Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. NR: As noted many other times, rarely do I post videos that even approach an hour in length. This clip is no exception. However, it is exceptional.

Richard, you of all people at VTB will truly enjoy this detailed analysis of the Second American Civil War (ACWII). In Silicon Valley, there’s a running joke about overly-fastidious scientists who run experiments wherein not a single piece of glassware gets wet (or even needs washing afterwards). This is colloquially referred to as “dry labbing” (similar to, but different from, “dry humping”).

Those more familiar with Einstein’s writings will recognize this video’s speculative format as something more akin to the Great One’s routinely brilliant “thought experiments”. Likewise is this set of projections well-constructed and fleshed out with simple, near-irrefutable conclusions, that are just as often derived from common knowledge. This makes its explanations particularly informative for beginners and laymen.

Within the first five minutes this presenter strikes gold and then relentlessly pickaxes vein after rich vein in what becomes a mother lode of evidence that would be sorely understated as being a mere “preponderance”.

Eeyore, rarely have I seen better page one material. This analysis will warm Conservative Cockles™ everywhere and—should any of them have sufficient wits to watch this—scare the brown trout out of any sober Leftists with IQs bigger than their shoe-size.

This clip’s closing points, starting with its “land war” segment, are nothing more or less than nail after ten-penny nail in the Left’s coffin the instant they ever attempt to lock Conservatives out of running for America’s Presidency.

The numbers pertaining to this nation’s military are convincing all by themselves. “Up shit creek in a barbwire canoe without a paddle” doesn’t begin to paint up the corner that (almost-unanimously) unarmed Postmodernists have backed themselves into.

When you calculate the other angles of this shooting match (e.g, deserters, stay-behind moles, veterans, or a single rebel nuclear submarine captain), there is overwhelming evidence that the American Left is buns-up naked with its pants down in the snow.

TLDR? ACWII is over before it starts. Finding out why is half the fun.

      • I don’t know what the hell is going on here but I’ve NEVER seen a website where my previous post’s video URL magically transplants itself into my latest reply.

Every time you’ve ever seen me post and re-post a video link(usually accompanied by a, “Hamn it all to dell!”), it is when this problem occurs and it is unique to VTB. I’ve never seen anything of the sort elsewhere EVER, and I’ve embedded over a thousand video links.

    • NR I know you and Yuckie don’t like long videos, watch this one, it is well worth the time to hear the way that the US got into this mess.

We are both old enough to remember the change in public attitudes that the professor talks about.

Life, Liberty & Levin 6/16/19 FULL SCREEN | Fox News Live Stream June 16, 2019

      • What the hell was that roll-in of “FBI Lovebirds” (or whatever) crap that didn’t even show a separate timer or “skip ad” tab?!?!?!?

I had to mute and un-mute the audio as it played to ensure that the tab wasn’t being overridden by some spurious track from whatever other site. At the very least, that was a major discourtesy and professional indiscretion.

The only imaginable mitigating circumstance is that theirs is a guerilla embed to march beneath radar the banner of that Fox News thumbnail. If anyone has a better answer, I’m just like a ripe cornfield, all ears.

PS: Richard, my Phantom Clipper finally took a powder and I managed to sneak through the ecktual vid. Please give it a decko and lob in your 2¢. You’re showing me yours so, now you’ve got to look at mine.

        • Richard, are you aware that your “Life, Liberty & Levin” video clip routinely broke off for multi-minute fade-to-gray screens with a “subscribe, like, share” logo THAT BLURRED OUT MONETIZED ADS PLAYING DURING THE BREAK???

It got to the point where I had to abandon any viewing of that otherwise excellent interview with Marini. I’ve never seen anything like it and cannot but imagine that it was GlueTube sabotaging the piece. This crap is so weird that it’s making a lot of conspiracy theories start to sound credible.

Sickest of all is how this sort of sensationalism only serves the tech overlords by viralizing and popularizing their platforms. This is the neonicotinoid poison being pumped into the Internet hive mind that’s intended to bring about colony collapse disorder for Western Civilization.

PS: If you haven’t watched the ACW-II video above, you’re missing out on the best analysis I’ve ever seen regarding why the left will fold like origami when push comes to shove.

      • Professor Marini nails it within 90 seconds. Substituting Rule of Law for some random or arbitrary “rational authority” du jour* represents—at least from the perspective of Dickensian-like, institutionalized Democrat barnacles—little other that the classic logical fallacy of an Appeal to Authority:

The appeal to authority is a fallacy in argumentation, but deferring to an authority is a reliable heuristic that we all use virtually every day on issues of relatively little importance. There is always a chance that any authority can be wrong, that’s why the critical thinker accepts facts provisionally.

This is why the teaching of analytical and critical thought essentially has been outlawed. As has anything departing a hair’s breadth from the shallow LEO (Low Earth Orbit) of Lowest Common Denominator Curriculum.

Considering how the relatively functional public education syllabus from just a few decades ago was eye-wateringly dull (for me, at least), it takes no imagination—because the gears for that engine were stripped in preschool, along with critical thinking skills—to picture the psychosocial junkyard of today’s intellectual landscape.

