Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. TRUMP appoints new Director of Intelligence. Guess who?
    Congressman RATCLIFFE.
Great choice after his masterful performance at the Mueller hearing.

  2. Was wondering if you’d seen these articles where the religious group traitors want Trump to allow 95,000 Refugees brought in for 2020? The 2nd article lists the 40 religious (traitorous) groups who want to keep flooding America with invaders. Interestingly, several muslim groups were on the list.

  4. Russian Military Accuses US of Hijacking Oil Trade in Syria From Daesh (sputniknews, Jul 29, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201907291076394326-russian-military-accuses-us-of-hijacking-contraband-business-in-syria-from-daesh/

“During the war in Syria, the Russian Ministry of Defence repeatedly accused the US-led coalition of using US-controlled base camps to train jihadist militants being reorganized into the so-called ‘New Syrian Army’. Syrian and Iranian officials have similarly accused Washington of shady dealings with Syrian jihadist groups.

US and US-affiliated forces in Syria have ‘hijacked’ the illegal oil trade from Daesh (ISIS),* the Russian General Staff announced Monday in a briefing.

According to the Russian military, in addition to their criminal enterprises, US-trained militants have been training to destroy oil and gas infrastructure and to organize attacks against Syrian government forces.

According to military intelligence, the US has provided various Arab and Kurdish militias with arms in exchange for assistance in the illegal trafficking of Syrian oil to the East of the Euphrates. Specifically, the military clarified that US-controlled entities have organised the illegal production and sale of Syrian oil from the al-Omar, Conaco and Tanak oil fields on the Euphrates River’s east bank.

The Russian General Staff also reiterated Monday Moscow’s previous accusations against the US over civilian deaths at the Rukban refugee camp in southern Syria, situated near the US military base at at-Tanf near the Jordanian border, saying the US side has done nothing to resolve the humanitarian crisis.

Furthermore, the Russian military reported that “US-trained saboteurs” have been sent from at-Tanf to other parts of Syria to try to destabilize the situation in the country. This includes training of a ‘major armed unit’ of Jaish Magawir al-Saura militants in the 55 km zone surrounding the at-Tanf base.

Separately, the Russian military reported that terrorists have continued their efforts to organise attacks against Russian forces at the Khmeimim Air Base in Latakia, where the Russian contingent in Syria is based.

Russian military intelligence also specified that over 300 terror attacks have rocked areas of Syria under US control near the Euphrates between June and July, killing 225 people.

    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201907291076393073-libyan-national-army-begins-2nd-phase-of-tripoli-offensive–lawmaker/

“The Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, has begun the second stage of the offensive on the Libyan capital of Tripoli, Ali Qaidi, a member of the country’s Tobruk-based parliament, said on Monday.

“The [LNA] forces are advancing on Tripoli for a new day of the Operation Flood of Dignity, that is, as part of the second phase of the military operation after the army has achieved most of its goals,” Qaidi said.

Earlier in July, the LNA said that it had successfully completed the first stage of the offensive on Tripoli.

Since early April, the LNA has been engaged in an offensive to gain control over Tripoli. The UN-backed Government of National Accord has been waging a counteroffensive to prevent the LNA from capturing the city.

Libya has been torn apart by conflict since the long-time leader Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown in 2011. The eastern part of the country is governed by the parliament, backed by the LNA and located in Tobruk. The Government of National Accord, headed by Prime Minister Fayez Sarraj, operates in the country’s west and is headquartered in Tripoli.”

  6. Islamic meeting in rural England: 35000 to attend convention to break down misconceptions (express, Jul 29, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1158377/muslim-caliphate-england-islam-uk-Alton-Mirza-Masroor-Ahmad-jalsa-salana-pledge-allegiance

“MUSLIMS from over one hundred countries will descend on Alton in the English Countryside to pledge allegiance to a global caliphate this August.

A Hampshire farm temporarily turned “Islamic global village” will see thousands of participants pledge allegiance at the hand of the Caliph, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad. The Caliph aims to tackle key issues and misconceptions about Islam, such as whether it is “a religion of peace or terror.” He said: “No matter what terrorists may claim, under no circumstances are indiscriminate attacks or killings ever justified.

