“FEARS Saudi Arabia could be seeking to build nuclear weapons have surged following reports the Kingdom has launched a domestic ballistic missile programme.
According to a report published in The Washington Post, Saudi Arabia appears to have constructed a ballistic missile factory, which could threaten to trigger a new Middle Eastern arms race. Saudi Arabia already owns foreign-brought ballistic missiles but has yet to construct its own. A number of experts have warned this could signal a Saudi desire to become nuclear armed.
Satellite images taken in November appear to show a ballistic missile factory near the town of Al-Watah, according to the report.
The site is situated next to an existing Saudi Arabian missile base.
A team led by nuclear expert Jeffrey Lewis, from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, uncovered the pictures.
Mr Lewis said the images raise “the possibility that Saudi Arabia is going to build longer-range missiles and seek nuclear weapons”.
He warned: “We may be underestimating their desire and their capabilities.”
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman warned last year that Saudi Arabia would seek nuclear weapons if its regional rival Iran acquires them.
He said: “Saudi Arabia does not want to acquire any nuclear bomb, but without a doubt, if Iran developed a nuclear bomb we will follow suit as soon as possible.”
Iran claims its nuclear programme is peaceful, though this is disputed by rival powers.
The US withdrew from an agreement last year aimed at stopping Iran acquiring nuclear weapons.
President Trump claimed Iran had violated the spirit of the agreement by continuing to develop ballistic missiles and funding terror groups across the Middle East.
Fabian Hinz, who works alongside Mr Lewis, told Newsweek “it is difficult to tell” whether Saudi Arabia is attempting to acquire nuclear weapons.
However, he added: “If you want to have nuclear weapons, in general, you also want to have the means to domestically build the delivery systems.””

This is old news. Years ago, after enough Iranian saber-rattling, the Saudis approached Pakistan about purchasing some canned sunshine. This sufficiently unnerved the White House that it behaved properly (for all of fifteen minutes).

Last night a dead woman was found in an apartment building in Altenstadt. According to the current state of the investigation, the woman died as a result of a stab wound. Her 27-year-old partner is suspected of having killed the 22-year-old woman. Yesterday night, 23rd of January 2019, about 03.00 am, the police were called into the Lindenweg street in Altenstadt on the Waldnaab (photo above).Several residents of the house said that there was an injured woman inside the house. The first forces of the Neustadt on the Waldnaab police inspectorate found a dead young woman in the stairwell of the building. Immediately initiated resuscitation measures, which were later continued by an emergency doctor and the rescue service, were unsuccessful. The woman died of her injuries. The victim is a 22-year-old Syrian national. According to the current state of investigations, her 27-year-old partner, also a Syrian citizen, is urgently suspected of having fatally injured the woman with a knife. The crime is said to have been preceded by a dispute. Both lived in the same apartment on the estate. The alleged motives are personal. The man has been provisionally arrested and is currently in police custody. During the interrogation, the man admitted to having stabbed his partner with a knife. The public prosecutor’s office in Weiden intends to request an arrest warrant from the responsible investigating judge. The victim was a mother of two children aged half a year and four years respectively. They were in the house and were not physically injured in the incident. The children were taken into the care of the youth welfare department of the district office Neustadt on the Waldnaab.The criminal police inspection Weiden in the Upper Palatinate has started an extensive investigation on the suspicion of a homicide. They were supported by medical experts from Erlangen and the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office in their work on the crime scene.

