  1. Houthis Reportedly Launch Eight Ballistic Missiles Toward Saudi Arabia (sputniknews, Apr 28, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201804281063987697-houthis-saudi-arabia-missiles/

“The militia group has stepped up its missile attacks into Saudi Arabia following the death of two of its leaders as a result of a Saudi-led coalition airstrike.

The Yemeni militia group’s missiles targeted “economic and vital targets” in the southern Saudi province of Jizan on Saturday, Houthi-run news agency Saba has reported.

The Saudi defense ministry confirmed that four missiles bound for Jizan had been intercepted, according to Saudi Arabiya TV.

Earlier Saturday, Saudi state media reported that a Saudi-led coalition airstrike in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa on Friday had killed over 50 Houthi militia, including two of the group’s leaders. That attack was reported to have hit the building of the interior ministry.

Militia are believed to have been meeting to discuss the death of Saleh al-Samad, the head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council and one of the leaders of the Houthi movement, who had been killed in a separate coalition airstrike.

Saudi Arabia and a coalition of mostly Gulf states have been involved in a military operation in Yemen since March 2015. The operation is aimed at restoring the government of Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, who was toppled in a series of uprisings in 2014 and 2015 by the Houthi rebels and fled to Riyadh. The coalition has suffered a series of setbacks in recent months, with Houthis reportedly launching ballistic missiles and drones into Saudi Arabia and attacking coalition warships.

The war in Yemen has led to thousands of deaths, displaced over three million people, and pushed the country to the verge of famine.”

  2. Al-Shabaab Suicide Bomber Kills 6 People, Including Mil Officials in Somalia (sputniknews, Apr 28, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/africa/201804281063988585-al-shabaab-somali-suicide-bomb/

“The attack took place in the north-central Somalian city of Galkayo. Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group operating in the region, has claimed responsibility.

According to Garowe Online, a local news agency, the bomber blew himself up in a crowded restaurant after approaching a group of military officials. The media outlet has identified the two slain military authorities as Col. Abdihukun Abdullahi Mohamud (also known as Horreye), and Abdiqani Ahmed Khaire.

Garowe Online reports that the blast took lives of at least six people and injured eight others.

However, Reuters, citing local police officer Abdirahman Haji, said the attack was conducted in a military camp. According to the police, as quoted by the agency, the death toll might rise…”

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/us-counterterror-fight-africa-turns-local-police-54799436

“Under the watchful eyes of U.S. authorities, an elite group of local police officers in Niger’s capital slipped into a home, rescued a “hostage,” detained an “extremist” and pretended to kill another.

The police training in one of Africa’s most remote, impoverished countries is crucial as extremists linked to the Islamic State group and al-Qaida carry out increasingly bold attacks in West Africa’s vast Sahel region. In October, four U.S. soldiers and five Nigeriens were killed in an ambush claimed by Islamic State group-linked fighters in rural Niger.

Amid questions over the role of the U.S. military in this part of the world, there is a renewed focus on training local law enforcement officers in the hopes that extremism can be better countered at the community level and along borders. The challenges are great in Niger, where residents of its vast, largely ungoverned spaces say they are losing confidence in authorities…”

  4. Yemeni forces: Senior Islamic State leader killed in south (abcnews, Apr 28, 2018)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/yemeni-forces-senior-islamic-state-leader-killed-south-54799434

“Yemeni security forces say they have raided a militant hideout in Yemen’s south, killing a top Islamic State group leader.

The media office of Aden’s security department said Saturday’s raid killed Saleh Naser Fadl al-Bakhshi and led to the arrest of three other IS members.

The office said in a statement that al-Bakhshi refused to surrender and opened fire on anti-terrorism forces, killing one and wounding two others. The three IS members surrendered after al-Bakhshi’s death, according to the statement.

Yemen was plunged into civil war more than three years ago. Al-Qaida and an Islamic State group affiliate have exploited the chaos to expand their presence.

Aden is the seat of Yemen’s internationally recognized government after the capital, Sanaa, was seized by Shiite rebels known as Houthis in 2014.”

