  1. Please, someone, explain how the UN is not utterly controlled by Globalist socialists. Please explain how the financing of mass movements of humanity can be sustained under the burden of fiat money printing. Please explain how the Balkanization of every western country receiving substandard human capital is good. Sheer insanity from radical idealogues–the UN must be dissolved immediately:

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/13263/un-migration-human-right

    Simply stop financing it.

    • We need to do that, all of the Western nations need to do that, I don’t know what the left in the US would/will do if we stop all funding to the UN but I do know that they won’t allow other western nations to stop funding the UN.

Your first post was about how WWI started and how France and Britain maneuvered Germany into the war, what we are seeing with this agreement is the Third World Countries maneuvering the US into a war and positioning an Army in Europe to destroy Europe.

This isn’t going to end will for anyone but the Third World will be the worst hit.

It said authorities launched the rescue operation after two of the migrants managed to swim to shore to seek help.

Although their numbers have decreased in recent years, migrants still try to cross into Greece from nearby Turkey in the hopes of making their way to other European countries.”

  7. European Parliament ‘Shocked’ at Amount of EU-Made Arms in Hands of Terrorists (sputniknews, Nov 12, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201811121069731016-european-parliament-eu-weapons-terrorists/

“This week, members of the European Parliament will gather in Strasbourg for the plenary session with a wide array of issues on the agenda, including arms exports.

A draft report on arms exports, which will be tabled at the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg later this week, suggests launching an investigation into how EU-made weapons end up in the possession of terrorists in the Middle East.

One provision of the document, presented by German MEP Sabine Lösing, says that the European Parliament is “shocked at the amount of EU-made weapons and ammunition found in the hands of Daesh* in Syria and Iraq.”

The same draft highlights that some EU member-states, including Bulgaria and Romania, have failed to apply the Common Position in relation to weapons’ retransfers, which contravenes end-user certificates.

The document further proposes making it obligatory for EU member-states to “deny an export licence if there is a clear risk that the military technology or equipment to be exported might be diverted.”

The European Parliament “calls on all Member States to refuse similar transfers in the future, notably to the US and Saudi Arabia,” the draft reads.

Syrian media have on multiple occasions reported that the country’s army had discovered large stocks of arms, ammunition, vehicles and other military equipment, made in the US, Europe and Israel, while conducting mop-up operations in regions liberated from terrorists.”

  8. Magyar TV also shows different footage and angle of the US southern invasion and claims it is financed by Soros. Clearly the weaponization and exploitation of third-world peoples is being refined by Globalist Socialists.

German TV vilifies Victor Orban propoganda.

German people cannot speak freely on German MSM.

    • That it is, the home grown Globalists are allying with China, Iran and Russia to damage the US by putting more military colonists in the US. This combination of internal and external enemies is not new but they are more effective the the previous times the far left in the US joined with the international far leftists.

  9. Mexico reshaping approach to Central American migrants as caravans push north

The caravans of Central Americans currently traveling northward through Mexico are but the “tip of the iceberg” of a massive and unseen flow of migrants at Mexico’s southern border from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, said a high-ranking appointee in the incoming administration of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

“The caravans are not the problem,” said Tonatiuh Guillén López, who will take over as head of Mexico’s National Migration Institute, known as INAMI, when the new administration takes office on Dec. 1. “The issue is the movements we do not see, those who are not in the caravan, that is the big issue.”

  10. Germany: Taharrush on the train — sexual harassment, assault, threat, insult, resistance to police officers by North Africans
The Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz was informed last Saturday at 11:50 p.m. by the emergency control centre of the German Railways (Deutsche Bahn AG) that there had been an attack on the female train attendant on the Central German regional train from Chemnitz in the direction of Freiberg and that the train would not continue its ride from Freiberg. Due to the urgency of the matter, the Freiberg station was asked for support. Federal police officers also immediately went to Freiberg station. After the first questioning of witnesses on site, the facts of the case were as follows. Two male persons (one Libyan/27 years old, one Moroccan/20 years old) first tried to approach two female passengers (age 22 and 31 years) during the train journey by harassing flirting during the train journey, which the women vehemently rejected several times. A train attendant observed the incident and tried to intervene. However, the 20-year-old Moroccan held the intruding train attendant by his head and kissed her on the forehead against her will. Subsequently, the Libyan sprayed irritant gas in the train compartment, which caused irritation to the eyes and respiratory tract of the persons present. The Libyan immediately resisted the arriving forces of the state and federal police. He then insulted the officers and threatened them with gestures and hand signals. Due to the persistent aggressive behavior, both persons were taken into custody.

