“Swedish police carried out two operations in the capital of Stockholm on Saturday having detained four people, local media reported.

One of the operations was carried out in a residential house and resulted in one detention while as part of another one police stopped a car in central Stockholm and detained three people, who were in the vehicle, the Aftonbladet newspaper reported.

There is no information whether the operations were linked to the terror attack that occurred on Friday…”

  2. John McCain tells ITV News: Trump must work to rid Assad after Syria strikes (itv, Apr 9, 2017)
    http://www.itv.com/news/2017-04-09/john-mccain-tells-itv-news-trump-must-work-to-rid-assad-after-syria-strikes/

“The US and its allies must add momentum to Donald Trump’s Syrian airstrikes by rebuilding the Free Syrian Army, setting up a safe zone and forcing President Assad out, John McCain has told ITV News.

The Republican senator, who has been a leading critic of the Trump administration, said he fully supported the president’s air strike directive as he discussed the damage it had done on the Assad regime.

The senator accused Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his Russian allies of being “slaughterers” – pointing to the use of “precision weapons in Aleppo to strike hospitals”.

“This is the kind of people they are,” Mr McCain said. “There’s only one thing that they understand and that is, that unless things change, the United States of America is perfectly capable of enacting further punishment for their heinous crimes.”…”

      • I agree with you about McCain, in fact you are understating his problem. He married an extremely rich woman and has decided that this makes him the smartest man in the world.

        • She’s just another perk for a man born with more than his share.

He’s about the most entitled public fixture still on the loose. After he prevented investigations on remaining Vietnam MIAs, families started looking closely at . Quite a record.

And replace him with exactly who?

This is the guy that was photographed with Jihadis a few years ago and told us they were the good guys.

This is the guy that encouraged the CIA to train up “freedom fighters.” As soon as the so called freedom fighters were trained up the majority of them took their weapons and joined ISIS. The rest were slaughtered…

  3. Fire near sabotaged Yemen oil pipeline kills 13 (alaraby, Apr 9, 2017)
    https://www.alaraby.co.uk/english/news/2017/4/9/fire-near-sabotaged-yemen-oil-pipeline-kills-13

“At least 13 people were killed in a fire that broke out near an oil pipeline damaged by sabotage in the west of war-torn Yemen, a government official said Saturday.

“Dozens of people had gathered at the site of the pipeline with bowls and other containers to fill with petrol spilling from the pipeline” in Hodeidah on the Red Sea, the official in Yemen’s recognised government said.

He said the fire broke out because of the use of an electricity generator, leaving 13 dead and 26 others with burns, while eight people remain missing.

Yemeni government forces are preparing for an assault on the nearby port of Hodeidah held by Houthi rebels…”

  4. The Soviet Union fought the Cold War in Nicaragua. Now Putin’s Russia is back.

MANAGUA, NICARAGUA — On the rim of a volcano with a clear view of the U.S. Embassy, landscapers are applying the final touches to a mysterious new Russian compound.

Behind the concrete walls and barbed wire, a visitor can see red-and-blue buildings, manicured lawns, antennas and globe-shaped devices. The Nicaraguan government says it’s simply a tracking site of the Russian version of a GPS satellite system. But is it also an intelligence base intended to surveil the Americans?

“I have no idea,” said a woman who works for the Nicaraguan telecom agency stationed at the site. “They are Russian, and they speak Russian, and they carry around Russian apparatuses.”

Three decades after this tiny Central American nation became the prize in a Cold War battle with Washington, Russia is once again planting its flag in Nicaragua. Over the past two years, the Russian government has added muscle to its security partnership here, selling tanks and weapons, sending troops, and building facilities intended to train Central American forces to fight drug trafficking.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/the_americas/the-soviet-union-fought-the-cold-war-in-nicaragua-now-putins-russia-is-back/2017/04/08/b43039b0-0d8b-11e7-aa57-2ca1b05c41b8_story.html

    • Yet another data point suggesting the Washington Post is a CIA asset.

If Russia today is building security facilities anywhere, it does not automatically follow that it is the same reason that the Soviet Union did, anymore than if a non-Merkel Germany did its the same as if the Nazis built it.

It may be an evil threatening thing, but if it is for the reasons given, to fight terrorism and drug financing of it, then whats the problem?

Meanwhile Iran has built medical facilities all over the Andes who’s purpose is to collect the isotopes needed to finish their nuclear project, both via the Uranian route and the plutonium.

      • I agree, the libs want a new Cold War to increase the tensions that will allow them to take control.

Having said that as I have stated Putin isn’t our open enemy and in the near future may even turn into a fairly good ally in the war against the Islamic Conquest. Right now Putin and Russia are the only vestige of control on what Iran is doing. We need to cultivate him as an ally and as you point out pay more attention to what is happening down South. The Iranian actions in South and Central America are among the top 5 threats to the safety of North America, threats that most people don’t know about, threats that Obama ignored and thus the media ignored. This is another reason why the Border Wall must be built and why the libs are using to many underhanded tricks to try and stop it. Their latest scheme is to use radical left environmental groups to sue to stop portions of the wall so Jaguars can freely roam across the border. They are also wanting to limit the number of patrols that the Border Patrol can make in those areas to prevent them from scaring the bog cats.