To rework the sombre phrasing of Edward Murrow’s contemporary,Newton N Minow, about how the:

Television generation is a vast wasteland of the mind.

More importantly, Marini is alluding to the career bureaucrat’s darling, “consensus government”—a prime mover and enforcer for deconstructionist Consensus Science—in mentioning how elected politicians relinquish their contractual obligations (i.e., OATH of OFFICE) in favor “socially acceptable” solutions.

As in “acceptable to Social Media” and those few other Special Interests who control re-election campaign funding have the Deep State’s “ear” (or a fistful of their short-and-curlies).

Looks like a good find, Richard. Maybe that’s just the first minute or three, but probably not. More later.

NOTE: — Due to having lost a few lengthy and irreplaceable “blow-by-blow” commentaries in the past, these and future analyses are being posted as serial comments unless otherwise required. Thank you, NR. —

        • The Professor is right in everything he says but the most important is whe he says “It took us over a Century to get to this point and it will take as long to get back” (Richard: I think that was how he worded it.). We of the television generations have been taught that we can solve all problems in 1 to 2 hours less commercials.

The last 50 years are when the most damage was done to the Constitution and the Rule of Law. What did the most damage was when the far left gained control of our educational systems, that was when the kids were taught that Self Reliance is bad and that the Government is suppose to provide everything for us.

Everyone hasn’t bought into that BS but enough have that it is going to be a long hard struggle back to sanity and freedom. The coming Civil Wars and the chaos from an economic collapse will both hinder and help us but it will also sort the people who can survive from the ones that are dependent on the government. As Yucki says God is culling the Herd.

  2. How does something so small and so personal like submission, to join up with an identity found outside in the world, end up with the rage to kill all unsubmitters?

Each Generation born, being branded with the names of Heaven and Earth.

“(4) Jesus said: The man aged in days will not hesitate to ask a little child of seven days about the place of life, and he shall live; for there are many first who shall be last, and they will become a single one.”
    http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/thomas/gospelthomas4.html

At seven days, a child is circumcised. Before then, he was perfectly formed. The world of clothes, poor hygiene and pride of attachment, did the rest.

A perfect child who walks unscathed, is the same with the inner and the outer, first as the last, so that they are one.

Unprotected children, before they can rationalize, will through resentment or fixation have the temptation to reject or attach, where pride becomes their reasoning. This often forgotten origin ends up with a claim to be born with it, that will burn inside until the world submits to their demands. They enter the schools invited by guilty moms.

“Repent, for the kingdom of god is near.” Has not changed since John The Baptist uttered it.

His disciple Jesus (turned into a Deity of Good), from a disturbed boy to enlightened man who also said
“Repent, for the kingdom of god is near.”

This is all these sick, have to do. Reality is here and now if you want to escape your hypnosis and the suffering it causes you.

Face the truth about the big nothing you are and let the names of Heaven and Earth go.

For you are made in G-ds Image. So act like it.

    Or just pick-up another overlay:

“My recommendation is to SURRENDER to Yeshua, Jesus, Isa, for he will set you FREE from the wills of the Adversary, the Devil to kill you forever. For in rejecting the JEWISH MESSIAH, your name is not in the BOOK OF LIFE and you suffer the SECOND DEATH,”

With the truth -the red pill – you can’t ever unlearn it.

With Faith – the blue pill – you backslide and will have to keep taking more and more until you die.

    • Now, the fruit of Christendom in the East has been to prepare the way of Islam and Comunism.

In The West, Catholicism took over and would not share the power over the livestock. But the Protestant Christians were for the letter of the law and not for the adapting of positions of the Holy Church that it had used to navigate for spoils power. And so they also had not been able to meet the new deceptions of Truth and Love forced onto them.

“A Saviour will come anyway,” being their abject excuse. And never will.

    • The first sentence is enough to tell you where the idiot is coming from, social progressivism is socialism by a different name. The writer thinks we are so stupid we don’t understand that changing the name doesn’t change the philosophy.

  3. Iran nuclear deal: Enriched uranium limit will be breached on 27 June (bbc, Jun 17, 2019)
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-48661843

“Iran has said it will breach on 27 June the limit on its stockpile of enriched uranium that was capped under a 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.

The country announced last month that it would quadruple its production of low-enriched uranium in retaliation for sanctions reinstated by the US.

Enriched uranium is used to make reactor fuel but also nuclear weapons.

European powers have warned Iran they will have no choice but to reimpose sanctions if the deal is violated…”

  4. At least 30 killed in Nigeria suicide bombings (BBC, Jun 17, 2019)
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-48660150

“At least 30 people have been killed in a suicide attack in north-eastern Nigeria, officials say.

Another 40 have been injured, according to the State Emergency Management Agency.

The bombers detonated their explosives outside a hall in Konduga, Borno State, where football fans were watching a match on television.

Jihadist group Boko Haram is being blamed for the attack, though it has not claimed responsibility for it.

It has frequently carried out bomb attacks in the state.

