“Secretary Pompeo’s speech has not demonstrated how walking away from the JCPOA has made or will make the region safer from the threat of nuclear proliferation or how it puts us in a better position to influence Iran’s conduct in areas outside the scope of JCPOA,” Mogherini stressed.
She recalled that the Iran nuclear deal is “the result of more than a decade of complex and delicate negotiations”, touting the JCPOA as “the best possible outcome, striking the right balance.”
“This deal belongs to the international community, having been endorsed by the United Nations Security Council. The international community expects all sides to keep the commitments they made more than two years ago,” Mogherini pointed out.
She also underscored Iran’s adherence to the JCPOA, reiterating that the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed ten times that Iran had delivered on “all its nuclear related commitments” in line with the deal…”

Qassem Soleimani, the head of the branch of the Revolutionary Guards that carries out operations outside Iran’s borders, was singled out by Mr Pompeo as a top troublemaker in the Middle East.
But Mr Kowsari said the Iranian people backed Mr Soleimani.
He said: ”Soleimani is not a single person. The great people of Iran support him.”
Iranian government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht said Mr Pompeo’s plans would exacerbate the public’s hostility towards the US.
He said: “Do the Americans think that the silk glove that they’ve taken out and the iron hand that they’ve extended to the people, a hand that’s backed by Israel and the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization, will make Iranian people think that America wants democracy?”
The Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO) is an exiled Iranian armed opposition group which has called for the overthrow of the Iranian government for decades.

“The former editor-in-chief for the Sweden Democrats magazine Samtiden (“Our age”) has been interrogated by the authorities after being reported to the police by the Net Hate Examiner group. The reason is two satirical drawings about Islamism he published on Facebook.
After publishing a picture including two fictional book covers, journalist and pundit Jan Sjunnesson has been called into police interview for “incitement of hatred.” Sjunnesson himself sees this as an attempt to discredit him.
The picture that landed Sjunnesson in hot water was published in connection with the Gothenburg Book Fair in September 2017, which featured two divisive books that led to a hot debate: “Grandmother is no Ghost” and “Grandfather Has Four Wives.” The two books were published in collaboration with the society, Somali Nordic Culture and enlightened preschoolers about other cultures’ ways such as polygamy and full face veils.
To this, Sjunnesson responded with a picture of two imaginary book titles. One of them is called “Mustafa wants to come along” and features children picking up stones to hurl at a girl. The other one is called “With Grandpa at Work” and shows two men torturing a third one with a whip.
Sjunnesson recorded the police interrogation which happened on May 15 and went on to publish it in full. During the hearing, Sjunnesson admitted having posted the image, but denied committing any crime.
“I didn’t mean any disrespect,” Sjunnesson said during the interrogation, pointing out that the images were meant as satirical.
According to Sjunnesson, he was reported to the police by the taxpayer-funded Näthatsgranskaren (Net Hate Examiner) group, which is on the lookout for online posts containing hate speech. The group presents itself as independent, yet received a total of SEK 600,000 ($74,000) in state aid via the Swedish Agency for Youth and Society (MUCF) in 2017.
“Note that I did not draw the fictional covers and that my comment does not concern religion or ethnicity,” Sjunnesson subsequently commented on his blog.
Fellow journalist and writer Katerina Janouch urged the public to share these “insulting” pictures to “give these Net Hate Terrorists a pain in the neck” and support Jan Sjunnesson. “Please RT. Let’s commit felony together,” Janouch tweeted.
Despite the images potentially being ruled criminal, they were shared by Sweden Democrats leader Jimmie Åkesson as a token of solidarity and in support of freedom of expression.
“Sweden is a democracy, and in a democracy satire is allowed. This picture is just satire about how foreign, medieval phenomena get normalized in 21st century Sweden. This cannot be illegal. It must not become illegal, as it would mean that the decline has already gone very far,” Åkesson wrote on Facebook, urging all “friends of Sweden” to do likewise.