“Islam has enshrined the sanctity of human life in the Holy Quran, which states: ‘Whosoever killed a person, it shall be as if he killed all mankind, and whoso gave life to one, it shall be as if he had given life to all mankind’”

The August event is the longest standing and largest Muslim convention in the UK.

It will address perceptions that Islam is incompatible with British values.

The Caliph said: “The need of the hour is for us to knock down the barriers of fear that divide us.

“Rather than erecting walls that keep us apart, we should build bridges that bring us closer together.

“We must stand up against all forms of oppression, hatred and use all our capabilities to try and foster peace in the world.”

His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Caliph to millions of Muslims, will address the crowds in attendance.

The conference will focus on increasing the spirituality of the participants, whilst also tackling issues facing the world’s second-largest religion, including the rise of so-called Islamic extremism, the growing threat of the far-right and Islamophobia.

The Caliph will also address 15,000 Muslim women about women’s rights in Islam.

At the annual convention, known as the Jalsa Salana, the Union Jack will be raised as a mark of integration and show of loyalty to Britain.

The event aims to show, “that Islam, one of the most misrepresented faiths, belongs to Britain and fight the commonly held disbelief that Islam is a threat to British values”.

The event is organised by the Ahmadiyy Muslim Community and will take place on August 2-4.”

    • “Islam has enshrined the sanctity of human life in the Holy Quran, which states: ‘Whosoever killed a person, it shall be as if he killed all mankind, and whoso gave life to one, it shall be as if he had given life to all mankind’”

“So, let’s take a look at what the verse REALLY says:

On account of this, We prescribed for the children of Israel that whosoever killed a person — unless it be for killing a person or for creating disorder in the land — it shall be as if he had killed all mankind; and whoso gave life to one, it shall be as if he had given life to all mankind. And Our Messengers came to them with clear Signs, yet even after that, many of them commit excesses in the land.

      Quran 5:33

In other words, the actual verse is the Muslims telling ISRAEL that they are not to kill and NOT TO CAUSE DISORDER IN THE LAND. Yet, even after they were told (ordered) by the Muslims not to cause disorder in the land, they did it anyway. The background of this is that they are talking about when Cain killed Abel.”

“New British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s “familiarity” with Iran will help improve relations between the Islamic Republic and Britain, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday.

In a message posted on the official Iranian presidency website, Rouhani congratulated Johnson on his appointment and outlined his hopes for better future relations:

    In the Name of God,

    Your Excellency Mr Boris Johnson,

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,

I would like to offer my congratulations to Your Excellency on your election as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I hope that Your Excellency’s familiarity with relations between Iran and the United Kingdom, and your only one visit to Tehran greatly contribute to removing the existing obstacles on the path of development of relations between the two countries, and we witness further deepening of bilateral and multilateral relations during your tenure as the Prime Minister.

I wish Your Excellency health and success.

    Hassan Rouhani

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Tensions between London and Tehran have been under increasing strain since Iranian commandos seized the British-flagged Stena Impero oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz on July 19, two weeks after Royal Marines captured an Iranian oil tanker near Gibraltar, accusing it of violating sanctions on Syria.

Rouhani’s public plea came within hours of a Royal Navy warship arriving in the Persian Gulf to accompany British-flagged ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, as Breitbart News reported.

Britain’s Ministry of Defense said Sunday the Type 45 destroyer HMS Duncan will join the frigate HMS Montrose to defend freedom of navigation.

  9. Germany: Africans harass women and urinate in crowded public bus+++
In a public bus in Saxony-Anhalt on Saturday evening an abnormal harassment took place. According to police reports on Sunday, a 22-year-old man harassed three women in the bus from Köthen to Halle (Saale), aged 18, 20 and 38, and urinated inside the bus. When the federal police checked the man and his two companions at the destination, a 19-year-old pulled down his trousers and exposed his genitals to the police officers. Two men were then temporarily arrested and another man was taken into custody. According to the police, the three suspects were “Africans” and had no valid identity documents with them.Such “actions” are more than just disgusting. This is a repeated demonstration of who has the say in public space.

