Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. “The sequel to “Top Gun” appears to have bowed to China’s powerful Communist party by changing the jacket of its titular character, Maverick, played by Tom Cruise.

China is known for fiercely protesting and threatening any company that even hints at Taiwan’s sovereignty, and Maverick’s jacket in the original movie has a Taiwanese flag.

But the sequel has a new patch that removes the Taiwanese flag and even the Japanese one on a navy patch on his jacket.

China heavily censors foreign films and television and is increasingly catered to by filmmakers as it’s set to displace the US as the top consumer of film.”

  2. Iran Identifies 17 CIA-Trained Spies – Media Citing Intelligence Ministry Official (sputniknews, Jul 21, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201907221076317671-iran-identifies-17-cia-spies/

“Earlier, Iranian authorities announced that a “large US cyber-espionage” network run by the CIA had been busted in the country, with several spies being arrested.

According to semi-official Fars news agency citing an Iranian intelligence ministry official, 17 CIA-trained spies have been identified.

“Some were sentenced to death and some to long-term imprisonment,” ministry official said.

“The rulings for these spies have been issued and a number of them will be executed as corruptors on Earth,” the director-general of the intelligence ministry’s counterespionage department said as quoted by the Fars news agency.

“Some were approached when they were applying for a visa, while others had visas from before and were pressured by the CIA in order to renew them,” he added.

According to reports, spies were arrested during the Iranian calendar year that ended in March 2019.

??The media report, which has yet to be confirmed, follows Tehran’s announcement on 17 June that the country had dismantled a CIA-run “large US cyber-espionage” network.

According to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, the cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and other countries has led to “the disclosure and dismantling of a network of CIA officers, as well as the detention and punishment of several spies.”

In June, Iranian defence employee, Jalal Haji Zwar, who allegedly collaborated with the CIA and spied for the United States, has been executed in Rajaishahr Prison. Jalal Haji Zwar worked as a contractor for the ministry-controlled Aerospace Industries Organization, but was dismissed in 2010.

Earlier, two oil tankers, the Panama-registered Kokuka Courageous, operated by Japan’s Kokuka Sangyo Co, and Marshall Islands-flagged Front Altair, owned by Norway’s Frontline, were hit by explosions in the Gulf of Oman, near the Strait of Hormuz.

Shortly after the incident, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused Tehran of orchestrating the attacks, with the US CENTCOM releasing a video claiming to show Iranian sailors removing an unexploded mine from the hull of one of the tankers as “proof” of Tehran being the culprit.

Tensions between the US and Iran have escalated in the last months, as Tehran withdraws from voluntary obligations set under the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear deal and the US builds up its military presence in the Middle East.”

  3. Norwegian Right-Wing Party: Immigrant-Critical Voices ‘Kept Away From Public Debate’ (sputniknews, Jul 22, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201907221076317511-norwegian-right-wing-party-immigrant-critical-voices-kept-away-from-public-debate/

“Previous studies have indicated researchers’ penchant for lesser left-wing parties at the expense of the right-wing parties, suggesting a left-wing slant in research on immigration issues.

Norway’s right-wing Progress Party has argued that immigration research is “one-sided and politicised”, calling for more diversity of opinion.

“I believe there are grounds to claim that research is politicised and that one is looking for answers that put immigration in a better light”, Progress Party immigration spokesman Jon Helgheim told the newspaper Klassekampen, stressing that most people who work with immigration are on the left.

According to him, the researchers are compelled to ask “unpleasant questions” about the consequences of immigration.

“I do believe the researchers present what they find, but it begs to be answered what they are looking for. We results that seem to be politically motivated”, Helgheim said. “We see an increasing tendency for immigration-critical voices to be kept away from public debate”, he stressed.

According to him, the research foundation Fafo, founded by the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions and focusing on social studies, is a prime example of angled research.

“You have research environments, such as Fafo, which don’t always look to find the full and the whole picture, but rather angles that support a myth that immigration is positive.”

To counteract this situation, the Progress Party has put forward a proposal “to put greater demand on openness and diversity of opinion in social research in matters of immigration, integration and crime”. The diversity of opinion is to be ensured, for example, by using research environments outside of Norway to provide a different perspective.

