Seattle Mayor Ed Murray resigned on Wednesday after a fifth man publicly accused the Democrat of molesting him as a child.
But Murray isn’t alone. At least 11 then-current and former mayors have been accused of child sex abuse-related crimes since 2016. The allegations range from child porn to physical abuse. The alleged victims were as young as four years old.
Stillwater, New York Mayor Rick Nelson resigned earlier this month after being arrested on child porn charges. Nelson has a decades-long history of alleged sexual misconduct involving teenagers and children. The child porn charges marked the fifth such accusation against Nelson, the Times Union reported, including allegations of rape and sodomy.

North Korea has threatened to nuke Japan and reduce the US ‘to ashes and darkness’ in response to the latest sanctions imposed by the UN.
The threat was issued via the North’s state news agency as US defense officials said the regime has spent the last 48 hours moving mobile missile launchers and preparing fixed sites for launch.
Elsewhere analysts from Johns Hopkins University said Kim Jong-un’s regime appears to be readying its nuclear test site for more detonations following the explosion of what North Korea claims was a hydrogen bomb on September 3.

Antifa activists say violence is necessary
Anti-fascist activists, or “antifa,” increasingly mobilized in the wake of President Trump’s election, are unapologetic about what they describe as the necessary use of violence to combat authoritarianism.

UC Berkeley under tight security for conservative speaker
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — The University of California, Berkeley has ramped up security as it braces to host conservative commentator Ben Shapiro Thursday night, the latest polarizing figure to raise concerns of violence on the famously liberal campus.
Authorities plan to seal off the campus’ central hub, Sproul Plaza, with a “closed perimeter” around several buildings including where Shapiro is scheduled to speak to a sold-out, 1,000-person audience. There will be “an increased and highly visible police presence,” the university said in a statement.

As conservatives go, Ben Shapiro is hardly a flame-thrower. He tends to speak in a sharp, well-reasoned manner, and doesn’t suffer fools joyously, but he’s not a provocateur like Milo Yiannopoulos or Ann Coulter.
He’s not a Trump supporter, for that matter, and if you call him “alt-right,” that’s just glaring evidence that you don’t know what you’re talking about. While Shapiro doesn’t exactly fit the mold of what I call old-consensus conservatives – think Mitt Romney and similar conventional proceduralists for that – he’s much closer to that model than to anyone who is routinely called alt-right (e.g., Yiannopoulos).
So it is very informative that the radical left is trying to scare him away and intimidate the University of California at Berkeley, where he is scheduled to speak on 14 September.
It’s not informative about Shapiro, who hasn’t undergone any sort of game-changing transformation in the last year. It’s informative about the radical left, and about Berkeley.

The Florida rapper, XXXTentacion, put out the music video for his song, “Look at Me!,” which examines police brutality and racism in America. One part of the video shows XXXTentacion placing a white child and a black child in front of a noose. The rapper encourages the white child to place it around his neck and then proceeds to hang him.
Viewers can see the boy’s feet twitch as he slowly dies.
The video follows, but be warned: In addition to the graphic portrayal of violence, the lyrics are abnormally vile.
Awans allegedly funneled Dems’ data to secret server, falsified evidence to cover it up

A secret server is behind law enforcement’s decision to ban a former IT aide to Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz from the House network.
Now-indicted former congressional IT aide Imran Awan allegedly routed data from numerous House Democrats to a secret server. Police grew suspicious and requested a copy of the server early this year, but they were provided with an elaborate falsified image designed to hide the massive violations. The falsified image is what ultimately triggered their ban from the House network Feb. 2, according to a senior House official with direct knowledge of the investigation.
The secret server was connected to the House Democratic Caucus, an organization chaired by then-Rep. Xavier Becerra. Police informed Becerra that the server was the subject of an investigation and requested a copy of it. Authorities considered the false image they received to be interference in a criminal investigation, the senior official said.