  5. Saudi media: Airstrike kills Houthi leaders in Yemen capital (abcnews, Apr 28, 2018)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/saudi-media-airstrike-kills-houthi-leaders-yemen-capital-54797774

“A Saudi-led airstrike targeting a high-level meeting of Shiite rebels in Yemen’s capital killed two of the group’s leaders and dozens of their militiamen, the kingdom’s state media reported early Saturday. The Shiite rebels known as Houthis did not immediately acknowledge the strike.

Saudi state-run television offered the report, saying the strike Friday killed more than 50 militiamen, including the two leaders. It did not elaborate.

That dispatch followed a far more detailed report on the strike by Al-Arabiya, a Dubai-based satellite news network now believed to be majority-owned by Saudi Arabia…”

  6. Corbyn is hit by feminist backlash: 300 women are set to quit Labour over decision to allow transgender candidates on all-female shortlists (dailymaill, Apr 28, 2018)
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5666983/Three-women-set-quit-Labour-party-decision-allow-transgender.html

“Hundreds of female Labour members are to quit the party over a decision to allow transgender candidates to be included on all-women shortlists.

In a new blow for Jeremy Corbyn, more than 300 activists will resign on May Day, warning they ‘cannot continue to be in a party that takes women for granted’.

The group opposes a party rule change over all-women shortlists, which are used to select candidates from parliamentary elections down to local government.

It would guarantee candidates the right to self-identify as female without the need for a medical test or other certification showing that they had biologically changed sex.

Opening shortlists to all self-defining women has angered some activists, who say only those born female or who have legally changed gender should be allowed. They warn a man could get on a shortlist simply by claiming to be a woman…”

TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) — About 20 volunteer U.S. lawyers gave legal workshops Friday just across the border in Mexico to Central American asylum seekers who traveled in a “caravan” that has been harshly criticized by President Donald Trump.

Journalists were not allowed inside the sessions for about 300 migrants that took place at a civic group’s office, at Tijuana’s largest migrant shelter and at an art gallery in a building that once housed a cross-border tunnel used to smuggle drugs into San Diego.

The lawyers gave information about the U.S. asylum process while the children of the mostly female migrants played. The migrants were warned they could face long periods of separation from their children and lengthy detention if they are allowed to stay in the U.S.

The migrants plan to head to the border on Sunday, setting up a showdown with the Trump administration – which has warned that some could face detention, prosecution and deportation. Most Central American migrants seeking asylum in the U.S. cite the threat of gang violence in their homelands.

  8. Romaine lettuce outbreak update: 98 people sick in 22 states

    By MIKE STOBBE
    AP Medical Writer

NEW YORK (AP) — A nasty strain of bacteria that can cause severe illness is what’s driving a food poisoning outbreak linked to romaine lettuce, health officials said Friday.

The government now has reports of 98 people who got sick in 22 states. Forty-six people have been hospitalized, including 10 with kidney failure, which is an unusually high number of hospitalizations.

The outbreak has been blamed on E. coli bacteria in romaine lettuce grown in Yuma, Arizona. While most E. coli bacteria are not harmful, some produce toxins that can cause severe illness.

The growing season in Yuma is pretty much over, but it’s possible some illnesses will still occur, said Matthew Wise of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The most recent illness began on April 20.

Pointed at the large number of GOP members on baseball team who are leaving Congress

Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks suggested in a radio interview that Republicans are retiring en masse because of assassination fears.

Brooks was speaking on “The Dale Jackson Show” about the first Republican practice the Congressional Baseball Game after last year’s shooting that left Majority Whip Steve Scalise severely injured.

“We have multiple rings of security, plainclothes, uniform, Capitol Police, other police,” he said. “There was a medical vehicle nearby just in case there was a copycat.”

    • With their quiet coup failing massive riots trying to make the nation ungovernable combined with massive illegal immigration and a campaign of assassination of Republican leaders and conservative news and opinion people is the next step in what could be called “classical” asymmetric war. The left almost had the US under their total control and are now seeing their control slipping away with the very real possibility of some if not many of their top tier agents in the Deep State going to jail for their crimes. The left knows that their only chance to regain control of the US is a violent coup/asymmetric war to bring about regime change and replace the Constitution that protects individual rights with one that “gives” group rights with special rights for different groups.

