  1. Swedes Charge Syrian Asylum Seeker With War Crime (abcnews, Dec 29, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/swedes-charge-syrian-asylum-seeker-war-crime-44447985

“Swedish prosecutors say a Syrian man has been charged with war crimes for having taken part in the 2012 execution of seven government troops in Syria.

Investigator Kristina Lindehoff Carleson says the conflict then “was a non-international armed conflict between the Syrian government and a number of armed groups.”

Lindehoff Carleson says the 46-year-old man had joined rebels in Syria and appeared in a May 2012 video where seven “defenseless” soldiers were executed. It was not immediately clear which rebel group he had joined.

She said Thursday the charge “should in no way been seen as an endorsement of the ongoing conflict in Syria.”

The man sought asylum in Sweden in 2013 and has been held in pre-trial custody since March, according to the prosecution.”

  2. Europe Remains New Year’s Goal for Young Migrants in Serbia (abcnews, Dec 29, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/europe-remains-years-goal-young-migrants-serbia-44447646

“In a child care center in Belgrade, a drawing of a Christmas tree is dotted with colorful paper stickers where young migrants have written their New Year’s wishes.

Samir, a 16-year-old from Afghanistan, points to his wish, written in English on a red circle.

“I want to go to London,” the teenager said. “My parents are in Afghanistan, but I want to go. I can speak English, and London is good for me.”

Samir is part of a group of young migrants who were placed temporarily at the government-run center in the Serbian capital after they were spotted roaming the streets.

Minors make up about 40 percent of the thousands of migrants in Serbia seeking ways to cross the heavily guarded borders of neighboring European Union nations Croatia or Hungary, according to the United Nations Children’s Fund.

Authorities and aid groups try to find the youths’ families, either in their home countries or along the routes taken by migrants hoping to reach Europe. One child currently at the government center, for example, has agreed to live with a foster family in Serbia because his parents can’t be located.

Other youth traveling alone or in small groups try to avoid detection and offers of aid because they hope to earn money once they reach Europe, but instead find hardship and cold sleeping in makeshift shelters or parks.

“It would be an understatement to say they are in bad condition,” said Tatjana Ristic, who works with Save the Children in Serbia.

Save the Children and other nonprofit groups work with migrants outside government facilities in a small hub called “Miksaliste” in downtown Belgrade.

One room is reserved for children to draw, read or play. A large drawing depicts police with dogs guarding a border behind barbed wire.

Noman, a 15-year-old from Afghanistan, said he has tried twice to cross into Croatia. Police stopped him at the border both times and sent him back…”

  3. Raped by Asian taxi driver for 13 YEARS and had her 4 babies SOLD- brave victim speaks out (express, Dec 29, 2016)
    http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/748082/sexual-abuse-taxi-sex-secret-slave-rape-book-british-woman

“A BRITISH woman has claimed she was held captive by a taxi driver, raped everyday for 13 years and had four of her children sold after being abducted when she was just 15 years old.

The woman, who goes by the name ‘Anna Ruston’, claims she was kidnapped after her parents and grandmother died.

She says she was taken in by a taxi driver she calls ‘Malik’, who recognised she was vulnerable and didn’t have a support network who would question her whereabouts.

Describing her ordeal in newly released misery memoir Secret Slave, Ms Ruston insists she initially enjoyed Malik’s attention and was grateful to have been welcomed into his home, where she would be treated to chapatis and milky tea.

But then one day, Malik called her a “white slut” before raping her and locking her in a room where she was reportedly forced to go to the toilet in a can…”

  4. Turkish journalist Ahmet Sik held ‘over tweet’ (BBC, Dec 29, 2016)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-38457798

“Police in Istanbul have detained a prominent investigative journalist, Ahmet Sik, in connection with his social media postings.

The arrest of Sik, who has been jailed previously, came shortly before writer Asli Erdogan and linguist Necmiye Alpay appeared in a Turkish court.

Many writers and journalists have been arrested in Turkey since the July coup attempt, in which military rebels tried to oust President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Sik confirmed his arrest in a tweet.

“I am being detained. I will be taken to the prosecutor’s office regarding a tweet,” he tweeted.
Sik has been accused of spreading “terrorist propaganda”, reports say.
    Kurdish links

Asli Erdogan, 49, and Necmiye Alpay, 70, are among nine suspects charged over their links to the pro-Kurdish newspaper Ozgur Gundem, which was shut down in August.

The authorities regard Ozgur Gundem as a mouthpiece for the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), an armed group fighting for more Kurdish autonomy. Turkey and its Western allies regard the PKK as a terrorist organisation.

Free speech campaigners Pen say the Turkish authorities have detained almost 150 writers and journalists since the abortive July coup.

Sik and journalist Nedim Sener were previously jailed in 2011-2012. The authorities banned Sik’s book The Imam’s Army, which examined the life and work of Fethullah Gulen, the US-based cleric blamed by the Turkish government for the July coup attempt.

A version of the book was however published in November 2011.”

Kerry and the U.S. State Department said nothing about the Dec. 8 suicide by Tashi Rabten, a 30-year old former monk who set himself on fire in Machu County in Eastern Tibet to protest Chinese occupation of the country, according to department Lauren Hickey.

  6. Turkey’s Erdogan, Russia’s Putin held talks on phone over Syria ceasefire: spokesman

ANKARA (Reuters) – Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart on Thursday to discuss the ceasefire in Syria due to come into effect at midnight, Erdogan’s spokesman said in a statement.

