White House Drafts Order To Look Into Google, Facebook Practices
(Bloomberg) — The White House has drafted an executive order for President Donald Trump’s signature that would instruct federal antitrust and law enforcement agencies to open investigations into the business practices of Alphabet Inc.’s Google, Facebook Inc. and other social media companies.
The order is in its preliminary stages and hasn’t yet been run past other government agencies, according to a White House official. Bloomberg News obtained a draft of the order.
The document instructs U.S. antitrust authorities to “thoroughly investigate whether any online platform has acted in violation of the antitrust laws.” It instructs other government agencies to recommend within a month after it’s signed actions that could potentially “protect competition among online platforms and address online platform bias.”
The document doesn’t name any specific companies. If signed, the order would represent a significant escalation of Trump’s antipathy toward Google, Facebook, Twitter and other social media companies, whom he has publicly accused of silencing conservative voices and news sources online.

EXECUTIVE ORDER TO PROTECT COMPETITON AND SMALL BUSINESSES FROM BIAS IN ONLINE PLATFORMS
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in order to protect American consumers and workers and encourage competition in the U.S. economy, it is hereby ordered as follows:
Section 1. Policy. Online platforms are central to American commerce and the free flow of news and information. Whether reading news or looking for local businesses, citizens rely on search, social media, and other online platforms to provide objective and reliable information to shape a host of decisions ranging from consumer purchases to votes in elections. Because of their critical role in American society, it is essential that American citizens are protected from anticompetitive acts by dominant online platforms. Vibrant competition in the online ecosystem is essential to ensuring accountability for the platforms that hold so much sway over our economy and democratic process.

Section 2. Agency Responsibilities. (a) Executive departments and agencies with authorities that could be used to enhance competition among online platforms (agencies) shall, where consistent with other laws, use those authorities to promote competition and ensure that no online platform exercises market power in a way that harms consumers, including through the exercise of bias.
(b) Agencies with authority to investigate anticompetitive conduct shall thoroughly investigate whether any online platform has acted in violation of the antitrust laws, as defined in subsection (a) of the first section of the Clayton Act, 15 U.S.C. § 12, or any other law intended to protect competition.
(c) Should an agency learn of possible or actual anticompetitive conduct by a platform that the agency lacks the authority to investigate and/or prosecute, the matter should be referred to the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Competition of the Federal Trade Commission.
(d) Not later than 30 days from the date of this order, agencies shall submit to the Director of the National Economic Council an initial list of (1) actions each agency can potentially take to protect competition among online platforms and address online platform bias; (2) any relevant authorities and tools potentially available to enhance competition among and protect the users of online platforms.
(e) Not later than 60 days from the date of this order, agencies shall report to the President, through the Director of the National Economic Council, recommendations on agency-specific actions in response to paragraphs (d) of this section. Such recommendations shall include a list of priority actions, including rulemakings, as well as timelines for completing those actions.
Section 3. General Provisions. (a) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.
(b) Independent agencies are strongly encouraged to comply with the requirements of this order.
(c) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:
(i) the authority granted by law to a department or agency, or the head thereof; or
(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.
(d) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

China says U.S. has ‘no right’ to interfere in Russia military cooperation
SHANGHAI/BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s decision to buy fighter jets and missile systems from Russia is a normal act of cooperation between sovereign countries and the United States has “no right to interfere”, defense ministry spokesman Wu Qian said on Saturday.
On Thursday, the U.S. State Department imposed sanctions on China’s Equipment Development Department (EED), the branch of the military responsible for weapons procurement, after it engaged in “significant transactions” with Rosoboronexport, Russia’s main arms exporter.
The sanctions are related to China’s purchase of 10 SU-35 combat aircraft in 2017 and S-400 surface-to-air missile system-related equipment in 2018, the State Department said.
The sanctions will block the EED and its director, Li Shangfu, from applying for export license and participating in the U.S. financial system.
“The U.S. approach is a blatant violation of the basic norms of international relations, a full manifestation of hegemony, and a serious breach of the relations between the two countries and their two militaries,” Wu said in a notice posted on the Chinese defense ministry’s official Wechat account.
He warned that the United States would face “consequences” if it did not immediately revoke the sanctions.