  10. Germany: A Palestinian threatened to detonate a bomb in a public bus to kill all passengers+++
On Friday afternoon a life-threatening situation occurred in a public bus in Neu-Ulm (Bavaria) “to the detriment of the bus driver and other passengers” (police report). An illegally immigrated Palestinian known to the police with a Jordanian passport threatened a crowded bus full of passengers with a bomb and other death threats in broad daylight. The suspect, who is 43 years old and has no permanent residence in Germany, got on the bus at the stop Memminger Straße in Neu-Ulm and asked the bus driver, after the latter had started his ride, whether the bus to Ulm would go to the hospital. After the bus driver denied this, the passenger immediately wanted to get out of the vehicle, which was on its way to Ludwigsfeld. The bus driver then informed the man that he had to continue his journey until the next stop. Then the 43-year-old Jordanian became violent, began to scream and threatened to kill everyone by detonating a bomb in his backpack. He also held a brick in his hand and threatened to kill everyone in the vehicle. He then left the bus at the Rathiopharm Arena stop. An immediately initiated local search by several patrol crews led to the man being picked up and searched immediately.Further clarification by the police department also revealed that the perpetrator was wanted by various public prosecutors from the federal territory for the purpose of investigating his whereabouts.

The boy was killed as a high-speed ICE train was pulling into the station, one of Germany’s busiest. Police said the mother was able to escape but the boy was hit and run over by the train and suffered fatal injuries, police spokeswoman Isabell Neumann said. The 40-year-old African fled the scene with passers-by in pursuit and was arrested near the station, police said. He was being questioned and there was no immediate information on his possible motive. Neumann said there appeared to be no connection between the suspect and the victims. The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party quickly linked the case to a mass influx of migrants and refugees in recent years.

  12. Cyprus: UK woman suspected of false gang rape claim arrives at court

A 19-year old British woman, who claimed she was gang-raped by 12 Israeli teenagers in Cyprus, was seen arriving at the Famagusta District Court in eastern town of Paralimni on Monday. The hearing was reportedly delayed until Tuesday as the woman’s defence lawyer has not yet arrived in Cyprus.

The British woman was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of filing a false complaint of gang rape.

Twelve Israeli youngsters were detained on July 18 on suspicion of participating in the gang rape of the woman. She had contacted the police on July 17, claiming that she had been raped by the group of men in a hotel in the resort town of Ayia Napa.

Five of the 12 suspects were released last week, after DNA results failed to implicate them. The other seven were released on Sunday after the woman allegedly changed her story.

A bi-partisan bill working its way through Congress could drastically change how copyright claims are processed, and would create a system to impose up to $30,000 in fines on anyone who shares protected material online.

In other words, the Congress wants to make it easier to sue people who send a meme or post images that they didn’t create themselves, essentially a giveaway to lawyers who sue unsuspecting suckers for a living.

The Senate Judiciary Committee last week approved the “Copyright Alternative in Small-Claims Enforcement Act of 2019,” which “creates a voluntary small claims board within the Copyright Office that will provide copyright owners with an alternative to the expensive process of bringing copyright claims, including infringement and misrepresentation …. in federal court,” according to the Copyright Alliance.

  19. State Rep. Ilhan Omar was arrested in 2013 for trespassing and booked at Hennepin County Jail “to prevent further criminal conduct,” according to a newly uncovered police report.

The incident took place on January 18, 2013 following an event at the Minneapolis Convention Center featuring former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. The Somali president was set to stay the night at the Hotel Ivy, causing large groups of Somalis to follow the presidential convoy to the hotel, including Omar.

According to the police report, hotel staff requested police assistance in clearing the lobby, saying that anyone without a hotel room key was not welcome on the premises and needed to leave immediately. The officer handling the incident said the majority of people who were asked to leave were compliant. However, Omar, when approached, was “argumentative” and refused to leave.

“As she stood her ground and refused to leave I took hold of her left elbow to escort her from the lobby. Omar then pulled away from me stating, ‘Don’t put your hands on me!’ Others in her group complied and began walking toward the front entry/exit door as I ordered and I managed to coax Omar out with them,” the police report reads.

  21. American Movie Studios Are Wrong to Appease Chinese Censors

And it’s not the first time Hollywood has bowed to an authoritarian foreign power.

China is now the big player in global cinema. “The Chinese film market is going to be the largest film market in short order,” Charles Rivkin, the new chairman of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), said on a conference call with reporters. “They’re building about 25 screens a day.” Last year, more movie tickets were sold in China than in North America.