Ah, so was only their PERSISTENT AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR that resulted in their being taken into custody. For what they’d ALREADY done, it would have been a bit of a talking to, a slap on the wrist, a warning, and then “Now go on your way and be good boys, OK?”.

If only, if only, these two young men hadn’t had such a distressing and troubled background etc. etc. etc. including not having been born into poverty etc. etc. etc. they’d already be model German citizens. Of course. Claro que sí.

  11. Training kids to kill at Ukrainian nationalist camp
    By YURAS KARMANAUan hour ago

KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — The campers, some clad in combat fatigues, carefully aim their assault rifles. Their instructor offers advice: Don’t think of your target as a human being.

So when these boys and girls shoot, they will shoot to kill.

Most are in their teens, but some are as young as 8 years old. They are at a summer camp created by one of Ukraine’s radical nationalist groups, hidden in a forest in the west of the country, that was visited by The Associated Press. The camp has two purposes: to train children to defend their country from Russians and their sympathizers — and to spread nationalist ideology.

“We never aim guns at people,” instructor Yuri “Chornota” Cherkashin tells them. “But we don’t count separatists, little green men, occupiers from Moscow, as people. So we can and should aim at them.”

The nationalists have been accused of violence and racism, but they have played a central, volunteer role in Ukraine’s conflict with Russia — and they have maintained links with the government. Earlier this year, the Ministry of Youth and Sports earmarked 4 million hryvnias (about $150,000) to fund some of the youth camps among the dozens built by the nationalists. The purpose, according to the ministry, is “national patriotic education.”

The left is driving all of their political enemies into alliances with anyone who will fight for their nation.

  12. Alarm over talks to implant UK employees with microchips

Trades Union Congress concerned over tech being used to control and micromanage

Britain’s biggest employer organisation and main trade union body have sounded the alarm over the prospect of British companies implanting staff with microchips to improve security.

UK firm BioTeq, which offers the implants to businesses and individuals, has already fitted 150 implants in the UK.

The tiny chips, implanted in the flesh between the thumb and forefinger, are similar to those for pets. They enable people to open their front door, access their office or start their car with a wave of their hand, and can also store medical data.

Another company, Biohax of Sweden, also provides human chip implants the size of a grain of rice. It told the Sunday Telegraph (£) that it is in discussions with several British legal and financial firms about fitting their employees with microchips, including one major company with hundreds of thousands of employees.

  13. Navy Creating Attack Sub Aggressor Unit to Train to Fight Against Russia, China

ARLINGTON, Va. — The U.S. Navy submarine force is creating an aggressor squadron as one initiative to ensure all subs are combat-ready as the service trains to take on China and Russia, the commander of Naval Submarine Forces said on Wednesday.

Vice Adm. Charles Richard, who took command in August, drew attention during the change of command ceremony by telling the force to “prepare for battle.”

He has backed up those words with actions in the months since, moving ahead with a plan – updated in March to reflect the National Defense Strategy – that includes refocusing training and certification on combat and developing new tools and concepts to support high-end warfighting.

The plan – called the Commander’s Intent for the United States Submarine Force and Supporting Organizations – led to an overhaul of training for the attack submarine force, Richard said today while addressing the Naval Submarine League at its annual conference.

“We have restructured and retuned the fast attack training period to ensure that we’re ready for that high-end fight, including restructuring what we used to call the Tactical Readiness Evaluation, and it is now a Combat Readiness Evaluation to ensure we’re focused on warfighting,” he said.
“We’ve updated the deployment certification process to eliminate duplication, put the right focus in the right place. I’ll tell you that I am driving to put competition in everything we do inside the submarine force. I want to produce winners and losers just like we do in battle; it does you no good to be at standards if your opponent is more at standards than you are. You still lose, and in this competition, you may not come home.”