The group has claimed 27,000 lives and forced some two million people to flee their homes.”

  5. ‘Pork Salt’ in Halal Sausages Leaves Bitter Taste in Norwegian Muslims’ Mouths (sputniknews, Jun 17, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201906171075906717-norway-muslims-pork-halal/

“A mysterious ingredient called “pork salt” has roiled the Norwegian Muslim community. The producer assured, however, that the sausages in question are indeed fully halal and blamed a human error for the mistake and ensuing controversy.

Sausages labelled “chicken grill” have caused a stir among Norwegian Muslims, the Nationen trade newspaper reports, as their ingredients and contents list oddly says they are 64 per cent turkey, but more worryingly also features a spice called “pork salt”. As the consumption of pork is strictly forbidden in Islam, the revelation unsurprisingly left many Muslims in the country concerned.

Both consumers and food industry professionals were outraged by the incident.

“Really? If so, we should sue. The manufacturer cannot possibly be certified by the Islamic Council”, an angry Muslim wrote, as quoted by Nationen.

“Pork salt is not a thing! There is pork in the sausages. And this is a way to escape litigation”, another ventured.

“Calling a turkey product ‘chicken grill’ is so stupid that it must be a mistake. If not, it’s an obvious case of misleading labelling”, Gunstein Instefjord of the Consumer Council argued.

According to Instefjord, the large print must always match the small print. By his own admission, he has never heard of “pork salt” said and it’s strange to use it in a halal product.

The manufacturer, Åkerberg Skoglunn Pølsemakeri, immediately launched a “damage control” mission, and general manager Roger Lund said the blunder was down to human error.

In a written report, the sausage-maker explained that the spice mix had been wrongly attributed. The spice comes from a German factory and was originally labelled “flavouring roast pork type” (sic). According to the company, it has also received oral confirmation that the seasoning doesn’t originate from pig meat.

“It goes without saying that you don’t put pork meat into a halal product. Pork is much more expensive than chicken”, Lund assured.

According to him, the erroneous turkey label was placed for the same reason as the misleading spice name. The sausages include only locally produced chicken meat, he assured.

“The quality manager wasn’t present, and others tried to save the situation for the waiting customers. Wrong text ended up transferred from the program”, Lund explained.

According to Lund, the incorrectly marked goods will now be withdrawn from all stores. He also pledged to tighten the checking routine for new and changed products.

The Norwegian Food Safety Authority said that the halal marking falls outside of their regulations, but nevertheless stressed that it expected honesty from food manufacturers. However, it corroborated that the divisive “pork salt” was a natural seasoning made of vegetables.

Halal is an Arabic word which means “allowed”, the opposite of Haram. Both are widely used for food and drink, distinguishing between what Muslims are permitted and not permitted to consume. Pork is strictly prohibited in all interpretations of Islam.

Specific rules also apply to animal slaughter. The animal must be turned to Mecca, its throat must be cut, and the carcass drained of blood. In Norway, ritual slaughter without anaesthesia or stunning is prohibited.

Halal certification in Norway is handled by the Islamic Council, which generates millions of kronor in revenue.”

  6. Sweden Expels Extremist Imams in ‘Historic Offensive (sputniknews, Jun 17, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201906171075907453-sweden-expells-extremist-imams/

“While the number of extremists in Sweden is estimated to have grown from hundreds to thousands, the men suspected of spreading radical Islam and supporting terrorism were allowed to run mosques and even worked with schools and pre-schools.

In what has been dubbed a “historic offensive” against radical imams, several people have been placed in custody with the support of the Act on Special Control of Foreigners (LSU) and slated for deportation.

A total of five imams and preachers are set to be expelled from Sweden over suspected radicalisation attempts and terrorist threats, the Migration Board reported.

One of them, Imam Abu Raad, who served at the al-Rashideen Mosque in the city of Gävle, was earlier said to advocate the “anti-democratic” and “militant” brand of Islam called Wahhabism and supported al-Qaeda* and Daesh*. He is reportedly seen as a “sage” in Sweden’s Salafist circles.

All five men to be deported were active in mosques in different parts of Sweden, such as in Västerås, Gothenburg and Umeå. Some also worked with schools and pre-schools, the Aftonbladet newspaper reported.

The background for the extraordinary measure is their alleged Islamist teachings. The Security Police (SÄPO) believes the men compromise the nation’s security and increase the terror threat to Sweden.

“The efforts by the Security Police within the framework of the LSU are aimed at uncovering people who are a security threat. This, in turn, can help to reduce the development within the extremist environments. Curbing this growth is crucial for the long-term reduction of the terrorist threat and contributes to a safer Sweden”, SÄPO chief Klas Friberg said.

SÄPO’s evidence against the men is secret. While in custody, they are kept isolated and are not allowed to talk to anyone without guards listening in, to prevent them from spreading their teachings and radicalising other prisoners.

According to Magnus Ranstorp, a senior terrorist researcher of the National Defence College, who has been ringing alarm bells for several years, the crackdown against militant Islamism marks a shift in SÄPO’s policy.