“Had we had more serious and non-political research, we would never even have this discussion about immigration being positive for the nation,” Helgheim said.

Asle Toje, former research director at Norway’s Nobel Institute, agreed with Helgheim that the bias is in place.

“We do not have figures on this in Norway, but there is good reason to put such a hypothesis,” Toje said, referring to figures from the US that indicate an overwhelming presence of left-wing liberals in social research and humanities.

According to Toje, the scientists are doing their work in an honest way, but prejudice stems from the way the goals and questions are formulated, as well as different factors being weighed in.

By contrast, Labor party spokesman Martin Henriksen strongly criticised the Progress Party proposal, calling it “a dangerous way to go” and suggesting it would “dictate the content” and “undermine free research”.

Fafo director Tone Fløtten contended that is wrong to suggest that the foundation is concerned with showing positive aspects of immigration.

“Fafo has no view of immigration. Among other things, Fafo researches how integration in Norway works, for example through evaluations of the authorities’ measures and of immigrants’ living conditions. As an institution, of course, we have no attitude to immigration, and thus no desire that the research will produce specific results”, Fløtten assured.

Previous research, however, has highlighted Norwegian researchers’ left-wing sympathies. A 2017 survey indicated that only 1.1 percent of the Researchers’ Association supported the right-wing Progress Party, as opposed to 15.3 percent of the general population. By contrast, Norwegian researchers tend to disproportionately favour lesser left-wing parties, such as the Greens, the Socialist Left and the Reds.

Immigration to Norway has greatly increased over the past decades, starting from the 1990s. In 1992, the immigrant population in Norway was 4.3 percent. Today, immigrants make up about 900,000 of Norway’s population of 5.3 million (or about 17 percent).”

  4. Iran warning: Navy sends nuclear submarine to Gulf after Tehran seizes British oil tanker (express, Jul 22, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1156053/navy-nuclear-sub-gulf-iran-uk-oil-tanker-middle-east-crisis

“BRITAIN is to send a nuclear-powered attack submarine to the Gulf after Iran seized a British-flagged oil tanker.

As tensions rose in the region, sources stressed that the Astute-class submarine would perform a purely defensive role, using its sophisticated covert electronic intelligence gathering equipment to safeguard British and international shipping. On Saturday Iran increased its provocation by publishing images of the Iranian National Guard Corps’ elite Quds Force abseiling from helicopters to board the tanker. It is a mirror of images released two weeks ago by Britain showing Royal Marines descending on Grace 1, an Iranian tanker suspected of carrying oil to Syria.

Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said UK vessels “must and will be protected”. During an emergency call with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, Mr Hunt said he “expressed extreme disappointment that having assured me last Saturday Iran wanted to de-escalate the situation they have behaved in the opposite way”.

He added: “This has to be about actions, not words, if we are to find a way through. British shipping must and will be protected.”

The 7,400-ton submarine, one of Britain’s newest, will be able to plot movements and voice transmissions from 200 miles away.

Its electronic warfare suite can intercept and download all conversations with specialist linguists onboard. They can evaluate the transmission and report back to naval headquarters, Sources say it will focus its attention on the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, and the flotilla of so-called midget submarines which pose an increasing threat to international shipping along the Strait of Hormuz.

“We are sending a boat – it may well already be heading for the region,’ said a senior Royal Navy source last night.

“Its role is a covert intelligence posture, simply gathering information to support the planned escort convoys of tankers.

“The Astute-class commands a significant electronic warfare capability and does not actually need to be sat in the Gulf to be effective.”

Last night Defence Secretary Penny Mordaunt confirmed that a Royal Navy frigate was just an hour away when Iranian forces took control of the British-flagged Stena Impero in what she described as a “hostile act”. Mr Hunt rejected claims by Tehran that it had performed a “tit-for-tat” act to the British impounding of the Grace 1 supertanker…”

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/07/21/iran-backed-terrorist-cells-ready-strike-uk-tension-escalates/

“Iran-backed terrorist cells could be deployed to launch attacks in the UK if the crisis between London and Tehran deepens, intelligence sources have warned.

Among senior intelligence officers, Iran ranks behind only Russia and China as the nation state posing the greatest threat to Britain’s national security and the seizure of the UK-flagged oil tanker Stena Impero will have intensified concerns in MI5 and MI6.