Iraq: Over 50 killed and scores injured in twin attacks in south Iraq
At least 50 people were killed and over 80 more injured in a shooting and car bomb attacks, Thursday, near the city of Nasiriyah, southern Iraq, according to reports. Some of the wounded are being treated at Nasiriyah General Hospital, as the footage shows.
Suicide bombers attacked a restaurant and a security checkpoint on the Dhi Qar highway. Islamic State has allegedly claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Canada now investigates ‘climate denial’
It’s like something out of George Orwell’s 1984.
Canada’s Competition Bureau, an arm’s length agency funded by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government to the tune of almost $50 million annually, investigated three organizations accused of denying mainstream climate science for over a year, following a complaint from an environmental group.
The bureau discontinued its 14-month probe in June, citing “available evidence, the assessment of the facts in this case, and to ensure the effective allocation of limited resources”, according to Josephine A.L. Palumbo, Deputy Commissioner of Competition, Deceptive Marketing Practices Directorate.
But it will re-open its investigation should it receive relevant new information from the public.
The complaint was filed by Ecojustice on behalf of six “prominent” Canadians, including former Ontario NDP leader and UN ambassador Stephen Lewis.
It accused three groups, Friends of Science, the International Climate Science Coalition, and the Heartland Institute of making false and misleading claims about climate change, including that the sun is the main driver of climate change, not carbon dioxide, and that carbon dioxide is not a pollutant.
When it launched its complaint in December, 2015, Ecojustice told the National Observer it would press the Commissioner of Competition to refer the matter to the Attorney-General of Canada for “criminal charges against the denier groups”.
In response to the Competition Bureau discontinuing its probe, Calgary-based Friends of Science said on its blog that: “The Competition Bureau is a very important enforcement agency. We regret that any of their time had to be wasted on this matter. We are not a commercial entity, we do not have federal lobbyists, we are not tax-subsidized as environmental charities are, we do not represent any industry. We only present the professional insights and expertise of our core team and represent the views of our individual members (not corporations). The typical process for Competition Bureau inquiries is confidential; Ecojustice appeared to use this call for inquiry to grandstand.”
In May, 2015, Advertising Standards Canada, a voluntary industry group that does not enforce its decisions other than through public suasion ruled, following 96 public complaints, that two Friends of Science billboards in Montreal stating: “The Sun is the Main Driver of Climate Change. Not You. Not CO2” contained, “categorical and unequivocal claims … (that) could not be supported by the preponderance of current evidence on the matters in dispute … (and) omitted relevant information, namely that a number of factors have led to climate change, of which the sun is just one.”
As someone who has written extensively on climate change for a decade, my view is that all of this is madness. We are entering into dangerous territory, a fundamental attack on free speech.
If we’re going to use agencies of the federal government to investigate and even prosecute “climate deniers”, for making “false and misleading claims” then let’s damn well do the same for “climate alarmists”, who do the same thing all the time.
I read and hear politicians making “false and misleading claims” about climate change almost daily, particularly with regard to what federal and provincial carbon pricing schemes will actually accomplish, as opposed to what our governments are claiming they will accomplish.
But the way to decide these issues is through public debate, not running to an agency of the federal government to shut up people we disagree with, particularly a government that itself makes false and misleading claims about man-made climate change all the time.

TV foodie Anthony Bourdain told paparazzi outside an airport that if he was asked to cater a dinner for President Donald Trump, he would poison the food.
The former Food Network personality and current host of CNN’s Parts Unknown was caught outside LAX airport by a photographer for celebrity gossip website TMZ. Bourdain was asked whether or not he would go to North Korea to do a food show.
Bourdain said that everyone in North Korea is starving, so there is no reason to go there. He also called the diminutive dictator of the oppressed nation a series of obscene names, saying Kim Jong-un is a “chubby, evil little f***.”
But then the TMZ stringer asked what Bourdain would serve if he was asked to cater a dinner for President Trump.

Rice told investigators she unmasked Trump officials in undisclosed UAE meeting: report
Former national security adviser Susan Rice told House investigators that she internally unmasked the identities of senior Trump officials in order to understand why the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates was in New York late last year, CNN reports.

“A man who travelled from Canada to Syria to join the Islamic State terror group and work for its “morality police” has returned to North America, saying “We all do things we regret”.
The unidentified Pakistani-Canadian man, who is said to be in his twenties, returned from Syria to the Toronto area last summer and said that he served as a member of the Islamic State for six months. He claims he was promised an “Islamic utopia” but found an all-controlling police state, Canadian broadcaster Global News reports.
Speaking to the broadcaster, he said: “We all do things that we regret … All that’s behind me.”
According to some estimates, there have been dozens of Islamic State radicals who have returned to Canada though no exact figures have been published by the government of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Some, like the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), have expressed concern regarding the returnees.
In an internal report they noted: “In the worst-case scenario, one or more of those returnees with terrorist and/or combat experience may target elements of Canadian society … They may use Canada as a base for targeting others, including the United States.”
The former Shariah enforcer said he worked in Manbij in the Aleppo district of Syria saying that he enforced the group’s laws, which result in punishments like trapping people in cages for flirting, giving lashes for cigarette smoking, and beatings for women who refused to wear the Islamic veil.
The radicals have also killed people for leaving Islam, often having them shot or beheaded and then crucified.
The Canadian Islamist claimed he did not participate in any killings, saying he was “too nice,” though he did witness deaths. He also said that he fears arrest by the Canadian authorities now that he is back in Canada…”