“One can ask why this is happening now, but I think it has to do with the Syrian war and the fact the extremist environments in Sweden have grown from about 200 to 2,000 people. SÄPO’s task is to slow down the growth in the extremist environments”, Ranstorp told Aftonbladet.

In Sweden’s Muslim circles, the expulsion was described as an overreaction.

Gävle mosque’s spokesperson Nizam Hindi called the decision to expel Abu Raad, previously described as a “humble and well-respected man”, “regrettable” given than it may have serious consequences.

While the number of Muslims in Sweden has been growing exponentially in recent decades, exceeding 8.1 per cent of the Swedish population according to the Pew Research Institute, the number of extremists has also risen “from hundreds to thousands”, SÄPO reported. Sweden has also emerged as one of Europe’s top “exporters” of jihadism per capita.

Salafism is a hardline brand of Islam that evolved from Wahhabism and has been associated with literalist interpretations and a puritanical approach, often labelled fundamentalist. Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia are often referenced as strongholds.

    * Al-Qaeda and Daesh are both terrorist organisations outlawed in Russia and many other countries.”

  7. Warning: Spain terror threat raised to ‘severe’ as 40,000 police deployed to tourist spots (express, Jun 17, 2019)

“SPAIN’s terror threat level has been heightened to severe as tourists are urged to be careful when visiting popular holiday destinations in the country Around 40,000 police are reported to have been deployed to Spanish tourist hotspots in a bid to counter terrorism.

Spain has seen its terror threat level raised by police as thousands of Britons prepare to jet off to the popular holiday location. The level has been raised to four out of five which is classed as ‘severe.’ This is the latest travel advice. The Spanish Home Office put Operation Summer into place which will see 40,000 police deployed in tourists hotspots amid ISIS threats. They will stand guard in popular tourism locations including beaches, hotels, restaurants and stations until the end of the peak holiday season.

The Operation aims to “take full action to obtain information in order to prevent terrorist acts.”

Forces will also reinforce “security measures at events and places that will attract a large number of people.”

The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) states: “Terrorists are likely to try to carry out attacks in Spain.”

The FCO adds: “Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places visited by foreigners.

“The Spanish authorities take measures to protect visitors, but you should be vigilant and follow the instructions of the local authorities.”

Barcelona has been threatened with attacks by terrorists in the last month…”

  8. Stratford murder: Fourth man killed after weekend of bloodshed in London (telegraph, Jun 17, 2019)
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/06/17/stratford-murder-fourth-man-killed-weekend-bloodshed-london/

“A fourth man has been killed in London after a weekend of bloodshed in the capital saw three other men stabbed and shot to death in less than 24 hours.

The victim, believed to be aged in his 40s, was found collapsed and suffering stab wounds in Whalebone Lane, near West Ham Lane, in Stratford on Monday morning.

The killing – the 61st in the capital this year – is likely to fuel the criticism of the city’s mayor Sadiq Khan, who has been told by US President Donald Trump to get a grip on the violence in London.

But the knife crime epidemic is not limited to the capital. It emerged overnight that children in Liverpool are being paid up to £1,000 by gang elders to stab other youngsters, according to the BBC…”

  9. Iran gives Europe 10 days to save the nuclear deal (telegraph, Jun 17, 2019)
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/06/17/iran-gives-europe-10-days-save-nuclear-deal/

“ran has announced that it will breach the 2015 nuclear agreement in ten days unless European states find a way to get around crippling US sanctions and bolster Iran’s faltering economy.

The ultimatum from Tehran is likely to trigger a desperate diplomatic scramble by European powers to save the unravelling nuclear deal and force Britain, France, and Germany to consider what they will do if Iran openly breaks the accord.

The new threat comes amid already heightened tensions after the US accused Iran of attacking six oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman over the last month. Iran denies responsibility….”

  10. Muslim Mob Burns Christian Church in Niger After Arrest of Imam (breitbart, Jun 17, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/africa/2019/06/17/muslim-mob-burns-christian-church-in-niger-after-arrest-of-imam/

“A mob of Muslim activists sacked and set fire to a Christian church in Niger this weekend to protest the arrest of an influential imam.

On Saturday night, scores of demonstrators in Maradi, Niger’s third largest city, torched the church of the Assembly of God in the Zaria neighborhood along with the car of the parish pastor. In another neighborhood, the Life to the Full Christian church was sacked.

Witnesses told Agence France Presse (AFP) that on late Saturday evening, groups of young Muslims laid barricades across the road and burned old tires in protest of the arrest of Cheick Rayadoune, the influential imam of the mosque of Zaria.

Police had arrested the imam earlier in the day after he had preached at Friday services against a new government bill on the organization of the exercise of worship, calling the proposed legislation “anti-Islam.”

After several hours of detention, the imam was released.

