In November 2018, Saudi Arabia signed a letter of offer and acceptance with the United States for the purchase of the THAAD missile defence system. The $15 billion deal was seen as paving the way for the sale of 44 THAAD launchers, missiles and equipment.

“ISIS bride Shamima Begum has begged the UK for a second chance and claimed she regrets leaving Britain to join the terror group in Syria.
The runaway schoolgirl was stripped of her British citizenship after being found in a Syrian refugee camp in February. Begum notoriously fled Bethnal Green in 2015 but now insists she “regrets everything”, including having children with her jihadi husband. The 19-year-old has also said she was “brainwashed” and knew little about Islam when she left.
She told The Times: “Since I left Baghuz I really regretted everything I did, and I feel like I want to go back to the UK for a second chance to start my life over again.
“I was brainwashed. I came here believing everything that I had been told, while knowing little about the truths of my religion.

Begum was heavily pregnant when she was found in a Syrian refugee camp following the collapse of ISIS.

Last month, her newborn son Jarrah died in the refugee camp.
Begum had hoped to return to Britain with the baby, after losing her first two children with Dutch fighter Yago Riedijk.
Her family have launched an appeal against Home Secretary Sajid Javid’s decision to revoke her UK citizenship.
The family’s lawyer, Tasnime Akunjee, said it breaches the European Convention on Human Rights.
He said: “We are arguing the decision is wrong because it renders Shamima Begum stateless, it puts her life at risk, exposes her to inhumane and degrading treatment, and breaches her right to family life.
“The decision was disproportionate. To strip her citizenship, the Home Secretary has to balance the risk she poses versus the effect on her.””

While Hamouda was freed from jail in February this year, Egyptian authorities stopped him boarding a Brisbane-bound flight in Cairo last month, despite Australian consular officials having escorted him to the airport.
Hamouda’s 30-year-old daughter Lamisse Hamouda called on Australian leaders to petition Egypt for her father’s release.
“We fear he could be rearrested at any point,” she said Tuesday.

Waves of protest sweeping across Algeria and Sudan suggest a second manifestation of the Arab Spring is well underway in the Middle East. They bear a similar resemblance to the first wave witnessed in 2011.
But it feels more mature in its approach and realistic in its aspirations. The new faces of the revolution have learnt from the mistakes that have gone before. They are aware of the dangers that the militarisation of peaceful protests pose to the effectiveness of the movement.
Despite the different context behind this new round of protests, the same underlying motive that drove the first wave in 2010-11 now drives the second. Social, political and economic conditions are deteriorating. In fact, they have only worsened since then and show no signs of abating.
Instead of tackling this social and political collapse, the state silences dissident voices that raise them. Worse still, not only freedom of speech, these regimes now criminalise the freedom to be silent.
They see it as a form of passive opposition. This has increasingly led to intellectuals and journalists across the region being imprisoned and tortured. So prevalent is the fear of uprising through dialogue and free thought within these dictatorial regimes.
Jamal’s brutal murder by the Saudi government is a case in point.
It wasn’t only Jamal’s criticism of the regime’s policies that led to his gruesome killing, but his refusal to shower unconditional praise on the Saudi’s counter-revolutionary agenda.
The persistent protests of once silent societies have deepened these regimes paranoia. Instead of listening to the demands of the people, Arab dictators have further invested in the means of repression, heavily cracking down on any form of opposition.
According to Human Rights Watch, since the 2013 coup, the Sisi regime in Egypt have arrested at least 60,000 people, while forcibly disappearing thousands more. This level of mob rule and brutality is unprecedented, even during Egypt’s darkest days of military rule.
Bereft of any clear vision for the future, these regimes have instead engaged in the complete obliteration of public and private debate. There is no longer room for even the suggestion of an alternative vision for the future. The result has been the intensification of brutality that far exceeds that of the pre-Arab Spring years.
No longer do the leaders in the Arab world bother to pretend as if they are undertaking any form of reform or measures of ‘authoritarian upgrading’ in order to appeal to the international community or its institutions. This flagrant disregard for laws and norms has, in return, hollowed out the legitimacy of political institutions across the Middle East.
We are indeed reaching a crisis point. People’s trust in the traditional institution of political participation has vanished almost entirely, and with it, any ill-conceived notion from the international community about the ability of these regimes to bring stability to their countries.
Arab dictators are suffering from a feeling of ‘authoritarian illusion’; detached from the principles of democracy and protected by generations of longevity and permanence of their premiership.
But with every action comes an equal and opposite reaction. This second wave of the Arab uprisings was a direct response to the abuse of power within these political offices.
Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s quest for a fifth term in presidency in Algeria, Omar al Bashir’s attempt to change the constitution in Sudan in December; both were the political spark that lit the fuse of the powder kegs on which their nations sit.
This is something that Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el Sisi should take note of when pushing for constitutional changes that will allow him to remain in power until 2034.
The root of these political abuses, the militarisation and personalisation of power, were where Jamal directed his criticism at the heart of the Saudi regime and beyond. He recognised the inherent injustice and limited scope for progression in a system that denied people the freedom of individual thought.
Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) was the name of the initiative that Jamal was keenly working on before murderers took his life. Likewise, the title of his last piece that appeared posthumously was “What the Arab world needs most is free expression”.
This name and title well epitomised Jamal’s struggle, ideals and spirit. They also illustrate how much Jamal’s tragic fate was intertwined with that of the Arab Spring. His murder was meant to scare the people and silence the critics.
Yet the reverse has happened. The spirit of Jamal is now haunting the Arab dictators and shaping this second phase of Arab uprising.”

