  3. Sadr: Muslims must liberate Jerusalem not fight each other (memo, Dec 8, 2017)
    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20171208-sadr-muslims-must-liberate-jerusalem-not-fight-each-other/

“The leader of the Sadrist Movement in Iraq, Muqtada al-Sadr, condemned the US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to move its embassy there. He called on Saudi Arabia to direct the Islamic alliance it leads to liberate Jerusalem.

In a news conference he held in Najaf on Thursday in response to Trump’s decision, Al-Sadr said, “The declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of (Israel) came on the day of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and this constitutes a challenge for Muslims, and I hope Muslims can really understand that.”

Al-Sadr called on the «Jihadi Iraqi factions to an urgent meeting in any place they want to discuss the matter of Jerusalem», pointing out that “if the factions are serious in fighting (Israel) I will be the first soldier and not a leader,” according to Al-Sumaria Iraqi channel.

He stressed the need for “the return of Jerusalem to the majority and not to the minority,” and called “the Palestinians not to bow in any way after Trump’s decision, and to reinitiate the Palestinian Intifada,” according to HuffPost Arabi.

Al-Sadr also called on Saudi Arabia to “immediately end the war in Yemen, Bahrain and Syria, and direct the Islamic alliance it leads to liberate Jerusalem. Otherwise, this will bring nothing but humiliation and disgrace for us and for it as well in case it fails to do so.”

Al-Sadr called on the Arab and Islamic countries to “temporarily close American embassies and to permanently close the Israeli embassies.” He urged them to “reject all Arab and Islamic differences and unite against such attacks.”

He also called on “Arab young people to be aware of the weightiness of the issue and renew the Islamic Jihad spirit in order to liberate Jerusalem before it is too late.” He stressed that the “Arab Spring must be against Israel, the traitorous rulers and megalomaniacs.””

RAGE AROUND THE WORLD Jerusalem riots spread to Indonesia and Malaysia as terror group Hamas promises ‘day of rage’ over Trump over embassy move

Donald Trump sparked protests after announcing the US would recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel
    By Emma Lake

RIOTS sparked by Donald Trump’s provocative move to recognise the Holy City of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital have spread to Indonesia and Malaysia.

Furious protesters have joined rallies around the world after terror group Hamas called for a “day of rage” in response to the US President’s announcement.

Muslims in Indonesia and Malaysia joined rallies outside the countries’ US embassies with Malaysia’s sports minister Khairy Jamaluddin threatening “the world will rise against the United States”.

Hundreds have also taken part in protests in Iran with state TV airing footage of marchers chanting “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” while holding up Palestinian flags and banners.

Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, which runs the Gaza Strip, has called for a “day of rage” with its leader Ismail Haniya said a new upraising should be launched.

Hundreds more police officers have been deployed in Jerusalem’s Old City today with further conflicts feared.

With Palestinians of all factions taking to the streets in protest of Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem, the PA president holds the key

If there are no big surprises in the region – and there don’t appear to be any on the horizon — there are likely to be several stormy days over the weekend, and not because of the weather.

In fact, an improvement in the weather is likely to make the protests in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza — which began Thursday with a Fatah-organized general strike in Palestinian cities, and are likely to intensify on Friday — even more tempestuous.

  6. Israel strikes Gaza militant posts after rockets fired at Israel: army

JERUSALEM (Reuters) – The Israeli military said on Thursday that an aircraft and a tank had targeted two posts belonging to militants in the Gaza Strip after three rockets were launched at Israel.

Sirens sounded in Israel at various locations on a day of heightened tension following demonstrations in the coastal enclave and the occupied West Bank as Palestinians protested at U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement on Wednesday that he was recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Two rockets launched at Israel from the Gaza Strip fell short inside the Palestinian enclave earlier in the evening and a third, fired later, landed in an open area in Israel causing no casualties or damage, an army spokeswoman said.

  7. Venezuela’s chronic shortages give rise to ‘medical flea markets’

SAN CRISTOBAL/MARACAIBO, Venezuela (Reuters) – Venezuela’s critical medicine shortage has spurred “medical flea markets,” where peddlers offer everything from antibiotics to contraceptives laid out among the traditional fruits and vegetables.

The crisis-wrought Latin American nation is heaving under worsening scarcity of drugs, as well as basic foods, due to tanking national production and strict currency controls that crimp imports.

The local pharmaceutical association estimates at any given time, there is a shortage of around 85 percent of drugs.

  8. Newly Revealed Experiment Shows How F-35 Could Help Intercept ICBMs

In 2014, the sensor-studded plane demonstrated an ability to track missiles, leading to a “tactically significant” improvement in targeting.

Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., raised more than a few eyebrows (and drew a few rolled eyes) when he suggested in November that the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter could intercept North Korean missiles headed for the United States. Hunter cited analysis from Los Alamos National Labs and other sources, according to Inside Defense.

Turns out the F-35 may be an ICBM buster after all, or at least be helpful toward that end. On Tuesday, Northrop Grumman called a small group of journalists to its offices in Linthicum, Maryland, to show the results of a 2014 experiment conducted with the Missile Defense Agency, or MDA.

The U.S. has no foolproof way to down a North Korean ICBM. Physics says the best opportunity comes during “boost phase,” as the rocket is leaving the launch pad. But DPRK anti-aircraft defenses make it difficult for the U.S. to get a weapon close enough to do any good. That’s why the Pentagon is looking at elaborate, futuristic concepts like arming drones with missile-killing lasers.

