Self-proclaimed Imam ‘said it was OK to EAT non-Muslims as he groomed followers’ (express, Nov 10, 2017)
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/877696/muslim-imam-groom-followers-france-terror
“A SELF-PROCLAIMED imam linked to a terror attack investigation told his followers it was “OK” to eat non-Muslims, it has been alleged.
The man, who was not recognised as an imam in the Muslim faith, was one of 10 people arrested in France and Switzerland suspected of plotting a terror attack in France.
The arrested group, aged between 18 and 65, used encrypted messaging app Telegram to plan the alleged attack, an unnamed French judicial source said.
The 27-year-old imam, who was among the nine people arrested in France, is a Swiss national who converted to Islam three years ago, Swiss prosecutors said.
He had given himself the title of “emir,” and is believed to have “indoctrinated” the younger members of the Telegram chat group, of which he was the administrator.
The self-styled imam posed as an expert in Islam and made his online followers believe he had extensive knowledge and command of the Koran according to Europe 1 radio.
Europe 1 journalists who were able to read some of the Telegram messages sent by the imam, who went by the alias ‘Al-Bosni’, added he had told the members of the chat group that it was “OK to eat non-believers” if “absolutely necessary”.
Most of the suspects – including the imam – were known to police and had been flagged over their alleged radicalisation and links to radical extremist groups.
French interior minister Gérard Collomb said on Wednesday the suspects – who were all placed under covert surveillance last month – had been planning an imminent attack, but stressed the group had no “clear or certain target”…”

“The Taliban insurgents suffered casualties in the latest attack of the loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
According to the local officials, the ISIS militants launched an attack on Taliban insurgents in Mullah Village of Chaparhar district late on Tuesday night.
The officials further added that the attack erupted an infighting that left at least three Taliban insurgents dead and three others wounded.
In the meantime, the provincial government media office in a statement said a member of the ISIS terrorist group was killed in an airstrike conducted in Haska Mina district late on Tuesday night.
At least one ISIS member was also wounded in the air raid which was conducted in Payin area of the district.
On the other hand, a clash broke out between the Taliban insurgents and Afghan forces in Bati Kot district on Tuesday which resulted into the killing of a Taliban local leader while another Taliban member was wounded.
This comes as Afghan security forces are busy conducting counter-terrorism operations against the IS and other insurgent groups in this province.
The US forces based in Afghanistan also support the Afghan forces in their fight against the terrorist groups and often carry out airstrikes to suppress the insurgency of the terror groups.
The increased raids by the Afghan and US forces followed rampant activities by the IS and other groups to expand their insurgency in this key eastern province.”

C-Span this AM took a phonecall from Anthony, a self-described citizen-journalist from _Crowdsource the Truth_. The caller said that his group had visited the two homes that had as a landllord the computer analyst Imran what? , the one who had violated House security. He says that the tenants at one home showed his group a garage with air-conditioned (computer) servers and more than one router, which were owned and maintained by the landlord. He also said the the tenants at the other home showed him other computers that the owner had destroyed and left. The caller’s point was that no other news investigator had looked or tried to find evidence of espionage.

