  4. Asian sex gang with FORTY members preyed on around 100 girls in Newcastle and gave victims M-Cat drug to groom them into being abused (dailymail, Sep 6, 2017)
    http://dailym.ai/2j27CoA

“Three members of an Asian sex gang who used mephedrone to turn abuse victims into addicts and forced them to have sex if they wanted more drugs were jailed for a total of 56 years today.

Seventeen men and one woman from Newcastle are being sentenced over the next three days for crimes including rape, sexual assault, inciting girls into prostitution and drug dealing.

They were part of a network of nearly 40 men, including Pakistani, Indian, Iranian, Iraqi, Bangladeshi and Turkish nationals, who preyed on around 100 girls.

Victims said in impact statements they were treated ‘like a piece of meat’ by their abusers, who they believed were friends, and one woman branded the gang ‘monsters’.

One teenager didn’t eat for a week because she was so hooked on mephedrone, also known as M-Cat, but her abusers would only give her more after she performed sex acts on them.

Mohammed Azram, 35, picked up vulnerable girls from a courtyard in Newcastle’s West End and gave them drugs he referred to as ‘god’ because of the power it had over victims.

Today he was sentenced to 12-and-a-half years while his rapist accomplice Jahangir Zaman, 45, was jailed for 29 years. A third man, Shafiq Aziz, was jailed for 15 years for drugs offences.

John Elvidge QC, prosecuting, said the victims who gave evidence in court were white British and the male defendants were ‘all of Asian extraction’ and mostly British-born – but added the authorities decided their offending was not racially motivated.

One victim spoke about seeing a woman during a visit to one of the flats used by the gang, who appeared to be being treated as a ‘slave’.

She said men boasted that the ‘slave’ ‘would do anything sexually in return for money and drugs’ and described the men ‘dropping things on the floor and making her pick them up’.

Another said about the grooming gang: ‘They reel you in and wear you down’.

The gang’s victims told of suffering long term effects in many aspects of their lives as a result of their ordeals.

They have been left with trust issues and are wary of forming new relationships.

One woman said: ‘These people made me feel like they were my friends and made me feel supported. ‘I thought they were my friends, they made me feel nice about myself. ‘

But the authorities decided their offending was not racially motivated, he added.

He said girls were invited to parties and given alcohol and mephedrone and one victim said she witnessed another being treated like a slave.

Mr Elvidge said: ‘(The witness) described her as looking upset, she was dirty, the bedclothes were dirty, her clothes were ripped.’

Men would drop things on the floor and make her pick them up.

Azram, who appeared polite, decent and kind, was in fact using grooming behaviour, Mr Elvidge said.

Azram, who married in Pakistan, played a ‘leading role’ in the conspiracy, he added.

Linda Strudwick, defending, said Azram was a drug addict who had enjoyed running a shop his parents bought for him.

His barrister said he hoped to live with his sister, a bank worker, in Dubai when he is released, as the state is drug-free.

She said he attended Grainger Grammar School before moving to ‘Durham Boys’ School’ but got into drugs after moving to Newcastle College for his GCSEs.

He admitted a string of drugs offences and was convicted of one count of sexual assault and one count of inciting prostitution.

Rapist Jahangir Zaman, 45, gave girls lines of M-Cat and demanded oral sex if they wanted more, Mr Elvidge said.

Recalling one victim’s evidence, the barrister said: ‘She didn’t want to do it, but she did want the drugs.

‘It was made quite clear sex was the price she had to pay for the M-Cat.’

When Zaman was interviewed by police he denied the offences, saying he was married with daughters the same age as the complainants.

He was convicted of rape, supplying drugs and inciting prostitution.

Roy Brown, defending, said: ‘He blames no one but himself.’

A repeat drug dealer, Zaman was also caught in a separate police operation to target the heroin trade.

Their victims today described them as ‘monsters’.

In a victim statement, another said she still had flashbacks to what happened to her six years ago at ‘sessions’ where girls were given drugs and then persuaded or forced to have sex.

And a third said the gang members put her down and thought ‘they are superior to women, and girls do not have the same rights as men’.

The statements were read out during a sentencing hearing at Newcastle Crown Court where three men were due to be dealt with.

The prosecutions followed the long running Operation Shelter investigation into sexual exploitation, largely in Newcastle’s West End.

The inquiry involved the controversial use of a police informant who was himself a child rapist and was paid almost £10,000 by Northumbria Police.

The abuse centred around the use of drugs.

‘The girls were expected to offer sexual services in return,’ Mr Elvidge said.

‘The court heard that the women who were being exploited sometimes consented, sometimes did not consent and sometimes were incapable of consenting.’

The men were more driven by the vulnerability and availability of their victims, Mr Elvidge said.
Eight men were convicted of conspiracy to incite prostitution, while others prosecuted were involved in supplying drugs.

The prosecutor described the conspirators’ method as ‘cynical and systematic’ in that they tricked victims into believing they were in a relationship with their abusers.”

    • “Grooming gang not racially or religiously motivated, judge rules

The grooming gang which preyed on girls was not racially or religiously motivated, a judge ruled.

Newcastle Crown Court heard how the defendants in the Operation Shelter trial, focused on exploitation of vulnerable girls in the West End of Newcastle, were of ‘Asian extraction’ and largely British-born, although some were born abroad.

John Elvidge QC, prosecuting, said the victims who gave evidence in court were all ‘white British’.

But the ethnicity of other potential targets was not known, he said, and one vulnerable girl who did not engage with police was black, and an Asian girl was seen at a party.

One defendant, who was not sentenced on Tuesday, had made racist remarks towards a ticket inspector, but he was cleared of any sexual offence.

Judge Penny Moreland said the gang picked out their victims ‘not because of their race, but because they were young, impressionable, naive and vulnerable’.

She said: ‘This is extremely serious offending against vulnerable members of society and that is the basis on which I intend to sentence.’ “

      • ““Grooming gang not racially or religiously motivated, judge rules”

They all spontaneously decided to treat white women like shit.

  5. Algeria’s Black Fear
“this fear of a blackening of Algeria is supported by the public campaign to keep blacks out of Algeria.”
The “influx” of black migrants into the Sahara has sparked racial tensions between them and Arab North Africans, with numerous attacks by Arabs against black migrants occurring throughout Algeria. Anti-migration efforts have focused on the Sahara desert, the new path to Europe, deporting thousands of black African migrants from Algeria and “repatriating” or dumping them in Niger each year.
Displaying a cruel irony, the president of the Algerian National Commission of the Promotion of Human Rights, Farouk Ksentini, justified a sudden mass expulsion of black African migrants from Algiers in December 2016 by saying to a national newspaper “the presence of African migrants and refugees in several localities of the country could cause problems for the Algerians, notably the spread of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases… Hence, the decision of the Algerian authorities to expel them in order to avoid a catastrophe.”
Ahmed Ouyahia, the Minister of the State and cabinet director to Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika, declared that migrants residing illegally in Algeria are “the source of crime, drugs and disease.”

