  1. CNN – Iran warns US about scrapping nuclear deal (Amanpour exclusive)

In an exclusive interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said America would pay a high price if President Donald Trump makes good on his threats to scrap the Iran nuclear deal.

  2. Clinton won’t rule out questioning legitimacy of election

Hillary Clinton said she wouldn’t rule out challenging the legitimacy of the 2016 presidential election if Russian interference turned out to be deeper than previously thought.

“No, I wouldn’t rule it out,” she said in an interview with NPR published Monday.

The defeated Democratic nominee stressed, however, that she does not believe there is a means to officially challenge the election’s outcome.

“I don’t know if there’s any legal, constitutional way to do that,” Clinton said. “I think you can raise questions.”

Clinton has repeatedly blamed Russia’s efforts to intervene in last year’s election for her loss to Donald Trump, but her latest comments reflect the depth of her frustration with the Kremlin’s efforts.

They come as special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating the election-meddling campaign that U.S intelligence agencies say was done to benefit Trump, and whether any of the president’s associates colluded with Moscow.

“[Trump] knew they were trying to do whatever they could to discredit me with emails, so there’s obviously a trail there,” Clinton said. “I don’t know that in our system we have any means of doing that, but I just wanted to add to the point you made. There’s no doubt they influenced the election: We now know more about how they did that.”

The president has questioned the intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia was behind the election interference campaign, and Mueller is reportedly probing whether Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey was an attempt to obstruct the investigations.

Clinton said she would have reacted differently than Trump did and established an “independent commission with subpoena power” to probe it.

“Let me just put it this way, if I had lost the popular vote but won the electoral college and in my first day as president the intelligence community came to me and said, ‘The Russians influenced the election,’ I would’ve never stood for it,” she said. “Even though it might’ve advantaged me, I would’ve said, ‘We’ve got to get to the bottom of this.’”

    • In some ways I wish she would shut up, but there are many reasons that I hope she doesn’t. Every time she opens her mouth she drives more people away from the Democrats, this is something that will destroy the Democrats.

    • Clinton won’t rule out questioning legitimacy of election

Hillary Clinton wouldn’t rule out a ménage à trois with Satan and an adult bull elephant in musth if it gave her another microsecond in the spotlight. This hag is the richly deserved ne plus ultra of negative advertising for America’s Liberals.

Not even Jimmy Carter can compete with her as a poster child for boundless, Washington-style money-grubbing, corruption, and fifty-weight political sleaze. That she is attached to a conniving serial rapist like Bill Clinton makes them a transcendently demonic “power couple”.

For their mutual, obsessive hatred of Western civilization, she and Angela Merkel may as well be twins-separated-at-birth. Both of them are living undead proof that, while beauty may only be skin deep, ugly goes right down to the bone.

  3. INDIA -Seeking to deport Rohingya, India tells court has evidence of militant links

NEW DELHI (Reuters) – India’s home ministry said on Monday it would confidentially share intelligence information with the Supreme Court showing Rohingya links with Pakistan-based militants, in a bid to get legal clearance for plans to deport 40,000 Rohingya Muslims.

The Supreme Court is hearing an appeal lodged on behalf of Rohingya against the deportation plan proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist government.

India’s home ministry submitted an affidavit to the court arguing that the hardline stance was justified by the security threat posed by illegal immigrant Rohingya, hundreds of thousands of whom have fled from Myanmar to Bangladesh, from where many have crossed into India.

The ministry said the illegal influx of large numbers of Rohingya into India began four to five years ago, long before an exodus that saw more than 400,000 Rohingya flee to Bangladesh since Aug. 25 to escape a Myanmar military counter-insurgency offensive that the United Nations has called “ethnic cleansing”.

The affidavit went on to say the government had reports from security agencies and other authentic sources “indicating linkages of some of the unauthorized Rohingya immigrants with Pakistan-based terror organizations and similar organizations operating in other countries.”

It also said there was information on Rohingya involvement in plots by Islamic State and other “extremist groups” to ignite communal and sectarian violence in India.

Senior home ministry official Mukesh Mittal said the Indian government would privately show the court material gathered from “sensitive investigations” to substantiate the claims in its affidavit.

Lawyer Prashant Bhushan, who filed the plea on behalf of two Rohingya men, will file a rejoinder to the government’s affidavit, his office told Reuters.

