  1. Eeyore is that a new photo of the falls you’ve got at the top? The resolution on drops is pretty sharp.

    • Thank you for noticing, yes. There are a few new photos for banners in this past few days. Expect more 🙂

      • I trust that all of the banner images are ones taken by yourself?

More than a few of them are rather eye-pleasing. Take this from someone who has sold his photography. My collection of vintage Nikon cameras and Nippon Kogaku glass would make most non-digital enthusiasts cream their jeans.

Keep it up with the new images. They make for a very pleasant surprise when I log in and refresh my pages. Thank you.

      • Do you want to be a pet or livestock?

Excellent question, and one that H.G. Wells modesty addressed in his classic book, “The Time Machine”.

My own reply is: FERAL HAD BEST BE ONE OF THE OPTIONS.

    • AI godhead

Just that one concept alone ought to scare the living crap out of you.

If that doesn’t churn your guts, the narrator’s emphasis upon keeping all humans in a perpetually childish state should be enough to give you the tummy-wobbles.

Never has the old saying been more true:

I agree, even though all it takes is an “off” switch. (Ecktually, quite a bit more, as in fire-walling the AI so that it cannot migrate to some other platforms.)

  2. 10 years after Lehman, is another crisis brewing?

Ten years ago, the collapse of Lehman Brothers signaled that the U.S. was hurtling toward a financial crisis. In the years that followed, consumers faced difficulty managing debt as the economy contracted, unemployment accelerated and incomes stagnated. The Federal Reserve enacted extraordinary monetary policy to stem the decline, lowering interest rates to near zero to ease the burden of debt and buying securities to support the credit markets.

These actions, along with initiatives from the Department of the Treasury, helped borrowers and lenders weather the Great Recession. Treasury, with other regulators, created programs to assist borrowers with their mortgage debt, including homeowners who found themselves “underwater” — owing more on their mortgage than their homes were worth — as home prices fell. Congress crafted more stringent capital rules to shore up banks.

    • 10 years after Lehman, is another crisis brewing?

(Is there coffee “brewing” somewhere in the world, right now?)

If there isn’t some sort of economic bubble already inflating, then please rest assured that Wall Street will concoct one for us.

It is the 1%’s recipe for scouring out small investors and, especially, their wealth.

America’s stocks and commodity markets—like most others, I suspect—are a rigged game and best serve to siphon off truly hard-earned wealth from those who are actually able to create it.

  3. NJ middle school teacher’s 9/11 lesson urges sympathy for ‘Osama’

Parents in Vernon, New Jersey are outraged over a local middle school teacher’s lesson on September 11, which skipped over the world’s worst terrorist attack and instead focused on the plight of an imaginary Muslim boy named Osama.

Ed O’Rourke, a former U.S. Marine, and his wife, Jodi, told the New Jersey Herald that their daughter’s sixth grade teacher at Glen Meadow Middle School assigned a story titled “My Name is Osama” for students to read on September 11, which his daughter described over dinner.

    The Herald reports:

    • Ed O’Rourke, a former U.S. Marine …

Sorta tells the entire story right there.

      PS: Fire that “teacher” yesterday.

Battered Argentine peso hit by new fall

    BUENOS AIRES (AFP) –

Argentina’s beleaguered currency passed a symbolic barrier on Thursday, reaching a mark of more than 40 to the dollar amid a crisis in investor confidence.

The peso lost 2.88 percent to close at 40.24 — down 6.14 percent for the week — as Argentina battles to stave off an economic crisis, with inflation predicted to surpass 40 percent for 2018.

The peso has been hit badly by falling market confidence since April, despite President Mauricio Macri’s attempts to steady the ship.

  5. China says willing to provide Venezuela with what help it can

BEIJING (Reuters) – China is willing to provide Venezuela with what help it can, Premier Li Keqiang told Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro on Friday, but there was no mention in state media of China providing any new funds for the country.

Maduro is in China on a four-day trip to discuss economic agreements, as the crisis-struck OPEC nation seeks to persuade its key Asian financier to disburse fresh loans.

Li told Maduro that China supported Venezuela’s efforts to develop its economy and improve people’s livelihoods, and it was willing to provide what help it could, Chinese state television reported, without giving details.

China was also willing to keep developing business and trade exchanges, and hoped that Venezuela could provide more “policy support and legal guarantees”, Li added.

In a separate meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Maduro thanked China for its long-term understanding and support, Chinese media said.

  6. Ruth Bader Ginsburg didn’t look well at a recent public appearance
By Ben Bowles September 13, 2018

There are many contenders for what might constitute Democrats’ worst nightmare at this point, but fairly high up on the list is the fear that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will leave the Supreme Court while Donald Trump is still president, opening the possibility of yet another nomination. So desperate are liberals to see Ginsburg tough it out that many have pledged to donate their organs to the 85-year-old Justice should that necessity arise.

Ginsburg herself has expressed a fervent desire to outlast Trump, at least through one term. In January, she made something of a statement to that effect by hiring a clerk through 2020.