The leaders also discussed upcoming talks about Syria due to take place in the Kazakh capital Astana, spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said in the statement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a ceasefire between Syrian opposition groups and the Syrian government starting at midnight on Thursday. The Kremlin statement came after Moscow, Iran and Turkey said they were ready to broker a peace deal in the nearly six-year-old Syrian war.

  7. Obama under pressure to prove Russian interference in election

The Obama administration is under intense pressure to release evidence confirming Russian interference in the presidential election before leaving office.

The administration up until now has provided little documentation to back up its official October assessment that the Russian government was attempting to “interfere” in the U.S. election.

Nor has it corroborated subsequent leaks from anonymous officials contending that the CIA believes the campaign was an attempt by Russian President Vladimir Putin to ensure Donald Trump’s victory.

President Obama has ordered the intelligence community to produce a complete review of its findings before Trump takes office on Jan. 20. The White House has said it will make as much of the report public as it can.

But officials have warned that the document will contain “highly sensitive and classified information” and it is unclear how much concrete evidence it will be able to release.

Who is Mohammed Usman Rana? He’s a 31-year-old Norwegian doctor and newspaper columnist who first appeared on my radar in 2007 when, as an undergraduate at the University of Oslo, he took part in a debate about Muslim attitudes toward gay people. Rana, who at the time was head of UiO’s Muslim Student Association, said that he personally opposed executing gays, but refused to criticize countries that punish homosexuality with death. Pressed further on the issue by his opponents, Rana pulled a slick switcheroo, charging that it was not he but they who were displaying intolerance. How dare they sit in judgment of Islamic law?

Did Rana’s failure to condemn the execution of gay people make him an outcast? Of course not – we’re talking about Scandinavia here, after all. Only a few months after the above-mentioned debate, he wrote an op-ed for Aftenposten, Norway’s newspaper of record, in which he picked up where he’d left off. Norwegians, he complained in the piece, are “secular extremists” who are insufficiently respectful of orthodox Islam, who hope for an “Islamic reformation” that would in fact mutilate the religion, and who prefer to hear from secular Muslims and ex-Muslims (think Ayaan Hirsi Ali) than from genuine believers such as himself.

    • The first man seems to have forgotten how over the past 8 years Obama has pulled the US out of Europe as much as he could and left everything to Putin. The only time he has opposed Putin was when Putin insisted on keeping Assad in power. It was the European NATO nations that moved the European Armies to the Russian Borders.

  9. Obama administration now bringing in 290 Muslim migrants every day
DECEMBER 29, 2016 1:26 AM BY ROBERT SPENCER 34 COMMENTS

Yes, they are overwhelmingly Muslim, so we can be sure that many will bring with them a model of society and governance that they are convinced is superior to the one they will encounter here. And many will be determined to replace the one with the other. Obama is sowing the seeds of civil strife for decades to come.

  11. If Obama is not a devout Muslim, why else would he send $770,000,000 to terrorist nations for mosques?

These actions explain why he plays nice with the Iranians, refuses to destroy ISIS, and has allowed Islam to run rampant inside the United States. Obama has done almost everything he can to turn the United States into a Muslim Nation.

  12. Spanish Military Report: Islamic Terrorists Operate, Raise Cash in Latin America to Attack U.S.

Latin America is a hotbed of Islamic terrorism where groups like ISIS and Hezbollah operate freely and raise large sums of money to finance terrorist activities in other countries, mainly the United States, according to a new report released by Spain’s Defense Ministry. “Latin America represents an important region for Islamic radicalism because conditions enable the free, almost undetectable, movement of their members throughout the region,” the defense document states.

Governments in the region consider Islamic terrorism to be a foreign problem, the report says, and intelligence agencies are ill equipped to handle the threat they represent. “The ignorance involving the threat of jihadist terrorism in Latin America has been such that some governments have refused to cooperate with U.S. authorities and other intelligence services,” the disturbing assessment reveals. The report was released this month by the division of Spain’s Defense agency known as Instituto Español de Estudios Estratégicos (IEEE), Spanish Institute of Strategic Studies. The document, authored by a counterterrorism expert, is titled “El radicalismo islámico en América Latina. De Hezbolá al Daesh (Estado Islámico),” Islamic Radicalism in Latin America, from Hezbollah to ISIS.

The Lebanese group Hezbollah is identified as having the largest fundraising operations in the region, though others, such as ISIS, are also prominent. The terrorist organizations have teamed up with established drug trafficking conglomerates to raise and launder large quantities of cash. The report identifies a group called El clan Barakat in Paraguay and Joumaa in Colombia as two examples of drug trafficking enterprises that have long worked with Islamic jihadists to launder money. Spain’s military experts refer to the relationships as a “marriage of convenience” between Latin American organized crime and Muslim terrorists with different objectives and interests. “Each takes advantage of the benefits that the relationship provides,” the report states.

ISIS is expanding quickly in Latin America, the report warns, revealing that around 100 individuals from the region’s large Muslim community have traveled to Syria and Iraq to join terrorist groups recently. Argentina and Brazil have the largest Muslim populations in Latin America with more than 1 million each, the report says. Venezuela, Mexico, Peru and Chile also have large and rapidly growing Muslim populations. Trinidad and Tobago, Caribbean islands on the northern edge of Latin America, are identified as “especially worrisome” because local authorities reported that 70 of their citizens traveled to Syria and Iraq to join ISIS. Additionally, nine of the islands’ citizens were detained in Turkey attempting to cross the border into Syria. The report cites a 2012 article in a military publication from Trinidad that compares the growth of radical Islam in the country to a group of violent Muslims that tried to overthrow the government in 1990.