Egypt’s IS affiliate kills 10 people in Sinai convoy attack (abcnews, Nov 10, 2017)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/egypts-affiliate-kills-10-people-sinai-convoy-attack-51057371
“Militants from an Islamic State affiliate ambushed a convoy of cement trucks late Thursday from an army factory in the central Sinai Peninsula, killing eight civilian employees and two soldiers, security officials said.
Lt. Col. Ibrahim Hussein Mohammed was killed in the nighttime attack near the town of Nakhl, the officials added. The militants, from the group formerly known as Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, stole the men’s weapons and burnt seven trucks.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to reporters. IS did not immediately claim responsibility for the attack.
Security forces have been battling militants in northern Sinai for years in an insurgency that picked up after the 2013 military ouster of an elected but divisive Islamist president.
Egypt is also facing a growing number of attacks by militants in its Western Desert, the latest of which killed 16 policemen according to an official tally issued by the Interior Ministry. Security officials, however, have told journalists that dozens more, including high-ranking counterterrorism officers, perished in the Oct. 20 attack some 135 kilometers (84 miles) southwest of the capital, Cairo.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi says IS militants are making their way to his country via Libya after the defeat of the extremist group in Syria and Iraq.
The regional turmoil has forced Egypt to build up its military in recent years according to the general-turned-president, who has spent more than $10 billion since 2014 on a wide array of weaponry, including French-made Rafale fighter jets and helicopter carriers, MiG-29 fighter jets and assault helicopters from Russia, and submarines from Germany.
Most of the attacks in Sinai take place in a contested northeastern corner of the peninsula near the Gaza Strip. But army and police raids deeper into the area’s central mountains have sparked violence and militant attacks further south.”
France still hunting for suspects in 2015 Paris attacks (abcnews, Nov 10, 2017)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/france-hunting-suspects-2015-paris-attacks-51057336
“France is still hunting for suspects in the 2015 attacks that killed 130 people around Paris and that “zones of mystery” remain about the Islamic State group cell that carried them out, France’s top counterterrorism prosecutor said Friday.
Francois Molins told broadcaster Francetvinfo that in addition to the 13 dead attackers, 13 suspects have been identified in France, Belgium and Turkey.
Molins also warned of a surge in isolated attacks and said authorities were continuing to thwart attempted violence, including in an operation this week that led to 10 arrests in France and Switzerland.
With IS extremists on the retreat in Syria and Iraq, Molins warned against “naivete” toward French fighters and their families hoping to return. He estimated 690 fighters remained abroad.
Most of those trying to return are the wives or widows of fighters plus their children, but Molins was skeptical of their motives.
“We are facing people who are more disappointed than repentant,” he said.”
Report: IS leader may be in eastern Syrian city of Boukamal (abcnews, Nov 10, 2017)

“A media outlet linked to the Syrian military says the Islamic State group’s leader may be holed up in an IS pocket in the eastern town of Boukamal, which government forces and their allies recaptured this week.
The Syrian Central Military Media says that, as Syrian troops and their allies conducted search operations in Boukamal, they “got the information” that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi might be “in one of the pockets” in the town. The report on Friday did not elaborate on how the soldiers heard about al-Baghdadi or what they were doing about the information.
Boukamal, IS’ last major stronghold in Syria, was taken on Thursday.
Rami Abdurrahman, who heads the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group, says he doesn’t have such a report on al-Baghdadi’s whereabouts.”

Australia predicts conflict between asylum seekers, police (abcnews, Nov 10, 2017)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/australia-predicts-conflict-asylum-seekers-police-51055291
“An Australian minister on Friday predicted a conflict between Papua New Guinea police and hundreds of asylum seekers who have refused to leave a decommissioned immigration camp where many hold out hope of resettling in the United States.
The camp inside a Manus Island navy base was declared closed on Oct. 31 based on the Papua New Guinea Supreme Court’s ruling last year that Australia’s policy of housing asylum seekers there was unconstitutional. But the men who have stayed at the male-only camp fear for their safety in the alternative shelters available in the nearby town of Lorengau because of threats from local residents
Australian Immigration and Border Protection Minister Peter Dutton said he was discussing with the Papua New Guinea authorities what steps would be taken if the asylum seekers stay on without power or running water.
“Our very strong preference is that people move of their own accord,” Dutton told Melbourne Radio 3AW.
“We’ve got a group of core agitators, organizers, who will try and provide some sort of scene where there is a confrontation with police. They’ll do that because they want that footage broadcast back here,” Dutton added.
The Australian activist group GetUp! released video on Friday of the squalid conditions on Manus. Dutton accused the asylum seekers of “trashing the place.”
Local authorities posted a notice at the camp on Thursday, saying: “You are … instructed to vacate this compound immediately.”
“If necessary, force may be used to relocate those who refuse to move voluntarily for your own sake,” the notice added.
Iranian refugee Behrouz Boochani said the use of force was unacceptable.
“We are not doing anything wrong. We are only resisting peacefully,” Boochani said. “We are asking again for freedom in a safe third country,” he added.
Papua New Guinea police said buses and trucks had been brought to Manus on Friday to relocate the asylum seekers.
Manus Provincial Police Commander Chief Inspector David Yapu said police were mindful that the transfers would be conducted “smoothly and orderly without use of force.”
Asylum seekers reported police and immigration officers had entered the camp on Friday and began emptying the tanks and turning over the water bins being used to collect the rain water that has sustained the inhabitants for the past 10 days.
“They said it’s an Order from ABF,” asylum seeker Walid Zazai tweeted, referring to the Australian Border Force. “Thank you Australia,” Zazai added.
The Papua New Guinea Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected an application to restore basic services on Manus on human rights grounds.
Ian Rintoul, spokesperson for the Australia-based Refugee Action Coalition, called on Australia to “end the siege and restore food, water and services.”
“Everyone in the tropics knows how precious water is and how quickly dehydration can become a serious medical issue. Denied water and with medical help sometimes delayed for hours, refugee lives are being put at risk,” Rintoul said.
Dutton said more than 100 of the 606 men in the center on Oct. 31 had since left.
The United States has agreed to resettle up to 1,250 refugees that Australia keeps on Papua New Guinea and the Pacific island nation of Nauru.
But so far only 54 have been accepted after a screening process that President Donald Trump describes as extreme vetting.
The United Nations Human Rights Committee on Friday criticized Australia for allowing the Manus camp to close “without adequate arrangements for long-term viable relocation solutions for all refugees and asylum-seekers.”
The committee found conditions in the facilities in Papua New Guinea and Nauru included inadequate mental health services, serious safety concerns and instances of assault, sexual abuse, self-harm and suspicious deaths. The harsh conditions compelled some asylum seekers to return to their homelands despite the risks that they face there, it said.
Australia will not settle any refugees who try to arrive by boat — a policy that the government says dissuades asylum seekers from attempting the dangerous ocean crossing from Indonesia. Australia has also prevented boats from reaching Australia since July 2014 by using the Australian navy to turn boats back.”