MOGADISHU, Somalia — As Americans finalize their holiday travel plans, terrorists overseas are busy constructing sophisticated laptop bombs that can be smuggled onto planes. An attack took place in Somalia in February of last year.

CCTV footage shows two men going into the airport from the tarmac. One is carrying a laptop. At one point, he slips the rigged computer to the bomber in the coffee shop.

The man was the head of Mogadishu’s airport security at the time.

The laptop exploded shortly after takeoff, and blew a hole in the side of the plane. Passengers remained calm. Only the bomber was killed.

  10. Japan to acquire air-launched missiles able to strike North Korea

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan is to acquire medium-range, air-launched cruise missiles, capable of striking North Korea, a controversial purchase of what will become the longest-range munitions of a country that has renounced the right to wage war.

Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera did not refer to North Korea when announcing the planned acquisition and said the new missiles would be for defence, with Japan still relying on the United States to strike any enemy bases.

“We are planning to introduce the JSM (Joint Strike Missile) that will be mounted on the F-35A (stealth fighter) as ‘stand-off’ missiles that can be fired beyond the range of enemy threats,” Onodera told a news conference.

Japan is also looking to mount Lockheed Martin Corp’s extended-range Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM-ER) on its F-15 fighters, he said.

There is an unwritten rule that ex-presidents never speak publicly about their successors. It’s hardly surprising that Barack Obama has violated this code.

But what he had to say about Pres. Donald Trump is downright alarming. While speaking before the Economic Club of Chicago, Obama compared Trump to Adolph Hitler and warned of a genocide in America.

As if that’s not bad enough, the media have largely ignored Obama’s comments.

One member of the press who didn’t was Crain’s Chicago Business political columnist Greg Hinz, who writes:

  12. CZECH REPUBLIC STICKING TO ITS GUNS ON MIGRANT QUOTAS IN FACE OF EC LAWSUIT (radiocz, Dec 8, 2017)
    http://www.radio.cz/en/section/curraffrs/czech-republic-sticking-to-its-guns-on-migrant-quotas-in-face-of-ec-lawsuit

“The European Commission has announced it is suing the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary in the bloc’s top court for their refusal to take in asylum seekers in line with the Commission’s mandatory re-distribution mechanism. Prague says it will not change its stand and warns that a court case will only further undermine public trust in EU institutions.

The European Commission announced its decision on Thursday saying it had waited in vain for a show of solidarity from the three states in question. The EC’s deputy chair Frans Timmermans :

“There can be no free-rider solution in this. If there is a serious crisis in any member state then that member state should be able to count on the solidarity of every single member state of the European Union.”

The decision to take the country to court came as no surprise to Prague and the country’s newly appointed prime minister, Andrej Babiš, had a ready response. At a press briefing in Prague he said that even in the face of a lawsuit, the country would not accept its quota of migrants.

“We have a different view on this matter. We do not have the same asylum policy as other EU member states. Our public feels strongly about who should be allowed to settle in the country and if the EC fails to respect this, then I fear that it will only boost those forces who want to see the EU fall apart and that would be a pity.”

Prime Minister Babiš said he would talk to the EC commissioner for migration at the EU summit in Brussels next week to explain his country’s position and try to negotiate the lawsuit’s withdrawal. Babiš has criticized the outgoing Interior Minister Milan Chovanec for not being more active in this respect and for not taking the initiative and presenting alternative solutions in Brussels.

Meanwhile, the Czech political scene remains united in rejecting migrant quotas, although the Mayors and Independents and the Pirates Party say the country should have followed Slovakia’s example by taking in a small number of thoroughly- screened migrants, in order to avoid a lawsuit…”

“There Are Only Muslims and Communists”

“NATO has declared itself as a defensive alliance without questioning what is it defending against. But it all begins with defining the enemy,” Zeman stated.

He then continued: “The enemy is the anti-civilization spreading from northern Africa all the way to Indonesia. Inhabited by two billions of people and financed partly by gasoline sales, partly by drug sales,” speaking about the world of Muslims…

“I don’t believe there are Muslims and radical Muslims. Just as I don’t believe there are moderate and radical communists. There are only Muslims and communists,” Zeman addressed the conference participants.

He believes that one of the mistakes the West has been making is its willingness to negotiate and its responsiveness towards Muslim countries.

“Just remember the appeasement politics during the ‘30s. The victims were thrown directly into enemy’s guts, and (see) where it ended. The 21st century is not going to be Fukuyama’s ‘End of History’, but Huntington’s ‘Clash of Civilizations’,” predicted the retired Zeman.

  13. Somali refugee jailed for 9 years for ‘animalistic’ rape bid on 22-year-old student (ibtimes, Dec 8, 2017)
    http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/you-tried-rape-woman-you-barely-knew-refugee-jailed-9-years-animalistic-rape-bid-1650676

“A court in UK has handed a Somali refugee nine years in prison after he tried to rape a 22-year-old student.

During a hearing at Isleworth Crown Court, Recorder Sallie Bennett-Jenkins referred to Abdourahman Amadeo’s behaviour as “animalistic” and said: “You tried to rape a woman you barely knew. The fact you sought to have sex with her beggars’ belief and can only be described as animalistic.”

“Your thoughts are obvious through your words. You took your own selfish and animalistic sexual satisfaction from her,” she added.

The court documents revealed that Amadeo had attempted the rape at his Hounslow home in London in December 2015 when he used to work at Heathrow Airport’s Caffè Nero. During the hearing, the jury heard that the victim and one of her female friends had partied at a club before they took a lift from one of the 24-year-old’s pals thinking he was taking them to their home.