There is a developmental stage that some 10-year olds go through. These children have a diagnosis of OCD and anxiety. The video platform is removing the far-right activist’s videos from search results and stopping him live-streaming.
YouTube has placed sweeping new restrictions on far-right activist Tommy Robinson’s channel, removing his videos from search results and prohibiting him from live-streaming to the platform, BuzzFeed News can reveal.
The clampdown follows demands from senior MPs from both Britain’s main political parties for Google, YouTube’s parent company, to follow Facebook and Twitter’s example in restricting the reach and impact of the anti-Islam campaigner by banning him from their platforms.
While YouTube is stopping short of an outright ban, the restrictions will mean Robinson’s new videos won’t have view counts, suggested videos, likes or comments. There’ll be an “interstitial” or black slate that appears before each video warning people that it might not be appropriate for all audiences.
Robinson will also be prevented from live-streaming onto his channel. Until now, he would do this regularly to reach his nearly 390,000 YouTube subscribers.
YouTube users will be able to access Robinson’s material only by clicking directly on a link for each video. The effect of the changes will be to make his videos undiscoverable.
A YouTube spokesperson said the restrictions came after the company consulted with outside experts and academics about the type of videos appearing on his channel.
“After consulting with third party experts, we are applying a tougher treatment to Tommy Robinson’s channel in keeping with our policies on borderline content,” a YouTube spokesperson said.
“The content will be placed behind an interstitial, removed from recommendations, and stripped of key features including live-streaming, comments, suggested videos, and likes.”
Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is the UK far-right’s most high-profile figure. He recently became the figurehead of the anti-immigration party UKIP, prompting former leader Nigel Farage to abandon the party and denounce it as “obsessed with Islam”.
But battles with the US tech giants and the BBC have also come to dominate Robinson’s recent activism. Social media companies have slowly been taking action against him over the last 12 months. Last year, he was banned from Twitter for breaching the company’s “hateful conduct” policy.
In February, Facebook removed the activist’s page — followed by more than one million people – and said that Robinson had engaged in “organised hate”. The company also shut down his Instagram page.
To communicate with his fans, Robinson now sends out regular updates through email, and he announced recently he had set-up a new Snapchat account.
It remains to be seen whether YouTube’s restrictions on Robinson will be enough to satisfy senior UK politicians who have been pushing for him to be banned from the platform completely after an incident with Mike Stutchbery, a writer with the website Byline.
In a letter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Labour’s deputy leader Tom Watson demanded that Robinson be removed after the activist live-streamed himself visiting the home of Stutchbery.
“I have recently been making the argument that the social media companies have failed to regulate hate speech and harm on their platforms,” Watson wrote. “I would ask that you immediately close down all of Yaxley-Lennon’s sites on YouTube before the virus of his views grooms countless more followers via your platform.”
Responding to Watson’s intervention, Jeremy Wright, the culture secretary, said, “I hope YouTube will consider this very carefully, consider what he has said, what I have said, and reconsider their judgment.”
In a recent interview with fellow UKIP-affiliated YouTuber Sargon of Akkad, Robinson claimed the media was “building me up as the next Adolf Hitler” before criticising social media platforms for banning him. He claimed it was “censorship”.