    • As far as I can tell this is the ignored front in the war against the Islamic Conquest, we will have a lot of trouble in the coming years from the terror groups with bases in South America.

  13. WASHINGTON
As America’s first family enjoys its eighth and final vacation in Hawaii, new estimates put the price tag of the Obamas’ annual trip at $3.5 million or more.

In total, the cost of the the first family’s personal or largely personal travel during the last eight years comes to $85 million – though that is likely to climb to $90 million after additional records are released, according to the conservative group Judicial Watch based on federal government records.

The cost of Air Force One and other government planes as well as helicopters, cargo planes, armored cars, Secret Service protection and advance, communications and medical staff has led Judicial Watch to push for less personal travel.

    • Just think of that $90 million as 0bama’s jizya. America cannot rid itself of this political blood-tick soon enough.

  14. Man Arrested After Demanding That McDonald’s Workers Turn Off “Christian Music” Playing In Eatery

Angered that “Christian music” was being played inside a McDonald’s, a Florida man cursed at employees and other patrons and demanded that they “turn it off and play Muslim and Hindu music,” according to cops who arrested the customer.

Joseph Allen, 46, walked into the McDonald’s around 10:20 AM Tuesday and created “a threat to the safety of others,” according to a Largo Police Department report.

Allen, cops say, “began cursing at customers and employees” due to the “Christian music” being played over speakers in the fast food restaurant (seen below). The “Christian music” to which Allen referred was apparently Christmas tunes.

  16. ISIS-linked group calls for New Year’s Eve attacks using horrific images

Islamic State supporters are calling upon jihadis in the West to launch more holiday attacks in an effort to seize momentum after last week’s truck attack in Berlin.

In a series of graphical images posted to an encrypted Telegram channel seen by The Foreign Desk, the Nashir Media Foundation, a pro-ISIS media group, urges potential ‘lone wolf’ attacks in public venues including cinemas, malls and even hospitals.

The posts, however, make a point to warn Muslims to stay safe, away from New Years’ celebrations.

santaOne brutal image showing a knife-wielding jihadi chasing a ‘Santa on the run’ is captioned, “You disbelieving dogs which prepared for Christmas celebrations, be ready for shedding the blood scattering the shreds and funerals, for the eyes of caliphate lions are looking straight towards you and promise you with bitter deaths.”

In another image a jihadi stands next to a burning image of a numerical 2017 with an inscription that reads, “We will make your New Year mayhem with bombings and trampling attacks.”

  17. Pasadena police barricading 56 routes to Rose Parade with barriers to prevent truck attacks

The Pasadena Police Department will lock down 56 streets near the Rose Parade this year with water barricades, police cruisers and armed officers in an attempt to prevent a truck attack similar to deadly incidents in Berlin, Germany and Nice, France.

Though no known threats exist, Police Chief Phillip Sanchez said the Rose Parade’s heightened and constantly evolving security is now the norm for the annual New Year’s celebration, which attracts hundreds of thousands from around the world.

The parade, which is normally on New Year’s Day, is on Monday, Jan. 2 this year due to the Tournament of Roses’ “never on a Sunday” rule.

“This will be very obvious to you when you arrive at the parade route,” Sanchez said Wednesday at a press conference detailing local and federal authorities efforts to secure the event.

The city is installing the barriers on side streets beginning at 5 p.m., Sunday. The parade route won’t close until 7 a.m., Monday.

Sanchez said the decision to use barricades is in response to previous incidents throughout the world.

  18. After Berlin attack, German CSU wants clampdown on Mediterranean

BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany’s arch conservative Christian Social Union (CSU) party, a junior partner in Chancellor Angela Merkel’s coalition, wants to close off the Mediterranean Sea route for migrants by sending them back to Africa rather than allowing them to stay in Europe.

As a reaction to the Dec. 19 truck attack in Berlin, the Bavarian sister party to Merkel’s Christian Democrats (CDU) has drafted a paper calling for a change in policies that allow refugees rescued from endangered vessels to remain in Europe.

The CSU has long bristled at Merkel’s open-door policies that allowed into Germany about 1.1 million refugees from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere since mid-2015. Ignoring her objections, it insist on a limit of 200,000 refugees per year.

The attack last week in Berlin in which an asylum-seeker from Tunisia killed 12 people has heightened fears in Germany that there could be more security threats among the refugees.

With a election due in September, the CSU is worried about losing votes to the fast-growing far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party that takes a hard line against refugees and has directly blamed Merkel’s refugee policies for the attack.

  20. Customer is refused service because of message on her t-shirt

A Texas woman married to a police officer was refused service in a supermarket after an apparently black cashier got a glimpse of the message on her t-shirt, which proclaimed that “police lives matter.”

The woman, who chose to be identified only as Meredith, told ABC affiliate KTRK, that the teenage cashier did not address her directly about the shirt but instead spoke with a coworker. “She was stating that the shirt I had on was basically a slap in the face to her and she was doing everything she could not to cry,” Meredith told reporters.