    • After speaking with a friend on Goldmoney and hearing his concerns I agree there are many valid questions regarding the details of such an account. I have long had similar worries due to a healthy cynicism from past ecperience. For instance it is doubtful that any Brinks deposit is safe if a government decides to criminalize someone for their political beliefs and subsequently freeze their assets. Also, past discussions I have had with accountants, lawyers and bankers have found most reflect general society in political sophistication and know little of what the Vladtepes readership knows, so citing trepidation of a system, society and government in serious danger is often met with puzzlement. In other words normalcy bias reigns supreme. Regardless, I see it as a unique service and will explore the veracity of its claims for all.

        “Happy Anniversary John Birch Society!”
        By Bill Hahn – December 9, 2015

        Excerpt:

Welch pleaded in vain for Congress to investigate his Society and the work it was doing. He said he never had anything to hide and was, therefore, completely willing to open to scrutiny all aspects of his creation. Finally, a California state senate committee took him up on his offer and spent two years exhaustively looking into every aspect of the organization’s work. In 1963, its official report concluded that the Society had succeeded in attracting many Americans who believed it to be “the most effective, indeed the only organization they could join in a national movement to learn the truth about the Communist menace and then take some positive concerted action to prevent its spread.”

The California senate committee ended its 62-page report noting that its investigation had been requested by the Society that “had been publicly charged with being a secret, fascist, subversive, un-American, anti-Semitic organization.” Completely exonerating the organization from such vilification, the Democrat-led committee concluded, “We have not found any of these accusations to be supported by the evidence.” That should have stopped the intensive smear campaign against the privately-run Society, but it didn’t.

“The New American Responds to Attacks by Bulgarian Communists”

        Excerpt:

        3. Media and journalists even suggest that the Ku Klux Klan is involved in the front against Irina Bokova, since they are related to The John Birch Society (JBS) that sponsors The New American. Is this a conspiracy theory?

This is an especially silly conspiracy theory that is not even remotely based in reality. In fact, the truth is almost the exact opposite of the claim. And it is very easy to show that anyone making these accusations is either totally ignorant of the facts or deliberately lying to mislead people.

The John Birch Society has always had a strict policy of expelling racists as soon as they are discovered. This information is available right on the Society’s website. It has also been confirmed even by government investigations. In 1963, for example, a California Senate Fact-Finding Committee that investigated The John Birch Society found “much evidence to the effect that it [JBS] opposes racism in all forms.” The Senate Committee also said the “organization is open to people of all religions, all races, all political persuasions except those deemed subversive.” And remember, this was 1963, when racism was not only mainstream but official policy in many parts of the United States.

It’s also funny that these “media” and “journalists” should cite the Ku Klux Klan and claim it is somehow related to JBS. It was Reverend Delmar Dennis, a member of The John Birch Society, who infiltrated the KKK while working with the FBI, and dealt a devastating blow to the Klan and its leadership in Mississippi. You can learn more about this and other fascinating stories in an upcoming book on the history of JBS by the Society’s president emiritus, John McManus.

Racists in the United States hate The John Birch Society precisely because it opposes racism and all forms of collectivism.

  7. Spain and Morocco arrest six suspected of practicing beheadings
MADRID (Reuters) – Spanish and Moroccan police have arrested five Moroccans and one Spaniard suspected of belonging to an Islamist militant cell that simulated decapitations, the Spanish interior ministry said on Wednesday.

The arrests mark the first big raids since a double Islamist attack in Catalonia in August that killed 16 people, most of whom were mown down by a van in Barcelona.

The cell was at an advanced stage of activity, the ministry said. It did not say whether those arrested were men or women.

The group held secret night meetings at which they planned large-scale attacks, and carried out physical training sessions in which they simulated cutting off victims’ heads, the ministry said.

Five of the arrested were Moroccan, one with Spanish residence rights. One was Spanish of Moroccan heritage. One was arrested in the Spanish north African enclave of Melilla, and the rest in Morocco.

Spanish police have arrested 199 people in the country accused of connections to militant groups since raising the security alert to one notch below the highest level in 2015.

  8. ‘Raping European values’ EU threatens Hungary with court as Orban slams ECJ refugee ruling (express, Sep 6, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/850651/Migrant-crisis-EU-Hungary-Orban-ECJ-refugee-quotas

“FURIOUS Hungary today accused euro judges of “raping European values” after they rejected the country’s appeal against having to take in refugees from Greece and Italy.

In an X-rated riposte Budapest called the decision of the European Court of Justice “appalling and irresponsible” and suggested they will continue to fight against migrant quotas.

In response the EU’s weary looking migration commission Dimitris Avramopoulos today warned the country, along with fellow rebels Poland and the Czech Republic, that they face being hauled up in court.

The already explosive row between Eastern states and Brussels went nuclear after the ECJ delivered its long expected verdict that member states did not breach EU law when they agreed the quota system.

Eurocrats have already begun infringement proceedings against the three states over their refusal to take in migrants under the scheme. A fourth initial rebel, Slovakia, has since backed down…”

    • EU court rejects Hungary, Slovakia appeal in refugee case (abcnews, Sep 6, 2017)
      http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/eu-court-rejects-hungary-slovakia-appeal-refugee-case-49646330

“The European Union’s top court on Wednesday rejected legal action by Hungary and Slovakia to avoid accepting refugees under an EU scheme, a decision seen as a victory for countries bearing the greatest burden of Europe’s migrant wave.

In a long-awaited ruling, the European Court of Justice said that it had “dismissed in its entirety the actions brought by Slovakia and Hungary.”

EU countries agreed in September 2015 to relocate 160,000 refugees from Greece and Italy over two years, but only around 27,700 people have been moved so far. Hungary and Slovakia were seeking to have the legally binding move annulled.

Hungary and Poland have refused to take part in the scheme, while so far Slovakia has accepted only a handful of refugees from Greece.

The refugee scheme was adopted by the EU’s “qualified majority” vote — around two thirds — and the ECJ held that this was appropriate, saying the EU “was not required to act unanimously” on this decision.

The court also noted that the small number of relocations so far is due to a series of factors that the EU could not really have foreseen, including “the lack of cooperation on the part of certain member states.”

Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico said he respected the court decision, but that his government still does not like the relocation scheme, which some see as a system of quotas imposed on countries by unelected EU bureaucrats in Brussels.

“We fully respect the verdict of the European Court of Justice,” Fico told reporters, adding that his country’s negative stance on the relocation plan “has not changed at all.”

Fico said the scheme was a temporary solution. He says he believes his country doesn’t face any sanctions from the EU over its stance. EU officials say the relocation of eligible asylum-seekers in Greece and Italy will continue even after the scheme ends.

