  1. 25:00: “Do You support Donald Trump? Do you support Donald Trump?…” – Andrew Cuomo

    “New York Gubernatorial Debate”
CBS New York – Published on October 23, 2018

      • NY Governor Cuomo: America was ‘never that great’

Then why doesn’t this ungrateful rectal cavity demonstrate the courage of his convictions and resign from the mediocre office he holds? Clearly, it is far beneath his dignity to remain Governor of New York even for another minute.

I never thought I’d find myself saying this but, “New York deserves better.”

BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany has warned citizens visiting Turkey to be extra cautious about their social media feeds in response to a spate of cases of Germans arrested for online criticism of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s government.

    How pathetic.

  3. Suspected bombs sent to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and CNN building: White House condemns ‘terrorising acts’ as ‘despicable’ (telegraph, Oct 24, 2018)

“Suspected bombs have been found in the mail of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in the last 24 hours, the US Secret Service has announced.

The Time Warner Center in New York, which houses the CNN newsroom, has also been evacuated after receiving a suspicious package.

One explosive device was found in a package sent to the home of Bill and Hillary Clinton late on Tuesday and was addressed to the former First Lady.

A second suspicious package addressed to the home of Mr Obama, the former US president, was intercepted by Secret Service personnel in Washington DC early this morning.

“The packages were immediately identified during routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices and were appropriately handled as such,” the Secret Service said.

Neither Mrs Clinton nor Mr Obama were at risk of receiving the packages, the agency said.

The White House has condemned the attempted attacks, saying “these terrorising acts are despicable'”.

A full-scale manhunt is now underway to find the individuals responsible.

Both packages were pro-actively detonated by officials.

An official said a “functional explosive device” was found in the post at the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York late on Tuesday.

The official said investigators believe the explosive is linked to one found at the home of billionaire philanthropist George Soros on Monday afternoon.

The device was detected during a routine search of the post at the Clintons’ home.

The attempted attack on three left-leaning figures comes just two weeks before the US midterm elections.

Mrs Clinton was in Florida at the time campaigning for the Democratic party but Mr Clinton is thought to have been home at the time.

Mr Obama’s whereabouts at the time are unknown. The former president lives in Washington DC, where his youngest daughter is still at school.

In a statement, the US Secret Service said: “The US Secret Service has intercepted two suspicious packages addressed to Secret Service protectees.

“Late on October 23, 2018, the Secret Service recovered a single package addressed to Former First Lady Hillary Clinton in Westchester County, New York.

“Early this morning, October 24, 2018, a second package addressed to the residence of Former President Barack Obama was intercepted by Secret Service personnel in Washington, DC.

“The packages were immediately identified during routine mail screening procedures as potential explosive devices and were appropriately handled as such. The protectees did not receive the packages nor were they at risk of receiving them.

“The Secret Service has initiated a full scope criminal investigation that will leverage all available federal, state, and local resources to determine the source of the packages and identify those responsible.”

    More follows”

    • The reports on FOX says that explosive devices were sent to Hillary, Obama and CNN. The devices use black powder as the explosive, and none of them have detonated, there is a lot of speculation about what is happening and who sent the devices.

I don’t think the Far Left is crazy enough to do something like this as a false flag but the fact that none of the devices has exploded means either they were assembled incorrectly or a very good explosive man put them together.

They are suppose to be pipe bombs.

BREAKING: CNN’s New York Headquarters Evacuated After Suspicious Package Found
        by Aidan McLaughlin | Oct 24th, 2018, 10:19 am 1240

CNN’s headquarters in New York City were evacuated on Wednesday morning as the police investigated a suspicious package sent to the building.

Anchors Jim Sciutto and Poppy Harlow were pulled off the air as alarms went off in the building. Watch the moment above.

CNN’s Washington bureau picked up coverage of the evacuation, which they reported was the result of a suspicious package delivered into th

      • Secret Service intercepts packages addressed to Clintons, Obamas and the White House

The Secret service has intercepted two packages containing possible explosive devices that were addressed to the homes of Hillary and Bill Clinton as well as Barack and Michelle Obama.

In a statement released Wednesday morning, Secret Service agents said the two packages were flagged during a routine mail screening and intercepted. Agents also confirmed the packages were not received by the former first families.

Both the FBI and Secret Service are investigating the incidents, which they believe may be connected to the pipe bomb that was found in the mailbox of billionaire George Soros earlier in this week.

The White House has condemned the attempted attacks. In a statement, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders denounced the threatening stunts, saying “these terrorizing acts” are despicable. Sanders also vowed anyone responsible will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. She then said Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies are investigating and will take all appropriate actions to protect anyone threatened by these cowards.

Meanwhile, another suspicious package addressed to the White house has also been intercepted.

Federal authorities say they are investigating a possible explosive device after it was flagged and intercepted at Joint Base Bolling in Washington, D.C.

According to officials, the device was similar to the ones sent to the homes of Soros, the Clintons and the Obamas.

        • This rules out a right wing crazy, they wouldn’t be sending a explosive device to the White House. This leaves the left wing nuts that don’t think Clinton and Obama aren’t far enough to the left.

            • Yeah, that is why I keep talking about the possibility of this being a false flag operation. The fact that none of the bombs have exploded says either they weren’t intended to explode or that the person who made them really knew what he/she was doing. Or both.

The left is going to use these as an excuse to up the violence saying that we started it but didn’t know what we were doing. Once the violence starts it will spill over into Canada and Mexico. The violence in Canada may spill over into Britain and from there to Europe.

This isn’t the time of year I would chose to start an asymmetric civil war but I am not the one in charge. Keep that flintlock in good shape, you may need it before long.

          • This leaves the left wing nuts that don’t think Clinton and Obama aren’t far enough to the left.

My only question is in regard to whether it’s “left-wing nuts” or “left wing-nuts” that are being described. Not too much of a difference, I suppose.