Instead, the man took them to Amadeo’s address at around 4.30am in the morning, where he attempted to rape her. He also shouted “Get this h** out of my bed” after trying to sexually assault her, the Daily Mail reported.

Bennett-Jenkins QC told the court: “It was an attempted rape committed in the most callous of circumstances. She was enjoying an evening out with friends. She did consume alcohol and there is no criticism of her in this respect.

“We have CCTV footage and we can see she was extremely vulnerable, she was falling over, and she could barely stand and fell, cutting her legs, on the way to your home. There was a specific targeting here of a vulnerable victim.”

The recorder added that due to high consumption of alcohol, the young woman was not able to control herself and she either fell asleep or passed into unconsciousness in the accused’s room…”

  14. Islamic Org Claims Europeans Need Millions of Muslim Migrants to Pay Their Pensions (breitbart, Dec 8, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/12/08/europe-needs-muslim-migrants-pensions/

“The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) — an intergovernmental body consisting of 57 states — has declared Europeans need Muslim mass migration to pay their pensions.

As well as describing “rising” migration from the Muslim world as a “win-win boon”, the organisation’s information and communications director Maha Akeel said that Europe is obliged to “rejuvenate itself” through opening its doors to the world’s poor, because the continent is named after “a Syrian mother”.

Writing in Euractiv, Akeel — whose organisation declares itself to be “the collective voice of the Muslim world” — proclaims opposition to mass migration from outside the continent to be “thoroughly foreign to Europe”.

She adds: “Immigration into and within Europe is older than the name Europe itself. In Greek mythology, the woman after whom the continent was named, Europa, was originally from Phoenicia, an ancient civilisation encompassing what is now modern-day Syria and Lebanon,” she said.

“The continent named after a Syrian mother can rejuvenate itself by accepting her descendants (and others) who are hungry for safety, security, and prosperity.”

Akeel goes on to accuse right-wing parties of “lying to their own populations” when they warn against mass migration from the third world, claiming “study after study across a range of countries” show the phenomenon to be a roaring success.

“Europe’s success in the latter half of the 20th century was made possible by immigrants, and the 21st century will be no different,” she argues, claiming that mass migration is “the only possible way” to “sustain [Europe’s] ageing native population”.

Highlighting democratic projections which show the continent ageing — a phenomena she says will lead to a “colossal drop in GDP” — Akeel writes that “the far-right’s ambition to erect a ‘Fortress Europe’ that shuts out migrants would doom continental economies to slow growth, stagnation, low productivity and low employment for decades to come”.

“Migrants could be a key asset in supporting the UK’s ageing population,” she said, citing International Longevity Centre claims about migration.

“Far from being a drain on the welfare state, between 2001 and 2011 migrants from the European Economic Area paid £22.1 billion more in taxes than they took from the British government.”

However, research indicates that when immigration from outside the EEA between 1995 and 2011 is taken into account as well, migrants are in fact a net drain to Britain — on the order of between £115 and £160 billion.

Akeel’s vision of mass migration as a “win-win boon” for Europe stands in stark contrast to an analysis of migrants’ potential to contribute by University College London psychology professor Dr. James Thompson in 2015.

Citing research on the educational attainment of first and second generation migrants compared to natives of a receiving country, Thompson slammed EU leaders for using the contributions of Jews in Europe as “appropriate exemplars of migrant competence and achievements”, when talking about the current influx of migrants from the world’s poorest countries.

“The analysis of scholastic attainments in first and second generation immigrants shows that the Gulf has gained from immigrants and Europe has lost,” he writes, explaining that “this is because those emigrating to the Gulf have higher abilities than the locals, those emigrating to Europe have lower ability than the locals”.

This is damaging for European societies, according to Thompson, because “lower ability leads to lower status, lower wages, and higher resentment at perceived differences”.

He warns that “if the West cannot bear to mention competence differences, then differences in outcome [will be] seen as being due solely to prejudice.””

    • 50% of male muslims, and 80% of femail muslims are unemployed in England,so who is paying whos pensions?they are a massive drain upon OUR resources for no economic benefit, yet they are not forced into any job as the indigenous population are,or lose their benefits .we the English population are paying this retarded filth £240 per month for every additional “wife” that they care to scam us with, which is why they all own their own homes and the English can live on the streets and rot for all our elected representatives care.

  15. MEMRI TV – We Want to Bring Light to Europe So Europeans Decide That They Want Islam

London-based Islamic scholar Haitham Al-Haddad, originally from Saudi Arabia, gave an address in Norway in which he talked about the alienation that many young people feel toward the European country in which they live and said that this was what led to the appeal of ISIS. “Taking over Europe is a negative statement,” implying military force, he said, “but what we want is to bring light to all Europeans, so Europeans themselves decide that they want Islam.”

Al-Haddad further said that “Western values should include Islamic values, because Islam is part and parcel of Europe.” He called for more young Muslims to become lawyers, politicians, and journalists, exhorting them not to “sit passive.” “Islam has spread in many countries without shedding a drop of blood,” he said. His address was posted on the YouTube channel of Islam Net Videos on May 5, 2017.

    https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-greece-turkey-erdogan/after-stinging-athens-turkeys-erdogan-woos-crowds-in-northern-greece-idUKKBN1E224Q

“KOMOTINI, Greece (Reuters) – Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan gave out toy cars and dolls to children on the final leg of a visit to Greece on Friday, a trip meant to boost ties but which has exposed the deep rifts between the two neighbours.

