       • The blood transfusion point I can agree with in theory but I must disagree. How often has this occurred? I would like to see some stats and not emotionalism on the subject before I would even consider that that it is akin to terrorism and even then with todays MSM truth problem I still think it risky. I do know that in the past, we never took any notice of them if the child’s life was threatened but what happens now I have no idea. IMO the beat up of JWs is like the media beat up of Scientology and while both have marked problems ( and I have no time for either) IMO they pall compared with Islamic terrorism and to even hint that they are is quite OOT.

           I tend to agree (except how Scientology, with its Lizard Kings, has more than just “marked problems”). Still, letting one group escape responsibility emboldens far less deserving groups to demand the same privileges or (usually) more.

           For example, ANYTHING the Somalis ask for or get (except beatdowns).

   • Perfect story, NR. I live in a neighborhood with a Whole Foods, and long famous for its population of socialist profs because of its proximity between two universities. It has always amazed me how these people bought such lovely homes without ever seeming to break a sweat, while I have worked day and night, risked capital, and worried about the return of my capital at risk. It took a long time for me to realize just how much money there was to be had at the public teat, and that you had better be missing substantial self-scrutiny lest you realize your parasitic existance. Of course, not all professors are socialists. However will suggest that all socialists are hypocrits, and willfully ignorant about wealth, money, and how capital is generated.

    Troops arrived at a checkpoint set up by an indigenous community in Kumarakapai, on Venezuela’s southern border with Brazil early this morning.

    But when civilians tried to block a convoy of tanks, soldiers opened fire killing a woman named as Zorayda Rodriguez, 42, and wounding 12 others. Gran Sabana Mayor Emilio Gonzalez said soldiers fired rubber bullets and tear gas and the injured people were taken for medical treatment.

    The villagers are believed to have been trying to keep open a section of the border so that aid could be moved into the area from Brazil. President Nicolas Maduro ordered the frontier with the country shut yesterday and is now considering shutting the border with Colombia.

    Maduro is closing off his country to the West as his opposition rival Juan Guaido attempts to claim power having declared himself interim president, vowing to personally bring in US humanitarian aid on Saturday.

    Russia has accused the US of using aid deliveries to Venezuela as a ploy to carry out military action against Maduro’s government.       • Yes we need to move on Maduro and help the Venezuelan people, right now it is politically impossible for open intervention. As far as covert intervention goes it is unlikely that we could keep that quiet since there are still a bunch of Obama loyalists embedded in all branches of the US Government including the Military.

        It would be nice if we could get Brazil to move in and liberate Venezuela but given South American history that is impossible. There will be less bad publicity and right now little to now Venezuelan citizens talking against a US intervention.

        I wonder how much of what is happening is instigated by Russia and China hoping we will be forced to pull people out of the Middle East and the Far East? Those moves would make it easier for Russia and China to further their plans in those regions.

    Ocasio-Cortez claimed in a viral tweet that Holmes “helps run a multimillion dollar operation to have bot accounts manipulate online discourse.” There is no evidence to support that claim, which the congresswoman deleted after criticism online.

    Iran’s Fars News reported Thursday that Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Aerospace Force, claimed Iran had been able to hack into a “U.S. Army command center” and seize control of drones being operated in Iraq and Syria. Adam Kredo followed up on this with a report at the Washington Free Beacon.

The agency published video footage claiming that it had been shot by the US drones that were allegedly hacked by Iran. Iranian military officials haven’t confirmed the video’s authenticity.

      Among other things, the footage shows the crash-landing and subsequent destruction of a drone by the airstrike. The video was possibly shot in 2016 in Syria, where an MQ-9 Reaper Drone crashed in July 2016. The US Air Force then reported that it crashed due to an operator losing control of the UAV and not due to “enemy fire”. The drone was later destroyed by a “coalition aircraft” strike.

      In one of the most famous episodes of “drone hijacking” Iran managed to intercept control over a US RQ-170 Sentinel flying over the Islamic Republic and then safely land almost intact on December 4. A week later then US President Barak Obama asked Tehran to return the drone, but Iran refused to do so and instead used it to reverse engineer its own drone — Sa’egheh. It inherited the RQ-170’s stealth design, but was modified from a being purely reconnaissance aircraft to one capable of airstrikes.”

      There’s also this unheard of concept called a “dead man’s switch”. I’d bet the farm there’s one on every foreign-deployed drone and that is interlocked to a couple of things:

      • No unauthorized soft landings or crashes (e.g., flameouts, engine failures or fuel-outs) without self-destruct.

      • No signal piggybacking, aliasing or command control-loss jamming without self-destruct.