        • The Package Sent To CNN Was Not Postmarked

CNN’s Jim Acosta revealed a photograph of the alleged bomb sent to CNN’s office, prompting an evacuation Wednesday while the network was live on air.

But the package, which authorities claim was delivered to the CNN office, did not have proper markings on it identifying it as sent mail.

The package addressed to “John Brennan” features stamps that have not been stamped by any post office, as the photograph clearly shows.

CNN officials reported Wednesday that the package that arrived at CNN’s office was “delivered by courier, not mailed.”

This report came amid wide social media scrutiny of the photograph of the package, which CNN’s Jim Acosta shared. The package was not postmarked. (READ: Package Was Not Postmarked).

But if the package was delivered by courier, why did it have multiple stamps on it? Who was the courier? Who paid for the courier?

      • The far left operates on ends justifies the means. The left knows from real polling that they are going to get a shellacking in the midterms.

So they have nothing to lose so long as it isn’t discovered that the Democrats or their supporters did this till after the election.

If they win, they can crush the press on it. They can anyway if its discovered, its not any worse than Benghazi. Not nearly as bad actually.

So they know they can get away with it. So long as its not widely reported that they did this before the vote.

As for the ISIS flags, well. hard to say on that. Could be a fall back in case its obvious that it was a leftist plot. But they, the Democrats, seem to have so much hubris these days, im surprised they didn’t put the White House as return address on them.

Anyway, lets hope someone at the FBI is willing to tell the truth on this.

        • Don’t forget the second string on their bows, when they lose in November they now have the perfect excuse to turn Antifa, BLM and MAMN loose. After all we started the violence with the bombs so they have to us an armed revolt to remove the evil Government that is trying to kill their political opponents. Rather like the Nazi’s dressing prisoners in Polish Uniforms and killing them at a radio station that was attacked and the operators killed as an excuse to invade Poland.

    • twitter @paulsperry :

6 bombs sent to Democrats. 0 go off. All crudely made pipe bombs and conspicuously obvious explosives, and all easily screened and discovered. Stunt seems designed for maximum political/media optics, not maximum damage
The pipe bombs might as well have had “ACME” stamped on them. Totally telegraphed by packaging (excessive postage, taping), amateur packing of gun powder (bad end caps, etc)

Seemingly on cue, CNN already capitalizing on bomb stunt to stifle speech ahead of election: “The president must tone down his rhetoric”

      • Seemingly on cue, CNN already capitalizing on bomb stunt to stifle speech ahead of election: “The president must tone down his rhetoric”

This is mere millimeters away from how imams and clerics all shrug off any potential violence they have spent previous months fomenting by insisting that Mo Toons, flushed Korans (which never happened), or any other perceived slight can serve to trigger Muslim riots.

Here we have CNN using the Left’s swift resort to violent attacks (much less false flag ones) as a smokescreen for their attempts to stifle Conservative Free Speech.

You would be fortunate to wedge a brand new playing card in between these two strategies for muting all ideological dissent.

    • zero hedge – Soros’ Son Blames Trump And “Demonization Of Opponents” For Bomb Packages

In what must be one of the most rapidly written, edited, and published op-eds in New York Times history, Alexander Soros, son of billionaire globalist puppet-master George Soros, has penned a blame-scaping piece pointing directly at president Trump’s “politics of demonizing opponents” as responsible for the bombing of his father, The Clintons, The Obamas, and well anyone else who has received a suspicious package in the last few days and is not in any way right-leaning.

The article, with a title so ironic it has to be farce, “The Hate That Is Consuming Us” runs the gamut from ‘saintly’ McCain defending Obama’s virtue in 2008 to President Trump and Prime Minister Orban’s “extremist fringes” to “the poison of anti-semitism” (which given many of the stories about his father’s behavior is somewhat surprising).

We strongly suggest removing all sharp objects and ensuring no fluids are present in your mouth before reading the following…

      Via The New York Times,

On Monday afternoon an explosive device was delivered to my father’s home north of New York City. An alert member of our staff recognized the threat and called the police. Fortunately, the authorities were able to detonate the device safely. On Wednesday, the Secret Service said it had intercepted similar devices sent to the offices of former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

We are all grateful that no one was injured, and grateful to those who kept us safe. But the incident was profoundly disturbing – as a threat not just to the safety of our family, neighbors, colleagues and friends, but also to the future of American democracy.

My family is no stranger to the hostilities of those who reject our philosophy, our politics and our very identity. My father grew up in the shadow of the Nazi regime in Hungary. My grandfather secured papers with false names so that they could survive the onslaught against Budapest’s Jews; he helped many others do the same. After the war, as the Communists took power, my father escaped to London, where he studied at the London School of Economics before embarking on what ultimately became a hugely successful career in finance.

But the lessons of his early life never left him. His biggest philanthropic endeavor, the Open Society Foundations, played a leading role in supporting the transition from Communism to more democratic societies in parts of the former Soviet Union and then expanded to protect democratic practices in existing democracies. My father acknowledges that his philanthropic work, while nonpartisan, is “political” in a broad sense: It seeks to support those who promote societies where everyone has a voice.

There is a long list of people who find that proposition unacceptable, and my father has faced plenty of attacks along the way, many dripping with the poison of anti-Semitism.

But something changed in 2016. Before that, the vitriol he faced was largely confined to the extremist fringes, among white supremacists and nationalists who sought to undermine the very foundations of democracy.

But with Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, things got worse. White supremacists and anti-Semites like David Duke endorsed his campaign. Mr. Trump’s final TV ad famously featured my father; Janet Yellen, chairwoman of the Federal Reserve; and Lloyd Blankfein, chairman of Goldman Sachs — all of them Jewish — amid dog-whistle language about “special interests” and “global special interests.”

A genie was let out of the bottle, which may take generations to put back in, and it wasn’t confined to the United States

In Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán launched an anti-Semitic poster campaign falsely accusing my father of wanting to flood Hungary with migrants. This included plastering my father’s face onto the floor of trams in Budapest so that people would walk on it, all to serve Mr. Orbán’s political agenda.

