Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

      • This is how it was under communism…

I came here to get away from it, but it has followed me here.

So, where do I go now?

        • Unless the scientists develp the ships to take us to other planets there isn’t any place to run, we are fighting for the survival of freedom and if we lose freedom dies.

A few months ago a British female reporter/opinion person (I am having a senior and can’t remember her name or find it) said that the Whites in Europe are doing the same thing the Whites are moving to defensible positions for the last stand. I don’t think it will be a last stand I think we will end up winning the fight. It won’t be easy and it won’t be quick but in the end we will win . But WE HAVE TO FIGHT we have to get the idea of moving to get away from the left, WE HAVE TO FIGHT. Start thinking about fighting instead of running, there is no place to run to.

          • Use the model of traditional American White Flight and then load it up with a trillion rounds of ammunition.

            See where that takes you.

  3. Outrage Over VIDEO of Muslim Prayer in Danish School Not Intended for Public Eye (sputniknews, Jun 27, 2019)

“In the controversial video, pupils chant “Allahu Akbar” (“Allah is greater”) and kneel to the ground under the supervision of a female teacher who gives clear instructions about how this is done.

A video of Danish children being trained how to perform a Muslim prayer has gone viral in Denmark, triggering strong reactions from politicians and ordinary Danes.

In the video, a boy of African descent dressed in Muslim clothes demonstrates the Islamic prayer to a group of predominantly ethnically Danish peers. Then, he is interrupted by the teacher who instructs the kids to say “Allahu Akbar”, whereupon the entire class kneels in prayer.

While the video was not dated, Danish TV2 later found out that the prayer took place at Thyregod School in Velje municipality in southern Jutland in November 2018.

The video was not intended to reach the public light. A Sudanese mother of a third-grader filmed the group of pupils and their teacher, despite being specifically instructed not to do so, only to later upload it to the internet.

“She was explicitly told this was not allowed. If she were to take pictures, it should only be of her own son”, school principal Gert Hougaard told TV2.

On, the website that discovered the video, and on social media, the reactions were devastating, with many calling for the teacher and the entire school leadership to resign.

“The teacher should be fired with a kick in the ass”, one reader suggested. “And if it doesn’t happen, close down the school”, another chimed in.

Many labelled Thyregod School a “Quran school” and suggested it was “indoctrinating” Danish schoolchildren.

The Danish People’s Party’s Martin Henriksen, who has recently been appointed the head of the party’s new committee to bolster its national conservative profile, sent a written request to the school, asking for an explanation why the children should be taught the religious ways of Islam. Henriksen is very dissatisfied with the answer he has received from headmaster Gert Hougaard.

“Hougaard has not responded whether he intends to pursue this practice, and he has referred to the curriculum on the subject of Christianity”, Henriksen told the news outlet Den Korte Avis. According to Henriksen, the education focuses on introducing the main ideas and basic concepts of religions in Denmark and across the world.

Henriksen wants to have an explanation from the school management whether they also intend to teach about Islam’s “dark sides and widespread fundamentalism”, as well as massive religious and social control.

In conclusion, Henriksen also asked whether the school management had received the parents’ consent for the Muslim prayer. The last question was whether the Muslim students are taught the Lord’s Prayer.

The school itself has received many angry e-mails, headmaster Gert Hougaard admitted, saying he has “never experienced anything like this”.

According to him, the Muslim prayer occurred in connection with a thematic week called “Know your life”, during which the children were shown different ways of living. Hougaard explained that the teacher had his “full support”. The school board stressed it has full confidence in all the employees, yet suggested a tightening of filming regulations.

Islam in Denmark is the country’s largest minority religion. According to a 2018 estimate, over 300.000 people or 5.3 percent of the Danish population are Muslim.”

  4. Dresden Prosecution Detains Bosnian Citizen Over Involvement in Paris 2015 Attacks (sputniknews, Jun 27, 2019)

“The Dresden prosecution said in a statement it had detained a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina who was suspected of being involved in the terrorist attacks that hit Paris in 2015.

The German federal police office and Dresden prosecutors said in a joint statement that the 39-year-old suspect was detained on the night of 19-20 June on a European arrest warrant issued by the Belgian authorities.

He is accused “of abetting a terrorist organisation linked to the terror attacks, including on the Bataclan concert hall, on 13 November 2015 in Paris”.

The suspect, who was not named, attracted the attention of Saxony-Anhalt law enforcement over involvement in an arms smuggling case. According to the Dresden prosecution, the man is already wanted in Belgium under a European arrest warrant over involvement in terrorist activities and the attacks that struck Paris in 2015.

The suspect is currently in detention and the state prosecution of Saxony-Anhalt is working on his extradition to Belgium.

Paris and its suburb of Saint-Denis suffered several coordinated attacks on 13 November 2015. Several mass shootings and bombings at the Stade de France stadium, cafes, restaurants and the Bataclan concert hall claimed the lives of 130 people and injured over 400 others.

  5. Teenager stabbed to death in west London in latest knife murder (telegraph,Jun 27, 2019)

“A teenager has been stabbed to death in west London.

The victim, believed to be aged 18, was found with a stab injury in Uxbridge Road, Shepherd’s Bush, on Wednesday night.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called at about 9.20pm, along with paramedics and the London Air Ambulance.

Despite the efforts of medics, the teenager died at the scene a short time later.

It is the latest in a series of violent incidents in the capital, which saw five killings in six days earlier this month.

A murder investigation has been launched and police are working to track down those involved…”

  6. Rising Crime, Cost of Living Blamed for Record Exodus of Londoners from City (breitbart, Jun 27, 2019)

“A record number of Londoners fled the capital in 2018, new internal migration figures reveal, with an economist blaming the exodus on violent crime and the cost of living.

An Office for National Statistics study of internal migration — not including figures of migrants coming from outside the UK — published Wednesday found that more than 340,000 residents left London to move to other regions. The rise represents the highest number since the ONS began collecting these statistics seven years ago.

In the year to June 2018, 340,498 Londoners left the city while just 237,270 migrated inwards from the rest of the country, representing a net loss of 103,228. The numbers join a growing trend, with 336,000 Londoners leaving in 2017, with both figures notably higher than the first recorded internal migration figures in 2012, when 255,140 people left.

Reasons for Londoners moving elsewhere, with the most popular destination being the south-east of England, include wanting to live in a cleaner environment, cheaper homes, and better schools, but also, as Christopher Snowdon, head of lifestyle economics at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), noted, to get away from London’s violent crime.

While saying that property prices were “a big deal” and a contributing factor, he added in comments reported by The Times: “Obviously people also want a better quality of life. But they also want access to good schools, to live in rural areas and to get away from the stabbings.”

According to the House of Commons library, in the period of 2017 to 2018, 168 knife offences were committed per 100,000 people in London, the highest proportion in England and Wales. In April, the ONS revealed that knife crime was at its highest since records began, with knife crime at its highest anywhere in the country in London.

One Wednesday night, an 18-year-old man was stabbed to death in West London, and is the latest victim in a series of homicides with the city seeing five killings in six days earlier in June. After the city had faced three murders in just a 24-hour period, U.S. President Donald J Trump weighed in and condemned London’s mayor Sadiq Khan for losing control of the capital, calling Mr Khan a “disaster”.