But for all her shows of spunk and determination, Ginsberg appeared frail and not particularly well at an event at George Washington University on Wednesday. As can be seen in the video that follows, she sits slumped over during the much of the Q & A, creating uncomfortable silences via lengthy pauses between the time she receives a question and the time she answers. At moments, it almost appears as though she is nodding off to sleep.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Criticizes Treatment Of Kavanaugh During SCOTUS Hearings, “Highly Partisan Show”

    • This is the main reason the left is determined to kill the Kavanaugh, his appointment will give the conservatives a 5 – 4 court where the liberals might pick up a swing vote on a lot of cases. If Ginsburg retires or dies Trump will appoint another conservative and this 6 – 9 court will dominate the next 20 years or so of US law. in that time period most of the illegal Judge Written laws that have advanced the far left agenda will be removed and we will move much closer to what the Founding Fathers wanted the US to be. The left is panicking because the Federal Government will be forced to obey the Constitution and limit what they do to people.

    • Ruth Bader Ginsburg didn’t look well at a recent public appearance

      Pray for sepsis.

Re-weighting the Supreme Court back over to Constitutionalist adherents (and NOT “interpreters”) would make possible the proper realignment of this nation’s trajectory (literally) to the stars. As in: Halting the squandering of billions for Social Engineering and incentivizing redirection of such budgetary allocations towards innovation, manufacturing, and exploration.

Speaking of, “the stars”: More than many people might think, humanity’s destiny in outer space—for most certainly that’s where it is—relies upon a once-again constructive federal bench. Clearing the path for ethically managed Private Enterprise may be one of the strongest roles it might play. The amount of domestic job creation could be endless.

SIDEBAR: Ayn Rand always insisted that, in a moral (i.e., well-behaved Objectivist) society, the court system’s only—as with its originally intended—function would be to enforce or help settle contractual issues. Currently, the judicial system is so clogged with disputes over—what essentially boils down to hurt feelings—Social Justice Warrior agenda items to where its proper functions have been stalled. I no longer can believe that this is a mere coincidence.

To return: There is so much more that this fabulous nation has yet to do. Building a space elevator is just one of them. America’s innovative ability puts to shame that of all other countries combined!

All this muck about AI godheads needs abrupt casting aside whilst we get on with the job at hand. At present, too much of the AI worship that I see boils down to a sort of “silver bullet” style wishful thinking (as in, “If wishes were horses all beggars would ride.”).

There is no “end-all” or “be-all”, cure-all solution. Just eternal vigilance about such trivial matters as National Security, Scientific Integrity, Product Quality, Fiscal Responsibility, and Ethical Government.

Other than those relatively minor requirements, I’m really rather flexible.

  7. Terrorists Shell Syria’s Aleppo Leaving Child Dead, 13 People Injured – Source (sputniknews, Sep 14, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201809141068014970-syria-aleppo-terrorists-shelling-casualties/

“Terrorists have shelled the Syrian city of Aleppo with projectiles, a source in the city’s militia told Sputnik.

“Several rockets exploded on the outskirts of the Nile Street. A child has died. A total of 13 people were injured,” the source said.

The Russian Center for Syrian reconciliation said Thursday that multiple ceasefire violations had been registered in the Syrian provinces of Latakia and Aleppo over the past 24 hours.

  8. US behind ‘economic assassination attempt’ on Turkey – Erdogan (RT, Sep 14, 2018)
    https://www.rt.com/business/438441-turkish-lira-us-erdogan/

“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Washington of waging an economic war against his country. Speaking before his ruling AK party in Ankara on Friday, he urged boosting the role of the Turkish lira in settlements.

“We have faced a heinous attack targeting the Turkish economy after a series of negative statements from the US about our country were used as an excuse,” said Erdogan, calling the collapse of the national currency against the dollar “an economic assassination attempt”.

The Turkish government is trying to stabilize the lira, which has plunged over 40 percent against the US dollar this year. Erdogan said that all savings should be converted to lira, and called on Turks to trust the national currency.

The Turkish currency has strengthened after the central bank hiked the key interest rate by 6.25 percentage points to 24 percent. Erdogan has been a fierce opponent of raising rates and some investors in the Turkish economy had fears he could be interfering in the central bank’s affairs. Erdogan warned on Friday that his patience with interest rates had limits.

Relations between the US and Turkey have deteriorated since the failed military coup against Erdogan in 2016. The Turkish president has accused Washington of protecting coup plotters. The US began applying economic pressure after the detention of American pastor Andrew Brunson in Turkey, accused by Ankara of aiding the failed military coup.

Brunson, a US citizen, and Turkish resident for over two decades, was arrested in Turkey on charges of terrorism and espionage. He is facing up to 35 years behind bars if found guilty. A Turkish appeals court rejected Brunson’s bid for freedom in August.”

      https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/turkish-leader-erdogan-criticizes-central-banks-rate-hike-57819108

“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reproached the central bank for sharply raising interest rates, saying the country would “see the results” of the bank’s independence.