Now we have attempted bomb attacks. While the responsibility lies with the individual or individuals who sent these lethal devices to my family home and Mr. Obama’s and Ms. Clinton’s offices, I cannot see it divorced from the new normal of political demonization that plagues us today.

I am under no illusion that the hatred directed at us is unique. There are too many people in the United States and around the world who have felt the force of this malign spirit. It is now all too “normal” that people who speak their minds are routinely subjected to personal hostility, hateful messages on social media and death threats.

It is also all too normal that organizations doing important pro-democracy work face existential threats simply because they accept support from the foundations my father started. And all too normal that political leaders who swear an oath of office to protect all citizens instead pursue politics of division and hate.

We are far removed from the days when Senator John McCain rebuffed his own supporters during the 2008 election to patriotically defend his opponent, Mr. Obama — all because he believed that the health of our democracy was more important than his personal political gain.

We must find our way to a new political discourse that shuns the demonization of all political opponents. A first step would be to cast our ballots to reject those politicians cynically responsible for undermining the institutions of our democracy. And we must do it now, before it is too late.

Alexander Soros is the deputy chairman of the Open Society Foundations.
Was it really just a few short weeks ago that every liberal politician was falling over themselves to proclaim any Kavanaugh-supporting Republican a co-rapist, demanding physical confrontation, and revving up the hate? Lucky that memories are short for the weak-minded.

      • Go down the tweets and you find one showing that there isn’t a postmark on the package sent to John Brenned.

Makes me more suspicious about the origin of the packages then ever.

          • If the courier has been instructed to merely leave the package on the entrance counter, stamps will tend to disarm people’s suspicions of a solitary parcel.

From the earliest images I’ve seen, these bombs are straight out of Wile E. Coyote. As I mentioned early on, this is a shot-across-the-bow for LINOs (Liberals In Name Only) or other “sell-outs.

If anyone licked the stamps, they’d better hope like hell that their DNA profile isn’t on record.

“President Donald Trump warned advocates for unchecked illegal immigration to heed Europe’s problems with crime.

“For those who want and advocate for illegal immigration, just take a good look at what has happened to Europe over the last 5 years,” Trump wrote. “A total mess! They only wish they had that decision to make over again.”

Since 2014, 1.8 million refugees have arrived in Europe, increasing crime rates in many countries…”

  5. Report: Millions in Food Stamp Dollars Flowed to Terrorists (breitbart, Oct 23, 2018)

“Millions of taxpayers dollars trafficked through food stamp fraud went to terrorists who funded their activities at home and abroad, according to an explosive report from the Government Accountability Institute (GAI).

The report from GAI, where Breitbart News Senior-Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer serves as president, highlighted several instances where money obtained through Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits fraud went to fund acts of terrorism, including the 1993 World Trade Center bombings and the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing.

Although this method of using food stamp fraud money for terrorism has been around since the 1980s, it gained notoriety when New York City detectives testified before a Senate subcommittee about the 1993 World Trade Center bombings.

Detectives told the committee that $125 million in food stamp fraud had “unwittingly” gone to terrorist activities.

One of the masterminds of the 1993 World Trade Center bombings, Mahmud Abouhalima, funded the attacks by operating a million-dollar food stamp fraud scheme out of a video store in Brooklyn.

But the U.S. government did not pinpoint how a lot of these terrorists used money from food stamp fraud to fund their attacks until shortly after the September 11 attacks in 2001.

The U.S. Treasury Department and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) identified that many terrorists would get away with funding their illicit activities by using businesses known as “hawalas” to launder money.

A “hawala”— which is an Arabic term defined in English as transfer (or trust)— is a method of transferring money through informal agents from international networks, and many Muslim immigrants settled in western countries use the “hawala” method to transfer funds to family members.

GAI, citing a U.S. Treasury report, found that more than $7 billion flows into Pakistan alone through hawalas every year.

Because of the informal, simple nature of the transaction, the “hawala” method has also been popular among criminals and terrorists to launder money from the U.S. to the Middle East, Africa, and Asia without a paper trail.

In one such instance in 2015, federal agents discovered couriers for these “hawala” networks traveling with cash-filled suitcases on flights leaving the United States for East Africa out of Sea-Tac Airport in Seattle, according to the report. The act of transporting the cash itself was not illegal, but it raised suspicion among federal authorities.

One federal investigator analyzing the financial records of the hawalas found that ten of the couriers working for those networks had been on federal welfare benefits.

Investigators say it is very difficult to track the money moved around through hawalas, even though the federal government has known about the use of hawalas and their alleged role in financing terrorism for years.

But as federal investigators became more familiar with the welfare fraud mechanisms used to fund terrorist activities after the September 11 attacks, investigators have cracked down on a number of instances where terrorists have used the benefit fraud for such purposes.

In 2006, a judge sentenced a Chicago grocery store owner to more than four years behind bars for defrauding $1.4 million from the nation’s food stamp program and using it to fund terrorist activities carried out by Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

In 2011, the FBI arrested Waad Ramadan Alwan and Mohanad Shareef Hammadi, both Iraqi refugees, on federal terrorism charges for sending “money and weapons to Iraqi insurgents from the U.S.” Alwan became a refugee in 2009, citing persecution in his native country, when he settled in Bowling Green, Kentucky. After briefly holding a job in the area, he moved into public housing and collected welfare payouts.

In 2013, federal investigators discovered that Islamic militants Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who carried out the Boston Marathon bombings, had been receiving more than $100,000 in federal welfare assistance over ten years. The Tsarnaev brothers, who had emigrated to the U.S. from Kyrgyzstan, had been receiving cash, section 8 housing, and food stamps.

Federal lawmakers have also become aware of these illicit means of transferring money, and have introduced bills to stop “hawalas” and similar money laundering activities. In May 2017, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) proposed legislation that would prohibit the practice of money laundering through hawalas.”

