Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

      Freezing its collective ass off in Eastern Siberia is Mir, the world’s biggest open-pit diamond mine. At 1,722 ft. [525 meters] in depth, it’s among the world’s top four deepest open-pit deposits. Discovered in 1955, this particular gate of hell has a curious restriction: The mine’s airspace is closed due to helicopters being sucked in by downdrafts.

      A particularly large specimen of S-type asteroid if properly lassoed and hogtied down south in Earth’s lower forty has the potential of containing enough ore to produce more platinum than has ever been mined in all of human history.

      • The precious metals market will crash, it will be like the discovery of the Americas and the vast amounts of Gold and Silver. The drop in precious metal prices may (probably will) all any government who has brains enough to acquire enough Gold, Silver and Platinum to back their currencies with precious metals.

        I am also looking forward to a massive influx of new technology as there is massive investments into upgrading the Space Vehicles and Habitats. This is also occurring at the time when the world is facing a major war and the very real possibility of one or more pandemics over the next few decades.

    A report prepared for the French National Assembly has revealed dangerous vulnerabilities of French government agencies to radical Islam, Le Figaro reports.

    Areas such as sport, police, transport, education, health, justice and prisons were investigated by MPs Éric Diard of the conservative Republicans and Éric Poulliat of President Emmanuel Macron’s La République En Marche! (LREM) as they questioned people about Islamic radicalisation.

    The parliamentarians claim to have discovered that about 1,500 extremists registered with law enforcement either currently are, or have at some point been employed in a socially significant service. At the same time, investigators note the lack of proper control over radical sentiment among police officers, health workers, students and people in the sphere of sports.

    According to the publication, to date, 21,039 people are on file as under surveillance as part of a programme to prevent terrorism, with 10,092 of them actively monitored. At the same time, more than 1,500 of these people “are or were representatives of one or several professions that can be classified as “vulnerable ”, either because of the nature of the activity (land and air transport, private security services), or because of interaction with people”.

    Although the report paints an encouraging picture regarding the work being carried out on monitoring radical sentiment among employees filling the ranks of state security services and law enforcement agencies, the situation is different with municipal police services and private security companies.

    According to the authors of the study, control within these structures is less strict, despite the fact that these are people entrusted with weapons and responsible for security.

    “Vigilance is needed here, especially since the hiring of thousands of private security officers is coming on the eve of the Paris Olympic Games of 2024,” the document says.

    The concerned parliamentarians propose strengthening control mechanisms and creating an “inspection corps” for the municipal police.

    The authors of the report also warned of the the absence of a developed policy to prevent and detect extremist attitudes within the health services. To remedy this, they suggest employing “radicalisation advisers” within these departments.

    The report also cites Paris Police Prefet Michel Delpuech, who complains about the absence of any protocol for interaction between the intelligence department of the Paris police prefecture and university representatives.

    According to him, there is manifest hesitation within the university environment with regard to notifying police about extremist sentiments – so far, not a single signal from Parisian universities has been received from the intelligence department.

    The authors of the report paid special attention to extremist sentiments within the sports environment, where radical Islamism tends to manifest itself in various forms – from collective prayers in locker rooms (including during competitions) to the requirements of using only halal food.

    Some sports clubs do not allow women to train or do not allow them to train at the same time as men.

    “The Federation of Martial Arts even asked its technical director to take religious holidays into account when scheduling competitions,” the report say.

    As the parliamentarians note, in the coaching environment radical sentiment is especially dangerous given the influence the trainers are able to exert on the younger generation.

    France has the largest number of Muslims in the Western world primarily due to migration from North African and Middle Eastern countries. A 2017 Pew Research report documented the Muslim population at 5,720,000 or 8.8% of the total population. Islam is the second-most widely professed religion in France behind Catholic Christianity by number of worshippers.”

    • On June 21, Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-Va.) introduced the Empowering Law Enforcement for Safer Firearm Transfers Act to give local law enforcement authority to block the sale or transfer of weapons regulated under the National Firearms Act, a list that includes short-barrel rifles and shotguns, machine guns, and gun silencers.