    LETICIA (COLOMBIA) (AFP) –

Colombian President Ivan Duque is stressing the need for international action to halt Nicolas Maduro’s “dictatorship” in Venezuela, which he blames for a “massive humanitarian crisis” and a migration wave.

“The real cause of this migration shock is the dictatorship,” the right-wing leader told AFP. “We must use all the diplomatic mechanisms, all the multilateral mechanisms available to allow this dictatorship to end.”

During an official visit to France from November 11-13, Duque, who has been in power since August 7, will take part in Sunday’s Forum for Peace organized by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Scott filed two emergency motions in Palm Beach County and Broward County courts Sunday — requesting for all voting machines, ballots and devices be impounded and secured while not in use.

His campaign reportedly filed an additional complain in Broward, asking to bar the County Canvassing Board from counting ballots cast after Saturday’s provisional ballot submission deadline.

Both counties are due to submit final recount totals to the State Secretary’s office by Thursday, November 15th for certification.

  16. UK PM May stares into Brexit abyss as domestic opposition mounts

LONDON/BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit strategy came under attack from all sides on Monday, increasing the risk that her plan for leaving the EU will be voted down by parliament and thrust the United Kingdom toward a potentially chaotic “no-deal” Brexit.

In a sign that Brexit talks could go down to the wire, EU sources said they want clarity from London by the end of Wednesday at the latest if there is to be a summit this month to approve a Brexit deal.

May’s compromise plan, which seeks to maintain close trade ties with the EU in the future, is facing opposition from Brexiteers, pro-Europeans, the Northern Irish party that props up her government, and even some of her own ministers.

“I think it’s the worst of all worlds,” former education minister Justine Greening, who supported staying in the EU in the 2016 Brexit referendum, told BBC radio, adding that she did not think there was any chance it could get through parliament.

A British official voiced pessimism about the possibility of a breakthrough with the EU this week due to continued deadlock on the issue of the border between British-ruled Northern Ireland and EU member Ireland.

  17. North Korea keeps undeclared missile bases up and running: U.S. think tank

SEOUL (Reuters) – A U.S. think tank said on Monday it had identified at least 13 of an estimated 20 undeclared missile operating bases inside North Korea, underscoring the challenge for American negotiators hoping to persuade Pyongyang to give up its nuclear weapons and long-range missiles.

In reports released by the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Strategic and International Studies, researcher Joseph Bermudez said maintenance and minor infrastructure improvements have been observed at some of the sites, despite the ongoing negotiations.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump pledged to work toward denuclearization at their landmark June summit in Singapore, but the agreement was short on specifics and negotiations have made little headway.

Shortly after that summit, Trump tweeted that “there is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea.”

North Korea declared its nuclear force “complete” and halted missile and nuclear bomb testing earlier this year, but U.S. and South Korean negotiators have yet to elicit from Pyongyang a concrete declaration of the size or scope of the weapons programs, or a promise to stop deploying its existing arsenal.

North Korea has said it has closed its Punggye-ri nuclear testing site and the Sohae missile engine test facility. It also raised the possibility of shuttering more sites and allowing international inspections if Washington took “corresponding measures,” of which there has so far been no sign.

  18. Veterans’ Day – and Armistice Day – 2018
    By J.E. Dyer November 11, 2018

On this day 100 years ago, the “guns fell silent” as an armistice was proclaimed to end combat in the Great War that started in 1914. In Paris this morning, the heads of nations gathered to commemorate the event, which was marked at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918.

We have traditionally commemorated the end of World War I, or Armistice Day, here at Liberty Unyielding with the annual re-posting of an article I first posted in 2009. In the article, I wrote about the significance of World War I, and how its day of armistice eventually became Veterans’ Day in America. The post ends with John McCrae’s 1915 poem “In Flanders Fields.”

Here is the link to the last posting of that article, “Ninety-nine Years.”