YouTube has placed a number of major restrictions on Tommy Robinson’s account, making his videos invisible from searches, removing his ability to make live videos, stripping his content of likes and comments, and displaying a warning before each video.
Business Insider reported that the restriction “all-but bans” Robinson from the Google-owned platform.
“Robinson won’t be able to livestream videos on his channel. His videos won’t have suggested videos, likes, or comments,” explained Business Insider. “A black slate or ‘interstitial’ will appear before each video warning viewers that the material may not be appropriate, which they will then have to click through. Robinson’s videos will be removed from YouTube’s ‘recommendations.’”
Robinson will also be unable to monetize his content on YouTube, since the company demonetized his channel earlier this year.
“After consulting with third party experts, we are applying a tougher treatment to Tommy Robinson’s channel in keeping with our policies on borderline content,” claimed a YouTube spokesman.
In February, Robinson was banned from Facebook and Instagram, while last year, Robinson was also restricted from using payment processing service PayPal, which froze his balance.
In 2018, Robinson was also banned from Twitter.
Last year, YouTube banned InfoWars, Alex Jones, and Gavin McInnes, and buried Ann Coulter videos in search results.
YouTube has previously sanctioned users for criticizing CNN, uploading videos featuring left-wing violence against conservatives, and killing suffragette characters in video games.
In January, conservative non-profit group PragerU filed its second lawsuit against Google over alleged censorship of conservative viewpoints on YouTube, and in the same month, it was revealed that Google had been downranking pro-life YouTube videos.
The far-left Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is reportedly a “trusted flagger” for YouTube, however Google CEO Sundar Pichai denied claims that the SPLC had ever flagged a YouTube video before.

“I also felt that you are using one of the most visible symbols of oppression for Muslim women in many countries for solidarity”, she remarked.

The video culminates with a thriller, ending with a hero defeating the ugly monster, whereupon Finns leader Jussi Halla-aho calmly explains that in reality, no one will come and save anybody. According to him, the old parties won’t change their objectives, which is why his compatriots themselves need to vote for change.
Following criticism from left-wing activists, Finland’s cinema company Finnkino, which is owned by US-based AMC Theaters, decided to stop the Finns’ election film from being aired in their cinemas.
“Finnkino stands up for tolerance, freedom of expression and democracy, and does not accept racism or discrimination,” Finnkino tweeted.
This marks a conspicuous U-turn, since Finnkino originally announced they had no problems with the video.
Nevertheless, within a matter of several days, the Finnish version of the film gathered hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.
Meanwhile, Finland is heading toward a general election on 14 April, and recent surveys suggest a major hike in popularity for the Finns, who suffered a bitter schism in 2017. Half of the party, including its founder and perennial leader Timo Soini, left to form the Blue Reform party. In Finnish and Swedish, the Finns are still known as the True Finns and remain opposed to globalisation and immigration.

“The Swedish Crime Prevention Council Brå has commissioned a study comparing crime rates of native Swedes to migrants.
According to the agency, the study was commissioned after a “great demand” for statistics relating to the relationship between mass migration and crime.
“A study will be carried out regarding registered suspicions of crimes among persons with a domestic and foreign background. The study will contain similar issues as in the authority’s study from 2005, but its design will make it possible to follow developments over time and also highlight more issues than in the previous study,” Brå said in a press release.
“A number of crimes are to be examined including violent crimes and sexual crimes such as rape and sexual assaults. A new study is needed for decision makers to have access to updated data. The results are planned to be published in early 2021,” they added.
Brå also noted that they want to pay more attention to asylum homes and measure their vulnerability to criminality in order to examine ways to lower rates of crime in them. This separate study is expected to be released a year prior to the crime rate study in 2020.
Due to the lack of official statistics on migrant crime, several Swedish newspapers have attempted to create their own studies last year with two papers, Expressen and Aftonbladet, finding that men of migrant origin were vastly overrepresented in cases of gang rape.
Later that year, Swedish public broadcaster SVT published findings from its own study on migrant crime shortly before the country’s national election.
The study looked into cases of rape and attempted rape and found that 58 per cent of all cases with convictions involved foreign-background men.
When the study looked at violent rapes in which the victim did not know her attacker, the number of migrants rose to more than eight in ten.”