But the incident is not isolated. Opposing Views notes a similar occurrence in Alexandria, La., where a woman named Sabrina Farace says she was refused service at Kroger. Farace, who is herself on the force, provided details of her ecounter to the website Blue Lives Matter:

On 09-27-16 at approximately 4:00 PM I was in Kroger’s shopping with my 6-year-old daughter. I walked up to the checkout line and placed my items on the counter for the cashier to scan my items. She sat there for a few moments and kept looking at me odd. When she refused to speak or pick any of my items up, I asked her if I could help her. She replied, “Do you have your Kroger card?” At which I responded, “Yes, I do.” I handed her my Kroger member card and she reluctantly took it from my hands. After she took [the card] I was waiting for her to continue checking me out. She looked at me and with a rude tone she asked “Are you on the force?” I stated, “Come again?” She asked again, rudely, “Are you on the force, are you a cop?” I stated “Yes, maam I am a cop.” She then looked at me and stated, “I can’t check you out, I have to go get my supervisor.”

    http://libertyunyielding.com/2016/12/28/customer-is-refused-service-because-of-message-on-her-t-shirt/

    • Time for all police and law enforcement to stop shopping at Kroger. The checker should face disciplinary action (if not being fired), and the chain should consider issuing a policy statement that expresses appreciation for how the presence of LEO (Law Enforcement Officers) helps to increase safety levels within their stores.

“She was stating that the shirt I had on was basically a slap in the face to her and she was doing everything she could not to cry,”

So, what are we supposed to call these emotionally fragile Black youngsters, “tarflakes”?

  21. LEYTE, Philippines – Twin blasts injured at least 32 people including, ten children at a boxing match in Hilongos town in Leyte province in central Philippines at 9 pm on Wednesday.
16 of those injured had to be admitted to various hospitals, while the others were sent home after being treated for minor wounds.
Mayor Albert Villahermosa, who was at the place when the incident happened, said the first bomb went off at around 9:30 pm followed by the second one merely 30 seconds later.
Half an hour later, another bomb went off in Aleosan town, Cotabato.
The roadside bomb injured six people on a passing truck too.
Senior Inspector Jenyzen Enciso, a provincial police spokesperson said an 81 mm mortar cartridge and a cellphone were used to detonate the homemade bombs.

  22. Germany: Authorities release man arrested in connection with Berlin truck attack

A 40-year-old Tunisian man, suspected of having had contact with Anis Amri shortly before the attack at a Berlin Christmas market, has been released, federal prosecution spokesperson Frauke Koehler announced at a press conference in Karlsruhe on Thursday.

SOT, Frauke Koehler, Federal prosecution spokesperson (German): “The 40-year-old Tunisian national, who was temporarily arrested yesterday, has been released again. He was arrested yesterday, as it was suspected that Anis Amri could have sent him a voice message and a picture through a messenger service shortly before the attack. However further investigations revealed that the provisionally arrested [man] is not the potential contact person for Anis Amri. Hence he was released. Regarding the status of the investigation I can tell you that we believe the video claiming responsibility, published by the media outlet close to IS, is authentic and shows Anis Amri.”

SOT, Frauke Koehler, Federal prosecution spokesperson (German): “According to the interim autopsy report, knife wounds were not determined. We have to wait for the final autopsy report to know the exact time of death. Forensics has announced this for January. I am asking for your understanding that I cannot share any more details yet. We currently believe that the lorry slowed down due to an automatic braking system, which had already been installed, and came to a halt after around 70 to 80 metres. For this reason even worse consequences were thwarted.”

  23. Russia: FSB detains group with alleged IS links

Russia’s Federal Security Service detained a group linked to the so-called Islamic State in Dagestan. Footage released on Thursday shows officers detaining seven suspects during a counter-terrorist operation. A large number of firearms, ammunition and explosive devices were seized during the raid.

The suspects allegedly plotted terror attacks in Moscow thought to be under the direction of the so-called Islamic State (IS/formerly ISIS/ISIL) from Syria.

Over the last two months, Russian security forces have conducted several similar operations arresting dozens of suspects in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

  24. Netherlands: Primary School Children forced to pray to Allah in “Multicultural Curriculum”

    • I sincerely doubt that I’m the only one here who can palpably feel their blood pressure spike every time they see this image. The parents of these students should be able to sue in court all involved for “emotional trauma” and “psychological harm”.

This is Multiculturalist indoctrination at its very finest worst.

I hope that every one of these kids ate a bacon sandwich before attending and then spit on those prayer rugs.

    • Peters nails it by referring to Obama’s Cairo speech, delivered no less at Al-Azhar University, better known as Terror Central.

“…America is not — and never will be — at war with Islam.”
      — 0bama

This idiotic bit of surrender drivel set the stage for eight solid years of appeasing Muslims. The net result being that terrorists and parasitic immigrants alike were emboldened and America’s prestige as a superpower went straight into the toilet. It is difficult to recall a more shameful and harmful presidential foreign policy legacy in this nation’s history.

Of far greater importance is Peters’ prediction that there will be no “two-state” or “three-state” solution. Israel’s ultimate rejection of this dragged-out farce would be one of the most tremendous signals to all Islam. As in, “This silly charade is over, and the faux “Palestinians” with their unceasing, low-intensity conflict (i.e., jihad) will no longer be tolerated.”

No “land for peace” because there never will be any meaningful peace, not ever. No more Oslo Accords. No more Camp Davids. Far more effective would be if Israel simply ceased supplying Gaza and the West Bank with drinking water and electricity. This entire Grand Guignol would come to an abrupt halt.