The violence has become so extraordinary in the city, that media reported on Wednesday a stabbing attack against a donkey that had been retired after 20 years of giving children rides around Blackheath. The 28-year-old donkey had been found bloodied in his paddock in south-east London on Friday after having been stabbed three times. He was taken to a veterinarian for treatment and is recovering. The animal’s owner believes he may have been targeted as part of a “sickening” gang initiation.

However, while internal migration is at a net negative in London, external immigration — foreigners coming to London for the first time from outside the UK — and London birthrates have been on the rise. The ONS notes that “four local authorities with the fastest-growing population were all in central London”: Tower Hamlets, Camden, Westminster, and the City. The report adds that a “cluster of central London boroughs hav[e] the highest levels of net international migration in the year to mid-2018”.

London’s population, currently at 9.1 million, is set to hit the 10 million mark by 2029. The growth is being driven by immigration with around 172,000 international immigrants arriving in the capital annually. The rate of arrivals for just London annually is higher than the failed 100,000 target for the whole country the governing Conservative Party promised voters in three consecutive elections.

The ONS figures also revealed that across the United Kingdom, immigration grew the population to 66.4 million, while births fell two per cent to a 12-year low of 744,000.”

  7. Inappropriate Sexual Relationships Continue to Plague Pro-Migrant NGOs (breitbart, Jun 26, 2019)

“Inappropriate sexual relationships between older pro-migrant activists and young migrants continue to plague NGOs with a recent case in Switzerland adding to the list of incidents.

The recent trial of a Swiss man in his 60s in Lausanne saw a migrant claim that he had been engaged in a sexual relationship with the older pro-migrant activist when he was a teen in 2008, newspaper 20 Minutes reports.

The older man was said to have worked with Amnesty International at the time of the sexual relationship, which he later admitted to saying they had engaged in sexual touching.

When recently confronted by 20 Minutes, a spokesman said the organisation was not aware of the case and said the man is no longer employed by Amnesty International but insisted the group had rules that prohibited such sexual relations.

The case is just one in a long line of others involving pro-migrant activists sexually engaging with migrants, some of whom have been underage.

Only a year after the height of the migrant crisis in 2015, it was revealed that activists in the former Calais Jungle migrant camp in France had engaged in a form of sex tourism, exploiting young migrants living in the makeshift camp.

“I have heard of boys, believed to be under the age of consent, having sex with volunteers. I have heard stories of men using the prostitutes in the Jungle too,” one volunteer wrote on social media.

“I have heard of volunteers having sex with multiple partners in one day, only to carry on in the same vein the following day. And I know also, that I’m only hearing a small part of a wider scale of abuse,” they added.

Sex abuse of migrants has also allegedly occurred in Greece where the U.S.-based charity Mercy Corps, which has received donations from left-wing billionaire George Soros, was under investigation by Greek authorities in 2017.

NGOs working overseas have also seen several scandals relating to the sexual abuse of children including the founder of the Italian NGO Mama Africa who was the subject of an investigation earlier this year and the charity Oxfam which had its UK funding cut last year following the “sex for aid” scandal.”

  8. Vatican: Immigrants Are ‘Compelled to Abandon Their Countries’ (breitbart, Jun 27, 2019)

“The head of the Vatican delegation to the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said Wednesday migrants do not leave their countries “out of free choice” but are compelled to do so.

At a FAO conference in Rome on the topic of “Migration, Agriculture and Rural Development,” Monsignor Fernando Chica Arellano said that migrants “are not figures or mere statistics, but rather people afflicted by pain and bitterness.”

“They are human beings like us, but who find themselves compelled to abandon their countries and their homes to flee from poverty, conflicts, persecution, and the harmful effects of climate change and natural disasters,” Msgr. Arellano said.

“They leave not out of free choice, but rather they are moved by discouragement and desperation, often dictated by the impossibility of obtaining that daily bread that is an integral part of the fundamental right to life,” he added.

The monsignor said that it is essential to promote development in poorer countries so that their citizens do not experience the need to emigrate, while stressing that it would be an “error” to think about development “simply as a useful tool to reduce migration,” when “in reality it is an undeniable right of every human being.”

He also insisted that immigrants provide a valuable contribution to their host countries, echoing Pope Francis’ views on the question.

Immigrants employed in the agri-food sector of many developed countries “play a crucial role in the business value chain,” the Vatican representative asserted.

“In this context, the frequent and very numerous testimonies of immigrants victims of illegal hiring who are not guaranteed the most basic and fundamental rights, and who forced to accept inhuman working conditions that offend their dignity, are troubling,” he said.

Pope Francis has endeavored to counter a negative narrative on mass migration, especially in countries that have been on the receiving end of immigration, calling for a shift in priorities and mentality.

In a 2018 message to a conference on international migration, Francis said that “a change in mindset” was needed to challenge prevailing views toward migration.

“We must move from considering others as threats to our comfort to valuing them as persons whose life experience and values can contribute greatly to the enrichment of our society,” the pontiff said.

“For this to happen, our basic approach must be to encounter the other, to welcome, to know and to acknowledge him or her,” he said.”

  9. Dalai Lama: Europe Will Become ‘Muslim’ if Migrants Allowed to Stay (breitbart, Jun 27, 2019)

“The Dalai Lama insisted Wednesday that “Europe is for Europeans,” warning that if too many migrants are allowed to stay, the continent could become “Muslim” or “African.”

The Buddhist spiritual leader, who has been living as a refugee in India since fleeing Tibet in 1959, told the BBC that only a “limited number” of migrants should be permitted to reside in Europe.

The 83-year-old said Europe should take in refugees and offer them an education, but then send them back to their homelands.

“European countries should take these refugees and give them education and training, then the aim is return to their own land,” he said.

The BBC host asked what should happen if migrants want to stay in their adopted countries, to which the Dalai Lama replied:

“A limited number is OK, but whole Europe eventually become Muslim country? Impossible. Or African country? Also impossible.”

Asked what was wrong with the scenario of Europe becoming Muslim or African, he said: “They themselves I think better to their own land. Keep Europe for Europeans.”

This was not the first time the Tibetan leader has voiced these opinions. In a speech last year in Malmo, Sweden, the Dalai Lama reiterated that migrants should not stay in Europe but should return to help rebuild their own countries.

“Receive them, help them, educate them, but ultimately they should develop their own country,” he said at the time. “I think Europe belongs to the Europeans.””

    • Dalai Lama: Europe Will Become ‘Muslim’ if Migrants Allowed to Stay

Notice how Buddhism’s über-tolerant spiritual leader is talking about what happens, “if Migrants Allowed to Stay”?

NOT, if MORE migrants get to arrive, but whether they are allowed to stay.

The longer this goes unaddressed, the MORE Muslims that will remain permanently to settle all over Europe … in mass graves.

Survivors of this newly-arriving holocaust had best be scrimping and saving up all of their welfare cheques for a trip to Bumfuck, Egypt because sticking around will be the best way of getting a dose of post-Easter Colombo Cleanup-style Western hospitality.