Intelligence agencies believe Iran has organised and funded sleeper terror cells across Europe including the UK and could greenlight attacks in response to a conflict in the Gulf.

“Nigerian police say four Turkish nationals have been abducted by gunmen.

Okasanmi Ajayi, police spokesman in Kwara state, told The Associated Press that four Turkish construction workers were at a drinking spot when six gunmen walked in and abducted them. He said the incident occurred Saturday night in Gbale village in the Edu area of Kwara state.

Ajayi said police have been deployed to rescue the Turkish men and to apprehend the kidnappers.

It’s the second time this month that Turkish nationals have been abducted in Nigeria.

Ten Turks were kidnapped on July 13, when sea pirates attacked a Turkish flagged general cargo vessel off the Nigerian coast. The Turkish seamen have not yet been rescued.

    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/rights-group-iraq-government-mismanaging-water-crisis-64479703

“A leading rights organization says Iraq’s government is failing to properly address underlying causes for an ongoing water crisis in the country’s south.

A report released on Monday by Human Rights Watch on chronic water shortages and pollution in Iraq’s Basra province says authorities continue to allow activities that pollute the province’s water resources despite the health risks to residents.

The report says promised government projects to improve water quality have failed to materialize due to mismanagement and corruption.

It also warns of outbreaks of water-borne diseases if the problems are left unaddressed.

Thousands of people in the region were hospitalized last year due to stomach ailments and skin rashes blamed on the quality of the water. The crisis also led to violent protests and rioting in Iraq’s oil-exporting capital.”

China can neither win the war and backing down will aggravate the social problems they have. • Anger soars over vicious mob attack on Hong Kong protesters

Anger soared in Hong Kong on Monday over a vicious assault on pro-democracy protesters by suspected triad gangsters that left dozens wounded, a dramatic escalation of the political turmoil plaguing the Chinese city.

The financial hub’s roiling unrest took a dark turn late Sunday when gangs of men — most wearing white T-shirts and carrying bats, sticks and metal poles — set upon anti-government demonstrators as they returned from another huge march earlier that day.

Footage broadcast live on Facebook showed people screaming as the men beat multiple protesters and journalists in Yuen Long station and inside subway trains, leaving pools of blood on the floor.

Hospital authorities said 45 people were wounded in the attack, with one man in critical condition and five others with serious injuries.

BEIJING (Reuters) – Remarks by U.S. officials on China’s role in the South China Sea are slanderous, its foreign ministry said on Monday, after the United States voiced concern over reports of Chinese interference with oil and gas activities in the disputed waters.

China’s claims in the South China Sea, through which about $5 trillion in shipborne trade passes each year, are contested, all or in part, by Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.

On Saturday, the U.S. State Department said China’s repeated provocative actions aimed at the offshore oil and gas development of other claimant states threatened regional energy security and undermined the free and open Indo-Pacific energy market.

      Daniel Greenfield

How is it possible for any political movement to have so little self-awareness?

“A New Red Scare Is Reshaping Washington,” is the New York Times hit piece on the Committee on the Present Danger.

A new red scare has been reshaping D.C. for years as the Obama administration, loyalists in the DOJ, and elsewhere in the government, and, obviously the media, have been trading hysterical fact-free claims that Russia is secretly behind everything.

      Including every election.

But the dismissive term “red scare” makes it obvious that this isn’t about Russia. It’s about China. Whew.

Defence minister demands more funding as crisis over seized tanker deepens

The Royal Navy is too small to counter the potential threat from Iran, the defence minister has admitted.

Tobias Ellwood told The Times: “The threats we’re facing are changing in front of us, the world is getting more complex. If we are wanting to continue to play this influential role on the international stage it will require further funding for our armed forces, not least the Royal Navy. Our Royal Navy is too small to manage our interests across the globe.”

The news comes after it emerged that Tehran had ignored warnings from a British warship against seizing a UK-flagged tanker in the Gulf. The Stena Impero and her 23-strong crew are being held by Iranian forces after they were taken on Friday while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

“Hero or Villain: The Prosecution of Julian Assange”
    Published on July 22, 2019

Julian Assange is one of the most influential figures to emerge this century. The Australian born founder of WikiLeaks has harnessed the technology of the digital age to unleash an information war against governments and corporations.