  5. Watch to see if Kim Jong-Un goes into hiding after Syria strike

The U.S. bombardment of a Syrian airbase just outside of Homs Friday was likely seen by North Korea as a clear warning that President Trump will use his military if United States interests are at risk.

The immediate focus after the strikes was on Russia’s Vladimir Putin’s reaction. Russia was not happy with the U.S., it spoke in defense of Syria and moved warships. But now the attention is on the next move by another world leader: Kim Jong-Un.

Gordon Chang, a Daily Beast columnist and author of “Nuclear Showdown: North Korea Takes On The World,” said in an emailed statement to Fox News Friday that the U.S. strike on the Syrian airfield “tells North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un that he must now heed American military power, something that he probably dismissed before.”

“Kim’s father, Kim Jong Il, disappeared from public view for about six weeks in 2003 at the time of the Iraq war. Kim Jong-Un loves the public spotlight, and it will be telling if he similarly goes into hiding,” the author said.

  6. Suspect in Russia metro bombing traveled to Turkey, say co-workers

ST PETERSBURG, Russia/OSH, Kyrgyzstan (Reuters) – The man Russian police believe was the suicide bomber who killed 14 people in a blast on the St Petersburg metro this week developed an interest in Islam and soon after traveled to Turkey, two people who know him told Reuters.

The two people said they did not know for sure if the man, Akbarzhon Jalilov, went on from Turkey to neighboring Syria. Turkey has been routinely used by radical Islamists as a route into areas of Syria controlled by the Islamic State group.

If Jalilov had been in Syria, that would expose a major gap in Russia’s counter-terrorism procedures, which rely heavily on identifying anyone who has been with militants in Syria and stopping them from returning to Russia, or arresting them.

The metro blast happened on Monday afternoon just as Russian President Vladimir Putin visited St Petersburg. No group has claimed responsibility. But Islamic State has threatened acts of violence on Russian soil in reprisal for the Kremlin’s military intervention in Syria in support of President Bashar al-Assad.

Jalilov, the suspected suicide bomber, was born in 1995 and grew up in the city of Osh in Kyrgyzstan, a mainly Muslim ex-Soviet Republic in Central Asia.

  7. Richard: This article shows how unhinged the left has become and is a good indicator about the possiblity for more leftist violence this summer.

Just when it seems like the general media meltdown can’t get meltier, along comes more melt.

I’m not a Putin fan myself, but I never suspected him of actually orchestrating the chemical weapons attack in Idlib Province on 4 April. At most, I thought he might have turned a blind eye to it. Failed to rope in his client Bashar al-Assad. Which is bad enough, but argues cynicism on Putin’s part, rather than his being a psycho.

Apparently, however, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell subscribes to the “psycho Putin” theory. It’s not clear how he relates Putin’s imputed psychopathy to Trump himself; i.e., whether O’Donnell thinks Trump would approve of what Putin has supposedly done, or be happy to collude in such a demented project.

But the supposition about Putin is utterly unhinged, and O’Donnell also buys the ever-shifting theory of the MSM about “Trump-Russia collusion.” So we can guess he doesn’t excuse Trump from his deranged postulate.

NewsBusters has the story (emphasis original):

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2017/04/08/msnbc-hosts-bizarre-theory-putin-behind-chem-attack-syria-way-help-trump/

    • This man takes conspiracy theories to a new low, there are questions about the raid I would like answered by the idea that Putin is the puppet master pulling Trumps strings is a far (and mentally disturbed) leftist projecting Obama’s need for a puppet master to tell him what to do.

There are now people objecting to Syria using conventional weapons on the ISIS fighters in that same city, their twisted logic is that we are somehow able to wave a magic wand and create a stable secular democracy in an Islamic nations with many different sects of Islam and a significant non Moslem population. Reality is slapping the world in it face and the libs are discovering that bad guys are going to use civilians as hostages if we let them. All their screaming about no civilian causalities does is embolden ISIS and the other wanna be Caliphs thus making the war longer and bloodier.

      • MSNBC is connected to 0’s White House fabulist Ben Rhodes. He’s the guy who bragged to the NYT about how he planted stories in think-tanks and LSM to further the Iran Deal. [*]

I can’t remember the exact brother/ -wife/ -/ex-husband connection, but there is one. I wrote about Swamp Incest a few days ago:

Foreign Policy is owned by Graham Holdings Co, spin-off from WaPo purchase by Amazon’s Bezos. GHC owns Slate, too. Bezos – again – has the contract for CIA cloud-computing services. (He was very much at home in 0’s WH.) Dyer put that pair together with Google.

ABC exec. producer is married to Susan Rice. CBS President is Ben Rhodes’ older brother. ABC married 0’s former Press Sec. ABC and Univision married to 0’s Deputy Press Sec. ABC President is brother of 0’s ‘Special Advisor’. CNN President is married to Witch’s Deputy Press Sec.

I’ve found another dozen connections at the very top. It’s quite literally all in the family, and it’s the most natural thing in the world. These are normal people in a system gone bad.

Parents live/work in Boston, NYC, the Beltway. Families belong to certain clubs, you go to certain schools. You socialize, get internships for each others’ kids. It’s simply an Establishment path that doesn’t fork Democrat-Republican.