However insanely reprehensible the Shoa was—and it most definitely was—it’s not like any EU Muslims will be able to put up much more of a fight than did the WWII European Jews. After all, this time around there won’t be any concerned Western nations lifting a fucking finger about stopping it.

And even if they do lift a collective finger, it most likely will be the rigid digit. As always, Islams makes too many enemies too fast. This nuclear age makes that old equation A LOT LESS survivable tenable.

  10. Sweden Police Call For Criminalisation of Possession of Terror Propaganda (breitbart, Jun 27, 2019)

“The chief of the Swedish Security Police (Säpo) has demanded the government look at tabling laws to criminalise the possession of terrorist propaganda.

Säpo head Klas Friberg argued that not only do police regularly find propaganda in the possession of terror suspects and extremist recruiters but that some of the material also gives instructions on how to carry out terrorist acts, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.

According to Friberg, in nearly ever counter terrorist case “we find films and pictures with extremely serious acts of violence and executions. The material is produced to recruit supporters or to reinforce the conviction of sympathisers preparing acts of violence.”

Friberg highlighted a case in 2016 of two Gothenburg men who were convicted for terrorist offences while in the Middle East, saying that the best evidence in the case came from a film depicting the two men demonstrating decapitation techniques.

If the police were able to arrest those in possession of such materials, Friberg argued, it would give the Swedish justice system greater ability to prosecute radicalised people on the national terror watchlist.

He also argued that banning the possession and viewing of such material, with laws similar to those around child pornography, could also lead to a decrease in radicalisation.

Currently, Sweden’s laws surrounding even membership in a terrorist group are lacking, according to experts like Magnus Ranstorp who said earlier this year that the country should emulate the laws of neighbouring Norway where Islamic State members are prosecuted upon their return to the country.

Since the fall of the Islamic State “caliphate” in Syria and Iraq, some Swedish members of the terror group have returned to the country but many, including other Muslims, are fearful of what they may do upon their return.

A troubling report from February of this year alleged that returning members of the terror group in the southern city of Malmö had even been engaged in recruitment in underground mosques.”

  11. Suicide bomber targeting police rocks Tunis; 5 hurt (abcnews, Jun 27, 2019)

“A suicide bomber targeting a police patrol has struck a busy commercial street in central Tunis, injuring at least five people including two officers.

Tunisia’s interior ministry says the attacker detonated explosives near the French embassy shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday. Radio Mosaique reported a second explosion soon afterward in the parking lot of the government anti-terrorism agency.

Tunisia has been struck repeatedly by terror attacks. In October a female suicide bomber struck the city center, killing only herself.”

  13. Syrian to Be Deported After Attacking Danish Anti-Islamisation Politician (breitbart, Jun 27, 2019)

“An asylum seeker from Syria has been sentenced to 60 days in prison followed by a deportation order for hitting anti-Islamisation campaigner Rasmus Paludan in the head with a rock.

The 24-year-old Syrian will be banned from re-entering Denmark for six years following his conviction in the case earlier this week, Danish broadcaster TV2 reports.

The attack which sparked the case occurred on April 19th when Mr Paludan held a demonstration in the city of Viborg.

Paludan, a staunch anti-Islamisation campaigner and leader of the Hard Line political party, has become well-known in Denmark for his controversial and provocative street actions, some of which have seen copies of the Islamic Quran burnt.

Three people were arrested at the demonstration in Viborg after the situation turned violent. So far, the 24-year-old is the only one of the three to have been tried and prosecuted for attacking Paludan.

Prosecutor Linette Lysgaard said she was satisfied with the result of the trial saying: “He was guilty of the whole thing. He admits that he has thrown a stone at Rasmus Paludan, which hit Paludan in the neck.”

The Syrian has put forward an appeal to the deportation order but has not appealed the guilty conviction for the assault.

The incident in Viborg came only days after another in Copenhagen in which Paludan sparked riots after throwing around a copy of the Quran before police forced him to leave for his own safety. Twenty-three people were arrested following the riots that required the deployment of police in riot gear and the use of tear gas.

While several polls that were taken before the Danish election predicted that Hard Line may enter the Danish parliament, the party came in just under the election threshold of two per cent, securing 1.9 per cent of the vote.”

  14. Europe grants Iran trade loophole as Tehran prepares to breach nuclear deal (thenational, Jun 27, 2019)

“European states are to announce their biggest commitment yet to keeping the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal alive through a cash injection into a new platform for trade with Iran even as Tehran is set to breach enrichment limits in the pact.

The last-gasp effort to provide credit to the Instex trade organisation is set to be greeted by dismay in Tehran, which has seen oil sales and other exports plunge under sanctions imposed by the United States after withdrawing from the nuclear deal last year.

The funding announcement at a meeting of the supervisory commission of the remaining members of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Friday in Vienna is expected to be made by Federica Mogherini, the EU’s foreign affairs commissioner.

Instex is a body established and sponsored by Britain, France and Germany. The Paris-based organisation has a mandate to barter essential goods with Iran under a legal shelter from the US sanctions.

The European countries maintain that the US sanctions are extra-territorial and have invoked a law that European compliance with the measures is illegal. That has not been enough to prevent dozens of European businesses from pulling out of Iran, prioritising access to the US market.

Mrs Mogherini trailed the announcement earlier this week when she said Instex had completed its set-up phase. “I believe that this is now ready for being operational and I hope this is something that can help keeping Iran compliance with the agreement as it has been so far,” she said.

The Vienna meeting has loomed as a key date on the calendar since Iran gave notice it was ready to raise uranium output beyond the set limits, in effect killing the deal following the US withdrawal.

Europeans have resisted US efforts, spearheaded by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to assemble an international coalition against Iran.

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said the bloc would stick to a diplomacy-first policy. “The strategy of maximum pressure can’t be the right one, because one of the consequences is that we are all talking about how serious the situation is, and that there is a danger of war,” he said.

“This is the time for diplomacy,” he added. “We have to ensure that these tensions are reduced, because otherwise any event without it being clear who caused it – could lead to … a spiral of violence that ends in a war.”

While Jeremy Hunt, the UK foreign secretary, said Britain was listening to the US arguments, he added London was concerned about the situation, which has seen Iran implicated in a series destabilising attacks around the region.

His comments were echoed in Dubai by Liam Fox, the international trade secretary, who broke ground on the British pavilion for the 2020 World Expo.

“We want to de-escalate the situation but we are of course extremely worried,” Mr Fox said. “One of my ministerial colleagues was in Iran this week. We want to find a way to de-escalate the tension before the matters worsen from where they are today.”

“I think it is the best way forward for the regional security, and the economic stability.”

Brian Hook, Washington’s Iran envoy, was in Paris on Thursday to reiteriate his call for joint action.

The G20 Summit in Japan is also expected to see talks about how to cope with the Iranian threat to the region and how to safeguard the oil trade under pressure at the Straits of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman. Speaking from Japan, President Emmanuel Macron said he was trying to play the role of mediator to ease the tensions.

“There is no brief war,” Mr Macron warned. “We know when it’s starting, but not when it’s finishing.”