Man Who Came to Aid of Underage Girl Attacked in Berlin ‘No-Go Zone’ (breitbart, Nov 10, 2017)
http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/11/10/man-came-aid-underage-girl-attacked-berlin-no-go-area/
“A 20-year-old man was severely beaten by a group of seven young men in Berlin’s troubled Alexanderplatz area after he tried to defend a 14-year-old girl from harassment.
On Wednesday evening, the 20-year-old noticed an 18-year-old attempting to get the number of a 14-year-old girl in the vicinity of the Alexanderplatz metro. When the man saw the young girl wanted nothing to do with the 18-year-old he intervened, but was set upon by the teen and six of his friends who beat him, Die Welt reports.
The gang fled the scene but two of them, both under 18, were arrested at the nearby metro station. The 20-year-old was taken to hospital but was discharged with only minor injuries.
The violent incident is just the latest at Alexanderplatz, which some have said is turning into a no-go zone due to the frequent violence and high level of crime from primarily migrant youth gangs.
Over the weekend, there were a number of other violent incidents in the area including a brawl between two groups of young men. Police who arrived on the scene were attacked by several of the “youths” including being sprayed with pepper spray.
Authorities arrested several teens and one boy aged only 11 who also participated in the violence.
Last month, there were two knife attacks in the area, one of which involved several older teens attack a 14-year-old boy who was stabbed in the arm, following an argument, and had to be taken to hospital. Three teens were arrested by police in connection with the assault.
While no-go zones in places like the suburbs of Paris and the suburbs of Swedish cities like Stockholm and Gothenburg have existed for years, no-go zones in Germany are relatively new phenomena.
Only this year have members so the German press used the term in their publications. Last month, Die Welt referred to a troubled area in Cologne as a “no-go zone“, though authorities in the country have warned for months of the emergence of areas where German laws are hardly enforced.”

SUPERHUMANS: Chips inserted in brains will give us MIND-BLOWING abilities within years
SUPER HUMANS could exist in just 15 years thanks to a computer chip inserted into the brain to unlock the mankind’s full potential.
People will be able to buy new memories and delete unwanted ones in the near future as experts believe they are close to biohacking the body’s most powerful tool, according to a leading technology entrepreneur.
Speaking at Lisbon’s Web Summit, Bryan Johnson, the founder of Kernel – a start-up researching the possibilities of microchips being inserted on the brain – says unlocking the true potential of the mind is the “single greatest thing” humanity can achieve.
Kernel’s first step is to design chips that can help fight disease, but then it hopes to evolve the brain to offer superhuman abilities.
The firm’s website reads: “To further explore our own human boundaries, a wave of new technologies needs to emerge that can access, read, and write from the most powerful tool we have — the human brain.