The Media has gone corporate, and ’journalism’ is an Establishment career. Or ceased to exist as such. In this intensely incestuous community, there are no more gatekeepers. They’ve holed up inside the fortress …

…surrounded by a moat filled with IEDs placed by intelligence community dirty tricksters. And just beyond the perimeter are citizens carrying torches and pitchforks. The kingdom under siege.

          • As with all small groups of self proclaimed elites that will be a lot of inbreeding, as you said they attend the same schools, join the same clubs and refuse to talk to people who don’t agree with them. They consider themselves and their friends to be so much above the ordinary people they might as well be a different species. This is one of the reasons they are so upset over the “little” people revolting and electing someone other then their anointed savior of the world. If they and their peers in Europe had any brains they would study up on the French Revolution and the Terror that followed, However almost all of them are incapable of realizeing how upset the ordinary people are and how tired we are of having that group lie to us and try to destroy our culture and religions.

              • They’re not even all bad people. And they have perfectly decent cousins…

Unfortunately though, like so many Muslims, who they all too often marry.

  8. Tweet of the Day: Never concede that Neil Gorsuch is a legitimate member of the Supreme Court
By Ben Bowles April 8, 2017

Refusing to acknowledge yesterday’s confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch as the newest member of the Supreme Court is of a piece with refusing to accept that Donald Trump is president. In the case of Gorsuch, we heard repeatedly throughout the months-long Schumer-led temper tantrum on the part of Senate Democrats that Republicans “stole” the seat from Judge Merrick Garland, which is frankly foolish. Nothing in the Constitution requires that the Senate vote on a presidential nominee to the high court. Now that a new precedent has been set, count on Democrats to do precisely the same thing when they deem it to be in their best interests.

But that’s years down the road, if ever. And right now, liberals are mad. Take as a case in point a tweet posted yesterday by Ian Millhiser, justice editor for ThinkProgress and author of “Injustices: The Supreme Court’s History of Comforting the Comfortable and Afflicting the Afflicted”:

  9. College teacher: ‘Trump must hang,’ execute two Republicans for each immigrant deported
By LU Staff April 8, 2017

A lecturer in history at California State University, Fresno, appears to have advocated for the death of President Donald Trump on Twitter.

Tweets from an account purportedly operated by Lars Maischak call for Trump to “hang” in order to “save American democracy,” and say the only “cure” for racist people is a bullet to their head. The account is not verified, although the bio and interactions between the user and other Twitter users indicate it belongs to the professor.

“To save American democracy, Trump must hang,” Maischak appears to have tweeted in February. “The sooner and the higher, the better. #TheResistance #DeathToFascism.”

  10. Mexico wants to trade CA and TX, which it says it owns, for U.S. citizenship for millions of Mexicans
By Ben Bowles April 8, 2017

Never mind having a bridge to sell. Mexico has a couple of U.S. states it wants to sell us. Actually, it wants to barter. The Mexicans will trade us the states of Texas and California, which it insists it owns, in exchange for the U.S. granting instant citizenship to millions of Mexicans and their heirs — in perpetuity.

If you think this is a joke, you’re right. But that hasn’t prevented the New York Times from publishing an op-ed by self-styled Mexican historian Enrique Krauze arguing that Mexico has a rightful claim to those two states as well as parts of Arizona and New Mexico.

In fairness to Krauze, he is willing to settle for half the territory the U.S. forced Mexico into ceding as one condition of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which he is looking to nullify in any case. The treaty was entered into by the U.S. and Mexico in 1848, ending the Mexican-American War (or, in Krauze’s preferred formulation, “the United States invasion of Mexico”).

He was spurred to action, he tells us, Donald Trump’s pulling the Band-Aid off an old and painful wound:

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2017/04/08/mexico-wants-trade-ca-tx-says-owns-u-s-citizenship-millions-mexicans/

    • There are a lot of illegal aliens from Mexico that want to create a new nations that would not only include Texas and California but also most of the Louisiana Purchase. These people would be a joke it the Dems weren’t using them to stir up trouble and divide people so the Dems can play identity politics. You also need to remember the California Professor who is calling for the hanging of the President the the murder of random Republicans. None of these actions take place in a vacuum all of thse calls interact with many segments of the population and create more social pressure, pressure that is already at an all time high.

  11. EGYPT CHURCH BOMBING: At least 25 dead and 78 injured after explosion at Palm Sunday mass (express, Apr 9, 2017)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/789720/Explosion-bomb-Egypt-kills-four-people-and-injures-20-near-church-in-Tanta-terrorism

“AN EXPLOSION inside a church has killed at least 25 people and left 78 injured in Egypt.

The explosion took place at St George’s church in the town of Tanta as Coptic Christians were marking Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday is one of the holiest days in the Christian calendar, and marks the re-entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.

The blast has caused widespread carnage in the Nile delta city of Tanta, north of the capital Cairo.

Christians make up around 10 per cent of Egypt’s population and have repeatedly been targeted by Islamic extremists.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the blast.

Ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed confirmed the death toll from the attack in an interview with CBC TV.

Early reports from the state-run MENA news agency provided the same death toll and said 35 were wounded.

Provincial governor Ahmad Deif told the state-run Nile channel: “Either a bomb was planted or someone blew himself up.”

