  1. Elderly dog helps save girl lost in Australian bush

“Australian police have praised a dog for remaining with a three-year-old girl as she spent a night lost in bushland.

The girl, Aurora, had been the subject of a large search after she wandered away from her home in Queensland.

She was followed by her family’s 17-year-old cattle dog, Max, who is partially deaf and blind.

The dog stayed with the girl for 16 hours before relatives found them on a hillside on Saturday morning.”

That’s one mutt who gets steak for the rest of his life.

    • @NorseRadish:

“…17-year-old cattle dog, Max, who is partially deaf and blind….”

which goes to show that the sense of smell can be the most important one of the 5… 🙂

      • Last to go … from all accounts (at end of life).

The human olfactory bulb is capable of distinguishing more different odors than the optical retina is able to detect specific colors.

    • When I was a toddler we were living in the country and had a dog, the dog knew I wasn’t allowed near the road and if i tried to get there he would get in front of me to stop me. If necessary he would knock me down put his front paws on my chest and then lick me to try and stop me crying.

My parents said it was a hoot to watch he doing that, they always laughed.

      • Since the blatant racism from “Black Lives Matter”, the torturers of White South African Farmers and – yes – even the race-baiting of Obame I have gone quite some distance on the way to look at black people differently (not proud of it ), but this man has brought me back from that direction quite some considerable distance !

        • The left has been trying to start a race war for decades, it looks like they are succeeding. Their open borders tactics in all Western nations are flooding those nations with people from the Third World. Some of them want to assimilate into the base cultures of their new homes but a lot of them want to destroy the culture of their new homes and turn them into copies of the hell holes they left. combine this with the push for a White Genocide based on inherited guilt and you will create a climate where a race war is almost a certainty. Some blacks like Candace Owens are pushing back against the racism being pushed by the left but they are few and most end up joining the crowd because of threats.

  2. Queen’s artist paints last Canadian WWII ‘Dam Buster’ pilot

All 133 men who participated in the legendary “Dam Busters” air-raid on Germany in 1943 will be commemorated with a portrait exhibit in London.

Only two of those men – Canadian Fred Sutherland and Briton George “Johnny” Johnson – are still alive.

British artist Dan Llywelyn Hall, 37, who became the youngest person to paint a portrait of the Queen in 2013, was commissioned for the exhibit.

The exhibit will mark the 75th anniversary of the daring air raid.

On 16-17 May 1943, Royal Air Force No 617 Squadron dropped a drum-shaped bomb onto Germany’s Ruhr valley, breaching regional dams that helped power the Nazi war industry.

The mission was challenging – the bomb would have to be dropped at a very low altitude at exactly the right time and location in order to get past the dams’ defences.

The air raid would go down in history as one of the most daring of the war, and became immortalised in the 1955 film The Dam Busters, which in turn inspired the Death Star attack sequence in Star Wars: A New Hope.

Mr Sutherland flew with Australian Pilot Officer Les Knight, who was awarded the Distinguished Service Order for his bravery before being killed during another operation that September.

“We were all afraid of the hill. We had to drop the bomb at the right distance and the right height, and then to make it (Pilot Officer Les Knight) had to push the throttles right through the gate, which is not supposed to be done,” Mr Sutherland said in a press release for the exhibit.

“I didn’t see anything when the bomb went off because I was in the nose, but I heard the rear gunner saying ‘it’s gone, it’s gone’.”

Damage to the dams caused massive flooding, destroyed hydroelectric power stations and several factories and mines. Of the 133 men involved in the mission, 53 were killed.

Some 1600 civilians also drowned, many of them Soviet-forced labourers.

After the raid, about half of the squadron was decorated at Buckingham palace – an omission that left Pilot Officer Les Knight feeling uneasy, Sutherland recalls.

“He felt badly that half the crew got decorated, the other half didn’t. He said you know I’m wearing the (Distinguished Service Order) for all you guys, you all did something for it”, he says in the release.

Months later, Mr Sutherland flew again with Knight, this time to attack the Dortmund-Ems Canal. The plane crashed and Knight was killed.