The bank on Thursday raised its key rate from 17.75 percent to 24 percent to stem a currency crisis. The move suggests it is re-asserting its independence despite pressure from Erdogan to keep rates low.

Addressing his ruling party’s officials Friday, Erdogan said: “Here you go, have your independence. We will see the results of the independence.”

Erdogan said that his “patience” with the bank would have its limits.

He repeated a claim that Turkey’s currency woes were part of a foreign conspiracy put into motion because Turkey did not “respond” to U.S. demands.

Washington is pressing Turkey to release a detained American pastor.”

  10. Knife crime hits seven year high as police admit shock at the ‘frenzied nature’ of many attacks on Britain’s streets (dailymail, Sep 14, 2018)
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6166499/Knife-crime-hits-seven-year-high-police-admit-shock-frenzied-nature-attacks.html

“Knife crime has surged to a seven-year high amid police fears of an epidemic of violence on the streets.

And use of blades among children has rocketed to its highest level this decade.

Courts dealt with more than 21,101 knife cases last year – the highest number since 2010 – according to official figures.

It is equivalent to one attack every 25 minutes and a 5 per cent increase on 2016.

Meanwhile, the number of those aged between ten and 17 cautioned or sentenced after being caught with blades hit 4,479 in the year to June – more than at any time since 2009.

Knives and other sharp weapons have killed at least 64 people in London alone this year.

Justice minister Rory Stewart said: ‘Knife crime is horrifying, it causes catastrophic damage to families with tragic consequences. We need sentences that punish anyone who commits knife crime and deters anyone from doing it in the future.’

Police have been shocked by the increasingly ‘frenzied’ nature of attacks, with many victims stabbed repeatedly, sometimes by mobs of attackers linked to gangs…”

    • We need sentences that punish anyone who commits knife crime and deters anyone from doing it in the future.

I dimly recall that the gallows, electric chair, and gas chamber all had a relatively deterrent effect—if only as lasting cures for criminal recidivism. A sterile date with Mr. Needle just doesn’t cut the mustard. The gradual elimination of all punitive aspects from many judicial systems (Texas being an exception) has done nothing but incentivize crime, especially acts of violence.

When many more of these stabby types are DOA because of “resisting arrest” or “assaulting an officer”, perhaps then there might some sort of disincentivization. Until then, innocent people will continue to perish as part of assuaging the sins of Political Correctness.

  11. Terror Convictions and Investigations Highest on Record (breitbart, Sep 14, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/09/14/terror-convictions-investigations-highest-record/

“There has been a 39 percent surge in the number of terrorists brought to justice in the UK over just one year, hitting its highest level in a decade.
A total of 100 people were brought to trial in the year ending 30 June 2018, a significant rise on the previous year, but the number of people arrested for terror offences was down significantly, Home Office data shows.

Of those on trial, 90 were successfully convicted, marking the highest number of persons tried and the highest number of successful convictions since data collection began in 2009.

The number of terrorism-related arrests fell by 22 percent from 449 to 351 in the year ending 30 June 2018.

London’s Police explained: “This can largely be explained by the spike in arrests following the five terror attacks during the previous reporting year, and should not be mistaken for a reduction in the threat or police activity in the Counter Terrorism sphere.

“In fact, the number of active investigations being carried out by CT Policing and the Security Services has reached its highest ever level, with the figure currently standing at more than 650 live investigations into the most dangerous individuals.”

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Dean Haydon, CTP’s Senior National Coordinator, commented:

“We’re not only successfully prosecuting more people than ever before, but we’re also jailing the most dangerous offenders for longer – helping to keep the public safe.”

The number of those in custody or jail for terror offences is also rising, jumping by seven percent in the year to June 30th, 2018, continuing an upward trend and pushing the number to the highest since data collection began in 2009.

Of those in custody, 82 percent were categorised as holding Islamist extremist views, a further 13 percent as holding far right-wing ideologies, and six percent other ideologies.

Meanwhile, more white people than people of Asian appearance were arrested on suspicion of terrorism over the year. Despite that, white individuals are still significantly proportionally underrepresented as they make up over 87 percent of the UK population.

White suspects accounted for 38 percent of all arrests in the year, an increase of four percent, as arrests of those of Asian appearance fell by seven points to 37 percent.

Asians, including British Pakistanis and Indians, represent around 4.2 percent of the UK population and Muslims make up 4.4 percent.

    • Terror Convictions and Investigations Highest on Record

I can just hear the backroom mutterings in London of, “Let’s double immigrant quotas and see if that reduces these terrorist crime rates”.

“Through the Looking Glass” is entirely inadequate to describe this current state of affairs. “Insanity” is both too polite and excusive to deserve consideration. “Mad as a box of frogs”, looks good on paper but, like most theories, doesn’t work out in real life. It looks as if things are boiling down to, “Just Plain Evil”.

Not that “Evil” ever has been out of the question. It’s just increasingly difficult—in this 50 shades of grey world of, “there is no good or bad”—to accept this growing tolerance for the obviously evil. Yust call me old-fashioned.

