‘Ministers must do everything possible to ensure Le Pen defeat’ – Hollande (RT, Apr 26, 2017)

https://heatst.com/culture-wars/clemson-u-proposal-all-student-govt-candidates-must-pass-multicultural-purity-test/
Clemson University’s multicultural studies director has proposed that students must pass an “intercultural competency” test before they’re allowed to run for office or hold positions in the South Carolina college’s student government. The proposal follows a new mandate requiring all freshmen students to take a social justice course following enrollment.
Altheia Richardson, Clemson’s director of the Gantt Multicultural Center, made her proposal at a recent presentation to the senate of the Clemson Undergraduate Student Government (CUSG). She also suggested group training for elected CUSG members. Her ideas outraged some student senators, who compared it to an ideological purity test that contradicted the concept of a democratically-elected student government.
Poll: Huge Shift in Sweden as Majority Now Want Fewer Asylum Seekers (breitbart, Apr 26, 2017)
http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/04/26/sweden-majority-want-fewer-migrants/
“The mood on migration in Sweden appears to have shifted dramatically this year, with a majority of people now saying they want the Nordic nation to take in fewer asylum seekers.
The most recent survey, conducted in autumn and winter, found that 52 per cent of respondents said Sweden should slow the migrant flow, with only 26 per cent opposed to the idea.
By contrast, Swedes asked the same question in 2015 were almost evenly split on the issue — 40 per cent said they felt the country should be receiving fewer asylum seekers, whilst 37 per cent wanted to see the influx continue.
Supporters of the Sweden Democrats were the most keen to see migrant flows slowed, with 96 per cent of respondents who back the anti-mass immigration party saying the country should cut numbers.
The mood amongst Moderate party voters towards Sweden’s generous migration policies appears to have undergone a massive change. Whilst just 42 per cent wanted to see fewer asylum seekers in 2015, that number soared to 64 per cent amongst respondents to the latest survey.
Social Democrat supporters also seem to have grown cynical of importing and granting residence to huge numbers of people from the Middle East and Africa, with 42 per cent of the governing party’s backers now wanting to see migrant numbers cut, compared to 29 per cent in 2015.
Enthusiasm for mass migration remains strong on the far left of the political spectrum, however, with just 13 per cent of those who vote for the Green party and the Left party advocating the country take in fewer asylum seekers…”

ISIS leaders ‘negotiate merger’ with other terrorist groups – FSB head (RT, Apr 26, 2017)
https://www.rt.com/news/386208-isis-negotiate-merger-terrorists/
“Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) and other terrorist groups are changing their tactics, moving fighters to Afghanistan, Yemen and Africa in order to set up a new large-scale terrorist network, the head of Russia’s Federal Security Service has stated.
“Having realized that they are being threatened with total destruction in the zone of their former domination, leaders of the largest international terrorist groups, such as Islamic State, Al-Nusra Front and the remnants of the pre-existing Al-Qaeda structures, began changing their tactics. In particular, they stepped up transfer of militants over to Afghanistan, Yemen and deep into Africa, and started building support points and bases there,” Aleksandr Bortnikov told participants of the VI Moscow Conference on International Security on Wednesday.
“We’re talking about development of a new large-scale terrorist network,” the FSB director said. “There are also reports of ongoing negotiations between Islamic State and other [terrorist] groups about a possible merger.”…”

Twitter goes wild over reported death penalty for ‘atheism’ in Saudi Arabia (RT, Apr 26, 2017)
https://www.rt.com/news/386196-saudi-death-penalty-apostasy/
“Saudi Arabia has reportedly sentenced a young man to death for apostasy. The news has stirred up Twitter users, with some expressing sadness and sorrow, while others praised the move.
On Tuesday, a Saudi Arabian court dismissed an appeal from Ahmad Al Shamri, who had spent three years in prison over charges of “atheism and blasphemy,” the Exmuslim website reports.
Al Shamri was in his early 20s and lived the city of Hafr Al-Batin in the country’s Eastern Province, according to the website. He had reportedly renounced Islam and posted various videos reflecting his views on social media. The man was arrested in 2014, faced trial and was sentenced to death in February 2015.