Erdogan visited the Muslim community in Komotini, a town in northern Greece which once belonged to the Ottoman Empire. A day earlier, he riled his Greek hosts by suggesting the 130,000 Muslims in the region were discriminated against by Athens.

“We have made very important decisions to meet the needs of our ethnically Greek citizens, and it is our right to expect similar behaviour from Greece,” he told cheering crowds outside a school in the region.

Turkey has frequently found fault with the appointment by Athens of local Muslim clerics – known as Muftis – instead of recognising those elected by the local population.

Erdogan is the first Turkish president to visit Greece in 65 years, but he has put Athens on the defensive by remarking that a decades-old treaty needs revision. The treaty, among other things, defines the boundaries between the two countries.

None of that controversy was apparent on Friday, as hundreds of well-wishers gathered outside a mosque in Komotini to welcome Erdogan. Aides carried bags stuffed with toys, which Erdogan gave out to children.

Some supporters shouted “Leader” as he made his way through the crowds. Greek police snipers were stationed on nearby buildings and security was tight.

“Erdogan is very popular among the Muslim community in the area. He is an ordinary person close to the people,” said Ahmet Hoca, 57, a farmer…”

“Pope Francis is rallying people to banish social ills like indifference, fear of foreigners and of whatever is different from us.

Francis decried the “viruses” afflicting society during an appearance Friday near Rome’s Spanish Steps, an annual tradition marking the start of the city’s holiday season.

He also prayed that people develop “antibodies” to social ailments including “resignation about environmental and ethical degradation.”

In his speech, delivered in the form of a prayer to the Virgin Mary, he listed other social ills. Among them, the pope cited “indifference that says ‘it’s not my problem,’ civic rudeness scorning the common good, fear of what is different and of the foreigner.”

He also recalled the struggle of those who “emigrated here from lands of war and hunger.””

“Yemeni officials say Saudi-led coalition airstrikes have killed at least 23 civilians, including women and children, in the country’s north.

Abdel Elah al-Ezi, head of the health directorate in the northern city of Saada, said Friday’s airstrikes were carried out in different areas of the city. Saada is a stronghold of the Iran-backed Shiite rebels, known as Houthis.

The rebel-run Sabaa news agency reported the strikes, as did tribal officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, fearing reprisals.

  21. Philippine military wants martial law extended in south (abcnews, Dec 8, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/philippine-military-martial-law-extended-south-51665818

“The Philippine military and police have asked the president to extend martial law he declared in the country’s south by a year because of continuing threats from pro-Islamic State group militants and communist guerrillas, officials said Friday.

Interior Undersecretary Catalino Cuy said the national police want President Rodrigo Duterte to extend martial law, which expires on Dec. 31, to allow them to continue offensives against Muslim militants who eluded capture during a five-month siege of southern Marawi city and against other extremist groups.

Military spokesman Maj. Gen. Restituto Padilla said the military has made a similar recommendation to Duterte so it can press efforts against Muslim extremists and communist New People’s Army guerrillas, whose attacks have affected businesses and the economy.

Duterte imposed martial law in May to deal with the Marawi siege, which troops quelled in October. Left-wing groups have protested martial law because of human rights concerns, but the Supreme Court has upheld its legality.

“We have not contained all the threat groups,” Cuy said by telephone. “They’re still there.”

Martial law will help the government and troops rebuild Marawi faster, he said.

The Marawi siege left more than 1,100 combatants and civilians dead, including more than 900 Filipino and foreign militants. The violence displaced about half a million people and turned mosque-studded Marawi’s central business and residential districts into a smoldering war zone.

The militant uprising that began on May 23 prompted Duterte to declare martial law across the southern Mindanao region and reinforced fears that the Islamic State group was taking steps to gain a foothold in Asia and elsewhere as it faced major battle setbacks in Syria and Iraq.

Although several militant leaders were killed in the intense fighting in Marawi, some gunmen and commanders managed to escape, Padilla said.

“Although they have significantly been degraded in terms of capability and manpower, those who survived that siege still remain at large and are attempting to recover by recruiting other members of the society, particularly the vulnerable sector of our population,” Padilla told reporters. “We still need the cover of martial law to address that bigger threat that they pose in other areas.”

Communist guerrilla attacks have increased considerably, with the estimated damage to government and business, including burned construction equipment, rising by 2,000 percent to about 2.4 billion pesos ($47 million) this year, Padilla said.

Duterte has called off peace talks with the Maoist rebels to protest their deadly attacks on government forces and moved to designate them as terrorists under the law. He indicated, however, that he is still open to a resumption of the talks if the communist insurgents stop their assaults. “Let’s give time for a cooling off with the Communist Party of the Philippines,” Duterte said in a speech on Friday.

Duterte and his aides have not said if he will extend martial law, but he has strongly argued the need for it to prevent attacks and contain the movement of militants in the south, the scene of decades-long Muslim rebellions in the largely Roman Catholic nation.”

Hamas has announced that President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel has opened the “gates of hell.” Its Muslim Brotherhood parent has declared America an “enemy state.”

The Arab League boss warned that the Jerusalem move “will fuel extremism and result in violence.” The Jordanian Foreign Minister claimed that it would “trigger anger” and “fuel tension.”

“Moderate” Muslim leaders excel at threatening violence on behalf of the “extremists”.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) warned that recognizing Jerusalem will trigger an Islamic summit and be considered a “blatant attack on the Arab and Islamic nations.”