      • Seriously NR does anyone actually believe such official stats anywhere in the west? Far too much is decided by such for truth to ever deserve a presence. The only clue you can really obtain is by talking to individual people involved in the courts, the labour wards (for birth and gender ratio stats) or the hospitals. Official stats WRT crime/convictions etc. have been under the blanket for over a decade in all of the west and publication refused as are often even the names of the offenders.

    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/09/14/swedish-prosecutor-considers-investigating-mosque-offered-votes-building-permits/

“A mosque in the Swedish town of Botkyrka could be under investigation for electoral fraud after allegations that the imam had offered up to 3,000 votes to the Moderate Party in exchange for building permits.

Only days before Sweden’s national election, it was revealed that the Alby Mosque in Botkyrka had allegedly proposed a deal with the Moderate Party promising to rally worshippers to vote for the party which claimed to have outright rejected the offer.

Now, the mosque has been reported for election fraud, with chief prosecutor at the National Anti-Corruption Office Alf Johansson claiming that he is investigating the matter saying: “I will decide if there is a crime that can be suspected or not,” Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.

“It is on my desk and during the week I will decide if it will lead to an investigation or not. That is, I would dare to say, a new phenomenon and would require some consideration,” Johansson said.

“It is serious as it may affect the citizen’s view of the voting system. And disturb the public’s view of the security of the vote,” he added…”

  14. Austria Accuses EU of ‘Throwing in the Towel’ on Establishing African Migrant Centres (breitbart, Sep 14, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/09/14/austria-accuses-eu-of-throwing-in-the-towel-on-establishing-african-migrant-centres/

“Austria’s interior minister says the European Union’s migration commissioner is prematurely “throwing in the towel” on the idea of setting up centers for migrants in North Africa.

EU Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos was quoted in Austria’s Die Presse newspaper Thursday as saying the idea of slowing the flow of migrants to Europe by establishing holding centers was “practically impossible.”

Avramopoulos says “no country in this part of the Mediterranean has accepted the establishment of such a platform to date.”

Austrian Interior Minister Herbert Kickl on Friday, before meeting with his EU counterparts and Avramopoulos, called the comments a “bad signal,” saying the message should be “let’s try to take on this hard task.”

He says: “The idea is roughly two months old and … the EU commissioner’s already throwing in the towel.””

    • Austria Accuses EU of ‘Throwing in the Towel’ on Establishing African Migrant Centres

I guess the folks in Vienna yust don’t get it. To Brussels, all of Europe is one vast “African Migrant Centre”. Can there be any other explanation?

  15. Hungary: EU Sanctions Vote is ‘Petty Revenge’ for Proving Migration Can Be Stopped (breitbart, Sep 14, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/09/14/hungary-eu-sanctions-vote-petty-revenge-proving-mass-migration-stopped-czechs-poles-orban/

“Hungary has received the backing of its anti-mass migration allies in Poland and the Czech Republic following a vote of censure in the European Parliament, which the Central European country’s foreign minister has denounced as “petty revenge”.

“Today’s [European Parliament] decision is the petty revenge of pro-migration politicians,” declared Péter Szijjártó.

The Hungarian suggested that the EU establishment was seeking to make an example of Hungary, which was subject to an Article 7 vote, which could see the country stripped of its voting rights.

This is because Viktor Orbán’s government “proved that there is no need for migration and migration can be stopped” and this angered pro-migration politicians, in Szijjártó’s estimation.

“The decision [to censure Hungary] is yet more proof that there is a pro-migration majority within the [European Parliament]. We already knew this, but today we acquired more proof that they are in majority in the [European People’s Party] as well,” Szijjártó said, referring to the so-called ‘centre-right’ bloc which Hungary’s ruling Fidesz party sits with in Brussels and Strasbourg.

The EU establishment may have a hard time authorising Article 7 proceedings in the European Council, however, as its V4 allies are already stepping forward to say they will veto any attempt to levy sanctions.

“Every country has its sovereign right to make internal reforms it deems appropriate,” declared Poland’s foreign ministry — representing, as it does, an anti-mass migration conservative government facing its own Article 7 tussle with the EU.

“Actions aimed against member states serve only deepening divides in the EU, increasing citizens’ current lack of confidence to European institutions,” the ministry added.

Czech leader Andrej Babis was similarly robust on the topic: “This nonsense just ushers in negative sentiment into the European Union,” he said after the vote.

“I stand behind Orbán. We are allies,” he added.

In any event, the Hungarian government has said it intends to challenge the legality of the parliamentary vote, with Péter Szijjártó claiming that the vote was fraudulent, claiming the EU assembly “adopted the document through voting fraud because they didn’t take abstentions into account”.

According to the Hungarians, the Article 7 vote should have required “the support of 50 percent plus one of all MEPs… and those votes should constitute a two-thirds majority of all those present,” alleging the Parliament disregarded its own rules and ignored abstentions.”