A senior official of the Niger’s Ministry of the Interior told AFP that there is “nothing anti-Islamic” in the proposed legislation, which is the fruit rather of extensive consultation and is intended to counter measures advocated by “obscurantist terrorist organizations” in the country…”

  11. Suspicion of Islamic extremism among the Greens in Hamburg, Germany+++
Hamburg’s Green Party leadership has instigated internal proceedings against two of the 16 newly elected Green district representatives in Hamburg-Mitte on suspicion of being close to extremism, Islamism and terrorism. Four other members of parliament expressed their solidarity with the two concerned. Some of the Greens in Hamburg’s centre have suspected the Social Democrats of being responsible for numerous new members of the Greens. The two parties concerned, against whom an internal proceeding is now being examined, have not been members of the Greens for long, according to statements from the party.Shafi Sediqi and Fatih Can Karismaz are said to be close to extremist organisations. One of them is said to have called for donations on Facebook for Ansaa International, an Islamic aid organisation with links to the Islamic terrorist organisation Hamas, whose ban is already being examined by the Federal Ministry of the Interior. The 27-year-old student Fatih-Can Karismaz is said to be close to the highly controversial Islamic movement Milli Görus and to have a dubious attitude to equality between men and women. The party itself had noticed the indications of possible extremist connections, no security authorities had contacted the faction beforehand,” Green party leader Anna Gallina tried to present to the tabloid Mopo. “Just as we clearly oppose the Right wing and the AfD, we must also make it clear that this form of extremism has no place here,” Gallina continues. Not all Green district representatives want to support the decision. Four of them did not join the faction out of solidarity with the two accused. Not all Green district representatives want to support the decision. Four of them did not join the faction out of solidarity with the two accused. Thus, the Greens, despite their great electoral success, no longer represent the strongest faction in Hamburg Central, but fall behind the Social Democratic Party (SPD), which has 14 seats. Some of the Green party members seem to believe that the Social Democrats have their fingers in the pie and suspect the Red comrades of having been responsible for these party joins to the Greens. According to the Hamburger Abendblatt, the background to these suspicions is that one of the victims was very committed to a social project that was supported by the Social Democrats. However, there is no evidence for the Green hypothesis so far.

    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/turkey-missing-31-rescued-migrant-boat-sinks-63755912

“A boat carrying migrants to Greece sank off the Turkish coast on Monday, leaving at least eight migrants dead, Turkey’s coast guard said.

The coast guard said 31 other migrants were rescued after the boat sank in the Aegean Sea, off the coast of Bodrum. The region is close to the Greek island of Kos.

The private DHA news agency said rescuers are still searching for one other migrant who remains unaccounted-for.

It was not immediately clear why the boat sank.

Although the number of people heading to the Greek islands from the Turkish coast has decreased since the height of the refugee crisis in 2015, hundreds continue to make the crossing each week.”

  15. Hunt for cause of massive South America power outage begins
By LUIS ANDRES HENAO and PAUL BYRNE2 hours ago

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — As lights turned back on across Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay after a massive blackout that hit tens of millions people, authorities were still largely in the dark about what caused the collapse of the interconnected grid and were tallying the damage from the unforeseen disaster.

Argentine President Mauricio Macri promised a thorough investigation into what he called an “unprecedented” outage, one that raised questions about flaws in South America’s grid, which connects many of the region’s largest countries.

Energy officials said the results of the investigation would be available in 10 to 15 days, and they could not immediately provide details on the economic impact of the outage, which came on a Sunday, and a day before a national holiday in Argentina.

Argentine Energy Secretary Gustavo Lopetegui said the blackout began with a failure in the country’s “interconnection system,” adding that it happens in other countries as well. But he said a chain of events took place later, causing a total disruption.

“This is an extraordinary event that should have never happened,” he told a news conference. “It’s very serious. We can’t leave the whole country all of a sudden without electricity.” He did not discount the possibility of a cyberattack, but said it was unlikely.

  16. Iranian Military Official Urges US to Leave Gulf as Tehran in Charge of Security There – Report (sputniknews, Jun 17, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201906171075913211-iranian-admiral-us-gulf/

“Earlier this week, Saudi Arabia blamed Iran for the 13 June attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman added that although his country does not want a war, it would respond to any threats faced by its people.

The IRIB television channel quoted Iranian Admiral and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani as saying that Tehran is in charge of security in the Gulf.

“We have always said we guarantee the security of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz,” Ali Shamkhani was quoted as saying by the state broadcaster IRIB.

Mr Shamkhani also called on US forces to leave the area.

“We repeat our stance and call on U.S. forces to finish their presence in the region as they are the main source of crisis and instability.”…”

  17. Trump 150% Right When Calling London Mayor Sadiq Khan ‘National Disgrace’ – Jeremy Hunt (sputniknews, Jun 17, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/news/201906171075911326-jeremy-hunt-donald-trump-london-mayor-sadiq-khan/

“The US president clashed with the mayor of London last weekend, mentioning the wave of violent attacks which hit the city and called Khan a “national disgrace” who is destroying the UK’s capital.

Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Conservative Party leadership contender Jeremy Hunt said he supports President Trump’s allegations against Mayor Sadiq Khan, stating that he agreed with them “150 per cent”.

