a terrorist organization and for allegedly joining the Islamic State group in Syria.

    Prosecutors said Wednesday that Sibel H., whose last name wasn’t given in line with privacy laws, also faces war crimes and weapons charges.

    They allege she traveled to Syria with her husband in 2016 to join IS, and ended up in Mosul, Iraq. Prosecutors say they lived in homes seized by IS, and she ran the household to support her husband’s work as a nurse in an IS hospital.

    As the Islamic State group began to collapse, they fled through Kurdish-controlled areas in the north and were captured by a militia in 2017.

    Prosecutors refused to provide further information on her or her husband.”

    The Central Asian nation’s parliament in June rescinded the autonomy that Almazbek Atambayev was accorded as former president of the country. He is accused of a range of crimes including corruption and expropriation of property.

    Atambayev, who was in office from 2011 to 2017, says the charges have been concocted by President Soorobai Jeenbekov, who was once his protégé.”

    “Bosnian police say 18 migrants have been injured under unspecified circumstances as they tried to enter the European Union by illegally crossing the Bosnia-Croatia border.

    Police said Wednesday they discovered the migrants near the Croatian border and are investigating the incident involving mostly Pakistani nationals. Officials said six men have been kept at a local hospital with mostly leg injuries.

    Bosnian news portal Klix said the migrants were pushed back overnight by Croatian border guards who illegally crossed into Bosnia in the process.

    Migrants stuck in Bosnia claim the Croatian border guards regularly beat them when they try to clandestinely enter the EU-member country. Croatian officials have repeatedly denied the claims.

    Thousands of migrants are stuck in northwestern Bosnia hoping to move toward Europe’s prosperous heartland.”

    Wednesday’s appeal came after a car packed with explosives detonated earlier this week outside Egypt’s main cancer hospital in Cairo, killing at least 20 people. It was the deadliest in the Egyptian capital in over two years.

    El-Sissi said in a televised speech that it’s “not only the mission of the state to defeat (militants), but also, we as a society have to make our sons understand, enlighten and protect them against this” extremist ideology.

    The government has accused a militant group known as Hasm, linked to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, for Sunday’s attack, saying it was moving the car to carry out an attack elsewhere.”

    “Immigration has possibly caused more fractious discord at the heart of the European Union than any other topic apart from Brexit, and it is a preoccupation shared by the citizens of Europe who say it is the most important issue facing the EU in 2019.

    The European Commission’s Eurobarometer survey, a twice-annually inquiry into the opinions of over 27,000 Europeans asked people in 33 countries what their main concerns were for the European Union, and found worries over immigration to be the clear winner. Some 34 per cent of Europeans said immigration was one of their top concerns in 2019, putting the issue comfortably ahead of the competition for another year.

    Immigration has been the top concern of the European people in every Eurobarometer but one for the past nine surveys and after a decline following a peak during the 2015 migrant crisis has remained reasonably stable since, experiencing its first major fall this year since 2016. More volatile has been worry about terrorism, which has peaked and troughed along with the intensity of radical Islamic terror attacks against European cities, rising to a first-place 44 per cent concern in 2017 to a joint third place 18 per cent two years later.

    High levels of concern about immigration, generally perceived to be an issue cared about by the political right, beating the generally left-linked issue of climate change comes despite the significant and ongoing preoccupation with the environment demonstrated by the mainstream media.

    The United Kingdom was one of the few European nations which bucked the trend about concern over immigration, where the issue came a close second to worries about the economic situation of the European Union, and with climate change in third place.

    While immigration was the primary concern in most other EU nations, there were a few other standouts — worry about climate change was first on the minds of respondents in Sweden Ireland, while Romanians were most worried about terrorism.

    The survey also asked what matters particularly impacted the respondent’s nation, rather than Europe as a whole, presenting a whole different balance of concern. Unemployment has taken a tumble since the economic crises earlier this decade, falling from 48 per cent for national-level concerns in 2014 to a joint-first 21 per cent in 2019.

    The United Kingdom bucked the trend of general European feeling in national matters also, showing that Britons were the most worries about crime of any nation in Europe, and more likely to be worried about housing provision than average. The British identified healthcare and social security as the number one domestic issue in 2019.

    The same survey also covered matters of faith in public institutions and organisations including the European Union itself. While Europeans, in general, do not trust the European Union in 2019, this was more pronounced for Britons, of whom 56 per cent said they didn’t trust the EU.”

    “A Muslim bus driver in Stockholm refused to let a woman board his bus as he and another two others began praying in the vehicle.

