    • I agree with the questions, what is so important that so many people are willing to risk a war with Russia to keep it hidden? What ever it is has to be so dirty that it will bring down many important people and possible one or more European governments. The next question is will this information ever be made public?

  1. More tumult in de-dollarization and currency wars. While it is said that China now controls the price of gold, the visceral sense of gold being released to true price discovery cannot be dismissed.

    https://tomluongo.me/2018/08/10/lira-collapse-jump-mediterranean-eu/

This said, given enough economic duress (nuclear gold option triggered), the U.S. may be forced to look north for prospects of solvency below ground. And with current Canadian PoMo vectors in motion it cannot happen soon enough.

    • 1) Don’t forget the big gold mines we have in the Rockies and Alaska.

      2) The article ignores the tariffs on China and how they are hurting China. The author seems to be believing the Red Chinese bull about their economy. The tariffs have already caused people in their Central Committee to start trying to take power away from Xi. China may not, probably won’t be able to help Turkey much if any.

      • I agree. I’m certain Trump thought about all possible scenarios. And the Arab, Iran, and India’s world won’t be happy with China dumping gold.

        • While it is said that China now controls the price of gold, the visceral sense of gold being released to true price discovery cannot be dismissed.

That “true price discovery” is going to be yugely traumatic.

And the Arab, Iran, and India’s world won’t be happy with China dumping gold.

Sassy, am I mistaken or doesn’t India hold more widespread, per capita individual gold (typically as a woman’s own “insurance policy”) than almost any other nation?

          • PS: “That “true price discovery” is going to be yugely traumatic.

Especially after we mine a single asteroid that contains more platinum than has been extracted in all of earth history. FLAPPING excellent twelve minute video to follow: (Miss this and you miss a lot.)

            • Will it happen yes, the question is will it happen while we are rich enough to do the research and build the space assets to mine the asteroids or will the left force us to stay our of space until our needs forces to use dirty polluting launch systgems (Orion drives) and be concentrating on getting the resources rather then getting the resources without getting the miners crippled or killed?

        • China dumps no gold except paper. Richard the danger is, in fact, China’s looming debt crisis. Yes the tarrifs are hurting and this is the peril. Like a cornered animal China will push the nuclear reset button releasing gold to true value before allowing the communist party to suffer.

  2. A4 Alchemy: Turkish Cops Nab Nigerian Who Said He Could Turn Paper Into Dollars (sputniknews, Aug 11, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/society/201808111067121060-turkey-nigerian-citizen-paper-dollars/

“The suspect, who was identified as Samsoon Bello, was arrested in Istanbul’s touristy Beyoglu district after police officers were tipped off.

Police in Istanbul have detained a Nigerian national who did not think twice before claiming that he could turn blank paper into US dollars, according to the Turkish daily Hurriyet.

In his failed attempt to defraud an array of hotel owners, the suspect, who has already been identified as Samsoon Bello, asked for an advance fee when vowing to make dollars from ordinary paper thanks to a special chemical solution that he claimed to have.

Earlier, local media reported that Belo was accused of making fake dollars and that he had been conditionally released pending a trial.”

        • There use to be a con where the conmen supposedly had a machine that would change $1.00 bill into $20.00.

This ecktually existed. During my earliest work with controlled plasma etching technology (basically a neon sign with a college degree), we had the FBI drop by with (insanely high-security) BLANK US CURRENCY PAPER (more linen, in reality), for us to electrically etch or “rough up” to different degrees (as a way of ensuring definite distinction between individual currency notes).

SIDEBAR: Try and imagine the everliving hell in India where varying value currency notes have different sizes. The ATMs are nothing short of a nightmare, like much else of India.

To continue: The reason for American counterfeiting? Mafiosos and other (Russian) crime rings were taking bundles of single dollar bills and bleaching them out to reprint and counterfeit twenty or hundred dollar bills.

Between this fraud and North Korea’s $100 “Supernotes” (look it up), the USA was forced to completely reconfigure its “paper” currency. How many bazillions did that cost us?!?