WikiLeaks has collaborated with anonymous sources to release highly classified and often deeply embarrassing information to the world.

The organisation exploded onto the world stage in 2010 when it began publishing a series of spectacular leaks laying bare the conduct of the United States. At the centre of it all was Julian Assange.

The leaks sparked ferocious debate over the right to know and the right to keep secrets.

Now Julian Assange is in the fight of his life. In April this year he was dragged, protesting, from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, nearly seven years after seeking diplomatic protection.

He is facing extradition to the United States on espionage charges stemming from the spectacular 2010 leaks by Private Chelsea Manning.

Everyone has an opinion about Julian Assange, but now you will hear from those who have been on the inside.

Four Corners investigates the prosecution of Julian Assange in key interviews with those at the heart of WikiLeaks and those who have sought to bring him to US justice. These insider accounts give powerful insights into how these momentous events have unfolded.

“An Egyptian court has sentenced 11 people to life in prison on charges of joining the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.

Giza criminal court on Monday says the defendants all traveled abroad to fight for IS and receive military training.

Two other defendants got 15-year sentences, and another was given three years for the same charges. These include possessing weapons and plotting attacks against security forces and state institutions.

The verdicts can be appealed, and the court has dropped the charges against another defendant.

Egypt is battling its own Islamic State-led insurgency in the Sinai Peninsula. That fight intensified in 2013 after the military overthrew an elected but divisive Islamist president.

  14. The latest pathetic chapter in CNN’s quest to ‘prove’ Trump is a racist
By LU Staff July 22, 2019

As LU’s Howard Portnoy noted yesterday, the first of what are likely to be a rash of stories in which “a person of color claims that he was told by a person of pallor to go back where he came from” occurred over the weekend. The alleged victim, who has since altered her accusation, is a black Georgia state lawmaker named Erica Thomas, whose title instantly catapulted the story to national news status. The alleged perpetrator was a white man standing behind her in a grocery checkout.

Enter CNN, which is never slow to jump on liberal bandwagons. The network posted an “open casting call” to its Facebook page asking “immigrants” who have been victimized by Donald Trump or his policies to come forward and share their stories. The air quotes placed around the word immigrants are there to emphasize the distinction between actual immigrants (those who emigrate to the U.S. from other countries) and illegal aliens (those who sneak across the border), which is what CNN really has in mind.

  19. U.S. Officials: Iran-Allied Shiite Militias in Iraq ‘Extort and Terrorize’ Religious Minorities (breitbart, Jul 21, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/07/21/u-s-officials-iran-allied-shiite-militias-in-iraq-extort-and-terrorize-religious-minorities/

“Some factions of a Baghdad-sanctioned organization of mainly Iranian-backed Shiite militias are engaging in egregious violations such as torture, extrajudicial detentions, rape, extortion, and kidnappings in northern Iraq’s Nineveh province, where persecuted religious minorities like Christians are struggling to recover from the Islamic State atrocities, top U.S. officials said this week.

Kristina Arriaga, the vice-chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), cautioned on Tuesday that the organization known as the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), or Hashd al-Shaabi in Arabic, could “finish what ISIS started,” referring to the Sunni terrorist group’s efforts to annihilate religious minorities.

The comments from Arriaga came during the second Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, a three-day summit at the U.S. Department of State this week that began on July 16.

On the first day of the ministerial summit at State, Arriaga lambasted Baghdad’s support for the PMF, adding that the international community is ignoring the abuses by the Iran-allied group.

    Arriaga declared:

AT USCIRF, we do not feel we have a good partner in the Baghdad government. Baghdad has not been supporting genocide recovery efforts and has not been respectful of its international commitments. This is all while the international community turns a blind eye towards the PMF’s criminal behavior against religious minorities in Iraq. The PMF currently operates in ways that are not conducive to religious freedom. They hover over minority communities.

The vice-chair warned that an attack on religious minorities at the hands of the Shiite fighters could reverse the U.S. gains in favor of Christians, Yazidis, and other groups.

“Our [U.S.] government has received reports of numerous incidents of [PMF criminal behavior],” the Arriaga said. “If there’s a single attack on these minorities, these minorities will leave Iraq.