  25. Rep. Babin: Stop Obama’s ‘Trojan Horse’ refugee program

Texas Congressman Brian Babin says Congress must say no to President Obama’s $3.9 billion slush fund for refugees.

    • Any performer that refused to perform for Obama would have been run out of this nation, now the left is showing that they are 1) intolerant and 2) believe in a different standard when a Democrat is sworn in and when a Republican is sworn in.

  26. Untrained refugees employed as security guards in Cologne on New Year’s Eve

IT has just been revealed that UNTRAINED refugees were deployed as security personnel on New Year’s Eve in Cologne last year.

But many abandoned their posts and at least one was so drunk he couldn’t work.

A total of 59 asylum seekers were stationed on bridges across the Rhine to assist in a mammoth security operation aimed at stopping any trouble.

Last year mobs of mostly North African men sexually assaulted and robbed hundreds of women in and around the city’s main railway station as police totally lost control of the situation.

On September 7, 2015 authorities made the decision to give some refugees a role in the policing of celebrations – a little known fact which has only just emerged.

The security firm Westturm was in charge of hiring the migrants who were told to have a “basic mastery of the German language and to bring along warm clothing”.

Bild published a list of those who were hired on Thursday.

Most came from North Africa, Syria and Afghanistan.

They were paid £4.25 (€5) which is little more than half of the statutory minumum wage in Germany.

But the city of Cologne was billed three times as much by the security agency which recruited them.

The calibre of personnel caused concern long before the fateful night.

A former senior executive of Westturm told Bild: “Our employees collected the refugees in three initial reception centres in Ratingen and brought them in minibuses to the bridges where they were stationed.

    Cologne protestors

“We knew not at all exactly who these people were. They got a security vest and some radios.”

Cologne authorities are taking no chances this year and are flooding the city with 1,500 police – ten times the number on duty in 2015 – to stop a repeat of the disgraceful scenes.

Police are particularly worried about the Hohenzollern railway bridge over the Rhine which leads into the station.

There were fears last year that the mass numbers of people crossing it could have led to a crushing incident and trains had to be cancelled because of the number of people pouring across it.

Refugees were stationed on it to assist in crowd control.

Twenty were also assigned to the Zoo Bridge and others were stationed on the Deutzer and Severnin bridges.

But things quickly began to go awry.

Five of the 20 refugees on the Zoo Bridge vanished from their posts almost immediately – but time sheets of the Westturm firm showed the city was billed five hours for each of them.

On the Deutzer bridge a guard called Arif had to quit his post because he was drunk and his replacement, a man called Süyleman, left after two hours work.

On the Hohenzollern Bridge refugee Kemal lost his radio and then walked off the job almost immediately after starting his shift.

A spokesman for Cologne city council said it had not had any problem with the Westturm company in the past.

  27. UN, Obama Further Radicalize Palestinians

    by Khaled Abu Toameh
    December 29, 2016 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9675/un-obama-palestinians

Buoyed by the latest United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israeli settlements as illegal, Palestinian leaders are now threatening to step up their diplomatic warfare against Israel — a move that is sure to sabotage any future effort to revive the moribund peace process. Other Palestinians, meanwhile, view the resolution as license to escalate “resistance” attacks on Israel. By “resistance,” of course, they mean terror attacks against Israel.

The UNSC resolution sent the following message to the Palestinians: Forget about negotiating with Israel. Just pressure the international community to force Israel to comply with the resolution and surrender up all that you demand.

Meanwhile, the Palestinians are not wasting any time by waiting for the international community to act against Israel on their behalf. Rather, they are thinking of ways of taking advantage of the UNSC vote to promote their campaign to isolate and delegitimize Israel, especially in the international arena. One thing is certain: Abbas and his Palestinian Authority cronies are not planning to return to the negotiating table with Israel. In fact, they are more belligerent, confrontational and defiant than ever.

In the days following the UNSC vote, the voices emerging from Ramallah and the Gaza Strip clearly indicate that Palestinians have put themselves on a collision course with Israel. This bodes badly for any peace process.

Earlier this week, Abbas convened the PLO Executive Committee — a decision-making body dominated by his loyalists — to discuss the implications of the new resolution. The declared purpose of the meeting: to discuss the decisions and strategy that the Palestinian leadership needs to take in the aftermath of the resolution.

  28. Iran in Syria: Russia Took Over

    by Heshmat Alevi
    December 29, 2016 at 4:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9674/iran-syria-russia

The recent three-party conference held in Moscow with the participation of Russia, Turkey and Iran came to a significant end. With mainstream media emphasizing how the U.S. Administration was completely sidelined in talks that discussed the future of Syria, a different perspective also sheds light on how Iran was sidelined to an unprecedented degree. Considering that this session ended with a document signed by all three parties, one can take a hard look at the results.

This document emphasizes Syria’s independence and territorial integrity as a multi-racial, multi-religious, non-sectarian, democratic and secular state; underscores the necessity of reaching a political solution; welcomes joint efforts in East Aleppo to evacuate civilians and armed rebels; highlights the need to expand a ceasefire across the country and facilitate access to humanitarian aid; supports a possible agreement between the Syrian opposition and the Syrian government; and accentuates continuing joint efforts against terrorism and especially the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL), differentiating their forces from those of the armed democratic opposition.

