Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • I recently read a study that found that The Pill (contraceptive) interferes with female ‘bonding chemicals’…meaning that if a woman (is it still OK to use this word?) is taking oral contraceptives, these will chemically interfere with her ability to pair-bond to her mate.

    “DORTMUND city centre is on lockdown after a shooting, with the gunman at large.

    A man was shot this morning on Weissenburger Strasse in the north east of the city. Police said the perpetrator is still at large and still be armed. A police spokesman said:

    “After shooting at a person in Weißenburger Straße in #Dortmund, the perpetrator is still at large. We have strong forces looking for the suspect.”

    Police in Dortmund told people to be vigilant and not to approach the gunman.

    Witnesses told local media they saw a man with a long weapon. Heavily armed police officers have swooped on the area as police vehicles patrol the streets in the hunt for the gunman.

    It is not yet known whether the shooting happened on the street or inside a building.

    Weissenburger Strasse is a main road in a busy residential area. Trams run down the road and services were stopped and searched by police.

    Travellers have been warned some streets may be sealed off temporarily.

    Police spokesman Gunnar Wortmann told Bild: “One person was seriously injured. We are looking for the shooter.

    “We can not provide any information on the background of the incident.”

    The shooting happened just days after a riot where more than 80 people were seen throwing missiles and Molotov cocktails in the north of the city.

    Police officers described Monday’s mass brawl as a “major conflict”, with chair legs, wooden slats and tools were also thrown.

    About 150 people were watching the fight, in Schleswiger Platz and police needed back up from across the city to de-escalate the situation.

    “Seven Afghan migrants and one Swedish citizen have been arrested in two separate operations in connection with a case of rape, with one suspect being involved with a migrant integration charity.

    The first round of arrests occurred in the middle of May, and were followed in June with several more suspects. All of the suspects are between 20 to 26 years old with most of the suspects residing in Östersund, Sweden, Nyheter Idag reports.

    The rape attack or attacks are said to have occurred between the 3rd and 8th of May but police have not shared the full and specific details in the case.

    Several details regarding the suspects have come to light, such as one of the men having been convicted twice for assault in 2014 and 2015, while another is said to have worked at the asylum seeker integration charity Hej främling! (“Hi stranger!”) which fired him upon being notified of his arrest.

    The charity, which describes itself as bringing together Swedes and asylum seekers for various sporting and outdoor activities to help integrate new arrivals, released a statement on the arrest of the former worker saying: “We have zero tolerance with regard to crime, so we are serious about this.”

    Maria Svensson Wiklander, chairman of the group, said they knew the former volunteer had been convicted of a crime before his current arrest, but argued: “Everyone is worth the chance. It is also something we assume in our business, that one should have a second chance to get out of crime and abuse.”

    According to a report from Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, the vast majority of those convicted for gang rapes in Sweden are from migrant backgrounds. The report followed another study that reached the same conclusions taken by tabloid Expressen earlier last year.”

    Judge Ragnar Palmkvist said Wednesday there was “not sufficient evidence” against Idrisson and two others that they were planning terrorist offenses. The two other defendants had already been acquitted in the case by a lower court.

    The Svea Court upheld guilty verdicts and prison sentences of between four and six months against all three for financing IS by sending up to 20,000 kronor ($2,120) each.”

    Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, ex-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and ex-NATO commander Wesley Clark were joined by other world leaders at Skenderbeu Square downtown the capital, Pristina.

    Recalling the intervention, Albright described how Clinton woke her up in the night to tell her that jets had left for Kosovo, saying: “We are doing the right thing!”

    “We did it because our cause was fair,” she said. “We will never forget about you. The future belongs to you.”

    Long applause broke out in the square, and some held a big U.S. flag and shouted “U.S.A.!”

    Clinton called on Kosovars to “never forget the challenges” ahead.

    “A new form of courage and patience is needed to build the future,” he said.

    Kosovo’s 1998-99 war ended with a 78-day NATO air campaign. It declared independence from Serbia in 2008, but Belgrade — along with countries including Russia and China — do not recognize it and relations remain tense.

    A European Union-facilitated dialogue between the two sides since 2011 has stalled.

    Kosovo’s independence is recognized by 115 countries.”