Local media report that the horror story unfolded in the winter of 2017, when the 32-year-old victim, who lives in the seaside resort of Sanremo on the Italian Riviera, approached her alleged tormentors on the street to buy drugs.
The men, who are said to be aged between 23 and 50, then abducted her and took her to a home where she was tied to a bed with ropes. She had a “guard” who made sure she could not escape from her molesters, who took turns raping her. The victim says that her kidnappers figured she could become a source of income and invited “clients” to the house to rape her for a fee.
This captivity lasted for nearly two months, she told prosecutors, before she was able to escape her prison. A Belgian media outlet reports that it was her tormentors who let her go.
Italian police are now investigating the claims; the six suspects have been arrested and charged with kidnapping, sexual abuse, and aiding and abetting prostitution.
Four undocumented immigrants from Senegal, Gambia and Nigeria were arrested in another harrowing case in October in connection with the death of a 16-year-old Italian girl in Rome. Prosecutors found that she had approached the men to buy drugs, and died from a drug overdose the same night, after they gang-raped her.
The case made headlines in Italy and fuelled public debate on immigrant-related crime, and triggered protests against Mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi numbering in the thousands.
Europe has seen a wave of sex attacks amid the migrant crisis that first plagued the EU in 2015, when the EU’s open-door refugee policy, spearheaded by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, paved the way for hundreds of thousands of migrants from Northern Africa and Middle East to enter the bloc.

“Official crime figures have revealed a 14 percent jump in the number of homicides recorded in England and Wales, with knife offences hitting the highest level in eight years.
Office for National Statistics (ONS) crime data published Thursday recorded 739 murders over the past year, marking a rise of 90 killings from the 649 which took place in the previous 12 months.
Knives and other sharp objects were involved in around 40 percent of homicides — a rise of 10 percent from the previous year — as the number of knife crimes recorded rose 8 percent to 42,957 in total.
“This is the highest number since the year ending March 2011,” the ONS said, before noting that knife crime is disproportionately concentrated in London, with 35 percent of all crimes involving bladed instruments last year taking place in the capital.
After London, urban areas in West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, and the West Midlands bore the brunt of “higher-harm” crime, with violent offences rising 19 percent from the previous year to total 1,545,544 in the 12 months to September 2018.
During this period, police also recorded a 16 percent increase in the number of rapes to 56,698, and sexual offences rose 14 percent to 158,162, but the ONS said the higher figures were “likely to reflect improvements by the police in how they record crime and in people being more willing to report a sexual offence”.
Helen Ross, of the ONS Centre for Crime and Justice, said: “In recent decades we’ve seen the overall level of crime falling, but in the last year, it remained level. There are variations within this overall figure, depending on the type of crime.
“Burglary, shoplifting and computer misuse are decreasing but others, such as vehicle offences and robbery are rising. We have also seen increases in some types of ‘lower-volume, high-harm’ violence including offences involving knives or sharp instruments.”
Chief Constable Bill Skelly, National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) lead for Crime Recording and Statistics, commented to say that, while increased reporting could account for some of the rise in criminal offences, increases in violent crime were real and “had a devastating impact on victims and families.”
He said: “Rising crime, increased terrorist activity and fewer police officers have put serious strain on the policing we offer to the public…”

“THE UK has returned migrants back to France after they illegally crossed the English Channel sparking a “major incident” to be declared.
The “small number” of migrants were returned in a bid to deter more from making the dangerous crossing on flimsy boats, often paid for and organised by people traffickers. The group were taken back to their country of origin yesterday, the Home Office confirmed. On the same day, Home Secretary Sajid Javid held talks with French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner to address UK’s migration crisis. In December, Mr Javid declared a “major incident” in the Channel after a dramatic rise in the number of illegal migrants making the treacherous journey.
In 2018, a total of 539 migrants travelled across the English Channel to reach the UK, according to the Home Office.
Of them, 80 percent made their attempts in the last three months of the year.
On Thursday, Britain and France signed a £6million plan to deter mass illegal migration.
The new measures will include CCTV, night vision goggles and additional surveillance at French ports to catch illegal migrants.
Meanwhile, France and the UK have also vowed to increase cooperation between the two countries and abide to EU asylum rules, returning migrants back to their country of origins if they do not meet the criteria to remain.
Mr Javid said: “It is vital we continue to work closely with our French partners to stop vulnerable migrants making these treacherous crossings and tackle the people smugglers who are putting their lives in danger.

Mr Castaner said: “This agreement once again shows the UK’s commitment to managing our shared border along with us.
“By combating illegal Channel crossings by migrants, we’re saving lives and deterring new migrants from coming to Hauts-de-France.”

