  1. MEMRI TV – Algerian Sheikh Chemseddine Bouroubi Prohibits Sex Dolls!

In his fatwa show on the Algerian Ennahar TV on October 8 and then again on October 20, Sheikh Chemseddine Bouroubi warned against a phenomenon apparently spreading in Algerian society: the purchase of sex dolls. Sheikh Bouroubi said that a Chinese company had begun to distribute these dolls in Algeria. He warned against the dangers inherent in “marrying” sex dolls and said that “the [Algerian] state must intervene and ban these dolls.” He further said: “Statues are haram, hence these sex dolls are haram – even before we get to talking about what is done with them.”

  2. Thousands in Kashmir Hide From Crackdown, Some in Orchards (abnews, Nov 4, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/thousands-kashmir-hide-crackdown-orchards-43295606

“… More than 8,000 people, mostly teenage boys and young men, have been rounded up and put in jail. Thousands more are being sought as suspects, but police refuse to give an actual count, saying the number is constantly changing.

Authorities say the suspects pose security risks, having hurled rocks at government forces or clashed with police. Some are suspected of aiding or joining separatist rebels fighting for Kashmir’s independence or its merger with neighboring Pakistan. But many are simply identified as having taken part in what India says are illegal protests.

Those dodging arrest by hiding in Kashmir’s many apple orchards say they’re being unfairly targeted by Indian forces bent on criminalizing dissent.

“We’re paying the cost for raising our voice for freedom,” said a university art student now in hiding, one of 40 wanted men who spoke with the Associated Press on condition of anonymity for fear of being caught. “Now we’re scared even by our own shadows.”…”

  3. Thousands Protest in Jakarta Against Gov’s Alleged Blasphemy (abcnews, Nov 4, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/indonesian-capital-braces-big-blasphemy-protest-43294583

“Tens of thousands of hard-line Muslims converged Friday on the center of the Indonesian capital to demand the arrest of its minority-Christian governor for alleged blasphemy.

Fearing violence, police have put on a show of force supported by soldiers and public order officers, while embassies closed, some shops shuttered and Jakarta’s normally traffic-clogged streets were nearly empty of cars.

The predominantly male demonstrators, most wearing white shirts and skull caps, massed at the Istiqlal Mosque for the protest following weekly Friday prayers and marched on the nearby presidential palace. Protests are also taking place in other cities including Medan on Sumatra, Makassar in Sulawesi and Malang in East Java.

The accusation of blasphemy against Jakarta Gov. Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama, an ethnic Chinese and minority Christian who is an ally of the country’s president, has galvanized his political opponents in the Muslim-majority nation of 250 million, and given a notorious group of hard-liners a national stage.

The Islamic Defenders Front, a vigilante group that wants to impose Shariah law, is demanding Ahok’s arrest after a video circulated online in which he joked to an audience about a passage in the Quran that could be interpreted as prohibiting Muslims from accepting non-Muslims as leaders. The governor has apologized for the comment and met with police.

“We are here because we want to defend the verses of God that have been abused by Ahok,” said Nasrullah Achmad, who came from Bekasi, a Jakarta satellite city, with dozens of others from his Islamic study group. They raised clenched fists and shouted “God is Great.”

“Only one thing can stop us: Ahok’s arrest,” said Achmad.

Some protesters snapped selfies of themselves wearing headbands emblazoned with “Arrest Ahok” and others cheered as speakers denounced him with hate-filled language. Many held aloft flags and banners with slogans such as “Ahok is an enemy of Islam.”

Blasphemy is a criminal offense in Indonesia and prosecutions have increased in the past decade though most people practice a moderate form of Islam. Amnesty International documented 106 convictions between 2004 and 2014 with some imprisoned for up to five years….”

      • Indonesian police dressed in Robocop-like outfits and backed by water cannon were drafted onto streets

What they neglect to mention is how the Indonesian police lace their water cannons with a powerful dye in order to “paint” participants in whatever protest they are disrupting. During mopping up operations afterwards, it is merely a matter of arresting anyone who is trotting about with a bright purple complexion.

