      As a rule we don’t “do” graves but here’s an exception. More a memorial than a grave this edifice has always attracted huge numbers of visitors. In 1884, on the first anniversary of Marx’s death, between 5 and 6,000 people marched from Tottenham Court Road to the grave only to be turned away by police who, afraid of riots, had closed the cemetery. Marx was initially buried about 100m north but in 1956, in response to the interest in the grave, it was moved to its present location and this impressive memorial erected, funded by the British Communist Party. The original gravestone is incorporated into the plinth. A ceremony is still held here annually on the anniversary of his death, to the minute, at 2.30 pm.

  3. Prominent conservative Twitter users pushed back hard on Wednesday after an overnight purge of their accounts that culled thousands of their followers, as the embattled social media platform faced mounting charges of left-wing bias and suppression of right-wing viewpoints.

    San Francisco-based Twitter said it acted to reduce the flow of fake news and abusive content by eliminating accounts suspected of being Russian-created “bots,” but conservative Twitter users, including podcast host Dan Bongino and Michael Flynn Jr., son of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, said the company is effectively targeting their right to free speech.

    “The Twitter purge is real,” Mr. Bongino said on his Twitter account.

    Conservative Project Veritas investigative filmmaker James O’Keefe commented sarcastically on his Twitter account Wednesday: “Looks like thousands of Twitter users committed the thought crime of tweeting about ‘God,’ ‘the American flag’ and ‘guns,’ and were taken off the platform.”

  7. NRA’s LaPierre warns conservatives of ‘socialist state’

    National Rifle Association (NRA) CEO Wayne LaPierre on Thursday warned conservatives that socialists are smearing gun rights advocates and seeking to eliminate their rights.

    “Socialism is a movement that loves a smear. Racists, misogynists, sexists, xenophobe and more. These are the weapons and vitriol these character assassinations permanently hang on their targets because socialism feeds off manipulated victims,” LaPierre told the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

    LaPierre claimed “European socialists” are taking over the Democratic Party. He also named the “Occupy” movement, Black Lives Matter and antifa as examples of social groups that he claimed promote “uncivil discourse” and aim to “eliminate due process.”

    “The elimination of due process is the very gold standard of the socialist state,” he said.

      Just wait and see. Somehow the Left will find a way to intentionally conflate gun ownership with White Privilege™. Just as Muslims have managed to interlink (all appropriate criticism of) Islam and “racism”.

      I predict (you saw it here first!) that the firearms ownership earnings bracket—which will conveniently spike right in the heart of America’s Caucasian middle class—will be used to tag gun possession as a manifestation of White Privilege™.

      Too bad that there isn’t some way I can feel ashamed for writing such twaddle as this. Sadly, the Left just cannot stoop low enough anymore in its febrile grasping at the reins of power. They [the reins] must be “draggin’ far behind the wagon” to be so accessible for these laggards.

      And isn’t this a typical Socialist behavioral pattern?

      Constantly undermine existing infrastructure until it collapses to the point that voters will elect any sort of economic relief (however deficit-based).

      Two old maxims apply (in quasi-contrasting degrees):

      “Never argue with a fool, people may not be able to tell the difference.”

      “Don’t try to out-stink a skunk.”

      So, the clear question is: How to productively engage Liberals without fugging up the room to an unbearable extent?

      Silly as it may sound, this is the sort of metaphysical knife-edge that Western Civilization will be balancing on just before civil war breaks out (again).

      The very last thing Western Civilization needs is another World War-style opportunity to throw its (typically White) “best and brightest” into the meat-grinder. Far better that currently fragmented partisan opponents in America find some middle ground. (You can stop laughing now…)

      The barely suppressed chortlings of glee—related to idiotic US adventurism in Afghanistan and the MME (Muslim Middle East)—emanating from China, India, Africa, and South America should be adequate warning to a shrinking CWW™ (Caucasian Western World).

      Instead, this poorly smothered mirth is allowed to continue as the world gaily (in every sense of the word) prances toward the precipice of a, “Clash of Civilizations”, per Huntington.

      As Longfellow noted, “Whom the gods would destroy they first make mad”, applies all-too-neatly to Western Liberals. In their collective, “feelings-based” madness, they have invited into our midst some of the most murderous, barbaric, cruel, and relentless foes of Enlightenment Values™.