“A BRUTAL stabbing attack in Acton, west London, hospitalised a young man and left him with serious wounds last night.

On Friday, January 18, a group of white teenage boys wearing MAGA hats mobbed an elderly Native American man on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, chanting “Make America great again,” menacing him, and taunting him in racially motivated ways. It is the kind of thing that happens every day—possibly every hour—in Donald Trump’s America. But this time there was proof: a video. Was it problematic that it offered no evidence that these things had happened? No. What mattered was that it had happened, and that there was video to prove it. The fact of there being a video became stronger than the video itself.
The video shows a man playing a tribal drum standing directly in front of a boy with clear skin and lips reddened from the cold; the boy is wearing a MAGA hat, and he is smiling at the man in a way that is implacable and inscrutable. The boys around him are cutting up—dancing to the drumbeat, making faces at one another and at various iPhones, and eventually beginning to tire of whatever it is that’s going on. Soon enough, the whole of the video’s meaning seems to come down to the smiling boy and the drumming man. They are locked into something, but what is it?
Twenty seconds pass, then 30—and still the boy is smiling in that peculiar way. What has brought them to this strange, charged moment? From the short clip alone, it is impossible to tell. Because the point of the viral video was that it was proof of racist bullying yet showed no evidence of it, the boy quickly became the subject of rage and disgust. “I’d be ashamed and appalled if he was my son,” the actress Debra Messing tweeted.

US warships sail through the closely watched Taiwan Strait, turning up the pressure on Beijing
Two US Navy warships sailed through the Taiwan Strait on Thursday and Taiwan said multiple Chinese military jets flew near the southern tip of the self-ruled island to the West Pacific on the same day for a naval training exercise.
US guided missile destroyer USS McCampbell and the USNS Walter S. Diehl conducted “a routine” Taiwan Strait transit “in accordance with international law”, US Pacific Fleet spokesman Lt. Commander Tim Gorman told CNN.
“The ships’ transit through the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the US commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” Gorman said. “The US Navy will continue to fly, sail and operate anywhere international law allows.”
The US Navy sailed two ships through the Strait in October and November, a manoeuvre that was followed by multiple Chinese warships sailing into the area.

If you’ve been left with the impression that the public square, as a place for expressing your thoughts and opinions, now belongs to people who hate and attack other people’s children, your perceptive powers are adequate to the moment.
The incident at the Lincoln Memorial last Saturday demonstrated that if the radical left has its way, it won’t be safe for 16-year-olds to assemble peacefully and express an opinion or support a cause in public. It won’t be safe, that is, if the radical left disagrees with the cause.
This goal isn’t confined to the radical left, for that matter. Something I haven’t seen emphasized enough in criticism of the mainstream media is that their behavior in this instance, in the aggregate, hasn’t just been bad journalism. It’s been a continuation of the attack on the Covington Catholic High School boys, who were on the Mall for the March for Life (although at the time of the incident they were merely assembled waiting for transportation).

Richard: Be sure and read this article, it is a call to arms for all who want to destroy the entire cultural Marxism agenda. With CNN being the only news organization on the scene as the FBI arrested former Trump campaign advisor Roger Stone, many have been wondering how they knew to be at his house.
Speaking with CNN’s John Berman and Alisyn Camerota, CNN producer David Shortell said he had a gut instinct to go to Stone’s residence after noticing unusual grand jury activity in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.
“The whole Russia team thought, maybe something was happening. There was unusual grand jury activity in Washington, D.C. yesterday. Robert Mueller’s grand jury typically meets on Friday, yesterday, a Thursday, there was grand jury activity,” Shortell said.
“We also had some other signs that maybe something was going on this angle, the Roger Stone angle. So we showed up at his house this morning, we were the only ones there, and lo and behold the FBI agents did come and arrest him,” he added.
Competitive cable news outlets have suggested something nefarious, as though the Mueller office (known for never leaking) was somehow in cahoots with CNN. The far more likely explanation is that Shortell simply did his job: old school gumshoe reporting.