    • He is ignolring the fact that the Chinese Government keeping the people employed will soak up more money then they have and printing money to cover the bill will start inflation and devaluation that will create more problems for China. China is in a very poor position to fight a trade war since they are an export economy and will have to find other nations that will increase their purchases to cover for what they aren’t selling in the US.

      In other words it won’t be a soft landing for their economy but if they work it right it will be a semi hard landing that the CCP can survive.

    HONG KONG, June 12 (Reuters) – Hong Kong police fired rubber bullets and tear gas at demonstrators who threw plastic bottles on Wednesday as protests against an extradition bill that would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial descended into violent chaos.

    Tens of thousands of protesters had gathered peacefully outside the Chinese-ruled city’s legislature before tempers flared, some charging police with umbrellas.

    Police warned them back, saying: “We will use force.”

    Ambulances sped towards the protest area as panic spread through the crowd, with many people trying to flee the stinging tear gas, according to a Reuters witness. More than 10 people were wounded in the clashes, Cable TV reported.

    Police used pepper spray, tear gas and batons to force the crowds back. Some shops put up their shutters at the nearby IFC, one of Hong Kong’s tallest buildings.

    Civil Human Rights Front, which organised a protest on Sunday that it estimated saw more than a million people take to the streets in protest against the extradition bill, accused police of using unnecessary violence.

    The protesters, most of them young people dressed in black, had erected barricades as they prepared to hunker down for an extended occupation of the area, in scenes reminiscent of pro-democracy “Occupy” protests that gridlocked the former British colony in 2014.

    “Swedish police have walked back on comments made about the prevalence of religious extremism in “vulnerable areas” across the country, suggesting that there may have been a problem with radical Christian extremism.

    The initial comments were made on broadcaster Sveriges Radio by Mats Löfving, head of the National Operational Department (NOA), in response to a question on whether or not Islamic extremism was specifically an issue in the “vulnerable areas” that are often referred to as no-go areas, Nyheter Idag reports.

    Löfving suggested that the problem was not with Islamic extremism in particular but with extremists of all religions.

    When the Sveriges Radio reporter asked if that included Christians, Buddhists, and others, Löfving said: “Yes exactly. Together with the security police, we see that different forms of recruitment, different forms of bringing young people towards extremist views are stronger in vulnerable areas than generally in society.”

    Christian newspaper Dagen confronted the police over the comments and received a statement from press officer Katarina Friskman who walked back on the comments saying: “There is no direct Christian extremism to speak of.”

    Islamic radicalism in no-go areas has been highlighted by both politicians and residents of the areas alike. Last year, the Moderate Party even pushed for the criminalisation of so-called “morality police” operating in no-go areas, arguing that religious radicals were committing an “unlawful restriction of freedom” against women and others.

    In 2017, several outspoken feminists in the Swedish capital of Stockholm complained of the influence of Islamic radicals in no-go areas like Tensta and Husby.

    Nalin Pekgul, a feminist and former member of the Social Democrats, claimed that radical religious men had taken over public spaces and said she no longer went to the centre of the suburb saying: “In Tensta I am a known face and I have no desire to stir up trouble when I get harassed.””

    Attackers threw rocks at a mosque in the central German city of Kassel on Sunday while some 50 Qurans – the holy book of Islam – were damaged in another attack on a mosque in northwest Bremen.

    The Central Mosque in Kassel, which operates under the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (DITIB), was attacked early Sunday by unidentified suspects.

    Kassel Central Mosque Foundation Chairman Seyfettin Eryörük said that the mosque was targeted with rocks at a time when no one was in the building, adding that the windows were broken in the attack.

    Turkey’s Consul General in Frankfurt Burak Kararti condemned the attack in a statement he shared on social media, urging security forces to find the perpetrators.

    The Kassel Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the attack.

    The same mosque was attacked by PKK sympathizers in previous years and the perpetrators of the incident were not apprehended.

    Meanwhile, 50 Qurans in Rahman Mosque in Germany’s Bremen were damaged by attackers who threw some of the holy books into the toilet, reports said.

    Muslims living in the city expressed their sorrow over the anti-Muslim attack on social media, urging authorities forces to take action. The attack came less than two weeks after a man shouting anti-Muslim slurs on a Bremen tram stabbed a 16-year-old teen in the neck with a knife.