Iran has said it is prepared to break the 300kg limit for low-enriched uranium stockpiles. Officials said it had been adding to its stores at a rate of 1kg every 24 hours and was on course to breach its limits over the weekend. Iran has further signalled it will up the enrichment levels of its uranium output beyond the 3.67 per cent limit…”

“FRA took part a roundtable discussion on combatting anti-Muslim hatred and discrimination and a workshop on synergies and good practices on tackling anti-Muslim racism and discrimination.

Both meetings were co-organised by the European Commission coordinator on anti-Muslim hatred and the Spanish Labour Ministry. They took place on 24 and 25 June in Madrid.

FRA spoke about the anti-Muslim hatred database update, and FRA’s work concerning hate crime reporting and related technical assistance building on best practices and consultation with public authorities and civil society organisations.”

“The Database 2012-2017 on anti-Muslim hatred provides information on significant international, European and national case law and rulings, UN human rights body decisions, reports, findings by human rights and equality bodies and organisations relating to hate crime, hate speech and discrimination against Muslims, as well as relevant research, reports, studies, data and statistics on these issues. 16. ‘YOU WILL BURN’ Sick ISIS supporters threaten to bomb London and New York and attack a plane in chilling terror posters

SICK ISIS supporters have threatened to bomb London and New York and attack a plane in a series of chilling posters.

The terror fanatics shared an image of Big Ben in London’s Palace of Westminster exploding in flames, with a caption saying: “Coming soon”.

Richard: The video may be the terror attack but with the explosives found in London and Paris we can’t take that chance.

    • The terror fanatics shared an image of Big Ben in London’s Palace of Westminster exploding in flames, with a caption saying: “Coming soon”.

All of which leads a body to speculate about the ummah’s self-deportation.

In the best of worlds, Muslims would voluntarily repatriate themselves to their ancestral lands, and then sit down, keep calm, and pour themselves a tall, cool, foamy, refreshing glass of shut the fuck up.

Be that as it may, there emerges some niggling complications after a few more Notre Dames, Sri Lankas, and then, perhaps, the aforementioned (and misidentified) pesky Great Clock of Westminster. plus several other running-around-loose Christopher Wrens to boot.

Please imagine the following scenario: A vicious and endlessly antagonistic neighborhood bully is cornered by an out-of-town, linebacker relative of some local and—in front of the assembled community—proceeds to snap enough bones in that asshole’s body to qualify the prick as a freak show contortionist.

Now, ponder upon in what sort of a panicked rush the spectators would be to dial 911. Why, it might take days, if they ever did at all. If fact, it really doesn’t need to be some distant, footballer, relative who does the dirty work. It merely requires one concerned stranger passing through town who just happens to have a CCP (Concealed Carry Permit).

That outsider might still blow away the sum bitch out of sheer principal and nary a nine nor one would get speed-dialed.

And, as Old Bill would say, “Therein lies the rub.” What if some or the other various and sundry nation with a few spare nukes laying about (amongst the many that are nearing their “best by” date anyway) decides, “Enough of this bullshit!” and simply hits the Big Red Button™ if only because they’re sick and bloody tired of watching treasure after priceless historic legacy being hosed down by cretinous Muslims?

Let’s all face it, if the Bamiyan Buddahs, Twin Towers, and Notre Dame weren’t all irreplaceable artifacts of NON-ISLAMIC human greatness, what in the hell kind of eternal treasure needs be incinerated before decisive action is taken?

Of course, Muslims cannot tolerate the merest notion that someone else planted a NON-JIHADIST flag on the flapping moon (where the flags don’t flap, ever), even if it means vandalizing every last vestige of Western civilization in the process.

And, as Norman Voles of Gravesend would say on that Monty Python game show, “This is where my claim falls to the ground.” After all, where are all of these enthusiastically self-deporting Muslims going to shuffle themselves off to? As a famously anonymous wag once said:

After a while, Muslims are going feel rather silly bowing down five times a day to a plain of hot smoking glass.

Whither necessarily departing arse-lifters (if they want to live, that is) when all of their homelands are 24 hour, glow-in-the-dark car parks? What then, when every last square inch of those Islamic shitholes has been glassed and Windexed™ by an enraged global community endlessly fed up with Islam’s perpetual Crimes Against Humanity?

This is the hidden Muslim holocaust that ABSOLUTELY NO-FUCKING-BODY wants to talk about. If the Muslim Middle East is rendered uninhabitable, where in the hell are Muslims going to deport themselves to. Once again, it is incumbent upon the West to try and save an increasingly worthless Muslim population from themselves.

What then when Westerners get to the point where they simply wash their hands of this farce and deem it far less morally taxing to wipe Islam from the face of this green Earth? Whither Muslims then?

      Short answer? Graveyards

      Long answer? Cemeteries

Admittedly or not, Muslims are literally burning their bridges and potentially stranding their “tiny minorities”—like the usual beached-social-benefit-whales that they are—in all Western societies. According to everybody’s existing Plan A (even including the Ikhwan’s own scheme of things), all Muslims will end up DEAD.

Most crucially, it won’t be Western powers that are responsible for Islam’s annihilation. Recalcitrant Muslims will bring death and existential destruction upon themselves, as ever they have.

      Pauvre petite.

  17. Reviews are in: Ocasio-Cortez’s acting debut on the border in Tornillo, Texas
    By J.E. Dyer June 26, 2019

I’m not much for these pointless pile-ons, but the latest batch of photos chronicling the life and times of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is just … beyond ridiculous.

A photographer who followed Ocasio-Cortez in 2018 to “visit” a migrant children’s holding facility in Tornillo, Texas posted the photos on Tuesday. The mere sight of them is enough to verify that they’re absurd. They purport to show Ocasio-Cortez reacting to the spectacle of – well, it isn’t actually clear, but the implication is that it’s children being held in detention.

  18. Elizabeth Warren says she’ll decriminalize crossing the border
Henry Rogers, Daily Caller June 27, 2019

[Ed. – She reiterated this during last night’s debate.]

Elizabeth Warren Says She’ll Decriminalize Crossing The Border

Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren said Tuesday she would be in favor of decriminalizing illegal crossing of the U.S. border, the latest call for open borders by a 2020 presidential candidate.

Warren joins former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama and 2020 presidential candidate Julián Castro, who also believes immigration courts should be the only ones with legal control over immigration enforcement at the border, according to HuffPost.

“I agree with Secretary Castro,” Warren said in a statement to HuffPost. “We should not be criminalizing mamas and babies trying to flee violence at home or trying to build a better future. We must pass comprehensive immigration reform that is in line with our values, creates a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants including our DREAMers, and protects our borders.”

  19. Arab, Russian, and Pakistani Protesters Learn the Lessons of 2011

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Demonstrators in Sudan, Algeria, and nations beyond the Middle East such as Pakistan and Russia are applying lessons learned from the 2011 popular Arab revolts as the Sudanese military uses an apparent Saudi-United Arab Emirates template to crack down.

The recent crackdown in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum, in which some 100 people were reportedly killed and hundreds wounded, bears all the hallmarks of the Saudi-UAE assisted repression of a 2011 revolt in Bahrain.

