    • There’s a bit of confusion here as Hopkins mentions, “Zimbabwe”, but talks about, “South Africa”. Which is it? These are (however narrowly differentiated) two different places. While both are home to White Genocide, the political and sociocultural moods which embroider these two African hellholes are entirely different.

I’ve been reading an (admittedly dated) 2010 National Geographic article about South Africa and its willing neglect to mention the ongoing White genocide, rape epidemic, and overall descent into lawless chaos is a supremely reprehensible violation of journalistic ethics.

Hopkins’ inadequate delineation twixt South Africa and Zimbabwe does no one any favors. Both locations desperately need some “disinfecting sunlight” shed upon them such that they might be forced to become far more honest about the turmoil and intensely racist violence (if not anti-White genocide) taking place in both locales.

This sort of articulate speaker has an obligation to all involved (i.e., on either side of the argument) in terms of getting these things straight.

More than anything, everyone in the West is in dire need of gaining a better understanding of what’s happening in tumultuous sub-Saharan Africa.

So little accurate, verifiable information is forthcoming from this region that reporters like Hopkins have an abiding obligation to get the picture straight and true.

  1. the guardian – The Venerable W review – the poisonous monk behind Myanmar’s anti-Muslim vendetta

Barbet Schroeder’s overpoweringly bleak documentary about the Buddhist monk stirring up ethnic hate against Myanmar’s Rohingya Muslims is the third in what has now emerged as his “trilogy of evil” – a trio of disquieting documentaries of which the first two were General Idi Amin Dada in 1974 and Terror’s Advocate in 2007 about the genial, cigar-smoking Jacques Vergès, lawyer for Klaus Barbie.

The Venerable W delivers a nauseous, almost black-comic jab at any liberal who fondly believed that Buddhism and Buddhists somehow float ethereally free of the sectarianism and bigotry that infect any other religion. And it also emerges as a devastating indictment of someone who is not its subject and appears only briefly: Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader who is now increasingly resembling a passive-aggressive Eva Perón, or perhaps a Mother Teresa, but the way Christopher Hitchens considered her: as a self-important matriarch of nationalism.

It is actually about Ashin Wirathu, an orange-clad Buddhist monk with a mass following, who despite a bland and almost torpid manner is a fanatical anti-Muslim activist, using social media and unceasing programmes of public speaking and DVD propaganda to stir up violent hate against the Rohingya Muslims – claiming that they are a Saudi-backed Bangladeshi insurgency whose purpose is to infiltrate the country, destroy Myanmar’s traditional Buddhism and establish a caliphate. At this monk’s instigation, Rohingyas have their villages burned and they are harassed, beaten and killed. Wirathu himself drops his quiet mannerisms at the end of the film, for a raucous speech calling the UN human rights envoy Yanghee Lee a “whore” and for an acid interview mocking Angela Merkel.
Time magazine ran a cover story about Wirathu in 2013, but Schroeder’s movie gives a more substantial, and stomach-turningly intimate study of the man, even more relevant now that Aung San Suu Kyi’s fall from grace has focused attention on Myanmar’s sectarianism.

[…]Beating up and killing the Muslim minority is a traditional risk-free way of reaffirming Myanmar’s embattled statehood. And the country’s Buddhist monks are a willing civilian militia.

[…]Like Wirathu, there is the same touch of pure irrational malevolence, something that does not have a political or ideological explanation. Maybe it’s a clinical pathology. Nationalist fever could simply be a pretext for a bacchanal of violence. And of course there is the example of the Bosnian genocide: mass killings in the very midst of Europe, where “never again” had been a political mantra for four decades.

There is the same paranoia over territory and the same self-pitying overdog victimhood – beating up a smaller minority, and claiming that they are in fact the larger force, backed by foreigners. Wirathu even deploys an outrageous “false flag” claim: that Rohingyas are setting fire to their own villagers to get international support

The Venerable W does not explicitly debate the existence of evil as such, but it certainly argues that nationalism, ignorance, arrogance, dogmatic religion and fear are its constituent elements. This is a sombre, pessimistic but necessary film.

Rohingya refugees as pawns in a geopolitical game

US and EU unlikely to impose new sanctions on Myanmar’s abusive military practices in sight of China’s use of the crisis to score diplomatic points

[Nikki Haley: blah, blah, quack, quack…]

Yet it is extremely unlikely that the US will take such punitive action, including a reimposition of the economic sanctions lifted last year by then president Barack Obama.

Delaying the planned restart of the US’ International Military Education and Training program, suspended after Myanmar’s military lethally crushed a pro-democracy uprising in 1988, may be as far as America is willing to go in responding to reports of widespread security force abuses against the Rohingya.