      • Basically no anything without the bird phoning home on a private line for some advice from mom.

      And you’d probably be best off betting your’s and your uncle bob’s farms that all vehicle–HQ transmissions are in a frequency-hopping burst mode and that the mission abort, return-to-base, and self-destruct channels EACH happen on a dedicated RF sidelobe or CF (Center-Frequency) entirely different from that of the coarse and fine navigation controls or any autonomous operation permissions.

    He was charged with one count of encouraging terrorism and another of failing to disclose information to police.

    He pleaded guilty to both charges and was jailed for four-and-a-half years at Birmingham Crown Court today.

    Judge Melbourne Inman QC said: ‘The prosecution has said that you have long been a supporter of terrorism.

    ‘In June 2014 you were writing posts about a prescribed terrorist organisation IS – and about the establishment of the Caliphate.

    ‘Thereafter in 2015 you had tweeted [a picture of] a t-shirt showing support for the attack on the Charlie Hebdo office.

    ‘In 2017 you said after the Manchester Arena bombing that Manchester should be apologising and not the other way around.

    ‘You have expressed you support for IS and expressed support for them around the world.

    ‘You have sent letters to convicted terrorists and said they have been an inspiration to you.

    ‘You have asked people to pray for a man who travelled to the Philippines for Jihad.

    ‘Against that background is your message of August 16 last year – they are clearly supportive of terrorist activities that seek to impose an interpretation of Islam on others.

    ‘It is clear, because of your association and inference you are sufficiently deeply involved that you know who shares such beliefs, who are themselves deeply involved in terrorist activities.

    ‘You made it clear that you reject the laws of this country and you consider that you live outside the law – given you support for terrorism that makes you a very dangerous individual.

    ‘You clearly believe that you are above the law.

    ‘Your cellphone was the only way the police would have been able to find the posting, in the end they found it by going through Facebook.

    “A police force has been found guilty of discrimination after it refused to give a potential recruit a job because he was a white heterosexual man.

    Cheshire Police are believed to be the first organisation in the UK to be found guilty of using positive action to discriminate by deciding to shun 25-year-old Matthew Furlong in 2017.

    The force rejected him while in the midst of a diversity drive after a report found in 2015 it was one of only four constabularies to have no black officers.

    Mr Furlong, whose father is a serving detective inspector at Cheshire Police, claimed he was told after the interview stage “it was refreshing to meet someone as well prepared as yourself” and that he “could not have done any more”.

    The graduate in particle physics and cosmology was later told he had lost out to other candidates, leading his father to lodge a complaint.

    In a landmark case, Cheshire Police were found to have used positive action to discriminate against Mr Furlong on the grounds of sexual orientation, race and gender.

    An employment tribunal ruled that while positive action can be used to boost diversity, it should only be applied to distinguish between candidates who were all equally well qualified for a role.

    Jennifer Ainscough, an employment lawyer at Slater and Gordon who represented Mr Furlong, said: “Matthew was denied his dream job simply because he was a white, heterosexual male.

    “This is the first reported case of its kind in the UK where positive action has been used in a discriminatory way.

    “Matthew’s courage in speaking out will hopefully ensure it is the last.

    “Had he not been such an exceptional candidate he may not even have suspected anything was wrong and this unlawful and unacceptable selection process may have been allowed to continue.

    “Positive action is an important tool to support a diverse workforce that reflects the community in which we live.

    “However it must be applied lawfully to ensure the highest calibre of candidates are recruited regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation and to ensure standards in police forces are maintained to properly protect our society.”

    The tribunal in Liverpool heard four days of evidence before reaching its conclusion, published earlier this month, that Mr Furlong had been a victim of direct discrimination on the grounds of his sexual orientation, race and sex…”

      Currently, discriminating against people in job recruitment on the basis of certain “protected characteristics”, including race, sex, and sexuality, is technically illegal under the Equality Act of 2010.

      However, excluding certain people — generally white people, or at least white males — from supposed internships, even if they pay more than a typical working-class job, or deprioritising them from training schemes or workshops designed to boost employment prospects, is allowable under the act’s so-called “positive action” provisions.

      While these provisions are deployed with enthusiasm by many British police forces, in the NPCC leader’s view they do not go far enough — and the law should be changed to allow outright “positive discrimination” so the proportion of white people in law enforcement can be reduced more rapidly.

      Ms Thornton, Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police, complained that favouring ethnic minority recruits was “unlawful at the moment,” and “If you want to do something to give a shock to the system and say we can’t wait to 2052 [to bring the proportion of ethnic minority police up to their share of the general population], I think we need to do something different.”

