    A research paper, reported on but not published by The Australian newspaper, was said to go into detail about how teenage users post about self-image, weight loss and other issues.

    Facebook confirmed the research was shared with advertisers, but said the article was “misleading”…”

    “Australian militants are using readily available travel and gift cards to travel to Middle East conflict zones and bankroll terrorist attacks, an intelligence agency report has found.

    More than 10m “stored-value cards” are active in Australia – worth more than $1.5bn – and are highly vulnerable to criminal exploitation, the report by Austrac said.

    “In Australia, foreign fighters have used SVCs to fund their terrorist activity before and after departure to the conflict zone, and have been used to facilitate money laundering and cyber-enabled fraud,” the justice minister, Michael Keenan, said on Tuesday.

    “Internationally, we have seen SVCs used to fund terrorist attacks, including the horrific terrorism attacks in Paris in November 2015.”

    The Austrac report identified 12 instances within two years where the cards were highly likely to have been used to finance terrorism. They involve more than $170,000 loaded on to the cards in Australia and redeemed in countries bordering Syria, including Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon.

    Austrac traced a further 66 suspicious transactions, including stored-value cards redeemed in jurisdictions considered high risk for terrorism financing or transit hubs for terrorism…”

  3. A new paradigm is required, we know. Our manufacturing has gone to slaves while our unions are neck deep in all the lies of social justice. The hipocracy is bracing and sad. Reclaiming market share will require war, unfortunately. Just as the Chinese are hoarding gold to reach parity with the U.S. so that they may “sit at the table” to negotiate their place in the Reset, so should America demand market share for manufacturing. This time we should be smart and negotiate the terms of peace before the war by using gold as leverage. This will undermine the severity of the conflicts and avoid the nuclear option. The only nuclear option should be that proposed by Antal Fekete.

      A conservative commentator who sparked a firestorm after detailing what she said were uncomfortable meetings with Sean Hannity said she was not sexually harassed by the Fox News host.

      Mulitple media outlets reported that the conservative commentator, Debbie Schlussel, claimed she was sexually harassed by Hannity. But in an interview with Newsweek on Monday morning, Schlussel says: “I never used the word ‘sexual harassment’ in the radio interview.”

  9. THAAD missile defense system initially capable in S.Korea – sources

    WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. military’s THAAD missile defense system in South Korea has reached an initial operating capability to defend against North Korean missiles, U.S. officials said on Monday, forging ahead with the system despite staunch objections from China.

    Beijing has opposed activation of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), arguing the system’s radar could be used to spy into its territory, despite assurances from Washington that THAAD is purely defensive.

    The United States is looking for China to use its influence with Pyongyang to rein in its advancing nuclear and missile programs, and it is unclear how Beijing will react to the development.

    U.S. President Donald Trump has said a “major, major conflict” with North Korea is possible, and THAAD’s activation adds another layer of complexity to escalating tensions.

    The system has also generated controversy in South Korea. The favorite to win South Korea’s presidential election on May 9, has called for deployment to be delayed until after the next administration is in place and can review the decision.

    Local residents have worried they will be a target for North Korean missiles.

      • There are several possibly explanations for what China is doing, 1) moving 150,000 troops to the border reiongs, 2) moving massive numbers of Chinese-Korean Translators to the border regions, 3 Running their mouths about how all of the moves that the US and our allies are taking in self defense are provoking a war 4) Having one of their ships fire some missiles in the direction of South Korea. One is that they are getting ready to back their Korean puppet we we move to take out his offensive equipment. There are massive risks in this move but if it pays off it would give China immense power in the Far East. The next is that they are running their mouths to sound tough and not lose as much face when we hit NORK. A third is they are getting ready to do one of the first two depending on how they read President Trump and his resolve when push comes to shove. I don’t think they want war with the US at this moment but I don’t think they will always back away from a war with us.

    A Chinese town near the border with North Korea is “urgently” recruiting Korean-Chinese interpreters, stirring speculation that China is bracing for an emergency situation involving its nuclear-armed neighbor.

    The Oriental Daily, a Hong Kong-based news outlet published the story on Apr. 27, including a photo of a Chinese government document ordering the town of Dandong to recruit an unspecified number of Korean-Chinese interpreters to work at 10 departments in the town, including border security, public security, trade, customs and quarantine.

    The document did not specify the reason for the unusual, large-scale recruiting. But experts and local citizens said the move indicated that China was bracing for a possible military clash between the United States and North Korea.

    This might trigger a huge exodus of North Koreans to border towns in China.