      Originally enacted in 1934, the NFA requires certain firearms to be registered with the Secretary of the Treasury through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. People who want an item covered by the act must pass a background check, pay a $200 tax, and notify the chief law enforcement officer, or CLEO, of the jurisdiction where they live.

      The requirement that the CLEO approve or deny all transfers was removed in 2016 after NFA background check requirements expanded and “placed an undue compliance burden on law enforcement,” according to Wexton’s office.

      Wexton’s bill would reintroduce the CLEO by imposing a 90-day window for the officer to block a transfer or sale if they determine the applicant poses a danger to themselves or others, or if there is a “reasonable likelihood” that they intend to use the weapon for non-lawful purposes.

    “The captain of a migrant-loaded German aid ship which rammed an Italian border force boat has been arrested.

    An extraordinary standoff between the two vessels off the coast of the Mediterranean’s Lampedusa island was broken when Captain Carola Rackete, 31, plowed into the smaller motorboat which was blocking her ship from port.

    Two weeks earlier, Ms Rackete and her crew rescued 40 migrants and had requested permission to drop them off on the tiny Italian-owned island.

    But the country’s anti-migrant interior minister Matteo Salvini refused to let them disembark on Lampedusa until other European Union countries agreed to take in the asylum-seekers

    Five countries offered on Friday to take in the migrants, but still without any disembarkation permission from the Italian government, the Dutch-flagged Sea-Watch 3 steered towards the Lampedusa’s dock before dawn this morning.

    Ms Rackete’s rescue ship smacked into the much smaller motorboat from the border protection force and steamed towards the land.

    The joyful migrants hugged the crew and kissed the dock upon arrival, after 17 days at sea.

    Ms Rackete was immediately taken into custody and Mr Salvini condemned her action’s as ‘incredible’.

    He told RAI state radio: ‘I have asked for the arrest of an outlaw who put at risk’ the lives of the border police on the motorboat.’

    He added that he also asked authorities to sequester the ship, ‘which goes around the Mediterranean breaking laws’.

    The German humanitarian group Sea-Watch rescued 53 people from an unseaworthy boat launched by Libya-based traffickers on June 12. In recent days, 13 migrants were taken off Sea-Watch 3 for medical reasons and taken to Italy for treatment.

    Sea-Watch defended the captain’s actions, as did Italian opposition politicians who had gone aboard a few days earlier in a show of solidarity to the migrants.

    In a statement it said: ‘She enforced the rights of the rescued people to be disembarked to a place of safety.’

    Democratic Party politician Graziano Delrio told reporters after disembarking that Italian judicial authorities will ultimately decide if Ms Rackete broke the law.

    He likened her actions to that of a driver of a Red Cross ambulance ‘which goes through a red light’ to speed ailing patients to a hospital.

    As Mr Salvini has done since Italy’s populist government took office a year ago, he had insisted that no migrants disembark in Italy from a humanitarian rescue ship until other EU countries pledge to accept them while their asylum requests are processed.

    On Friday, Italy’s foreign ministry said five countries had offered to take the remaining 40 on board Sea-Watch 3 – Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Portugal.

    Mr Salvini contends that humanitarian rescue vessels essentially aid Libyan-based traffickers who launch flimsy rubber dinghies and rickety fishing boats overcrowded with migrants, many of them from Africa, eager to reach European shores in hope of a better life.”

      Forty migrants disembarked the Sea-Watch 3 rescue ship in the Italian port of Lampedusa on Saturday, after being rescued off the coast of Libya earlier in June.

      The vessel initially carried 53 migrants. The first 13 had already been allowed to disembark by Italian authorities due to health issues.

      Vessel captain Carola Rackete was earlier arrested for refusing to obey a military vessel, after bringing the ship into port without permission, a crime reportedly punishable up to 10 years in prison.

      LAMPEDUSA, Italy: Sea-Watch 3 captain Carola Rackete may be a “pain in the neck” for Italy’s anti-immigration interior minister but she is a hero to dozens of migrants rescued from an uncertain fate at sea.