A probe has been launched for any other explosives that could have been planted in the area…”

[…]historical and theological background for this hymn,

the signature hymn of Palm Sunday

This hymn celebrates the entrance of Christ into Jerusalem, thus kicking off Passion Week

This hymn is entirely in the Greek language, except the final two verses which are in Coptic.

This hymn is writtten in such a way that it is to be chanted antiphonically – meaning the two choruses of the church to sing one part of the verse each. So one chorus starts off by saying Wcanna tou `uiw Dauid (Hosanna to the Son of David!) and the chorus replies back saying Palin tou `uiw Dauid – Again, to the Son of David!

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said he will impose a state of emergency countrywide for three months, following attacks on churches in Tanta and Alexandria on Sunday.

In a televised address, he said that the state of emergency will come into effect “once legal and constitutional measures are completed.”

“There are a number of measures that were taken or will be taken. On top [of the measures] is the announcement of a state of emergency … for three months,” he said in the address on Sunday evening.

“This is only to protect our country … and prevent any targeting of its capabilities.”

Jan Evensson of the Stockholm police told a televised news conference that the 39-year-old suspect’s request for a residence permit was rejected in June 2016 but police could not find him to send him back to his native country because he was not at the address he had given. On Feb. 24, he was formally sought after by Swedish police.

  16. Without Pantsir, Buk and Tor, S-400s Alone Not Enough to Cover Syria’s Skies (sputniknews, Apr 9, 2017)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201704091052462296-russian-syria-air-defense-upgrade/

“In the aftermath of Thursday’s Tomahawk cruise missile attack on the Ash Sha’irat airbase in Homs, Syria, Moscow vowed to strengthen its air defense umbrella over the country. Experts have already explained which systems need to be deployed to ensure Syria’s safety against future US attacks.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov has confirmed that Moscow will be strengthening Syria’s air defenses following the massed US cruise missile attack on a Syrian airbase Thursday night.

In order to defend the most sensitive objects of Syrian infrastructure, a number of measures will be implemented in the near future to strengthen and improve the effectiveness of the air defense systems of the Syrian Armed Forces,” Konashenkov said Friday at a Ministry briefing.

The spokesman suggested that it was noteworthy that only 23 of the 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from US Navy destroyers made it to their targets at Ash Sha’irat. “It is not clear whether the other 36 cruise missiles landed,” Konashenkov said, without offering any more details.
Indeed, an air of mystery now surrounds the three dozen failed cruise missiles, with experts speculating over whether they were simply duds, past their “best before” date, or if they may have been shot down by Syria’s air defenses.

Russian experts, meanwhile, have also explained that Russia’s own air defense systems deployed in the country are marked for the pinpoint defense of Russian military sites and hardware in the country. Furthermore, they’ve pointed out that until Thursday’s incident, the Russian systems had operated in accordance with Moscow’s memorandum with Washington on avoiding incidents over Syria’s skies. This presumably meant that the air defenses wouldn’t target presumed ‘friendly’ US objects. On Friday, Moscow suspended the agreement.

Still, the 23 missiles were enough to severely damage the Ash Sha’irat airbase, destroying six MiG-23 fighters, a storage depot, training facility, cafeteria and radar station. Over half a dozen soldiers, as well as nine civilians, are also thought to have been injured or killed in the attack.

  17. Shadow Brokers hackers release NSA hacking tools to punish Trump for ‘abandoning’ his base (RT, Apr 9, 2017)
    https://www.rt.com/usa/384082-shadow-brokers-nsa-password-trump/

“Hacking group Shadow Brokers has released the password to a trove of NSA exploits in what they say is a form of protest against President Donald Trump for going back on his campaign promises, and warning the president, “Don’t forget your base.”

The shadowy group first emerged last August and released hacking exploits used by the NSA’s Equation Group, which included vulnerabilities in firewall products, and a list of IP addresses the NSA had exploited, which the group released at a later date…”

Shadow Brokers released passwords to the rest of the exploits on Saturday, in a move they described as a protest against Trump, who they say has “abandoned” his base by going back on many promises made on the campaign trail.

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden has confirmed that the leak included authentic NSA software. The leak doesn’t contain the entire spy tools library, Snowden tweeted.

However, he added that “NSA should be able to instantly identify where this set came from and how they lost it. If they can’t, it’s a scandal.”…”

  18. Trump considering sanctions against Russia & Iran over Syria – US envoy to UN (RT, Apr 9, 2017)
    https://www.rt.com/usa/384112-trump-sanctions-russia-iran/

“US President Donald Trump is considering implementing new sanctions against Russia and Iran, the US ambassador to UN, Nikki Haley has said in an interview with CNN.

Speaking to Jake Tapper, the host of the State of the Union show, on Sunday, the US official said that the issue of the new sanctions is already being discussed.

“I think that’s conversations that he [Trump] will be having and have started to have, going forward. But I think he will have to look at the situation,” Haley told the CNN host when asked whether Trump “wants tougher sanctions on Russia and Iran.”

Nothing “is off the table at this point,” she added.

The discussions are linked to the situation in Syria, she said.

“You saw this terrible tragedy on innocent people, a lot of them children, and the first reaction from Russia wasn’t ‘how horrible,’ it wasn’t ‘how could they do this,’ it wasn’t ‘how did this happen,’ it was: ‘Assad didn’t do it.’ Why was that the reaction?” Haley said.”