Indeed, fears that China may bid to capitalize on the humanitarian crisis to regain recently lost influence over Myanmar will likely restrain Washington from making anything more than symbolic gestures of displeasure.

While the West and UN have criticized Myanmar’s “clearance operations” launched in response to Rohingya insurgent attacks, China has lauded Myanmar’s tough tactics to maintain stability in Rakhine state, where Beijing has budding commercial and strategic interests.

      • Throw ’em to China, throw ’em to Russia.
Myanmar Seeks Advanced Weapons from Russia, but China Remains the Key Player

Myanmar’s generals have not hidden their displeasure with the quality of Chinese military hardware and jet fighters, but they know that a more assertive and powerful China remains a key player while Myanmar faces mounting international pressure over the crisis in Rakhine State.

Myanmar will seek a more balanced diplomatic approach toward powerful neighbors such as China and India as well as Russia, a UN Security Council member, to provide it with diplomatic cover.

While some remain in denial, top officials and generals are increasingly paranoid over the crisis in Rakhine State and possible international intervention. It is as though Myanmar is reverting to the days when it was ruled by the much-condemned generals, who were constantly worried about Western pressure and UN intervention.…

…It has been reported that since 2011 military relations between Moscow and Naypyitaw have gone from strength to strength. Under the military rule of the previous decades and the Western sanctions it brought on, Myanmar depended heavily on military hardware from China. But it steadily backed away as the generals complained about the quality of Chinese weapons.

Myanmar began to diversify its search for more advanced weapons and training, and Moscow was ready to assist. Hundreds of Myanmar officers have been sent to Russia for trainings since the 2000s. During the Russian defense minister’s recent visit, Fomin said more than 600 of Myanmar’s military personnel were currently studying at Russia’s higher military education institutions.…

…[F]irst Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi came to visit Myanmar, shortly after the Chinese Communist Party’s 19th National Congress. It was a clever move. While Western governments put pressure on Myanmar over the Rohingya crisis, China has shown its solidarity and demonstrated a spirit of long-time friendship and strategic partnership.…

China wanted greater contact between the two armed forces, deeper training and technical exchanges, and more defense cooperation along their common border to ensure peace and stability, Li added.

It is ironic to see a repeat of recent history as Myanmar now moves closer to its old allies while its honeymoon period with Western governments draws to a close. Myanmar will seek more diplomatic cover from China, but it will no doubt continue to diversify by buying more advanced weapons from elsewhere.

She got caught, so she is stepping down. That’s great, but the larger problem remains: why was a woman who covers her hair being used to sell hair products? This was patent Islamopandering from L’Oreal — a tacit recognition of what the future holds for women in the West. This fiasco with Amena Khan has doubtless taught them nothing: they’ll just hire another hijab-wearing Muslima, and keep their fingers crossed that no Jew-hating tweets from their new model surface.

    • This is a really ugly parody, but now you will know why there has been the persistent West Coast joke of:

Q: What’s the longest bridge in the world?

A: The San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge … because it stretches between Fairyland and Africa.

The tragic part being that this connecting roadway represents a bidirectional path that continues to facilitate immense amounts of crime. Both assault, rape, robbery, and home invasion by Oakland Blacks who hunt victims in San Francisco, but also child molesting (i.e., NAMBLA – North American Man/Boy Love Association – ‘a pedophile and pederasty advocacy organization in the United States’) gays who have no compunction about prowling the desperately poor streets of—largely Black—West Oakland.

For many years, I lived near the northern border of Oakland and witnessed more than a few instances of its vicious criminal activity. In my time, I also have seen the anti-heterosexual agenda of the San Francisco Bay Area’s gay community.

In retrospect, it has become almost impossible for me to retain a shred of sympathy for either group. From all indications, they continue to pursue criminal or immoral paths that are incapable of eliciting the slightest degree of compassion on my part.

Please keep in mind that this comes from someone who marched for civil and gay rights all through the twentieth century’s latter half.

    The 38-year-old pedophile claims he’s trans-age.

A Chicago man accused of sexually assaulting two six-year-olds and an eight-year-old on repeated occasions, told police officers that he’s really “a 9-year-old trapped in an adult’s body,” prosecutors revealed on Wednesday.

Thirty-eight-year-old Joseph Roman is charged with repeated predatory criminal sexual assault. The numerous attacks began in 2015 and continued until earlier this month.

Roman has reportedly confessed to some of the attacks to authorities. His victims were the daughters of his friends.

According to The Chicago Tribune, “Prosecutors said the attacks began when the family of one of the girls moved into Roman’s home for 10 weeks. Roman is accused of regularly assaulting her between August 2015 and December 2017 while the other family members were sleeping. The girl was 6 when the assaults began.”