BBC – Iran military parade attacked by gunmen in Ahvaz
Gunmen have opened fire on an Iranian military parade in the south-western city of Ahvaz, killing at least 25 people, including civilians, and injuring more than 50, state media say.
The attackers shot from a park near the parade and were wearing military uniforms, reports say.
An anti-government Arab group, Ahvaz National Resistance, and Islamic State (IS) have both claimed the attack.
President Hassan Rouhani has vowed a “harsh response”.
“The response of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the smallest threat will be harsh, but those who sponsor the terrorists must be held accountable,” he said in a statement.
Foreign Minister Javad Zarif blamed “terrorists paid by a foreign regime”, adding that “Iran holds regional terror sponsors and their US masters accountable”.
Iran has previously accused its regional rival, Saudi Arabia, of supporting separatist activity amongst Iran’s Arab minority.
Meanwhile, an Iranian military spokesman claimed the attackers were not from IS but “were trained and organised by two Gulf countries”, and had ties to the US and Israel.

Fars news agency said the attack started at 09:00 local time (06:30 BST), lasted about 10 minutes, and appeared to involve four gunmen.
The attackers fired at civilians and attempted to attack military officials on the podium, Fars reports.

I wrote here about the array of connections between the anti-Kavanaugh opposition and the Hillary Clinton drama of 2016. This post will address one aspect of the implications from that, previewed in the earlier article. Rather than rehashing its contents, I refer readers to it for a refresher on the particulars.
I won’t try to unpack everything here. The priority this week is the Brett Kavanaugh nomination. Most observers attribute the near-psychotic fury of the anti-Kavanaugh campaign to the desire to preserve the Roe v. Wade precedent. But in sober reality, there is very little chance of a challenge to Roe v. Wade quickly overturning the decision, or the body of precedent that has come after it, in a transformative way.
Such challenges would have to be fought through the courts, by advocacy groups that have spent decades studying each other’s arguments and anticipating each other’s moves. There is no guarantee that opponents of Roe v. Wade could frame a challenge to get the decision they want on a short timeline.

More and more people are starting to understand that the resistance is about reversing an election because the far left doesn’t like the results of the election. This attitude has been shown by a lot of people but isn’t given much coverage because the media both left and right don’t want to talk about people trying to stage a coup (soft or hard) in the United States. One Democrat has publicly stated that after impeaching Trump they are going to go after Pence to install a Democrat Speaker of the House as President and then they intend to remove all Republican Judges from the Supreme Court.
Michael Moore is already thinking about violence to remove the current President and Congress and install a far left Democrat Government. Others on the left (possibly including the assistant Attorney General Rob Rosenstein) are trying to find a way to use the 25th Amendment to reverse the 2016 election. All of the above says that it is highly unlikely that the Democrats will peacefully take an election loss in the 2018 midterms or in the 2020 election. The election of Obama brought the radical left the closest to victory they have ever been in the US, they were sure that Hillary would win and thus secure the US for the far left for decades to come. Trump against all odds won the 2016 election and the far lefts plans were destroyed, he is appointing conservative Judges who will rule according to the plain text of the laws and the Constitution. No more activist Judges legislating from the bench, the controversial issues will have to be fought out in the State and Federal legislatures. This will guarantee that the left looses since all of their so call victories in the push to move us to a Marxist nation were not achieved by elected officials voting to implement their agenda but were forced on us by Judicial decisions that we have never had the ability to reverse. When a case concerning one of these policies comes before the Courts they will now be Judged by the law and the Constitution instead of what activists Judges think should be the law.
If the newly appointed Judges are left alone they will over the coming decades return the US to the nation the founding father wanted, a free nation with limited government.
The Court is the biggest deal of all. We’re dead without our Third Branch.
Congress has largely gone to lobbyists, the Executive sold out decades ago (maybe longer).