Mr Sutherland managed to escape unharmed, and hid in Nazi-occupied Holland for a month before he was smuggled into Paris. From there, he escaped on foot through the Spanish Pyranees to freedom.

On Thursday, Mr Sutherland revealed his own portrait in Alberta, Canada. About a third of the 617 Squadron was Canadian.

The exhibit of all 133 portraits will premier at International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln, UK on 13 May.

    • The bursting of the 3 dams grounded barges in all of the European canals and shortened the war by slowing the rate at which Germany made weapons.

      • A perfect illustration, Richard. I cannot thank you enough.

Flying barely tested armaments, these brave lads risked all and won large.

We owe so much to so few…

        • Remember what Churchill said, “Second best today”. He knew that Britain couldn’t wait to develop all of the technology to be the very best before it was put into service so it was “Second Best Today”. This and a lot of guts won the war, if the right leader arises in Britain they will return to the WWII (and earlier) people who stood alone against evil with little hope fo winning. They fought because it was the right thing to do and they won. All true Brits should remember their bravery and sacrifice and be ashamed that they aren’t living up to the legacy that is their birth right.

  3. French, German leaders will bring Trump the same message: Save the Iran nuclear deal

President Trump faces a European double bill this week as a crucial deadline looms for a decision on whether to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.

French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, arriving back to back, will bring a unified message: Save the deal.

“I don’t have any Plan B for nuclear [protections] against Iran,” Macron said Sunday on Fox News. “Let’s preserve the framework because it is better than a sort of North Korea-type situation.”

Iran’s foreign minister made the point more dramatically, warning that if Trump quits the 2015 accord, Tehran may respond by relaunching and intensifying its now-blocked nuclear program.

Of course they will. Who else is first in line for a terrorist nuclear attack?

Certainly not Israel (with its Samson Option intact).

Ergo, America (i.e., the Great Satan) will be one of the very first to receive a terrorist nuclear hit. I don’t much like that idea one bit and, instead, I’d rather finance whatever it takes to denuclearize Pakistan (and North Korea) to avoid this smidgen of nuclear Armageddon, thank-you-very-much.

Iran is taking the offensive in a war of words as it warns against making deals with the U.S.

While speaking with reporters in New York on Saturday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the U.S. is “sending a dangerous message.”

His remarks echo comments made by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, where he warned the United States against pulling out of the Iran Nuclear Deal.

President Trump has repeatedly criticized the accord, calling it “the worst deal ever.”

Iran’s behavior, combined with the terms of the deal, has prompted President Trump to threaten to pull out of the deal altogether.

      • Either way the Iranians have the money and have already spent it without having to stop their work on building nuclear weapons. Hell they already have them and are buying time to get things set up so they have an assembly line producing them. And don’t forget the North Korean storage facility in Syria, wanna bet there isn’t one in Iran?

WASHINGTON — He’s been photographed kite-surfing with Richard Branson off Necker Island, relaxing on David Geffen’s yacht in French Polynesia with Bruce Springsteen and Oprah Winfrey, river-rafting with his family in Bali and posing with a celebrity chef in Tuscany.

To those who have paid only casual attention to former President Barack Obama’s foreign travels since he left the White House in January 2017, it can seem as if Mr. Obama has been on an extended vacation of the kind only the very rich can afford.

But the former president has also met quietly with groups of young people in New Zealand, Brazil, Indonesia and Singapore, as well as paying calls on foreign leaders, including Xi Jinping of China, Emmanuel Macron of France, Justin Trudeau of Canada and Malcolm Turnbull of Australia.

Prague criminal police are looking for a group of seven men, apparently foreigners, who attacked a waiter on Saturday night at a restaurant garden in Vladislavova Street. The man ended up in a very serious condition on the intensive care unit and underwent a head surgery. For severe bodily harm and rioting, offenders may face up to ten years in prison if convicted.

The site published photos of all seven suspects and a video of the assault that took place at the square at the Quadrio shopping center. You can find footage at the end of the article.

The waiter came into conflict with the wanted men after he warned them that they could not consume the alcohol in the garden. “A group of seven men attacked the restaurant staff, one waiter landed on the ground, they kicked him and kicked him in. When the injured man was lying on the ground, the suspects fled to tram number 14 and headed for Charles Square, described the situation police spokesman.