The court will next hear the matter on Oct. 3.

Meantime, police said on Monday that they had arrested a suspected member of al Qaeda who they believed was trying to recruit Rohingya living in the country to fight security forces in Myanmar.

Senior police officer Pramod Kushwaha told Reuters that British national Shauman Haq, 27, was arrested near a bus stop in Delhi on Sunday. He had come to India via Bangladesh.

Rohingya in India voiced worries that they were being unfairly tainted by the allegations and sought more understanding for their plight.

“We feel helpless and hopeless,” said Rohingya youth leader Ali Johar, who came to India in 2012 and lives with his family in a Delhi settlement.

“The world’s largest democracy has given us shelter but they should handle this situation more empathetically.”

Modi’s government has been criticized by activists for not speaking out against Myanmar’s recent military offensive against Rohingya insurgents, and right-wing groups in India have begun vilifying Rohingya living there.

The Rohingya are denied citizenship in Buddhist-majority Myanmar and regarded as illegal immigrants, despite claiming roots that date back centuries. More than 800,000 Rohingya currently live in Bangladesh.

  4. ISIS Encourages Attacks on US Hurricane Relief Centers

ISIS is encouraging its members to attack Hurricane Harvey relief centers in Houston. A social media post by the terror group and quoted by Newsweek reads:

“To all the (lone mujahids) in the U.S. (warrior), pop down to Houston and drop in at any of the relief centers housing displaced people from the Houston floods, make sure to bring lots of supplies/gadgets/toys to see if you can help put any (unbeliever) out of their misery.”

One analyst quoted by CNBC says that “these posts appear to be more aspirational than operational, with hopes that their followers would then act on calls for attacks. Incidents involving lone wolf attackers have demonstrated the potential danger, lethality and effectiveness of a rehearsed small arms or knife attack that can be carried out by a single individual with little or no training. It also underscores the potentially higher consequences of an assault attack involving multiple operatives.”

An alert put out by Homeland Security in Florida warns police officers to “maintain situational awareness of their surroundings.”

ISIS jihadis not only view centers set up for those displaced by the recent hurricanes as ripe for attack opportunities, they also view the devastation wreaked by the storms as divine retribution by Allah.

  5. Is Washington Finally Reining in the United Nations?
Home > Political Islam > In the US > Government > Is Washington Finally Reining in the United Nations?
By Clarion Project Monday, September 18, 2017

here are many in the U.S. who believe we should stop funding the United Nations. It’s a wasteful organization that largely ignores and even fights against U.S. foreign policy, they say. If we remove the 22 percent the U.S. contributes to the U.N. budget, they argue, the New-York based body will have to seriously rethink the way it operates.

In this podcast, Clarion suggests an alternative — especially given the remarkable performance of U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley.

Several St. Louis County police officers had to be decontaminated by St. Louis Fire Dept. emergency responders on Sunday night after they were sprayed with an unknown chemical substance.

St. Louis County police confiscated some bottles of “unknown chemicals” that were used against the police. One of the bottles was marked apple cider, which experienced agitators apparently use to neutralize the effects of tear gas.

  7. Islamic Rules in Danish Schools

    by Judith Bergman
    September 18, 2017 at 4:00 am

Some Muslim schools in Denmark appear to be employing anti-Semitic teachers, enforcing gender inequality, employing violence against students, offering poor education in general, and teaching jihad.

There are 26 Muslim schools in Denmark. While they operate independently of the public schools, the state sponsors them heavily — as it does other independent schools in Denmark — covering 75 % of their budget. The demand for Muslim schools in Denmark has grown in the last decade, as Muslim schools have increased their number of pupils by almost 50% since 2007; they now cater to almost 5,000 pupils. (It is unknown, however, how many Muslim children learn in the so-called “Koran schools,” where Islam and Arabic are taught after school to those children who do not attend a Muslim day school. Koran schools — as revealed in the Danish TV documentary “Sharia in Denmark”) — are not under any supervision from state or municipal authorities).

Danish educational authorities are currently investigating seven Muslim schools for failing to follow the laws of independent schools, including the requirement that they prepare the students for life in Danish society, and teaching them about democracy and gender equality. That amounts to more than one quarter of all Muslim schools. The first Muslim school opened in Denmark in 1980. Nearly forty years later, Danish politicians appear to be only beginning to comprehend or take seriously the challenges that several of these schools present to Danish society.