  10. Russian from Trump Tower meeting: ‘I am a lawyer, and I am an informant’

Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who met with Donald Trump Jr. and others at Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential race, appears to have greater ties to the Russian government than she previously admitted.

The New York Times reports that Veselnitskaya in at least one instance worked for Russia’s chief legal office against the U.S. Justice Department in a fraud case targeting a top Russian firm with government connections.

And in an interview set to be broadcast Friday on “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” and on MSNBC’s “On Assignment with Richard Engel,” Veselnitskaya calls herself an “informant” for the Russian government, an admission that goes further than her previous claims of just being a private attorney.

NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, whose business dealings are being investigated by the FBI, and the lawyer’s father-in-law have lent $26 million in recent years to a taxi mogul who is shifting into the legalized marijuana industry, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

Semyon “Sam” Shtayner, a longtime business associate of Michael Cohen’s father-in-law, created Nevada-based Cannaboss LLC the day before the 2016 election. 12. ‘Russian Roulette’: Favorite game of the West
By Alexander Maistrovoy April 28, 2018

While the West is busy hunting “Russian witches,” its sworn enemies devour it alive from within.

On day in 1986, Georges Besse, the manager of the state uranium-enrichment company Eurodif, arrived at his office as usual. When he got out of his car, he was shot at point-blank range by unknown people on a motorcycle. Initially, the authorities accused the radical-left group Action Directe, but very soon the French intelligence service found an Iranian connection.

The Iranians, who owned shares of Eurodif, demanded Paris pay them dividends that were frozen after the Islamic revolution. The murder of Besse was a blatant menace – and it worked. France not only failed to expel Iranian diplomats, but paid Tehran more than $1.6 billion in 1991.

The politics of the West is determined by the dominant discourse. That is why the murder of Besse remained unnoticed and unpunished, but the case of Sergei Skripal (still doubtful in itself) has led to mass hysteria.

    https://libertyunyielding.com/2018/04/28/russian-roulette-favorite-game-west/

    • I don’t agree with all he says about Russia but his info about the Islamic threat if very good.

He is right that Putin doesn’t have the ability to destroy the west, but he can work with others who do have some of the things needed to destroy us. I don’t think he wants to destroy us (at least not right now) because he doesn’t have the assets to take over if we were destroyed. He does want us weakened so that Russia is once again equal to the US in power.

He also wants to weaken China and if I were Xi I would be watching my back and not counting on any help from Russia if China and the US get into a stare down or a small or large shooting war.

      • My Russian friends are astonished. Putin’s made himself, that is RUSSIA, seem formidable again!
Still the pint-sized, hungry street-kid working the meanest streets. A country running on fumes, here’s a powerful personality standing as _Russia_.

Insider baseball in the West is projecting a Cold War, superpower image onto a husk. Putin’s playing it for what it’s worth. (Foolish to poke a bear, even one that’s sickly.)

He looks like a statesman compared to the clowns ruining Europe. Kremlin media lets the whole world watch the crash and burn in living color. With substantive content from people like Nigel Farage, Marine Le Pen, Victor Orban, and Rand Paul.

The Turk is a dangerous dog, an unstable weapon that’s getting harder to handle. RT has been cosseting him, but the Turkish diaspora is becoming more organized and leveraged. If the West is anti-Russia, the Turk is even more anti-West.

The Twisted Ragheads might end up suicide bombing the Middle East. Very tricky juggling, Putin’s poised to duck-&-cover. I don’t like it, but there it is.

All Putin can give to China is political gravitas. But that’s essential to this rogue elephant. Russia’s a distraction for the West; odds are China’s operating to maximize the perception of threat. Her agents are everywhere.

Uncle Vlad’s more crafty than Uncle Joe. He’d be a more skilled co-belligerent against the resurgent Horde. Christian Russia – a stretch – would be an ally.

  15. ISIS servers seized in Canada as countries launch coordinated takedown of propaganda network

Internet servers linked to the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) have been seized in Canada as part of a multinational takedown of the terrorist group’s propaganda network, Europol said Friday.

Canada joined with the European Union and United States in the coordinated police action that targeted the ISIS mouthpiece Amaq, Europol said in a statement.