Criminal police, based on previous investigations, assume that the suspects are foreigners who could live in a hotel, pension or other type of accommodation in Prague or the surrounding area. “That is why we ask the receptionist and all other witnesses, if they can see or know where they might be, to contact the emergency line 158,” said the spokesman.

  8. Mexico murder rate soars with 7,667 killed in 3 months

Mexico City (AFP) – Some 7,667 people were killed in Mexico in the first quarter of 2018, up 20 percent on the same period last year, making it the most violent year in two decades, government figures showed Sunday.

In 2017, the figure stood at 6,406 violent deaths, according to the Mexican security services.

The worst month was March, when 2,729 people were killed, most of them shot dead. January’s figure stood at 2,549 murders, with another 2,389 in February.

The bloodshed follows a proliferation of gangs involved in drug trafficking, as well as stealing fuel, kidnappings, extortion and other criminal activities.

In 2017, a total of 25,339 people were killed in Mexico, the highest number since monitoring began 10 years earlier.

The violence comes as Mexico gears up for a July 1 ballot that will include presidential elections as well as a vote for the two branches of Congress and a number of local seats.

In the latest one, the victim was approached by a stranger and choked on the street, CBS2’s Natalie Duddridge reported Sunday night.

Electronic gadgets that can be used to steal cars in seconds are being sold online for as little as £100.

Available on Amazon and eBay, the hacking devices allow thieves to reprogramme a blank key fob so it can start a car’s ignition.

The Daily Mail deployed the tools to ‘steal’ a test car in two minutes after getting into the vehicle with a lock pick, which was also on sale online.

A crime commissioner accused ‘irresponsible’ web retailers of helping criminals, saying the devices should be taken off sale.

Police chiefs say car theft, which has almost doubled in some areas, has become ‘child’s play’. More than 86,000 cars were stolen in 2016 – 30 per cent more than in 2013. The Mail’s investigation found that:

TOKYO (AP) — Robots that can weld, lift and bolt are being developed to help bridge labor shortages at Japanese construction sites, though their use will be limited to night shifts when no human workers will be nearby due to safety and regulatory concerns.

Major Japanese construction company Shimizu Corp. showed off several robots Monday, including one already in use at construction sites that picked up a big pile of boards and took them into an elevator.

The Robo-Welder and Robo-Buddy, with twisting and turning mechanical arms, will be deployed at construction sites later this year, the company said.

GETTING a tattoo is a big deal for some – but the current generation of young people are looking to push the boundaries of body modification in ways barely imaginable.

Trepanning, the act of drilling a hole into your skull and allowing it to heal over, is one trend starting to gain more traction on the underground body mod scene.

Body mod expert and the man responsible for promoting the “Bagelhead” movement, Ryoichi Keroppy Maeda, gave Daily Star Online his take on the strange phenomenon.

The process dates back more than 8,000 years, but could still be a bridge too far for extreme modding, he said.

Keroppy said: “Trepanation is simply the first step. I think new modification of the brain of the skull is coming in the future.

“Humans started trepanning millennia ago. Why would they do this? I’ve been told it expands your mind. Elevating your consciousness.

  14. ‘Cut off hands’: Mexican presidential candidate’s plan to deter thieves

Independent presidential candidate Jaime Rodriguez and his wife Adeline Davalos. in Mexico City

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Thieves should have their hands chopped off, a Mexican presidential candidate said in a televised debate on Sunday, provoking disbelief from a moderator and setting off a storm of comments and jokes on Twitter.

Jaime Rodriguez, an independent known as “El Bronco,” who is trailing in opinion polls, made the proposal during a discussion about corruption in the first televised debate among the five presidential candidates ahead of the July 1 election.

“We have to cut off the hands of those who rob. It’s that simple,” said the 59-year-old, adding that he would ask Congress to pass a law backing his idea.

Taken aback, the moderator Denise Maerker twice asked him if he was speaking literally, before checking again that he really meant what he had said.

“That’s right. That’s right,” he replied.

But it’s 2018, so environmentalists may also complain how Earth Day is “too white” or a rehashing of apocalyptic predictions of ecological decay making the rounds for decades.