Germany’s foreign minister welcomed the ruling. Sigmar Gabriel said he expects all EU countries to implement the decision “without further hesitation.”

Gabriel said the ruling confirms that the solidarity measure approved by EU leaders is not just in keeping with European values but also adheres fully to European law. He said “solidarity is not a one-way street.”

Human rights group Amnesty International welcomed the ruling, saying Hungary and Slovakia had been trying to turn their countries into “refugee-free zones.”

The Hungarian Helsinki Committee, an advocate for asylum-seekers, urged Hungary to give refugees an opportunity to make their case for asylum.

“The lesson of the verdict is that helping people fleeing war and terror is truly a common responsibility for Europe,” the group said. “Hungary needs to respect the decision of the EU court.”

Beside Hungary’s legal arguments against the EU plan, Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s government has also made the case and the issue the focal point of its political activities since early 2015 and ahead of parliamentary elections expected in April 2018.

Hungary’s position is that only its elected leaders should be able to decide who is allowed into the country. Orban has said that the large influx of mainly Muslim immigrants threatens Europe’s and Hungary’s cultural identity.

From mid-September 2015, Hungary closed off its southern border first with Serbia and later with Croatia, with a fence protected by razor wire. The fences have mostly stopped migrants from passing through Hungary on their way to Western Europe but Hungary has also greatly reduced the chances for asylum-seekers to submit applications for protection in the country.”

    • Listening to Hungarian radio on line this morning a call in show renders call after call of livid citizens. They understand completely and utterly the dynamic at play. They understand Merkel, Soros, battering rams, and much of the postmodernism at play. Remarkable considering the pervasive level of brainwashing in the West.

  9. U.S. apologizes for leaflet “highly offensive” to Muslims (cbsnews, Sep 6, 2017)
    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/us-afghanistan-anti-taliban-leaflet-dog-carrying-flag-islamic-verse/

“A U.S. commander on Wednesday apologized for leaflets dropped in Afghanistan that were deemed offensive to Islam.

The leaflets dropped Monday night, which encouraged Afghans to cooperate with security forces, included an image of a dog carrying the Taliban flag, said Shah Wali Shahid, the deputy governor of Parwan province. The flag has Islamic verses inscribed on it, and dogs are seen as unclean in much of the Muslim world.

“Local people are very upset with this incident, and they want the perpetrators brought to justice,” Shahid said, adding that demonstrations were expected across the province.

Maj. Gen. James Linder apologized, acknowledging in a statement that “the design of the leaflets mistakenly contained an image highly offensive to both Muslims and the religion of Islam.” He offered his “sincerest apologies for this error.”

Throughout the 16-year Afghan war, U.S. forces have struggled to convince ordinary Afghans to help them defeat the Taliban. Afghanistan is a deeply conservative country, and alleged blasphemy has sparked riots…”

    • Taliban suicide attack on US base in Afghanistan over leaflet ´insult´

KABUL: A suicide bomber riding a motorcycle blew himself up outside an American base in Afghanistan on Wednesday, Afghan officials said, in an attack the Taliban claimed was revenge for a US leaflet deemed highly offensive to Muslims.

US and Afghan authorities confirmed several people were wounded in the late afternoon attack at Bagram Airfield, America´s largest base in the country. The Taliban claimed responsibility and said it was in retaliation for “their insult to the Islamic creed”.

A spokeswoman for the Parwan provincial governor said “a suicide attacker on a motorbike detonated himself at the third gate of Bagram airbase”.

“The attacker was riding a motorcycle. Three wounded can be confirmed,” said Najib Danish, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

NATO´s Resolute Support mission said in a statement that “an explosion” had occurred “outside an entry control point” to Bagram that had caused a “small number of casualties”.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed the attacker had killed and wounded “over 20 soldiers”.

The incident came hours after US forces apologised for dropping leaflets in the northern province of Parwan, where Bagram is located, that allegedly depicted a lion chasing a white dog — the same colour as the Taliban´s flag.

The Islamic statement of faith — “There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is the messenger of Allah” — was superimposed on the dog´s body.

Dogs are seen as unclean creatures by some Muslims and the association of Islam with a canine in deeply religious Afghanistan has angered many people.

“Take back your freedom from these dogs. Help the security forces eliminate these enemies. Take back your freedom and ensure your security,” the leaflet says.

NATO forces frequently drop leaflets over large swathes of Afghanistan in an effort to persuade locals against supporting insurgents.

Social media users condemned the disrespectful design on the leaflets.

“Death to infidels, death to their servants,” one user posted on Facebook.

Another wrote: “They do this in a country with a 99.9% Muslim population. We will see how the (insurgents)… react.”

Major General James Linder, who heads the US and NATO special operations forces in Afghanistan, issued a statement apologising for the leaflet design which he said was an “error”.

Hassiba Efat, a member of the Parwan provincial council, told AFP: “The leaflets are very offensive to Islam”.

“The people in the villages are angry about it but so far we have had no reports of any demonstrations.

“They (foreign forces) have apologised and promised to collect as many of the leaflets as possible.”

It is not the first time US forces have caused offence in Afghanistan where they have spent the last 16 years waging war against the Taliban.

In 2012 US troops set fire to copies of the Quran, sparking days of protests in which about 40 people died.

The assailant, wearing a vest packed with explosives, was killed outside the police station in the Yenisehir district, which security sources said is located next to the regional headquarters of Turkey’s MIT national intelligence agency.

“One member of the Daesh terrorist organization, wearing a suicide bomb vest, was captured dead in front of the Mersin Yenisehir district’s … central police station,” the ministry said in a statement.

Police officers spotted the suspect behaving suspiciously some 50 meters (55 yards) from the police station at around 8:15 am (0515 GMT), the Mersin governor’s office said.

“Suspected militants from the Somali group al Shabaab beheaded four men in two different attacks in Lamu County on Kenya’s north coast on Wednesday, authorities said, a month after 12 people were killed in similar incidents in the region.

Lamu County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo said the attacks took place in Silini-Mashambani early on Wednesday where three were killed, while in a separate incident in Bobo village one person was killed.

Kitiyo said about 30 heavily-armed assailants went from house-to-house calling out victims by name before pulling some out and slitting their throats.

    • Aung San Suu Kyi lashes out at ‘misinformation’ from ‘terrorists’ as 126,000 Rohingya flee Burma

urma’s leader Aung San Suu Kyi has lashed out at “misinformation” from “terrorists” amid reports that the Burmese army has laced the country’s border with Bangladesh with landmines to target Rohingya refugees fleeing a violent military crackdown in the northwest Rakhine state.

Nearly 126,000 civilians from the Rohingya Muslim minority have now taken refuge in the squalor of overburdened relief camps in Bangladesh to escape a two-week “clearance operation” by the Burma security forces that has razed villages to the ground and left hundreds dead.

UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, on Tuesday warned of the risk of ethnic cleansing and regional destabilisation, expressing fears that the violence could spiral into a “humanitarian catastrophe.”

But despite facing a barrage of international criticism, particularly from outraged Muslim countries, former Nobel peace prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi has made no mention of the desperate plight of Rohingya civilians.

Instead she has blamed “terrorists” for “a huge iceberg of misinformation calculated to create a lot of problems between different countries.”

Her comments were made in a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, who has accused Burma, also known as Myanmar, of “genocide” against the Rohingya.

In a readout of their conversation, posted by her office on Facebook, Ms Suu Kyi referred to images of killings posted on Twitter by Turkey’s deputy prime minister that were later deleted as they were not from Burma.

She said the government had “already started defending all the people in Rakhine in the best way possible.”

Fake information has been fuelled by the government’s denial of access to Rakhine state for independent observers.

Human rights and aid workers depend for information on eyewitness accounts from the exhausted refugees streaming across the border, and on phone evidence gathered by an extensive network of Rakhine activists on the ground.

The absence of international monitors has allowed the army to easily deny atrocities.

On Wednesday a Burmese military source denied angry accusations from the Bangladesh government that soldiers had been laying landmines along the border over the past three days.

Meanwhile, the Burmese authorities bolstered their “terrorist” narrative by warning the public that insurgents from the Arakan Rakhine Salvation Army (ARSA) were planning to bomb civilians in major cities.

ARSA, who sparked the latest brutal crackdown by attacking paramilitary checkposts on August 25, have also been accused of killing dozens of ethnic Hindus in northern Rakhine state.

Tun Khin, President of the Burmese Rohingya Organisation UK, said ARSA had drawn “desperate youth” into its ranks but did not represent the general Rohingya population.

“The Rohingya reject violence and we are seeking a political solution,” he said.

Indonesia: Myanmar flag burned as Jakarta protesters decry persecution of Rohingya Muslims

    • SPUTNIK – Soros and Hydrocarbons: What’s Really Behind the Rohingya Crisis in Myanmar

The Rohingya conflict in Myanmar, which had caught its second wind in August 2017, appears to be a multidimensional crisis with major geopolitical players involved, experts say, referring to both internal and external reasons behind the recent upsurge in violence in the country.

The Rohingya conflict, which erupted between Buddhists and Muslims in Myanmar’s western Rakhine state in late August, was apparently fanned by external global players, Dmitry Mosyakov, director of the Centre for Southeast Asia, Australia and Oceania at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told RT.

According to the academic, the conflict has at least three dimensions.

“First, this is a game against China, as China has very large investments in Arakan [Rakhine],” Mosyakov told RT. “Second, it is aimed at fuelling Muslim extremism in Southeast Asia…. Third, it’s the attempt to sow discord within ASEAN [between Myanmar and Muslim-dominated Indonesia and Malaysia].”

According to Mosyakov, the century-long conflict is used by external players to undermine Southeast Asian stability, especially given the fact that what is at stake are vast reserves of hydrocarbons located offshore of the Rakhine state.
“There’s a huge gas field named Than Shwe after the general who had long ruled Burma,” Mosyakov said. “Additionally, the coastal zone of Arakan [Rakhine] almost certainly contains oil hydrocarbons.”

After the massive Rakhine energy reserves were discovered in 2004 they attracted China’s attention. By 2013 China completed oil and natural gas pipelines, which connect Myanmar’s port of Kyaukphyu with the Chinese city of Kunming in Yunnan province.

The oil pipeline allows Beijing to deliver Middle Eastern and African crude bypassing the Malacca Straits, while the gas pipeline is transporting hydrocarbons from Myanmar’s offshore fields to China.

According to Dmitry Egorchenkov, deputy director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Prognosis at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, it is hardly a coincidence. Although there are certain internal causes behind the Rohingya crisis, it could also be fueled by external players, most notably, the United States.
Myanmar’s destabilization may affect China’s energy projects and create a pocket of instability at Beijing’s doorstep. Given the ongoing crisis between the US and North Korea, another Chinese neighbor, Beijing may soon find itself caught in the crossfires.

Meanwhile, the Burma Task Force, which comprises a number of organizations funded by George Soros, has been actively operating in Myanmar since 2013 calling upon the international community to stop what they call “the genocide of the Rohingya Muslim minority group.” However, Soros’s interference in Myanmar’s domestic affairs goes deeper into the country’s history.

In 2003, George Soros joined a US Task Force group aimed at increasing “US cooperation with other countries to bring about a long overdue political, economic and social transformation in Burma [Myanmar].”

The Council of Foreign Relation’s (CFR) 2003 document entitled “Burma: Time For Change,” which announced the establishment of the group insisted that “democracy… cannot survive in Burma without the help of the United States and the international community.”
“When George Soros comes to this or that country… he looks for religious, ethnic or social contradictions, chooses the model of action for one of these options or their combination and tries to ‘warm they up,'” Egorchenkov explained, speaking with RT.

On the other hand, according to Mosyakov, it appears that some established global economies are seeking to contain the rapid economic development of ASEA nations, by instigating inner strife within the bloc.

The academic opined that the globalist management policy envisages sowing discord in stable regional formations. By fuelling regional conflicts external players jump at the opportunity to gain control over sovereign states and exert considerable pressure on them.

The recent Rohingya crisis started on August 25 when Muslim insurgents of Rohingya origin attacked security posts in Myanmar’s Rakhine state. The tough response of the country’s authorities triggered violent clashes, which claimed the lives of at least 402 people. However, according to some estimates, up to 3,000 Muslims were killed during the recent conflict.

The conflict that started about a century ago has gradually escalated since 2011, hitting its peak in 2012 when thousands of Muslim families sought asylum in the special refugee camps on the country’s territory or fled to Bangladesh. Yet another escalation started in 2016.

    • jihad watch -Iran, Vatican discuss plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar

Millions of Christians in the Middle East were murdered, displaced from their homes, forcibly converted to Islam, made to pay the jizya, enslaved, brutalized…did the Vatican ever discuss their plight at the state level with any government?

Maybe it did, but I am unaware of any such discussion. I do know that Pope Francis ran interference for the persecutors, making the flatly false statement that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.” He also said that “Muslim terrorism does not exist.”

So while a Vatican representative meets with the foreign minister of a state whose government orders its citizens to chant “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” in mosques every week, has the Vatican shown any concern for the Buddhists who have been displaced and murdered, and the Hindus who have been murdered by the Rohingya Muslims who started this conflict?

Iran, Vatican City Discuss Plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar

In a Wednesday meeting with Vatican City’s Paul Richard Gallagher in Tehran, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif referred to the issue of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and called on all countries to cooperate and join hands to stop the massacre and mass expulsion of Muslims in the country.

The Iranian top diplomat also appreciated Vatican City’s efforts in this regard.