The last time the OIC was this mad, someone drew Mohammed. And wasn’t stoned to death for it.

According to the Saudi ambassador, it will “heighten tensions”. The Deputy Prime Minister of Islamist Turkey called it a “major catastrophe”. And the leader of the largest Muslim country in Europe, France’s Emmanuel Macron “expressed concern” that America will “unilaterally recognize Jerusalem

    • It’s not about a “piece of land here or there”, as the PA’s top Sharia judge clarifies, it’s a religious war. And Israel is not just a religious war between Muslims and Jews, but a shifting frontier in the larger war between Islam and the rest of the world. It’s another territory to be conquered on the way to Europe. And Europe is another territory to be conquered on the way to America.

There can be no peace in a religious war. Nor is there anything to negotiate.

Richard: The paragraphs above tells the truth and nothing but the truth about the war, I wish more people would read the article and understand that the Moslems really stand for.

  23. Orban: In the end, the majority will follow our views

The current debate in the European Union pertains to freedom and to the question of whether all countries should be “obligated to become an immigration country”, or they can retain the sovereignty “to say no to that future”, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in an interview broadcast on commercial Echo Tv on Thursday night.

Commenting on a hearing by the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) in Brussels, Orban said that Hungary has cleared up all debated issues regarding democracy before 2013 with the European Union. Hungary has “no debate on democracy”, while the European Parliament (EP) uses it as an excuse to attack the country, he said.

The EP is the “politically most motivated” part of the “Brussels machinery”, Orban said. If something happening in Hungary harms the interests of great powers, companies or people, the EP will be the first “to leap to attack our country”, he added.

Commenting on the three infringement procedures being turned over to the Court of Justice of the European Union, Orban said that these are issues to be taken seriously, and Hungary should present its arguments convincingly. He insisted that the issues “of the university (CEU), the pseudo-NGOs and the quota scheme” all lead to US financier George Soros, “whose problems in turn lead to the issue of immigration”. The CEU is Soros’s university, he funds and directs the NGOs, and migration is part of his plan, he said.

Orban showed a document in the interview, saying it was Soros’s six-point plan under which Europe should be turned into a mixed culture. The Hungarian government fights against “a very real plan”, he said.

There is an ever growing gap between what western European people think of immigration and their leaders’ actions, Orban said. This gap “could only grow up to a certain point” and then the people will “sack their leaders”, he warned. “In the end, the majority will follow our views”, he added.

Hungary should learn from the errors of the West, Orban said. Mixing cultures will not lead to a higher quality of life but to a lower one. This should be forestalled while there is still time, he said.

Many of those purporting migration “believe truly” that mixing cultures is the path to the development of mankind. This might be inspirational, “but it is against common sense”, he said. Accepting people from very remote cultures among us does not lead to a beautiful life, but to parallel societies. We would import hatred, anti-Semitism, the end of the equality of women and of freedom of religion, he said.

  24. State Dept still won’t allow US citizens born in Jerusalem to record Israel as place of birth

Americans born in Jerusalem will still not be able to list “Israel” as their birthplace on passports despite President Trump’s move to recognize the city as the Israeli capital.

“At this time, there are no changes to our current practices regarding place of birth on Consular Reports of Birth Abroad and U.S. Passports,” the State Department told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The department policy currently states that American citizens born in Jerusalem can only list the city on their passport as opposed to listing Israel as well, according to the AP.
American citizens born in Jerusalem prior to 1948 are able to list Palestine as the place of their birth.

  25. EU vows push to make Jerusalem capital for Palestinians too

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The EU’s top diplomat pledged on Thursday to reinvigorate diplomacy with Russia, the United States, Jordan and others to ensure Palestinians have a capital in Jerusalem after U.S. President Donald Trump recognized the city as Israel’s capital.

The European Union, a member of the Middle East Quartet along with the United States, the United Nations and Russia, believes it has a duty to make its voice heard as the Palestinians’ biggest aid donor and Israel’s top trade partner.

“The European Union has a clear and united position. We believe the only realistic solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine is based on two states and with Jerusalem as the capital of both,” EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini told a news conference.

  26. TRUMP’S GREAT AND INGENIOUS GIFTS
President Trump gives a Hanukka gift to the Jewish people and a Christmas gift to the American people.
    December 8, 2017
    Caroline Glick

Trump’s gift to Israel is not merely that 68 years after Israel declared Jerusalem its capital, the US finally recognized Israel’s capital.

In his declaration, Trump said, “Israel has made its capital in the city of Jerusalem, the capital the Jewish people established in ancient times.”

By stating this simple truth, Trump fully rejected the anti-Israel legacy of his predecessor Barack Obama.

In his speech in Cairo in 2009, Obama intimated that Israel’s legitimacy is rooted in the Holocaust, rather than in the Jewish nation’s millennial attachment to the Land of Israel. Whereas the Balfour Declaration and the League of Nations Mandate rooted the Jewish people’s sovereign rights to the Land of Israel in its 3,500-year relationship with it, Obama said that Israel is nothing more than a refugee camp located in an inconvenient area. In so doing, he gave credence to the anti-Israel slander that Israel is a colonialist power

  27. Trump Attacked for Not Inviting Anti-Israel Activists to Hanukkah Party
Also the KKK wasn’t invited to the Civil Rights Museum opening.

President Trump is being attacked by the New York Times for not inviting opponents of the Jewish State to the Hanukkah party at the White House.

“Officials from J Street, a progressive pro-Israel group that strongly backed Mr. Obama and the nuclear deal he forged with Iran — which was detested by many conservative Jews — were excluded,” the New York Times complains.