Don’t you need super humans to preprogram the superhuman chip? Leftards are not too bright.
No you just need a leftard to program the chip to make people into perfect leftards which they will call superhuman.
Monopoly critics decry ‘Amazon amendment
Lawmakers put the finishing touches this week on military funding legislation that contains a provision that stands to significantly benefit Amazon.
The amendment, Section 801 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), would help Amazon establish a tight grip on the lucrative, $53 billion government acquisitions market, experts say.
The provision, dubbed the “Amazon amendment” by experts, according to an article in The Intercept, would allow for the creation of an online portal that government employees could use to purchase everyday items such as office supplies or furniture.

Air Force Pilot Shortage Grows to Nearly 2,000; Force Tension ‘Significant’
ARLINGTON, Va. — The secretary of Air Force said that, after weathering a 1,500-pilot shortfall last summer, the problem has escalated to being 1,926 pilots short — or missing 1 in 10 of a force that’s supposed to have 20,000 pilots.
Secretary Heather Wilson told Pentagon reporters today that “it’s not just pilots, though, and air crew, when it comes to readiness.”
“It is spare parts and flying hours and munitions,” she noted. “So increasing the readiness of the force so that we win any fight, any time, is our top priority.”
The biggest reason for the pilot shortage, in the secretary’s view, “is that we are too small for all the missions that we’re being asked to carry out on behalf of the nation — and as a result, we’re burning out our people.”

Homeland Security bulletin warns of weaponized drones and threat to aviation
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued an updated terror bulletin on Thursday highlighting the threat of weaponized drones, chemical attacks and the continued targeting of commercial aircraft.
“We continue to face one of the most challenging threat environments since 9/11, as foreign terrorist organizations exploit the internet to inspire, enable or direct individuals already here in the homeland to commit terrorist acts,” reads the bulletin.
The National Terrorism Advisory System bulletin, which replaced the old color-coded system, is used to give the public and local law enforcement a summary about ongoing and potentially new terror threats.
“The current bulletin introduces unmanned aircraft systems as potential threats and highlights sustained concern regarding threats against commercial aviation and air cargo,” said DHS acting press secretary Tyler Houlton in a s

Saudi Arabia Orders Its Citizens Out of Lebanon, Raising Fears of War
By ANNE BARNARDNOV. 9, 2017
BEIRUT, Lebanon — Saudi Arabia ordered its citizens to leave Lebanon on Thursday, escalating a bewildering crisis between the two Arab nations and raising fears that it could lead to an economic crisis or even war.
The order came after Saudi Arabia had stepped up its condemnations of Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Shiite militia that is the most powerful political and military force in Lebanon, and asserted that Lebanon had effectively declared war on Saudi Arabia.
The developments plunged Lebanon into a state of national anxiety, with politicians, journalists and even parents picking up their children at school consumed with the question of what could come next.
While analysts said a war was unlikely — because Saudi Arabia was not capable of waging one and Israel did not want one now — they worried that with so many active conflicts in the region, any Saudi actions that raised the temperature increased the risk of an accidental conflagration.

An official source said the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the warning, telling those in Yemen to leave ‘as soon as possible’ due to ‘situations in the Republic of Lebanon’.

Looks like a new round of fun and games in the Middle East are about to start.
I’m sure rich elites will volunteer young American soldiers to save their bacon. Who wouldn’t die for the Saudi King?
They would volunteer them only if they can think of a way to blame everything on Donald Trump.
US Air Force official: Missile targeting Saudis was Irania
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The ballistic missile fired by Yemeni rebels that targeted the Saudi capital was from Iran and bore “Iranian markings,” the top U.S. Air Force official in the Mideast said Friday.
Lt. Gen. Jeffrey L. Harrigian, who oversees the Air Forces Central Command in Qatar, made the comments at a news conference in Dubai.
Harrigian said authorities were investigating how the missile was smuggled into Yemen amid a Saudi-led coalition controlling the country’s airspace, ports and borders.