  12. Germany: Migrant Crime Spiked in 2016

    An official annual report about crime in Germany has revealed a rapidly deteriorating security situation in the country marked by a dramatic increase in violent crime, including murder, rape and sexual assault.

    The report also shows a direct link between the growing lawlessness in Germany and Chancellor Angela Merkel’s decision to allow in more than one million mostly male migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

    The report — Police Crime Statistics 2016 (Polizeiliche Kriminalstatistik, PKS) — was compiled by the Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt, BKA) and presented by Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière in Berlin on April 24.

    The number of non-German crime suspects (nichtdeutsche Tatverdächtige) legally residing in Germany jumped to 616,230 in 2016, up from 555,820 in 2015 — an increase of 11% — according to the report. Although non-Germans make up approximately 10% of the overall German population, they accounted for 30.5% of all crime suspects in the country in 2016, up from 27.6% in 2015.

    In this year’s report, the BKA created a separate subcategory called “migrants” (Zuwanderer) which encompasses a combination of refugees, pending asylum seekers, failed asylum seekers and illegal immigrants.

    According to the BKA, the number of migrant crime suspects (tatverdächtiger Zuwanderer) in Germany in 2016 jumped to 174,438 from 114,238 in 2015 — up 52.7%. Although “migrants” made up less than 2% of the German population in 2016, they accounted for 8.6% of all crime suspects in the country — up from 5.7% in 2015.

      One predominantly Peul faction of the mostly Muslim Seleka group has been fighting since late 2016 with another faction that has aligned itself with the Christian anti-Balaka group as they are vying for control of the central part of the country, the rights group said.

      “Civilians on all sides are exposed,” said Lewis Mudge, Africa researcher at Human Rights Watch.

      The death toll is likely higher because many people remain missing, the rights group said after a visit to Ouaka province in April. Those displaced since March have sought shelter in the provincial capital, Bambari, and access to food and shelter remain a problem.

  15. Germany Hit by Merkel’s Imported Crime Wave

    At the height of the European migrant crisis in early 2016, when masses of migrants were pouring into Europe, the German Green Party Chairwoman Katrin Göring-Eckardt could not control her joy. “We have just received an unexpected gift in the form of people,” she told her fellow Germans, reminding them to be grateful. This gift, she said, was going to make the country “more religious, more colourful, more diverse and younger.” It was gift, it turns out, that keeps on giving.

    According to the country’s annual crime report, compiled by the Federal Crime Bureau (BKA), there has been a more than 50% rise in migrant crime in the country compared to the year before.

    The German newspaper Die Welt, which received an advance copy of the annual crime report, wrote:

    “The number of immigrants suspected of criminal acts in 2016 has risen by 52.7 percent, to the figure of 174,438, compared to the previous year. To ensure a fair comparison with the rest of the population, crimes that only immigrants can commit, such as illegal entry to the country, have been taken out from the statistics. The annual police report (PKS) shows that there were total of 616,230 crime suspects of foreign origin last year. The migrant share [of total crime figures] was disproportionately large, namely 174,438 — more than a quarter.”

    These staggering crime statistics are even more alarming if one looks through the narrow definition German government uses to denote a “criminal migrant”. As Die Welt explains, these crime figures do not take into account “foreigners who have been living and working in Germany for some time, but only a specific group of protection-seekers [refugees].”

    The Darul Uloom Institute — who? — in Pembroke Pines, Florida will hold its annual fundraising dinner and awards ceremony on May 6. If it is anything like last year’s gala, which saw honors go to a prominent local politician, a rabbi, and a pastor, you will hear some “moderate” messaging.

    Do not, however, let this radical Islamic center’s attempt to ingratiate itself into mainstream American society fool you. Its history is mired in violence and hate.

    The Darul Uloom Institute was founded by its imam, Shafayat Mohamed, in October 1994. Originally from Trinidad, Mohamed left for India in 1975, where he was educated at Darul Uloom Deoband, the school where the hardline Sunni Deobandi movement was established in May 1866. In a show of favor to his student, Darul Uloom Deoband selected Mohamed to lead a group of Americans in a 1979 tour of its facilities.

    Since its creation, the Deobandi movement has produced a number of militant offshoots, most notably the Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and spread its tentacles around the world, including in the United States. Mohamed returned from India and set up one such tentacle in Florida.