      The cruelest irony of all is that it’s not just Muslims being forcibly injected into American (or European) culture. Involuntarily brought amongst us are Communist Chinese, caste-obsessed Indians, illiterate Somalians, and unskilled, illiterate filth from some of this planet’s most corrupt “cultures”.

      What could possibly go wrong?

    n the last two months, law enforcement authorities in California took a gun away from a 38-year-old man who had threatened to kill himself, his wife and their young child if she left him. They removed three weapons from a 23-year-old ex-Marine who, the authorities said, had developed a paranoia that all males wanted to harm him. And they took a handgun from a 39-year-old man whose terrified neighbors reported that he was firing his weapon in the backyard; the man, who said he thought he was aiming for raccoons and rats, was found to be intoxicated, the police said.

    California is one of only five states with “red flag laws” or extreme risk protection orders allowing the police to temporarily take away guns from people deemed by a judge to be dangerous, often after a family member or acquaintance raises concerns. Similar measures are being weighed in more than a dozen additional state capitals from Pennsylvania to Hawaii, and are drawing new attention after the deadly shooting this month at a Florida high school in a case where the suspect, Nikolas Cruz, had numerous troubling run-ins with the authorities over many months. Florida has no red flag law.

  9. FL Shooting Survivor Colton Haab: CNN Told Me I Needed To “Stick To The Script”; Entire Town Hall Scripted

    Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivor Colton Haab appeared on FOX News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight to talk about his saga with CNN and how they “scripted” a question for him to use at Wednesday night’s town hall event hosted by the network and moderated by CNN’s Jake Tapper.

    Haab, a JROTC member who helped shepherd students to safety, was approached by the network to ask a question at the town hall. Haab showed CNN what he wanted to say but said Carrie Stevenson, an executive producer at CNN, ultimately rejected it and instead after several conversations “scripted” a question for him.

    “CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions and it ended up being all scripted,” Haab said to a local news outlet Wednesday night.

  10. Parkland’s Colton Haab: ‘Absolutely’ CNN Wrote the Question for Me

    The student who says CNN attempted to script the question he was scheduled to ask at last night’s CNN town hall on gun control, Colton Haab, is sticking by his story.

    This comes after CNN denied his claims that they would only let him read a question they had written.

    “There is absolutely no truth to this,” a statement from CNN said. “CNN did not provide or script questions for anyone in last night’s town hall, nor have we ever.”

    In an interview on Fox New’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, Haab said he told CNN what he generally planned to ask about, but “they actually wrote the question.”

    “I knew as soon as what had happened with me that it was going to be more scripted and wasn’t actually going to be actual questions,” Haab said, explaining his decision to skip the event altogether. CNN had reported in its statement that, “Colton’s father withdrew his name from participation before the forum began, which we regretted but respected.” In the Fox News interview, Haab indicated it was his own decision.

    Haab is a member of the Junior RTC and is credited with shielding dozens of students from bullets using kevlar sheets during the shooting. He told Carlson the question he planned to ask at the CNN town hall focused on whether teachers would be open to arming themselves.

  11. Trump considers pulling ICE out of California to let the state learn

    President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he’s considering pulling Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers out of California.

    Why? Because he feels the state is giving his administration “no help” in targeting the violent MS-13 gang, especially in Los Angeles.

    “We’re getting no help from the state of California,” Trump said from the White House. “Frankly, if I wanted to pull our people from California you would have a crime nest like you’ve never seen in California. All I’d have to do is say ‘ICE and border patrol, let California learn.’”

  12. Russia tests new stealth fighter over war-weary Syrian skies

    Russia’s most advanced combat warplane, the Su-57 stealth fighter, appears to have begun trial missions over the war-weary Syrian skies.

    On Thursday, unverified video footage posted on social media by Syrian political activists showed a pair of new Su-57s being escorted by more conventional Su-35 fighter jets and four Su-25 strike aircraft.

    The single-seat, twin-engine planes were allegedly filmed nearby Russia’s Khmeimim Air Base near the southeastern city of Latakia along the Mediterranean coastline and employ state-of-the-art stealth technology to avoid radar detection. They were developed to challenge the U.S. F-22 Raptor — and have been called the “F-22 killer.”