The deaths have also sparked comparisons to a crackdown on protesters on a Cairo square in 2013 by Saudi-UAE-backed general-turned president Abdel Fattah Sisi that left up to 1,000 people dead.

The crackdown in Sudan, despite an apology from Lieut. Gen. Abdel Fattah Burhan, the head of Sudan’s Transitional Military Council (TMC), involved – as it did in Bahrain – not only the shooting of protesters but also attacks on hospitals treating the wounded and the beating and assault of medical staff.

General Burhan and the TMC took power in April after months of protests forced Omar al-Bashir to resign the presidency after 26 years in office.

Moon of Alabama –Media And Public Disagree On Tulsi Gabbard’s Debate Performance

The mainstream media seem to judge the Democratic primary debate last night quite differently than the general public.

Quartz cites multiple polls which show that Tulsi Gabbard won the debate:

[T]wo candidates seemed to pique a lot of interest among US voters, at least when judged by who Americans searched for on Google: New Jersey senator Cory Booker and Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.
A poll by the right-leaning Drudge Report also found Gabbard to be the breakout of the debate with 38% of the vote, well ahead of Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren in second place. Gabbard also topped polls by local news sites including and the Washington Examiner.

Now contrast that with the mainstream media.

The Washington Post discusses winners and losers of the debate and puts Gabbard in the second category:

Gabbard was lost for much of the debate. That may not have been her fault — she wasn’t asked many questions — ….

The New York Times main piece about the debate mentions Gabbard only once – in paragraph 32 of the 45 paragraphs long piece. It does not reveal anything about her actual political position:

There was little discussion of foreign policy until near the end of the debate when two little-known House lawmakers, Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii and Tim Ryan of Ohio, clashed over how aggressively to target the Taliban.
The New York Times also has some ‘experts’ discussing winners and losers. Gabbard is only mentioned at the very end, and by a Republican pollster, as a potential candidate for Secretary of Defense.

CNN also discusses winners and losers. Gabbard is not mentioned at all.

NBC News ranks the candidates’ performance. It puts Gabbard on place 8 and inserts a snide:

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii: Seized an opportunity to highlight her military experience in Afghanistan and her signature anti-intervention foreign policy views, without being tainted by her past sympathetic comments on Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.
Most of the above media have long avoided to mention Gabbard and to discuss her political positions. It is quite evident that the mainstream media do not like her anti-regime-change views and are afraid of even writing about them.

Tulsi Gabbard’s campaign posted a video of her parts of the debate. She received some good applause.

    • zero hedge – Twitter To Censor Trump Tweets Ahead Of 2020 Election

Twitter announced on Thursday that it would censor President Trump’s tweets going into the 2020 election by “down-ranking” those which violate their rules via algorithms.

Offensive material from the POTUS will also receive a label that applies to all verified political candidates and government officials with over 100,000 followers, according to the Washington Post.

Before users can view the language in newly flagged tweets, they will need to click on a screen that says, “The Twitter Rules about abusive behavior apply to this Tweet. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain available.”

The company also said it will set up a special team tasked with enforcing the policy, and the notification label would appear only on rare occasions. -Washington Post

Twitter will deprioritize the labeled tweets so that they would be seen by fewer people according to the report, which adds that the policy will go into effect immediately and will not apply to other influencers and leaders. It is also not retroactive.

“In the past, we’ve allowed certain Tweets that violated our rules to remain on Twitter because they were in the public’s interest, but it wasn’t clear when and how we made those determinations,” the company wrote in a Thursday blog post. “To fix that, we’re introducing a new notice that will provide additional clarity in these situations, and sharing more on when and why we’ll use it.”

  21. Swedish Police Secretly Arresting and Deporting Foreign Extremists (breitbart, Jun 27, 2019)

“The Swedish security police (Säpo) have used a recently passed law to secretly arrest and deport a number of foreign extremists, according to a report.

Säpo has allegedly kept foreign extremists from both the radical Islamist scene and the far-right neo-Nazi scene in prison for months before putting them on flights back to their home countries under a veil of secrecy, Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reports.

The secret deportations fall under the scope of the Act on Special Alien Control (LSU) which allows the security police to expel any foreigner deemed to be a national security threat or if it is feared they may take part in terrorist activity.

A source close to the deportations spoke to Aftonbladet saying: “During the spring, several people who have been classified as extremists left the country completely under the radar.”

The paper examined three such expulsions done under the LSU including a 39-year-old citizen of both Italy and Ukraine, a neo-Nazi, who was suspected of war crimes, genocide, and other crimes against humanity.

The case against him had been closed but he was placed into custody in February of last year and held for over a year before being secretly deported back to Ukraine.

The two other cases involved Islamic extremists including 53-year-old Mounir Dhari who had been convicted of plotting a terror attack on Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. Dhari remains in detention since being arrested at the end of 2018.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Säpo had used the LSU to arrest three radical imams including Imam Abo Raad who now faces expulsion after the Swedish Migration Board agreed to his deportation earlier this month.

Sweden has seen a rise in the number of Islamic extremists in recent years with Swedish researcher Peder Hyllengren of the Swedish Defence College claiming last year that the country had become an international base for jihadism and extremist networks.”

Police and other emergency services personnel have arrived at the Pontanézen area in the French city of Brest after a shooting not far from the mosque took place on Thursday, France 3 reported.

    • Shooting at French mosque injures famous imam in Brest

A well-known and controversial imam and one other person were wounded in the attack on the Sunna mosque in Brest on the French Atlantic Coast. The gunman was later found dead.

Several shots were heard in front of the Sunna mosque in Brest on Thursday afternoon and two people, including the imam Rachid Eljay, were injured.

Prosecutor Jean-Philippe Recappe said the gunman opened fire as people left the mosque in the city’s Pontanezen neighborhood.

Both of the injured men were taken to the hospital and were later said to be “doing OK,” according to police.

After firing at the two men, the gunman fled the scene in a Renault Clio car that was found by police in a nearby neighborhood shortly afterward. The body of the assailant was found with a gunshot wound to the head close to the vehicle.

The police search was then called off as investigators believe the assailant acted alone.

According to the local newspaper Le Telegramme, the suspect claimed responsibility for the attack on Facebook. The targeted imam has a large following on the site.

      An imam’s change of name

Eljay was previously known under the name of Rachid Abou Houdeyfa and made a series of controversial statements and online videos.

He first came to prominence in 2015 while France was confronting a series of terror attacks. The imam’s strong, Salafist-inspired statements dated to 2012 and in one video he was seen telling children who liked listening to music that “Allah would change them into pigs or monkeys.” His YouTube channel at the time had 68,000 followers.

In April 2016, then-President Francois Hollande said on television that the Brest mosque had been closed and Imam Rachid Abu Houdeyfa was being prosecuted. However, this was later found to be inaccurate. On Facebook, the imam responded to Hollande’s accusations saying: “The imam of Brest has never committed any criminal offense, he has never broken any law, or been indicted because of his speeches — unlike many other people.” He has reportedly received death threats from the “Islamic State” group.

While the mosque and the imam’s home had been raided, no legal proceedings ensued and the imam has continued his activities and as of Thursday had over a million likes on his Facebook page.