What you probably won’t hear about are some of the actual great environmental threats Americans face or the unintended consequences of policies meant to go “green.” In light of this, The Daily Caller News Foundation put together a short list of things Americans aren’t likely to hear from most of the media on Earth Day.

The army launched a wide operation in February to crush jihadists who have waged a years-long insurgency that has killed hundreds of soldiers, police and residents. Air strikes and raids have killed scores of suspected militants since then, the military says, as it imposes curfews and tight movement restrictions around towns in North Sinai.

The military said it was preparing a response to the HRW report. It has distributed food to Sinai residents during the highly-publicised campaign and says it is winning the battle against jihadists. International news outlets are prevented from travelling to North Sinai to report.

Residents said food supplies, medicine and fuel were insufficient and that movement restrictions meant most people were unable to leave the region, HRW reported…”

    • Translation: Various left wing so called human rights groups want Egypt to surrender to the Islamists factions and are using the problem of getting food to the civilians as an excuse to scream for the Egyptian surrender.

  25. Isis news: German Jihadi brides BEG to come home after serving Islamic State in Syria (express, Apr 23, 2018)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/949872/isis-news-german-jihadi-brides-syria-terrorism-returning

“THREE Jihadi brides who abandoned their German homeland to serve brutal Islamic State in Syria are begging to be allowed to return home.

The women identified only as Ayse, 32, Linda, 33, and Nadine, 29, see themselves as victims who were treated badly for their Islamic faith in Germany so decided to travel to the Middle East to forge new lives.

“I was badly treated in Germany because I wore the niqab,” said Linda in an interview with Germany’s Bild newspaper in northern Syria. “That’s why I went to Isis. I wanted to live my faith in peace together with my family.”

A high school graduate from Munich, Linda converted from Christianity to Islam when she was a teenager and married a Turk.

She went on: “My husband and I were attacked on the streets because of our faith. We were afraid our children would be taken from us. A sister then recommended that we go to Islamic State.”

One of her four children was born in the IS capital of Raqqa.

Linda claims not to have known what Islamic State was really about, saying she formed her views from looking at “beautiful videos” of the city.

“On the videos I saw in Germany, the great landscape of Syria was shown. And there was a lot of talk about friendship and family. I thought: Here I will have no more pressure.”

She claims to have known nothing about beheadings, sex slaves and mass executions.

Nadine, radicalised as a teenager, also blames German society for making her leave for Syria, saying; “I had coffee poured over my head because I wore the scarf. I was beaten, my things were destroyed. I just wanted to go away and live alone. If we had been treated better in Germany, 90 percent of women would have certainly renounced the journey to Isis. ”

She said her father read newspaper reports to her of Isis atrocities but claims she told him: “No, that’s not true, because that is not Islam.”

She, too, cared for her four children in Raqqa. When the Islamist massacres occurred in Paris in November 2015 she said her mother told her about them via her WhatsApp. “One of you has perpetrated an attack in France, ” she wrote. But I didn’t want to believe that. Only slowly after that, I understood what really happened here. ”

During the fighting to liberate Raqqa she fled with her husband and her children and was captured by Kurdish forces who still hold her and the others. She added; “This is like a prison. We may not leave the camp. I just want to go back to Germany, even though I can understand that Germans are afraid of returnees. There are also some women living here who I would rather not meet again in Germany. And I hope they won’t be allowed back.”

Ayse is the only one of the trio who admits to having witnessed atrocities being perpetrated.

“They hung the corpses everywhere in the city, left them hanging there like sheep,” she said. “I know the Prophet does not want it to be this way.

“When I come back to Germany with my children, we will need new names and places of residence because we will face persecution from Islamists.””

“German Chancellor Angela Merkel says the country will take in some 10,000 migrants who were selected by the United Nations’ refugee agency.

Merkel said Monday during a meeting with the UN’s High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, those 10,000 refugees were part of a resettlement program that Germany supports in an effort, “to prevent illegal migration and substitute it through legal opportunities.” It was not immediately clear which countries the migrants would come from.