            • The con I was thinking of didn’t have a machine that worked.

NEVER underestimate the inventiveness of criminals.Only now are we learning this same lesson about terrorists.

  3. Erdogan Repeats His Call to Turks to Sell Dollars, Euros and Support Lira (sputniknews, Aug 11, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201808111067122400-erdogan-lira-dollars-euros/

“Earlier, in response to Washington’s move to double the steel and aluminum tariffs already in place against imports from Turkey, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a speech that while the US has its dollars, “Turkey has its God.”

Erdogan has again urged people in Turkey to sell dollars and euros to support Turkish lira, addressing supporters in the Turkish town of Unye.

Following Washington’s announcement, the exchange rate of the Turkish lira reached the all-time low, collapsing by more than 16 percent to the US dollar…”

  4. Iran threatens Trump with WORLD WAR 3 as it vows solidarity with Turkey over lira (express, Aug 11, 2018)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1002081/iran-trump-us-turkey-lira-dollar-world-war-3

“IRAN has threatened the US with WORLD WAR 3 in a vow of unity with Turkey after President Donald Trump imposed further sanctions on the nation that crippled the lira.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif warned Mr Trump that the “entire world would unite” and use “force” the US to scrap fresh sanctions imposed as a result of a spat over a detained American pastor and Turkey’s defiance to buy oil from Iran.

Mr Zarif – in true Trump fashion – took to Twitter to condemn the new sanctions in a chilling threat.

He said: “Trump’s jubilation in inflicting economic hardship on its NATO ally Turkey is shameful.

“The U.S. has to rehabilitate its addiction to sanctions & bullying or entire world will unite – beyond verbal condemnations – to force it to.”

He added: “We’ve stood with neighbours before, and will again now.”

Mr Trump is yet to respond.

Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hami Aksoy said yesterday that the sanctions, which disregard World Trade Organisation rules, “cannot be associated with seriousness expected from a state”.

He added: “All the steps taken against Turkey will be given a befitting response as they have been given before.”…”

    • It’s heading exactly where Trump wanted.
What’s left? Erdogan’s cells in Europe start making trouble.

      • Maybe, but with the Lira tanking he can’t keep paying them and it takes money to run a war, I ran won’t be able to pay much if any and Saudi has their money tied up fighting the proxy war with Iran. This will help guarantee that the Europeans win their war.

  5. Merkel Party Member Tells Germans Not to Be Worried About Becoming a Minority (breitbart, Aug 11, 2018)
    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/08/11/merkel-party-member-tells-germans-not-to-be-worried-about-becoming-a-minority/

“A member of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) has penned a column telling Germans they should not be worried about becoming minorities in their cities.

CDU politician Barbara John has claimed “it is only a matter of time before people with a migration background make up the majority of the population in larger cities,” and that Germans should not be worried, in a column the 80-year-old penned for German paper Tagesspiegel this week.

Last year, Frankfurt became the first city in Germany in which native Germans are a minority and almost all the recent population growth in the country has been shown to have been driven by mass migration.

“The trend towards the rapidly growing proportion of migrants is irreversible,” according to John who added that Dutch cities like Amsterdam and the centre of Rotterdam, in which the native Dutch are not the majority, prove that fears of becoming a minority were “unfounded”.

The large migrant population of Rotterdam and Amsterdam has had an effect on local life in the last several years, however. The large Turkish migrant population in Rotterdam rioted last year when Turkish ministers were refused entry into the country during a campaign for a referendum in Turkey.

Earlier this year, Moroccan migrants living in Rotterdam were arrested by Dutch authorities after they had discovered the two men had been plotting terror attacks in both the Netherlands and France.

In Amsterdam, Moroccan gang violence, known nationally as the Mocro War, has resulted in several violent incidents over the last several years including one in which a severed head was left on a street in the city.