  6. Watch: Border Force – Australia Turns Back 3,300 Asylum Seekers Aboard 33 Boats (breitbart, Oct 24, 2018)

“More than 3,300 asylum seekers aboard 33 boats have been stopped off Australia’s shores and turned back in the past five years, Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton revealed on Tuesday.

The illegal asylum seekers were discovered by Operation Sovereign Borders (OSB), which has stopped about 80 people-smuggling operations since September 2013.

Those who try to enter by boat are not the only illegal travellers on Canberra’s reject list.

Australia is currently the only country in the world to mandate the strict detention of illegal migrants and asylum seekers who do evade border controls. Anyone entering or found to be in Australia without a valid visa is locked up on offshore detention facilities…”

  7. Swedish Border Police Head Says Problems in Leaked EU Report Could Take Five Years to Fix (breitbart, Oct 24, 2018)

“The head of Sweden’s border police has claimed that the damning border problems outlined in a leaked European Union report could take up to five years to fully address.

The EU report, entitled “Evaluation of Sweden in the field of management of external borders,” was leaked last month with several Swedish outlets publishing snippets of the document that harshly criticised the state of Sweden’s border protection.

Among the areas of weakness identified in the report was an inability of Swedish border agents to identify forged documents, and a failure to check for returning jihadist fighters. In the words of one Swedish newspaper, “there is no actual border control.”

The problems may be even worse, according to new information, with large parts of Sweden’s border policies being in conflict with EU rules and regulations, broadcaster Sveriges Radio reports.

Addressing the EU report, head of the border police Patrik Engström claimed that it was easy to have hindsight when looking back at the problem but blamed the height of the migrant crisis in 2015 for causing immense disruption in the way the border was secured.

“It is of course extremely worrying and serious that we do not meet the Schengen requirements. But the focus for us is of course quite clear. It is clear that Sweden should comply with all Schengen requirements for external border control,” he added.

While the report lists 95 problems with the country’s border policy, Engström said he had narrowed them all down to five main areas and when asked how long he thought it would take to fix, he said: “It’s hard to say. But it will probably take five years.”

Mass migration was a key issue in the Swedish election campaign this year with the populist Sweden Democrats winning a record number of seats largely due to their tough stance on the issue.

Some have noted that the timing of the leaked report came shortly after the election, though Social Democrat Justice Minister Morgan Johansson came out publicly claiming it had not been withheld.

The issue of border security has also affected Sweden’s neighbours with Denmark considering even tougher border controls last year due to the threat of radical Islamic terrorists who may be operating within Sweden. The fears may not be unfounded as Sweden is increasingly linked to more and more terrorist investigations across Europe.”

  8. Mexican News Outlet: Officials Say 14,000 Honduran Migrants Heading to U.S.

The Mexican El Universal news outlet is reporting that more than 14,000 Hondurans — not counting people from other countries who are marching toward the United States — are leaving that Central American nation to seek asylum here.

The news outlet reported that “municipal authorities,” the Catholic Diocese in the Mexican city of Tapachula, and the Mexican National Migration Institute (INM) provided the 14,000 figure.

“The first group walked for 37 kilometers from Ciudad Hidalgo to Tapachula on Sunday afternoon and was comprised by 5,333 children, women and men,” El Universal reported.

  9. How the migrant caravan became so big and why it’s continuing to grow

HUIXTLA, Mexico – Edith Cruz was sitting at home in central Honduras, scanning Facebook on her phone, when she saw the post about the caravan on a community news page.

It was Oct. 12. She and her cousin had just opened a small business selling tortillas when they were confronted by a gang, threatened with death if they didn’t hand over half of their profits. She looked at the Facebook post: “An avalanche of Hondurans is preparing to leave in a caravan to the United States. Share this!” Within three hours, her bags were packed.

  10. Trump administration has not settled on a plan for what to do if the migrant caravan arrives at the US border

The Trump administration has not settled on a plan for what to do if a migrant caravan arrives at the southern border, despite threats by President Donald Trump to declare a national emergency or rescind aid from the countries whose people are journeying north.

Top immigration officials and close Trump advisers are still evaluating the options in closed-door meetings that have gotten increasingly heated in the past week, including one that turned into a shouting match as the caravan of about 7,000 people pushes north, according to administration officials and others with knowledge of the issue. They spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly on the topic.

  11. Migrants clash with Bosnia police at Croatia border crossing (abcnews, Oct 24, 2018)

“Dozens of migrants on Wednesday clashed with Bosnian police while trying to cross the border into neighboring Croatia and enter the European Union.

Shouting “Open borders!” the migrants surged through a police cordon before being stopped by another one outside a border crossing in northwestern Bosnia.

Local media reported that several people were injured amid tensions and skirmishes as the migrants refused to leave and blocked traffic. Croatian police said they put up a fence on their side of the border.

Police also stopped some 100 migrants from getting off a train that arrived in the area early Wednesday. Officers organized their transfer to a migrant center in the capital Sarajevo. Police turned back buses with migrants on Wednesday as authorities said they want to curb any new arrivals.

“Any increase in the numbers of migrants without adequate housing presents a potential security threat,” said regional police commissioner Mujo Koricic.

Thousands of migrants have been staying in northwestern Bosnia — many camping out in the open — while trying to cross to Croatia and journey onward to other EU countries. War-ravaged Bosnia has struggled with the influx, and some have staged protests to demand a better response from officials.

Migrants have walked to the Croatian border to draw attention to the borders remaining closed for people fleeing war and poverty. Dozens have spent the past two nights out in the open, including children.”

  12. Exclusive: Ecuador no longer to intervene with UK for WikiLeaks Assange – foreign minister

QUITO (Reuters) – – Ecuador does not plan to intervene with the British government on behalf of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in talks over his situation as an asylee in the South American country’s London embassy, Ecuador’s foreign minister said on Tuesday.

Foreign Minister José Valencia said in an interview with Reuters that Ecuador’s only responsibility was looking after Assange’s wellbeing, after the Australian national sued the country over new conditions placed on his asylum in the London embassy.