“President Trump has his own style and I wouldn’t use those words myself,” the minister noted. “But the sentiment is enormous disappointment that we have a Mayor of London who has completely failed to tackle knife crime and spent more time on politics than the actual business of making Londoners safer”.

The Muslim Council of Britain said the minister’s statement was “disgusting”, stressing that it should be “disqualifying for any potential PM”.

Trump condemned Sadiq Khan on Sunday, also retweeting a post by conservative commentator Katie Hopkins that called London “Stab-City” and “Khan’s Londonistan”….”

  18. Chinese raids hit North Korean defectors’ ‘Underground Railroad’

SEOUL (Reuters) – A decade after leaving her family behind to flee North Korea, the defector was overwhelmed with excitement when she spoke to her 22-year-old son on the phone for the first time in May after he too escaped into China.

While speaking to him again on the phone days later, however, she listened in horror as the safe house where her son and four other North Korean escapees were hiding was raided by Chinese authorities.

“I heard voices, someone saying ‘shut up’ in Chinese,” said the woman, who spoke on condition of anonymity to protect her son’s safety. “Then the line was cut off, and I heard later he was caught.”

The woman, now living in South Korea, said she heard rumors her son is being held in a Chinese prison near the North Korean border, but has had no official news of his whereabouts.

At least 30 North Korean escapees have been rounded up in a string of raids across China since mid-April, according to family members and activist groups.

It is not clear whether this is part of a larger crackdown by China, but activists say the raids have disrupted parts of the informal network of brokers, charities, and middlemen who have been dubbed the North Korean “Underground Railroad”.

4 kids killed in 5 days in St. Louis; city leaders outraged

ST. LOUIS – Another tragic shooting and death of a child in St Louis. Four children have died from guns since Saturday.

Most recently, Myiesha Cannon, a 16-year-old honor roll student at Sumner High School, was shot dead early Wednesday morning while sitting on a porch.

St. Louis Police Chief John Hayden said he’s doing everything within the department to curb the violence. Meanwhile, city leaders said police cannot solve the problem alone, and the victim’s family members said enough is enough – the senseless violence must end.

“Somebody shot her in the head,” said Latrice Cannon, Myiesha’s mother.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear. Police have called the shooting suspicious.

Cannon is the fourth child in five days to die to gun violence.

  20. GATES OF VIENNA – Sad News, and a Blogging Hiatus

Posted on June 17, 2019 by Baron Bodissey

Dymphna died suddenly last night, or more accurately, early this morning. I took her to the emergency room early in the evening; she had a high fever and a terrible cough. But it didn’t seem like anything that could ever be fatal.

I will be pretty much out of action until at least after the funeral, so this blog is officially on hiatus for a while. I’ll be back, though, when I’m ready to handle things again.

Tipsters are advised not to send any more news feed tips until you see another post appear here besides this one.

I’ve been up all night, so that’s all for now.

Two weeks after I exposed Italy’s role in spygate, Obama is heading to Italy today to meet with the former Italian prime minister who weaponized his intel assets against us. Keep focused, America. The real headlines are now coming out.

Obama and Renzi meet again in Italy, but this time in secrecy, apparently. Italian MSM, who once would celebrate this, is now worried it could lead to more SpyGate conjectures. Agreeing on a common version of facts for Barr/Durham?

It looks like the Italians have a lot of information that may be of interest to AG Barr and his investigation into the Deep State. Numerous individuals in Italy are suspected of having knowledge of an attempt by former President Obama to utilize the Italian Intel network to set up President Trump leading to his removal from office.

It is highly probable that former President Obama and his Deep State FBI worked with foreign countries like Italy to assist in the removal of President Trump from office. Now Obama and his accomplices are trying hard to cover it all up.

    • 3 videos ( in English ) ( 0:46 ) ( 2:19 ) ( 3:17 ) March 27 2019 – Matteo Renzi on CNBC

I’m lucky I worked with Obama and not Trump, Italy’s former prime minister says

Italy’s former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said he is lucky not to have had to work with President Donald Trump, telling CNBC that he preferred former President Barack Obama’s style of leadership.

“I’m a really lucky man because I worked with Barack Obama and not Donald Trump,” Renzi, who was Italy’s prime minister from early 2014 to late 2016, told CNBC’s Hadley Gamble in an exclusive interview Wednesday.

Obama’s style involved people and countries, he said, mentioning some “very strong decisions” that were made about the coalition in the Middle East, specifically in Iraq.

“But now with Trump, with a tweet (he announced) ‘We’ve come back from Syria, from Iraq, from Afghanistan’ — with a tweet? This is the style? I think it’s a problem,” Renzi, a member and former leader of the center-left Democratic Party, said.

Renzi’s comments on Trump come at a time of tension between the U.S. and Europe as a whole, with Trump threatening to impose import tariffs on European cars. Trump would likely get along with Italy’s current populist coalition government, however, which is made up of the right-wing Lega party which campaigned on an anti-immigration manifesto, and the anti-establishment Five Star Movement.