Professor John added that migrants “are often divided, as is the case with locals” and added that native Germans and migrants would seek alliances based on “education, ethnicity, religion, culture and economics.”.

“So many things will be different and some things better,” she said.

Since her retirement in 2003, John has served both as a patron of the “Show Racism the Red Card” campaign and served on the board of the Muslim Academy in Germany.”

  7. Richard: Is the coordinated editorial attack suppose to do something the daily uncoordinated attacks aren’t?

Newspaper calls for war of words against Trump media attacks

BOSTON (AP) — A Boston newspaper is proposing a coordinated editorial response from publications across the U.S. to President Donald Trump’s frequent attacks on the news media.

“We are not the enemy of the people,” said Marjorie Pritchard, deputy managing editor for the editorial page of The Boston Globe, referring to a characterization of journalists that Trump has used in the past. The president, who contends he has largely been covered unfairly by the press, also employs the term “fake news” often when describing the media.

The Globe has reached out to editorial boards nationwide to write and publish editorials on Aug. 16 denouncing what the newspaper called a “dirty war against the free press.”

  8. DNC serves WikiLeaks with lawsuit via Twitter

The Democratic National Committee on Friday officially served its lawsuit to WikiLeaks via Twitter, employing a rare method to serve its suit to the elusive group that has thus far been unresponsive.

As CBS News first reported last month, the DNC filed a motion with a federal court in Manhattan requesting permission to serve its complaint to WikiLeaks on Twitter, a platform the DNC argued the website uses regularly. The DNC filed a lawsuit in April against the Trump campaign, Russian government and WikiLeaks, alleging a massive conspiracy to tilt the 2016 election in Donald Trump’s favor.

All of the DNC’s attempts to serve the lawsuit via email failed, the DNC said in last month’s motion to the judge, which was ultimately approved.

The lawsuit was served through a tweet from a Twitter account established Friday by Cohen Milstein, the law firm representing the DNC in the suit, with the intent of serving the lawsuit.

  9. Politicians involved in murder of Brazilian activist: govtRIO DE JANEIRO (AFP) –

Politicians and public servants have been linked to the murder of high-profile Brazilian lawmaker and black rights activist Marielle Franco, Brazil’s security minister Raul Jungmann said late Friday.

Jungmann, who said the murder may be politically motivated, would not reveal any names at this time because doing so could “hinder progress in the investigation.”

Nevertheless “I do not have the slightest doubt that there is nothing that prevents us denouncing them, all of them,” Jungmann told reporters.

On Aug. 1, Argentine newspaper La Nacion published an investigation that detailed alleged bribes from business executives to officials in the former governments of President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and her late husband, Nestor Kirchner. Evidence in the eight notebooks, kept from 2005 to 2015 by the chauffeur of a former government official, have led to the arrests of more than a dozen men. And Kirchner could be next.

  11. Trio Of Future Defendants Film Themselves Riding Atop New York City Subway Cars

A trio of New York City daredevils–surely soon to be in the custody of the NYPD–filmed themselves riding atop a series of subway cars as trains barreled through Brooklyn and Queens.

In videos posted to YouTube over the past three weeks, the train surfers are seen running, action movie-style, from car to car.

In a clip posted July 14, the surfers hop onto the roof of a subway car from an overhang at the aboveground Avenue H station in Brooklyn. At one point, the future defendants have to quickly duck down to avoid being decapitated by an overpass.

In a video posted Wednesday, the young men are seen riding atop trains traveling in Queens (at night and during the day). At times, one surfer is seen waving at straphangers waiting for local trains. He also made sure to pose for a video selfie, as seen in the still at right.

  12. Vaccine row erupts in Italy as populist govt seeks to ease rules

Rome (AFP) – A row is erupting over vaccines in Italy as the country’s new populist government fights to roll back a law that bans children from attending school if they haven’t received a series of jabs.

The law, adopted last year by the centre-left government that was booted out of power in March, made it compulsory for children in pre-school education to be vaccinated against 10 diseases, including measles, tetanus and poliomyelitis.