      The polar researcher-turned rescue vessel skipper was arrested Saturday (Jun 29) for docking without permission at an Italian port, despite threats of jail time, with a shipload of desperate migrants.

      The dreadlocked 31-year-old offered no resistance as she was escorted from the Sea-Watch 3 without handcuffs to applause from supporters gathered pierside, but shouts of “Handcuff her!”, “Shame!” and “Get lost!” from locals.

      Born in the German city of Kiel on Germany’s Baltic coast, Rackete studied nautical science and conservation management.

      Tanned and at home in a tank top, Rackete is a specialist in Arctic and Antarctic polar research and a sailor for the past eight years,

      “I’ve always really loved polar zones because they are very beautiful and inspiring. But working there is sometimes sad because you see directly what humans are doing to the planet,” she has said.

      FROM ARCTIC INTO THE FIRE

      From her concern for the environment was born a social commitment which moved Rackete to spend spare time away from working on ice-breakers to volunteer missions in the Mediterranean with German NGO Sea-Watch.

      Rackete’s first mission came in the summer of 2016, when Italian and European military ships still viewed the flotilla of humanitarian vessels as key support in the rescue of repeated waves of migrants from Libya.

      That swiftly brought home the scale of the human drama for Rackete, with rescuers often finding just a handful of survivors aboard the rickety vessels in which they had escaped, surrounded by the corpses of those who had perished.

      They would encounter many a stranded child desperate for affection after losing a parent, and hear many stories of torture from the fleeing migrants.

      Over time, the navy vessels became fewer and fewer, leaving their humanitarian counterparts in the front line.

      “READ TO GO TO JAIL”

      For Rackete, there is a principle at stake.

      “It doesn’t matter how you end up in distress. Firefighters don’t care about that, hospitals don’t. Maritime law doesn’t.

      “If you need to be rescued, everyone has the right to come to your aid,” is how she sees it.

      At sea, “rescue ends when people reach a safe place.”

      The battle is also a political one.

      “We Europeans have allowed our governments to construct a wall at sea. There is a civil society fighting against that and I am a part of it,” Rackete has said.

      The captain insists she is scrupulously complying with maritime law and stresses that “I am ready to go to jail for that and defend myself in court if I have to because what we are doing is just.”

      Salvini had been calling loudly for her arrest, describing her as a “pain in the neck” and adding that “those who flout the rules must be held accountable.

      He added that “the captain of Sea-Watch (is) playing politics on immigrants’ backs, funded by I don’t know who.”

      Amid these comments and a slew of social media insults hurled at Rackete there are also many offering support.

      Senator Gregorio De Falco, a former coastguard officer who has publicly backed Sea Watch as having the right to dock in Italy, saluted her as “a person of high moral dignity who shows considerable strength and coherence in the face of her responsibilities.”

      Supporters have raised more than €320,000 (US$350,000) since Wednesday towards the potential legal costs of “Captain Carola.”

    “A refugee who was given $98,000 to relocate from Nauru to Cambodia has slammed the Australian government because he claims the money wasn’t enough to cover his living costs.

    Abdullah Zalghani fled Syria with his wife and children in 2013 and after spending time in Lebanon.

    He left his wife and four children behind and tried to reach Australia by boat but was stopped and detained in Nauru.

    Mr Zalghani agreed to be resettled in Cambodia in 2016 where his family joined him.

    They were given a total $60,000 alongside another $38,000 from the International Organisation for Migration.

    But Mr Zalghani said the money was not enough to cover the annual cost of education and health insurance for his four children as well as the debts he incurred while in detention.

    Mr Zalghani said to the ABC that the Australian Government had rowed back on their promise to provide local schooling and health insurance for his children for up to five years.

    ‘It’s difficult here — my kids cannot go to school,’ Mr Zalghani told the ABC.

    The costs of private schools in Phnom Penh, where Mr Zalghani has settled, range in price from a few hundred dollars per year for a child to tens of thousands of dollars.

    Mr Zalghani said the schools he was looking charged around $2,8000 a year per child, while health insurance for his whole family would cost around $7,000 annually.