  19. ‘Dirty Geopolitical Game’: West-Backed Jihadis Carried Out Syria Chemical Attack (sputniknews, Apr 9, 2017)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201704091052464961-syria-false-flag-attack-jihadists/

“Tuesday’s chemical weapons attack in Idlib province, which rebel groups claim was committed by the Syrian army, bears similarities to the “false flag” attack carried out by jihadists in Ghouta in 2013, Middle Eastern expert Michael Lueders told Germany’s ZDF television.

The reaction of the US, Germany and other Western nations to the chemical weapons attack reported in Idlib province has been too hasty, given the history of false flags organized by jihadist groups operating in Syria, expert in Middle East affairs Michael Lueders told Germany’s ZDF television.

Lueders, former Middle Eastern correspondent for Germany’s Die Zeit newspaper, said the Western interpretation of events in Syria has more to do with the geopolitical objectives of the US, EU and their Middle Eastern allies than with the reality of events there.

“From the start, the Western interpretation suggests that this is about the Syrian people rising up against Assad the dictator, and we in the West must help the Syrian people and also support them with weapons in order to defend our values against the oppressor.”

“This is an appealing point of view, but it has relatively little to do with the reality. It was always a part of the Syrian population which rose up against the regime of Bashar al-Assad, not the whole Syrian population. Above all not the religious minorities, because they know that if (the Syrian government) falls then it won’t be the good guys who come to power but the jihadists,” Lueders said.

“In the West, what is always overlooked is that the so-called rebels are no lovers of democracy but are jihadists with links to either the al-Nusra Front or the Islamic State.”

Lueders recalled the chemical weapons attack carried out August 21 2013, in which over 1000 people in Ghouta, a suburb of Damascus, were killed after rockets containing sarin gas struck opposition-controlled areas.

Following that incident, the US condemned the Syrian government, accusing Damascus of carrying out the attack, an allegation it denied.

On August 30 2013, the White House said it had assessed “with high confidence” that the Syrian government carried out the chemical attack on Ghouta, raising the prospect of a US strike against Syrian forces. In 2012, President Barack Obama had called the potential use of chemical weapons by Assad “a red line” which may change his view on US military intervention there.

In the aftermath of the attack, the Pentagon made preparations for a strike on Syrian forces. However, Obama made a surprise U-turn and asked for the approval of Congress first, which declined to give permission for the strike.

Obama did so after receiving new intelligence which shed doubt on the US presumption of guilt of the Syrian army, Lueders said. The new evidence pointed not to the involvement of the Syrian government in the Ghouta attack, but of the al-Nusra front in collaboration with Turkish intelligence services.

“Why didn’t he give the order? Because his own intelligence told him to be careful since US and UK intelligence had examined the chemical gas used in Ghouta and had come to the conclusion that the sarin found there was not the same as that found in the Syrian army’s stocks.”

“As a result, US intelligence was very wary and warned Obama, ‘we now think it highly probable that the regime wasn’t responsible for this chemical gas attack, there is no proof and now there are indications that this chemical gas attack was a so-called false flag attack.'”

“They suspected that this was a collaboration between the al-Nusra front, one of the most evil jihadist groups, al-Qaeda’s subsidiary in Syria, and the Turkish intelligence services.”

“Why would the Turkish government work together with the al-Nusra front? Because the Turkish government, Erdogan and the intelligence services, had already thought ‘we can use this war in Syria for our own purposes, we will use the radical jihadists and use them to fight the Kurds in northern Syria who are linked to the PKK.’ Everything is interconnected in this conflict, that’s why it’s so complicated.”

“Turkey had evidently armed the al-Nusra front with sarin gas. In June 2013, there was an investigation by the US intelligence services, which you can read, that clearly says, ‘we know that Turkey has equipped the al-Nusra front and other groups with sarin gas and they are producing sarin gas themselves.'”

Lueders told viewers that Turkish journalists including the former editor of Cumhuriyet Can Dundar, who is currently exiled in Germany, had reported the weapons deliveries. “All journalists in Turkey who have reported about this are either in prison or in exile,” he said.

“You can research these things if you want to, but of course then you will break the concept of the enemy and you can’t say any more, ‘here are the good guys and we are on their side, and there are the bad guys and we are supporting good in a fight against evil.”

“We have supported opposition forces there, 90 percent of whom are jihadists. If they were to come to Germany, all the security services would be informed immediately. Therefore, what is happening here is not black and white, but an incredibly dirty geopolitical game,” Lueders said.

On Tuesday, the Syrian National Coalition of Revolution and Opposition Forces, which was formed in Qatar in 2012, reported that some 80 people were killed and 200 injured in a chemical attack on civilians in Khan Shaykhun, a town in the Idlib governorate of northwestern Syria.

One of the last remaining rebel strongholds in Syria, many Islamist rebels fled to Idlib after the Syrian government retook control of Aleppo in December.

Rebel groups have accused the Syrian Armed Forces of carrying out the attack, an allegation denied by Damascus.

In retaliation at the alleged attack the US launched an airstrike on the Syrian army’s Sha’irat airbase. However, the US has failed to find proof of the existence of chemical weapons at the airfield.