Then I want a Convention of the States, 16 years of constructionist Preidential rule and an Article 5 Convention (if the right amendments get accepted) will restore the US to what the Founding Fathers wanted. Without both I am afraid of what will happen when the Dems (or people like them under a new name) win the Presidency and hold at least one of the Houses of Congress.
Having said that one of the reasons I want 16 years of Constructionist rule will give us a vast majority of Judges being constructionist.
We need that time.
Only way to purge the IC is to prosecute the traitors and slackers embedded in the agencies.
Much of the rest of the permanent bureaucracy can be put out to pasture. A new cohort must be screened for sjw-think.

“Libyan authorities say the latest bout of fighting between rival militias in the capital Tripoli has left 10 people dead.
In a statement Saturday, the medical authorities said 59 people were also wounded when fighting erupted the previous day, taking the death toll to 106 since armed conflict first began there late last month. Friday’s fighting further strained a cease-fire that has been in force since Sept. 4.
They said a total of 18 people remain missing.
Libya slid into chaos after the 2011 uprising that overthrew longtime dictator Moammar Gadhafi and led to his death. It’s governed by rival authorities, based in Tripoli and the country’s east, each backed by an array of militias.”

This: On Thursday a The Daily Caller ran an article that quoted Paul Mulshine, a columnist for the Star-Ledger, who wrote, “Based on that Stanford Daily column [detailing the sexual encounter], Booker should be giving Kavanaugh the benefit of the doubt.”

Here’s how it’s all linked: Tax filings from Soros’ Open Society Policy Center show tens of thousands of dollars have been granted to the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a 501(C)4 initiative that provides money for left-leaning social and environmental issues. In 2015 tax filings, for instance, the Soros OSPC revealed it funneled $550,000 to the Sixteen Thirty Fund — an amount that put this initiative at the top 10 of OSPC contributions that year.

A wealthy couple living in a Dallas suburb were indicted Wednesday on federal charges of forced labor, harboring an alien for financial gain, conspiracy to commit forced labor, and conspiracy to harbor an alien for financial gain, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The couple, Mohamed Touré and Denise Florence Cros-Touré, both 57 and natives of Guinea, are accused of having enslaved and physically and verbally abused a female that they had flown — alone — to the U.S. when she was five.
According to the girl, now 21, from the time she arrived at the she arrived at the Touré home, she was forced to do household chores and cook against her will. For her trouble, she was called “whore” and routinely beaten with a belt, whipped with an electrical cord, and forced to sleep on the floor. According to a federal complaint, on one occasion Cros-Touré tore an earring from the child’s left ear, leaving a scar.
Known only as D.D., the woman might still be in captivity if she hadn’t managed to survive the fall from a second story window she had leaped out of one night in desperation before fleeing into the darkness.

Radio host Mark Levin warned fellow conservatives on Friday evening that they should not rush to conclusions about the New York Times‘ latest story alleging that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had plotted against President Donald Trump.
He warned that Trump’s enemies might be trying to goad him into firing Rosenstein before the midterm elections by leaking information from memoranda created by former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, who was fired in March for lying.
The Times reported Friday that in 2017, Rosenstein had suggested recording Trump secretly, and had “discussed recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office for being unfit.” Rosenstein denied the latter claim, and Department of Justice sources suggested that Rosenstein had been speaking sacrastically about wearing a wire in meetings with Trump — in response, Levin said, citing sources, to McCabe’s animus against the president.