    Shortly after its founding, Mohamed’s institute became affiliated with “dirty bomber” Jose Padilla, a soon-to-be al-Qaeda operative who plotted to set off a radiological bomb in the U.S. Padilla, then a recent convert to Islam, was a student of Mohamed’s and attended the institute from 1995 through 1997. The following year, Padilla abandoned his wife and home in Florida for Egypt and then Pakistan, on his way to becoming a full-blown terrorist.

    VALLETTA (Reuters) – Turkey under President Tayyip Erdogan has turned its back on joining the European Union, at least for now, the bloc’s top official dealing with Ankara said, offering economic cooperation instead if both sides can restore friendly ties.

    After years of stalemate on Turkey’s bid to join the world’s biggest trading bloc, EU governments say the process is dead, citing Erdogan’s crackdown on dissidents, his ‘Nazi’ jibes at Germany and a referendum giving him sweeping new powers that a rights group says lack checks and balances.

    “Everybody’s clear that, currently at least, Turkey is moving away from a European perspective,” European Commissioner Johannes Hahn, who oversees EU membership bids, told Reuters.

    “The focus of our relationship has to be something else,” he said in an interview after EU foreign ministers met in Malta and where France and Germany led efforts to consider a new deal with Ankara based on trade and security ties.

    “We have to see what could be done in the future, to see if we can restart some kind of cooperation,” Hahn said on Saturday, saying that he had not had meetings on the economy with NATO-member Turkey since January last year, normally a fixture of accession talks.

  21. A Welsh schoolgirl who was taken to Saudi Arabia against her will and allegedly held as a prisoner by her father was failed by the authorities, it has been claimed, after she raised the alarm with her school months before she was taken away.

    Amina al-Jeffery spoke to school staff about her fears early in 2012, and had made a similar appeal at her previous school in 2011, according to the Henna Foundation, a charity that says it was consulted on the case. But there was no intervention by the authorities before she was taken to Saudi Arabia in April 2012.

    The charity also says police in Swansea were warned that Jeffery was at risk of being forcibly taken to Jeddah but failed to follow advice to apply for a protection order that would have kept her safe. The police say they received no such warning.

    KXAN reports that Kendrex J. White attacked his victims with a “Bowie-style” hunting knife and that the victim who died was identified as 19-year-old Harrison Brown. All of the victims were male students who attended UT Austin. Three of them were white and one was Asian, according to Fox News. According to The Tab, one is believed to be in the Lambda Chi fraternity. Even more intriguing, KXAN reports that an eyewitness claimed that Kendrex White attacked a sorority girl before stabbing his victims. UT Austin student Nidia Cavazos explained,

    “He kicked a sorority girl to the point where she almost fell. A little bit later, that same guy ended up pulling out the knife. Everybody started yelling and running in our direction.”

    More than 30 civilians and Kurdish-led fighters have been killed in an attack by Islamic State militants near Syria’s north-eastern border with Iraq.
    They targeted a makeshift camp for displaced Syrians and Iraqi refugees at Rajm al-Salibi, near the town of Shaddadi in Hassakeh province.
    The militants also also clashed with members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) stationed at a nearby checkpoint.
    The US-backed alliance is spearheading the battle against IS in eastern Syria.

    Saudi Aramco has become a 100-percent owner of Port Arthur, an oil refinery in Texas. Port Arthur has a capacity of 600,000 barrels per day, making it the biggest in North America.
    The kingdom’s national oil company previously owned 50 percent in the refinery before acquiring the full stake from Royal Dutch Shell on Monday. Complicated relations between the companies forced them to separate their assets. On Monday, Shell announced the divorce was complete.

    Saudis also acquired 24 distribution terminals, Aramco said in a statement. The Saudi firm also got the exclusive right to sell Shell-branded gasoline and diesel in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, the eastern half of Texas, and the majority of Florida.

  28. In a 22-10 vote, UNESCO’s Executive Board disavowed Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem on the country’s Independence Day.

    The United States and six of the European Union countries voted against it: Italy, UK, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Greece and Germany. Paraguay, Togo and the Ukraine also opposed it.

    Among the countries that opposed the measure were: Russia, Iran, South African, Japan and Brazil.

    Israel’s Ambassador to UNESCO Carmel Shama said that the number of countries who support Israel or abstained was a “significant victory” given how little support the Jewish state typically has in the United Nations.