“I believe President Trump has to understand the (U.S.’s) relationship with the EU is not in his hands. It’s a historical relationship, it’s a historical friendship so it’s impossible to cancel it with a tweet,” he said. A spokesperson for the White House wasn’t immediately available for comment when contacted by CNBC.

‘Good car with a bad driver’

Remarking on the current government in Italy, which has been in power for just under a year, Renzi said it had created “chaos” in the last 12 months.

The government has already caused waves in Brussels for its euroskeptic stance, 2019 budget plans and most recently, its signing up to China’s controversial Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Making matters worse, Italy’s economy entered a recession in the final three months of 2018 and the government reportedly expects the economy to grow by just 0.1 percent in 2019, down from a 1 percent forecast made in December.

Renzi resigned in late 2016 after he lost a referendum on constitutional reform that he said was designed to bring stability to Italian politics. Commenting on the current coalition and economic situation, he said that economic progress made under his leadership had been undone.

“Italy is a good economy, with a bad government, it’s a good car with a bad driver … I believe that Italy is a country with a government that has created chaos in the last 12 months,” he said.

“I’m really sad for that because with my government for three years we came back from crisis to growth. When I started my experience as prime minister GDP (gross domestic product) growth was -1.7 (percent) after my government and the government of Paolo Gentiloni, we came to growth of 1.5 percent plus. So we created the growth in Italy. What happened?”

      China relationship ‘crucial’

He noted that the government had “made a lot of mistakes in foreign politics” and said he agreed with French President Emmanuel Macron who has called for a united European approach when it comes to trade with China.

“The relationship with China will be absolutely crucial in the next years on two very important points. First, the European framework and second, the attention about security, particularly the network security, 5G and the internet in general,” he said.

“So I think this is a very important question for the future between the EU and China, not only between Italy and China.”

Renzi said that Italy had to have a “common strategy as a single market of 500 million people” and that bilateral trade deals between single countries and the U.S. and China lacked credibility.

  22. New Denver City Council Member: I Will Usher In Communism ‘By Any Means Necessary’

Newly elected far-left Denver City Council member Candi CdeBaca has stated that she is “excited to usher” in communism “by any means necessary.”

CdeBaca, who won in an upset runoff election earlier this month, said in late March during a candidate forum for City Council District 9:

I don’t believe our current economic system actually works. Um, capitalism by design is extractive and in order to generate profit in a capitalist system, something has to be exploited, that’s land, labor or resources.

And I think that we’re in late phase capitalism and we know it doesn’t work and we have to move into something new. And I believe in community ownership of land, labor, resources, and distribution of those resources.

And so, whatever that morphs into I think is what will serve community the best and I’m excited to usher it in by any means necessary. [Emphasis added]

Encyclopedia Britannica defines communism as a “political and economic doctrine that aims to replace private property and a profit-based economy with public ownership and communal control of at least the major means of production (e.g., mines, mills, and factories) and the natural resources of a society.”

  24. Words have definitions, and changing and manipulating the meaning of words is called lying

At the risk of coming across as slightly pedantic, I’d like to offer a bit of a lesson as we enter into the last days of June and, thereby, prepare for the upcoming celebration of our nation’s birth.

    The lesson? Words mean something.

All words have definitions. Words like green and gay, left and right, up and down, good and evil, change and choice, and even male and female, all have objective meanings.

As thinking human beings, we do know the definition of these words and we also, intuitively, know something else. Changing and manipulating the meaning of words is called something — it is called lying. And lying about words and with words — turning them upside down and reversing their meaning — always brings negative consequences. As Isaiah said, “woe unto him who calls bitter sweet, and sweet bitter.”

Let’s take, for example, the left’s fight against Barronelle Stutzman, the flower shop owner from the state of Washington.

It doesn’t take an eighth-grade education to see the progressive cry against this sweet grandmother for what it truly is — self-refuting nonsense at its worst. Waving a rainbow banner of “tolerance” while claiming you can’t tolerate Mrs. Stutzman’s intolerance is anything but a principled argument. Any school boy can see that this rant is really more about tyranny and power than it is about love and acceptance. Shouting, “You must agree with us! You must celebrate everything we do! You must believe everything we believe! You must watch and you must applaud!” while claiming to be a champion of “diversity” and “inclusion” makes you a posterchild for contradiction more so than for coexistence.

    + video

A group of over 100 people took to the downtown streets of Halifax Sunday afternoon for the sixth annual Walk with Refugees.

“It’s an opportunity to build awareness and also bring the first person voice forward for refugees,” said Denise Scott with Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia.

“This is that opportunity to talk with someone directly or be able to meet with someone within the walk or be able to strike up a conversation and ask well what’s your experience.”

Easa Al Hariri was among the refugees at the event open to sharing his experience. He said it’s important for people to understand why Canada’s ongoing support of refugees is so crucial.

“I ask everyone to put their self in the same situation. There’s a war going on, there’s firing and bombing. My main concern was to save the little kids,” he said.

[…]Councillor Tony Mancini attended the walk and says he’s glad that the Halifax Regional Municipality has been able to open it’s doors to so many refugees.