    • RT – 2 wounded in shooting outside of mosque in Brest, northwestern France

A gunman opened fire near a mosque in the French city of Brest, leaving two people injured. He was later found dead. There is no information whether the shooter targeted the mosque specifically.

Brest Prosecutor Jean-Philippe Recappe said the gunman opened fire as people were leaving the mosque in the city’s Pontanezen neigborhood.

According to local media, one of those shot was the controversial Imam Rachid Abou Houdeyfa. Having once been a proponent of ultra-CONSERVATIVE Islam, he became a so-called ‘Republic-compatible’ leader in 2016, helping the French government to train Muslims to “comply with the rules of secularism and living together with the French.”

A man got out of a car in front of the mosque and quarreled with another individual, then fired six or seven shots from a handgun before driving off, local media reported.

Police launched a manhunt for the attacker, who was later found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, AFP reported citing an unnamed police source.

France’s Minister of the Interior Christophe Castaner wrote on Twitter that extra security measures were being put in place at places of worship in response to the incident.

“Allah would change them into pigs or monkeys.”

    • French mosque attaquer sent this letter before taking action

I am sending you this message to protect the life of my family and mine. First of all, let me introduce myself, my name is Karl Foyer, I am 21 years old, living in Lyon [French City] since about 3 years.

I am a simple person, without any problem with an ordinary life. I have worked in multiple fields. I have been a busser, a kitchen assistant, a delivery guy an order packer. My last job was cleaning person.

Thursday 18th April around 11:30 PM, while I was coming back home after my job shift, a black van was parked next to the spot where I’m used to park. I had never seen it before. As soon as I closed the door of my car, the sliding-door of the van was opening then 3 hooded men went out, they forced me to get into the van. I was terrified. Once inside, they dazzled me with a flashlight and force me to sit down to the ground. Then, one of the men started telling personal informations about my life, that only me could know, informations on my family that none else could know. Its at this moment I knew I was facing very serious people. Once they made me understand they knew the adress and very confidential information on me and my family, they ordered me to slit the throat of the Brest Imam Rachid Eljay, and to push a french flag in his anus. He said I had to do it between 15th of June and 30th. I asked why this man, what he did, and he punched my stomach as an answer. He said that if I didnt kill him, it would be my mother, my father my sister and me who would be killed. Then he put a note in my pocket on which was written “Brest Imam Rachid Eljay, 15-30 june, French flag anus, knife throat”.

I have no information on these persons besides they were 4 I think but I’m not sure, and that one of the men received a phonecall, the name displayed was Patrick Calvar, beside this I know nothing else.

It must be a powerful mafia that use me to kill one of their enemies. He also told me that they would know if I went to the police and that it would be useless anyway. I guess they must have relations with the cops. Just before getting me out of the van, they implanted me a kind of microchip in the arm.

I have to kill him, if I do not do it they will kil my family. Concerning myself, I guess they will kill me anyway, I know too much, they wouldnt take the risk to let me live, that’s why I am sending you this message, if the medias and the internet are aware of this story, then maybe I have a chance to stay alive. They wouldnt take the risk to kill me if everyone was aware.

I am sincerely sorry for the relatives of Rachid Eljay, I have no choice, either I kill him or my familly and myself would be killed. Thanks for publishing et sharing this message, my life relies on it!

I am writing this message just before taking the action. After the action, I will try to extract the microchip and to hide as long as possible. If they find me quickly tell to my mother that I love her.

    • Mystery surrounds shooting of imam in France

Suspected assailant, found dead after non-fatal attack, had claimed masked men ordered him to do it

Investigators are examining the troubled background of a man believed to have shot a French imam who had received threats from both ISIS and ultra-right extremists.

Rachid Eljay, 39, was seriously wounded in the abdomen and legs when shot four times in the port of Brest, in the western region of Brittany, on Thursday.

His life and that of a 26-year-old worshipper who was also shot are not in danger. The killer had approached them outside the mosque in the Pontanezen district on the pretext of wanting a “selfie” with the imam.

A 21-year-old French man believed to have carried out the attack was later found dead 500 metres from his car in another part of Brest. He had apparently shot himself in the head.

Named in French reports and on social media as Karl Foyer, he had sent a rambling two-page letter to another imam, also posting its contents on Facebook, claiming to have been ordered to murder Mr Eljay by three masked men who forced him into a van. Foyer wrote that the men warned him they would kill his parents and sister if he did not obey their instructions.

Mr Eljay has been a controversial figure for several years.

Previously known for adopting “non-jihadist Salafism”, he took over at the mosque in place of an imam whose radical preachings led to his expulsion to his native Algeria.

The religious newspaper La Croix recalled a 2015 video showing the self-taught preacher, then calling himself Rachid Abou Houdeyfa, telling children music was a “creature of the devil” and that listening to it would turn them into monkeys or pigs.

In one sermon, Mr Eljay said the hijab was a “woman’s honour”. If she “goes out without honour”, he added, “do not be surprised that men abuse this woman”.

More recently, however, he has shown a fundamental change in his outlook and a desire to teach Islam in a secular French context. He obtained a diploma qualifying him to “provide civic and citizenship training”.

The French Muslim Council said the imam’s public comments, espousing French republican values, had brought him a death threat from ISIS in 2016.

Romain Caillet, a specialist in contemporary Salafism, said Mr Eljay was detested as fiercely by ultra-right elements.

Mr Caillet posted a tweet at the end of 2017 with a series of photographs tracing Mr Eljay’s conversion to a more moderate stance by reference to his appearance. In the last, from his graduation, he wears western-style clothing indistinguishable from that of other students

“Today, he advocates a practice of Islam that is not out at odds with his environment, his beard is becoming shorter and his style of clothing has changed,” Mr Caillet told the newspaper 20 Minutes.

In a tweet, he strongly criticised sections of the media that continued to associate the preacher with views he no longer held, “helping to make him a target”.

The suspected killer was Paris-born but had been living in the eastern city of Lyon for three years and drifted from one lowly job to another, according to his letter. The council of mosques covering that area of France has deplored what it sees as a relative political and media silence over the imam’s shooting.

In fact, French news media, print and broadcast, have reported fully on the attack while pointing out that the public prosecutor has ruled out, on the facts as known, any terrorist connection.

According to the French interior ministry, the number of anti-Muslim incidents in France fell from 121 in 2017 to 100 last year. Muslim lobby groups challenge the statistics, which they say are distorted by a reluctance to report attacks, and say the reality indicates a significant rise.

After early speculation that the killer may have had extreme right-wing connections, a police source told media he was unknown to the security services and was not linked to any right-wing or Islamist group.

His letter also mentioned a retired French intelligence chief who, according to him, had been in contact with one of the three men who accosted him.

But prosecutors and police are more inclined to believe he was a deranged individual acting on his own initiative.

  26. Richard: Read the entire article and think about what it says, this is putting a new twist in the struggle between the US and the CCP. It is also putting the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in the cat bird seat. China is in big trouble.

The Massive ‘Pig Ebola’ Epidemic Will Give Trump Big Leverage In His Trade Standoff With China

Our advice to President Trump ahead of the next stage in the U.S.-China trade talks is encapsulated in a Chinese proverb: “Patience is a bitter plant, but its fruit is sweet.”