Parents who have not vaccinated their children by the time they reach school age (six years old in Italy) face a fine of up to 500 euros.

The new administration — formed of the anti-establishment Five Star Movement and the nationalist League — is leading the charge against the law.

Last week, the upper house Senate approved an amendment proposed by Five Star and the League pushing back enforcement of compulsory vaccination for pre-schoolers to the 2019-20 school year, pending a complete revision of the law after the summer recess.

  15. Microsoft Threatens to Shut Down Gab After Anti-Semitic Posts by User

Editor’s note: Since the publication of this article, more information has surfaced about the threatening nature of the posts, which seem to be a clear violation of Gab’s terms of service. PJ Media condemns violent threats in the strongest possible terms. See update below.

Microsoft Azure, the web hosting provider for Gab, has given the company 48 hours to delete some anti-Semitic posts or face a Big Tech shut-down. Gab is a Twitter alternative that claims to protect the right to free speech. It’s not a very good alternative, as the numbers just aren’t there to keep it interesting. Most of the time it’s just righties and ultra-righties fighting amongst themselves. But Gab’s claim to fame is that they won’t kick people off for having unpopular views or engaging in insult trading that morons refer to as “hate speech.” For some, that’s a worthwhile promise.

  17. President Trump Joins Lawmakers Calling on Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to Step Down

President Trump is joining Illinois lawmakers in calls for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to resign.

The president called out the mayor during a prison reform roundtable Thursday, saying the city has bad leadership.

This comes after city leaders called for the mayor to step down for failing to address a spree of violence which left 12-people dead and more than 70-people injured last weekend.

“They had 63 incidents last weekend and 12 deaths — that’s bad stuff happening and probably I guess you have to take from the leadership, that’s called bad leadership,” said President Trump. “There’s no reason in a million years something like that should be happening in Chicago.”

In response to the killings, Chicago police are adding hundreds of additional officers to areas heavily impacted by the violence.

  18. China says business ties with Iran no harm to any other country

BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s business and energy ties with Iran do not harm the interests of any other country, the country’s Foreign Ministry said, after U.S. President Donald Trump said companies doing business with Iran would be barred from the United States.

China has already defended its commercial relations with Iran as open and transparent as U.S. sanctions on Iran took effect despite pleas from Washington’s allies.

In a statement released late on Friday, China’s foreign ministry reiterated its opposition to unilateral sanctions and “long-armed jurisdiction”.

“For a long time, China and Iran have had open, transparent and normal commercial cooperation in the fields of business, trade and energy, which is reasonable, fair and lawful,” it said.

“This does not violate United Nations Security Council resolutions or China’s promised international obligations, nor does it harm the interests of any other country, and should be respected and protected,” the ministry added.

Using sanctions at the slightest pretext or to threaten anyone won’t resolve the problem, it said.

“Only dialogue and negotiations are the true path to resolving the issue,” the ministry added.

  19. U.N. says it has credible reports that China holds million Uighurs in secret camps

GENEVA (Reuters) – A United Nations human rights panel said on Friday that it had received many credible reports that 1 million ethnic Uighurs in China are held in what resembles a “massive internment camp that is shrouded in secrecy.”

Gay McDougall, a member of the U.N. Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, cited estimates that 2 million Uighurs and Muslim minorities were forced into “political camps for indoctrination” in the western Xinjiang autonomous region.

“We are deeply concerned at the many numerous and credible reports that we have received that in the name of combating religious extremism and maintaining social stability (China) has changed the Uighur autonomous region into something that resembles a massive internship camp that is shrouded in secrecy, a sort of ‘no rights zone’,” she told the start of a two-day regular review of China’s record, including Hong Kong and Macao.

China has said that Xinjiang faces a serious threat from Islamist militants and separatists who plot attacks and stir up tensions between the mostly Muslim Uighur minority who call the region home and the ethnic Han Chinese majority.