When water cannon tanks run dry, they have even been known to refill them with raw sewage. This tactic has proven to be highly efficacious when dispersing cantankerous mobs of ever-fastidious Muslims. Personally, I find it effing hilarious!

          • Back in the 80s people started to try that here and the “civil rights groups” screamed so much the various cities stopped looking at the weapons.

  4. Kenya Warned Against Closing World’s Largest Refugee Camp (abcnews, Nov 4, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/kenya-warned-closing-worlds-largest-refugee-camp-43295506

“Another major aid group is warning Kenya not to close the world’s largest refugee camp, saying the move is pressuring tens of thousands of Somali refugees to return to their deeply unstable country.

A new Refugees International report says Somali refugees in the Dadaab camp in Kenya say they feel under pressure to leave for Somalia, where attacks by Islamic extremist group al-Shabab continue and hunger is widespread.

The U.N. refugee agency “claims that it only supports voluntary returns, but none of the refugees whom we spoke with in Dadaab said they felt like they have much choice,” said Mark Yarnell, who wrote the report after visiting Dadaab and Somalia. “It is a failure of the international refugee response system that other options are not available.”

The report says Kenya should lift its Nov. 30 deadline to close the camp, which has existed for a quarter-century and holds more than 250,000 people. It sprawls in a dry, thorny region near the border with Somalia, where many born in the camp have never been.

Groups including Doctors Without Borders, Human Rights Watch and the Norwegian Refugee Council also have expressed alarm in recent weeks over Kenya’s reported pressure on Somali refugees to leave. They say large parts of Somalia remain insecure and aid for returnees is limited.

Kenya has expressed concern that some Dadaab residents are used by the Somalia-based al-Shabab to launch attacks inside Kenya. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has said repatriations will be voluntary and humane.

The Refugees International report urges the U.N. refugee agency to give Dadaab residents “reliable information” about security conditions in Somalia as they weigh whether to return.”

  5. Heavy Fighting in Mosul as IS Hits Tank During Iraqi Assault (abcnews, Nov 4, 2016)
    http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/iraqi-troops-begin-assault-deeper-mosul-neighborhoods-43294010

“Heavy fighting erupted in the eastern neighborhoods of Mosul on Friday as Iraqi special forces launched an assault deeper into the urban areas of the city and Islamic State militants fired back, striking and disabling an Abrams tank with a rocket.

IS hit the tank with a rocket fired from a nearby building, sending its crew fleeing from the smoking vehicle, seemingly unharmed. The fighting has been the most intense urban combat in Mosul since the Iraqi offensive began over two weeks ago to drive IS from the city, Iraq’s second-largest.

The early morning advance began with artillery and mortar strikes on the Aden, Tahrir, and Quds districts, just west of special forces’ footholds in the Gogjali and Karama neighborhoods, Lt. Col. Muhanad al-Timimi told The Associated Press. Both sides opened up with small arms and mortar fire after an artillery barrage by the special forces, ahead of their advance.

A bulldozer and another car later emerged from IS-held territory, presumably packed with explosives and preparing for suicide attacks.

The Islamic State group is fighting to hold Mosul as Iraqi forces and allied Kurdish troops squeeze in from all directions with U.S.-led coalition support, mostly from airstrikes and reconnaissance…”

The blast occurred in Diyarbakir’s Baglar district, near a building used by the riot police. The Diyarbakir governor’s office said it was believed to have been caused by a car bomb carried out by the rebels of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK.

The state-run Anadolu Agency said several ambulances were sent to the scene. The private Dogan news agency reported that as many as 30 people were hurt in the blast.

    • It is no secret that Erdogan hates Kurds and the PKK. With much fan fare it was announced that Turkey would “join the fight” against ISIS, you know those same people that were selling black market oil to Erdogan’s son…
Join the fight they did by bombing the Kurds and sending troops and military equipment into northern Iraq and Syria…
My question is, how many bombings, etc in SE Turkey are false flag operations?

      • I doubt if we will ever know how many are false flag and how many are real, we are involved in a war in the Middle East, a place where politics are murkier and more corrupt then the Dems have dreamed of being.

        • …we are involved in a war in the Middle East, a place where politics are murkier and more corrupt than the Dems [ever] have dreamed of being.