Grandi thanked Germany for tripling its financial support to the UNHCR in the last three years, making Germany the second biggest donor after the United States. According to the German news agency dpa, Germany is now contributing about 387 million euros (473 million dollars) annually to the agency.”

    • Germany: Merkel announces 10,000 new refugee places

Chancellor Angela Merkel announced Germany would take 10,000 refugees within the frameworks of UNHCR, speaking at the joint press conference UN High Commissioner on Refugees Filippo Grandi in Berlin on Monday.

“That’s the way we prefer and that is why we signed the agreement with Turkey, in order to help people on site either to create for them the legal paths to Germany,” said Merkel.

Grandi expressed his hope that these10,000 places provided by Germany “will be followed by other countries in and beyond Europe”.

  27. Dueling Populisms

Populism is seen as both bad and good because people disagree about what it represents and intends. In the present age, there are two different sorts of populism. Both strains originated in classical times and persist today.

In antiquity, one type was known by elite writers of that time to be the “bad” populism. It appealed to the volatile, landless urban “mob,” or what the Athenians dubbed pejoratively the ochlos and the Romans disparagingly called the turba. Their popular unrest was spearheaded by the so-called demagogoi (“leaders of the people”) or, in Roman times, the popular tribunes. These largely urban protest movements focused on the redistribution of property, higher liturgies or taxes on the wealthy, the cancellation of debts, support for greater public employment and entitlements, and sometimes imperialism abroad. Centuries later, the French Revolution and many of the European upheavals of 1848 reflected some of these same ancient tensions. Those modern mobs wanted government-mandated equality of result rather than that of opportunity, and they believed egalitarianism should encompass nearly all facets of life.

2 elementary school students arrested for child porn over nude Snapchats

SLIDELL, La. – Police arrested two Louisiana elementary school students after they allegedly distributed nude photos to classmates using a social media app.

The Bonne Ecole Elementary students, a girl and a boy, were booked on charges of distribution of child pornography, according to the Slidell Police Department.

The female student allegedly used Snapchat to send nude pictures of herself to the male student, who allegedly sent them to other classmates.

“Most kids are not aware, but sending a nude photo of themselves is a crime,” Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal said. “Parents need to have a candid conversation with their kids about the seriousness, and the long term effects, of taking and sending nude photographs.”

Both children have been released into the custody of their parents.

President Trump said Monday he has “instructed” Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen not to allow “large caravans of people” into the U.S. as a group of Central American migrants starts to reach the border, calling the situation a “disgrace.”

“Despite the Democrat inspired laws on Sanctuary Cities and the Border being so bad and one sided, I have instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security not to let these large Caravans of people into our Country. It is a disgrace. We are the only Country in the World so naïve! WALL,” Trump tweeted early Monday.

  32. Assad Accuses US, UK, France of Supporting Militants Since Start of Syrian War (sputniknews, Apr 23, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201804231063836225-assad-us-uk-france-syrian-war/

“The US, the UK and France, which hit Syria, have supported militants since the start of the country’s civil war and failed to help Damascus in the anti-terror fight, Syrian President Bashar Assad said on Monday at a meeting with Senior Assistant to Iran’s Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari.

“Those states and groups, which are their pawns in countries of the region, have been supporting terrorists since the first day of war on Syria. Their recent aggression has not succeeded in stopping the war on terrorism, which will continue until control is recovered over all Syrian lands,” Assad said, as quoted by his presidential press service.

Ansari, in turn, said that this tripartite aggression was triggered by the victories of the Syrian government army and its allies against terrorists, since Western states concerned over the implications of Damascus’ military success…”

  33. Paris Reportedly Favors Islamist-Related NGOs in Syria Over Christian Charity (sputniknews, Apr 23, 2018)
    https://sputniknews.com/analysis/201804231063835974-syria-humanitarian-aid-organizations-priorities/

“Several French humanitarian organizations were invited earlier this week to attend an event held at the Élysée Palace in Paris, though the choices made by the government while handling the invitations baffled members of the European Parliament and NGO representatives alike.

While the French government extended invitations to a number of humanitarian organizations operating in Syria, including the Syria Charity, for some reason the SOS Chrétiens d’Orient – one of the oldest and most influential charity groups providing aid to Christians in the Middle East – wasn’t invited.