In some of its recent annual International Religious Freedom Report, the State Department condemned the PMF for abuses against religious minorities in Nineveh province, the historical homeland of Christians in Iraq that is also home to the largest concentration of religious minorities in the country.

Nineveh Plain, located in Nineveh province, is considered to be the cradle of Christianity.

During the second Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, a three-day summit at the U.S. State Department this week that began on July 16, Vice President Mike Pence declared on Thursday:

Of course, Iran’s leaders aren’t content to persecute only their own people. They routinely export terrorism and chaos to countries throughout the region, including its neighbor Iraq. To this day, Iranian-backed militias extort and terrorize the people of the Nineveh Plain, which is still recovering from the days of ISIS’s brutal reign.

The United States will not stand idly by while Iranian-backed militias spread terror.

Under U.S. President Donald Trump, the United States has devoted $340 million to help religious minorities in Iraq alone, particularly victims of ISIS’s genocide campaign, mainly Yazidis and Christians, but also Shabaks and Turkmen, all of whom reside in Nineveh.

Breitbart News learned from representatives from Christians and Yazidis that the Trump administration is bypassing Baghdad and the United Nations and directly providing aid to genocide victims through U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and faith-based partners. The religious minorities welcome the move, noting that Baghdad has diverted U.S. aid intended for them away towards other projects.

“The government of Baghdad must be treated like an international pariah until they stop funding the Iran-backed militias and support genocide recovery, we should be careful about any funding that goes through the central government,” Arriaga proclaimed.

“The Prime Minister of Iraq has mentioned publicly he wants to come to Washington, DC. He seems to be operating under the assumption that the United States does not care for his support of the PMF,” she added.

Although the PMF is predominantly made up of Shiite fighters, it also includes Sunni tribesmen, Kurdish fighters, and even some Christians. The U.S. has repeatedly described some PMF units — Kata’ib Hezbollah (KH) and Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq (AAH), accused of killing many U.S. troops between 2006 and 2011— as terrorist groups intent on pushing the U.S. troops out of the region in and around Iraq through any means necessary.

As they helped local forces and the U.S.-led coalition push Sunni ISIS out of their major stronghold in Iraq, however, Baghdad legalized the entire PMF as a component of the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF).

The Iraqi government has struggled to rein in the Shiite fighters ambition to expand their power, influence, and territorial control.

Suggesting that it does not believe Baghdad has full control of the PMF, the U.S. Department of State sanctioned the Harakat Hezbollah al Nujaba (HHN) unit as a terrorist group in March.

In May 2018, State accused a Shabak Shiite minority PMF unit of harassing and sexually assaulting Iraqi Christians who survived the recent genocide campaign by ISIS.

On Thursday, Pence announced that the United States has placed sanctions on two leaders PMF leaders, including a Shabak leader and a Christian chief over corruption and violations of religious freedoms and other human rights in Nineveh province, the historical homeland of followers of Christ and home to the largest concentration of minorities in Iraq.

The U.S. Treasury Department on Thursday identified the two PMF leaders, both allegedly guilty of “serious human rights abuses … in areas where persecuted religious communities are struggling to recover from the horrors inflicted on them by ISIS” as Rayan al-Kildani (Shabak) of the 50th Brigade militias unit and Waad Qado (Christian), the chief of the 30th Brigade wing.”

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday said that the United States will impose new sanctions on Chinese entity Zhuhai Zhenrong Ltd. and its chief executive Youmin Li for violating US restrictions on the import of Iranian crude oil.

“As part of that maximum pressure campaign, I am announcing that the United States is imposing sanctions on the Chinese entity Zhuhai Zhenrong and its chief executive Youmin Li,” Pompeo said in a speech…”

    Raymond Ibrahim

Raymond Ibrahim is a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz freedom Center.

Islamic jihadis recently gang-raped a 60-year-old Christian woman to triumphant cries of “Allahu Akbar!” before stoning her to death.

When no one in her small Christian village saw Susan Grigor (or “Gregory”) on July 9, in Idlib, Syria, the worried priest sent parishioners to search for her. They eventually found her mangled and bloodied corpse on the ground of a field adjacent to her home.

The autopsy revealed that Susan had been repeatedly raped and tortured over the course of nine hours before finally being murdered by stoning.