    The Swedes appear to have embarked on an audacious project resembling something from an episode of the sci-fi series Black Mirror; they intend to make fully conscious copies of the dead in a bid to offer digital immortality.

    A number of Swedish scientists are researching how to produce digital copies of those who have already passed away. Dagen daily has reported they are also planning to set about making robots which would resemble the deceased.

    To this end, the Swedish funeral agency Phoenix is currently looking for volunteers who would give the green light to scientists to replicate the images of their deceased relatives.

  14. U.S. Blocks a Chinese Deal Amid Rising Tensions Over Technology

    HONG KONG — United States officials have torpedoed a Chinese state-backed group’s plan to buy an American electronics company, signaling the Trump administration’s continuing skepticism toward Chinese investment deals, particularly those that involve transferring technological know-how.

    Xcerra, a Massachusetts-based provider of equipment for testing computer chips and circuit boards, said this week that it was withdrawing from its $580 million sale to an investment group backed by a Chinese government-controlled fund.

    The reason, according to Dave Tacelli, Xcerra’s president and chief executive, was that the deal was not likely to be approved by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, a multiagency Washington panel that operates largely out of the public eye. The committee, known as Cfius, plays an advisory role to the president, but it can effectively block foreign acquisitions of American companies over national security concerns.

  16. Middle school teacher tells class most gun owners have undiagnosed mental illness

    On Wednesday, Rich Penkoski, pastor of Warriors for Christ, a West Virginia-based Christian ministry that made news after its page was repeatedly torn down by Facebook, told yours truly in an exclusive interview that a substitute teacher at his daughter’s middle school reportedly informed the class that “most” gun owners in America have an undiagnosed mental illness.

    Moreover, the teacher reportedly told the children that they should support gun control measures.

    Penkoski, who has had issues with this school before, told me he learned of the statement during a discussion on gun control with his daughter.

    According to Penkoski, the teacher showed an article on gun control to the class but would not let students bring the article home.

    A friend of Penkoski’s 14-year-old daughter said she could confirm the teacher’s statement.

    “A food bank in western Germany drew widespread criticism Friday for its decision to stop giving access cards to foreigners, who it says make up a growing percentage of its users. The move was hailed by some far-right groups.

    The food bank in Essen announced last month it would only register new users if they prove they’ve got German citizenship, saying some elderly people and women were being scared away.

    The chairman of city’s integration council, Miguel Martin Gonzalez Kliefken, warned the decision would play into the hands of far-right groups.

    In an interview with broadcaster n-tv, Kliefken said the food bank should remove any troublemakers rather than punish people based on their nationality.

    The Essen food bank said about three-quarters of its users are foreigners now. Its chairman, Joerg Sartor, told the regional daily WAZ that its staff was concerned about a “lack of respect toward women” among some young foreign men.

    Other food banks and migrant rights group rejected the move, saying the problem could be dealt with differently.

    “There are no first- or second-class people in need,” Berlin’s food bank said.

    Ulrike Demmer, a spokeswoman for the German government, declined to comment on the specific case but said “Germany is a country of humanity and everyone in need should receive help,”

    Despite having a strong social safety net, Germany has about 930 food banks that provide basic goods to people who depend on state benefits.”

    “The French prosecutor’s office says an unnamed person detained in France in connection with the August extremist attacks in Spain will be handed preliminary charges.

    The prosecutor’s office said Friday that the suspect is being held as part of an inquiry into “attempted murder as part of a terrorist enterprise” and “criminal terrorist association.”

    A French judge launched an investigation last month of potential French connections to the attacks in Barcelona and the resort town of Cambrils, which left 16 people dead. Most of the men believed responsible were killed in confrontations with police.

    The prosecutor’s office says the person arrested in the Tarn region Tuesday was in the network of one of the Spanish suspects, but declined to elaborate.

    Two other people arrested in France Tuesday have been released.”

    Recently Bernie Sanders’ spokeswoman Symone Sanders stated to CNN’s “The Lead,” that if the Florida Shooter “had been black or brown,” both President Trump and Congress would have reacted.