White House insiders reportedly believe former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe’s team planted a story in the press suggesting Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is conspiring against the president, according to Politico on Saturday.
McCabe’s colleagues allegedly concocted the ruse to bait President Donald Trump into firing Rosenstein ahead of November’s midterm elections, the report noted. Individuals within the West Wing believe the former FBI director’s team pushed the story to create political consequences for Trump, according to Politico.
McCabe’s spokesman pushed back on any such assertions, Politico reported. The report refers to a Sept. 21 New York Times article suggesting Rosenstein discussed wearing a wire to record Trump and volunteered to recruit cabinet officials to potentially remove the Republican from office.
Rosenstein allegedly made the remarks in meetings with Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI officials shortly after the May 9, 2017, firing of James Comey as FBI director. The deputy AG took part in Comey’s ouster, writing a letter recommending that he be fired because of his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation.
Rosenstein, who is overseeing special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, also reportedly told McCabe he could potentially persuade Attorney General Jeff Sessions and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.
Some people in Trump’s world are supporting Rosenstein and pushing back against a growing fervor brewing from within conservative circles. A senior White House official warned against any dramatic action. The official, who spoke anonymously to Politico, called Rosenstein a “straight shooter” and said his repudiation of TheNYT’s article was believable.
Rosenstein gave a full-throated rejection of the piece and argued that it is not appropriate to invoke the 25th Amendment, which stipulates the president can be ousted if he or she is mentally unfit to serve, against Trump.
“I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda,” he said in a statement. “But let me be clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.”

Shipping analysts are tracking at least seven vessels which transporting oil from the country which has seen exports have dropped by at least 500,000 since May when Mr Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal and announced the imposition of sanctions.
The fear of further international measures and a drop in oil revenues – Tehran’s main source of foreign currency – has already led to a 70 percent fall in the value of the national currency, the rial, this year.

No U.S. or Somali forces were killed or injured in the attack, an AFRICOM spokesman, Nate Herring, told The Associated Press. The airstrike was carried out Friday in self-defense after extremists were “observed maneuvering on a combined patrol,” while the U.S. also responded with “indirect fire,” the spokesman said.
The confrontation occurred about 50 kilometers (31 miles) northwest of the port city of Kismayo, the U.S. Africa Command statement said. Two other al-Shabab extremists were killed by Somali forces “with small arms fire during the engagement,” it said.
The operation was Somali-led, the AFRICOM spokesman said. There was no immediate comment from Somali authorities.

In an interview published in the German press Thursday, he dismissed plans backed by Austria and Italy among other member states which would see asylum processing offshored and immigrants blocked from reaching European soil.

“Migration has been a source of progress and prosperity since people first began to migrate,” claimed the Italian, stating that the tendency of politicians to frame the phenomena as a “major problem” was “unfortunate” because it boosts the argument of people opposed to mass, third world migration.
He said: “The constant problematisation of migration fuels an atmosphere of fear and sometimes even hostility, which is very dangerous and results in a vicious circle where the heated mood strengthens migration opponents, which in turn makes finding solutions [to illegal immigration by boat] difficult.”
Grandi repeatedly insisted there was no migrant crisis in Europe, stressing that the number of people arriving has “fallen sharply”.
However in the same interview, he expressed “concern” over a major factor behind the decline in arrival numbers, namely the huge reduction in NGO activity taking place in the Mediterranean after Italian authorities made it more difficult for open borders activists with private financing to work with criminal traffickers to ferry migrants from Africa to Europe…”

Mohammed Anwar Miah, 40, from Sparkhill, Birmingham, was filmed by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) being detained near the town of Hajin in Deir Ezzor province, eastern Syria.
Appearing blindfolded and handcuffed in the footage, which was released last night, he tells his captors that he left the UK for Syria in 2014 and had been living in the so-called caliphate for the last four years.
He claims to be a trained pharmacist who has been working in a hospital.
“I’m a doctor,” he said when asked when he joined the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil). “The area was controlled by Daesh – I can’t do anything about that. But I came to work with the people,” he said, using the derogatory Arabic acronym for the group.
A pharmacist with the same name appeared to have been struck off in early 2014 for falsifying records at the practice in which he worked.