Palestinian journalists have decided to renew their campaign against the Palestinian Authority’s assault on freedom of expression.

The decision came after the Palestinian Authority (PA) filed charges against journalist Tareq Abu Zeid, for “incitement” and “jeopardizing the security of the State of Palestine.”

Abu Zeid is the latest victim of a new Palestinian law targeting journalists and social media activists.

Earlier this week, a Palestinian magistrate’s court in Nablus, the largest Palestinian city in the West Bank, decided to refer the case of Abu Zeid to the PA’s Grand Criminal Court. Abu Zeid, who was arrested in August 2017 for 15 days, is facing charges over Facebook posts criticizing the Palestinian Authority. If convicted, he faces a minimum sentence of one year in prison and a fine.

Four other Palestinian journalists who were arrested by the Palestinian Authority around the same time are facing similar charges. However, it is still not clear when they will be brought to trial. The four are: Mamdouh Hamamreh, Kutaiba Qassem, Amer Abu Arafeh and Ahmed Halaikah. Many other journalists and Facebook users have also been summoned for interrogation over the past few months on suspicion of “incitement.”

Home > Political Islam > In the US > National Security > Al-Qaeda: Muslims Should Kill ‘Americans Everywhere’

A senior Al-Qaeda leader has called on all Muslims to “rise and attack the Jews and the Americans everywhere.”

In a video released this week, Khalid Batarfi, a top commander with the group’s Yemen-based operation (Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula), said “killing them is one of the most important things.”

The response was ostensibly aimed at the decision by U.S. President Donald Trump’s to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The next day, the State Department named Batarfi a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist.” According to State, “the designation seeks to deny Batarfi the resources he needs to plan and carry out further terrorist attacks. Among other consequences, all of Batarfi’s property and interests in property subject to U.S. jurisdiction are blocked, and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with him.”

  16. VANCOUVER — A British Columbia man acquitted of terrorism-related charges has filed a lawsuit against the provincial and federal governments, arguing he was maliciously prosecuted in violation of his charter rights.

Othman Hamdan was charged in 2015 over 85 Facebook posts in which he supported some actions of Islamic State militants and celebrated “lone wolf” terrorists. Last year, a B.C. judge ruled his comments might have been offensive, but they didn’t constitute inciting terrorism.

Hamdan has filed a lawsuit that argues Canadian and B.C. authorities prosecuted him despite the absence of probable grounds supporting his guilt and chose to ignore a body of evidence that supported his innocence.

“The conduct of the defendants was reckless, intentional, deliberate, in disregard of the plaintiff’s rights, indifferent to the consequences and exploited the plaintiff’s vulnerability,” says the notice of civil claim filed in B.C. Supreme Court.

The Pentagon was forced last year to rescind interim security clearances granted under the Obama administration to at least 165 contractors linked to various crimes, including felony convictions for pedophilia and foreign government affiliations, revealed a report issued by the Director of the Defense Security Service (DSS).

According to the report, DOD contractors preserved their ability to access sensitive government information despite prior criminal records and other illicit past activity that the Pentagon’s vetting process failed to detect.

“Of those 165 cases, 151 people had pre-existing issues that they did not disclose and were not discovered during initial checks; the issues were not identified until the investigation was completed [in 2017],” noted the report, adding, “The interim decisions analyzed … actually occurred before 2017 and were subject to a final decision by the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals (DOHA) in 2017.”

In other words, the Pentagon subjected the contractors to the first round of vetting under former President Barack Obama and the Trump administration discovered their deception last year.

  22. Dutch Spies Infiltrated Russian Hacking Unit Before DNC Attack

Dutch intelligence services had eyes and ears for years on the Russian outfit that hacked the Democratic National Committee, even infiltrating a surveillance camera at the Cozy Bear headquarters and recording hackers’ faces, Dutch media reported.

That trove of intelligence gathered by the Netherlands since 2014 has been crucial to the U.S. investigation into the Russian campaign influence operation, the reports from Nieuwsuur and Volkskrant said.

Cybersecurity company CrowdStrike reportedly first noticed the DNC hack by two Russian intelligence groups on June 14, 2016; CrowdStrike CTO Dmitri Alperovitch wrote in a blog post at the time that they were called upon by the DNC to investigate a suspected breach and “immediately identified two sophisticated adversaries on the network – COZY BEAR and FANCY BEAR.”

“But Chanel knows that my obedience comes with a small price that she loves to pay anyway: I want to come home to a home-cooked dinner at six every night, one that she fixes and one that I expect one day to have daughters learn to fix after they become traditional homemakers and family wives — think Norman Rockwell here and Gloria Steinem be damned,” he said in the post.