The threat to food availability and security from Chinese pig Ebola and fall armyworm will prevent China from aggressively using tariffs as an offensive weapon against the U.S. over the coming year. Just as the poor structure of China’s leveraged economy necessitates that they return to the negotiating table with the U.S. ?— the largest buyer of its goods ?— food insecurity in China will oblige them to put aside their main retaliatory tool and start earnestly negotiating with the U.S.

President Trump needs to both recognize his leverage in these trade talks and have the confidence that China’s primary source of counter-leverage has a short expiration date.

The structural state of China’s economy is in peril after a decade of reckless credit growth. Following the great financial crisis, the Chinese government pursued economic growth at all costs, which has left them with high financial leverage and bad debts. As a result, China’s U.S. dollar shortage has become acute. These structural problems leave the Chinese economy and financial system vulnerable to a slowdown.

Richard: with an expected 40 to 100% of the domestic hog population of China expected to die and a large percentage of their cereal grain crop expected to be destroyed by army worms China has a real big problem. Buying enough meat and grains to replace the lost crops is going to raise food prices around the world. With the Chinese economy shaky (at best it is shaky) where is the money going to come from?

The population of China is roughly 1.42 billion out of roughly 7.7 billion people, call it 1/7th of the worlds population. With a large portion of their meat and cereal no longer avaible we will see increases in our food costs but those will be less the half of the increase in the Chinese food costs. They will have to pay for the shipping costs from the producing nations to China. Just ballparking the figures says the Chinese are going to have to increase their over seas purchases of food by 100% to 150% (it may be less but not less the 50% and probably closer to what my guesses are). According to the article the Chinese supply of US Dollars is low and this will pull it down, they are either going to have to find food wholesalers who will take gold or sell gold to get the Dollars to pay for the food. If they sell large amounts of gold to get the money to buy the food the prices of gold will be depressed which will mean they have to sell more gold.

Even with the Dems working to sabotage Trump and the economic war with China Trump is in a better position then we originally thought, I wonder how long China can hold out before the publicly surrender?

  29. Canada urged to take international action on Rohingya genocide

OTTAWA — The Trudeau government is facing mounting pressure from across the country to take more international action to hold Myanmar to account for the genocide of the Rohingya people.

Thirty-four senators — a third of the Senate — and more than 100 human-rights organizations and advocates sent a joint letter to Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland this week urging Canada to initiate proceedings before the International Court of Justice for breaching the United Nations convention against genocide. The court deals with disputes between states.

In September 2018, Canada became the first country in the world to officially recognize the violence perpetrated against the Rohingya by Myanmar’s security forces as genocide. Canada also stripped Myanmar’s de facto leader, Aung Sun Suu Kyi, of her honorary Canadian citizenship over her inaction on the violence in her country.

But branding the situation a genocide carries with it an international legal obligation to intervene, potentially with force, which is why the push is now on to see Canada take this next step.

“As concerned parliamentarians and members of civil society, we strongly believe that those responsible for the genocide against the Rohingya must be held to account by the international community,” the letter says.

“We firmly believe that Canada is in a position to exercise strong and effective global leadership in response to the genocide by pursing this matter before the International Court of Justice.”

This letter follows several similar letters that have also been sent to Freeland and Justice Minister David Lametti in recent weeks, including one from an all-party group of MPs who also called for Canada to take international legal action.

In addition, Toronto and Montreal city councils have passed unanimous motions and several other Canadian mayors and rights organizations have sent their own letters to Freeland urging Canada to seek justice for the mass killing and atrocities perpetrated against the Rohingya people in Myanmar.

Last year, the UN human-rights council released a report on its fact-finding mission on three states in Myanmar documenting the systematic targeting of civilian Rohingya by the military, including mass gang rape, sexual slavery and the razing of hundreds of villages.

This followed a report by Canada’s special envoy to Myanmar, Bob Rae, who urged Canada to take a leadership role in the humanitarian crisis — but focused more on calling for increased spending on the migration crisis in the region.

The violence has led nearly 725,000 Rohingya to flee the country into neighbouring Bangladesh.

In a statement on Thursday, Freeland’s deputy press secretary Marie-Pier Baril said the government believes those responsible for the atrocities against the Rohingya Muslims must face justice, noting that Canada has sanctioned key military commanders.

But rather than initiating the process independently, Canada has called on the UN Security Council to refer the situation faced by the Rohingya to the International Criminal Court, which handles charges against individuals of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

“Canada will continue to lead international efforts to support the Rohingya’s basic needs, to exert pressure on the Myanmar government and to bring justice to the Rohingya for all they have suffered,” Baril said.

“We will continue to work closely with like-minded partners to explore all avenues for holding perpetrators to account, including through the International Court of Justice.”

Canada is also providing more than $300 million in humanitarian aid for this crisis, including to aid partners in Bangladesh.

Fareed Khan, spokesperson for the Rohingya Human Rights Network, stressed the need for more urgent action to help the hundreds of thousands who have fled the country and the hundreds of thousands more who remain trapped in Myanmar, facing ongoing rape, torture and death.

“As Canadians, as human beings, it’s our moral responsibility to act, to lift the Rohingya out of the despair and hopelessness that many of them feel because of what they have endured,” Khan said during a recent press conference in Ottawa.

“If we want to live up to our claims of being defenders of human rights, if we want to live up to our own image of being a moral nation, we have no choice but to act to stop genocide.”
Myanmar will be made accountable over ‘serious’ Rohingya matter: Canada high commissioner

Canadian High Commissioner in Dhaka Benoit Préfontaine has said Myanmar will be held to account, even if it takes time, for what it did to the Rohingya people in 2017 to prevent a recurrence.

“I personally think it’s important we do not forget what happened in 2017,” he said, referring to ‘ethnic cleansing’ in 2017 in which over 700,000 Rohingyas fled the Rakhine State and took shelter in Bangladesh.

“If we do (forget), it will happen somewhere else. If Myanmar can create a precedent of doing this and everything goes back to normal for them, we are doing a disservice to the whole international community,” he said.

“This is a serious matter. We are not going to try to forget it,” Préfontaine added, admitting that “it’s a tough cookie to bake. It will take time probably”.

The high commissioner took questions during his interaction with the diplomatic correspondents in Dhaka on Thursday under the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh’s (DCAB) flagship ‘DCAB Talk’.

DCAB President Raheed Ejaz and General Secretary Nurul Islam Hasib also spoke at the event.

Canada has been active internationally since the beginning of the latest crisis.
High Commissioner Préfontaine said they had taken a two-prong approach to help resolve the crisis – one is to mitigate the negative impacts on Rohignya refugees living in Cox’s Bazar and the other is international engagement.

“We are very active,” he said, highlighting Canada’s engagement with the multilateral organisations such as OIC, ASEAN, G7, and Commonwealth.

He said the solution will not happen quickly. “This will require a lot of diplomacy. But what I can tell you this diplomacy is happening not just with Bangladesh, many other countries trying to find solutions. Right now we have a stalemate with the UN security council.”

He said it will take time to hold Myanmar to account. “But wheels are turning”.