American studios are desperate to capitalize on this growth by overturning the Chinese government’s edict that a maximum of only 34 American films a year can play on Chinese big screens. At the same time, they want to make sure that the tariff war between the U.S. and China doesn’t shrink their celluloid profits.

To stay on Beijing’s good side, U.S. filmmakers are willing to kowtow to China’s authoritarian regime, and there seems no limit to their willingness to acquiesce.

Take Top Gun: Maverick, a long-awaited sequel to the 1986 classic action film that made Tom Cruise a superstar. All of the patches from the original film were there except for flags representing Chinese adversaries Japan and the Republic of China (Taiwan). Those flags were missing.

Dettloff showcases Marxist priests “like Herbert McCabe, O.P., Ernesto and Fernando Cardenal, S.J., Frei Betto, O.P., Camilo Torres” who “have been inspired by communists and in many places contributed to communist and communist-influenced movements as members,” as if the corruption of Catholic clergy were grounds for supporting Marxism.

“Many of my friends in the Party for Socialism and Liberation, for example, a Marxist-Leninist party, are churchgoing Christians or folks without a grudge against their Christian upbringing,” Dettloff declares, “as are lots of people in the radical wing of the Democratic Socialists of America.”

The writer then describes Christianity as just another ideological “faction” alongside other factions, such as communism.

Each time he was released, he returned to publishing his website, which became a go-to destination for Chinese petitioners who had few options to seek redress for abusive working conditions or illegal land grabs.

    DONALD TRUMP

    By – Associated Press – Wednesday, July 24, 2019
NEW YORK (AP) – A judge has rejected claims that President Donald Trump and his three eldest children broke federal racketeering laws when people lost money in a marketing company Trump promoted, though she let state claims proceed.

Wednesday’s ruling by U.S. District Judge Lorna Schofield came after several individuals sued Trump, saying he falsely reassured them he had adequately researched the company, known as ACN.

Plaintiffs’ attorney Roberta Kaplan cheered the survival of state claims of false advertising, deceptive trade practices and fraud.

Trump endorsed the company in speeches and on “The Celebrity Apprentice.”

Schofield rejected racketeering claims on grounds the lawsuit in Manhattan federal court did not sufficiently explain how Trump could have caused losses to individuals.

  26. Nadler then vs. now: Perjury and obstruction of justice are not impeachable offenses
By Jeff Dunetz July 29, 2019

Perhaps when the doctors stapled Jerrold Nadler’s stomach, they put a few into his brain also. Either that or he puts his party before the truth. Putting aside that his bloviations about Donald Trump’s purported lying and obstructing justice are totally bogus, in 1999, during the impeachment of Bill Clinton, Nadler entertained the opposite view views about what offenses should lead to impeachment.

A New York Times article dated Feb. 1, 1999 celebrated Nadler as the leading voice in the House fight over the Clinton charges.

  27. Right-Wing Group Hindu Sena Demands Ban on Quran in India Over ‘Threat’ to National Security (sputniknews, Jul 29, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/asia/201907291076397275-right-wing-group-hindu-sena-demands-ban-on-quran-in-india-over-threat-to-national-security/

“A right-wing Hindu group known for its audacious, attention-grabbing behaviour has demanded that the Indian government ban the Quran, claiming that the Islamic holy book incites violence and constitutes a major threat to national security.

Hindu Sena’s president Vishnu Gupta wrote to the Indian Home Ministry on Monday, saying the Quran threatens India’s national security.

The group’s founder suggested the radical move after reading the holy book of Islam, which he purchased at a bookstore in New Delhi.

“I found therein (in book) many contradictions and shocking instances of violence on non-Muslims and ex-Muslims as well as bribing people to enjoy an imaginary Islamic Paradise,” Gupta has stated in his letter to the Home Ministry.

In the letter, he says the book lures in the youth and promotes terrorism, as it claims that Muslims who die fighting the enemies of Allah (Non-Muslims) can enjoy beautiful women called “Houris” (most beautiful women) eternally.

“The government of India initiated legal proceedings against a dangerous Islamic preacher like Zakir Naik but the truth is Zakir Naik was and is inspired by teachings of this book Quran and his actions and speeches are congruent with the contents and message of The Quran,” the letter added while emphasising that the chief “inspirational manual of Islamic terrorism The Quran itself”.