      Ethnic minorities officially account for 14 percent of Britain’s general population, according to the 2011 census — although it is increasing at an exponential rate due to mass migration and higher birth rates among ethnic minority mothers, making it hard for the police to keep pace in terms of the ethnic breakdown of their personnel.

      “I think there’s an argument that we could select on merit and put people into a pool [of recruits] and then appoint on [ethnic] representation,” Thornton suggested, somewhat self-contradictorily.

      “It is a political judgment, isn’t it? How important is this? If it’s important, then I think you need to look at [postive discrimination],” she asserted.”

    While the bill is being floated at a time where Jews are facing rising levels of real-life anti-Semitic attacks driving whole communities out of French cities, the proposal to stifle speech online comes as President Macron faces unprecedented levels of criticism from the anti-government Yellow Vest movement. The French state has cracked down hard on Yellow Vest activists, arresting 8,400 protestors in just a matter of months.

    “The European fight must continue, but it is too slow,” Macron said and compared banning those convicted of hate speech from social media to football hooligans being banned from attending football matches.

    How the government will enforce the ban remains unclear with Secretary of State for Digital Affairs Mounir Mahjoubi saying, “the IP address is what Twitter has on each user who publishes a message on its platform. It must, as soon as possible, send it to the justice system to quickly identify the author and then ‘we can continue’.”

    “It is no longer acceptable today that platforms that have the means to help justice and the police to identify the person who has committed an offence online take several weeks, even months, before giving the information,” Mahjoubi said.

    Some have reacted to the proposal with criticism including French journalist Gabriel Robin who said the proposal could lead to anti-establishment voices, such as mass migration critic Eric Zemmour being totally excluded from social media.

    “Never, I repeat, ever has a liberal government taken so many repressive measures,” he said.

    While Macron and other globalist politicians have pushed for ever increasing laws and regulations to combat hate speech and so-called fake news online, the new proposal would mark a significant shift to the current punishments of fines and prison sentences.”

    Conspiracy theorists look for something new, anticipating a Mueller letdown.

    There’s been no more reliable regurgitator of fantastical Trump-Russia collusion theories than Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff. So when the House Intelligence Committee chairman sits down to describe a “new phase” of the Trump investigation, pay attention. These are the fever swamps into which we will descend after Robert Mueller’s probe.

    The collusionists need a “new phase” as signs grow that the special counsel won’t help realize their reveries of a Donald Trump takedown. They had said Mr. Mueller would provide all the answers. Now that it seems they won’t like his answers, Democrats and media insist that any report will likely prove “anticlimactic” and “inconclusive.” “This is merely the end of Chapter 1,” said Renato Mariotti, a CNN legal “analyst.”

    Mr. Schiff turned this week to a dependable scribe—the Washington Post’s David Ignatius—to lay out the next chapter of the penny dreadful. Mr. Ignatius was the original conduit for the leak about former national security adviser Mike Flynn’s conversations with a Russian ambassador, and the far-fetched claims that Mr. Flynn had violated the Logan Act of 1799. Mr. Schiff has now dictated to Mr. Ignatius a whole new collusion theory. Forget Carter Page, Paul Manafort, George Papadopoulos—whoever. The real Trump-Russia canoodling rests in “Trump’s finances.” The future president was “doing business with Russia” and “seeking Kremlin help.”

    So, no apologies. No acknowledgment that Mr. Schiff & Co. for years have pushed fake stories that accused innocent men and women of being Russian agents. No relieved hope that the country might finally put this behind us. Just a smooth transition—using Russia as a hook—into Mr. Trump’s finances. Mueller who?

    What’s mind-boggling is that reporters would continue to take Mr. Schiff seriously, given his extraordinary record of incorrect and misleading pronouncements. This is the man who, on March 22, 2017, helped launch full-blown hysteria when he said on “Meet the Press” that his committee already had the goods on Trump-Russia collusion.

    “I can’t go into the particulars, but there is more than circumstantial evidence now,” Mr. Schiff declared then. Almost two years later, he’s provided no such evidence and stopped making the claim—undoubtedly because, as the Senate Intelligence Committee has said publicly, no such evidence has been found.

    At an open House Intelligence Committee hearing on March 20, 2017, Mr. Schiff stated as fact numerous crazy accusations from the infamous Steele dossier—giving them early currency and credence. He claimed that former Trump campaign aide Carter Page secretly met with a Vladimir Putin crony and was offered the brokerage of a 19% share in a Russian company. That Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort tapped Mr. Page as a go-between. That the Russians offered the Trump campaign damaging documents on Hillary Clinton in return for a blind eye to Moscow’s Ukraine policy. Mr. Schiff has never acknowledged that all these allegations have been debunked or remain unproved.