The envoy also spoke on a whole range of bilateral relations with Bangladesh from trade to press freedom and said they are keen to expand the trade ties.

Préfontaine, however, said infrastructure and governance remain issues of concern for Canadian businessmen.

  30. ‘Liberalism’s had its day’: Putin attacks Western views on gay rights and multiculturalism as he claims immigrants are allowed to ‘kill, plunder and rape with impunity because their rights as migrants are protected’ (dailymail, Jun 28, 2019)

“Vladimir Putin last night boasted that liberalism in Europe and the US had ‘outlived its purpose’.

The Russian president criticised Western views on gay rights, immigration and multiculturalism – which he claimed were an attack on ‘traditional family values’.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Mr Putin said ‘the liberal idea’ was on its way out as the public turned its back on these issues.

And he claimed German chancellor Angela Merkel made a ‘cardinal mistake’ in her 2017 decision to allow a million refugees into the country.

He said: ‘[Liberals] cannot simply dictate anything to anyone just like they have been attempting to do over the recent decades. This liberal idea presupposes that nothing needs to be done.

‘That migrants can kill, plunder and rape with impunity because their rights as migrants have to be protected.’

He added: ‘Every crime must have its punishment. The liberal idea has become obsolete. It has come into conflict with the interests of the overwhelming majority of the population.’

Mr Putin reserved special praise for Donald Trump for trying to stem the flow of migrants and drugs into the US, and said Anglo-Russian relations were beginning to improve ahead of his face-to-face meeting with Theresa May at this weekend’s G20 summit in Osaka, Japan.

Relations have been rocky since the UK pointed the finger at the Kremlin for the attempted assassination of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury in March last year.

Mr Putin said: ‘I think Russia and UK are both interested in fully restoring our relations, at least I hope a few preliminary steps will be made.’

But he declined to condemn the poisoning of the Skripals, saying: ‘Treason is the gravest crime possible.’ He added: ‘I am not saying that the Salisbury incident is the way to do it . . . but traitors must be punished.’

Mr Putin said liberal governments had ignored their people in pursuit of multiculturalism and tolerance of gay people. He said: ‘I am not trying to insult anyone because we have been condemned for our alleged homophobia. But we have no problem with LGBT persons. God forbid, let them live as they wish.

‘But some things do appear excessive to us. They claim now that children can play five or six gender roles. Let everyone be happy, we have no problem with that.

‘But this must not be allowed to overshadow the culture, traditions and traditional family values of millions of people making up the core population.’

Mr Putin said the threat of a new nuclear arms race between Russia and the US was a concern, adding: ‘The Cold War was a bad thing… but there were at least some rules that all participants in international communication more or less adhered to or tried to follow.’…”

  31. ITALY – LAMPEDUSA – Rescue Ship’s Captain Accuses European States of Abandoning Migrants

ON BOARD SEA-WATCH 3, Italy — The captain of rescue ship Sea-Watch 3 said on Thursday European states have no interest in finding a political solution for the 42 migrants aboard her vessel, now positioned off the Italian island of Lampedusa.

After 14 days stranded in international waters the captain, Carola Rackete, said she had decided to head to the Italian coast because she felt maritime emergency law permitted the ship to do so.

Rackete, a 31-year-old German, has become a symbol of defiance in Italian media for challenging Interior Minister Matteo Salvini’s policy of closing ports to NGO ships, which he accuses of being complicit with people smugglers.

The captain said Sea-Watch had tried without success since the beginning to cooperate with the authorities, engaging with Italy, Germany, Malta and France and opening contacts with the European Commission.

“It has been made very clear that none of these actors actually has any interest in finding a solution and it ultimately has been us who had to take steps”, Rackete said.

“We have been left totally alone”, she added.

The Sea-Watch 3 picked up 53 migrants from a rubber boat off the coast of Libya and had remained in international waters since June 12. Eleven migrants have already been taken off the ship by the Italian coastguard for health reasons.

Sea-Watch spokeswoman Giorgia Linardi said in a video posted on Twitter that the ship had tried to enter the port but was blocked by police and now stands one mile off the port of Lampedusa.

A group of opposition lawmakers has boarded the vessel and refuses to get off until a solution is found and the European Union called on Italy on Thursday to help find a swift solution for the migrants.

The captain’s decision to enter Italian waters could have legal implications.

According to a decree approved in June, Italy’s Interior Ministry has the power to deny access to territorial waters to vessels that it considers are a risk to security or public order, and impose fines of up to 50,000 euros ($56,840).

“I have a strong trust in the jurisdiction of the Italian state”, Rackete said, when asked if she was afraid of the consequences of her behaviour.

According to Sea-Watch, several fundraising campaigns have raised about 200,000 euros to support legal expenses that the crew could face.

“I am very sure that the Italian courts will find out that the life and the safety of the people rescued is much more important”, Rackete said.

    • DAILY MAIL – Sea-watch migrants appear to be in good health

Captain Carola Rackete steered the Sea-Watch 3 NGO boat into the port off Lampedusa island on Wednesday, carrying 42 migrants who had been at sea for 14 days .

The Italian government had closed the port, shutting the migrants out as part of a blockade. Italy’s interior minister Matteo Salvini has threatened to seize the ship, which is operated by a German aid organisation and to arrest its captain.

‘Enough, we’re entering. Not to provoke, but by necessity, responsibility,’ Sea-Watch 3 NGO tweeted before the vessel pulled into harbour.

      • Italy: Conditions onboard worsening, warns Sea-Watch captain after entering Italian waters

Sea-Watch 3 Captain Carola Racket warned that conditions onboard of the migrant rescue vessel were worsening, after she defied Italy’s government ban on migrant arrivals entering Italian territorial waters on Wednesday. The 31-year old captain was speaking to journalists who boarded the Sea Watch anchored near the Italian island of Lampedusa on Thursday.

“The situation onboard has been worsening every day, especially the psychological situation. We have had people who threatened to throw themselves over board, and we have many people who have suffered from post-traumatic stress disease. And also people who have told their history of past suicide attempts. So the psychological situation of the people was getting worse and worse, so we had to enter to prevent any harm to people’s lives”, she stressed.

Racket confirmed that Italian law enforcement officers boarded the vessel, but the government has not provided any assistance to migrants to date. The vessel demanded assistance and a port of safety in either the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, France or Malta, according to the captain.

Racket, who blamed Rome for failing to take responsibility for the ongoing crisis, hoped to transfer the migrants to Lampedusa using the Sea Watch inflatable rafts, but the Italian financial authorities asked her to wait as a solution was apparently close.

Her decision to enter Italian waters came just a day after the European Court of Human Rights rejected an appeal from the charity to implement ‘interim measures’ which would force Italy to allow the ship to dock in the country.

Italian interior Minister Matteo Salvini, who so far refused to allow the migrants to disembark, replied: “There’s an outlaw who’s steering an outlaw ship who says she has no time to waste. My patience has a limit.”

In the meantime, a delegation of [ Leftist ]Italian MPs reached the Sea Watch in open water on Thursday, and vowed they would remain on board until the migrants were granted entry, in an attempt to bring the deadlock to an end.