  16. Four Belgian Political Parties Call for Banning of Pro-Sharia Islamist Party (breitbart, Sep 14, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/09/14/four-belgian-political-parties-call-banning-sharia-supporting-islamist-party/

“Four political parties are pushing forward laws that could prohibit the pro-sharia Partij Islam ahead of Belgium’s upcoming municipal elections.

The Independent Federal Democrat Party (DEFI), the right-wing Reform Movement (MR), the Humanist Democratic Centre (CDH), and the Socialist Party (PS) have announced a proposal to ban parties “whose aim is to threaten public liberties”, which may include the Islamist party, Le Point reports.

The party gained notoriety earlier this year after its founder, Anderlecht municipal councillor Redouane Ahrouch, declared: “Our goal is a one hundred percent Islamic state.”

He was later fired from his job as a bus driver for his comments which included suggesting that buses in Belgium should be segregated by gender to prevent women being sexually harassed.

The party’s proposals include a ban on consumer credit, the guarantee of citizens to slaughter animals in their homes, limit the sale of alcohol, ban tattooing and piercing, and reject the two-state solution of the Israel-Palestine conflict, arguing that Palestine is “under occupation”.

Theo Francken, Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration and member of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA) slammed the party on social media saying: “Sharia is in violation of human rights. The Sharia parties are therefore undemocratic. Real wolves disguised as lambs!”

While the party claims it will do well in the Brussels suburb of Molenbeek due to the large Muslim population, some are sceptical including Molenbeek mayor Françoise Schepmans who described it as a Shi’ite group.

“We have established a cordon sanitaire around them, as we did with Vlaams Belang (Flemish national party) and the Belgian National Front,” Schepmans said.

The local elections are the first in Molenbeek since the height of the migrant crisis in 2015 and since the Bataclan massacre in Paris in November of that year. Molenbeek became home to Bataclan terrorist Salah Abdeslam for months after the attack where he lived undetected until a police raid captured him.

The capture is believed to have been the catalyst for the Brussels terror attack that occurred shortly afterwards.”

Police say the student was armed with an ax and a firearm when he arrived at school Friday morning in the city 170 kilometers (105 miles) southeast of Amsterdam.

In a statement, police say that based on initial information the possible motive for the gunfire was “an argument with a fellow student.” They released no further details of the suspect or the weapons he was carrying.

Incidents of students carrying weapons to school are very rare in the Netherlands, which has tight gun ownership laws.”

“About 150 Muslims protested in Mumbai, India’s financial capital, on Friday to demand that China stop detaining thousands of minority Uighur Muslims in camps and political indoctrination centers in its Xinjiang region.

The protesters chanted “Down with China'” as they demonstrated outside a mosque after Friday noon prayers.

An organizer, Mohammed Saeed Nori, accused China of detaining many Muslims in camps and “snatching their religious freedom.”

China has tightened restrictions over the instruction of Islam and the Uighur language in an effort to assimilate the minority group into the Chinese mainstream, which is dominated by the Han ethnic group. It says the process will bring economic benefits to Xinjiang’s poor people.

China has denied operating the camps and said it is taking necessary measures to fight terrorism, religious extremism and separatism.”

“Police in southern France are holding a man on suspicion of attempted murder after he steered his car toward a crowd, lightly injuring two people.

A police spokeswoman said the man’s car was stopped by road barriers in the town of Nimes, which celebrates its annual grape-harvesting festival this weekend.

The man was arrested after the incident at around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

The spokeswoman said she had no information about the man’s motives but noted that the investigation is being handled by regular police, not anti-terror investigators who step in when terrorism is suspected.

The officer said she wasn’t authorized to be identified by name talking about the probe.

The local Midi Libre newspaper said bystanders stopped the man, in his 30s, from fleeing the scene.”

    • The spokeswoman said she had no information about the man’s motives but noted that the investigation is being handled by regular police, not anti-terror investigators who step in when terrorism is suspected.

However horrifying it is to imagine, I wonder how long it will take and how many police lives (or that of their family members) shall be required in order that LEOs (Law Enforcement Officers) finally push back by telling so-called “anti-terror investigators” that there aren’t any “lone wolves”—and they’d best stop this tsunami of killers before they reach into their own “anti-terror” investigative ranks, personal lives, along with those of their loved ones.

It’s only a matter of time. The butcher’s bill merely continues to pile up on the spike. There are no conceivable bankruptcy laws that EVER will immunize anyone from these meat-shop penalties. The bill collectors are Four Horsemen that no one ever wants to meet.

Stopping this remorseless quartet of “property assessors cum weights and measures enforcers” is both futile and a not-so-amusing contemporary morality play which too many honest people (i.e., “voters”) are being forced to watch—no matter how tired they are of the reruns. Think: Alex DeLarge during his “rehabilitation” sequence in, “A Clockwork Orange”.

It befalls so many because most “modern” politicians are “treading water” and unabashedly calling that, “service in office”. Too often, we are being served by those whose political, financial, and personal interests reside on a Phantom Planet of Deep State or whatever other alien domain occupied by those who directly benefit from prolonging this agony.