    • Assad wasn’t at the talks but he will remain in power as long as he is a good little Puppet for Putin. Iran wasn’t at the talks because Russia wants to keep Iran out of Syria, they have been given Iraq and told to be satisfied. This may make it marginally safer for Israel but it will make it more dangerous for Jordan. It may also mean that Hezbollah will move to take control of the area around the Israeli Syria border and try to establish a corridor to Iranian territory to secure its supply line to the Iranian factories.

Also remember that China is sending ships into the Med signaling they want to be a player in that region, In my opinion this would be a mistake for the Chinese since their Navy is small and to a large extent not as well trained as the other Navy’s in the Med. Most of the Chinese Navy is made up of 2 year conscripts who are not what really well trained and if they are like the Soviet Navy the officers are having to do most of the jobs that NCOs do in Western Navys.

  29. Kids Missing Once-in-Lifetime Inauguration Performance…All Because Band Leaders Refuse to Attend

Martin beat me to it with the Rockettes article, but this musically-related incident really tugs at the heartstrings (so to speak). After all, that dancer in New York could just opt out of the inaugural event, couldn’t she? Strange that she didn’t announce her refusal to participate. Rather flexible morals, sort of like her legs … but we won’t go into that right now.

What really cheeses me off is that these young performers will be denied—not just a chance at being a part of history, but also—an invaluable entry on their scholastic and professional musical résumé; as in “performed at the 2017 presidential inauguration”. It’s a safe bet that few of these kids have anything remotely resembling fully-formed political philosophies. Ergo, it’s equally safe to presume that this decision to boycott was made by higher-ups who merely imposed their own political agenda upon these hapless kids.

    For shame!

Liberals are famous for their obsessive concern about children except, of course, if it somehow manages to interfere with their even greater fixation upon political (i.e., virtue) signalling.

  30. Obama orders Russia expulsions, sanctions for interference in 2016 election

President Barack Obama on Thursday ordered the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats and sanctioned Russian intelligence officials who Washington believes were involved in hacking U.S. political groups in the 2016 presidential election.

The measures, taken during the last days of Obama’s presidency, mark a new low in U.S.-Russian relations which have deteriorated over serious differences on Ukraine and Syria.

“These actions follow repeated private and public warnings that we have issued to the Russian government, and are a necessary and appropriate response to efforts to harm U.S. interests in violation of established international norms of behavior,” Obama said in a statement from vacation in Hawaii.

It was not immediately clear whether President-elect Donald Trump, who has repeatedly praised Russian President Vladimir Putin and nominated people seen as friendly toward Moscow to senior administration posts, would seek to roll back the measures once he takes office on Jan. 20.

Obama is seeking to deter Russia and other foreign governments from leveraging cyber attacks in the future to meddle in U.S. politics, former officials and cyber security experts said.

Obama has been under growing pressure from within his own administration and lawmakers of both political parties to respond more forcefully to the cyber attacks, which included leaked emails of Democratic Party operatives that became part of the media coverage in the campaign for the Nov. 8 presidential election.

The Russian foreign ministry said on Thursday the sanctions were counter-productive and would harm the restoration of bilateral ties. Moscow denies the hacking allegation.

Obama sanctioned two Russian intelligence agencies, the GRU and the FSB, four GRU officers and three companies “that provided material support to the GRU’s cyber operations.

    PERSONA NON GRATA

Obama said the State Department declared as “persona non grata” 35 Russian intelligence operatives and is closing two Russian compounds in New York and Maryland that were used by Russian personnel for “intelligence-related purposes”. The State Department originally said the 35 were diplomats.

A senior U.S. official told Reuters the move would affect the Russian embassy in Washington and consulate in San Francisco.

The Russians have 72 hours to leave the United States, the official said. Access to the two compounds, which are used by Russian officials for intelligence gathering, will be denied to all Russian officials as of noon on Friday, the senior U.S. official added.

“These actions were taken to respond to Russian harassment of American diplomats and actions by the diplomats that we have assessed to be not consistent with diplomatic practice,” the official said.

The State Department has long complained that Russian security agents and traffic police have harassed U.S. diplomats in Moscow, and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has raised the issue with Putin and his foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov.

“By imposing costs on the Russian diplomats in the United States, by denying them access to the two facilities, we hope the Russian government reevaluates its own actions, which have impeded the ability and safety of our own embassy personnel in Russia,” the official said.

The U.S. official declined to name the Russian diplomats who would be affected, although it is understood that Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Sergei Kislyak, will not be one of those expelled.

        • I would love to know what his motive is?

Is he being an arrogant fool?

Is he trying to prevent PET from accomplishing anything?

Or is he trying to create some type of foreign policy record for another run for President in 4 years?

    • If they were legal intelligence operatives they were listed as diplomats. Now depending on how upset Putin is he will either expell 35 US diplomats or possibly more. Either way it will be hard for PET to build any type of working relationship with Russia now. instead of frienemy competitors we are semi open enemy competitors. Given the current mess the world is in this will hurt both Russia and the US.

  31. Barack Obama expels 35 Russian ‘spies’ over election hacking row in ‘Cold War deja vu’

The United States has expelled 35 Russian spies in response to Kremlin-backed hacking of the presidential election, further escalating tensions between Moscow and Washington.

The diplomatic officials from the Russian embassy in Washington and its consulate in San Francisco were deemed “persona non grata” and told to leave the country within 72 hours.