When I put it up in November 2017, I looked forward to the centenary of the commemoration, and a repeat of the tradition. What I find as that fulfillment rolls around is that the reference to World War I no longer defines us and our time as it once did. In the countdown to 100, so many centuries have been rolled back that even the touchstone of the Great War seems ephemeral and transient, against a backdrop of historical unraveling so vast that we haven’t yet begun to comprehend it.

    https://libertyunyielding.com/2018/11/11/veterans-day-and-armistice-day-2018/

    • Be sure are read all of the above article, this one stands heads above the normally excellent job she does. The phrase she uses to describe what is currently happening The Great Unraveling is a stroke of genius. It describes what the left is doing in a phrase that will stick in our minds, future historians will call this time The Great Unraveling. She also points out that modern society is far removed from that of WWI and it is unlikely that most people alive understand why WWI was fought and how that war passed a torch of freedom to the nations that were the winners.

She also (at the end) points out that all of us must stop and think about what we are fighting for, what we are willing to kill and die for?

Instead of prizing political conventions, each of us is called to ponder what we cherish the most. Is it God, family, liberty, friendship, vocation, country? What do we live for? What is worth our lives and our sacred honor? Those things, we can express in straightforward, unambiguous language

As she points out we are seeing the unraveling of our civilization, what is going to take its place? Will it be another Representative Republic? A Dictatorship? What? This is something we need to think about and pass on to our children, they are the ones who will have to live under what replaces the civilization that the left is unraveling..

  19. Watch first black female AG of New York make profane threat against Trump
By Ben Bowles November 12, 2018

Who says women can’t achieve the same goals as men? That they can is illustrated by the story of Brooklyn-born Letitia A. “Tish” James, who last Tuesday was elected to become New York state’s first black female top cop.

In the video that follows, James takes part in a mock interview with a friend, who begins by emphasizing the importance of voting:

    • This is what we can expect for the next 2 or more years, the Dems don’t believe in democracy and are willing to destroy the rule of law and the peaceful exchange of power to once again gain control of the US Government. They are going to once again weaponize the Federal Government (as much of it as they control), wage lawfare against us and are going to continue their violent attacks. The people of the US are about to learn just what the far left is really like and there is going to be a lot of blood on the ground before this civil war is over.

  20. Sarah Silverman: Under Trump ‘I’m lucky I don’t have to sew a star on my clothes’
By Howard Portnoy November 12, 2018

During a Trump-bashing segment on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” comedian Sarah Silverman lamented the rise in anti-Semitism typified by recent events, primarily the massacre at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue.

Silverman, who is herself Jewish, cited a well-rehearsed statistic from the left-leaning Anti-Defamation League that posits a 57% increase in anti-Semitic crime in 2017, Donald Trump’s first year in office:

You know, in a time, Bill, where anti-Semitic crime is up 57% since this douchebag has taken office, it is not lost on me that I am very lucky that I get a star and I don’t have to sew it on my clothes.

In a video of the segment, which follows, the audience audibly gasps, prompting a grinning Maher to feign shock. “Oh, no you didn’t!” he says, to which Silverman responds, “I did! I don’t know if that’s gallows humor or just like ‘it’s funny because it’s true’ humor.”

    Twitchy

    [Ed. – Problem!]

In case you missed it earlier Wednesday, we highlighted an Election Day piece by Tiana Lowe, who predicted that if the big blue wave didn’t happen, white women would be made the scapegoats by the Left by Wednesday. And she was right.

We’ve already done a couple of posts on the “vagina shaming” of conservative women who voted Republican, but the hits just keep coming. Here’s the Atlantic’s Jemele Hill making the exact same argument: that white women are voting against their own interests to preserve the patriarchy.

This really is the theme of the day; thank goodness CNN’s Jim Acosta gave us a distraction by trying to muscle the microphone away from a female White House staffer.

  24. Federal investigative board run by Obama holdovers ‘hemorrhaging’ taxpayer money on legal fees
By Daily Caller News Foundation November 12, 2018

A federal board tasked with investigating chemical accidents is “hemorrhaging” taxpayer money on a years-long personnel case that has not yet gone to trial, according to Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER).