The upshot of this looms as a schistic driver towards psychosocial chaos which will be of no benefit to humanity (merely the global 1% – quelle surprise!). All-Too-Predictable Liberal de-emphasis of these negative Sorosian© (i.e., Globalist) consequences result in the purposeful maintaining of a constant pretense that the Four Horsemen simply can be held back by barricades piled high with Teddy bears, floral bouquets, candles, sympathy cards, and victim portraits.

Like so many plush toys being offered up at these distressingly more frequent public pyres (however Passive–Aggressive they may be), the Liberal morons who so unashamedly subscribe to such maudlin rubbish need to get equally stuffed.

  20. Obama finally admits he was for a single-payer healthcare system all along
By Howard Portnoy September 14, 2018

On Wednesday, the Associated Press published one of its famous “fact checks,” this one with the somewhat surprising title “Obama doesn’t always tell the straight story.” What was surprising was not that the AP didn’t come out and state bluntly “Obama sometimes lies” but that the news agency was critical of the former president at all. It wasn’t very often during his eight years in the White House.

The focus of the fact check was Obama’s “campaign speech” in Chicago last week, specifically his false insinuation that Donald Trump has been more hostile to the “free press” than he himself was. Maybe this is payback that has been a long time in coming since one of Obama’s media targets while in office was the AP itself. As the article reminds him and readers:

  23. the telegraph – Italy’s Matteo Salvini provokes vulgar outburst from Luxembourg in fresh row over migrants

Italy’s combative interior minister has again clashed with the European establishment, earning a vulgar rebuke from Luxembourg’s foreign minister over his views on immigration.

Matteo Salvini addressed a migration conference in Vienna on Friday and outlined his opposition to Italy accepting any more migrants and refugees crossing the Mediterranean from Libya and Tunisia.

He said he was totally opposed to the view, espoused by some European leaders, that with ageing populations, EU nations need to accept more migrants.

“I’ve heard colleagues say that we need immigration because the population of Europe is getting older, but I have a completely different viewpoint,” said Mr Salvini, who heads the anti-immigration League party.

“I believe that I’m in government in order to see that our young people have the number of children that they used to a few years ago and not to transplant the best of Africa’s youth to Europe.

“Maybe in Luxembourg they need to do this, but in Italy we need to help people have more children, rather than bring in modern-day slaves (from Africa) to replace the children we’re not having.”

The remark provoked the irritation of Jean Asselborn, Luxembourg’s foreign minister, who was sitting close by and started mumbling “Blah, blah, blah.”

Mr Salvini asked the minister if he could be allowed to finish his address, but Mr Asselborn, who is also Luxembourg’s minister for immigration and asylum, lost his patience and interjected in French.

“In Luxembourg, sir, we have welcomed thousands of Italians who came to work in our country, as migrants, so that you in Italy had money for your children.”

He finished with the words “Merde, alors”.

Mr Salvini, who is head of the hard-Right League party, gleefully shared the recording of the confrontation with his three million followers on Facebook.

“Look at the reaction (of the minister),” he wrote. “He didn’t take it very well.”

Italy’s populist government, which came to power in June, has a fractious relationship with the EU.

Both Mr Salvini and Luigi Di Maio, his partner in the government, on Thursday rebuked a European commissioner for likening populist leaders in Europe to “little Mussolinis”.

Pierre Moscovici, the EU’s economics affairs commissioner, compared the current economic climate with the rise of Fascism and Nazism in the 1930s and said that while Europe was not menaced by a new Hitler, there were plenty of “little Mussolinis”.

The remark drew a furious response from Mr Salvini, who accused the French politician of insulting Italy and said he should “wash his mouth out”.

Mr Salvini has managed to nearly double his party’s popularity since Italy’s general election in March, but critics accuse of him of fanning the flames of intolerance by using inflammatory rhetoric about migrants.

Filippo Grandi, the UN’s High Commissioner for Refugees, on Friday warned populist politicians across Europe not to “create space” for racism by using aggressive language.

“The language of politicians must not create space for racist attitudes,” Mr Grandi told a press conference in Rome.

He made the remarks a day after holding a meeting with Mr Salvini.

“I’m not accusing anyone, but the language of politicians has become very aggressive, not only in Italy,” he said.

Nearly 75,000 migrants and refugees have reached Europe by sea so far this year, compared to 129,000 over the same period last year, with the drop explained by the beefing up of the Libyan coast guard by the EU.

The number entering the EU by land, however, is sharply up – 18,000 so far this year, seven times more than during the same period in 2017.

reuters : Italy’s Salvini likens African immigrants to ‘slaves’

VIENNA/ROME (Reuters) – Italian far-right leader and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini likened African immigrants to slaves at a European conference on Thursday, drawing an angry response from Luxembourg’s foreign minister, who cursed at him in frustration.

Salvini, who heads the League party, has led a popular crackdown against immigration since Italy’s coalition government took office in June. He was speaking at a closed-door session of a conference on migration and security hosted by Austria, which holds the rotating European Union presidency.

“I heard someone say we need immigration because the population is aging. I see things completely differently,” Salvini told the session in remarks filmed and posted on his Facebook profile.