“Ecuador has no responsibility to take any further steps,” Valencia said. “We are not Mr. Assange’s lawyers, nor are we representatives of the British government. This is a matter to be resolved between Assange and Great Britain.”

The UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office did not immediately respond to emails seeking comment after normal business hours.

Greg Barns, an Australian lawyer advising Assange, said in an email that “developments in the case in recent times” showed the need for Australia’s government to intervene to assist “one of its citizens who faces real danger.”

  13. Egypt security forces say 11 militants killed south of Cairo (abcnews, Oct 24, 2018)

“Egyptian officials say security forces have killed 11 men armed with assault rifles in a firefight that began during a dawn raid on a desert cave south of Cairo.

The officials say the men killed Wednesday had been in possession of weapons and ammunition, including explosives, in the Western Desert near the Farafra depression, and had planned “hostile operations.” The area is near the city of Assiut, some 320 kilometers, or 200 miles, from Cairo.

The officials were not identified in their statement but spoke anonymously under government regulations.

Egypt launched a nationwide operation against militants in February. It has struggled to combat a long-running insurgency in the Sinai Peninsula that is now affiliated with the Islamic State group, and which has also carried out attacks on the mainland.”

Already last week, EU Budget Commissioner Günther Oettinger announced, in reference to the Italian deficit, that the Italian government must “correct” its draft budget. Media reports refer to a “black week” for Rome. Negative reporting – like rating agencies’ devaluation of Italy’s creditworthiness – can contribute to the destabilization of Italy’s financial and credit markets. The country’s current downward spiral threatens to re-escalate the banking crisis. Whereas Berlin insists that the EU take sharp measures against deficits, Germany’s Finance Minister at the time, Wolfgang Schäuble had prevented the EU Commission from taking measures against excessive surpluses, which the commission sees as potentially just as destabilizing. Germany has been achieving these surpluses year after year.

A massive seven-alarm fire has consumed a historic landmark in Massachusetts.

Fire officials are reporting the 150-year-old First Baptist Church will likely be “a total loss” after the blaze broke out Tuesday night northwest of Boston.

Total damages are expected to exceed more than one million dollars after the main roof collapsed and the church’s steeple sustained major damage. Despite the damage, no injuries have been reported.

Where are they going to find all of the pregnant women and small children to place at the caravan’s leading edge? Almost all of the images related to this invasion task-force are of fighting age young men.

It’s time to work with Mexico and, as this caravan approaches the American border, swoop in and detain all of these “human shields”. Stripped of any sympathy factor, everybody knows these punks will rumble at the drop of a hat.

Riot gas systems, a bazillion rubber bullets, another gazillion of that teargas ball amsmunition, and lots of lead in case of any attempted breakthroughs.

Thank goodness Hillary is cooling her heels instead of rolling out the red carpet for all of these invaders.

  18. Trump’s comments on caravan raise question: Are ‘Middle Easterners’ being smuggled in?
By Daily Caller News Foundation October 24, 2018

President Donald Trump made a surprising claim Monday morning about the migrant caravan winding its way toward the U.S. through Mexico — people from the Middle East are among the thousands of Central American travelers.

“Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy [sic].”

When pressed on his assertion later that afternoon, the president doubled down, telling reporters at the White House to “go into the middle” of the caravan, where “You’re gonna find MS-13. You’re gonna find Middle Eastern [people].”

Trump did not offer any supporting evidence for his claims, prompting leading media outlets to pile on with a raft of fact-check articles that generally reached the same conclusion: the president was misleading the public about the nature of the caravan. • VP Pence’s clue to who’s behind migrant caravan suggests major implications; media silent
      By J.E. Dyer October 23, 2018

Left-wing pundits have been presenting the migrant caravan heading north through Mexico as a group of refugees from crime and chaos in Honduras, seeking asylum in countries to the north. Because there is a high level of crime and a pattern of social breakdown in Honduras, this characterization, whether it’s fully accurate or not, can be seen as logical. (In fact, I don’t doubt that at least some people in the caravan set out for that reason.)

There is good reason to question it, however, starting with the fact that the further it gets from Honduras, the bigger the caravan grows. It seemed to double in size, to some 3,000, on its progress through Guatemala. Guatemala is also a troubled nation, of course; perhaps a very large number of people there all decided spontaneously to join in and seek asylum from Mexico and the United States.

But since the caravan burst through the security fence at the Mexico-Guatemala border, it reportedly grew to somewhere between 5,000 and 7,000 people. On Monday night, a Mexican news outlet, El Universal, was quoted as saying the number was up to 14,000, although I haven’t seen confirmation of that.

      • >strong>Read the entire article, she is back to what she use to be and this is a very good analysis of what is happening and who the most probably backers of this move are.

Once again the Propaganda Media are ignoring the evidence to push the idea that Trump doesn’t know what he is talking about. It is inconceivable to anyone with two working brain cells that there are MIddle Eastern hostiles in the Caravan, and the Mexican Media is reporting that there is a large group of Bangladeshis in the Caravan. Combine this with VP Pence being told that Maduro in Venezuela is funding the Caravan. This means that Russia, China and Iran are funding the invasion of the US by thousands of military age men some of whom are members of MS13 or other violent gangs, some of whom from terror supporting nations and who are probably trained terrorists and yes some of whom are useful idiots who just want to get to the US to either live off our welfare system or find a job. There are even a small minority who are legitimate refuges who are seeking safety.

If we let this Invasion force enter the US the next Caravan and the ones after it will be much bigger. We can’t let them in but we don’t want to have to use lethal force to stop them. We will if necessary but that will create a lot of problems between the US and every nation south of our southern border.

All of our readers in North America need to start watching their backs, this invasion combined with the bombs (no I don’t know they are connected but there is a chance they are) that are being found are signaling that the chaos I have been predicting is about to snarf, it is starting in the US but the far left around the would are so closely connected it will not remain in the US but will spread to all Western Nations.