Speaking about the crisis in the Korean Peninsula, the Iranian FM added that after the Cuban crisis the world has forgotten the danger of using these weapons, but again we are witnessing that this great danger is posing threats to the international community.

Talking about the region’s critical conditions, the Iranian foreign minister underlined the need for peaceful solutions to overcome these crises, stressing that the world’s problem today is extremism, which is not limited to a special region.

He also referred to the long-standing, respectful and reciprocal relations between Tehran and the Holy See (Vatican City) and emphasized the need for dialogue and effective cooperation between religions and civilizations.

“Iran respects the character and positions of the Pope,” Zarif went on to say.

In turn, Gallagher referred to Vatican City’s efforts to resolve the crisis in Myanmar, saying that “we will continue our efforts in this regard.”

He also discussed the shared views between Tehran and Vatican City on regional developments and dialogue and cooperation to end regional crises, the refugee crisis, and extremism.

He said Vatican City has supported the peaceful use of nuclear energy and Iran’s nuclear deal, and it still throws its weight behind it.

“Encouraging the culture of peace and the peaceful coexistence of religions in the Middle East should be pursued with earnestness and the Vatican has always supported this coexistence between religions,” he added.

The Iranian foreign minister and his counterpart from the Holy See also exchanged views on various political, social and inter-regional issues, expressing satisfaction with the process of dialogue between the two sides.

“Security forces in Spain and nearby Morocco have broken up an alleged Islamic State-linked extremist cell whose six members were actively training and planning to conduct violent attacks, authorities said Wednesday.

Five people were detained near the northern Moroccan city of Nador and one in the nearby Spanish enclave of Melilla, the Moroccan Interior Ministry said in a statement. The arrests came weeks after attacks by Spanish extremists with Moroccan links that killed 16 people around Barcelona.

Five of those detained on Wednesday are Moroccan and one is a Spaniard of Moroccan origin, Spain’s Interior Ministry said.

The alleged leader of the cell dismantled Wednesday was a 39-year-old living in Melilla who was arrested while visiting Morocco. He allegedly recruited youngsters at a reeducation center where he worked and used Islamic State group propaganda to train them, the ministry said in a statement.

Investigations found that members of the cell planned terrorist operations in Morocco and Spain, holding secret overnight meetings and carrying out training for eventual attacks with knives, the Moroccan Interior Ministry said in a statement…”

“Germany’s Foreign Ministry says Iraqi prosecutors have opened an investigation into four Germans, including a teenage girl, who were detained in Iraq on suspicion of sympathizing with the Islamic State group.

German officials said in July that the four — all female, including 16-year-old Linda Wenzel — were found in Iraq as Mosul was liberated from the Islamic State group. They have been trying to determine whether the four can return to Germany, where all face an investigation.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Schaefer said Wednesday that Iraqi authorities have opened investigations against the Germans. He said he doesn’t have details of what they’re accused of and German authorities haven’t yet seen an indictment.

Schaefer noted that Iraq is entitled under international law to insist that the four stand trial there.”

  18. Erdogan: EU must make up its mind on Turkey’s membership (abcnews, Sep 6, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/erdogan-eu-make-mind-turkeys-membership-49649971

“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday renewed his call to the European Union to make its up mind on whether it wants to continue membership talks with his country or end them, angered by a political debate in Germany that centered on how to deal with Turkey.

Addressing local leaders of his ruling party in the capital Ankara, Erdogan said he would not allow his country to become an “appetizer” for elections in Germany or other European nations.

Erdogan said: “It’s up to the EU to take a step. Either they will keep their promise and open the path of the membership process … or they need to say ‘we don’t want to continue on the path with Turkey.'”

“If you are not able to tolerate Turkey’s relations with the EU, come out and say so honestly and do whatever is necessary,” Erdogan said.

In a political debate ahead of this month’s German elections, Martin Schulz — Chancellor Angela Merkel’s main rival — said he would end talks on Turkey joining the EU because of Erdogan’s increasingly authoritarian policies. Merkel, who has previously expressed doubts about Turkey ever joining the EU, said Turkey “is departing from all democratic practices at breakneck speed.”

Relations between the two countries have been tense for months, with Turkey accusing Germany of harboring people with alleged links to last year’s failed coup against Erdogan as well as outlawed Kurdish militant groups. Berlin has accused Turkey of backsliding on democratic values and is angered by the arrest of 12 German citizens in Turkey for what Berlin considers political reasons.

Erdogan urged ethnic Turks in Germany not to vote for parties that he described as “Turkey’s enemies” in the elections, in an apparent reference to Merkel and Schulz’s parties.

He also questioned how European leaders — whom he accused of criticizing for electoral gains — would be able to face him after their elections are over.

“The style of politics that pivots around my person is of no benefit to European countries,” Erdogan said. “How will they look at my face when tomorrow comes?””

    – Over the last few hours, IS’s channels have posted calls for attacks on Europe, Russia and the United States, on the occasion of the Islamic “Sacrifice Feast” Eid al Adha.

In the third part of an English-language series promoting lone-wolf jihad in Western countries, potential attackers are advised to inject food for sale in markets with cyanide poison.

The terrorist organization has prepared for this and used prisoners for experiments with different chemicals and toxins, with very painful deaths as a result, The Times and Newsweek wrote in May:

The Islamic State group used prisoners as “human guinea pigs,” carrying out chemical weapons experiments in order to plan for attacks against the West, documents found in Mosul have revealed. The papers detailing the tests, which led to the agonizing deaths of prisoners, were discovered at Mosul University in January when it was recaptured by Iraqi special forces. The documents verified by United States and British forces were detailed by The Times in a report published Saturday.

Prisoners had their food and water contaminated by the sprinkling of chemicals found in easily accessible pesticides. The U.S. and Britain now fear that the same methods could be used on a larger scale to contaminate food supplies in the West.

  20. John Brennan Named Distinguished Fellow for Global Security

Former director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Brennan, Fordham College at Rose Hill (FCRH) ’77, has been appointed as the Distinguished Fellow for Global Security at Fordham Law School’s Center on National Security.

In an email to the Fordham community sent on the night of Sept. 4, University Provost Stephen Freedman said that Brennan “will contribute his expertise and insights as a leading practitioner in national security, foreign policy, governance, and the rule of law.” In his role as a Distinguished Fellow, he will participate in conferences, workshops and other events hosted by the Center on National Security, and will “also serve as a mentor to students who wish to know more about government service and professional opportunities in the field of national security.”

Most recently, Brennan served as the director of the CIA under President Barack Obama. Prior to holding that position, he served as Deputy National Security Advisor, Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism and founding Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. He has a total of 33 years of government service.

BRENNAN RECEIVED AN HONORARY DEGREE FROM FORDHAM IN 2012, AND WAS THE UNIVERSITY’S COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER THAT YEAR.