  20. Report: U.S. Aegis destroyer ‘escorting vessels through’ Strait of Hormuz
    By J.E. Dyer August 11, 2018

Fox has this buried in a news report about a short-range ballistic missile launch by Iran. The test launch of a Fateh-110 Mod 3 (nominal range 180 statute miles/300 km) took place last week in conjunction with the maritime control exercise in the Strait of Hormuz, which was notable for its size and unusual timing.

The Fateh-110 is not a nuclear-capable or medium-range missile, and moreover, the Mod 3 is an anti-ship version, tested previously in March 2017. Testing it thus does not, strictly speaking, violate the terms of UNSCR 2231, the implementation instrument for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) of 2015. Whether the exercise launch of a Fateh-110 Mod 3 violates the Iran Freedom Policy and Sanctions Act of 2018 is a matter of interpretation.

The launch of a nuclear-capable medium-range ballistic missile would be more solidly in violation of U.S. sanctions criteria. Iran conducted four such launches in 2017 (after conducting 10 in 2016), but had conducted no ballistic missile launches in 2018 until last week. For a good summary of Iranian ballistic missile activity since July 2015, see the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies report from January 2018 here.

  22. Dem Rep. Steve Cohen’s latest: He wishes GOP colleague dead
By Howard Portnoy August 11, 2018

What a guy! In 2013, when many Americans were losing their health care coverage thanks to the passage of Obamacare, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) gave them what amounted to a middle finger. “Change is hard,” he smirked imperiously. “Get over it. Barack Obama is president, and the Affordable Care Act is the law.”

More recently, Cohen displayed a more compassionate side, although the “victim” he was sympathizing with was contemptible FBI agent Peter Strzok, whom Cohen said “deserved a purple heart” for appearing before the House Judiciary Committee, where he answered roughly a third of the questions put before him.

On Thursday, evidence of a new Cohen gem emerged thanks, improbably, to the HuffPost, which published a soundbite of Cohen wishing that fellow Tennessean and Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn would “jump off” a bridge.

The occasion for this latest instance of Cohen wit and charm was, of all things, a community prayer breakfast in Memphis last month. Former Gov. Phil Bredesen, who is running for the Senate against Blackburn, was present at the meeting. In the audio, Cohen can be heard saying:

  23. Berkeley cops post mug shots of Antifa rioters; liberals freak out
By Jeff Dunetz August 11, 2018

Oops, the left is upset. Some leftists lambasted the Berkeley Police Department because they outed violent Antifa goons arrested Sunday by posting the mugshots of those arrested, along with their names, and the alleged crimes for which they were arrested. The practice is not unusual for the Berkeley PD. These leftists are claiming that the cops were looking to arrest only the Antifa gangs during the protests, when actually the cops were looking to arrest only the violent protesters.

  24. U.S. requires Chinese firm to shed some of the Chinese-held real estate near Trump Tower
    By J.E. Dyer August 10, 2018

The Wall Street Journal reports that the U.S. government is requiring a Chinese company, the HNA Group, to sell its stake in a 21-story building in New York City near Trump Tower.

Among other tenants, the building at 850 Third Avenue (see map) houses a police precinct tasked with protecting Trump Tower.

    According to WSJ:

The Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S., which reviews whether foreign investments in the U.S. represent national-security risks, informed the Chinese company a couple of months ago it had to divest itself of its holding in the building, according to these people. CFIUS, as the committee is known, didn’t explain to HNA why it had to sell the property, one of these people said.

Reportedly, the HNA Group acquired its 90% interest in the building in 2016, shortly before Trump was elected. The article doesn’t mention it, but ordinarily, that 2016 purchase would have required a CFIUS review, and presumably got one. CFIUS is empowered in some cases to require foreign owners to sell after the fact, however, as well as being involved in initial purchase bids.

    https://libertyunyielding.com/2018/08/10/u-s-requires-chinese-firm-to-shed-some-of-the-chinese-held-real-estate-near-trump-tower/

    • This one is interesting because of the way the Chinese Government owns large, often majority interest in all of the businesses just as they don the banks. Their continued ownership put a Chinese Communist Government building near the New York Home of the President, one that is the location of the headquarters of the New York Police unit that protects the Presidential Home.