Keep your musket clean and your powder dry.

      • It’s curious how the caravan continues to grow. More and more, it’s beginning to look like a rogue’s gallery of our regular fare, just at fire-hose pressure and velocity.

  22. Bishop: ‘Europe Is Being Islamized’ Because the Church Is Asleep (breitbart, Oct 24, 2018)

“An African bishop in Rome for the synod of bishops has decried the lethargy of European Christianity, saying that it opens the door to an “Islamic invasion.”

In an interview Tuesday with the U.S.-based National Catholic Register, Andrew Nkea Fuanya, the bishop of Mamfe, Cameroon, said that the synod has been ignoring Europe’s low birth rates to its own peril.

The synod fathers have not discussed Europe’s demographic implosion, which is “a very big thing” for youth, Fuanya said.

“And I will dare to say that, especially with the backdrop of the Islamic invasion, if you look through history, where the Church slept, got diverted away from the Gospel, Islam took the advantage and came in,” he said.

As in the case of many African bishops, Fuanya has seen what radical Islam looks like up close. Cameroon borders with Nigeria and Chad in the north, forming a triangle that has been the epicenter of much Islamic terror at the hands of Boko Haram, an affiliate of the Islamic State…”

  23. Swedish Criminologist Warns Jihadis May Have Entered Sweden Without Government’s Knowledge (breitbart, Oct 24, 2018)

“Swedish criminologist Ardavan Khoshnood has warned that an unknown number of jihadists may have entered Sweden thanks to the ineffective border control recently revealed in a leaked EU report.

Khoshnood, a criminologist at Malmö University, said that the recent leaked European Union report on Sweden’s border deficiencies could have led to jihadists sneaking into the country saying: “The most serious thing is that so-called jihadists can enter the country without anyone knowing about it.”

“Many who work outside as border controllers may have worked with something else before. They are given a week’s education, they will check passports and then they do not even have access to what they should pay attention to,” he added, reports Svenska Dagbladet.

The criminologist also reacted to Swedish border police head Patrik Engström who said fixing the problems outlined in the EU report could take the country up to five years, saying: “There has long been a naivety for us. If Engström says five years then it’s five years. It will take a long time before we can build a border check that is worth its name.”

“One should not forget that the police are an authority under the government and are controlled from there. But this report opens up the eyes of our politicians to actually do something,” he added.

The leaked report, which was partially published last month in Swedish media, claimed that the border agency guards were barely trained and said that Sweden’s border control was among the worst in Europe.

The news comes as Sweden has been connected to more and more active investigations into radical Islamic terrorist activity according to prosecutor Solveig Wollstad, Sweden’s National Representative of EU legal body Eurojust.

Others, like Swedish Defence College researcher Peder Hyllengren, have claimed that the country has become a hub for international radical Islamic networks.

Hyllengren said part of the reason for the growth of radical Islam in Sweden was down to pressure to be politically correct, saying: “You risk being identified as racist in a way that you did not see in other European countries.”

“There, this question was as uncontroversial as the importance of combating Nazism and right-wing extremism. But in Sweden, it took a long time before we could discuss jihadism in the same way that we discussed Nazism for a long time.””

  24. WATCH: Migrant Admits ‘Criminals Are Everywhere’ In Caravan

A migrant traveling north with the massive caravan that is trekking to the U.S. border admitted during an interview on Tuesday that there are “criminals” embedded in the group.

“Criminals are everywhere,” one migrant told Fox News. “It’s criminals in here. It is. But it is not that many. It is good people here trying to get through Mexico and then get to the United States. It doesn’t mean that everybody is a criminal.”

    • Second migrant caravan: New group rushes to join ranks, deportees vow return to America

As the massive migrant caravan pushes toward the southern U.S. border, a second group of about 1,000 people from Honduras is rushing to join the main group — which reportedly has swelled its ranks with several people who’ve already been deported.

The caravan, which has around 5,000 to 7,000 members, was on the move again Monday morning, departing the southern Mexico city of Tapachula. The smaller group trailing it entered Guatemala from Honduras late Sunday, according to the Associated Press.

“They catch you, and you try to get back,” said Imner Anthony Fuentes, a 29-year-old who reportedly was deported for the sixth time from the U.S. five months ago. He has a son and a U.S. citizen girlfriend living in Birmingham, Ala., the Washington Post reported.

Footage captured by a Fox News crew traveling with the caravan showed trucks handing out food, water and toilet paper to the migrants.

“My dream is get to the border if we could. If we can’t we are going to have to cross the river some way, some how,” a Honduran migrant who identified himself as Edwin told Fox News. As he spoke, a truck with people hanging onto the doors and sides passed behind him.

  25. ISRAEL – Police Forcefully Arrest Coptic Monk, Evacuate Others From Jerusalem’s Church of Holy Sepulchre oldest Christian Theme Park

Coptic officials warn the incident could lead to widespread protests against Israel, including by the Egyptian government

The Israel Police forcefully evacuated several Coptic monks from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Wednesday and arrested one of them.

Coptic officials warned that this could lead to widespread protests against Israel, including by the Egyptian government, which is the patron of the Coptic Church in Jerusalem.

The ceiling of St. Michael’s Church, part of the historic Deir al-Sultan monastery on the roof of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, has been in danger of collapse for over a decade. The Jerusalem municipality therefore issued a closure order for it in 2017.

The Interior Ministry said it would pay for renovations back in 2014. But because of a long-standing dispute between the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, whose clergy live at the site, and the Coptic Church, which claims ownership over it, the parties had not managed to reach an agreement that would allow renovations to proceed.

In 1970, under the auspices of Israeli police forces, Ethiopian monks entered the compound and the place has remained in Ethiopian hands since, despite an Israeli Supreme Court ruling that ordered the return of the church to the Copts.

Due to the tension, Israel decided that the renovations would be carried out by the Israel Antiquities Authority. The Copts agreed, as long as one of the priests would oversee the work and that they would pay for it themselves. Israel did not accept these terms, however.