Russia has submitted a draft resolution to the UN Security Council calling for an investigation into the incident in Idlib.

On Wednesday, Russian defense ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov reported that Syrian aircraft had conducted an airstrike on a warehouse containing ammunition and military equipment belonging to terrorists near the town of Khan Shaykhun. Konashenkov said that chemical weapons’ ammunition had also been stored in the warehouse prior to delivery to Iraq.

On Thursday, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said that the first reports of a chemical attack in the province of Idlib appeared a few hours before the April 4 airstrike by the Syrian Air Forces on an al-Nusra Front ammunition warehouse.

Syria joined the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons after the 2013 Ghouta chemical attack, the result of an agreement between Russia and the US on the destruction of chemical weapons in the country under the control of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). In January 2016, the OPCW announced that all chemical weapons in Syria had been destroyed.”

  20. Police Report: Migrant Crime Drastically Increased in 2016 (breitbart, Apr 9, 2017)
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/04/09/german-federal-police-migrant-crime-drastically-increased-2016/

“The German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) has released a new report which claims that crimes committed by migrants rapidly increased in 2016 compared to the previous year.

The new report from the BKA states that in 2016 there was a total of 295,000 crimes that involved immigrants as suspects, up 90,000 from 2015 when there were 205,000. The police say that the crimes counted did not include migrant specific crimes like illegal entry into Germany or staying in the country illegally Die Welt reports.

The three most cited crimes that involved immigrants were counterfeiting which accounted for 29 percent of all the crimes, theft at 26 percent, and violence including bodily harm at 24 percent.

The BKA said there were 450 cases in which migrants had attempted to kill another person, with 66 murder suspects and a total of 82 victims. The twelve victims of the Berlin Christmas market terror attack in December committed by Tunisian asylum seeker Anis Amri were also counted in the statistics.

In two-thirds of the cases of attempted murder or homicide, the victims were immigrants themselves with 59 victims coming from migrant backgrounds while other victims included five EU citizens, two non-EU citizens and 16 German nationals.

Breitbart London has reported on several cases, primarily in and around asylum homes, in which migrant men have beaten and sometimes even murdered family members such as their own wives.

The BKA defines “immigrants” in the report as anyone who is either an asylum seeker, a person with refugee status, an illegal immigrant or failed asylum seekers who are allowed to stay in the country.

A spokeswoman for the Federal Ministry of the Interior said that the government was working on a full report that will also include criminal statistics from the regional governments as well.

Several regions in Germany have already released migrant crime statistics and all have shown a drastic rise in migrant crime. In Munich police have noted that almost half of the criminal suspects in the Bavarian city are “non-Germans.”

In the German capital of Berlin, the senate has launched a formal inquiry into why migrant crime rates are so high in the city. The Berlin crime statistics showed that 13 percent of the migrant population in the city were suspects in various crimes, compared to the German population in which only 6 percent were suspects in crimes.

Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria have both expressed concerns with the growing migrant crime trend. Last month Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office (LKA) president Ralf Michelfelder said, “we are very worried about the rise in violence by asylum seekers.””

  21. Turkey: Armed mob destroys Syrian refugee camp in Izmir

A mob destroyed makeshift tents used to house some Syrian 500 refugees in the western city of Izmir, Saturday evening. The Syrian residents reportedly fled the area as the group armed with knives and sticks approached.

The act was reportedly carried out in response to allegations that a Turkish child was beaten by a group of refugees.

Clashes erupted earlier on Saturday when around 300 residents in Torbali district set upon Syrian refugees with sticks and knives. The Syrians have since left the area with around reports that 30 have been injured and one person critically wounded.

“POLICE in Sweden were pelted with stones as they investigated the Stockholm terror attack, it has been claimed.

Officers were reportedly targeted as they tried to arrest two people – a woman and her 17-year-old son – living at an address linked to a 39-year-old suspect, who is already in custody.

One police officer involved in the operation, Abdallah Ahmed, said he and his colleagues were “exposed to stone throwing” as they entered the district of Tensta on Saturday evening.

  23. Double Bombing Hits Egypt on Palm Sunday

At least 37 people were killed and more than 100 injured in two separate bombing attacks that struck churches in Egypt. The blasts ripped through services for Palm Sunday on April 9.

The Islamic State terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attacks.

A bomb placed under a seat in the main prayer hall of St. George’s Coptic Church in Tanta, northern Egypt, ripped the hall apart, killing at least 26 and wounded 60 others.

“Everything is destroyed inside the church,” eyewitness Peter Kamel told media outlets after the attack.

A suicide bombing hit Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria a few hours later. According to state TV reports, police officers prevented the suicide bomber from entering the Church, and he detonated his device outside.

  24. Why Does the West Keep Colluding with Terrorists?

    by Douglas Murray
    April 9, 2017 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10177/ayaan-hirsi-ali-islam-terrorism

Only a fortnight after a vehicular terrorist attack in Westminster, London, another similar attack took place in Stockholm, Sweden. On one of the city’s main shopping streets, a vehicle was once again used as a battering-ram against the bodies of members of the public. As in Nice, France. As in Berlin. As so many times in Israel.