I wonder why it took so long for this decision to be made?

Was the Deep State involved in the delay?

Inquiring minds want to know. (HT NR)

    • Deutsche Welle – African migrants set course for Spain from Morocco

German Chancellor is meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to discuss migration.

More and more African migrants are setting course for Spain and pushing the country to its limits.

Their numbers have already tripled over those for all of 2017.

    • Spain: Residents call for action over rising migrant tide

Residents and tourists in the port of Barbate reacted on Saturday to the flux of migrants attempting to reach Spain across the Strait of Gibraltar, one day after 78 migrants arrived in Barbate after being picked up by Spain’s Maritime Rescue Service.

The Barbate cemetery has several tombstones dedicated to ‘missing’ migrants who have drowned during the hazardous journey across the Strait.

“Now more dinghies are coming, therefore we are having more, there are more corpses,” cemetery caretaker Rafael said.

“This year is going to be bad. If Europe and the Spanish government don’t get their act together and don’t do anything for these people, they will be cultivating a grave in the Strait for them.”

  25. FULL DAVID BROCK CONFIDENTIAL MEMO ON FIGHTING TRUMP

“Media Matters will push back on conservative misinformation across all media channels in the information ecosystem and specifically neutralise the effects and infrastructure of the newly empowered alt-right.”

  26. National Post -Christie Blatchford: – We need answers from our authorities, not sympathy and silence

I don’t want more thoughts and prayers, makeshift memorials or candlelight vigils. How about some hard, factual information in a timely manner?

    Here we go again.

This time, there were five of them — Fredericton’s police chief and deputy chief, the RCMP superintendent now running the homicide investigation, the mayor of the lovely New Brunswick capital city and the premier of the province.

This was more than eight hours after the shooting early Friday morning that left four people dead, including two Fredericton police officers and two civilians, and may have seen as many as seven other civilians wounded.

And yet among them, the five officials had almost nothing to say beyond the identification of the two slain officers — they were Const. Robb Costello, a 45-year-old veteran, and Const. Sara Burns, a 43-year-old newbie with two years’ experience on the job and two more as an auxiliary officer.

Between them, the two officers leave behind seven children.

What the heck happened at the four-building Brookside Drive apartment complex?

What scant detail there was came from Fredericton Deputy Chief Martin Gaudet.

The two officers, he said, were responding to a “shots fired” call, which had come in around the time of shift change, and hearing it, Costello and Burns “jumped in a cruiser and went to the scene.”

Once on scene, about 7:10 a.m., they saw the “civilian victims on the ground and that’s when they (the officers) were shot.”

Asked about other, injured victims, Gaudet replied that the investigation “is ongoing.” Asked if the call was a domestic call, he repeated that police were responding to a shots fired call. Asked about the weapon used by the shooter, whom Gaudet identified only as a 48-year-old Fredericton man, he gave no information.

It was an Ontario Premier Doug Ford-like press conference, if you will — tightly controlled, with brief formal statements and a limited number of appropriately respectful questions allowed (by my count, about five) and a minuscule amount of information given.

The other officials spoke of the terribleness of the day (Chief Leanne Fitch, who said it was “the worst moment for any chief of police”), asked for thoughts and prayers, and expressed confidence that “we will heal” in time so long as “the big family that is Canada” pulls together (Premier Brian Gallant).

Honest to Pete, in that big Canadian family, I am an outlier, an orphan, the awful black sheep.

I don’t want more thoughts and prayers, makeshift memorials, candlelight vigils (by mid-day, two were planned for Fredericton Friday night) or ostensibly stirring talk about Canadians coming together.

How about some hard, factual information in a timely manner?

The local hospital, Horizon Health Network, gave more, saying it was treating “multiple victims” related to the shooting and asking Frederictonians to avoid going to emergency if possible.