President Barack Obama also announced it was closing two compounds owned by the Russian government, and used for intelligence operations, in New York and Maryland, from noon on Friday.

Richard: We still haven’t seen any evidence that it was Russia that hacked the DNC or that they tried to interfere in the election, all we have is the word of people who have been proven liars before, lies that Obama wanted told.

By doing this Obama has made it hard for PET to build any type of good working relationship with Putin. I know Lt. Col. Peters thinks that PET will be rolled by Putin the way Bush and Obama were. Of course Obama and Hillary didn’t really want a good relationship between the US and Russia so that one may not count.

    • Deliberate misdirection.
      Leaks => hacks. News discredited.
DNC revelations of primary fraud => votes hacked.
      ==> Election stolen!
Escalate. Israel did it for the Russians!

      To coin a phrase:
~~ At this point, what difference does it make? ~~

      • That’s right and it has the added bonus of making the Soros funded groups mad so they will riot more often. At this point I don’t see any way out of a civil probably starting sometime next year.

  32. John Kerry: Obstacle to Peace
Kerry believes that peace is what happens when the bad guys win.

Before Obama decided to “abstain” from standing with Israel in a UN vote condemning the Jewish State, he had abstained from voting in defense of America in a UN resolution condemning the United States.

Obama, like Power and Kerry, have treated Israel just like they treated the United States.

John Forbes Kerry began his miserable career as a traitor seeking “peace” by pandering to the Communist leader negotiating on behalf of the Viet Cong. He concludes his miserable career in the Senate and as Secretary of State by going to war in the name of “peace” against the only democracy in the Middle East on behalf of a totalitarian Islamic ideology and its terrorist bands of killers.

Half a century has passed. The Berlin Wall fell. So did the Soviet Union. But John Kerry remains the same.

A few months after he slimed his way into the Senate, Kerry flew to Nicaragua to meet with the ruling Communist thugs to try and sabotage aid to the resistance against their regime in the name of “peace”. The Sandinistas treated Kerry like a pathetic patsy, humiliating him by allying openly with the USSR right after their man in Washington D.C. had successfully pleaded their case to his colleagues.

  33. John Kerry’s Farewell Stab at Israel
A fitting conclusion to a disastrous tenure as secretary of state.
    December 29, 2016
    Joseph Klein

On December 28th, outgoing Secretary of State John Kerry delivered a rambling truth-challenged defense of the Obama administration’s scandalous decision allowing the United Nations Security Council to pass its most egregious anti-Israel resolution yet. Security Council Resolution 2334, which was adopted last Friday, denounced Israel’s settlements activities as illegal and destructive to the prospects of a two-state solution. Kerry concluded his 73 minute speech by outlining six principles to guide direct negotiations of a final status agreement on all outstanding issues, giving some indication that the Obama administration does not intend to use the Security Council to impose complete parameters for a final agreement or to unilaterally recognize a state of Palestine before a final agreement between the parties is reached. However, given President Obama’s animus toward Israel, and particularly Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Obama may still have something up his sleeve to further hurt Israel.

Prime Minister Netanyahu said in reaction to Kerry’s speech that it was “as unbalanced as the anti-Israel resolution passed [at the United Nations] last week.” Indeed, the Obama administration destroyed all prospects for good faith negotiations directly between the Israelis and Palestinians by facilitating the Palestinians’ lawfare strategy executed through the United Nations. The anti-Israel Security Council resolution Kerry called “balanced” prejudges all the major issues against Israel under the patina of international law.

  34. Transcript Exposes Kerry’s Collaboration With Terrorists Against Israel
    December 29, 2016
    Daniel Greenfield

The mask is coming off. All the way.

According to a report by the Egyptian newspaper Al-Youm Al-Sabea newspaper Secretary of State John Kerry and UN Ambassador Susan Rice met with a delegation of Palestinians on December 15th in Washington D.C. and introduced of the anti-Israel resolution which was passed eight days later on December 23 by the UN Security Council thanks to an Obama-direct abstention.

The Egyptian newspaper published what it claims are the transcripts of meetings between top US and Palestinian officials that, seems to corroborate Israeli accusations that the Obama administration was behind last week’s UN Security Council resolution…

Egypt is very much in the know considering its position. And it has plenty of reasons to resent Kerry over his backing of the Muslim Brotherhood takeover.

  35. Egyptian Paper Proves Kerry Plotted UN Resolution W/Palestinians (Next Step Imposing Solution On Israel?)

The Egyptian newspaper published what it claims are the transcripts of meetings between top US and Palestinian officials that, seems to corroborate Israeli accusations that the Obama administration was behind last week’s UN Security Council resolution. And hints that the Palestinians have already seen the plan Kerry is presenting on Wed. 12/25, which Israel fears is the first step to the Obama administration imposing a “peace solution” on Israel.

Another possibility being discuss is that before he leaves office, Barack Obama will “recognize” a Palestinian state. Any of these possibilities remove any need for negotiations, Obama/Kerry plan to give the Palestinians what they want, so why bother negotiating with Israel–which has been the Palestinian position since Obama took office and made the settlements a major issue.

  36. Before Obama Abstained From Defending Israel at the UN, He Abstained From Defending the US
    December 29, 2016
    Daniel Greenfield

Obama really does treat Israel just like the United States. Sure he abstained from a UN vote condemning it. But he did the same thing to America.