After the appeal was rejected, social media users were split over the court decision, posting their comments under a trending hashtag, which can be translated from Arabic as “apostate from Hafar Al-Batin.”
Many social media users condemned Saudi Arabia, pointing out that the country is a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)…”
Iran says ‘terrorists’ kill 10 border guards near Pakistan (abcnews, Apr 26, 2017)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/iran-terrorists-kill-10-border-guards-pakistan-47035171
“Iranian media says “terrorists” have killed 10 Iranian border guards on the frontier with Pakistan and wounded three others.
The porous frontier has long been used by drug smugglers as well as Sunni militants, both of whom regularly clash with Iranian security forces.
The semi-official Fars news agency said the gunmen fired on an Iranian patrol near the border on Wednesday. It provided no further details on who was behind the attack.
Eight Iranian border guards were killed in clashes with Sunni rebels in 2015. Two years earlier, the Sunni militant group Jaish-ul-Adl killed 14 border guards in an attack.”

Tensions rise after Turkish attack on Syrian Kurds (abcnews, Apr 26, 2017)
http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/tensions-rise-turkish-attack-syrian-kurds-47035869
“Russia on Wednesday criticized Turkey’s airstrikes against Kurdish forces in Syria and Iraq, saying they hindered efforts to combat the Islamic State group, as Turkish troops and Syrian Kurdish fighters traded fire across the increasingly tense frontier.
The Turkish airstrikes on Tuesday killed 20 members of the People’s Protection Units, or YPG, in Syria, and five peshmerga fighters in Iraq. Both Kurdish forces are close U.S. allies in the war against IS. Turkey said it struck rebels taking part in the Kurdish insurgency in its southeast.
Russia expressed “serious concern” about the strikes, which were also condemned by the Syrian and Iraqi governments.
“In a situation where the war on terror in Iraq and Syria is far from over, such actions clearly do not contribute to the consolidation of anti-terrorist efforts,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
It also expressed concern that “the Turkish strikes were inflicted on the territory of sovereign states, bypassing their legitimate governments. We consider such actions unacceptable.”
Russia is a close ally of the Syrian government, while Turkey supports the opposition. In recent months the two countries had cooperated in efforts to broker a permanent cease-fire in order to restart peace talks.
The YPG meanwhile asked the U.S.-led coalition battling IS to provide air cover over northern Syria, to protect them from Turkish and Syrian government air raids.
Syrian Kurdish officials escorted an American officer to some of the sites targeted in Tuesday’s attack, as large crowds from the area followed them around, according to photos and video from the scene. YPG spokesman Redur Khalil confirmed the visit to The Associated Press.
Khalil said the Turkish army shelled Syrian villages along the border area Wednesday, prompting an exchange of fire between Kurdish and Turkish border posts. There were no reports of casualties.
The YPG form the backbone of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the main U.S. partner in the battle against IS in northern Syria. NATO member Turkey considers the YPG an extension of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, which has been waging an insurgency in Turkey since 1984. The SDF also includes Arab fighters.”

More Disturbing Revelations on Obama’s Disastrous Nuclear Deal with Iran
Charges dropped against Iranians who aided Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
April 26, 2017
Joseph Klein
Last week, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson certified that Iran was compliant with its commitments under the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, known more formally as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). However, this is only because of all the concessions that the Obama administration had made, which lowered the bar for Iran’s technical compliance to an absurdly low level. Indeed, Barack Obama’s concessions to the Iran regime, which he offered in order to secure Iran’s agreement on the terms of the disastrous JCPOA, seem to have no bounds. The result is that Iran is marching ahead with perfecting key elements of a full nuclear weapons program, while already receiving many of the benefits of sanctions relief afforded by the JCPOA. And now evidence has surfaced that the Obama administration not only paid a ransom for the release of American citizens imprisoned unlawfully by the Iranian regime as the JCPOA was being implemented. According to an April 24th investigatory report by Politico, the Obama administration also agreed, as part of a prison swap, to release seven Iranian-born prisoners from U.S. custody, at least some of whom could well go back to helping the Iranian regime procure components for its nuclear weapons program.