PEER attorneys are representing Daniel Horowitz, former managing director of the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB), in a legal challenge against the agency for firing Horowitz.

Members of the CSB are scheduled to attend a closed-door meeting Tuesday to discuss a “legal services support contract” worth $300,000. The new contract would be with the law firm Shaw, Bransford & Roth and be worth nearly double a 2015 retainer with the law firm worth $157,000, according to PEER.

  26. reuters -Macron and tech giants launch ‘Paris call’ to fix internet ills

France and U.S. technology giants including Microsoft (MSFT.O) on Monday urged world governments and companies to sign up to a new initiative to regulate the internet and fight threats such as cyber attacks, online censorship and hate speech.

With the launch of a declaration entitled the ‘Paris call for trust and security in cyberspace’, French President Emmanuel Macron is hoping to revive efforts to regulate cyberspace after the last round of United Nations negotiations failed in 2017.

In the document, which is supported by many European countries but, crucially, not China or Russia, the signatories urge governments to beef up protections against cyber meddling in elections and prevent the theft of trade secrets.

The Paris call was initially pushed for by tech companies but was redrafted by French officials to include work done by U.N. experts in recent years.

“The internet is a space currently managed by a technical community of private players. But it’s not governed. So now that half of humanity is online, we need to find new ways to organize the internet,” an official from Macron’s office said.

“Otherwise, the internet as we know it today — free, open and secure — will be damaged by the new threats.”

By launching the initiative a day after a weekend of commemorations marking the 100th anniversary of World War One, Macron hopes to promote his push for stronger global cooperation in the face of rising nationalism.

In another sign of the Trump administration’s reluctance to join international initiatives it sees as a bid to encroach on U.S. sovereignty, French officials said Washington might not become a signatory, though talks are continuing.

However, they said large U.S. tech companies including Facebook (FB.O) and Alphabet’s Google (GOOGL.O) would sign up.

“The American ecosystem is very involved. It doesn’t mean that in the end the U.S. federal government won’t join us, talks are continuing, but the U.S. will be involved under other forms,” another French official said.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Palestinian militants on Monday fired dozens of rockets and mortar shells into southern Israel, critically wounding an Israeli teen in what appeared to be an act of revenge after a deadly undercover Israeli military raid the day before.

The Israeli military responded by dispatching fighter jets to strike “terror targets” throughout the Gaza Strip, in what was shaping up to be one of the most serious rounds of fighting since the devastating 2014 Gaza war.

The botched Israeli raid in Gaza the day before left seven Palestinian militants and an Israeli officer dead. The violence has thrown into doubt a series of informal understandings reached in recent days aimed at lowering tensions between Israel and Hamas.

In Gaza, the sky lit up with outgoing rocket fire. The Israeli military said at least 80 rockets were launched toward Israel. Its Iron Dome rocket defense system intercepted some of the rockets, but a few slipped through. Israeli TV showed images of a building on fire in a shopping center in the southern town of Sderot.

  28. Brazil risks Middle East trade with Israel embassy move

A proposal by Brazil’s next president to relocate its embassy in Israel, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s lead, may set off a diplomatic storm in the Muslim world, threatening a key market for the world’s largest meat companies.

Brazil is by far the world’s largest exporter of halal meat, which complies with Muslim dietary rules. President-elect Jair Bolsonaro’s plans to move Brazil’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, strengthening relations with Israel, has already upset Egypt and could soon stir trouble with other Islamic nations.

“The reaction will be given not only as an individual country but on behalf of the whole Muslim world,” a Turkish diplomatic source told Reuters on condition of anonymity. “We are expecting Brazil to act with reason and not confront the Muslim world.”

Brazil exports $16 billion annually to the Middle East and Turkey, with just 3 percent going to Israel, according to government statistics.

More than a quarter of Brazil’s exports to the region are meat. Both Brazil’s JBS SA (JBSS3.SA), the world’s top beef producer, and BRF SA (BRFS3.SA), the No. 1 poultry exporter, have bet big on the growing demand for halal meat.