The ISIS-branded al-Bayan radio and Nashir News were also targets.

The raids took place Wednesday and Thursday, Europol said, adding the operation had resulted in “the seizure of IS servers” in the Netherlands, Canada and U.S.

“With this groundbreaking operation we have punched a big hole in the capability of IS to spread propaganda online and radicalize young people in Europe,” said Europol executive director Rob Wainwright.

No arrests were made in Canada.

The RCMP and Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale’s office responded to questions about Canada’s role in the investigation with a statement that contained no information about the case.

“As this relates to an ongoing law enforcement operation, it would be inappropriate for me to comment further,” an RCMP spokesperson said.

Since arising in Syria and Iraq in 2014, ISIS has made heavy use of online propaganda, producing slick videos and graphics to spread its message of violence and incite terrorist attacks.

The main ISIS propaganda outlet, Amaq distributes the terrorist group’s claims of responsibility for attacks as well as many of its threats and calls to violence.

European police struck Amaq’s mobile application and web infrastructure in August 2016, but the group responded by building “a more complex and secure infrastructure to prevent further disruption,” Europol said.

The Spanish Guardia Civil led a second strike in June 2017, seizing servers that identified “radicalized individuals” in more than 100 countries.

ISIS has now lost much of the territory it once held in Iraq and Syria and the international police push was aimed at shrinking its online presence as well.

“For too long the Internet has been open to terrorists and those who seek to do us harm,” said Julian King, a commissioner in the European Commission. “Those days are coming to an end.”

Canadian extremists have long played a role in terrorist propaganda.

In 2010, Said Namouh, a Quebec-based member of the Al Qaeda propaganda outfit the Global Islamic Media Front was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Canadians are also believed to have joined the ISIS propaganda network, Andrew Ellis, a former senior Canadian Security Intelligence Service official, said in a 2016 speech in Toronto.

“I would argue that would be equally as dangerous, maybe more, than someone who is joining the military wing. A lot of these young Western adherents to Daesh are put on the frontlines and die very quickly. Someone who is working in the propaganda wing can hurt us over and over and over again,” he said, using another name for ISIS.

This last Monday, the woman, who is of Algerian origin, was sentenced by a judge of the Nanterre Criminal Court to pay a 5,700 euros fine to the couple and a gay rights foundation.

The young lady alleges that she left the queue for a short amount of time to grab another product when the young couple took her place in line, which caused her outburst, in which she proclaimed, “You gays, you shouldn’t be allowed to live […] in Algeria we’d slit your throats”.

She says that her anger was a result of tiredness caused by her pregnancy. When asked about her homophobic remarks, she simply answered: “ Yes, I’m homophobic, so what?”

  27. You just wanted to find out if you were Portuguese or Spanish, but instead you found out you were related to a mass murderer.

This is a reality in a world where the alleged Golden State Killer, now known as Joseph James DeAngelo, was arrested after DNA found at one of the killer’s crime scenes was checked against genetic profiles from genealogical websites that collect DNA samples.

Popular genetic testing companies 23andMe and Ancestry.com are holding on to more than information about your family tree, which raises privacy conerns. Experts confirm DNA in these databases can be accessed by law enforcement and third party companies under certain circumstances, revealing intimate information about user’s medical history and biological relationships.

“People don’t realize that unlike most medical tests where you find out information, it isn’t just about you,” said Arthur Caplan, director of the Division of Medical Ethics at New York University’s School of Medicine.

  28. reuters – New Secretary of State Pompeo starts Mideast tour in Riyadh

RIYADH (Reuters) – New U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday on the first stop of his hastily-arranged visit to the Middle East as decisions on the Iran nuclear deal and a review of the U.S. role in Syria loom large.

A State Department official said the visit to Riyadh, Jerusalem and Amman just two days after Pompeo was sworn-in as America’s top diplomat was also aimed at forging closer ties with important U.S allies in the Middle East.

Pompeo said on Friday he would discuss the future of the 2015 Iran deal in his talks.

U.S. President Donald Trump has called the nuclear agreement the “worst deal ever” and threatened to reimpose sanctions against Iran unless European allies Britain, France and Germany agree to fix it. Resuming sanctions would likely kill the deal.