    We’ve been talking about Australian politicians’ odd obsession with passing ever more draconian data retention rules for years now. As you may recall, the politicians pushing for this appeared to have absolutely no clue what it actually entailed. Just a few months ago, we wrote about reports about how Australia’s data retention laws had been abused to spy on journalists and their sources. While some parts of the law went into effect a year and a half ago, it appears some parts just went into effect a few weeks ago. These new rules require every ISP to retain metadata on all online communications for at least two years. And… it took just about two weeks before the Australian Federal Police (AFP) were forced to admit that it had used the info to spy on journalists (again). They insist this was a mistake, of course.

  30. Eileen Scheff — who has represented BAMN on multiple occasions, including at the Supreme Court — has been a self-described “member of NAMBLA.” The bulletin identified Scheff as an RWL member.

    Scheff has been identified as a founder of BAMN.

    Peter Schmidt, a senior writer for the Chronicle of Higher Education, wrote in a book for which Scheff was interviewed that she “helped found” BAMN, in addition to serving as its legal counsel. “Affirmative action was built by people taking direct militant action,” she told Schmidt, explaining BAMN’s riotous approach to activism.

    At a 1991 NAMBLA press conference, Scheff denounced the “witch-hunt” against pedophiles.

    “As an activist in the legal and political struggle for lesbian/gay rights and for freedom of sexual expression, I am here to support NAMBLA and to demand that the witch-hunt against it must be stopped,” Scheff said at the conference. “The media and police are targeting NAMBLA because it stands for the rights of young people to have consensual sex with whomever they want.”

  31. SPAIN – Detained an Imam in Teulada for giving refuge to jihadists from Syria and Iraq

    The Police accuse the suspect of being integrated in Daesh and of informing the Islamic community with propaganda praising the attacks from the terrorist organisation.

    The National Police swooped yesterday in Teulada-Moraira a new operation against jihadist terrorism in the province which ended with the arrest of the Imam ‘Abu Adam’, a 48 year old Egyptian named Hesam Shashaa accused of giving refuge to jihadists.

    The prisoner acted as Imam in the Munich mosque and currently was enjoying a privileged position inside the Islamic community in the province of Alicante. After the arrest his mansion was searched for 10 hours where he lives with 15 children and three of his wives. The estate stretches across more than ten thousand square metres in the area of Moraira.

    The Police accuse the man in custody of being integrated in Daesh terrorist organisation, lauding terrorism and brainwashing Salafist Jihadist ideals.

    One of his main activities of the suspect was to help combatants return from Syria or Iraq by giving resources and accommodation, according to the Interior Ministry.

    The detention of Hesam Shashaa was realised early yesterday morning after an investigation realised by agents from the General Information Commissariat of the Alicante Provincial Brigade. He was captured when returning home after leaving his sons in a nearby college. He has 16 children from four wives, and only three were present who observed the searching granted to the Police by a judicial commission.

    Support anti-terrorist agents arrived from Madrid and Alicante in the operation which swooped on his residence by the Police Intervention Unit, Scientific Police, Police Canine Unit and specialists in finding metals underground. National Court magistrate Eloy Velasco supervised the operation which remains open.

    The search of the mansion started at 10am and ended around 8pm when he was removed blanket over his head to Alicante and later to Madrid placed under the diligences of the National Court. The Police also removed several boxes of evidence.

    Si nos retrotraemos a enero de 2015, el denominado Comisionado para el diálogo interreligioso, Abu Adam Shashaa, imán de la mezquita Darul Quran en Múnich, detenido ayer en su mansión ubicada en el Camino del Rey, a tan solo unos pocos cientos de metros de la conocida área de la Font Santa en el municipio teuladino, sorprendía con unas declaraciones, cuando menos sorprendentes. Entonces el líder religioso se desmarcaba del terrorismo yihadista y arremetía durante contra los terroristas: “¿No sé cuándo pararán esos despiadados, que dicen pertenecer al islam, sus barbaries y sus brutales acciones terroristas y sangrientas?, ¿no sé cuándo se despertarán esos despiadados? ¿A caso lo harán después con las decenas de millones de musulmanes que han escogido a occidente como sus patrias después de huir de la dureza de sus vidas en sus tierras natales y les han privado de sus libertades religiosas? ¿Acaso quieren hacerlo después de que Europa se convierta en la nueva Inquisición andaluza? ¿O es que lo harán después de obligar a los musulmanes a convertirse a otras religiones para salvarse del sufrimiento y de la opresión?” En el mismo contexto reflexionaba: “Los terroristas con sus actos terroríficos y con sus asesinatos lo que conseguirán con certeza es tener el mismo final que han tenido sus semejantes que sembraron el terror y el mal anteriormente”

    Pues bien, a pesar de sus palabras y su deseo de asentar en Teulada-Moraira un centro de formación para los imanes de todo el territorio nacional como así puso de manifiesto en una entrevista en exclusiva a este periódico en febrero de 2015, el imán Abu Adam Shashaa, fue detenido ayer por su presunta integración en la organización terrorista DAESH, por nada menos que, enaltecimiento del terrorismo y adoctrinamiento del ideario salafista yihadista.