Saudi Arabia and Iran Battle for Power in the Middle East
by Vivian Salama
WASHINGTON — Saudi Arabia’s order for its citizens to evacuate Lebanon is the latest ominous signal in an escalating confrontation between the Middle East’s chief regional rivals, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The two nations have long fought proxy wars against each other, but many fear that the newly empowered Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is looking to assert Saudi Arabia’s regional dominance at any cost. The conflict heated up last year when Saudi Arabia executed a Shiite cleric and then severed diplomatic ties with Iran.

To the maps: Why the 2017 election result in Virginia has little to do with Trump
By J.E. Dyer November 9, 2017
We must concede at the outset that there was probably something of a “Trump” effect in the 2017 gubernatorial election held this week in Virginia.
That effect appears to be twofold. First, Democratic voter turnout in the counties that went for Hillary Clinton in 2016 was very high for a non-presidential-year election. Democrats were unusually motivated to vote. (We might also observe that voting Democratic did not involve voting for Hillary this time – a not-inconsiderable point.)
Second, while Republican turnout was also high, including the counties that went for Trump in 2016 – all of which Gillespie held – it didn’t surge the way Democratic turnout did.
On Wednesday, Dave Weigel tweeted a comparison with the 2009 governor’s race (when Republican Bob McDonnell won big):

ISIS’ Next Plan: Ticking Time-Bomb Kids in Europe
ISIS has entered refugee camps in the Middle East to brainwash women and children into becoming suicide bombers in Europe. That’s according to the European Centre for Counterterrorism and Intelligence Studies (Arabic link).
This is ISIS’ latest tactic in the wake of its crippling defeats in Syria and Iraq. The Centre mentions camps in Turkey but says Islamic State is also active in camps in other countries. Lebanon and Jordan are both major destinations for refugees from the fighting. There are also IDP (internally displaced people) camps in Iraq.
There were media reports earlier this year of ISIS paying smugglers to bring child refugees out of the camps to be drafted into Islamic State’s fighting forces, the Centre notes. ISIS was reportedly prepared to pay $1,000-2,000 per child in Jordan and Lebanon.

A Month of Islam and Multiculturalism in France: October 2017
“We are still in a state of war.”

October 1. A 29-year-old illegal immigrant from Tunisia stabbed two women to death at the central train station in Marseille. Witnesses heard the assailant shout “Allahu Akbar” as he lunged at the women with a 20-centimetre (eight-inch) knife before threatening soldiers, who shot him dead. The man, identified as Ahmed Hanachi, was using seven different identities and had a long criminal history. He had been arrested in Lyon for shoplifting just days before the attack, but those charges were dropped due to a lack evidence. He was released, despite not having the documents needed to live in France. Why he was never deported remains unclear.
October 2. Five people were arrested in Paris after police found four makeshift bombs at a building in the 16th arrondissement, one of the city’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Police said there was no one living in the apartment block who might be considered a target for jihadists. Interior Minister Gérard Collomb surmised that the bomb was simply meant to create fear: “Blowing up a building in a posh neighborhood shows that no one is safe…that it could happen anywhere in France.” He added: “This shows that the level of the threat in France is extremely high…yes, even if the Islamic State has suffered military setbacks, we are still in a state of war.”
October 2. The trial began of Abdelkader Merah, the 35-year-old brother of Mohamed Merah. In March 2012, Mohamed in March 2012 had gone on a nine-day shooting spree in southern France, killing three soldiers and gunning down a teacher and three children at a Jewish school before being shot dead by police. Abdelkader stands accused of “knowingly” helping to facilitate the “preparation” of the attack, in particular by stealing the scooter used for the three separate shootings. He appeared alongside 34-year-old Fettah Malki, accused of giving Mohamed Merah a bulletproof jacket, an Uzi submachine gun and the ammunition he unloaded on his victims. Abdelkader Merah faces a possible life sentence while Malki could get 20 years in prison.