Too right! It is a bit of monumental hubris upon the part of American Democrats like Hillary to think that her ilk, or even a fraction of Western politicians, have the slightest understanding of Islamic “politics” (i.e., Theological Totalitarianism) or taqiyya.

The end result being that these Liberal termites have deluded themselves into believing that, once all of their pet jihadist maggots have battered down every gate of Western Civilization then, somehow, this bunch of know-it-all academically indoctrinated Ivy League wankers will (magically) manage to snatch the reins of power from some of this world’s most hyper-violent, barbaric cretins, instead of finding themselves marched to the wall (i.e., chopping block) with no further notice.

          Who’d a thunk?!?

Yet, it is this precise sort of, “Modern Leftism and Magical Thinking” that continually propels us towards the precipice of Islamic invasion and demographic displacement of the sort that “open borders” style immigration just-as-well promises for White Civilization. There is no better example than Angela Merkel’s currently (jihadist beset) indigenous Germans.

Over 50 Chinese soldiers arrived on Thursday in the region of Ladakh, demanding to stop the activities, since any construction along the Line of Actual Control, which is the de facto border between India and China, should be agreed, NDTV channel reported. • After viewing the linked video above I surfed youtube. I came across this video which I found interesting.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0_0dE1Ezhw

It is a discussion on RT about the election. What I found interesting was the several times mentioned “republican suppression” of the vote. They never mentioned how that suppression manifests itself but, to my knowledge, the only thing that republicans are doing to “suppress votes” is ask for a picture ID.

Let me tell you a little story:
A few weeks ago my dishwasher broke. I called the Sears repairman and was told that the gaskets in the motor were disintegrating causing the black film on my dishes. The cure, throw the dishwasher out and get a new one (not replace the gaskets).
For this I paid $112. When I went to pay with a check the repairman demanded a photo ID.
So… the dishwasher repairman demands a photo ID but to vote in an election asking for a photo ID is “suppressing the vote”?
We are brainwashed repeatedly 24/7 by the media and politicians but in the REAL WORLD things are quite a bit different.
If I had my iffers I would abolish early voting and restrict absentee voting to those that pleaded a hardship. I would then use paper ballots and purple fingers to true the vote.

  15. Venezuelan military to take over distribution of medical and surgical supplies amid shortages

As Venezuelans struggle with widespread shortages in everything from basic food stuffs to toilet paper, the socialist nation’s defense minister announced on Wednesday that the military will take control of the distribution of “all medical and surgical supplies managed in all hospitals.”

Venezuelan Minister of Defense Vladimir Padrino López said during an address broadcast on state-owned Venezolana de Televisión that the National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela will take control of the medical supply sector “to guarantee that these medicines and supplies get to the patient efficiently and are neatly distributed and assigned.”

One in three people admitted to public hospitals last year died, the government reports. The number of operational hospital beds has fallen by 40 percent since just 2014. And as the economy fails, the country is running short on 85 percent of medicine, according to the national drugstore trade group.

  16. Turkey arrests pro-Kurdish party leaders amid claims of internet shutdown

The two joint leaders of Turkey’s pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic party (HDP) have been detained along with at least 10 MPs because of their reluctance to give testimony for crimes linked to “terrorist propaganda”.

Police raided the Ankara home of co-leader Selahattin Demirta? and the house of co-leader Figen Yüksekda? in Diyarbak?r, the largest city in Turkey’s mainly Kurdish south-east, early on Friday.

Demirta? – a charismatic leader known as the “Kurdish Obama” by some admirers – and Yüksekda? had been targeted by several separate investigations over the past few months but this is the first time that either has been detained.

At least 10 other HDP parliamentarians were also held, lawyers said, in a major escalation of the government’s crackdown on its opponents in the wake of the failed coup on 15 July. Raids also took place in the south-eastern cities of Van and Bingöl.

The raids took place against a backdrop of rising criticism over the government’s purge, which earlier this week also saw the issuing of arrest warrants against editors and staff of Cumhuriyet, the main opposition newspaper in the country, and a fresh round of dismissals in the gendarmerie.