Moreover, the Politico report found that the administration dropped charges and international arrest warrants against 14 fugitives. Obama Justice and State Department officials, at times after consultations with the White House, reportedly slowed down the extradition process for some fugitives who were in custody abroad. And the administration failed to vigorously go after Iranian procurement networks in the United States, while thwarting career law enforcement officials’ efforts to lure their targets to international destinations where they could be readily arrested.
In short, senior Obama administration officials delivered a major blow to the painstaking work of counter-proliferation task forces that had been trying for years to uncover and break up Iran’s intricate procurement networks supporting its nuclear arms program.

Former spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan rips apart TTP in confession video (tribune, Apr 26, 2017)
https://tribune.com.pk/story/1393995/ispr-releases-former-ttp-spokesperson-ehsanullah-ehsans-confessional-video/
“In a development that highlights the murky world of intelligence agencies using militant groups for their own ends, the Pakistani military on Wednesday released a video confession of a senior militant leader, who gave a rare insight into the working of terrorist groups, including murderous Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s connections with Indian and Afghan intelligence agencies.
Pakistan has long insisted that Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS) and India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) are funding and helping the TTP and its affiliates to carry out terrorist attacks in the country.
But this is the first time that a senior TTP commander, who spent almost a decade with the group before turning himself in last week, publicly admitted the RAW-NDS nexus to harbour anti-Pakistan terrorist groups.
In the six-minute video confession released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), TTP’s former spokesperson Liaquat Ali, better known by his nom de guerre, Ehsanullah Ehsan, divulged details of how the outfit used the name of Islam to misguide young minds and even willing to accept help from countries such as Israel to carry out terrorist activities.
The highlight of his recorded statement during which he appeared calm and composed was his disclosure about the role of NDS and RAW in using groups such as TTP to create unrest in Pakistan.
He said the TTP leadership had fled to Afghanistan as a result of Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan. He said in Afghanistan he had come to know that the TTP had established links with RAW and NDS.
“The NDS arranged Afghan national identity cards to TTP commanders and foot soldiers to ease their movement inside Afghanistan,” says Ehsan in his first appearance since it was announced last week he had surrendered.
Ehsan, who holds a master’s degree, joined TTP’s Mohmand chapter in 2008 while still a college student and was given the nom de guerre of Sajjad Mohmand. At the time commander Abdul Wali, alias Umer Khalid Khorasani, was the head of the Mohmand chapter. Ehsan was later elevated as TTP’s central spokesperson – a position he had kept until the death of TTP head honcho Hakimullah Mesud in a US drone strike on Nov 1, 2013.
After Hakimullah’s death, the TTP disintegrated and Khorasani broke away to form own faction, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA). Subsequently, Ehsan was made the spokesperson of the splinter group. However, the JuA – which is now the most lethal terror group in Pakistan – replaced him with Asad Mansoor last year.
Ehsan says the TTP leadership received funds from India and carried out terrorist attacks in Pakistan at their behest. “They pushed TTP’s foot soldiers to the front-lines to fight against Pakistani security forces while they themselves hid in safe havens,” he adds.
“When they [TTP leaders] started receiving funds from India and [its spy agency] RAW, I told Umar Khalid Khorasani that we’re supporting infidels and helping them kill our own people in our own country,” Ehsan recalls.
“He [Khorasani] said, ‘even if Israel offers to fund me to spread terror in Pakistan, I will take their help’… This is when I realised that the TTP leadership was serving own interests and furthering own agenda,” says Ehsan in the video, which shows him wearing shalwar-kameez with a Pashtun flat cap.
“These [terrorist] organisations have their committees in Afghanistan through which they communicate with NDS, and through NDS, with RAW,” he adds. “They [RAW and NDS] supported [TTP], extending financial assistance and they also gave targets, and for each attack (TTP) charged a price.”
The TTP leaders didn’t practice what they preached.
“A particular group misled the innocent, kidnapped them to extort money,” he says. “Pakistan Army has destroyed several JuA camps in Afghanistan and killed many of their commanders in its operations. As a result, they [terrorists] had to flee the area and abandon their headquarters. This has also shaken the morale of their fighters and their senior leadership.”