MEP Patricia Lalonde, a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, told Sputnik France that she can’t fathom why SOS Chrétiens d’Orient wasn’t invited.

“The fact that Syria Charity was invited also became an unpleasant surprise for me. Everyone knows of the ties Syria Charity maintains with the Muslim Brotherhood; for example, Mohammad Alolaiwy, Syria Charity’s head, is close to the French Muslims (a group formerly known as the Union of Islamic Organisations of France). We need to be careful with these 50 million euros [that France intends to spend on humanitarian aid for Syria], and make sure that this money will be spent on humanitarian purposes instead of political projects,” Lalonde said.

She noted that while the Muslim Brotherhood has done a lot of good in Egypt by helping the poor, it also uses its humanitarian activities to help promote their political agenda.
“In fact, the Syrian opposition had ties with the Muslim Brotherhood from the beginning. They try to oust Bashar Assad in order to install an Islamist government backed by the Muslim Brotherhood. That is very dangerous,” Lalonde said, adding President Macron was possibly misinformed about the nature of some of the aforementioned NGOs.

Benjamin Blanchard, co-founder of SOS Chrétiens d’Orient, also told Sputnik that he regrets that his organization wasn’t invited.

“French authorities are well aware of the fact that we’ve been working in Syria for four years now. Truth be told, I approve of this initiative; I believe that most of the selected charities do a good job and help Syrians, though I cannot say it about all of them,” he said…”

“US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman and Kurdish Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani led the groundbreaking ceremony for the world’s largest US consulate in Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, local media reported Monday.

As of now, the United States rents buildings from local residents and business owners in Erbil’s district of Ainkawa to house its consulate, which opened in February 2007 and was upgraded to a consulate general in 2011, the Rudaw news agency reported.

“The new consulate building demonstrates that the United States will stand with the people of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, as they build a future that will be brighter than the past,” Silliman said at the ceremony, as quoted by the media outlet.

The ambassador also called for strengthening US-Kurdish business relations.

Barzani, in turn, thanked Silliman and congratulated him on the decision to start construction.

“We see it as a significant and valuable step, and hope that it will be finished successfully at its schedule time,” he said…”

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/iraq-boost-military-cooperation-czech-republic-54661554

“The Czech and Iraqi defense ministers have vowed to further boost the military cooperation between their states.

The Czechs previously sold 15 Czech-made L-159 light combat planes to Iraq and sent instructors to train pilots for the planes as part of international efforts to help Iraq fight Islamic State militants.

They have also given the Iraqi army weapons, ammunition, grenades and anti-tank grenade launchers.

Iraqi Defense Minister Erfan al-Hayali says the Czech planes significantly helped in the fight against the Islamic State group. During his three-day visit, Al-Hayali is scheduled to visit a number of Czech army producers. He says concrete deals are to be announced in the near future.

The Czech government is also planning to increase the number of Czech troops in Iraq from 50 to 110.”

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/fearing-ethiopian-dam-egypt-bans-water-intensive-crops-54661740

“Egypt’s parliament has passed a law banning the cultivation of crops that require a large amount of water, amid fears that a massive Ethiopian dam being built upstream could cut into the country’s share of the Nile.

The law passed late Sunday would ban the cultivation of rice, bananas and other crops, with violators facing prison time and a fine of up to $3,000. Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi would need to approve the law.

The Nile provides virtually all the freshwater for Egypt’s 100 million people.

El-Sissi says the country is building desalinization plants on the Red Sea to reduce its dependence on the river as Ethiopia nears completion of the dam.”

“Police in Pakistan have arrested a Muslim man accused of burning a Christian woman to death for refusing his marriage offer, an official said Monday.

Ijaz Shahid, a police official in the eastern Punjab province, said the suspect hurled gasoline at the woman outside her home in the city of Sialkot last week before setting her on fire and fleeing the scene.

The official says Asma Yaqub was taken to a hospital in the city of Lahore, where she died late Sunday. He says Rizwan Gujar confessed to the attack.

Attacks on women over marriage refusals or perceived “dishonor” are not uncommon in Pakistan. Such attacks often involve throwing acid with the intention to disfigure or kill.”