Tarek Jadaoun, 30, also known as Abu Hamza al-Beljiki, joined Islamic State in 2014 and was arrested in Mosul, Islamic State’s erstwhile Iraqi capital, last summer.
He has featured prominently in the group’s propaganda videos, which threatened attacks on European soil.
“Al-Beljiki, who is of Moroccan origin, is one of the most wanted foreign fighters who fought on behalf of the terrorist organisation in Syria and Iraq,” Judge Abdul-Sattar al-Birqdar, the spokesman for the Supreme Judicial Council, said in a statement.
Islamic State captured a third of Iraq in 2014 but was largely defeated both there and in neighbouring Syria last year. Iraq’s government declared victory over the group in December.

“Let me tell you something that I know for a fact,” Caputo told host Laura Ingraham. “This informant, this person that they tried to plant into the campaign — and even into the administration, if you believe Axios — he’s not the only person who came at the campaign. And the FBI is not the only Obama agency who came at the campaign.
“I know because they came at me,” Caputo added. “And I’m looking for clearance from my attorney to reveal this to the public. This is just the beginning.”
Axios has reported that the suspected FBI informant in the Trump campaign was recommended for a senior post in the Trump administration.

White South African farmers claiming persecution at home seek refuge in Australia
More than 200 farmers from South Africa have applied for humanitarian visas in Australia after allegedly suffering attacks for being white, according to the Australian Home Affairs Ministry.
“The type of criteria they of course have to meet – or the key one – is evidence of persecution, so that’s exactly what we will be looking at,” Home Affairs Deputy Secretary Malisa Golightly said. Home Affairs said 89 refugee visa applications relating to 213 people had been received, although they did not specify their ethnicity or any other details.

Investors like Alden Global Capital LLC, Chatham Asset Management LLC and Fortress Investment Group LLC have acquired ownership stakes in newspapers that have struggled to adapt in an online world, from the Miami Herald to the Providence Journal to the Charlotte Observer. Funds have brought their cost-cutting know-how to help restructure several newspaper chains in heavy debt after the 2008 financial crisis.
But the evolving ownership picture has sparked fresh questions over whether investment firms can really help save local newspapers by making them profitable again — or if they’ll starve them to the point that they collapse instead. “French authorities have been warned that Muslims could “set fire to the neighbourhood” in one of Paris’s migrant-populated suburbs following a court order to take down a number of tents erected for Ramadan.
An administrative court ordered the tents, which were erected in the commune of Sevran in north-east of Paris, to be taken down as they were placed in a private car park, Le Parisien reports.
The mayor and the Muslim organisers of the tents, which are used to house Muslims praying during the holy month of Ramadan, were given until Tuesday to remove the installations by the court, fueling anger and warnings that the situation could escalate into riots.
If the tents are not removed by the Tuesday deadline, the city could face fines of €2,000 per day.
Mostefa Arar, secretary general of a local association, said: “It has been four years since we installed the tents on this parking lot, at the furthest place from the houses to disturb as little as possible.”
“In all the other neighbourhoods of Sevran donors allow associations to install tents, why should not we have the right to do so?” Arar added and called the court case a “provocation”.
Sevran has a high number of residents with migrant backgrounds, many from Muslim-majority countries. As far back as 2013, it was shown that more than half of the residents of the area, declared a “sensitive urban zone” or ZUS, were from migrant backgrounds.
Riots are not uncommon in Paris’s suburbs and are usually ignited by interactions between locals and the police, as was the case last year when major rioting broke out after a resident named Theo claimed police had purposely inserted a baton into his rectum. Later evidence and expert testimony cast doubt on Theo’s original claim.
A recent incident in Toulouse, where a Muslim woman was told to remove her niqab as they are banned under French law, is said to have potentially sparked rioting in one of the city’s suburbs. Others claimed that the death of a prisoner at a nearby prison may also have been the trigger for the violence.”