“Europe must take a “proactive approach” to increasing the level of immigration to the bloc, according to a new European Commission report proclaiming migrants would become “increasingly important” in the EU strategy for economic growth.
According to a ‘fitness check’ of European laws on legal immigration, adopted on Friday as part of Brussels’ Regulatory Fitness and Performance (REFIT) scheme, current EU rules were said to be “largely fit for purpose”.
However a number of supposedly “critical issues” resulting in the rules having only a “limited impact vis-à-vis the overall migration challenges that Europe is facing” were identified by the Commission in its assessment.
Asserting that authorities in Brussels are working towards developing a “common legal migration policy” which would be forced on every country in the bloc, the report called for “a wide range of measures” in order to reach this goal.
Many of the issues identified focused on achieving greater “harmonisation” of rules across EU nations — or the removal of national sovereignty regarding immigration controls — with the goal of creating “a level playing field across member states” in areas such as admission conditions and so-called human rights including “the level of rights granted to third-country nationals and on the protection of family life”.
In addition to demanding “stronger enforcement” of minimum ‘requirements dictated by Brussels, the assessment also argued that more efforts were needed to “raise awareness” of EU rules granting ‘rights’ to non-European nationals.
Alleging that migration was “likely to play an increasingly important role in addressing labour and skills shortages in an ageing European society”, one major conclusion of the ‘fitness check’ was that Europe requires a “more effective approach to attract highly skilled workers from third countries, as the Commission had proposed in the Blue Card reform”.
While Brussels insists the Blue Card programme is designed to enable only highly-skilled migration to Europe, Breitbart London has previously reported how EU documents acknowledged that the proposed changes — aimed at making the prospect of life in Europe “more attractive” to people in the third world — clearly contradict this, admitting it would be necessary to provide newcomers with education, employment, and vocational training.
Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos said: “As we move from crisis management to finding long-term structural approaches to migration, a more proactive approach to managing legal migration is needed.

“The Australian lawmaker who had an egg cracked on his head by a teenage boy for his comments about last month’s New Zealand mosque shootings faced a stinging attack on Tuesday in the first sitting of Australia’s Parliament since the attacks.
Independent Sen. Fraser Anning was the target of widespread condemnation after the Christchurch shootings, in which 50 people died, when he blamed the massacre on immigration policies that he said allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand.
Australian white supremacist Brenton Tarrant has been charged with murder in the shootings.
After his comments, Anning faced more criticism for physically striking the teenager who cracked an egg on his head at a Melbourne public appearance — 17-year-old Will Connolly, who became known around the world as “Egg Boy.”
Anning will face an official censure motion in Parliament on Wednesday for the comments, which caused more than a million people to sign an online petition calling for his removal from the national legislature.
But when Parliament resumed in Canberra on Tuesday following a monthlong break, one senior fellow lawmaker took the opportunity to lash out at Anning.
Echoing Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s comment that Anning should be charged for striking Connolly, acting government Senate leader Simon Birmingham attacked Anning for his lack of humanity after the shootings.
“The lack of compassion you have shown demonstrates, frankly, a basic lack of basic humanity,” Birmingham told Anning, adding that his conduct “betrays the rights you have to freedom of speech.”
Birmingham said Anning acted in a way that would potentially fuel more acts of terrorism and violence.
“You have failed the test of character I would expect of anybody who is elected to this place,” he said.
Birmingham’s outburst came after Anning arrived at Parliament saying he had “no remorse” over his comments. Anning then used the Senate’s question time to bring up the egging incident. He quizzed the government about its response to the episode, asking whether it believed politically motivated violence was acceptable in some circumstances.
Birmingham accused Anning of drawing a comparison between his comments about the Christchurch massacre and the egging incident, and said it was an “appalling comparison.”
Wednesday’s censure motion against Anning has support from both sides of Parliament.
After New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern previously called Anning’s comments on the shootings “a disgrace,” her deputy Winston Peters on Tuesday called Anning a “jingoistic moron.”
“I would call him a four-flushing, jingoistic moron, but you already know that in Australia,” Peters said in a television interview with Australia’s Sky News.
Immediately after Anning’s response to the massacre last month, Morrison said the comments were “appalling and they’re ugly and they have no place in Australia.”

Adil Shah Adil, spokesman for the provincial police chief, says that five other members of the security forces were wounded in Monday night’s attack in the district of Sholgara.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but Adil blamed the Taliban who are active in Balkh, especially in Sholgara, and have repeatedly struck checkpoints there.
Adil says there were also casualties among the Taliban as a three-hour shootout ensued at the checkpoint but he couldn’t provide an exact number.