    Un duro golpe para la amplia comunidad musulmana que reside en el municipio ya que por desgracia el cliché de la negativa percepción ciudadana sobre esta comunidad es algo a lo que se deben enfrentar diariamente y este tipo de detenciones no ayudan en esta labor.

    El amplio despliegue ayer de la Policía Nacional en Teulada Moraira, no pasó desapercibida, en especial a los vecinos del área del Camino del Rey. Durante 10 horas la mansión donde reside el líder religioso, junto a sus 15 hijos y cuatro esposas, fue minuciosamente inspeccionada en busca de pruebas que le podrían incriminar en pertenencia a la organización terrorista DAESH.

    El comunicado desde el Ministerio de Gobierno es contundente al menos en cuanto a las acusaciones ya que señala que el detenido aprovechaba su posición privilegiada dentro de la Comunidad Islámica de la provincia de Alicante para difundir entre la misma contenidos que ensalzaban los atentados cometidos por la organización terrorista DAESH y menospreciando de forma cruel a sus víctimas. Además, utilizaba las redes sociales como instrumento para generar un relato de odio con la publicación de vídeos en los que líderes terroristas instaban a hacer la yihad violenta como método de adoctrinamiento a sus seguidores.

    Además, el Ministerio de Gobierno también señala que la labor principal del detenido era la de facilitar el regreso de terroristas de DAESH que habían decidido abandonar Siria e Irak, proveyéndoles de los lugares necesarios de tránsito y refugio, fundamentalmente en España, así como auxiliándoles en las labores de documentación y obtención de recursos económicos. El retorno de terroristas desde zonas de conflicto a suelo europeo constituye una de las principales amenazas tanto para la seguridad nacional como para la del entorno europeo.

    Así pues, por todo la anterior, se podría afirmar que tras el supuesto cargo internacional como Comisionado para el diálogo interreligioso del imán Abu Adam Shashaa, y vista las pruebas que se le imputan, detrás de la piel de cordero se encontraba un lobo.

      A Muslim imam who lectures on non-violence and advises the German government on interfaith issues has been arrested in Germany for beating up his wife.

      Sheikh Abu Adam, 40, is now on remand in Munich while his wife, 31, is being guarded by police.

      She was allegedly assaulted so badly that she suffered a broken nose and shoulder and numerous cuts and bruises.

      Media reports claimed the woman, who has borne one of his ten children, wanted to live a more ‘western’ lifestyle and was allegedly attacked after telling her husband.

      The police said they received a call from a lawyer hired by the victim.
      Adam is alleged to have shouted a verse from the Koran at his wife as he beat her.

      The line said: ‘Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them.

      ‘As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.’

      The imam is said to have refused to let police officers into his home, but they forced their way past him because they feared the woman’s life was in danger.

      Sheikh Adam is the Egyptian imam of the Darul Quran Mosque in Munich.
      He is facing charges of causing grievous bodily harm and could face a jail term if convicted.

      A week ago, he held a lecture at the city’s Catholic University entitled ‘An Islam which distances itself from violence’.

      He also spoke at a recent conference called ‘meeting Islam in Europe’ and met German justice Sabine Leutheusser Schnarrenberger there.

      Adam was assigned bodyguards on the outside because of his calls for Muslims to reject radical Islam. He is also being guarded while on remand from racist prisoners.

If a Gazan went to live in Nablus, he would be in a bad situation. Even more than that, if an Arab from Hebron went to live in Nablus (60 miles north of Hebron), he wouldn’t be in a good situation, because these cities are made up of families, clans, and tribes, they aren’t homogenous societies.

    Sharon wrote a guide for negotiating in the Middle East. He noted that English should not be used in negotiations. He cogently stated,

    “I want negotiations to be in two languages: Hebrew and Arabic. Israel will speak Hebrew and they will speak Arabic. Because then you will really hear what the Arabs have to say, and what they don’t have to say. The Arabs know that what they say will be quoted in their media and therefore they will be very careful what they say and you will hear their true positions. In English, they can say anything they want, and then later when confronted with what they said they will say it wasn’t understood correctly and taken out of context.”