    There was Mr. Schiff’s role in plumping the discredited January BuzzFeed story claiming Mr. Mueller had evidence the president directed his former personal lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress. The special counsel’s office issued a rare statement denying the report. There was Mr. Schiff’s theory that the mysterious phone calls Donald Trump Jr. placed before his 2016 meeting with Russians at Trump Tower were to Candidate Trump. Senate Intel shot that down. And don’t forget Mr. Schiff’s February 2018 memo claiming the Steele dossier “did not inform” the FBI probe, because the bureau didn’t obtain it until long after the probe’s start. Testimony from Justice Department officials shot that one down, too.

    With a track record like this, who wouldn’t believe Mr. Schiff’s new claim, in the Ignatius interview, that the key to collusion rests in Trump finances—in particular something to do with Deutsche Bank ? But hold on. Where did we first hear that Deutsche Bank theory? That’s right. See pages 64 and 117 of the wild House testimony of Glenn Simpson—head of Fusion GPS, the organization behind the Steele dossier. It’s right there, stuffed in between Mr. Simpson’s musings that Ivanka Trump might be involved with a “Russian Central Asian organized crime nexus,” that there is something nefarious happening on the “island of St. Martin in the Caribbean,” and that Roger Stone is part of a “Turkey-Russia” plot.

    Mr. Schiff is taking his cue for Phase 2 of his investigation from the same Democrat-hired opposition-research group that launched the failed Phase 1.

    At the start of all the Russia craziness, Mr. Schiff had a choice: maintain the bipartisan integrity of his committee by working with Republicans to find honest answers, or take on the role of resident conspiracy theorist. He chose his path. The rest of us should know better than to follow him.

    “A Swedish court has convicted a 70-year-old man of “hate speech” for claiming on social media that Somalis are lazy and don’t work.

    In a unanimous decision, the district court of Uddevalla handed down a guilty verdict, ordering the man to pay 60 daily fines of SEK 120, for a total of SEK 7200 (700 euros).

    The court said that the man’s Facebook post, which linked to an article by Swedish public broadcaster SVT, was “derogatory” to the reputation of Somalis as a group. In his post, the man contested the article’s claim that some 20 percent of Somalis are out of work in Sweden, adding that Somalis avoid work because “they are the laziest people in this world.”

    As Breitbart News reported, the pensioner was reported to police by the left-wing activist group Näthatsgranskaren, Swedish for “Network Examiner,” which boasts to have reported at least 800 people to the police.

    Several pensioners have been convicted of hate speech in Sweden in recent years, including a case in 2017 in which a Gothenburg man, also in his 70s, was fined some €1,340 for calling Muslims “monkeys” on a Swedish Facebook page that had 4,000 members.

    According to Swedish law, for a remark to be considered hate speech it must denigrate an entire group of people and be derogatory to the group’s reputation.

    In its ruling, the district court said that the elderly man’s comments regarding the alleged laziness of Somalis cannot be perceived in any other way than as “derogatory to the Somalis’ reputation as a group.”

    “It does not express any factual criticism and the purpose of it does not seem to have been to contribute to a constructive debate,” the court said.”

    The militants can count between 5,000 and 7,000 among their ranks in Iraq, where they are hiding out in the rugged terrain of remote areas, according to one intelligence official.

    In Syria, Kurdish-led forces backed by the U.S.-led coalition have cornered the militants in a pocket less than one square kilometer in Baghouz, a Euphrates River village near the 600-kilometer (370-mile) border.

    The Iraqi army has deployed more than 20,000 troops to guard the frontier, but militants are slipping across, mostly to the north of the conflict zone, in tunnels or under the cover of night. Others are entering Iraq disguised as cattle herders.

    They are bringing with them currency and light weapons, according to intelligence reports, and digging up money and arms from caches they stashed away when they controlled a vast swath of northern Iraq.

    This time around, the Southern Poverty Law Center blames the increase in white nationalist hate groups on Trump. And then, confusingly, the increase in black nationalist hate groups on Trump.

    In its Rage Against Change report, the SPLC claims that, “The total number of hate groups rose to 1,020 in 2018, up about 7 percent from 2017. White nationalist groups alone surged by nearly 50 percent last year, growing from 100 chapters in 2017 to 148 in 2018. But at the same time, Trump has energized black nationalist hate groups — typically antisemitic and anti-LGBT organizations — with an increase to 264 from 233 in 2017. ”