The incident, which took place in the afternoon of 24 January, saw Transavia’s Boeing 737-800 finally landing at a Nice airport at about 6:30 pm. The air carrier declined to elaborate on the matter.
A Transavia Airlines flight en route to Tunisia from Paris was diverted after one of the passengers started to shout “Allahu Akbar”, attempting to enter the cockpit.
During the flight, a Tunisian man was reportedly prevented from praying by the cockpit, in what was followed by him becoming violent towards a flight attendant.
Passengers were reported as saying that the man, about 30 years old, shouted that they should help him because he was also a Tunisian.
In one of the videos posted online, the man was seen wrestling with security staff members who are trying to subdue him as the Boeing 737-800 is still in the air.
After he was brought under control, the plane successfully landed at Nice-Cote d’Azur Airport where police arrested the man who is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation.
Passengers who were heading to the Tunisian capital reportedly had to stay in Nice overnight before they could continue their journey.

A court in Sicily ruled on Thursday that Italy’s far-right Interior Minister Matteo Salvini can be charged with kidnapping after he prevented refugees from disembarking from an Italian coast guard ship in August. “I confess,” Salvini said in a video posted to his Facebook page, “there is no need for a trial. It’s true, I did it and I’d do it again.”
“I risk 3 to 15 years in prison for blocking illegal landings in Italy. I have no words,” wrote Salvini, the leader of the ultra-nationalist Lega (League) party, which now governs Italy in a coalition with the anti-establishment Five Star Movement (M5S).
Salvini also claimed on Facebook that #SaliviniNonMollare (“Salvini, don’t give up”) was the top trending hashtag on Italian Twitter, but many of the tweets were English-language posts declaring solidarity with Italian nationalists.

The charges against the interior minister were launched by prosecutors in the Sicilian city of Catania, who say that Salvini effectively held 177 migrants hostage when he refused to allow them off the Italian vessel Ubaldo Diciotti, which had rescued them in the Mediterranean. After nearly a week trapped on the boat, Ireland, Albania, and the Catholic Church agreed to resettle the refugees, most of whom had fled conflict and poverty in Eritrea.
Salvini, who is also deputy prime minister, has pursued a series of hard-line immigration policies that went into effect in December, known as “Salvini’s decree.” Part of the new laws include the shuttering of Italy’s refugee centers and mass deportations.
According to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, on Wednesday, a report about Italy published by the European Council expressed “concern” about the increase in “incitement to hatred by politicians, particularly in the media and on the internet.” France has also voiced its worries that Italy is abandoning its Europe principles, prompting Salvini to demand President Emmanuel Marcon step down, a major breach of diplomatic codes between two EU members states.
Due to his position, Italy’s parliament must now decide whether to allow Salvini to go to trial or to postpone the process. It remains to be seen whether coalition partners M5S will stand behind the interior minister, considering their roots as anti-corruption left-wing populists.

Rep. Maxine Waters took the helm of the Financial Services Committee this month after easily winning re-election as part of the Democrats’ House takeover. But according to the California Democrat’s post-election filing – which has prompted fresh calls for a full audit – her campaign may have some financial issues of its own to sort out.

Foster parents James and Julie Attaway challenge Missouri’s concealed carry rule
James Attaway has a concealed carry permit and can have firearms in his car when he’s driving around town. But under Missouri regulations, he’s required to have his guns locked away when his foster son is with him.
Mr. Attaway and his wife, Julie, filed a lawsuit last week saying those rules violate their Second Amendment rights to bear arms for self protection and questioning the need for stricter rules involving households with foster children.
The couple say they fear their ability to be foster parents would be denied if they complained to the state agency, or if they ignored the rules and were found in violation.
“There are other people who don’t foster at all because of this issue,” their attorney, David Sigale, told The Washington Times. “They say they don’t want to give up their ability to defend themselves, defend our family — including the foster children.”
Missouri Department of Social Services regulations say foster parents are not allowed to possess a gun that is not locked away. Ammunition and firearms must be stored separately inside a home or vehicle.