“The number of terrorism-related arrests in Britain has surged almost 70 per cent to a new record high, as the country’s security services grapple an unprecedented threat.
The Home Office announced that 379 people were arrested in the 12 months to June — the highest number of arrests since collection of data began in 2001 — as the UK suffered an intense period of deadly attacks carried out by Islamists.
Revealing that suspects were being detained at a rate of more than one a day, the figures included 12 arrests in connection with the Westminster attack in March, 23 linked to the Manchester Arena terror bombing in May, 21 in relation to the London Bridge attack in June, and one arrest following the van attack at Finsbury Park.
According to the Home Office quarterly bulletin on the police’s use of counter-terrorism powers, 123 of the suspects arrested were charged — 105 with terrorism offences — while 189 were released.
Of the 379 people arrested on suspicion of terror offences, 70 per cent said they considered themselves to be British. The proportion of women arrested (14 per cent) was the largest on record.
Prisons saw the number of terrorist inmates rise by 35 per cent this year to 204, continuing an upward trend since statistics were first collected in 2001.
The majority of terrorist prisoners (91 per cent) held Islamist views, while five per cent held far right views and the other four per cent followed ideologies classified as ‘other’, according to official data…”

“STOCKHOLM (AP) — Swedish prosecutors have charged a Syrian asylum-seeker and a former fighter with Damascus’ government forces with war crimes on suspicion that he posed in front of dead or wounded combatants from the Islamic State group.
Prosecutor Karolina Wieslander said Thursday that 33-year-old Mohammad Abdullah had committed “a serious violation” of the victims’ “personal dignity” under international law when he knowingly posed in January 2014. Abdullah says he was ordered to pose.
Wieslander said Abdullah, who arrived in Sweden a year later as an asylum-seeker, knew the photos were intended as propaganda.
A trial in Stockholm has been scheduled to start Sept. 18.”

“Swedish police may have to release a 15-year-old suspected of killing a 17-year-old earlier this week by stabbing him to death because they are unable to find a translator for him.
The 15-year-old who is accused of the stabbing may have to be released from police custody Wednesday because they are unable to find someone who can make him understand the charges and present him in front of a judge.
The Swedish police can only hold a suspect for a limited period unless a judge decides to extend the arrest, but without representation through an interpreter the process has stalled, Sydsvenskan reports.
Martin Persson, a councillor at Helsingborg’s District Court, said: “Two of the district court employees have spent the entire day seeking an interpreter through all possible interpreting agencies and other channels. But we simply have not managed to find an interpreter.”
The 15-year-old migrant is accused of stabbing a 17-year-old fellow asylum seeker to death at a locker room in a local gym. Police supervisor Karim Ottosson said the two came into conflict for an unknown reason and the 15-year-old attacked the older asylum seeker with a knife.
The 17-year-old died of his injuries on Monday but the 15-year-old has denied the charges according to his lawyer Olof Wettermark. Despite the denial, police say they have interviewed several witnesses to the murder who claim the 15-year-old stabbed the victim repeatedly.
The case is not the first time an asylum seeker has committed murder in Sweden. The most notorious incident occurred last year when asylum worker Alexandra Mezher was stabbed to death by a Somalian migrant who claimed to be underage but turned out to be an adult.
The story sparked outrage in Sweden and led to many calling for more investigation into underage migrants, the vast majority of whom appear to be adults posing as minors.”

“A survey of 25 nations has revealed that countries with higher levels of immigration are changing their attitudes towards it fastest.
In every single nation surveyed a plurality thought that immigration had had a negative effect. An average of 48 per cent said there are too many immigrants in their countries, against 21 per cent who believe there are not.
A majority in most countries also question if refugees are genuine, believe terrorists are posing as refugees, and think border controls should be tightened.
Sweden, which has seen the highest levels of immigration in Europe on a per capita basis in recent years, has also seen the biggest shift in attitudes, with the number of people who view immigration as positive falling from 37 per cent in 2011 to just 25 per cent today.
The number of Swedes who say immigration has increased shot up from 24 per cent in 2011 to 90 per cent in 2016. In Germany, where a million arrived in 2015/16, the figure rose from 22 per cent to 85 per cent. Germans, however, are less likely to have become more negative about migrants, moving up from 16 to 18 per cent in six years.
The Ipsos MORI survey compared how attitudes and perceptions changed over time in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Britain, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the United States.
In every single European nation studied, far more people disagreed with the statement that the European Union (EU) had “responded well to the refugee crisis” than agreed.
Hungarians were the most likely to think their nation had responded well, and French the least.
Turkey, the only Islamic nation studied, was by far and away the most anti-immigration nation in many of the categories, with 85 per cent saying the were “too many migrants” in their country.
Bobby Duffy, Managing Director of Ipsos Social Research Institute, commented: “Looking across countries, Turkey stands out as particularly concerned about a number of aspects of immigration, followed by Italy. But we’ve also seen big shifts in views in countries like Sweden and Germany…”
Other nations with comparatively negative attitudes towards immigration included Italy, Hungary, and Serbia. Hungarians were notably supportive of strong borders, after their Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, built fences along Hungary’s southern frontier last year.
British respondents were among the most likely in the world (55 per cent) to agree with the statement: “priority should be given to immigrants with higher education … who can fill shortages.”
“The study shows very clearly that immigration remains a major global concern: people are twice as likely to think that immigration is bad for their country than think it is good, and twice as likely to agree than disagree that there are too many immigrants in their country and that this is changing their country in ways they don’t like,” commented Duffy.
“And there is still a sense that the issue is increasing: three-quarters think there are more immigrants than 5 years ago, similar to the findings in previous waves of the study.””