  8. Palestinians Imprison Journalists for Exposing Corruption

    by Khaled Abu Toameh
    September 18, 2017 at 5:00 am

Hajer Harb, a courageous Palestinian journalist, has been found guilty by Hamas of exposing corruption in the health system in the Gaza Strip. On September 13, a Hamas court sentenced her to six months in prison and a fine. It was the first sentence of its kind to be passed on a female journalist in the Gaza Strip.

Harb, however, is unlikely to serve her prison term in the near future; she recently left the Gaza Strip to Jordan, where she is receiving medical treatment after being diagnosed with cancer.

Her illness, however, did not stop Hamas from pursuing legal measures against her for her role in exposing corruption in the Palestinian health system. Instead of suspending the legal proceedings against her, the Hamas court chose to sentence her to prison in absentia.

If and when she recovers from her illness and returns to the Gaza Strip, Harb will be arrested and sent to prison for six months. She will also be required to pay the 1000 shekel ($250) fine that was imposed on her by the Hamas court.

  9. Author Anne Applebaum’s new book on the Holodomor, the Daily Mail reports:

(You may want to cover this in more depth in the future; read the Mail article, it says some surprising things, it won’t let me copy much of it, but I was able to get this:)

The forgotten Holocaust: How Stalin starved four million to death in a grotesque Marxist experiment – but many are STILL in denial

Thank goodness, then, for the journalist and author Anne Applebaum, whose new book, Red Famine, leaves no room for doubt about Stalin’s responsibility for what happened in Ukraine.

Nor does she spare us the grim details of the fate of millions of innocent men, women and children who had the misfortune to find themselves guinea pigs in his monstrous Marxist experiment.

Even today, shamefully, there are those on the Left who still make excuses for Stalin.
Chief among them, almost unbelievably, is Jeremy Corbyn’s sepulchral press chief, Winchester-educated Seumas Milne, who has rarely missed an opportunity to defend the Communist dictator.

According to Mr Milne, people should stop banging on about the victims of Stalin’s regime. Instead, they should remember ‘communism in the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and elsewhere delivered industrialisation, mass education, job security and huge advances in social and gender equality’.

    • Prior to Communism Russia exported food to the world, during communism they imported food, after communism they are once again exporting food. The communist leadership knew that they could become self sufficient in food if they allowed the farmers to grow more food for profit. They refused to do so because it would create a middle class that would threaten the revolution.

This same attitude is shown by the Dems in their refusal to cut taxes for the wealthy and the large Corporations. They know this will help the nations economy, create new jobs for the unemployed and generate new wealth for everyone. They refuse to do this because they want to punish the people who are a success in business, in their limited imaginations they can’t understand that by letting the businesses and businessmen make money they are helping the poor. To them economics is a zero sum game and for one person to make money others have to lose money. They think that creating wealth for yourself and others is evil.

This refusal to face facts is the reason that Socialism/communism always fails. Look at what is happening in all communist/socialist nations and you see starvation, the inability to grow enough food to feed the citizens and the leaders of the so called socialist utopia living lives that make those lived by most of the rich look frugal. The ability for the leaders to live high on the hog is because where there is socialism/communism there is corruption, massive corruption. This is why the USSR collapsed, why China is on the verge of collapsing, why Nam has had to turn to semi capitalism

  10. CNN – Exclusive: US government wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman

Washington (CNN)US investigators wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort under secret court orders before and after the election, sources tell CNN, an extraordinary step involving a high-ranking campaign official now at the center of the Russia meddling probe.

The government snooping continued into early this year, including a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Donald Trump.
Some of the intelligence collected includes communications that sparked concerns among investigators that Manafort had encouraged the Russians to help with the campaign, according to three sources familiar with the investigation. Two of these sources, however, cautioned that the evidence is not conclusive.

NYT – With a Picked Lock and a Threatened Indictment, Mueller’s Inquiry Sets a Tone

[…]To get the warrant, Mr. Mueller’s team had to show probable cause that Mr. Manafort’s home contained evidence of a crime. To be allowed to pick the lock and enter the home unannounced, prosecutors had to persuade a federal judge that Mr. Manafort was likely to destroy evidence.

Said Mr. Gurulé, the former federal prosecutor, “Clearly they didn’t trust him.”