Earlier this year, the group had urged the government to ban burqas and veils in the wake of the growing menace of terror and impending danger of further attacks following the recent bombings in Sri Lanka, in which 253 people were killed and hundreds of others injured.

The group gained national recognition in 2016 after it celebrated the birthday of US President Donald Trump and prayed to god for his victory in the presidential election.

Founded by Vishnu Gupta in 2011, the Hindu Sena group keeps drawing public attention with unusual acts, such as by paying tribute to Queen Victoria on her 118th death anniversary, saying that she “freed India from the autocratic rule of the Mughals”.

Despite being a Hindu-majority country, India is home to more Muslims than any other nation on Earth aside from Pakistan and Indonesia.”

  28. Migrants Face Deportation After Wreaking Havoc at Dusseldorf Pool (sputniknews, Jul 29, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201907291076397729-germany-dusseldorf-pool-migrants/

“Germany has accepted more than a million migrants from the Middle East and Northern Africa since Angela Merkel announced her “open borders policy” in 2015. The German Chancellor has repeatedly been slammed for failing to effectively address migrant influx-related crime, especially after the 2015 mass sexual assaults by refugees in Cologne.

Thomas Geisel, Mayor of Dusseldorf, capital of the North Rhine-Westphalia federal state, has warned that all those migrants who are responsible for last week’s unrest in the city’s Rheinbad pool face deportation.

“Criminal cases [opened against instigators] … may also lead to deportation acts”, he told the German news network ZDF, adding that all the offenders have already been identified and that the investigation is under way.

According to him, questions about the termination of residence permits for foreign citizens are “in the competence of the relevant authorities”.

Geisel said that he had personally seen a video of what looked like a group of mainly North Africans occupying the pool’s diving tower, insulting the staff and shouting threats, something that prompted the facility’s administration to close it ahead of schedule last Friday.

Earlier, he told the German news outlet Express that in Rheinbadm, local authorities had “introduced an identity card for all visitors”.

“Those who do not comply will not be let in. It is absolutely unacceptable and inconceivable that families who want to spend their free time here are harassed by youth gangs,” he emphasised.

Last Friday, at least 20 Dusseldorf police were called to the scene at the Rheinbad pool due to aggressive demeanour of about 60 mostly North African youths who were finally dispersed. Similar incidents in late June prompted the evacuation of the pool’s personnel and visitors on two consecutive days.

Since 2015, Europe has been struggling to cope with the effects of an influx of refugees, with hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing war and social crises in the Middle East and Africa.

Since then, Germany has welcomed nearly a million migrants amid harsh criticism of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s “open borders policy”, including her failure to resolve migrant crisis-related crime following mass sexual assaults staged by migrants in Cologne on New Year’s Eve in 2015.”

  29. Declining US Naval Power Does Not Augur Well for Eurasia

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: As US naval power declines, other powers – such as China, Russia, and, to a lesser extent, India and Iran – are set to increase their presence in the world’s naval lanes. Because American power depends on its dominance at sea, Washington’s ability to control Eurasia is coming under increasing pressure.

The sovereignty of small countries across the Eurasian landmass is largely contingent upon direct US support and power. It is therefore worthwhile to track changes in American power and in Washington’s vision of its military posture around the globe – a subject that is under-discussed by analysts and politicians.

The starting point for this discussion will be an understanding that US power in Eurasia, popular opinion notwithstanding, has always been of relatively limited character. This is due to the fact that the US is a sea power surrounded by large swaths of water. Its ability to reach the depths of the Eurasian continent through the deployment of troops is therefore constrained.

  33. ‘Whoever’s on Israel’s Side, We’re Against Them’, Erdogan Says Amid His War of Words With Netanyahu (sputniknews, Jul 29, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201907291076398570-israel-turkey-erdogan-netanyahu/

“…Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has staged another verbal attack on Israel by saying, “whoever is on the side of Israel, let everyone know that we are against them.”

Speaking at a gathering of Turkey’s ruling AKP Party in Ankara on Sunday, Erdogan said that the Turkish government does not “approve of silence on the state terror that Israel blatantly carries out in Palestine.”

The remarks come against the backdrop of ongoing war of words between Erdogan and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with the Turkish President referring in March to Netanyahu, who faces corruption allegations at home, as “the thief who heads Israel”….”