“A soldier and a policeman were killed and 26 other people wounded by two bombs believed to have been set off by Muslim separatists in southern Thailand on Thursday, police said.
Capt. Prasobchoke Trakoon-in of the Yaha district police station in Yala province said assailants detonated one bomb as a team of paramilitary rangers passed on a road. After more security personnel arrived about 20 minutes later, a second bomb exploded.
Police Lance Cpl. Yutthanakorn Kunsadub said most of the wounded were bomb disposal officers.
More than 6,500 people have been killed since a Muslim separatist insurgency flared in Thailand’s three southernmost provinces of Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat in 2004. Recent cease-fire talks between the government and some separatist factions have made little progress.”

In Norway, where the mainstream media systematically bury or whitewash news stories that might reflect badly on the nation’s misguided immigration policies, its failed integration policies, or on Islam, a handful of small but heavily trafficked websites serve a vital function: getting out information that is being suppressed and providing a forum for opinions that are being silenced.
Perhaps the most prominent of those websites is Document.no, founded in 2003 by Hans Rustad, who still serves as editor and publisher. It is an intelligent, serious, and responsible site, whose contributors tend to know more about the above-mentioned subjects — and to be better writers — than the staffers at the major Oslo newspapers. I have yet to read a bigoted word by a contributor to Document.no, and I routinely find the site to be more reliable on the facts than the state-owned TV and radio stations or any of the big private (but, in many cases, state-supported) dailies.
For countless Norwegian citizens, Document.no is essential reading. For the nation’s cultural elite, however, it is anathema — a major chink in an otherwise almost solid wall of pro-Islam propaganda.

One of the most troubling aspects about “peace and justice” activism in the current era is that the very same institutions that condemn Israel so vociferously have had a difficult, if not impossible time confronting the terrible misdeeds of the Assad regime in Syria, ISIS in Iraq and Boko Haram in Nigeria with the same force with which they assail the Jewish state.
Yes, they issue condemnations, but their statements are lamentations that really do not approach in ferocity of the ugly denunciations these institutions target at Israel. In the United States, the problem is most pronounced in liberal Protestant mainline churches such as the United Church of Christ, the Presbyterian Church USA and the United Methodist Church, denominations that have to varying degrees of intensity support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement that singles Israel out for condemnation — in a transparent effort to eradicate the country by economic means — while remaining shamefully silent about the genocide of Christians in the Middle East.
We also see a tendency in institutions such as the World Council of Churches, the National Council of Churches and to my dismay as a Catholic, the Vatican and other parts of the Roman Catholic Church, to assail Israel while remaining silent about the problem of jihad.
Sweden’s New Instability

Recently, The Boston Globe’s Astead W. Herndon wrote an article criticizing U.S. President Donald Trump’s ways of gathering support for his statements and proposals. While it is basically true that politicians should not only rely only on the media, Herndon’s understatement Sweden’s problems is dishonest at best.
If one mentions problems in Sweden relating to migration, it is important to describe what is really happening. Sadly, Sweden’s refugee policy has made Sweden less secure. In 2015, Sweden received 163,000 asylum seekers. The same year, the United States received about 70,000 asylum seekers. Sweden, however, has a population of ten million, while the United States has approximately 323 million. If the United States in 2015 had received the same proportion of asylum seekers as Sweden, in relation to its population, the US would have taken in 5.2 million. Would it have threatened U.S. security to host 5.2 million new asylum seekers in one year? Probably. That is what happened in Sweden.
The US already has a rigorous vetting process, but Sweden has a weak one — only slowly improving. In addition, because many “unaccompanied refugee children” lie about their age when they reach Sweden, the National Board of Forensic Medicine (“Rättsmedicinalverket”) has been instructed by the government to do medical age-assessments. These are made at the request of the Swedish Migration Agency (“Migrationsverket”), this, after the asylum seekers’ consent. The National Board of Forensic Medicine began performing these age-assessments in March; reporting on their activities on September 4, they found that in 83% of cases, the investigated person was not a minor, but 18 or older.