    The total cost for education and health insurance for his family and children would be $79,800.

    The Department of Home Affairs said in a statement that Mr Zalghani was provided with a lump sum of money to pay for schooling and health insurance for his children.

    ‘It was emphasised to Mr Zalghani that it was his responsibility to use the lump sum to cover his family’s health, education and other expenses as he saw fit,’ the spokesperson said.

    ‘Mr Zalghani acknowledged this would be the last payment, and that he and his family were settled and established in Cambodia.’ “

    A video currently circulating on social networks shows the arrest of a man allegedly trying to rape a little girl in Kassel. Witnesses were able to prevent this and detain the perpetrator until the police arrived. According to Johannes Huber MdB (AfD), the perpetrator was apparently released after interrogation.

    District chief Fazeluddin Muradi says that the insurgents’ attack also wounded at least eight pro-government fighters, during several hours of battle late Friday in the area of Nahrin.

    A police official, who was not authorized to speak on the issue, confirmed the high death toll.

    Taliban did not immediately claim the attack, but recently the militant group has stepped up its offensive against Afghan security forces.

    The U.S. is opening Saturday in Qatar a fresh round of peace talks with the militants to end the country’s long-running civil war.”

    Ahmed al-Mosmari, an LNA spokesman, said Friday that Libyan territory had “come under illegitimate Turkish aggression” during the battle for Tripoli in recent weeks.

    He said forces have been ordered to target any Turkish ships, strategic sites or companies operating in Libya or its territorial waters.

    He said any Turkish nationals in Libya will be arrested.

    The LNA, led by army commander Khalifa Hifter, controls much of the country’s east and south.

    Armed groups loyal to the U.N.-supported government reclaimed earlier this week the town of Gharyan, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Tripoli, pushing back Hifter’s forces.”

The report suggests this may be the tip of the iceberg, and RVI may downplaying the threat in an effort to avoid fuelling anti-immigration sentiments. Is the federal institute using PC to conceal the unpleasant reality. Surgeon Carsten Boos has warned the German authorities have lost hundreds of migrants who may be infected. he added 40 percent of the pathogens are multi drug- resistant and inherently dangerous to the general population.

  13. Tlaib, constituents want to see ‘direct payment’ of slavery reparations

    Rep. Rashida Tlaib said she supports any form of reparations for slavery, but noted her constituents particularly would like to see “direct payment.”

    No surprise there. Of course, Democrats want to hand out free money in an attempt to buy votes.

    Tlaib (D-MI) was being interviewed by political correspondent, Nicholas Ballasy, regarding House Resolution 40, a bill recently resubmitted earlier this year by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), which would create a ‘reparations commission.’

    The text of the resolution, co-sponsored by Tlaib and 54 other Democrats, states that it would “establish a commission to study and consider a national apology and proposal for reparations for the institution of slavery.”

      • The left is using inherited guilt to push for repartitions, they think we are too stupid to know this is the excuse the Nazi’s used to carry out the Holocaust. We are not responsible for our ancestors actions, and when those actions ended over 150 years ago our families can’t be fined for those actions. Make no mistake the whole ideas of repartitions is fining people (with crippling fines) for the actions of our ancestors.

        This action will bankrupt the West and help create the chaos the left thinks it can ride into total power around the world.

    Carrying signs like the one depicted above is an ugly practice. So are chants like “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon.” Expressing anti-police sentiment dates back to the 1970s, but it was during the Obama years that antipathy toward our men and women in blue reached unprecedented heights. The investigations of major metropolitan police departments by the Obama Justice Department fed the rabid anti-cop mentality, especially within the black community. Police sitting in patrol cars became easy targets of assassins.

    While the signs and chants have not been welcome, they have always been anonymous — up until now. Earlier this week, t-shirts featuring the image of St. Louis County Police Officer Michael Langsdorf went on sale on Facebook with the caption “1 down, many to go.”

    Langsdorf was killed last Sunday during an attempt to arrest Bonette Kymbrelle Meeks, who had been accused of passing of a bad check. During a struggle, Meeks managed to get hold of the officer’s service weapon and shot him in the back of the neck at point blank range as he lay prone on the floor.