    Bremen State Deputy of the Christian Democratic Union Party (CDU) Oguzhan Yazici told Anadolu Agency that he strongly condemns the ugly attack targeting Rahman Mosque, which operates under the Bremen Islamic Council.

    “After the news of the stabbing of a Muslim teenager last week, we now receive news that the Holy Quran has been destroyed. Muslims from Bremen is very nervous and anxious. Like synagogues, mosques should be well protected by the state,” Yazici said, adding that the government should take these events more seriously and develop persistent measures against hostility toward Muslims.

    German police said Wednesday that the attacker who stabbed the Muslim teenager in Bremen on May 31 had been arrested. The teen suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his neck and is receiving treatment at a hospital.

    Anti-Muslim attacks have been on the rise in Germany in recent years, fueled by propaganda from far-right parties, which have exploited fears over the refugee crisis and terrorism.

    Police recorded 813 hate crimes against Muslims last year. At least 54 Muslims were injured in the attacks, which were carried out mostly by far-right extremists. Along with attacks based on far-right motives, mosques have been frequently hit by supporters of the PKK terrorist organization in recent years.

    Last week, threatening letters including Nazi and nuclear weapons symbols were left in mailboxes of Turkish citizens in Cologne. Written in the letters, which were found in some citizens’ mailboxes located in the city’s Keup Street, were hate messages, including, “You are just like Jews. Soon, attacks will start to target you.”

    Germany, a country of over 81 million people, has the second-largest Muslim population in Western Europe after France. Among the country’s nearly 4.7 million Muslims, 3 million are of Turkish origin. Many Turkish origin Germans are second- and third-generation German-born citizens of Turkish descent whose grandparents moved to the country during the 1960s.

    Ankara has been calling on Western governments to embrace a stronger stance against rising anti-Islam attacks worldwide.

    “It is obvious that these attacks will increase as long as Western politicians and media do not have strong reactions,” Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gül said Sunday during his visit to New Haven Diyanet Mosque in Connecticut, which was attacked on May 12, the seventh day of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month during which Muslims fast and pray.

  49. UNHCR urges Italy to reconsider proposed decree affecting rescue at sea in the Central Mediterranean

    UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is concerned at a recent decree from the Government of Italy that contains several provisions affecting refugees and migrants, including fines for NGO vessels engaged in saving lives at sea.

    Sea rescue is a long-standing humanitarian imperative. It is also an obligation under international law. No vessel or shipmaster should be at risk of a fine for coming to the aid of boats in distress and where loss of life may be imminent.

    “At a time when European states have largely withdrawn from rescue efforts in the Central Mediterranean, NGO vessels are more crucial than ever,” said Roland Schilling, UNHCR Regional Representative to Southern Europe ad interim. “Without them, it is inevitable that more lives will be lost.”

    Of further concern to UNHCR is that the decree may result in shipmasters being penalized for refusing to disembark rescued people in Libya. In light of the extremely volatile security situation, widespread reports of human rights violations and routine use of detention for people rescued or intercepted at sea, no one should be returned to Libya.

    UNHCR has stated repeatedly its view that robust search and rescue capacity, particularly in the Central Mediterranean, needs to be coupled with a regional mechanism allowing quick, predictable and safe disembarkation. Responsibility for rescued refugees and migrants needs to be shared among States, not left to one or two.

    UNHCR is calling on the Italian Government to reconsider the decree and for Parliament to amend it with a focus on refugee protection and saving lives at its core.

    The decree that would see organizations that bring migrants rescued at sea to Italy without permission facing fines up to 50,000 euros.

    “An Egyptian military court has sentenced 32 people to life in prison on terror charges including plotting to assassinate President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi.

    The court in Cairo Wednesday said the defendants attempted the president’s assassination twice, including when he was on pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia in 2014.

    The court also sentenced 264 other defendants, to three to 15 years in prison, all on terror charges, including militant attacks in the Sinai. Two were acquitted, and one defendant died during the trail, while a minor was referred another court.

    Nearly half of the defendants were tried in absentia. The verdict can be appealed.

    Rights groups have repeatedly criticized such mass sentencings in Egypt and have called on authorities to ensure fair trials.”