The hottest political fad in America today is “Get Whitey.” Across the country re-education sessions are routinely held in businesses, professional offices, medical schools, universities and even kindergartens, whose purpose is to teach the “un-woke” about the evils of “white privilege,” and make the whites who participate uncomfortable about their skin color. The bottom line in these sessions: Whites need to own up to the fact that regardless of their intentions, beliefs, behaviors or status in life, they are elite participants in a racist system that oppresses “people of color,” and are so merely because they are white. But discrimination on the basis of skin color has been outlawed in this country for more than 60 years. Therefore one might reasonably ask, “WTF is white skin privilege”?
Here’s my politically incorrect answer: White skin privilege is the gift of being the only racial/ethnic group on the planet which it is okay to single out for abuse. Indeed, handing out such abuse is obligatory for all who regard themselves as “woke,” and aspire to create a brave new world of “social justice.” This is a category that includes the media, the popular culture, the educational system and such racist shapers of public opinion as Don Lemon, Joy Ann Reid, Joy Behar, Brian Stetler, Rachel Maddow, the editorial boards and reporters of the NY Times and the Washington Post, and their clones, and the Democratic Party.
“White privilege is the privilege of being regarded as untrustworthy, prejudiced, and blind to the injustices one’s whiteness allegedly inflicts. White privilege is the privilege of being damned for alleged crimes like “Stop and Frisk” laws, and also the often imaginary crimes of one’s often alleged ancestors. Thus it is fashionable in today’s politically correct culture to seek reparations for slavery from Americans whose ancestors never owned slaves, were not even in the country at the time, and were oppressed themselves in ethnic and religious ghettos across the globe. Reparations for slavery are also sought from the descendants of Union soldiers who gave their lives to abolish slavery. Facts are irrelevant. It’s all about skin color.

Venezuela, an oil-rich country that was once amongst the most prosperous countries in the Latin American region, is now in a state of economic and political chaos. Venezuela’s socialist leaders – first, Hugo Chávez and then his successor, Nicolas Maduro – have turned the country into an economic basket case because of their gross mismanagement, corruption and destructive economic policies. The inflation rate could reach an unheard of 10 million percent in 2019. There is a humanitarian crisis of monumental proportions, with the country’s population suffering from severe hunger and a health crisis. Millions of Venezuelans have fled the country. Amidst all this chaos, Maduro was sworn in as president for a second term two weeks ago following an “election” last year that many inside and outside of the country believe was rigged.
Many Venezuelans have had enough of Maduro’s dictatorship. As a result, he is now being forced to square off with a potentially formidable opposition leader who is popular with the Venezuelan people and is gaining international support. Juan Guaido, the new leader of the democratically elected opposition-controlled National Assembly, has declared himself to be the interim president until new national elections can be held.
Mr. Guaido claims that he is acting under the authority of the country’s constitution. Tens of thousands of protesters have rallied in the streets on his behalf. The Trump administration officially recognized Mr. Guaido as the legitimate interim president. President Trump tweeted on Wednesday the following expression of support: “The citizens of Venezuela have suffered for too long at the hands of the illegitimate Maduro regime. Today, I have officially recognized the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Juan Guaido, as the Interim President of Venezuela.” The Trump administration made it clear that all options remain on the table if Maduro clamps down too hard on the opposition.

CNN Got an Inside Tip About the FBI Raid and It’s Lying About It

In response to the accusations by President Trump and others, that CNN had received an inside tip about the Roger Stone raid from the FBI, the news network published a whole article claiming that it had gotten the scoop by putting together various clues.
Nonsense.
1. There was no purpose to such an aggressive FBI raid without a camera crew standing by.
Previous defendants had been allowed to turn themselves in. Why would it take multiple vehicles and personnel to arrest one man in his sixties? There’s nothing resembling practical necessity here. And, without cameras standing by to broadcast the footage, the entire effect would have been lost.
Without the certain knowledge that a camera crew would be on the spot to capture the scene, there was no reason not to just inform Stone’s lawyer and arrange for his surrender.