Also the KKK wasn’t invited to the Civil Rights Museum opening.

J Street has repeatedly urged a deal with Hamas. It’s just as out of place at a Chanukah party as Hamas would be. The Times also complains that Rick Jacobs wasn’t invited. Right after Jacobs became one of the few leaders to attack President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem.

Chanukah celebrates the liberation of Jerusalem and the Temple. You know, the place that Rick Jacobs and J Street would like to see taken away from Jews and turned over to Islamic terrorists.

  29. Donald Trump’s Art of the Insult
New film shows how pushing back hard helped Trump win the presidency.
    December 8, 2017
    Lloyd Billingsley

“You speak your mind,” says Megyn Kelly in the early going. As Joel Gilbert’s new film Trump: The Art of the Insult confirms, Donald Trump does indeed speak his mind. His greatest hits are all here, from the “fat ugly face” of Rosie O’Donnell, to “Lyin’ Ted” Cruz, “total dope” Lindsey Graham, “idiot” John Kerry, to “Crooked Hillary” Clinton and of course “fake news.”

In The Art of the Insult, candidate Trump says he would “bomb the shit out of ISIS” and that the San Bernardino shooter was a “son of a bitch,” and that Mexico would pay for the wall. Someone who speaks his mind like that, even a casual observer might think, would stand no chance of becoming President of the United States. To give away the ending, he did become president and the film helps explain the victory.

In the early going, some journalist wonders why Trump has to fire back every time someone goes after him. He was one of the first to push back hard because, as he said, “the last thing I want to be called is weak.” The aggressive candidate found a target-rich environment in both political parties.

The “Never Trump” Republicans got after him for not being a conservative, and Jeb Bush called him “a jerk.” Trump fired back that Jeb Bush was a “low energy person” and “a stiff,” who doesn’t use last name because there are “lots of problems with that name.”

“Five al-Qaida operatives were killed in US airstrikes in Yemen, announced the US military on Friday.

The strikes that were carried out on November 20, targeted the central Bayda province.

The Central Command said those killed included Mujahid al-Adani, an al-Qaida leader in the neighboring province of Shabwa.

Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has long been seen by US officials as the most dangerous offshoot of the global network founded by Osama bin Laden.

“Al-Adani maintained a significant influence within AQAP as well as close ties to other AQAP senior leaders,” added the Central Command.”

  32. U.S. has begun fully implementing Trump travel ban – State Department (reuters, Dec 8, 2017)
    https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-usa-immigration-ban/u-s-has-begun-fully-implementing-trump-travel-ban-state-department-idUKKBN1E22CP

“The U.S. State Department said it began fully implementing President Donald Trump’s travel ban targeting six Muslim-majority countries on Friday, four days after the Supreme Court ruled the order could be enforced while legal appeals continue.

Trump’s order, which calls for “enhancing vetting capabilities” at U.S. embassies and consulates overseas, directs the departments of State and Homeland Security to restrict the entry of people from six Muslim-majority countries – Chad, Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia and Yemen – as well as from Venezuela and North Korea.

The State Department said in a statement on Friday that no visas would be revoked under the new vetting procedures. It said the restrictions were not intended to be permanent and could be lifted as “countries work with the U.S. government to ensure the safety of Americans.”

Trump promised as a candidate to impose “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” and his effort to implement a travel ban has run into repeated legal challenges since he first announced it a week after taking office.

The current ban is the third version from the administration. Lower courts allowed the provisions covering North Korea and Venezuela to go into effect.

Challenges continue for the six predominantly Muslim countries, charging that the ban discriminates on the basis of religion in violation of the U.S. Constitution and is not permissible under immigration laws.

The Supreme Court on Monday granted the administration’s request to lift two injunctions that partially blocked the ban. The decision allows the restrictions to go into force, even as legal challenges continue in lower courts. Two liberal justices dissented.”

To climate change fanatics, polar bears are the eye candy for the worldwide call for action on global warming. There have been news reports about the sad shape they are in, with their coats going brown, their food supplies drying up, and their ice floes melting. Conclusion: The bears are set to starve.

Welp, turns out there are too many of them now.

Inuit observations of polar bear ecology: “Last year he said that there’s more bears that are more fat … they rarely see unhealthy bears… back in early 80s, and mid 90s, there were hardly any bears … there’s too many polar bears now.”

So, instead of furtive bears withering away on ice floes and starving due to loss of habitat, rising sea levels or whatever the global warmers claim, what we actually have here is a bear explosion, with bears so well fed that they’ve gotten fat.

It’s more than just anecdotal – the bear populations are exploding everywhere.

  34. The court said that an official document read to judges over the telephone by the father gave Hussein K.’s date of birth as January 29, 1984, meaning that he would have been 32 years old at the time of the crime, and not 17 as he stated when arrested.

    ================================================

Freiburg student murder case defendant could be much older than he says: court

A German court says new evidence suggests a man accused of raping and killing a Freiburg student last year may have blatantly lied about his age. The information could affect the severity of his punishment.

A court in the southern German city of Freiburg said on Friday that a refugee, Hussein K., who is being tried for the rape and murder of a 19-year-old female student in October last year, has possibly grossly understated his age — and lied about his own father’s death.

Hussein K. has said that his father had been killed in Afghanistan while fighting the Taliban — a claim now belied by the fact that German authorities managed to contact the latter in Iran using a telephone number stored in the confiscated cellphone belonging to the accused.