That was generally confirmed by Gerry Mckay, the building manager for the low-rise, red-brick Brookside complex where the shootings took place.

He told the National Post in a phone interview Friday, with typical Maritime frankness and friendliness, that he believed seven people had been injured. He’d heard, he said, that the shooter (“I’m sorry, dear, but I can’t tell you that”) lived in the complex, as did, he believed, the male civilian who’d been killed.

The residents of the complex have been told they’ll be out of their apartments for several days, Mckay said, and had been taken at least temporarily to the Willie O’Ree recreation complex.

As ever, the gap between the ordinary people of this country and the institutions they trust to protect them is a chasm.

While multiple murder remains unusual in Canada, it is hardly unknown. In 2014, after all, less than two hours away by road, Justin Bourque killed three Mounties and wounded two others in a carefully constructed shooting rampage.

Police are often the first to bear the brunt of murderous rage. Whenever officers are killed in the line of duty, running towards the sounds of shots fired as the two Fredericton constables did, it is useful to remember the words of the previous Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper.

He wasn’t much for hugs and prayers. What he said at the funeral of the slain Mounties was this: “That is the understanding between us: Their service, and our support.”

As is often the case, I miss Harper’s toughness.

  27. YOUTUBER – Smile 2 Jannah – WEIGHS IN ON THE BORIS JOHNSON BURKA REMARKS DEFENDED BY Rowan Atkinson.

He describes his channel as “halal comedy” that teaches about Islam. The video shows him reading trending twitter feed and making his comments. The comments at youtube are, well, also “halal”.

“You know you are living in a dark world when modesty is seen as barbaric and nudity is seen as empowerment.?”

“If we allow them to make jokes about Islam they will slowly do what they do with Christianity?”

  28. One month before the election, Sweden’s ruling government obtained the ability to silence opponents on Facebook

Sweden’s government has been given a direct hotline to Facebook to remove “unreasonable things” and “problematic campaigns”, news outlet Samhällsnytt reports, and this is just in time to silence their opponents in the upcoming elections.

“The call has been made”. Infrastructure Minister Peter Eriksson MP has described the cooperation between Facebook and the government to delete unwanted content in a candid interview.

The politician commends the willing cooperation of the social media company. At the same time, more and more of the opposition are leaving social media.

Yesterday in a feature in Studio One on Sweden’s Radio P1, the Minister shared the results of the government’s pressure on Facebook and other digital giants. He stated that the Swedish election is “threatened” and Facebook “kept their promise” to the government.

  29. The Hungarian government is discontinuing programs in gender studies at state-run universities after determining the programs serve no identifiable purpose and are based on “ideology rather than science.”
Bence Rétvári, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Human Resources (EMMI), said that university degrees must be rooted in a scientific basis, whereas gender studies, “like Marxist-Leninism,” are more aptly termed ideology than science, and are inappropriate matter for university-level education.

A spokesman for the Hungarian government told Breitbart News that there is no demand for gender studies graduates in the Hungarian job market.

“There is no economic rationale for studies such as these,” he said, and nor does the program “furnish students with skills that can be readily and directly converted on the labour market.”

  31. France: Muslims murder man for trying to rescue his friends who were being attacked
AUG 11, 2018 11:48 AM BY ROBERT SPENCER 1 COMMENT
“The police and gendarmes are doing everything they can, but the truth is that the state is afraid of this minority of ultra-violent people who terrorize the majority of the poor people in the neighborhoods.”

What kind of future could France possibly have as long as that remains true?

    • Not 100% sure, but I believe that Podemos means, “we can do it”, which is much like Angela Merkel’s slogan for mass migration into Europe.

And its the name of a Spanish communist party…

  32. Cafe shuts down after being accused of racism for adorning sandwiches with Union Jack flags

Station 164 in Hornchurch, east London, had inserted tiny British flags in sandwiches and English breakfasts since they opened in 2016. They started using England flags during the World Cup to show support for the England team.