Airport staff in Gothenburg have been told how to respond in such circumstances, said Katarina Idegard, who is in charge of tackling honor-based violence in Sweden’s second biggest city.

“The European Court of Auditors has estimated that 18 per cent of legal residents in the European Union — over 90 million people — are first- or second-generation migrants.
The Court estimated that around 4 per cent of the population — 21 million people — were first-generation legal migrants from outside the EU, with the jump to 18 per cent when second-generation migrants are taken into consideration, highlighting how mass migration continues to transform receiving nations beyond the initial influx.
It issued its extraordinary estimates in a briefing paper on “integration”, which conceded the bloc faces the significant “challenges” integrating the many newcomers, and highlighted the alarming increase in the number of migrants arriving via the asylum route claiming to be refugees.
However, the briefing paper notes that the plurality of the migrant population living in the EU without EU citizenship — 39 per cent — has established itself through chain migration via family reunion.
This is a migration route the Donald Trump administration in the U.S. is attempting to restrict, but the Court of Auditors — somewhat paradoxically — actually recommended it as an “essential” integration tool in the EU.
Individual EU member-states — including the United Kingdom, at least until after Brexit goes through and the mooted Brexit ‘transition’ period ends — would have difficulty restricting family reunion-based chain migration on their own initiative, as the European Council deems it a “right” under EU Directive 2003/86/EC.
It should be noted that the briefing paper does not appear to consider the migrant-descended population beyond the second generation, which is considerable in countries such as Britain, France, and Germany, which have been bringing in large numbers of migrants from North Africa, South Asia, and Asia Minor for decades.
The briefing paper explicitly does not consider the migrant population which is resident in the European Union illegally, which is also considerable — with the illegal migrant population of Britain alone estimated at over a million by David Wood, former Director-General of Immigration Enforcement.
The Court does note that the migrant population is concentrated in just five EU member-states, with Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom playing host to 77 per cent of the total migrant population — while countries which have resisted mass migration, like Hungary and Poland, remain overwhelmingly homogeneous…”

“French police have arrested three people after an African migrant drug dealer was beaten to death in broad daylight by a gang of teenagers in southern France.
Before horrified onlookers in the town of Pau, the man was brutally kicked, punched, and beaten with a plastic chair leg and a piece of wood by a group of up to 12 teenagers, local media reported.
The victim, 32, had a history of violent criminality and drug dealing, and his attackers were described as teenagers aged between 12 and 17.
The French press has dubbed it a “terrifying lynching”.
Cecile Gensac, a local prosecutor, confirmed Monday three people had been arrested in relation to the murder. The victim was revealed as a French national born in Burkina Faso, West Africa, who had recently moved from Paris.
“The man died Friday in the street in an area of Pau after a group attacked him,” she told AFP.
The Saragosse housing estate, where the attack happened, is known for its high levels of crime and is typical of many deprived, high-immigration urban areas of France. Gérard Collomb, France’s Minister of the Interior, promised more police in the area following the murder.
The killing committed by such young people in a grassy public area shocked locals and was widely reported on Monday, with Le Parisien newspaper calling it a “terrifying lynching”.
“They’re very young: 12, 13, 14 years old. It’s a gang around here that smokes weed, that causes problems,” one local told La Republique des Pyrenees newspaper.
Newspaper Sud Ouest quoted a young mother who witnessed the murder as saying: “There were 12 on him, then he fell to the ground. Four of them carried on beating him and there was one who finished him off.”
Another witness, who was picnicking on the grass with children when the attack started, said: “I’m still in shock – I cannot believe what I saw.”
She added: “There was a dozen on him, beating him. It was unbelievable. There was nothing we could do other than alert the emergency services.””

The Civey poll shows a strong distrust across the political spectrum for BAMF in the wake of the scandal that has rocked the agency, Die Welt reports.