    The incident took place on Friday evening with the woman later saying that she thought no one would believe her story.

    On Monday, local Moderate Party politician Kristoffer Tamsons confirmed the story, stating on Facebook that the driver’s actions were “unacceptable”.

    He stated that he had begun an investigation into the matter to seek clarification on how employees are allowed to practice their religion while onboard public vehicles and the standards of the transport boards in general.

    According to news website Nyheter Idag, the woman said that she found the driver, along with two boys, kneeling on the seats of the bus engaging in prayer. When she attempted to board and knocked on the door of the bus, they ignored her and left her outside in the rain.

    She said that while she was let on the vehicle after the trio had stopped praying, the driver became aggressive because she had disturbed him during his prayer.

    The woman, uncomfortable about riding on the bus with the man, called her friend who came and picked her up in his car.

    Moderate politician Hanif Bali, known for his outspoken anti-mass migration views, posted a picture of the bus driver praying on the bus saying: “A woman was not allowed on a bus in Värmdö late at night, the bus driver had prayer time with his children. After the prayer time, he acted threateningly against the woman. I guess it’s Mormons.”

    The Islamic call to prayer made headlines in Sweden last year when police in the Swedish city of Växjö agreed to let the local mosque publicly broadcast the call after requests from the local Muslim community, despite some resistance from locals.”

    Iran’s defence industry unveiled three new precision-guided munitions at a ceremony in Tehran attended by Defence Minister Brig. Gen. Amir Hatami on Tuesday, Fars news agency has reported.

    Speaking at the ceremony, Hatami said that although Iran maintains a defensive posture, it “will not hesitate for a moment to defend the Islamic Republic and to expand security in the face of “the viciousness and conspiracies of the Great Satan America and its mercenaries.”

    Pointing to the new munitions’ advanced capabilities, Hatami called them “another significant achievement of power and dignity for the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

    The new arms include the ‘Yaseen’ and ‘Balaban’ guided smart bombs, as well as an upgraded version of the ‘Qaem’ guided munition. Equipped with manoeuvrable fins, and both an inertial and GPS-based guidance system, the Balaban can be carried by the HESA Karar, an Iranian-made jet-powered drone. The Yaseen, meanwhile, is said to be an all-weather bomb which can be deployed aboard various types of aircraft, with a range of over 50 km. The Qaem, also delivered by a variety of platforms, is said to have a targeting error margin of less than 50 cm, and is designed to destroy enemy bunkers, troops and moving targets with a range of interchangeable warheads.

    Also on Tuesday, Ali Larijani, speaker of Iran’s parliament, warned that Tehran now has the capability to “strike all US bases across the region” in the event of war using its precision arms. “If [the US and its allies] have a little bit of ability to reason, they will not enter a war with Iran,” Larijani warned, his remarks quoted by the Tehran Times.

    On Tuesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned the US against a conflict with Iran, saying such a war would be the “mother of all wars,” while peace with Iran would be “the mother of all peace.” Rouhani said Iran would be willing to resume negotiations with the US immediately if the latter lifted its sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

    On Wednesday, Hatami announced that Iran would showcase another missile – an Iranian analogue to Russia’s S-300 surface-to-air missile system called the Bavar 373, later this month. The system was tested in 2017, with development said to have started in 2010, soon after Russia suspended a $900 million deal signed in 2007 due to Moscow’s adoption of UN Security Council sanctions on Iran in 2010. Russia ended up holding off deliveries of the system to Tehran until 2016.

    Tensions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, the strategic waterway through which about a third of the world’s sea-bound oil supply passes daily, began escalating in mid-May, after a string of alleged sabotage attacks against oil tankers off the Emirati coast which the US immediately blamed on Iran. Tehran denied the claims, and accused the US and its Gulf State and Israeli allies of attempting to exacerbate tensions in the region. The US announced plans to send a carrier strike group to the region two weeks before the tankers were hit. In the months which followed, tensions escalated further after Iran shot down a $220 million US spy plane, and seized a British-flagged tanker it claimed was acting erratically. Last week, Iran seized a second tanker transiting through the Persian Gulf which it said was engaged in fuel smuggling. On Monday, the UK scrapped plans to form its own coalition in the Gulf, saying it would join the US security operation in the region instead.

    On Tuesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani assured his French President Emmanuel Macron that Iran was intent on ensuring security and freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, and accused the US of provocative actions in the region.

    France and Germany had planned to join a European coalition led by the UK to ensure security in the Gulf, with the fate of these plans put in question following London’s announcement about joining the US coalition.”