The court said that an official document read to judges over the telephone by the father gave Hussein K.’s date of birth as January 29, 1984, meaning that he would have been 32 years old at the time of the crime, and not 17 as he stated when arrested.

    Uncertainties remain

If confirmed, the new information could lead to the defendant, who is currently being tried under juvenile law, being classed as a mature adult. This could also have a bearing on the severity of his sentence, which is scheduled to be handed down next spring.

Under German law, adults between the age of 18 and 21 can still be tried under juvenile law under some circumstances.

The presiding judge at the trial, Kathrin Schenk, said there were still uncertainties regarding the father’s statement, with the interpreter who conducted the phone call saying that the date of birth may have been given according to the Persian calendar. Schenk also said that the father, who said he was illiterate, may not have understood his right under German law to remain silent in a case affecting a near relation.

    Prior crime

Hussein K., who originally claimed to have been an Afghan minor when he came to Germany as a refugee in November 2015, has admitted to raping the medical student, identified as Maria L., and strangling her into unconsciousness. The woman then drowned in the Dreisam river, which flows through Freiburg, a major university town.

Before coming to Germany, he had been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment in Greece for assaulting a young woman on the island of Corfu but was released on parole in October 2015.

The case triggered a heated debate on Germany’s refugee policy. Among other things, questions were asked as to why authorities had not taken steps to ascertain Hussein K.’s true age and why police had not tracked him to Germany.

It also sent a wave of shock through Freiburg, which has a reputation for being a safe and welcoming city.

  35. reuters – Mueller turns over evidence for ex-Trump campaign manager Manafort’s trial

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller has turned over more than 400,000 emails, financial records and other documents to defense attorneys for President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort to demonstrate what evidence the government has against him, according to a court filing on Friday.

The documents, part of the discovery process ahead of a criminal trial next year, offer insight into how much evidence Mueller already has amassed regarding Manafort and his business associate, Rick Gates.

According to Friday’s filing, Mueller’s team of prosecutors has collected more than 400,000 items and another 2,000 so-called “hot” documents, or those that contain potentially crucial evidence.

They have imaged copies of 36 electronic devices such as laptops, telephones and thumb drives, and copies of 15 search or seizure warrants.

The documents also include foreign bank account records from Cyprus and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, locations that have previously been identified by the U.S. State Department as vulnerable to money laundering and other financial crimes.

In addition, prosecutors turned over documents from Manafort’s tax preparer deemed “particularly relevant,” deposition testimony given by the defendants “in another matter,” which was not specified, and imaged copies of 27 electronic devices that were seized when the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided Manafort’s Virginia home earlier this year.

By law, the government is required to turn over all of the evidence it has amassed so a defendant can prepare and have a fair trial.

Mueller’s team also indicated in Friday’s filing that it had turned over information that may be helpful to Manafort’s defense and potentially impeach one of the government’s witnesses.

Such information, known as “Brady” material, is also required by law to be turned over by the government. The filing did not specify what kind of information was contained in its Brady disclosure to Manafort’s attorneys.

A spokesman for Manafort declined to comment on Friday’s court filing.

Both Manafort and Gates are due to appear Monday morning at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia for a previously scheduled status conference.

At that hearing, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson might set a trial date, and also resolve a dispute between the government and the defendants over the terms of their bail.

Friday’s filing offered a window into how wide a net Mueller is casting, as he investigates accusations of Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign.

Russia has denied any meddling and Trump has dismissed any suggestions of collusion.

A federal grand jury indicted Manafort and Gates in October as part of Mueller’s investigation.

The charges against Manafort include conspiracy to launder money and failing to register as a foreign agent working on behalf of former pro-Russian Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, who was ousted in 2014.

All the documents will be kept confidential under a protective order.

  36. If the US wants to invade North Korea we won’t need any help, we will take it if offered but don’t need it.

North Korea Says U.S. Declared War and Is Trying to Invade With Help From South and JapanNorth Korea said Friday that President Donald Trump has effectively declared war on supreme leader Kim Jong Un’s government by gathering the U.S.’s Pacific allies to surround the Korean Peninsula and restrict trade.

The official Korean Central News Agency published an article lashing out at Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s recent suggestion that the U.S. had the “right to interdict maritime traffic transporting goods” in response to North Korea’s latest and most far-reaching intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch late last month. The article’s author, named as Jong Hyon, claimed the U.S. planned to summon its South Korean and Japanese allies to block North Korean ships from traveling across the country’s southern and eastern seas, while the U.S. Navy stationed itself south of South Korea’s Jeju Island.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/north-korea-says-u-declared-201458284.html

    • As I said above, we (the US) don’ t need help to invade and conquer, but since South Korea wants to rescue their relatives in the north from the slavery Kim is forcing them into why turn down any help they are willing to give.

    • Beware, North Korea: The Air Force is Preparing the F-22 for ‘War’

Another part of the weapons upgrade includes engineering the F-22 to fire the AIM-120D, a beyond visual range Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM), designed for all weather day-and-night attacks; it is a “fire and forget” missile with active transmit radar guidance, Raytheon data states. The AIM-120D is built with upgrades to previous AMRAAM missiles by increasing attack range, GPS navigation, inertial measurment units and a two-way data link, Raytheon statements explain.

The Air Force is now conducting operational tests of new software and weapons technology for the F-22 designed to help modernize the stealth fighter and expand the range of weapons it is able to fire in combat, service and industry officials said.