On Wednesday, when Antiquities Authority officials arrived at the site to begin the renovation work, several Coptic priests sat at the entrance to the church and refused to allow them entry. Police arrived at the site and arrested one of them, who was released shortly after the intervention of the Egyptian embassy. Attorney Mazen Kopti, who represents the church, said that he intends to appeal to the court and demand an order to stop the work.

According to the police, “The police initially held a conversation and warned those who blocked the entrance that if they did not vacate the area and allow the workers to enter, police would have to evacuate them according to the law. Since they refused to move, the police had to arrest one of them who blatantly violated the order and even tried to attack police officers.” Police added that “the fact that these people are religious clerics does not allow them to disturb public order, to not obey police orders and to break the law.”

  26. German Intelligence: African Migrants ‘Guaranteed Passage to Europe’ for Just €2,000 (breitbart, Oct 24, 2018)

“Reporting that Morocco has replaced Libya as the primary migration transit point to Europe, internal German intelligence documents have revealed African migrants can secure ‘guaranteed’ passage to Europe for just 2,000 euros.

Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND) has learned that a well-established smuggling network in the North African country offers migrants options beginning at 1,000 euros to reach European Union (EU) nations, according to the tabloid Bild.

With the lowest priced option, would-be migrants get three attempts to make it to Spain — which has seen illegal immigrant arrival numbers more than treble in the last year with tens of thousands of sub-Saharan Africans estimated to be waiting in Morocco before heading to Europe.

Smugglers, who BND intelligence reported were known to cooperate with Moroccan security forces and have contacts within the authorities, guarantee passage to the EU for a sum of around 2,000 euros.

For migrants who are able to pay 4,000 euros, the traffickers offer a so-called ‘VIP’ service transporting people direct from Mali to Europe in only six days, according to local media.

Since the beginning of this year, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) reports that almost 40,000 migrants have made it illegally from Morocco to Spain, whose Socialist government appears not to be phased by the influx, claiming Europe should welcome mass migration from the world’s poorest and most violent regions.

Dismissing complaints over the government’s pro-illegal immigration overtures after outcry over the eviction of students from their university accommodation in Valencia to make way for African boat migrants rejected by Italy, foreign minister Josep Borrell implied that Spain should be grateful for the influx of third world migration.

“Europe’s demographic evolution shows that unless we want to gradually turn into an ageing continent, we need new blood, and it doesn’t look like this new blood is coming from our capacity to procreate,” he said.”

  27. Political Bombs and the High Cost of Unleashing Political Violence

    Daniel Greenfield

The alleged bombs mailed to Obama, Hillary, Soros and others on the radical political fringe have already garnered more media coverage than the time that a Bernie supporter opened fire on Republicans at a charity baseball practice.

And that’s sad, but not surprising.

Acts of left-wing political terror, whether it’s the Southern Poverty Law Center inspired shooter at the Family Research Council or the shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise, the numerous acts of vandalism, harassment and even physical attacks, not to the murder of 4 police officers in Dallas by a Black Lives Matter supporter, rarely carry any political consequences for the movements behind them.

The media will now pivot from endorsing political hatred and terror against Republicans to blaming Republicans for this act of violence.

    That’s cheaply cynical hypocrisy.

  28. Migration Invasion Moving Closer
America’s national emergency – and what our president urgently needs to do.
    October 24, 2018
    Joseph Klein

The vanguard Central American migration horde of approximately 7000 aliens is determined to continue their march through Mexico towards the southern border between Mexico and the United States, with the intention of entering the U.S. by any means necessary. A second group of around 1000 has now formed, already reaching Guatemala from Honduras. President Trump has properly called the impending invasion a “national emergency.” Members of the larger first horde previously attacked Mexican riot police, who initially tried to stop them at the Guatemalan border with Mexico. Acting more like a mob than the peaceful “caravan” they fashion themselves to be, thousands managed to break through or take evasive action to end run the barrier set up by the Mexican police at that border. They refused offers by Mexican government officials to process asylum claims on an orderly individualized basis. Mexican authorities have now apparently given up. The horde is freely proceeding through Mexico on its way to the United States. It constitutes an invasion force of unvetted aliens, who are relying on their sheer numbers, propaganda images of crying babies and children they use as shields and props in league with a sympathetic liberal media, and craven politicians, to breach U.S. territorial sovereignty. Working for them are incredibly lax, loophole ridden immigration laws in the United States, which many of the aliens will try to exploit to claim “asylum” status and overwhelm the system handling such claims.

  29. Should We Consider a Security Zone in Mexico?
    October 24, 2018
    Daniel Greenfield

It’s not my favorite solution. It’s certainly not a permanent one.

But if thousands of migrants are going to make a point of showing our border impotence, we need an immediate answer.

The central problem, which many don’t realize, is that while our border is a leaky sieve, caravans like this aren’t trying to just break in, they’re perfectly happy applying for asylum at the border and then being taken into custody, before being released due to overcrowding and then told to report for their hearing.

It saves them plenty of days of rough travel.

We could stop accepting asylum applications, but to do that, we first have to do this.

  31. The EU’s Utopian Approach to Iran

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Europe’s attitude towards Iran, particularly with respect to the 2015 nuclear deal (the JCPOA) and related ballistic issues, is hard to understand. A collective desire to defy the US, which pulled out of the JCPOA in May and re-imposed tough sanctions on Tehran, can’t be the cardinal reason. It is more likely that the EU states are succumbing to a sophisticated blackmail campaign directed by the Iranian regime aimed at preserving the JCPOA and deepening existing cleavages among the transatlantic partners.

On August 7, Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said:

We are doing our best to keep Iran in the [JCPOA nuclear] deal, to keep Iran benefiting from the economic benefits that the agreement brings to the people of Iran, because we believe this is in the security interests of not only our region but also of the world. If there is one piece of international agreements on nuclear non-proliferation that is delivering, it has to be maintained. We are encouraging small and medium enterprises in particular to increase business with and in Iran as part of something [that] for us is a security priority.