“I’m paid by citizens to help our young people start having children again the way they did a few years ago, and not to uproot the best of the African youth to replace Europeans who are not having children anymore… Maybe in Luxembourg there’s this need, in Italy there’s the need to help our kids have kids, not to have new slaves to replace the children we’re not having.”

Jean Asselborn, Luxembourg’s foreign and immigration minister, was sitting a few places down from Salvini and grew visibly angry as Salvini spoke, finally interrupting the Italian in French with “Allez, allez, allez”, suggesting he had gone too far.

“In Luxembourg we had tens of Italian immigrants. They came as migrants, who worked in Luxembourg so that you could in Italy had money to pay for your children,” he said in French, concluding with the exclamation “Merde alors!”.

Asselborn was apparently referring to the decades following World War Two, when several European countries took in migrant workers to meet the demand for labor during a prolonged economic boom.

The conference, which includes some European and African interior ministers as well as EU officials, was due to wind up on Friday afternoon. Salvini was also due to hold a joint news conference with Austrian far-right leader and Vice Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache at 4:15 p.m. (1445 GMT) on Friday.

      Luxembourg’s Foreign Minister hates Hungary

Luxembourgian Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn “hates Hungary”; he is a politician who is a fanatic supporter of immigration, and who is playing according to George Soros’s beat, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday.

They want to flood Europe, and accordingly Hungary too, with migrants; they are “extremist liberals who represent an unacceptable standpoint”, Mr. Szijjártó underlined.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade was reacting to a statement by Jean Asselborn in Monday’s online edition of German liberal daily Der Tagesspiegel, according to which he said with relation to the Stop Soros legislative package: “The EU must stand up and be outraged” and activate Article 7.

“Jean Asselborn has crossed all possible boundaries with his latest statement”, Mr. Szijjártó said.

“Jean Asselborn is an idiot, but the Hungarians are not; the people of Hungary have no need of the Luxembourgian Foreign Minister’s crazy ideas to know what’s good for them”, he stated.

According to the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Jean Asselborn’s statement has shown what is at stake at the upcoming elections in April.

“The Orbán Government is protecting Hungary’s security, but the Luxembourgian Foreign Minister would like to demolish the border security fence together with George Soros and his comrades in principle in Hungary, and flood Hungary with migrants”, Mr. Szijjártó highlighted.

  24. GOP Gives Up On Repealing Obamacare
They claim to have more important things to do.
    September 14, 2018
    Matthew Vadum

Republican lawmakers have made it clear they have no intention of repealing Obamacare in the current Congress.

Republicans in the nation’s top lawmaking body have never really wanted to get rid of Obamacare. They would prefer to present the program, which David Horowitz correctly describes as “the greatest assault on individual freedom and individual choice in our lifetimes,” as a villain and whip up sentiment against it and run against it every election. They view Obamacare as good for the business of politics. They may chip away at it from time to time or tinker with it at the margins, but make no mistake: these creatures of Washington want to keep it in place. This is the Republicans’ dirty secret.

Republicans have been promising to rip Obamacare out root and branch ever since it was enacted. They ramped up their rhetoric after the allegedly conservative-dominated Supreme Court declared the blatantly unconstitutional Obamacare law constitutional in the incoherent NFIB v. Sebelius ruling of 2012. Americans responded to this government takeover of a huge chunk of the economy by electing GOP-controlled congresses in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016, and by electing Donald Trump as president.

(After the verdict, he had famously joked, “It’s finally official: Murder is legal in the state of California.”) But this time, Norm was shoved out for questioning the #MeToo lynch mob and its ‘verdict first, trial second’ lynch mob.

“I’m happy the #MeToo movement has slowed down a little bit. It used to be, ‘One hundred women can’t be lying.’ And then it became, ‘One woman can’t lie,’” Norm Macdonald had joke. “And that became, ‘I believe all women.’ And then you’re like, ‘What?’”

  27. France Considers Requiring that All Local Police Carry Guns (breitbart, Sep 14, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/09/14/france-considers-requiring-all-local-police-carry-guns/

“With terrorism and related violence on the rise in France, a parliamentary commission is considering a mandate that officers in all municipalities carry guns.

Quartz reports that police in France are “overwhelmed” and that French interior minister Gérard Collomb is seeking a way to alleviate some of the officers’ burden. To that end, Collomb “launched a parliamentary commission to find ways to support security forces and municipal police.”

The commission put together over 70 recommendations to aid police, one of which is arming all “municipal police” who answer to the mayors in their specific locality and who are charged with preserving public safety.

The recommendation to arm all officers runs counter to current French law which directs municipal police to eschew the carrying of firearms save in situations where the mayor of a particular locality requests it.

It should be noted that the recommendation to arm all officers did not emerge from a vacuum. On January 19, 2015, 12 days after the Charlie Hebdo attackers gunned down unarmed French police, the Associated Press reported French police unions were urging Interior Ministry officials to provide “more” guns and “heavier” guns, as well as “protective gear, better training for first-responders, and more legal tools to guard against terrorists.”