France and Germany, the self-appointed guardians of European integration, have said that the new treaty is a response to the growing influence of populists in Austria, Britain, France, Italy, Hungary, Poland and other European countries who are seeking to slow, and even reverse, European integration by recouping national sovereignty from the European Union and transferring those powers back to national capitals.
The continental showdown, which threatens to split the European Union down the middle between Eurosceptic nationalists and Europhile globalists, will heat up in coming weeks, ahead of elections for the European Parliament in late May 2019.
The “Aachen Treaty” [Traité d’Aix-la-Chapelle; Vertrag von Aachen], signed on January 22 in the German city of Aachen, consists of 28 articles organized into seven chapters; both states commit to closer cooperation in a series of policy areas. The first eight articles, which encompass bilateral foreign and defense policy as well as the European Union, are the most ambitious and consequential items in the treaty:
Illegal Immigrant Demands Change to the Pledge of Allegiance in Hill Op-Ed
“I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America- one nation, invisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
American kids accustomed to beginning their days at school with a recitation of the timeless Pledge of Allegiance may soon have to adapt to some changes, if an illegal immigrant dissatisfied with its content gets his way.
Cesar Vargas, an illegal immigrant who has become a practicing attorney in spite of his legal status, authored an op-ed in The Hill on Tuesday calling for the nearly 150-year old pledge to be altered, as apparently it failed to suit his political preferences.
The original pledge was a creation of former Union Army officer George Thatcher Balch, who created it as a means to popularize American patriotism in New York City schools, which were at the time tasked with educating and assimilating the children of many recent Irish and Italian immigrants.
According to Vargas, the pledge is a product of “the fear of a white native-born Protestant culture,” and must “updated” so that it “takes pride in our immigrant heritage and the equality of all Americans.”

‘Suspicious Package’ Found Diocese Of Covington
Authorities fear the packages could contain explosives.
The Diocese of Covington is being evacuated after reports that a suspicious package had been found.
“WLWT in Cincinnati is reporting that police and fire crews are being sent to the Diocese of Covington following reports of a suspicious package,” the report said. “This follows protests at the Diocese following a viral video involving an indigenous protester and a Covington Catholic Student.”
The Diocese of Covington is home to Covington Catholic High School, which was engulfed in controversy after the mainstream news falsely accused Nick Sandmann of “mocking” a Native American man. After the entire news media gave Nathan Phillips, who lied about serving in Vietnam, a platform to smear the boys, video evidence which showed Phillips approaching Sandmann vindicated them from wrongdoing. The lying media took the confrontation out of context, sparking a wave of doxxing and death threats against the boys from popular media figures.
The Diocese, for its part, has not exactly stood up for the boys. In fact, it condemned them on its website. Parents in the town, though, have stoop up to Diocese, threatening to boycott it’s Catholic Confirmation ceremony if Bishop Roger Joseph Foys does not apologize for throwing them under the bus.

Diocese of Covington cleared of threats after report of suspicious package
Authorities cleared the Diocese of Covington building of all threats at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of a suspicious package a few hours earlier.
A 911 caller said the package arrived by mail to the building in the 1100 block of Madison Ave. It was evacuated about 4:30 p.m.
A Kenton County dispatcher told The Enquirer that three packages were reported to authorities throughout the day. Covington Police Officer Josh Haggard said there were several packages in question, but one in particular sparked the law enforcement response. It was ultimately determined not to be a threat.
The packages have been turned over to the FBI and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service for investigation, Covington Fire Chief Mark Pierce said

And some of her actions show the very real possibility of her backing extreme violence against those who aren’t following her.