The men responsible for this heinous act are believed to be members of the al-Qaeda-linked jihadi group, al-Nusra (elements of which the Obama administration referred to and supported as “freedom fighters”).

No sane person could have witnessed the coronation this week of the new grand poobah of the European Union without recognizing just how utterly undemocratic – and dangerous – this institution is.

Her name is Ursula von der Leyen, a name that instantly communicates two important facts: (1) she is German; (2) she is a member of a hereditary elite.

To be sure, the “von” is courtesy of her husband, who belongs to an aristocratic family. But her own blood also runs blue. In addition to having a tony Teutonic lineage – she was born into the patrician Albrecht clan – she’s descended from a couple of the biggest slave traders in the American South. Her grandfather, Carl Albrecht, was a psychologist famous for his studies of “mystical consciousness.” Her father, Ernst Albrecht, was one of the very first bureaucrats to tread the corridors of power in what would later become the European Union

Raised in Belgium, von der Leyen studied in Germany and Britain, and lived for a while in the U.S., along the way picking up degrees in economics and public health and also becoming a gynecologist. But she eventually settled on politics, hitching her wagon to Angela Merkel and climbing the ladder of power in Germany, getting herself elected to the Bundestag and serving in turn as Minister of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth; Minister of Labor and Social Affairs; and Minister of Defense. In the last-named position, she didn’t exactly cover herself in glory: as President Trump has pointed out, Germany has consistently failed to pull its weight in NATO; British journalist Andrew Neil recently referred to her as a “failed” Defense Minister and as “the second most unpopular politician in Germany.”

  23. Democrats and Republicans Passed An Immigration Bill
    But it went largely unreported.
    July 22, 2019
    Michael Cutler

It has been my contention, for many years, that contrary to the lies spewed in the mainstream media that the immigration system is broken while, in reality, the immigration system is not broken, but has become the most efficient delivery system in the United States rivaling Fed-Ex and UPS combined.

What the immigration system delivers is a virtually unlimited supply of cheap and exploitable labor, an unlimited supply of foreign tourists, of foreign students and, for the immigration lawyers, an unlimited supply of clients for immigration law firms.

This was the underlying premise to my article, Sanctuary Country – Immigration failures by design.

This past month, most of the coverage about the Congress focused on the war of words between President Trump and the Democrats, particularly the venomous and frequently Anti-Semitic statements spewed by “The Squad” that consists of four first-term female members of Congress, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan.

A virtual mantra has been created that the reason we have an immigration crisis is because the Democrats will not work with the Republicans (or visa versa).

I write about politics. And politics is ultimately about people. But politics is ultimately knowable. People aren’t.

Sometimes it’s obvious what’s wrong with someone. Other times, all you can say is that something is wrong. I don’t understand what. I can’t quite say what.

But something is wrong with Joe Biden.

  25. India: Police arrest 16 Muslims, foil jihad attacks and plot to “establish Islamic rule in India”
    JUL 22, 2019 8:00 AM BY CHRISTINE DOUGLASS-WILLIAMS 5 COMMENTS
Police in India have foiled a plot to “establish Islamic rule” in India. 16 suspects were arrested and taken into custody; they were plotting a jihad attack in the country. They were reported to adhere to the “ideologies of Al Qaeda, Islamic State and Students Islamic Movement of India.”

In a statement by the National Investigation Agency:

Accused persons have been actively recruiting individuals to strike terror in India and have also been routinely posting videos and other jihadi propaganda material exhorting their supporters to conduct terrorist attacks using various methods including the use of explosives, poison, knives and vehicles, as means of attack.

    • Key Mueller Witness Indicted On Child Sex-Trafficking Charges

George Nader, a Lebanese-American businessman who was a key witness in the special counsel’s probe, was charged earlier in July with transporting a 14-year-old European boy to the U.S. for sex, according to an indictment unsealed Friday.

Nader was charged on three counts, including a charge for possessing child pornography and one for traveling with a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity. He is accused of transporting the teenage boy from Europe to his home in the U.S. in 2000.

    • Insider: ‘Contagion Numbers’ of Elites Exposed as Jeffrey Epstein’s Clients Will Be ‘Staggering’

The information is expected to be released within days.

The shoe is about the drop on prominent Democratic Party donor Jeffrey Epstein’s child sex trafficking operation that is widely suspected to implicate some of the most famous and prestigious people in the world, and insiders are claiming that the revelations will not disappoint.