Brazil exports over $5 billion of halal meat per year, more than twice its nearest rivals, Australia and India, according to Salaam Gateway, a partnership between the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre and Thomson Reuters.

Bolsonaro’s proposal for the Israel embassy is part of his overhaul of Brazilian foreign policy, cozying up to major powers such as the United States and undoing what he calls leftist predecessors’ alliances based on “ideological bias.”

Trump’s decision to open an embassy in Jerusalem in May stirred a hornets’ nest in the Middle East, and the United States had few allies follow suit. Guatemala did so in the days afterward while Paraguay has since reversed a similar decision.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Bolsonaro for the plan to move Brazil’s embassy, calling him a “friend.”

But after Egypt abruptly canceled a visit from Brazilian diplomats and business leaders this week, Bolsonaro said his decision on the embassy in Israel was not final.

Bolsonaro has shown already he is not afraid to give an important trade partner a poke in the eye, following the example of the U.S. president, whom he openly admires and emulates in both political style and foreign policy.

Like Trump, Bolsonaro railed against China on the campaign trail. He has softened his stance since the election last month, however, amid lobbying from diplomats and executives keen to protect relations with Brazil’s largest trading partner.

    CANCELED TRIP
The pressure from the Middle East may be more blunt.

Egypt on Monday called off the visit by Brazil’s top diplomat and executives just days before they were set to arrive, which two diplomatic sources said was a direct response to Bolsonaro’s proposal to move the embassy.

The Egyptian embassy blamed a scheduling conflict.

That has sounded alarm bells in Brazil’s meat industry.

BRF Chairman Pedro Parente said on Thursday earnings call that the Israel embassy issue was “cause for concern.”

“We have a very important trade with Arab and halal markets,” he told journalists. “We are confident that when a discussion of the matter involves the relevant areas — the farm, trade and foreign ministries — they will certainly reach the best solution.”

BRF’s halal business segment contributed a quarter of its operating revenue and nearly half of its operating profit in the third quarter.

Halal chicken represented nearly half of Brazil’s overall chicken exports of $7.1 billion last year, according to Brazil meatpacking group ABPA.

“There is a $2-billion trade between Egypt and Brazil, mainly in the food agricultural sector, and within that sector mainly in beef and poultry,” Egypt’s Ambassador to Brazil Alaa Roushdy told Reuters.

He declined to comment on a hypothetical move of the embassy or if it could have any impact on trade.

BRF has processing plants in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates to meet growing demand for halal meat. The company aims to double its output of processed products in the Gulf by 2023, its head of halal operations said at an October event.

JBS sent more than an eighth of its exports to the Middle East and Africa in 2017, second only to the Greater China region.

Representatives for JBS declined to comment on fallout from a potential embassy move.

The Arab-Brazil Chamber of Commerce expects Brazil’s total exports to a grouping of 22 Arab countries, which excludes non-Arab Muslim nations such as Iran, to swell to $20 billion by 2022, up from $13.5 billion in 2017.

Rubens Hannun, the chamber’s president, added that Brazil also stands to benefit from infrastructure investment from Arab sovereign funds. UAE’s Mubadala Development Co, for example, poured some $2 billion into Brazilian commodities empire EBX earlier this decade.

“We do not want any noise in this relationship,” Hannun said. “We are afraid that would open a door for the competition.”

  30. The Dutch embassy in Pakistan temporarily halted visa services on Monday “due to circumstances beyond [their] control” shortly after the attorney representing Christian blasphemy law victim Asia Bibi suggested Bibi and her family were seeking asylum in the European country.
Pakistan’s Supreme Court acquitted Bibi of a death sentence for allegedly insulting Muhammad last month, triggering violent riots nationwide led by influential Islamist groups. The Pakistani government responded by brokering a “deal” with the Islamists to allow yet another appeal on Bibi’s case, though the Supreme Court is the nation’s court of last resort, in exchange for a temporary end to protests.

Bibi’s family has reportedly begun applying for asylum in the Western world, citing calls by thousands of rioters throughout the nation for Bibi to be hung or handed over for a mob lynching. Bibi’s husband and children have stated they have struggled to purchase food without being harassed and threatened in their neighborhood. The latest reports indicate that the family is now together in an undisclosed location.