This open defiance of President Donald Trump’s policy over the Iran nuclear agreement reflects the determination of the E3 (France, Germany, and the UK) to rescue the JCPOA.

  32. The ‘Saudi Affair’ in Istanbul Unveils Sunni vs Sunni Rivalry

    by Burak Bekdil
    October 24, 2018 at 5:00 am

It looked like a first-class spy thriller: A prominent writer enters the Saudi consulate in Istanbul but never leaves the building. Saudi officials said he left the building but could not offer footage from security cameras. When they did, the image was of a dark-haired body-double dressed in the writer’s clothes.

Turkish police and intelligence start leaking evidence of the man’s murder, drop by drop. The day before the Saudi journalist’s disappearance, two private Saudi jets had arrived in Istanbul, with 15 passengers aboard belonging to security agencies in Riyadh. Both jets left for Saudi Arabia shortly after the consulate incident. Unnamed Turkish officials fed (mostly foreign) media stories of how the man had been killed, how his body was dismembered and disposed of after the murder — all by the Saudi death squad. As the Saudi consul-general rushed to Riyadh, Turkish police searched the consulate. More unnamed Turkish officials tell the press that they found forensic evidence for the murder. Unsure if the Turkish police really have evidence, the House of Saud decides to admit that the man had been killed “in a brawl” at the consulate but Saudi officials claim to have no idea where his body was — not convincing anyone in the world’s more democratic parts.

The Saudis then said they fired five officials and arrested 18. In the latest episode, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an said:

Pontiff warned young people Hitler rose to power through the use of populism
The 81-year-old called for increased efforts to teach the young about WW2

Pope Francis has compared populists to Hitler and said the ‘sowing of hate’ was to blame for the Second World War.

The 81-year-old pontiff told crowds at a book launch in Rome, Italy that Nazi Germany rose to power through the use of populism.

Increased efforts, he said, were now needed to teach the young about the history of the First and Second World Wars ‘so that they do not fall into the same mistake and know how populism spreads.’

Pope Francis was speaking at the launch of a book about the wisdom of the older generation. Film director Martin Scorsese was present at the event

According to ANSA, the Pope said: ‘It is important that young people should know how populism is born.

‘I think of Hitler last century, who had promised the development of Germany. That we know how populism starts: by sowing hate. You can’t live sowing hate.’

The Pope’s comments were made after a woman who teaches Italian to refugees told him at the book launch that she was concerned about a rise in anti-migrant sentiment.

DW reports that Francis cited the Bible as saying refugees should be welcomed.

But he said governments are entitled to set immigration limits, adding that it was ‘important for all of Europe to strike a deal on this problem’.

In January last year, Pope Francis warned against a rise in populism and the dangers of allowing political crises to usher in dictators like Hitler.

He also condemned the use of barbed-wire fences to keep foreigners out.

He said at the time: ‘Crises provoke fear, alarm. In my opinion, the most obvious example of European populism is Germany in 1933.

‘Germany is broken, it needs to get up, to find its identity, a leader, someone capable of restoring its character, and there is a young man named Adolf Hitler who says: ‘I can, I can’.

‘And all Germans vote for Hitler. Hitler didn’t steal the power, his people voted for him, and then he destroyed his people.’

  34. MEMRI TV – Activist Linda Sarsour Calls to Vote against Ted Cruz, Questions Faith of Muslims who Defend Police

Speaking during a panel titled “Unapologetically Muslim” at an event held by the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), British journalist and Al-Jazeera TV host Mehdi Hasan said that complicated political issues require different strategies and that “we will need Linda [Sarsour] in the corridors of Congress, maybe being pulled out by Capitol police.”

Linda Sarsour said that American Muslims are complicit in the murder of Palestinian protestors and questioned the faith of Muslims who debate the issue of Palestine and try to defend or “humanize the oppressor.”

Speaking about police violence, Linda said: “I don’t want to get into debates with Muslims about what Mike Brown did before he got shot, or what [any] young black person did before he got shot. That’s not a conversation any Muslim should be having.”

She said that Muslims should not spend time defending police officers and questioned the faith of Muslims who “act like Donald Trump” by saying there are nice people on both sides of political issues.

Sarsour added that she is motivated by anger.

In addition, Sarsour urged Texan Muslims to vote against “religious, zealot, bigot” Ted Cruz in the upcoming midterm elections, and she questioned the faith of those who don’t intend to vote against him.

  35. Read the full report here.

Coincident with the 200th anniversary of Karl Marx’s birth, socialism is making a comeback in American political discourse. Detailed policy proposals from self-declared socialists are gaining support in Congress and among much of the electorate.

It is unclear, of course, exactly what a typical voter has in mind when he or she thinks of “socialism.” But economists generally agree about how to define socialism, and they have devoted enormous time and resources to studying its costs and benefits. With an eye on this broad body of literature, this report discusses socialism’s historic visions and intents, its economic features, its impact on economic performance, and its relationship with recent policy proposals in the United States.

We find that historical proponents of socialist policies and those in the contemporary United States share some of their visions and intents. They both characterize the distribution of income in market economies as the unjust result of “exploitation,” which should be rectified by extensive state control. The proposed solutions include single-payer systems, high tax rates (“from each according to his ability”), and public policies that hand out much of the Nation’s goods and services “free” of charge (“to each according to his needs”). Where they differ is that contemporary democratic socialists denounce state brutality and would allow individuals to privately own the means of production in many industries.

In assessing the effects of socialist policies, it is important to recognize that they provide little material incentive for production and innovation and, by distributing goods and services for “free,” prevent prices from revealing economically important information about costs and consumer needs and wants. To this end, as the then–prime minister of the United Kingdom, Margaret Thatcher (1976), once argued, “Socialist governments . . . always run out of other people’s money,” and thus the way to prosperity is for the state to give “the people more choice to spend their own money in their own way.”