With gifts, drink, and drugs, so-called ‘loverboys’ will seduce a girl into agreeing to become his sex partner before taking pictures or video footage of the encounter which will then be used as leverage to force her into prostitution, Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad reports.
“These men are mostly Moroccans, Turks, Caribbeans, and Roma. The lion’s share of them have a migrant background,” said Gideon van Aartsen from Watch Nederland, an initiative which coordinates with the nation’s police on efforts to fight child sexual exploitation (CSE).
He told the newspaper that selling sex with schoolgirls is a “lucrative trade” that can earn “up to 800 euros a day on a girl” for ‘loverboys’, most of whom are part of larger networks that are also involved in trafficking illegal drugs and weapons.
Annually around 1,400 Dutch minors fall victim to ‘loverboys’ — a term used in the country to refer to young men who lure underage teens into relationships then force them into the sex industry — according to police human trafficking experts Marijke van Overveld and Esmee Huijps.
They said that with the advent of video smartphones it is no longer necessary for the men to have to convince victims that they’re in a relationship as used to be the case when grooming girls into sexual slavery.
“The seduction process takes only between a week and a fortnight now, when it used to take months,” said Huijps, explaining that girls are told they must either agree to work as a prostitute or else footage of them having sex will be uploaded to social media.
“Once they have a compromising video of you, that is enough for blackmail. Especially for young girls, whose parents do not know anything.”
Lamenting the cruelty and abuse to which trafficked girls are subjected, van Aartsen told Algemeen Dagblad: “These girls, who are just minors, are given orders like ‘make sure you bring three [female] friends, and I’ll let you get away with f***ing five men fewer each day.’”
So-called loverboys have also been known to make their victims roll a die, and then force her to see that many customers before the end of the day, he added.
As is the case with many victims of the predominantly Muslim grooming gangs who prey on underage girls in towns including Rotherham and Oxford across the UK, girls who fall victim to ‘loverboys’ in the Netherlands are “largely, but not always, vulnerable women from a lower social class and who have an unstable home life”, according to the report…”

Democratic California Rep. Maxine Waters is paying her daughter more than $100,000 in campaign funds this election cycle, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Citizens for Waters has already paid $42,862 to the congresswoman’s daughter, Karen Waters, since the beginning of 2017, FEC files show. The campaign is scheduled to pay the younger Waters another $65,000 for her “professional services” working on a “slate mailer,” according to the most recent FEC files.
Rep. Waters’s campaign debt to her daughter was first noted in April 2017 by the Washington Free Beacon. The campaign had yet to report any payments on the debt at that time. Since then, the campaign has reported nine payments to Karen Waters ranging from $3,000-$7,000, according to FEC files reviewed by TheDCNF. This year, Muslim leaders declared Thursday to be the start of the holy month, when most Muslims abide by Ramadan’s fasting tradition: abstaining from eating, drinking, smoking, having sex, and other physical needs each day, starting from before the break of dawn until sunset.
The various calls for jihadist groups to halt their campaign of terror has fallen on deaf ears, particularly in Afghanistan, home to the majority of attacks.

Friday has been the deadliest day so far with six attacks — mainly attributed to the Taliban — that killed 26 and wounded 69 others.
Despite the devastating blow the U.S.-led coalition and local forces have dealt the Islamic State’s (ISIS/ISIL) now former caliphate in Iraq and Syria, the terrorist group remains a menace.
ISIS has killed two people and injured one other in Iraq since Ramadan began.
A homemade bomb leftover by the jihadist group in Syria has also killed two people in the last four days.
Outside the group’s former caliphate, ISIS claimed responsibility for killing three and injuring three others at a church in Russia’s Muslim-majority Chechnya region.
Last year’s Ramadan marked the bloodiest holy month for Muslims in recent history, with 3,343 casualties (1,639 deaths, 1,704 injuries), according to a Breitbart News tally.