Russia, China, Germany, Britain and France, which all struck the accord with Iran and the United States, see the deal as the best way to stop Iran from developing a nuclear bomb.

Speaking after a NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels on Friday, Pompeo said Trump had not taken a decision on whether to abandon the deal but was not likely to stick to it without substantial changes.

“There’s been no decision, so the team is working and I am sure we will have lots of conversations to deliver what the president has made clear,” Pompeo told a news conference.

Earlier this week French President Emmanuel Macron called on the United States not to abandon the deal, although later he acknowledged he thought Trump would pull out, based on his long opposition to it.

The Trump administration is also currently reviewing the U.S.’s role in fighting Islamic State in Syria’s seven-year conflict. Trump has also called on Gulf countries to provide funding and troops to stabilize areas once controlled by the group in Syria.

Pompeo was one of the first Trump administration officials to visit Saudi Arabia early in his tenure as CIA director.

In Riyadh, Pompeo was greeted on the tarmac by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir. He is expected to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and King Salman during the visit.

  29. Europe: Safeguard Values or Disappear

“We have to decide if our ethnicity, if our white race, if our society continues to exist — or if it will be wiped out.” This observation was recently made by Attilio Fontana, a politician with the anti-immigrant Northern League, who is running to govern the Italy’s northern region of Lombardy. Fontana’s remarks sparked quite a political storm. He may not have chosen the most delicate words, but he was right in pointing out the potential suicide of Europe. Italy’s problem, in fact, is not the word “race”, but the empty cradles and the crowded boats which have brought in 500,000 African migrants in a relatively short time

In Milan, Italy’s financial district and second-biggest city, there are more dogs than newborns. The city has literally “lost” half its births in a mere ten years. From 2006 to 2016, the number of children born in Milan has declined from 17,000 a year to fewer than 10,000. By comparison, in 1880 Milan had a population of 350,000, and that year, 10,000 children were born. Today, Milan is inhabited by 1,362,000 people with fewer than 10,000 new births. So, relatively, 138 years ago Milan had proportionately four times as many children as today. That is how Europe’s indigenous population will die out.

  30. U.S. appeals court allows Texas to implement voter ID law

AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) – A U.S. appeals court on Friday allowed Texas to implement a law requiring photo identification at the ballot box, reversing a lower court decision that blocked the measure on the grounds it could be discriminatory against racial minorities.

In a 2-1 decision, a panel from the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the law, which was designed as a fix for previous voter ID legislation struck down for being discriminatory

  32. Austrian Police Raid Multiple Identitarian Activists’ Homes, Including Martin Sellner’s (breitbart, Apr 28, 2018)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/04/28/austrian-police-raid-multiple-identitarian-members-homes-including-martin-sellner/

“Austrian police have raided ten homes and offices of identitarian activists, including Generation Identity co-leaders Martin Sellner and Patrick Lenart.

The authorities seized Sellner’s electronic devices including his phone and computers, with a Graz prosecutor looking to prosecute the activists as a criminal organisation.

The announcement of the raids came from Martin Sellner himself, who took to Twitter saying that the police had raided his apartment in Vienna and confiscated all of his electronic devices.

According to Sellner, who spoke with Breitbart London following the raids, the nationwide police operation came at the behest of the Graz prosecutor, who has been building a case against the identitarian movement following a protest in 2016 in which they hung a banner reading “Islamisation kills” on the roof of the Green Party’s Graz headquarters.

Sellner claimed that the prosecutor was looking to use evidence found in the raid to have his identitarian movement banned as a criminal organisation under the Austrian equivalent of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, article 278 of the Austrian penal code, as well as article 283 which covers “incitement to hostile action” against religious and ethnic groups…”

  33. VERY 1984: ‘Proudly FASCIST’ NYC Councilman BRAGS about ‘chasing NRA members underground’, gets DECIMATED

Reading through these tweets from NYC Councilman Justin Brannan, one has to wonder if he is at all familiar with how similar his actions are to a certain group of fascists whose favorite color of shirt to wear was brown.

And that he’s bragging about tormenting a group of people he disagrees with politically so badly that they have to hide is absolutely terrifying.