While at the Center on National Security, Brennan is planning on focusing on solutions to “some of the country’s foreign policy quandaries, including the North Korea crisis,” according to the New York Times.

  21. PJMEDIA – A New Obama? The Media Starts Selling Abdul El-Sayed

On August 24, the Guardian ran an unusually long profile of one Abdul El-Sayed, a 32-year-old Muslim doctor and son of Egyptian immigrants who is already campaigning heavily for governor of Michigan, even though the election won’t take place until November of next year. The headline on Drew Philp’s article dubbed El-Sayed “the new Obama.”

It was the ultimate puff piece, shameless in its utter lack of objectivity and balance, and it began, as such pieces invariably do, with an anecdote calculated to win sympathy for the subject. When he was seven years old, writes Philp, El-Sayed “sat in the eye of Hurricane Andrew,” drinking juice “while swaddled under mattresses between his father and stepmother, who was holding El-Sayed’s newborn baby brother just home from the hospital.”

  23. Taliban suicide attack on US base in Afghanistan over leaflet ‘insult’ (yahoo, Sep 6, 2017)
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/us-angers-afghans-offensive-leaflet-drop-070800159.html

“A suicide bomber riding a motorcycle blew himself up outside an American base in Afghanistan on Wednesday, Afghan officials said, in an attack the Taliban claimed was revenge for a US leaflet deemed highly offensive to Muslims.

US and Afghan authorities confirmed several people were wounded in the late afternoon attack at Bagram Airfield, America’s largest base in the country.

NATO’s Resolute Support mission said in a statement that “an explosion” had occurred “outside an entry control point” to Bagram that had caused a “small number of casualties”.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed the attacker had killed and wounded “over 20 soldiers”.

The incident came hours after US forces apologised for dropping leaflets in the northern province of Parwan, where Bagram is located, that allegedly depicted a lion chasing a white dog — the same colour as the Taliban’s flag.

The Islamic statement of faith — “There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is the messenger of Allah” — was superimposed on the dog’s body.

It is not the first time US forces have caused offense in Afghanistan where they have spent the last 16 years waging war against the Taliban.

In 2012 US troops set fire to copies of the Koran, sparking days of protests in which about 40 people died.”

  24. No Prosecution Necessary: UK Police Force Issues over 100 Cautions for Rape, Sexual Assault Against Children (breitbart, Sep 6, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/09/06/anger-uk-police-cautions-rape-sex-crimes/

“Campaigners and politicians have expressed concern over the revelation that Hampshire Police handed more than 100 cautions for rape and other serious sexual offences in the past five years.

Crimes including sex with children under the age of 18 and incest were met by the force with police cautions — formal warnings that serve as an alternative to prosecution in minor cases — according to an investigation by the Hampshire Chronicle.

Since 2014, Hampshire constabulary have cautioned four people for rape, and another six for serious sexual assaults including five counts which were carried out on children under the age of 16.

Another disclosure from the data, which was obtained via Freedom of Information requests, included that between 2011 and 2012 the police force handed out 18 cautions for sexual assaults.

Tory MP Mims Davies, said she was “surprised and concerned” by the statistics, and pledged to raise the issue with Hampshire’s chief police constable.

The Eastleigh MP told the Hampshire Chronicle “it does not seem right” for police to issue cautions in response to “such concerning crimes, where these offences have such a long term impact on the victims”.

Davies’ reaction to the data echoed that of charity Rape Crisis England, whose spokesman reported: “The use of cautions for sexual offences has been a cause for concern for some time.

“In the vast majority of cases where the offender is an adult, they seem wholly inappropriate, largely because they don’t in any way reflect the seriousness of the crime or the long-lasting and often devastating impacts that sexual violence has on lives.”

Responding to the Chronicle’s investigation, Hampshire Constabulary said all allegations of sexual offences are taken seriously and police officers sought to conduct thorough investigations as well as providing a compassionate and professional response to victims.

A spokesman added: “Investigations into these offences are among the most complex that our officers carry out and cautioning offenders is just one example of formal action open to the police in these cases

“Several factors will be considered when deciding whether a caution is an appropriate outcome, including the specifics of each offence, the wishes of the victim, and whether they support a prosecution through the courts.””

  25. What would actually happen if North Korea dropped a nuke on an American city? Here’s a look
By LU Staff September 6, 2017

North Korea tested a powerful nuclear device over the weekend, and it intends to mount this weapon on an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that can reach the U.S.

U.S. intelligence suggests that North Korea tested either a staged thermonuclear bomb or a boosted-fission device with an explosive yield around 150 kilotons, U.S. government sources told The Diplomat. Prior to the test, North Korea revealed images of a new thermonuclear warhead for its Hwasong-14 ICBM, which can strike targets across part, if not most, of the continental U.S.

North Korea called its nuclear test a “gift package” for the U.S., using wording it previously used to describe its ICBM.

  26. Bombshell: The NSA was in possession of the 30,000 ‘deleted’ Hillary emails and offered them to Comey
By Thomas Madison September 6, 2017

    Who politely refused.

Who knew the swamp was this deep? At 6? 8?, James Comey is going under.

A whistleblower reported last year that the National Security Agency (NSA) was in possession of Hillary Clinton’s deleted emails. With the corruption and lawlessness inside the Obama administration, the existence of those emails was a jealously guarded secret.

Now it is being reported that FBI director James Comey was offered those emails by the NSA — and he refused them, obviously to keep the likely very incriminating evidence out of the case he was charged with investigating impartially. The swamp gets deeper.

Numerous reports coming out of the Senate Judiciary Committee last week said that former Comey made the decision not to refer Clinton for prosecution long before he even interviewed key witnesses, including Hillary.

  27. ‘Officials’: Sheriff Clarke in talks for White House job, but John Kelly nixed it
    By J.E. Dyer September 5, 2017

This actually sounds more political of Kelly than I would expect, if you read the whole thing.

Officials in the West Wing tell The Daily Beast that Clarke had been in consideration for a White House post over the past seven weeks. But on Tuesday, the controversial former Milwaukee County lawman signed on with an outside group instead. He will serve as a spokesman and “senior adviser” for the pro-Trump super PAC America First Action.

Four sources working in and close to the Trump White House said his failure to land a gig in the West Wing or at the Department of Homeland Security, where Clarke unsuccessfully sought a job earlier this year, was in large part the result of opposition from White House chief of staff John Kelly. Kelly led DHS until late July.

Though Clarke had been discussed for a possible White House communications or outreach role, Kelly’s position as chief of staff made the arrangement a “non-starter,” as one senior White House official put it. Earlier this year, while serving as DHS Secretary, Kelly had informed Clarke that an appointment to that department would not happen in part due to scandal surrounding the treatment of inmates in Clarke’s jail, and the ensuing negative media attention. According to two sources familiar with the discussions, this led to Clarke formally “rescinding” his intention to join the Trump administration in mid-June.