Dramatic body-cam footage shows gun battle at Trump’s Doral hotel
Miami-Dade police on Monday released body-camera footage showing the dramatic firefight with an intruder at the Trump National Doral hotel.
The footage shows a Miami-Dade police officer firing his sidearm as shot after shot rings out in front of the opulent Doral hotel lobby. The officer enters the lobby, and eventually makes his way up the stairs, where gunman Jonathan Oddi was arrested with gunshot wounds to the legs.
Oddi survived and was charged with multiple felonies, including first-degree attempted murder of law-enforcement officers. On Monday, he made his first appearance in Miami-Dade criminal court and was ordered held without bond.
Police say Oddi, early Friday morning, scaled a fence at the hotel owned by President Donald Trump’s company, stealing an American flag and walking into the main lobby. He “proceeded to drape the flag on the reception desk,” according to an arrest report, before threatening an unarmed security guard.
According to law enforcement, Oddi was screaming “anti-Trump rhetoric” — and also railed against former President Barack Obama, and rapper P. Diddy. According to police, Oddi fired in the air, then shot at Doral and Miami-Dade police officers as they rushed to the lobby. Oddi ran upstairs but was shot in the legs.

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer announced the audit after it emerged that a former official at BAMF’s Bremen branch allegedly accepted cash bribes in exchange for granting asylum to at least 1,200 refugees who did not meet the necessary criteria. The Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs released new emails on Monday night that allegedly show that Obama administration officials coordinated with each other to help CNN run a damaging story on President-elect Donald Trump based on salacious and unverified information contained in a politically motivated dossier financed by Trump’s political enemies.
The emails, obtained by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), show that the Obama-era officials used coded language to refer to the Steele dossier. The following timeline of events and communications were in the committee’s letter:
1. January 6, 2017, 9:44 a.m. FBI Chief of Staff Jim sent an email to unspecified recipients stating, “the director is coming into HQ briefly now for an update from the sensitive matter team.”
2. January 6, 2017, afternoon. Director Comey met with President-elect Trump.
3. January 7, 2017. Director Comey memorialized his discussion with President-elect Trump via an email to senior FBI leadership. Director Comey wrote, “I said there was something that Clapper wanted me to speak to PE [President Elect] about alone or in a very small group.” Director Comey wrote, “I then executed the sessions exactly as I had planned,” and “I said media like CNN had them and were looking for a news hook.”
4. January 8, 2017, 12:08 p.m. Then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe sent an email to senior FBI leadership with the subject line “Flood is coming.” Mr. McCabe wrote, “CNN is close to going forward with the sensitive story… The trigger for them [CNN] is they know the material was discussed in the brief and presented in an attachment.”
5. January 8, 2017, 12:55 p.m. Mr. McCabe emailed then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and then-Principal Deputy Attorney General Matthew Axelrod with the subject line “News.” Mr. McCabe wrote, “Just an FYI, and as expected, it seems CNN is close to running a story about the sensitive reporting.”
Two days later on January 10, 2017, CNN ran the story about the unverified and salacious allegations made in the anti-Trump dossier with BuzzFeed publishing the dossier within a couple hours of CNN’s report. The Federalist’s Sean Davis writes:

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The woman who was killed in a Saturday morning officer-involved shooting in Johns Creek has been identified.
Shukri Ali Said, 36, was killed by police, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, when she refused to relinquish a knife she was allegedly brandishing, even after being Tased.
Johns Creek dispatchers said they received reports of a “demented person” with a knife shortly after 7 a.m. Capt. Chirs Byers said the report came from a home in the 300 block of Winherst Lane.
While en route to that address, officers encountered Said a short distance away, near the intersection of Abbot’s Bridge and Sweet Creek roads.

The group, which was given $25,000 by left-wing billionaire George Soros’s Open Society Foundations in 2014, demanded answers from the FOI, which operates under the Swedish Ministry of Defence, as to why they were included in a policy paper alongside violent far-left groups like Antifa, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.