Trump, Democrats reach temporary deal to end shutdown
President Trump and congressional Democrats arrived at an agreement Friday to support a short-term spending bill to re-open the government, temporarily ending the partial government shutdown that has dragged on for 35 days, in a move to separate the controversial issue of border security from funding of the government.
From the White House Rose Garden Friday, the president announced that the administration and Congressional Republicans and Democrats had “reached a deal to end the shutdown and reopen the federal government. Trump said the deal would keep the government open for three weeks until Feb. 15. The measure passed the Senate on Friday afternoon on a voice vote. It is expected to pass the House of Representatives later Friday, and Trump is expected to sign it by Friday evening.

“A Swedish man in his 70s faced a court in the town of Uddevalla this week after social justice activists reported him to the police for labelling Somali migrants “lazy” on social media.
The court appearance took place after the man was reported to police by the left-wing activist group Näthatsgranskaren, Swedish for “Network Examiner,” for posting on Facebook that he believed Somali migrants to be “lazy people,” Nyheter Idag reports.
The man’s comments were made in response to an article by Swedish public broadcaster SVT which pointed out that around 20 percent of Somalis in Sweden were out of work, saying the article was a lie and that “no Somalis can work they are the lazy people in this world.”
Though the man posted the comment last year, police have only now picked up the case thanks to the activist group which has claimed responsibility for an increase in hate crime reports and prosecutions since they began their operations. In February of last year, they said they had reported at least 800 people to the police.
The group have also claimed that many of the people reported tending to be pensioners, with one case of a 65-year-old woman they had reported going viral after she had made a video detailing the behaviour of the police.
The man in the Uddevalla court case told police he did not recall the original post but believed it would have been him saying he had said far stronger statements online.
“I have written about Muslims sometimes. Half my family are Muslims and even they sometimes say ‘now it will be all over,’” he said.
There have also been several convictions against pensioners for hate speech in Sweden in recent years, including a case in 2017 in which a Gothenburg man, also in his 70s, was fined around £1,166 for labelling Muslims as “monkeys” on a Swedish Facebook page that had 4,000 other members.”

“Italy pressured the Netherlands on Friday to accept 47 migrants, including eight unaccompanied minors, who have spent seven days at sea aboard a humanitarian rescue ship that has been allowed to enter Italian territorial waters due to bad weather conditions.
The German aid group Sea-Watch tweeted that it has received no response to multiple requests for the Dutch-flagged Sea Watch-3 vessel carrying people rescued off Libya on Saturday to access a port. The boat was permitted to enter Italian waters Friday because of deteriorating weather conditions, and the Italian coast guard said it just off Syracuse, Sicily, flanked by coast guard and financial police boats.
Italy and Malta, the closest EU nations, have both refused to allow entry to rescue vessels operated by humanitarian groups in what they say is a bid to discourage smuggler boats from departing Libya by diminishing the prospect of rescue.
Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini told reporters in Rome that he sent a letter to the government in the Netherlands officially requesting that they organize landings for the migrants “aboard this vessel that waves a Dutch flag.”
Dutch Migration Minister Mark Harbers said that without the prospect of such a comprehensive solution to how to process migrants rescued at sea that the Netherlands “will not take part in ad-hoc measures.” He added that the ship flying the Dutch flag doesn’t oblige the Netherlands to take action.
European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker’s spokesman said that the commission is in touch with member states, and was watching the events closely.
“Our position is clear: The safety of the people on board must be our first concern and priority. What is urgently needed in the Mediterranean are predictable arrangements to ensure disembarkations of rescued persons can take place safely,” spokesman Margaritis Schinas said.
A similar impasse was resolved last month when Malta allowed two to disembark 49 migrants two NGO-operated vessels, including Sea-Watch 3, after the EU brokered a deal to distribute the migrants among eight EU nations.
UNICEF’s spokesman in Italy, Andrea Iacomini, lamented the frequency of such stand offs.
“Is it possible that Europe enters into a sort of humanitarian paralysis every three days for dozens of human beings, including children, without coming up with a structural and shared solution,” Iacomini said. “I hope that European governments find a speedy agreement for a humanitarian solution that offers a safe port to the eight unaccompanied minors on the Sea-Watch. A child is a child, not a hostage.””