    • Netherlands Recalls Staff After Threats at Embassy in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) – The Netherlands recalled staff from its embassy in Pakistan following threats after providing shelter to the lawyer of a Christian woman in a blasphemy case, the Dutch foreign minister said on Monday.

Hard-line Islamists in Pakistan have blocked streets and called for the killing of judges after the Supreme Court on Oct. 31 overturned the conviction of Asia Bibi, a mother of five, who had been on death row for eight years.

“Unfortunately threats have been made against the Netherlands, Dutch diplomats,” Foreign Minister Stef Blok told national NPO radio. “I discussed the issue with my Pakistani colleague.”

The embassy briefly closed earlier on Monday and “a large number of staff” returned to the Netherlands, Blok said.

Bibi’s lawyer, Saiful Mulook, fled to the Netherlands soon after the verdict, citing death threats. The Dutch government said on Thursday that it had offered him temporary shelter.

On Friday the Dutch government said its embassy in Pakistan, which is in a tightly guarded diplomatic enclave, had temporarily halted issuing visas “due to circumstances beyond our control”.

Pakistani media reported that the embassy had been forced to close because of threats. But the Dutch Foreign Ministry said reports of the embassy’s closure were mistaken.

No one answered the telephone at the Dutch embassy after office hours on Monday.

Bibi, 53, was convicted of blasphemy in 2010 over allegations she made derogatory remarks about Islam, which is punishable by death in Pakistan. She always denied having committed blasphemy.

The militant Tehreek-e-Labaik (TLP) party, which has made blasphemy a rallying cry, took to the streets after the Supreme Court ruling and blocked main cities and highways for three days.

The protests ended after the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan struck a deal with the TLP that the state would not block a petition to review Bibi’s acquittal in light of sharia Islamic religious law and ensure she wouldn’t leave country until that was decided.

Pakistani government officials have said Bibi is in a secure location while the court considers her case.

Dutch pulls several Pakistan embassy staff over threats: FM

THE HAGUE: The Netherlands said on Monday (Nov 12) it has pulled several embassy staff members from Pakistan over persistent threats, reportedly from Islamists angry over anti-Islam tweets by the far-right politician Geert Wilders.

Although the Dutch embassy in Islamabad remains open and visa requests are still being handled, “a whole number of people” have returned to the Netherlands, Foreign Minister Stef Blok said.

“Unfortunately Dutch citizens are being threatened, Dutch diplomats,” Blok told a news programme on the NPO public broadcaster’s Radio 1 channel.

“That is serious enough already” for the step to be taken, said Blok, adding that he had spoken with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi about the issue.

Blok did not specify how many embassy staff were affected by the move.

Last week, the Netherlands said its ambassador Ardi Stoios-Braken has faced “threats” in Pakistan, apparently over “blasphemous depictions” by Wilders on Twitter.

Wilders in August called off a planned Prophet Mohammed cartoon competition that stirred anger in Pakistan, but the MP has since posted several such images on the social network.

Pakistan’s interior ministry last month wrote a secret memo on plans to “target” the Dutch ambassador by the hardline Islamist Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan party (TLP), media from both countries reported.

The TLP, founded in 2015, led protests in August calling for Pakistan to sever diplomatic relations with the Netherlands over the Wilders cartoon contest.

The TLP has denied making any threats.

Last week, the Pakistani lawyer who saved Asia Bibi, a Christian woman convicted of blasphemy, from death row fled to the Netherlands.

The Dutch gave Saif-ul-Malook a temporary stay after he fled Islamabad when violence erupted following the Pakistani Supreme Court’s acquittal of Bibi on the charges.

Thousands of Islamists poured onto the streets in protest calling for her beheading after Supreme Court judges overturned Bibi’s conviction.

One of the most vocal groups in the protests – the TLP – called for “mutiny” against the army’s top brass and the assassination of the top court’s justices.

Following Bibi’s release, the TLP vowed to return to the streets if she was allowed to leave the country.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Monday his country was holding talks with Pakistan over potentially offering Bibi asylum in Canada.