I’d go slow with these reports that keep attributing policy infighting motives to the generals. Not that they wouldn’t infight over policy, but it would be really uncharacteristic for them to infight over the laundry list of political litmus-test policies the gossipy leftosphere outlets are so quick to sugges

    • She’s right to say go slow, but I’m not – to say the least – thrilled with the junta in the WH. Particularly with one still on active duty, if I’m not mistaken, who remains obsequious toward his former boss, the very-flawed Gen. Petraeus.

Too many people roll-over and play dead when they hear “General”.

Like others who get dewy when they hear "Prince" or bow reflexively before a "King". Even if the title was recently invented, to make a country of a sand-dune, and at the behest of a corporate interests like British Petroleum and Standard Oil.

I’m more cold-eyed, having had close experience with the breed. I pretty much agree with Presidents Washington and Eisenhower, both great generals, both warning of potential shortcomings.

      • What I am hoping/praying for is that when push comes to shove the “Generals” have enough honor left to be true to their oaths. It may be a vain hope but I realy hope it isn’t.

  28. ‘The Unbearable White of Medieval Studies’

Losing our faculties in many more ways than one.

I put my title in quotation marks because it does not originate with me (I wish it had!). It is a jibe coined by history professor Rachel Fulton Brown of the University of Chicago, who appears to delight in provoking her colleagues. She admires the wildly unfashionable ideals of chivalry — and she says so. In 2016 she posted on her blog a piece entitled, “Taking Points: Three Cheers for White Men.” And she insists that Western Civilization is “the source of those things which even [my leftwing colleagues] profess to value (tolerance, separation of Church and State, women’s rights).”

  29. Maine Democrats: Too Many Damn White People in This State!

It’s clear that Democrats have learned absolutely nothing from the 2016 election, and that’s as true in local politics as it is on the national stage. If they had, you wouldn’t have the lamentable scene in Maine on Wednesday, where a group of 10 Democrats held court in front of roughly 100 liberals in Lewiston, each of them trying to out-progressive the other. With seven of the attending Democrats hoping to take Paul LePage’s place in the governor’s mansion when voters go to the polls and three looking to join the state congress, it was a free-for-all for leftist, racial identity politics, the kind for which there may not be much appetite in the largely rural New England state.

But that, according to at least some in attendance, is part of the problem: The state of Maine isn’t just suffering from a bad, Trump-supporting Republican governor, they say. It’s suffering because the population is just too damn WHITE! Because, as the organizers said – “Now, more than ever, we need progressive leaders who will work to help everyday Mainers and fight back against the racist and xenophobic rhetoric and policies coming from Washington and Augusta.”

  30. Two Major Antifa Groups Spout North Korean Propaganda
    And yet they operate unmolested.

Two leading anti-Trump resistance groups, Refuse Fascism and the Workers World Party, are siding with the gulag-filled Stalinist hermit state of North Korea that has threatened to incinerate the American homeland with nuclear weapons, evidence suggests.

Both of these extreme-left organizations have organized demonstrations against the Trump administration that have turned violent, including those around Inauguration Day. Both groups are also part of the violent “Antifa” coalition of leftist groups that portray themselves as anti-fascist but embrace fascistic tactics like beating up political adversaries to intimidate them into silence.

Both groups are also spouting pro-North Korean propaganda talking points, and in at least one case, copying and pasting official North Korean statements into communiques.

  31. Mayor Declares Bankrupt Murder City a “Trump-Free Zone” for Illegal Aliens

Illegal aliens in Chicago don’t have to fear being deported to Mexico. Instead they have to fear being shot on the street. Or being stuck in a failed state. On second thought, maybe Mexico would be an improvement.

“To all the Dreamers that are here in this room, and in the city of Chicago, you are welcomed in the city of Chicago. This is your home and you have nothing to worry about,” Emanuel said in a prepared statement.

“Chicago, our schools, our neighborhoods, our city, as it relates to what President Trump said, will be a Trump-free zone. You have nothing to worry about,” Emanuel continued.

You have nothing to worry about, guys. You’re in Chicago. The safest place on earth that doesn’t have “Sudan” or “Iran” in its name.

  32. Oh Lordy! New Study Indicates White Christians No Longer a Majority in the US (sputniknews, Sep 6, 2017)
    https://sputniknews.com/us/201709071057158868-white-christians-no-loner-majority/

“A survey released Wednesday indicates that white Christians are no longer a majority population in the US, as the number of people eschewing organized religion and an influx of immigrants has shifted the country’s demographics in recent years.

According to the Washington-based Public Religion Research Institute (PRRL), Christianity is still the predominant faith in the US, with 70 percent of Americans identifying as such, but white Christians, who once made up the lion’s share of the group now only comprises 43 percent of the population.

This is a considerable difference from when eight in 10 Americans were white Christians 40 years ago…”

  33. Migrants still risking Mediterranean’s perils as rescues dip (abcnews, Sep 6, 2017)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/migrants-risking-mediterraneans-perils-rescues-dip-49662639

“While the number of Europe-bound migrants rescued on the main Mediterranean Sea route has dropped off dramatically this summer, hundreds are still risking their lives in hopes of reaching Italy — and still being plucked to safety.

The rescue vessel run by Spanish humanitarian group ProActiva Open Arms picked up more than 200 migrants on Wednesday from several flimsy dinghies that human smugglers had launched from Libya’s shores.

Among them was a 9-months’ pregnant woman from Ghana who ended up giving birth to a daughter aboard the Open Arms as it patrolled some 25 miles north of the Libyan coastal town of Al Khums.

“She started to labor. After 10 minutes’ labor the baby was born, but there was no crying,” rescue volunteer Francisco Gentico told The Associated Press. “It was really hard because we thought she was dying but, finally and luckily, she’s alive and beautiful.”

The mother, whose name is Peace, cradled her newborn while her husband praised God.

“God is great. I believe in God,” Simon Yeboha said. “Only God can do this, there is no one like him.”

Mother and child were transferred to an Italian naval vessel for medical treatment and then taken by helicopter to Italy, where Yeboha hopes to re-join them.

European Union nations have expressed relief at the falling number of migrants rescued at sea this summer compared to a year earlier. Many of the migrants are fleeing poverty and not eligible for asylum. Italy, which has received hundreds of thousands of rescued migrants in the last few years, in particular has struggled to care for the newcomers.

As of Sept. 3, 99,846 migrants were rescued on the Libya-Italy sea route this year, compared to the 121,385 taken off smuggler’s boats during the same period of 2016, according to the United Nations migration agency.

Much of the fall-off happened in August, which is when Italy insisted that groups that wanted to bring rescue boats to Italian ports needed to adhere to strict rules that included not venturing into Libyan territorial waters. Several groups, citing threats from Libya’s coast guard, decided to suspend rescues.