Owner, Candy Merrett, replied in a Facebook post to the accusation explaining that it was the first time in two years any customers had said anything negative about the flags, with many tourists taking the flags home as a memento, saying up to four people had.

  35. The de-platforming of Alex Jones and InfoWars is a subject that has a number of layers to it, including the responsibilities social media companies have to free speech — particularly in a world where the lines between Big Tech and Big Government are increasingly blurred. While I’ll leave others to debate those particular subjects, these developments — and reactions to it — do help provide clarity to another heated tech-related debate: the hypocrisy of “net neutrality” advocates.

After all, there is a ton of overlap between those who advocated Title II regulation of the internet and those celebrating the deplatforming of Alex Jones. This is particularly true among the most powerful players in this debate, including legislators and leaders in the industry.

Consider, for example, the reaction from Big Tech to the FCC’s repeal Title II regulation last December.

  37. A professor who threatened to “fight” people who criticized social justice activists allegedly put a well-known YouTuber who had slammed identity politics in gaming in a headlock and repeatedly punched him last Thursday.

As Toni Airaksinen at Campus Reform reports, multiple witnesses attest that after GenCon, an annual gaming conference held in Indianapolis, Professor Matthew Fantastic Loter, who was scheduled to teach “Introduction to Game Design” at Quinnipiac University in Fall 2018, grabbed YouTuber Jeremy Hambly from behind at the Tin Roof bar in Indianapolis, put Hambly in a headlock, repeatedly punched him, and yelled “I’m going to f***ing kill you.”

Witnesses said that when Hambly escaped from the headlock, another customer barred Loter from pursuing him, prompting Loter to punch and break a glass window of the bar.

  38. Pakistan: Two Chinese among five injured in suicide bus attack

At least five passengers were injured in a suicide attack on a bus just outside the city of Dalbandin in the southwest Pakistani region of Baluchistan on Saturday.

Among the injured were two Chinese engineers who were reportedly returning from a mineral project in Quetta, as well as the bus driver and two local paramilitary troops.

  39. A Solidarity Party County Councillor from Blanchardstown, Matthew Waine has spoken out against flying the national flag as it could be offensive to foreign nationals.

According to the Dublin Gazette, the Fingal County Councillor opposed a motion by Sinn Fein Councillor Daire Ni Laoi to fly the tri-colour over the county council offices in Swords.

Waine would prefer if flags representing the LGTBQ or Traveller community were flown rather than the flag of Ireland, which is now offensive to some extreme adherents of political correctness.

However, many have expressed shock that an Irish politician would oppose flying the flag that so many of our forefathers fought and died for the right to fly in an independent Ireland.

Expressing their disgust that Waine’s words were disgusting and downright moronic and his party will pay for them at the next election.

  40. 10 Aug 201864
A Muslim convert has pleaded guilty to plotting to massacre around 100 people in a terror attack outside the Disney Store in London’s most famous shopping district, Oxford Street.
Lewis Ludlow, 26, swore allegiance to Islamic State and wrote down his murderous plans on a piece of paper which was later found ripped up in a bin, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said Friday.

He was also a follower of the radical preacher and convicted Islamic State recruiter Anjem Choudary, who police allowed for many years to preach in Britain, and feature in the mainstream media.

In March and April of this year, Ludlow made extensive preparations for the attack. He bought a phone under a fake name and researched different targets in London, van rentals, and hotels.

Oxford Street was an “ideal” target he wrote in the incriminating note, adding: “It is expected nearly 100 could be killed in the attack”.

  41. A 29-year-old man stole a plane with no one else on board from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport late Friday before crashing on a nearby island, authorities said.

The man was a resident of Pierce County, Wash., and “acted alone,” the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department tweeted, describing him as “suicidal.”

Alaska Airlines said it “believes” the man was a ground service agent working for Horizon Air. He took off without clearance at around 8 p.m. local time before crashing about an hour later, the company said in a statement.