Amid this regular news there is an air of defeatism — a terrible lack of policy and lack of solutions. How can governments stop people driving trucks into pedestrians? Is it something we must simply get used to, as France’s former Prime Minister Manuel Valls and London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan have both suggested? Must we come to recognise acts of terror as something like the weather? Or is there anything we can do to limit, if not stop, them? If so, where would we start? One place would be to have a frank public discussion about these matters. Yet, even that is easier said than done.

There is a terrible symmetry to this past week in the West. The week began with the news that the Somali-born author and human-rights activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali had been forced to cancel a speaking tour in Australia. “Security concerns” were among the given reasons. A notable aspect of this issue, which has been made public, is that one of the venues at which Hirsi Ali was due to speak was contacted last month by something calling itself “‘The Council for the Prevention of Islamophobia Incorporated”. Nobody appears to know where this “incorporated” organisation comes from, but its purported founder — Syed Murtaza Hussain — claimed that the group would bring 5000 protestors to the hall at which Hirsi Ali was scheduled to talk. This threat is reminiscent of the occasion in 2009 when the British peer, Lord Ahmed, threatened to mobilise 10,000 British Muslims to protest at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster if the Dutch politician Geert Wilders were allowed to speak. On that occasion — as on this one — the event was cancelled. Promises to mobilise thousands of angry Muslims can have such an effect. But the long-term implications often get lost in the short-term outrage.

  25. TURKEY – Erdogan is preparing to pray in the Hagia Sophia next Friday

The President will pray together with members of his party and the religious leaders in Istanbul. The event falls two days before the referendum, to garner the Muslim vote. Transformation of the ancient Christian basilica into a museum rejected. Erdogan: Kemalism is dead.

Istanbul (AsiaNews) – The Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan is preparing to go to pray next Friday April 14 in Saint Sophia in Constantinople, the church declared a museum by the father of Republican Turkey Kemal Ataturk in 1934.

Erdogan will not be alone: ??He will be accompanied by representatives of his party AKP (Muslim extraction) and religious leaders in Istanbul. According to the Christian calendar next Friday is Good Friday and the event will take place just two days before the April 16 referendum strongly backed by Erdogan in Turkey to establish an absolutist Presidency of Neottoman and Islamic extraction.

Thus Erdogan, nicknamed the “new sultan” for his political extremism, will seek to channel Muslim faithful in favor of a Yes ( “Evet”) vote. According to the Muslim calendar the month to April (Nisan) is the month of the birth of Mohammed.

The news is carried in pro-government newspapers, presenting the latest book by Turk historian Mustafa Armagan – titled “The Saint Sophia intrigue” (Aya Sofia Entrikalari). In doing so they seek to create and prepare the climate for the prayer, as the will of the Turkish president. The book argues that the decree signed by Kemal Ataturk in 1934 which turned the Hagia Sophia from mosque into a museum, is not authentic. According to Armagan, the Kemal Ataturk signature on the decree is false. Therefore the act has no legal value and therefore Santa Sofia can in fact be used as a mosque, as was the case after the Turkish conquest of Constantinople in 1453.

Hagia Sophia it was built in 537 by Emperor Justinian and dedicated to God’s Wisdom. To justify his remarks, the Turkish historian reports that the Kemal Aturk signature on the 1934 Decree is unlike any other signature penned by the Father of Republic in prori acts.

Various sources are cited in the book which claims, according to the author, that the transformation of Hagia Sophia into a museum, was the result of pressure from various Western international forces, headed by the then US Ambassador Joseph Grew.

Mustafa Armagan also notes the news that Kemal Ataturk had visited St. Sophia in 1935, three months after its proclamation as a museum, was not reported in any Turkish newspaper of the period, but only by the Greek language journal, Apogevmatini, published on February 7, 1935, in Istanbul. The author recalls, in that same period, the strong reaction of the Egyptian newspaper “El Risale “, strongly opposed to the transformation of Hagia Sophia into a museum.

In this way the pre-referendum climate is becoming increasingly tense and polarized. On the other hand, the climate has been fostered and created by Erdogan himself with his recent statements against the Kemalist period, when he proclaimed: “That period, which began in 1923, is about to end. And that’s that”. And that is, woe to the vanquished.

  26. Sweden: Stockholm holds ‘Lovefest’ vigil for victims of Friday’s truck attack

Thousands of people held a vigil in central Stockholm, Sunday, to honour the victims of Friday’s attack in the Swedish capital.

After organising the “Lovefest” vigil through the social media platform Facebook, Stockholmers gathered at 14:00 local time (12:00 GMT) at the Sergels Torg square, which is located near the spot where the attack took place.

There the crowd laid flowers, lit candles and Swedish flags on the ground. Following a minute of silence, various Swedish artists performed live music to which the vigil attendees sang and clapped to.

  27. H. R. McMaster Manipulating Intelligence Reports to Trump, Wants 150,000 Ground Soldiers in Syria

Current National Security Adviser Herbert Raymond “H. R.” McMaster is manipulating intelligence reports given to President Donald Trump, Cernovich Media can now report. McMaster is plotting how to sell a massive ground war in Syria to President Trump with the help of disgraced former CIA director and convicted criminal David Petraeus, who mishandled classified information by sharing documents with his mistress.

As NSA, McMaster’s job is to synthesize intellience reports from all other agencies. President Trump is being given an inaccurate picture of the situation in Syria, as McMaster is seeking to involve the U.S. in a full scale war in Syria.