Backed by Italy, the struggling government in Tripoli has paid militias implicated in trafficking to now choke off the migrant boat flow, militia and security officials told The Associated Press recently. Italy also has trained and equipped Libya’s coast guard to drive back the smugglers boats.

Still, some smugglers’ boats are launched. Wednesday’s rescue took place in waters somewhat to the east of the area where traffickers had launched most of their earlier trips. Different alternate routes seem to be emerging daily.

Some 50 migrants, most of them from Iraq, were spotted Wednesday on Lipari, the biggest island in the Aeolian archipelago north of Sicily, Italy’s state television RAI said. Island Mayor Marco Giorgianni said it was the first time migrants ever reached Lipari.”

  35. Anti-left ‘kill list’ kept by German lawyer and policeman (DW, Sep 6, 2017)
    http://www.dw.com/en/anti-left-kill-list-kept-by-german-lawyer-and-policeman/a-40387021

“Evidence of a far-right terror group is growing after the discovery of a “kill list” of left-wing politicians to be murdered if social order collapsed. Is Germany ignoring a right-wing threat from the middle of society?

The German Justice Ministry has confirmed that investigators found a folder containing the names, addresses and photos of “representatives of the left-wing political spectrum” which had been kept “for criminal purposes” duringlast week’s raids against suspected far-right terrorists in the northern state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

In an answer to an official information request filed by the socialist Left party, the Justice Ministry said an investigation for “preparation of a serious act of violence against the state” had been opened against two men on August 15. The investigation is understood to be a corollary of the case against Bundeswehr soldier Franco A., who had allegedly been planning to carry out a terrorist attack while posing as a Syrian refugee.

At 4 a.m. on August 28, police deployed dogs and stun grenades to raid the homes and offices of the two men, identified as a police officer in the small town of Ludwigslust and a Rostock-based lawyer and local politician – named as Jan Hendrik H. – who are believed to have hoarded weapons and food.

Other properties in several towns in the region were also searched, though their owners are not considered suspects, and Jan Hendrik H. has denied that he kept “anything like a death list.”

    Preparing for social collapse

The lawyer is a former member of the free-market, liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP), and a current ally of a small local political group called “Independent Citizens for Rostock,” whose leader, Malte Philipp, told Die Welt newspaper that he was shocked at the investigation. He said he had always thought Hendrik H. was “economically liberal and completely free of all extremist positions.”

Federal prosecutors, who automatically take over any state investigation into possible terrorist activity, said in a statement that the two suspects were part of a network that exchanged messages with other people in various chat groups that mainly discussed the “from their point of view misguided refugee and immigration policy” and other political topics.

Prosecutors said the chat group members believed that the policy would drain private and public budgets, cause an increase in terror attacks and other crimes and, eventually, lead to “a collapse of state order.”

To prepare for this, some of the members collected guns, ammunition and food and appear to have seen the ensuing social disorder as a chance to murder people they deemed leftists.
    Middle-class Nazi murderers

Neither the prosecutors or the Justice Ministry revealed who was on the list, how many names it contained or whether those on the list had been warned – nor did the authorities say how many people belonged to the far-right chat groups in question.

But Left party Bundestag member Martina Renner – who conferred with local Left party groups in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania – said she believes that the list included dozens of people, as well as people who worked for local refugee support groups. She also criticized authorities for not informing individuals on the list of the potential threat.

Renner said she believes that the chat groups contained around 30-40 people – and they were not what she called “typical neo-Nazi cells.”

“A network that contains police officers, soldiers, lawyers, and local politicians has a different quality to the classic neo-Nazi network,” she said.

“These people have legal access to weapons, and if they decide to create a far-right terrorist group then they pose a very different danger because security forces don’t automatically keep an eye on such people,” she added. “The security forces urgently need to re-think their strategy – because this threat is coming from the center of society.”

The Left party politician also said politicians and security forces have been complicit in consistently diminishing the threat posed by neo-Nazi terrorists. “These people are neither crazy nor harmless,” she said. “They turn their words into actions – they don’t just talk. We’ve had right-wing terror in German since the 1950s, and it’s always been played down.”

She added that this and other recent cases, like the botchedinvestigations into the National Socialist Underground, have shown “there has always been a conscious and basic neglect of far-right terrorism in Germany.”

For the Left party, this threat also comes in the context of ongoing vandalism that their offices are often subject to in some parts of Germany. “If I’m a Left politician and I call the police because my office got smashed in, then of course I have to trust them. But now we have to be more suspicious,” Renner said. “Up to now, they’ve always said they were isolated cases, but you get a bad feeling.” “

  36. Report: Swedes born in Asia, Africa vote less, more left-wing (thelocal, Sep 6, 2017)
    https://www.thelocal.se/20170906/report-swedes-born-in-asia-africa-vote-less-more-left-wing

“Swedish nationals born in Africa and Asia tend to vote significantly less than other Swedes, and are more prone to vote for left-wing parties, a new government-commissioned report shows.

With one year left before Sweden’s parliamentary elections, a group of 12 researchers have completed a report on the voting behavior and political representation of foreigners, foreign-born Swedes, and native Swedes. The study was carried out by The Migration Studies Delegation (Delmi) whose findings are used as a basis for Sweden’s migration policies.

The report showed that not only is the voting participation among people born in Africa and Asia significantly lower than among other Swedes, but warned that due to current migration trends, this gap is at risk of widening, at the cost of a balanced and well-functioned democracy.

“Among Swedish citizens with origins in the Nordics, North America, Oceania and Latin America, voting participation was at around 80 percent, while the share of Swedes who voted and were born in Africa and Asia was below 70 percent,” the report said.

“If democracy loses its legitimacy among large groups in society, there’s a risk it will shake to its core.”

Commenting on the findings in an opinion piece in Dagens Nyheter, authors and researchers Pieter Bevelander and Mikael Spång wrote that: “The fact that most of those who immigrate to Sweden today come from these regions indicates that voter participation could fall further in the future.”

“Two important factors to explain this are level of education and revenues. We know since previously that individuals with lower wages and education vote less. Foreign-born Swedes are overrepresented in both those groups.”

The report also found that Swedes born abroad, or with parents of foreign origin, tend to vote more left-wing: on the governing Social Democrats and the Left Party.

Another interesting find is the wide gap between Swedes’ and foreign-born Swedes’ representation in politics. Delmi said that on a local level, socio-economic factors like education, profession and revenue, only play a minor role. Instead, it has to do with the fact that most foreign-born Swedes live in larger municipalities where a person seeking a political mandate will need more votes than in smaller municipalities.

When it comes to internal party recruitments, Delmi said knowledge, the political language used and networks seemed to be deciding factors.

“The roles as a ‘migrant politician’ can offer an inroad to politics, but can, in the long run, also become an obstacle for a continued political career.”

The Delmi report is being presented at a seminar at the government on Wednesday.”