    Langsdorf, a family man, had been on the force for three months. Meeks has a lengthy criminal history that includes seven drug convictions.

    Danish headmaster faces a right-wing backlash after a video of schoolchildren being taught how Muslim’s pray hits the internet.

    A Danish headmaster has received hate mail, after a video emerged on a Danish anti-migrant website.

    In the footage, a Muslim boy can be seen teaching his fellow pupils how he prays.

    The principal said his school was holding a ‘get to know your classmate’ week, aimed at promoting friendship and mutual understanding.

    The German government has lost track of scores of Germans who travelled to Iraq and Syria in recent years to join the Islamic State (IS). The revelation comes amid growing fears that some of these fighters are returning to Germany undetected by authorities.

    The German Interior Ministry, in response to a question from the Secretary General of the classical liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP), Linda Teuteberg, revealed that German authorities lack information on the whereabouts of at least 160 Germans who left to fight with the IS, according to Welt am Sonntag. The ministry said that while some had probably been killed in combat, others have gone into hiding and may be trying to resettle in Germany.

    “In view of the very fragmented protection of the EU’s external borders, it is particularly worrying that the federal government appears to have taken no further measures to prevent the uncontrolled re-entry of underground IS fighters,” Teuteberg told Welt am Sonntag. She added that the government “still has no concept” for dealing with former IS fighters from Germany, including “Germans detained in the war zone as well as the more than 200 former IS supporters who are now back in Germany.”

    Teuteberg said that the Interior Ministry should come up with a plan for how to deal with IS returnees and how to hold them accountable, by, for example, strengthening the legal capacity to investigate and prosecute war crimes abroad.

    As for the restrictions against the Revolutionary Guards, which the US previously classified as a ‘terrorist group’, Zonnour highlighted that the organisation has already been sanctioned repeatedly, saying that “imposing sanctions on IRGC commanders once again is totally useless.”

    Zonnour’s remarks followed the official announcement by the European Union late Friday that the European financial settlement mechanism known as INSTEX aimed at bypassing the tough US sanctions against Iran had become operational, with Iran’s envoy on the nuclear deal soon confirming that the system was working and transactions are already taking place.

    “France, Germany and the United Kingdom informed participants that INSTEX had been made operational and available to all EU Member States and that the first transactions are being processed,” the EU said in a statement.

    Together with the instrument, which some EU countries are joining as shareholders, Iran has set up a legal entity to facilitate trade with Europe, the statement said.

    INSTEX, which stands for ‘Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges’, is a payments system allowing countries and companies to get around US Iran-related secondary sanctions by allowing for goods and services to be exchanged without the direct transfer of money between Iranian and EU companies. Instead, the mechanism promises to coordinate import and export payments by creating a virtual ledger to offset balances. The mechanism is expected to focus first and foremost on medical goods, agriculture and pharmaceuticals, items which were also targeted as part of the Trump administration’s policy of “maximum pressure.”

    US officials had previously dismissed INSTEX, saying the mechanism was not commercially viable. Earlier this week, US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook said he was “very doubtful” that the system would even “be able to actually conduct transactions.”

    On Friday, Hook warned that Iran’s oil sector would continue to be sanctioned, saying that no waivers to sanctions had been put in place and that the US would “sanction any illicit purchases of Iranian crude oil.” China reportedly defied the US warning, with an Iranian oil tanker docking at a chemical complex outside Beijing earlier in the week, with more tankers expected to make their way to the country in the coming weeks. China’s foreign ministry said Friday that it “rejects” the US policy of unilateral sanctions and would “not support US policy on bringing Iran’s oil exports to zero.”…”

    Sweden has been plagued with housing shortages in recent years, with the capital of Stockholm seeing a record 636,000 people on the housing queue and only 85 vacant properties in December last year.

    However, on the darker side of agriculture in Morocco lies a massive network dedicated to the production of one substance in particular: cannabis.