      • There are less than 200 F-22s in inventory are there is no production line to add more. Yeah, maybe it can predict possible threats based on known threats along it’s flight path but that’s the beauty of the mobile Russian SAM systems. They can be moved and hidden at will, so you can be surprised at any point. Low probability of intercept radar used for Russian missiles means a Big Question mark for the attacking aircraft assessing RF emissions along it’s path. War is a messy business and the North Koreans have one of the highest IQ peoples on earth.

        • They are some of the shortest though. Maybe we should settle this on the basketball court.

        • Pessimist, what I am putting my hopes on is a conversation with a man who wouldn’t say any more then “we have weapons in inventory that are straight out of SF books.” The only other thing he would say is that even if half don’t work those that do will protect the US.

Yes he was in a position to know before he retired.

          • Another thing about net-centric warfare is that it works for the opposing forces as well. Russian and PRC Air Defense can use unjammable fiber optic links to create a defense network and incorporate other non-localised sensors.

            “Surveillance Systems

Starting from the vintage 1950’s radars in service, China slowly improved its surveillance capability for most of the second half of the 20th century. It initially reverse engineered and then improved upon radars such as the Soviet P-12 Spoon Rest, as well as developing some unique indigenous ones such as the YJ-14 Great Wall.

During the 1990s, China initiated the development of a number of highly mobile and survivable AD radars, for use by both the national AD network as well PLA Ground Force (PLAGF) formations. Some of these, like the JL-3D, are technologically similar to those currently used by US, EU and Russian air defences. While China has procured and inducted Russian surface to air missile (SAM) systems, the primary search radars used by its IADS have been mostly designed and developed by China itself.

Another area of focus has been passive detection systems (PDS). The CETC DWL002 emitter locator system is an example of the same. Based on the Tamara series, it has the capability to locate targets three dimensions (3D), unlike the mostly 2D PDSs in service today. Incidentally, CETC DWL002 is also highly mobile and difficult to locate.

To showcase its ability to detect stealth aircraft, China has also showed off two anti-stealth radars at Zhuhai, in the past. One of these is the JY-27A 3-D long-range surveillance/guidance radar, which operates in the very high frequency (VHF) band and is actually the Chinese military’s first active-phased array radar. Unverified claims state that the radar can pick up hostile stealth fighters at ranges of up to 500 km. The second anti-stealth radar is the JY-26 Skywatcher-U which operates in both VHF and Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) bands and has a claimed range of 500 km as well. Some media reports have even suggested that China now has the ability to track American F-22 Raptors flying over South Korea.

A ‘Quantum radar’ is also reported to have been developed by China which will further enhance its anti-stealth surveillance capability. The details of this ‘quantum radar’ are still sketchy.

For the purpose of anti-ballistic missile (ABM) defence , China has developed a long-range early warning radar system, similar to the US PAVE PAWS, capable of detecting targets up to 5,500 kilometers away. Examples of this system are not just established at a space monitoring station in Heilongjiang province in the northeast region, but also in Xinjiang in China’s northwest and Fujian in the southeast.

In recent years, China has also managed to build one of the more advanced airborne surveillance capabilities in the world. Its KJ-500 AEW&C aircraft, based on Y-9 aircraft, carries new generation three sided fixed active electronically scanned array (AESA) Radars to provide continuous 360º radar coverage. This system is is considered more advanced than the Russian A-50 and US E-3C Sentry AWACS, by some.

China also has the KJ-200, which uses electronically steered active phased array radar technology that’s a couple of generations ahead of the legacy mechanically steered arrays.

Then there is the much larger KJ-2000 AWACS, which also uses an AESA primary radar and is directly modeled on Israel’s A-50I and Elta Phalcon radar. Some sources claim, that this radar operates in the same frequencies as Elta’s Phalcon, despite the fact that the US had halted the sale of the same to China by Israel.

All these various surveillance elements have been integrated into an ‘air intelligence radar network’ using fixed high speed fibre-optic links that provide interconnections that are immune to electronic intelligence intercepts and radio frequency jamming. Moreover, all mobile radars and missile batteries have been connected through indigenous TS-504 mobile tropo-scatter communications terminals.

            Surface-to-Air Missiles

The PLA is equipped with a mixture of indigenous, Russian, and Western SAM systems for both regional and field AD roles. The upgradation of Chinese SAM systems was initially dependent on imports from Russia. Till date, Russia has delivered 160 S-300 PMU and S-300 PMU-1 and -2 launchers with their attendant radars, munitions, and support equipment.

By the mid-2000s, China had reversed-engineered Russian and Western technologies and incorporated elements of both the S-300 and Patriot batteries into its HQ-9 system, which has a range of approximately 200 km. Around the same time, PLA introduced the 50-km-range HQ-12 SAM. The new generation SAMs are more mobile and incorporate jamming-resistant technology. Since developing the HQ-9, China has stopped acquiring more S-300 units from Russia. It however purchased six battalions of Russia’s newest and most advanced long-range self-propelled SAM system, the S-400 Triumf. The S-400 reportedly includes an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar and can target aircraft, cruise missiles, as well as tactical and ballistic missiles at ranges of up to 400 km

Even as it brings in the S-400, China’s own indigenous systems are now becoming competitive with the best in the world. Besides the HQ-9, the new HQ-22 is an all-weather medium-long range air defense weapon system that can engage 3rd generation fighters, armed helicopter and medium and high altitude unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), besides other aerodynamic targets. It is also mobile and has very good electronic counter counter measures (ECCM), HQ-22 can engage targets out to a range of 150-170 km and flying at altitudes from 50 to 27,000 metres.