Residents in a Texas border town say they are living in fear of so-called “cartel coyotes.” According to residents near the Falfurrias border checkpoint on Monday, the area has become a stomping ground for human traffickers.
One rancher — identified only as Solia — said she regularly sees armed cartel gunman directing groups of illegal migrants as with as many as 70 people through her property in hopes of bypassing border check points. She also said the groups frequently threaten residents to stay quiet.

LONDON/BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The European Union said on Tuesday that Britain could be heading for a potentially disorderly exit in just 10 days time as Prime Minister Theresa May met with ministers to thrash out ways to break the Brexit deadlock.
Nearly three years since the United Kingdom voted to leave the EU in a shock referendum result, May’s exit strategy is up in the air as her government and party are still squabbling over how, when or even if Brexit should happen.
May’s divorce deal has been defeated three times by the lower house of the British parliament, which failed on Monday to find a majority of its own for any alternatives. She is expected to try to put her deal to a fourth vote this week.
The deadlock has already delayed Brexit for at least two weeks beyond the planned departure date to 2200 GMT on April 12.

A nonprofit group partially funded by billionaire activist George Soros paid firms tied to Fusion GPS and dossier author Christopher Steele more than $3.8 million in 2017 to provide research and analysis to “government entities,” according to IRS filings.
The payments made by The Democracy Integrity Project are more than three times what the DNC and the Clinton campaign paid Fusion GPS and Steele during the 2016 presidential campaign to investigate Donald Trump’s possible ties to Russia.
Perkins Coie, the law firm that represented the DNC and Clinton campaign, paid $1 million to Fusion GPS in 2016 to investigate Trump. Fusion GPS in turn paid Steele, a former MI6 officer, nearly $170,000 for a project that resulted in the infamous Steele dossier.

What if you cried “Bots!” and a lot of real people showed up?
That’s what happened this week to a pair of Soros-funded Israeli analysts and media outlets Yediot Aharonot and the New York Times.
Noam Rotem and Yuval Adam of the Big Bots Project published a report claiming that “a network of hundreds of fake social media accounts” was behind online support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is waging his campaign for a 9 April national election as the long-time leader of the Likud Party. The report, picked up by Yediot Aharonot and the New York Times in an article by Ronen Bergman, identified several social media accounts individually by their user names, analyzing their profiles and behavior as that of bots.
The problem: the users in question are in fact real people. And they’ve been coming out of the woodwork to certify that to a waiting world.

Turns out, maybe, Hamas was just following orders when they started the latest assault against Israelis. Iranian orders. It’s one of three versions Hamas leaders and spokesmen have trotted out, ranging from technical error to sheer accident. The most interesting is “the Iranians ordered it.” Why? To play electoral politics; to turn Israeli voters against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
This interests me because it fits with the Iranians’ increasingly frantic search for some kind of solution to their great national unraveling. Electoral politics is central to what national security and foreign policy writer Adam Kredo calls Iran’s new long-term strategy versus the United States. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei [pictured above] has decided, Kredo says, to hang on to power until 2020, when he hopes President Trump will be voted out of office and friendlier Democrats will take over.
This bespeaks a failure by the regime to design a winning strategy, and you can see this failure across the board, beginning with the financial straits in which Hezbollah is now suffering. Hezbollah is looking for a way to make its evil ends meet. In March, its chief Hassan Nasrallah made an unprecedented appeal for donations. Hezbollah isn’t paying salaries to a goodly number of its fighters, which means Iran isn’t fulfilling its promises to them. Virginia Governor Who Supported Infanticide Signs Bill to Make Animal Cruelty a Felony
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has a clear moral disconnect.
Earlier this year, Governor Northam came under massive national criticism for appearing on a radio show and supporting infanticide. During his interview he advocated for merely keeping babies comfortable as parents leave them to die shortly after birth.
Northam defended a radical pro-abortion bill that would have allowed unborn babies to be aborted up to the point when a woman is about to give birth. The governor not only defended the legislation, but he also said doctors and women could have a discussion about whether to leave a disabled newborn baby to die.
Later, Northam refused to disavow his comments when he endorsed infanticide, saying: “I don’t have any regrets.”
While protecting newborn babies who survive abortions is apparently too much for Northam to support, a law against animal cruelty isn’t. Today he signed a new bill into law that would make animal cruelty a felony in the commonwealth.