A generation ago the Communist tyranny in Cuba demanded that the United Nations condemn America for the embargo. The brutal Castro regime’s rant accused the United States of threatening “nuclear annihilation,” “countless acts of sabotage and plans to assassinate Cuban leaders.”

On a cold day in October, the European left-wing activist serving as UN Ambassador announced to applause that her administration would no longer be voting to defend the US at the UN.

“UN Member States have voted overwhelmingly for a General Assembly resolution that condemns the U.S. embargo and calls for it to be ended. The United States has always voted against this resolution. Today the United States will abstain,” Samantha Power said.

“Thank you,” she added, acknowledging the applause.

Under Obama, the United States would no longer defend the United States.

  37. “Norwegian Islam”?
A smooth-talking stealth jihadist continues his rise to the top of the Norwegian cultural establishment.
    December 29, 2016
    Bruce Bawer

Rana’s essay won an award from Aftenposten – a victory that catapulted him into the top ranks of the nation’s commentariat and made him, in the words of author Ole Asbjørn Ness, “Aftenposten’s deadly serious house Islamist.” Who, by the way, chose to give Rana the award? A fellow by the name of Knut Olav Åmås, who at the time was an editor of Aftenposten and who happens to be openly gay. Yes, that’s right: a gay editor gave a major career boost to a writer who refused to criticize the death penalty for gay people. Welcome to Norwa

  38. Andrew Torba Talks Fighting Internet Censorship and His New Site ‘Gab’
An alternative to leftist-controlled social media.

Andrew Torba from DHFC on Vimeo.

Well, folks, it’s great to be here, and it feels fantastic to finally win, but now it’s time to get to work. We can’t get tired. We have to take our culture back. We have to take our media back if we’re going to win. So I have two quotes here to start off, and one is from John Milton, and one is from Charles Bukowski. So one is, “Give me the liberty to know, to utter and to argue freely, according to conscience above all liberties.” And I believe this is the most important liberty because unless we can speak freely, we can’t get truth out to the people. And this is something that is being suppressed on the Internet, whether you realize it or not. So, as was mentioned, I worked in Silicon Valley, lived and worked in Silicon Valley for a few years, and I since escaped and made headway to Texas, home of some more conservatives and some more conservative thinkers, but while I was there, I got some insight into what Facebook and Google and Twitter and all of these companies are doing to push their agenda on billions of people that are using their products each and every day, and I saw this stuff happening firsthand.

And what I’m going to show you today, I’m going to run through a few examples, but these are only just a handful, and this stuff is happening every single day. And the nature of censorship is that you don’t know that it’s happening until it’s already too late because you’re not seeing things because they’re being censored. So let’s go through just a few examples here, and the first one is myself. So I kept my politics to myself for 5 years that I was in the tech industry, up until about 6 months ago, and when I finally came out as a pro-Trump, Republican, conservative Christian, I started getting suppressed. I started being blacklisted. I started having people cancel their memberships with my prior company. I worked in an ad site company, where I was working with Facebook, Twitter, and Google, helping digital advertisers, and I started getting banned. So the trailer that you saw right before Milo got on stage the other day, I shared that on my Facebook, and I was banned for 24 hours for sharing that because I have 40,000 followers, and I’m a very influential person on Facebook. And because I shared that trailer that you saw the other day, I was banned for 24 hours, shut up completely. Just this weekend, Y Combinator, which I was a part of back in 2015 with my first company, decided to blacklist me and ban me from their network. Why? Because I said build the wall on Twitter, and they had some of their other founders who felt that they were unsafe by my statement. So they prioritized immigrant feelings over an American support for political policy and decided to completely blacklist me and shut me out completely from the network. So I’m the first example of censorship as a great example.

  39. Ending the Confusion of the Obama Years
    Terrorism isn’t an existential threat?
    December 29, 2016
    Howard Rotberg

I have been writing about terrorism now for 13 years. Like many other writers, the tragic events of 9/11 in September, 2001 were one impetus for my inquiry into the goals and methods of terrorism. The other impetus is a growing recognition that terrorism often seems to work exactly as it is planned to do: it so strikes fear into the minds of otherwise good people that they begin to submit to the moral framework of the terrorists and begin to adopt the cause of the terrorists.

Unfortunately, during the Obama Presidency, both politicians and left-leaning journalists have scoffed at the proposition that terrorism poses any existential threat. That is because they define “existential” narrowly to mean anything that could defeat, destroy or wipe out America. They do not, as I do, define existential to include not just living but living “free” and having individual human rights, a fair Justice System and the other Constitutional protections. For me, submission to the ideology of Islamists destroys bit by bit what I see as “free” existence. To the extent that we give in, submit to, respect, tolerate or empathize with the cause of the terrorists, we have lost our freedom and have gone down the road to submission, whether or not our militaries are defeated in “conventional war.” We can look at opinions in the media and the universities to see this empathy, or look at how the Democratic Party is considering a Muslim with contacts among Islamist terror supporting organizations to be the Chair of the DNC.

“Live Free or Die” is the official motto of the U.S. state of New Hampshire, adopted by the state in 1945. How things have changed in American political culture since 1945.

As 2016 comes to a close, it’s important to realize that the left’s continuing hysteria over global warming still does not match reality. The current facts show that there are not rising temperatures at alarming levels and, if anything, the planet seems to be experiencing more of a cooling phase than a warming phase.

Here are five pieces of news that show that global warming is not causing armageddon.