Her husband has appealed in particular to Britain, Canada and the United States, claiming that Bibi’s life would be in danger as long as she lived in Pakistan.

  34. An essay by a prominent leftwing academic that examines the ethics of socialist revolution has been targeted by a leading university using the government’s counter-terrorism strategy.

Students at the University of Reading have been told to take care when reading an essay by the late Professor Norman Geras, in order to avoid falling foul of Prevent.

Third-year politics undergraduates have been warned not to access it on personal devices, to read it only in a secure setting, and not to leave it lying around where it might be spotted “inadvertently or otherwise, by those who are not prepared to view it”. The alert came after the text was flagged by the university as “sensitive” under the Prevent programme.

  35. The ruling Fidesz and Christian Democrat (KDNP) parties call on the European Commission to answer some questions regarding prepaid debit cards reportedly issued for migrants, the alliance’s spokesman, Istvan Hollik, told a press conference in Budapest on Saturday.

Earlier this week, Fidesz’s Lajos Kosa, head of parliament’s defence and law enforcement committee, cited recent reports about tens of thousands of prepaid debit cards made available to migrants by the European Commission and the United Nations Refugee Agency UNHCR.

The debit cards are reported to have been used by migrants on the “reactivated Balkan migration route”, Hollik said.

The EC should explain the origins of the cards, the amounts deposited on them, and the reasons why the scheme was kept in secret, he said.

The cards are said to be funded by moneys from the EU, the UN and US financier George Soros, Hollik said, raising the question whether the member states have agreed to a scheme like that.

  36. Slovakia is the last EU Member State without a single mosque, TRT World reports. Previous attempts to build have been halted by politicians.

The country does not recognise Islam as a religion and only have a few thousand Muslim residents. Islam must not be taught in schools and the 5,000 Muslims, mostly European ones, who reside in the country are not officially recognised. They account for only 0.1% of the population.

In 2007, politicians changed the country’s laws so that 20,000 signatures from members were required to be recognised by the state. In 2017 they more than doubled the number of necessary signatures.

Not being officially recognised poses major difficulties for the group. Among other things, they are not allowed to have official religious leaders, conduct Muslim marriages or receive financial contributions from the State, rights which 18 other recognised religions have.

    ShareTweet
Flying under the radar as Democrats mysteriously “find” uncounted ballots in Florida and Arizona in a brazen attempt to steal elections is Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who is still fighting for candidacy.

Friday, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia granted the Georgia Democratic Party’s request to allow absentee ballots trickling in from Dougherty County to be counted, as long as they were postmarked on or before Nov. 6 or received by Friday. The county’s election results now will not be certified until Tuesday.

Abrams’ sister, Leslie Abrams, happens to be an Obama-appointed District Court Judge on that same circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. Any lawsuit filed by the campaign in this court will face result in this obvious conflict of interest.

  38. MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) — The racist note reportedly left on the door of a Kansas State student was actually put there by the student himself, University officials said Thursday.

Campus police began investigating the note Monday after the student posted a picture of it on the door frame of his home at Jardine Apartments. The note read, “Beware n***ers live here! Knock at your own risk.”

Investigators say the student admitted making the sign and hanging it.

The school says they will handle the situation “in accordance with applicable disciplinary procedures.” Officials did not define what that entailed.

Prior to the police determining the note was a hoax, Jeff Morris, K-State’s Vice President of Communication and Marketing, said acts like this are unacceptable and not tolerated at the University.

  39. NEW YORK – The think tank for the German social democratic party withdrew its Human Rights Award to the Women’s March USA in Washington, DC, on Thursday because doctoral students associated with the foundation accused the organizers of the march of hardcore antisemitism and support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign targeting the Jewish state.

“We believe that the Women’s March USA does not meet the criteria of this award, as its organizers have repeatedly attracted attention through antisemitic statements, the trivialization of antisemitism and the exclusion of Zionists and Jews since Women’s March USA’s establishment in 2017. Women’s March USA does not constitute an inclusive alliance,” wrote members of the scholarship working group, called Critique of Anti-Semitism and Jewish Studies, from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in a public letter.