The McMaster-Petraeus plan calls for 150,000 American ground troops in Syria.

Many special operations veterans including General Joseph Votel have raised serious concerns about McMaster’s plans for Syria.

Sources also suggest that McMaster is sharing classified information with Petraeus, whose security clearance was revoked.

Petraeus’ influence in the NSC remains strong.

McMaster was called Petraeus’ golden child by some commenters, noting the strong influence Petraeus had over McMaster. Petraeus was considered for the position of NSA, but withdrew his name from consideration once McMaster’s name was included on the short-list. McMaster’s appointment allowed Petraeus to maintain control over the NSC without bringing his considerable baggage to the position.

Derek Harvey, the top Middle East adviser in the NSC, has close ties with Petraeus and is close with McMaster. (Harvey reportedly faces a massive EEO complaint from subordinates, although that investigation remains open.)

Harvey and McMaster have been trying to subvert Joint Chiefs Chairman General Joseph Dunford and Secretary of Defense James Mattis. Mattis and Dunford support working with our allies in the fight against ISIS. Harvey and McMaster are advocating for a massive American-only ground force.

Two men were standing in between another U.S.-led war in the Middle East?—?General Mike Flynn and Steve Bannon.

Flynn was removed after Susan Rice unmasked classified information concerning him. Bannon’s role within the White House was weakened by McMaster, who demanded Bannon be removed from his advisory position at NSC.

McMaster’s friends in the media, as part of a broader strategy to increase McMaster’s power, have claimed Jared Kushner and Bannon had a major falling out. In fact Kushner and Bannon are united in their opposition to McMaster’s plan.

If McMaster and Petraeus have their way, America will find itself in another massive war in the Middle East.

Mike Cernovich – McMaster Plan for 150,000 American Troops in Syria

    • the gateway pundit -Flashback: Susan Rice Urged McMaster to Get Rid of Trump Loyalists, National Security Group Led By Bannon

Attention is turning to National Security Advisor, H.R. McMaster as the situation with Syria heats up. McMaster replaced General Flynn as National Security Advisor after he was forced to resign in February.

President Trump ordered a missile strike on an airbase in Syria reportedly holding chemical weapons and said he is prepared to take further action if necessary in a letter released by the White House yesterday.

TGP also reported yesterday that McMaster is said to be working behind the scenes with Petraeus to put troops on the ground in Syria, a foreign policy decision many are saying is an about face from President Trump’s previous claims of how he would handle the Syrian conflict.

This news is on the heels of former National Security Advisor, Susan Rice being the person who unmasked General Flynn which ultimately led to his resignation, ushering in McMaster.

Susan Rice wanted General Flynn out. After McMaster was brought in to replace Flynn, she took to her Twitter account to congratulate him and said,

Hope you will be able to choose your team, have direct reporting and daily access to POTUS, and can eliminate Strategic Initiatives Group.”

Strategic Initiatives Group was reportedly an internal White House think tank led by Steve Bannon set up to influence President Trump. Steve Bannon was removed from the National Security Council on April 5th.

Many eyebrows are being raised now as Nationalist advisors are being pushed out or put on the back burner while globalists trickle in. Was the ousting of General Flynn planned all along in order to stop Trump’s ‘America first’ agenda? Seems likely.

Hope you will be able to choose your team, have direct reporting and daily access to POTUS, and can eliminate Strategic Initiatives Group.

  28. ISIS Attacks US-Led Base In Southern Syria

With the US now engaged in military conflict with, and targeting Syrian army forces, what the Trump administration has (un)wittingly done is provide support to Islamic State, al-Qaeda, and al-Nusra and other terrorist forces, all of which have been engaging with the Assad regime in a fight in which the Syrian president has gradually seen the tide of war turn in his favor. At least until last Friday’s US cruise missile attack that is.

Which is why it should probably come as no surprise that, emboldened by US actions, moments ago the WSJ reported that Islamic State militants attacked a US-led coalition base (at least we now have official confirmation that there are US military bases in Syria) in southern Syria on Saturday, “triggering a fierce fight that required coalition airstrikes to repel, U.S. military officials said Sunday.”

The complex attack began on Saturday when Islamic State fighters detonated a vehicle bomb at a base in al-Tanf, a town in southern Syria along the Jordan border used by American special operation forces and Syrian rebels working with the U.S. coalition, the officials said.

Between 20 and 30 Islamic State fighters, including some with suicide vests, then attacked the base, which is a staging ground and training facility for the U.S.-backed Syrian rebels.

As the WSJ adds, Coalition forces and Syrian rebels engaged in firefights with the attackers and then called in airstrikes to repel the attack, officials said.

Luckily, there was no word of any American fatalities in the attack, although next time the US forces on the ground may not be so lucky, and the resulting media storm would prompt a full reappraisal of Trump’s action which by weakening Assad implicitly and directly is boosting the relative strength of the Islamic State.

The Islamic State attack comes as the U.S. military is deepening its presence in Syria as part of an intensifying campaign to drive the extremist group from its de facto capital in Raqqa. For weeks, the U.S. military has been strengthening its presence along the Jordan-Syria border, according to U.S. and Jordanian officials.[…]