France has now “identified 78 attempted terror attacks between October 2013 and March 2018 on home soil,” so the left cannot as easily dismiss Charlie Hebdo and similar attacks as isolated incidents. The parliamentary commission’s recommendation is a response to clear and present danger…”

  28. BBC ‘Fact Checking’ Backfires, Proves Rise in Murders, Violent Crimes Committed by Migrants in Germany (breitbart, Sep 14, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/09/14/bbc-447-killings-attempted-illegals-asylum-seekers-refugees-germany-2017/

“The BBC’s ‘Reality Check’ team has confirmed at least 447 killings and attempted killings by illegal migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees in Germany in 2017.

The publicly-funded broadcaster’s ‘fact-checking’ team had taken issue with Alternative for Germany (AfD) deputy leader Beatrix von Storch’s claim that Germany had seen “447 killings and murders by illegal migrants in the last year” — but their attempt to clarify the situation was less helpful than they might have intended.

“The German interior ministry says that in fact last year 27 illegal migrants either committed or attempted to commit murder or manslaughter,” their article admonishes — but then goes on to say: “The 447 figure refers to killings or attempted killings by all asylum seekers and refugees, most of whom are in Germany legally.”

Essentially, the ‘fact-checkers’ confirm the AfD’s figures — offering only a semantic objection to von Storch’s decision to describe migrants who lodged asylum applications after arriving in Germany as “illegal” migrants.

The BBC team also boasts that “Overall crime in Germany has fallen to the lowest level since 1992” — but has to concede that “there has been an increase in migrant crime”.

The broadcaster admits that “violent crime rose from 180,000 cases to 193,000 between 2014 and 2016 [and the] number of murders increased by 14.6 percent and rapes by 8 percent, over the same period”.

They also concede that criminal suspects classified as “asylum applicants or civil war refugees or illegal immigrants” represented a total of 8.5 percent of all suspects in 2017, “despite their population representing just 2 percent of Germany as a whole”.

With respect to violent crime, this over-representation is even more pronounced, with migrants accounting for 10.4 percent of murder suspects and 11.9 percent of sexual offence suspects for the year.

However, the ‘fact-checkers’ go on to hint that the blame for this should be attributed to the fact that “Asylum seekers in Germany face bureaucratic hurdles before they’re allowed to find work, and while they receive some money from the state, it is limited.”…”

The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC, agreed, and the trial date was pushed back from early next year.

  31. BREITBART –Orbán Warns EU Planning to ‘Open the Gate’ with New Brussels Border Force

EU plans to denationalise border protection and put Brussels in charge present a serious threat to Hungary and the whole of Europe, Viktor Orbán has warned.

The European Parliament’s vote on Thursday to censure Hungary over so-called “values” poses very little threat, the prime minister said, declaring that a much bigger battle will be over EU draft law which would put Brussels in control of national border protection and asylum policy.

On Wednesday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel claimed stopping illegal immigration would require “that the countries with an external border must give up some of their national responsibilities”.

“That requires a degree of solidarity, it is about people coming to us or our duty to make legal migration possible to help countries that are in trouble,” she added.

Speaking Friday morning, Orbán said: “Angela Merkel has said that the plan is that part of the border control should be handed over from frontier states to Brussels.”

“They want to take away from us the keys to the gate,” stated Orbán, telling national radio the nation’s next battle will be over “who will protect Hungary’s borders”.

“Because they were unable to persuade Hungary to let migrants in, the plan now is that they will take border protection rights away from us.

“They want no less than to send their mercenaries from Brussels to replace our Hungarians who are defending the border, and working as police and soldiers, whose homeland is important.

“Let us not be under any illusion… they will allow in migrants,” he added, warning that the EU leadership wants to destroy Hungarian resistance.

Almost all media coverage of EU plans to strengthen the bloc’s border agency, Frontex, has reported the move as Brussels getting serious about stopping illegal immigration to ward off rising populism.

But much of the draft legislation, which was presented by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker at his State of the Union address, was about denationalising asylum policy and border protection.

The bill would “expand the sphere of influence of the European Asylum Support Office (EASO)”, globalist media outlet Infomigrants said, reporting: “The main area where Juncker wants to see EASO take more responsibility is assisting EU member states with speeding up the processing of asylum applications while also contributing their expertise when migrants appeal against negative decisions made in the EU countries where they lodged their applications.”

Announcing the draft changes, Juncker said: “We cannot continue to squabble to find ad-hoc solutions each time a new ship arrives. Temporary solidarity is not good enough. We need lasting solidarity – today and forever more.”

The legislation also has the full support of the EU Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos, an open borders-backing idealogue who vowed that Europe “will never be a fortress” in May, as he promised the continent was set to absorb massive waves of third world migration “for decades to come”.

“From now onwards, the European Border and Coast Guard and the future EU Agency for Asylum will be able to ensure EU solidarity on the ground at all times, in all situations, whilst fully respecting member states’ competences,” Avramopoulos said of the draft legislation.