“How brave of them to leave their country because it wasn’t safe, and they wanted to have a safer place for their families, so they took a long journey, for many a dangerous journey to come here,” he said.

Teen Vogue is facing backlash once again — this time for publishing an article advocating sex work to their young readers.

The op-ed, titled ‘Why Sex Work is Real Work‘ faced immediate criticism and backlash on social media from people across the political spectrum.

Written by Tlaleng Mofokeng, founder of an organization called Nalane for Reproductive Justice, the article calls prostitution to be decriminalized and for children to “fund public campaigns to decrease stigma.”

“The clients who seek sex workers vary, and they’re not just men. The idea of purchasing intimacy and paying for the services can be affirming for many people who need human connection, friendship, and emotional support. Some people may have fantasies and kink preferences that they are able to fulfill with the services of a sex worker,” the article, aimed at children as young as 13, states.

  28. Egypt TV says ousted president Morsi dies in court

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt’s state TV says the country’s ousted President Mohammed Morsi has collapsed during a court session and died.

The state TV says the 67-year-old Morsi was attending a session Monday in his trial on espionage charges when he blacked out and then died. His body was taken to a hospital, it said.

Morsi, who hailed from Egypt’s largest Islamist group, the now outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, was elected president in 2012 in the country’s first free elections following the ouster the year before of longtime leader Hosni Mubarak.

The military ousted Morsi in 2013 after massive protests and crushed the Brotherhood in a major crackdown, arresting Morsi and many others of the group’s leaders.

Egypt’s ex-president Mohamed Morsi, who was ousted in 2013 following a popular uprising, died on Monday in Cairo after suffering a heart attack during a trial session in an espionage case, according to Egyptian state TV.

Morsi, who was 67, was pronounced dead shortly after fainting during the session, which he attended as a defendant.

Before his demise, the presiding judge allowed Morsi to speak upon his request.

According to informed judicial sources, Morsi was treated in accordance with the law while being detained, and was being medically examined by doctors on a regular basis.

Morsi’s body has been transferred to an unnamed hospital.

  30. LATE SUNDAY, Quebec passed two major bills – Going in the right direction.

”Bill 21 will ban teachers, police, government lawyers and others in positions of authority from wearing religious symbols such as Muslim head coverings and Sikh turbans. Police officers, provincial jail guards and prosecutors who wear religious symbols are rare in Quebec but the province has dozens of female Muslim teachers. Religiously dressed teachers already on the job will have acquired rights to continue wearing the garments but they will not be able to take a transfer, promotion or new job and wear them.”

Bill 9: In the shadow of the Bill 21 controversy, Bill 9, the immigration law passed Sunday, is also a source of conflict.

The province’s plan to deny residency to immigrants who fail French-language and values tests is in protracted negotiations with Ottawa. The bill is also controversial because it throws out 18,000 applications already filed under the old system.

  31. CBC – Not 24 hours after being passed, Quebec’s religious symbols law confronts first legal test

Muslim advocacy group and Canadian Civil Liberties Association file motion seeking to strike down new law

Quebec’s new law on religious symbols is not yet one day old, but it’s already facing a constitutional challenge.

The National Council of Canadian Muslims and the Canadian Civil Liberties Association filed a motion in Quebec Superior Court this morning seeking an injunction and asking that the law be declared invalid.

The law, which was passed by the National Assembly late Sunday night, bars public school teachers, police officers and government lawyers — among other civil servants in positions of authority — from wearing religious symbols while at work.

The court challenge is being filed on behalf of Ichrak Nourel Hak, an education student and a Muslim who will be unable to work in Quebec’s public school system unless she removes her hijab.

    Legal hurdle

Mounting a successful case against the law faces at least one significant hurdle. The law invokes the notwithstanding clause, which protects it from being contested on the grounds that it violates certain sections of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

However, the motion filed this morning avoids claiming the new rules contravene specific sections of the charter.

Instead, it argues that the law amounts to criminal legislation which provinces do not have the authority to pass.

It also argues that by limiting access to certain public institutions, the law violates the equality “guaranteed by the very existence of a multicultural, democratic Canadian federation.”

The two groups challenging the law have scheduled a news conference for 2 p.m. ET on the steps of the Montreal courthouse.

A protest is also planned for this evening in Montreal.

    • USA: Play based on FBI officials’ anti-Trump texts performed in DC

A play based on anti-Trump text messages sent between two undercover FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page was performed at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington DC on Thursday.

The messages exchanged between the two were revealed in 2017, exposing their anti-Trump sentiments as the two engaged in an affair while investigating the president for alleged election collusion with Russia.

The play, called “FBI LOVEBIRDS: UnderCovers,” was initially slated to be filmed before a live audience at the Studio Theatre in the American capital, but after a threat of violence the venue cancelled the performance.

The creators eventually found a new location for the play at the amphitheatre of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

The author of the project, Phelim McAleer, explained that “many in the FBI were really ashamed” by the two agents “politicizing the FBI.” Hollywood actors Dean Cain and Kristy Swanson will be filmed reading transcripts of the messages in front of the audience, and afterwards the recording will be published online.