……
Important message: Be very, very wary of what you hear and read about Saudi, et al.
This is the Middle East. Personal and tribal politics. Geopolitics is an abstraction, a distraction. Perception will sway peoples.
Megaphones DO matter. The echo-chamber is a formidable weapon. That’s what 0 mastered, that’s how – in Clare Lopez’s words – “we switched sides.”
We’ve got to turn that around. Holding back Iran is our imperative, not a rogue President’s bluster. Any contradiction in that message is sabotage.
Nothing to do with our resources or lack of them.
-•- That’s all relative: Ask Norse Radish. We could still bomb the bejeezus out of the rest of the world combined if we felt like it.
-•- We can’t sit on the fence. The perception of our support matters.
-•- We stand by our friends.
=> We’re rooting for “MbS” [preferred over “MBS” – the Crown Prince of SA].
U.S. DOS and DOD haven’t jumped on the Trump Train yet. Media still 0.
PT-45 is operating on the clan-level here. DeepState has given him no choice, but it just happens to be the perfect tack.
Because the U.S. per se has lost credibility completely. PT is offering an ‘alternative’ that’s more in sync with regional proclivities anyway.
Still, DeepState better be corralled soon, or game’s over.Lebanon: Most coverage is FAKE. Continuing to arm the puppet regime is an enemy op. Like arming “moderate jihadis” against “ISIL”.
Yemen: Temporizing in response to AmNasty International has been SA’s biggest mistake.
Best thing would be to Grozny it. With all the noisy “humanitarians” and their pets on the ground. Ship the Rohingyas over too.
Yes he is operating on the Clan level which has advantages for him. The deep state is being removed at the best rate we can manage in semi peace. Things on that front are going to speed up but it will take longer then is comfortable.
Given the damage to the rule of law in the US it is highly probable that we are all headed into the Clan and tribal system, this is the inevitable ending of the identity politics the left has been playing.
Germany: Aleppo-inspired sniper barricade erected outside Brandenburg Gate

RT – Arab ‘mafia’ infiltrates German state services – police union head
Powerful Arab criminal clans are actively trying to plant their members into Berlin’s police and other state services, a local German Police Union head has claimed. He went on to say the mafia gangs are seeking to control police actions.
As the EUSSR continues on the process of devolving the nation state in favor for the big multinational state and the Western culture is destroyed through the Islamification of Europe this is going to become the norm in the European nations that don’t maintain their independence. The inevitable result of the Identity politics of the left is a return to clan and tribal politics. We are seeing this in all Western Nations and it will the trip to full Clan and Tribal politics in all western nations will speed up as long as the left has enough power to keep pushing Identity politics and they will probably retain enough power to do this until things devolve into open civil war.
Mauritanian prosecutors appeal sentence against ‘blasphemy’ blogger
Nouakchott – Mauritanian prosecutors on Friday said they had appealed against a two-year prison term served on a blogger who had earlier received a death sentence for blasphemy.
Cheikh Ould Mohamed Ould Mkheitir was given the two-year term on Thursday by an appeals court in the northwest town of Nouadhibou.
“The prosecutors immediately filed an appeal to the Supreme Court” to ensure “a sound and rigorous application of the law,” prosecutors there said in a statement.
Mkheitir has been in custody since January 2014 and thus was eligible for immediate release after Thursday’s ruling. He was also fined $169. His whereabouts are not known.
A Muslim in his thirties, Mkheitir was sentenced to death in December 2014 over a blog which questioned decisions taken by the Prophet Mohammed and his companions during holy wars in the seventh century.
He also attacked the mistreatment of Mauritania’s black population, blasting “an iniquitous social order” with an underclass that was “marginalised and discriminated against from birth.”
His case has sparked outrage from rights activists but also fuelled demands for the death sentence to be carried out in the deeply conservative Muslim country.
On April 21 2016, the court of appeal confirmed the death penalty, but reclassified the crime from blasphemy to “unbelieving,” for which the punishment is less if the defendant repents.
The case was then sent to the Supreme Court, which on January 31 this year sent it back to the appeals court “in order to correct mistakes made,” without elaboration.
Thursday’s decision in favour of a jail term sparked scenes of outrage in court and fresh demands for the blogger to be executed.
Appeals were launched on social media for Friday to be observed as a “day of anger.”
Security was beefed up in sensitive areas in the capital Nouakchott after weekly Friday afternoon prayers.
Capital punishment in Mauritania, a vast, mainly desert state in west Africa, is usually reserved for murder and acts of terrorism.
According to Amnesty, Mauritania last executed a prisoner in 1987.
Mkheitir on Wednesday told judges that he had “uncovered mistakes in his article” which he “immediately corrected in another article.
He also expressed “every repentance and apologies” and assured the court of his “faith in Allah and his prophet”.