“The same group is responsible for bombings at public places, including schools, colleges, and universities. This is against the teachings of Islam,” Ehsan says.
Ehsan reveals that Mullah Fazlullah became TTP chief through a lucky draw. “The fight for leadership intensified when operations began in Waziristan. When everybody in the organisation began fighting for leadership, the Shura (consultative committee) decided to have a lucky draw. Mullah Fazlullah became the leader via lucky draw,” he says.
“What can you expect from such an organisation in which leaders are selected through a lucky draw?”
Giving a message to those who “are stuck there [in the TTP] and who want to quit,” Ehsan said: “Adopt the path of peace and come back to the life of peace and tranquility.”
Reacting to Ehsan’s confession, ISPR’s Director General Major Gen Asif Ghafoor said Ehsan’s admission exposed hostile foreign agenda and their designs to destabilise Pakistan. “Our youth is our strength, shall never fall prey,” he added.
However, Afghanistan strongly refuted Ehsan’s claim, while India’s Ministry of External Affairs said it was not yet able to comment on the video.
“Pakistan has always been pushing this narrative of being victim of terrorism while the fact it sponsors and supports terrorist activities in Afghanistan and India,” said an Afghan security official.
“Now Pakistan is under enormous pressure from the international community to crack down on extremists and it is trying to evade responsibility by playing victim once again.””
I dont believe this, however, it is a fun read… lol

Key Le Pen Adviser Convicted of Inciting Hatred Against Muslims (moroccoworldnews, Apr 26, 2017)
https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2017/04/214971/key-le-pen-adviser-convicted-inciting-hatred-muslims/
“Top adviser to Marine Le Pen’s presidential campaign, Robert Menard, has been found guilty of inciting hatred against France’s Muslim population.
Mayor of the southern town of Beziers, Menard’s trouble began September 1st, 2016, when he tweeted that he was bearing witness to the “great replacement.” He was referring to a derogatory term for a conspiracy theory which claims that white, Christian French citizens are being systematically replaced with Muslims.
On September 5th, during an appearance on LCI television, Menard elaborated that “In a class in the city centre of my town, 91 percent of the children are Muslims. Obviously, this is a problem. There are limits to tolerance.” According to French law, data based on an individual’s religion or ethnicity is strictly prohibited.
In addition to the statement, Menard employed two classroom photographs to illustrate his point. One circa the 1970’s, showed a classroom full of white faces. He compared it to a more recent photo which depicted a decidedly more diverse group of students.
The mayor has been ordered to pay the government a 2,000 euro fine, as well as between 1-1,000 euros to several organizations with affiliations to anti-racist groups.
Vowing to appeal the conviction, Menard instead expressed pride in his statements. “I was happy to describe the situation in my city. It is not judgmental, it is factual, it is what I can see.” He added that, in his opinion, “there is no discrimination for anyone” in his remarks.
In his arguments, the Paris public prosecutor accused Menard of reducing children “to their religion, regardless of whether they have French nationality or do not practice.” He further explained his point of view, saying Menard “pointed the finger at kids, whom he describes as a weight on the national community.”
The conviction comes just after Le Pen announced she was stepping back temporarily from the leadership of the Front National party to concentrate her energy on her presidential fight against Emmanuel Macron. Critics are viewing the move as an attempt to distance herself from her party’s racist image, at least long enough to win over a broader array of voters.”

Taliban fighter or liar? Asylum-seeker’s trial starts in Berlin (DW, Apr 26, 2017)
http://www.dw.com/en/taliban-fighter-or-liar-asylum-seekers-trial-starts-in-berlin/a-38601075
“Have thousands of Taliban members fled to Germany? The country’s federal public prosecutor is investigating 70 cases of alleged radical Islamist fighters. Strangely, many have previously admitted their guilt.
Did he carry a Kalashnikov? And if so, did he fire at Afghan police? These are two questions that Wajid S. had answered with a “yes” only a few months ago. That’s why the 28-year-old Afghan went on trial in Berlin on Wednesday. There were sufficient grounds to accuse him – as a member of the Taliban – of violating Germany’s Military Weapons Control Act, the federal prosecutor’s office stated. In addition, he is charged with “attempted joint murder in two cases.”