    Richard: The Race card is one of the few cards the left has to play, that is why they use it so often and have used it to the point people ignore it. Just as they try to get their socialist agenda passed while the emotions are still high after tragedies happen.     Over the weekend the Seattle Times jumped at a news tip: there was a Confederate flag flying beneath the American flag in the city’s Greenwood neighborhood, and residents were very concerned.

    Only, it turns out, it wasn’t the Confederate flag at all. It was the state flag of Norway, and a group of friendly Norwegians were just trying to show their patriotism and support for their Olympic Team when their very concerned neighbors contacted local media.

    “Hi. Suddenly there is a Confederate flag flying in front of a house in my Greenwood neighborhood. It is at the north-east corner of 92nd and Palatine, just a block west of 92nd and Greenwood Ave N.,” the tipster wrote, according to the Times. “I would love to know what this ‘means’ … but of course don’t want to knock on their door. Maybe others in the area are flying the flag? Maybe it’s a story? Thank you.”

  37. The Hungarian parliament has adopted a resolution which supports Poland in their clash which the European Union. Earlier the European Commission triggered the Article 7 of the EU Treaty against Poland because of Poland’s new judiciary law.

    Sanctions on Poland can only be imposed with the support of all EU members. Hungary has now pledged to veto any punitive measures by the EU against Warsaw.

    Seems that Florida school shooting has roots to Trayvon Martin: the school district entered into a political decision with the police enforcement that high school students will not be charged for criminal activity – in order to make their statistics look better and attract more funding.

    Thus, Trayvon Martin, who should have been arrested for his past criminal activity, was out and able to attack people.

    And, the school shooter from last week did not have a criminal record for his past criminal activity, permitting him to pass a gun ownership check and purchase the gun that he used to shoot up the school (though, there seems to be a second shooter as per witnesses, so, make of it what you will).

    This is about the 5th or 6th lament of this arrangement between the school district and law enforcement for this political arrangement. It gives details that are horrific…rule of law has indeed broken down…

  41. The largely abandoned former seaside resort town of Castel Volturno north of Naples has been taken over by Nigerian gangs who run drug and prostitution rings.
    The town has a total population of around 30,000 people, of which an estimated 20,000 are migrants, French news magazine L’Obs reports.

    Many of the Nigerian migrant women who walk the streets as prostitutes are underage, offering sexual favours for as little as 5 to 15 euros along the Via Domitiana by the sea.

    The rampant petty crime and violence in the city has led to journalists wanting to write about the town requiring police escorts for their own safety.

    The current Italian government, which is seeking re-election on March 4th, has signed a 21-million euro package to increase security in towns like Castel Volturno and offer integration programmes for migrants.

    The mayor of Castel Volturno, Dimitri Russo, said that the government’s measures will likely not be enough to stem the rising tide of crime. Russo said that the problem was that the city was no longer dealing with an organised traditional mafia but many gangs of “predatory” criminal migrants.

  47. I held an SCI security clearance which is the very highest we have in America. I say these things to help you to understand my background to weigh my opinion as to the events in Parkview Florida, (30 minutes from my home where I live, now retired from School administration).
    As an administrator in charge of a large High School of 1,800 students and 140 employees, I held tabletop exercises and wrote publications & power points presentation, & helped with both multiple school & mult-jurisdiction school systems training as developer and presenter.
    Never did I hear from, receive information from, or was contacted by, read any publications, or gathered statistics from the United States Secret Service. Not once- EVER. Yet, 3 weeks prior to the shooting in Florida, the USSS was not only at the school, they held training.
    I have also, despite actually thwarting a school shooting by an armed predator at my school, causing both Code Red, total lockdown, 911calls and arrests and conviction of the potential shooter, saw, spoke with, or was interviewed or contacted by the FBI, or the USSS.
    Its worthy to note the 911 response time was in excess of 20 minutes. In fact, I was only contacted by a few reporters. The incident was basically ignored and squashed in fear of damaging the political establishment, school board, school superintendent, et.al.
    NO REPORTERS EVER CONTACTED MY STUDENTS for interviews or opinions. I never spoke to a national law enforcement agent much less the USSS. So, to hear the FBI were the first responders only beating CNN by minutes in a wealthy Florida area saturated with Law Enforcement shocked me.

    he US mission in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, has urged people to avoid the area following a grenade attack on the diplomatic premises by an unknown assailant, who subsequently used a second device to commit suicide.