“There were other business associates of Mr. Epstein’s who engaged in improper sexual misconduct at one or more of his homes. We do know that,” said Brad Edwards, attorney for alleged victim Courtney Wild. “In due time the names are going to start coming out.”

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit is expected to release 2,000 documents from the civil suit against Epstein within days. The three-judge panel claims that the documents are likely to expose the involvement of “numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known prime minister, and other world leaders” in Epstein’s illicit operation.

It’s Going to Be Staggering, the Amount of Names”: As the Jeffrey Epstein Case Grows More Grotesque, Manhattan and DC Brace for Impact

The disgraced financier “collected people,” said a source. Could some of them be implicated in his crimes? Meanwhile, Alan Dershowitz (“He’s a bad person”) and David Boies (“He’s a liar”) are already at war over the case

The Jeffrey Epstein case is an asteroid poised to strike the elite world in which he moved. No one can yet say precisely how large it is. But as the number of women who’ve accused the financier (at least, that’s what he claimed to be) of sexual assault grows to grotesque levels—there are said to be more than 50 women who are potential victims—a wave of panic is rippling through Manhattan, DC, and Palm Beach, as Epstein’s former friends and associates rush to distance themselves, while gossiping about who might be ensnared. Donald Trump’s labor secretary, Alexander Acosta, architect of the original 2007 non-prosecution agreement that let Epstein off with a wrist slap, has already been forced to resign.

The questions about Epstein are metastasizing much faster than they can be answered: Who knew what about Epstein’s alleged abuse? How, and from whom, did Epstein get his supposed $500 million fortune? Why did Acosta grant Epstein an outrageously lenient non-prosecution agreement? (And what does it mean that Acosta was reportedly told Epstein “belonged to intelligence”?) But among the most pressing queries is which other famous people might be exposed for committing sex crimes. “There were other business associates of Mr. Epstein’s who engaged in improper sexual misconduct at one or more of his homes. We do know that,” said Brad Edwards, a lawyer for Courtney Wild, one of the Epstein accusers who gave emotional testimony at Epstein’s bail hearing. “In due time the names are going to start coming out.” (Attorneys for Epstein did not respond to a request for comment.)

  29. MUST READ: Vladimir Putin Discusses Russian Interference in US Election and the Attempted Coup d’état with Oliver Stone

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently sat down for an interview with far left Hollywood producer Oliver Stone.

The transcript for the interview was posted on the Kremlin website.

Most of the liberal mainstream media is covering the part of the interview where Oliver Stone asked Putin to be the godfather of his grandson. The Democrat Pravda media is ignoring the rest.

Robert Wenzel posted part of the transcript on his website.

You can make up your own mind on this interview.
But it really is amazing that he is more believable in this video than the liberal mainstream media has been in the past three years!

Here is this amazing dialogue on the US elections.
Oliver Stone: Yes. So recently, you know Russia has been obviously accused and accused over and over again of interference in the 2016 election. As far as I know there is no proof, it has not turned up. But now in the US there has been an investigation going on about Ukraine’s interference in the election. It seems that it was a very confusing situation, and Poroshenko seems to have been very strongly pro-Clinton, anti-Trump.
Vladimir Putin: Yes, this is no secret.

  30. Justice Dept. Watchdog Has Evidence Comey Probed Trump, on the Sly
    By Paul Sperry, RealClearInvestigations
    July 22, 2019
It is one of the most enduring and consequential mysteries of the Trump-Russia investigation: Why did former FBI Director James Comey refuse to say publicly what he was telling President Trump in private — that Trump was not the target of an ongoing probe?

That refusal ignited a chain of events that has consumed Washington for more than two years – including Comey’s firing by Trump, the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and ongoing claims that Trump obstructed justice.

The report of Inspector General Michael Horowitz is expected in September. Top photo: Then FBI Director James Comey shakes hands with the new President on Jan. 22, 2017.

Now an answer is emerging. Sources tell RealClearInvestigations that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz will soon file a report with evidence indicating that Comey was misleading the president. Even as he repeatedly assured Trump that he was not a target, the former director was secretly trying to build a conspiracy case against the president, while at times acting as an investigative agent.