Wajid S. supposedly joined the Taliban in 2009. Initially, he only supplied his unit with food and ammunition; from 2014, however, he allegedly took part in attacks against Afghan police in Kapisa province, northeast of Kabul. That’s what the young man himself told the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), and that is why he was arrested in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt in October last year. Afterwards, Wajid S. repeated his account of Taliban membership in front of German police.
‘No other choice’
Why would someone admit to having committed felonies? In the case of Wajid S., it was because of hope for a better life in Europe, his lawyer Daniel Sprafke told DW. Wajid S. fled to Germany in 2015 for economic reasons, he said: “Arriving here, he did not expect to receive a regular visa. He had no other choice but to concoct a story which would help him to obtain refugee status at some point.”
Sprafke, assigned to represent Wajid S., planned to read out a statement in court according to which his client objects to all counts against him: “It will then be the federal public prosecutor’s duty to prove that he was a member of a foreign terrorist organization. And in my view, the federal public prosecutor has relatively little evidence at his disposal.” That is why Sprafke expects an acquittal – which, in turn, could lead to his client’s deportation.
Four? 70? Thousands?
The case of Wajid S. is not an isolated one. German authorities are investigating more than 70 cases of alleged Taliban fighters; the federal prosecutor has pressed charges against four of them, with a fifth charge currently in the works. But according to German news magazine “Der Spiegel,” this could be followed by numerous other cases. In hearings pertaining to their asylum procedure, “a medium-range, four-digit number of persons” had claimed vis-a-vis the BAMF that they were in contact with Taliban or had even fought on the group’s behalf.
In a statement to DW, the BAMF confirmed “that persons state in the course of their hearings to have been Taliban members.” Some claimed, the statement continues, to have been compulsorily recruited by the radical Islamist group before they could flee. In other cases, it was claimed “that asylum applicants had distanced themselves from the Taliban based on their own experiences only before they fled.” Whenever the BAMF, in the course of hearings, acquired information on criminal offenses, it was passed on to the appropriate law enforcement authorities. If there was proof that refugees had participated in war crimes or crimes against humanity, the BAMF did not issue a residence permit.
Death imminent?
But what happens if a refugee states that he did work for the Taliban but was not involved in criminal activity? After all, the Taliban is not considered to be a terrorist organization by the United Nations. In this context, the BAMF stated that Taliban membership alone was not the decisive factor in an asylum procedure.
However, if the applicant is threatened with human rights violations due to his former membership, “a grant of protection could be considered,” according to the BAMF. After all, in Afghanistan and Pakistan Taliban members could – in a worst-case scenario – face execution. On Tuesday, four people convicted of being Taliban fighters were hanged in a military prison in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province…”
Russian and Saudi FMs clash over Syria & Iran (RT, Apr 26, 2017)
https://www.rt.com/news/386265-lavrov-jubeir-disagreements-syria/
“Iran’s involvement in Syria is where Moscow and Riyadh “are mildly speaking, not matching,” the Russian Foreign Minister has said after hosting his Saudi counterpart. The alleged chemical attack in Syria has proven another point where Russia and Saudi Arabia are at odds.
Riyadh is standing against the involvement of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Hezbollah group in Syria, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir said at a news conference after talks with Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.
“We believe that they have no place in Syria or in any other part of the world. These groups influence the situations in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, the Gulf countries, Yemen. Hezbollah is carrying out its operations in various Middle East regions and follow’s Iran’s agenda,” Jubeir said.
“We would like to put an end to Iran’s involvement in the region,” he added.
Russia’s Foreign Minister countered this view, noting that Iran, as well as Hezbollah, are operating in Syria on President Bashar Assad’s official request.
“We don’t see Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. We believe that both of them [Iran and Hezbollah] – like Russia’s Air Forces – came to Syria following the request of the legitimate government,” Lavrov said.
“We know that our approaches are – mildly speaking – not matching, but we are sure that we need all Syrian parties without exceptions and all international players influencing these parties to join us to deal with this crisis,” Lavrov said.
Both ministers agreed that Teheran is one of the custodians of the ceasefire regime in Syria as outlined in the Astana agreement…”