    Morocco has gained an international reputation for cannabis production, with an entire industry dedicated towards “drug tourism” having recently developed, especially in cities throughout the Rif region, where a majority of the country’s cannabis is grown.

    The kingdom has also become notorious for its substantial hashish production, which at one point fueled over 70% of European consumption of the substance and continues to be the largest producer of hashish in the world.

    Meanwhile, this notoriety has been confirmed by a new report released by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), which confirmed that Morocco remains the world’s largest producer of cannabis, producing over three times more than the next highest contender, the European country Moldova.

    Additionally, the report revealed that cannabis production in the country continues to grow, with the production of cannabis herbs increasing from 35,653 tons in 2016 to 35,703 tons in 2017.

    However, in reality, this number is even higher, as these figures do not include the production of resin and other forms of cannabis.

    In an attempt to mitigate this growth, Moroccan authorities have continued to place heavy pressure on the illicit drug trade since the government announced in 2018 that it would be placing more focus on combating the drug trade.

    Last year, Morocco announced the implementation of “a multi-dimensional national strategy to fight illegal drugs and is determined to place civil society in the forefront of this national strategy.”

    This week on June 23, police seized over 600 kilograms of cannabis resin near Zagora in southern Morocco, arresting two suspects as a result.

    Earlier this month, on June 12, nearly 13 tons of the substance were seized in Nador, as well.

    In addition to making strides in combating the trade of cannabis, the government has been working towards countering the distribution of other drugs, such as cocaine and various psychotropic substances.

    On June 16, police in Agadir seized 100 grams of cocaine and over 31,000 psychotropic tablets, leading to three arrests of individuals involved in the trade of these substances.

    Mustapha El Khalfi, Morocco’s government spokesperson, announced that more than 107,000 people were prosecuted for drug crimes in 2017, and this number is expected to increase as the implementation of the government’s new strategy becomes fully realized in the coming years.”

    “Pakistan on Saturday rejected the report issued by the US Department of State on International Religious Freedom and termed the observations of the report ‘biased’ and ‘unsubstantiated’.

    A statement issued by the Foreign Office (FO) said that Pakistan did not support reports that made observations on the internal affairs of sovereign states.

    “Pakistan is a multi-religious, multi-cultural and pluralistic society where people of different faiths are living together. Their contributions to society add to its richness and diversity. Their rights are guaranteed under the Constitution of Pakistan. These constitutional guarantees are underwritten by a vigilant judiciary that has demonstrated resolve to protect the fundamental rights – including religious freedoms – in recent high profile cases,” the statement said.

    The statement highlighted the implementation of the “National Action Plan on Human Rights” for which a total of Rs750 million have been allocated.

    Dismissing the findings of the report, the Foreign Office said that Pakistan has always played a positive role and has engaged the international community including the US with a view to having better and mutual understanding about the issue of religious freedoms.

    Pakistan, it said, was of the view that all countries were obliged to promote religious harmony and have a duty to protect their citizens in accordance with national laws and international norms.

    The Foreign Office termed the report discriminatory saying that the report ignored the systematic persecution of minorities, particularly Muslims, in India, who were subjected to alien domination and foreign occupation such as in the occupied Kashmir.

    Pakistan has often raised its own concerns internationally regarding the growing trend of Islamophobia in western countries.

    The statement added that Pakistan would continue to be part of global efforts to combat religious intolerance, discrimination based on religion and belief and Islamophobia through different platforms including the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).”

    “The militants have killed or wounded at least 27 civilians during an attack in northern Baghlan province.

    The Ministry of Interior in a statement said the Taliban militants attacked local civilians in Arakosh district on Friday night and killed 25 people.

    The statement further added that the Taliban militants also wounded two others during the attack.

    Local officials had earlier said the Taliban militants have killed or wounded 40 members of the public uprising forces in Nahrin district.

    A senior official in Nahrin district confirmed that the Taliban militants killed 24 members of public uprising forces during the attack.

    Furthermore, the Taliban militants wounded 9 other members of the public uprising forces, the official added.

    Meanwhile, another official in Nahrin said the Taliban militants have killed at least 30 members of the public uprising forces.”