Ankara accuses the HDP’s politicians of harbouring sympathies for, and acting to further the interests of the Kurdistan Workers, party (PKK), a separatist group engaged in an insurgency against the government. Peace talks collapsed last year amid accusations that the PKK was rearming and as the ruling Justice and Development party (AKP) drifted towards allying with the nationalist bloc in parliament.

The purges of the police and media institutions are part of a crackdown on what the authorities say are individuals and organisations with alleged links to Fethullah Gülen, a US-based preacher that Turkey accuses of masterminding the coup.

The prime minister, Binali Y?ld?r?m, told reporters that elected officials who incite and encourage terrorism must face legal proceedings and that the MPs were detained because they had refused to give testimony.

But Turkey’s allies are likely to perceive the latest arrests as a further attempt by President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an to consolidate his power ahead of a parliamentary vote and referendum expected as early as next spring to revise the Turkish constitution and transform the country from a parliamentary democracy into a presidential system.
The leader of the nationalist bloc, Devlet Bahçeli, recently backed a referendum, making a vote on the issue more likely.

A widespread difficulty in reaching social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook as well as messaging app WhatsApp was also reported across Turkey after the detentions started at midnight.
Hours after the detentions began, Diyarbak?r was rocked by car bomb outside a police building that was blamed by authorities on PKK militants. Eight people were killed.
The Turkish justice minister, Bekir Bozda?, said on Friday that the detention of the HDP MPs was in line with the law in comments broadcast on state television.

Others detained included the prominent MP, S?rr? Süreyya Önder, who in the past has been a pointman for contacts with jailed PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. The head of the HDP’s delegation in the Turkish parliament, ?dris Baluken, was also held.

HDP is the third largest party in the 550-seat Turkish parliament, with 59 seats. Parliamentarians in Turkey normally enjoy immunity from prosecution, but the pro-Kurdish party’s immunity was lifted this year.

Turkey accuses the HDP of links to the PKK, which is deemed a terrorist organisation by the US, the EU and Turkey.

Police also raided the party’s head office in central Ankara. Television images showed party officials quarrelling with police during the raid, and a witness said police cars and armed vehicles had closed off the entrances to the street of the HDP headquarters.

“HDP call international community to react against Erdo?an regime’s coup,” the party said on Twitter, referring to President Erdo?an.

A group of protesters chanting slogans tried to reach the party offices, but were stopped by police before they could enter the street, a witness said. ….

  17. Turkish army chief holds ‘constructive’ talks with Russia on Syria: statement

The head of the Turkish armed forces, General Hulusi Akar, held “constructive” talks with his Russian counterparts on the situation in Syria’s Aleppo and the fight against Islamic State, the Turkish military said in a statement on Wednesday.

Russia and Turkey, a NATO member, back opposing sides in the Syrian conflict. In recent months they have been normalizing ties that broke down a year ago when Turkey shot down a Russian warplane along its border with Syria.

Akar visited Russia on Tuesday with Turkey’s intelligence chief to discuss military cooperation and regional developments.

“The subjects taken up in the talks were a settlement to the clashes in Syria and normalization of the situation in Aleppo as well as continuing to develop coordination between the two countries with the aim of … ending the threat from Daesh (Islamic State),” the Turkish statement said.

“The talks were held in a constructive atmosphere,” it said, without giving further details.

  18. Russia & Turkey contemplate free trade pact in 2017
The two countries want to restore trade and economic relations following a dispute over the downing of a Russian jet last year.

“Considering the process of normalization in our relations with Russia and the possibility of signing a free trade agreement in 2017, we expect growth in all the areas of the economy and trade,” said the minister.

He added the sides will continue to discuss trade in national currencies – the Turkish lira and the Russian ruble. “That will ensure mutual trade and expand its capabilities,” said Tufenkci.

According to the minister, Russia remains Turkey’s main trading partner and Moscow’s decision to lift the ban on some fruit imports from Turkey is a very important step in restoring relations.

Following the downing of a jet last November, Moscow imposed sanctions on Turkish goods, fruit and vegetables, as well as travel restrictions and reintroduced visa rules for Turkish people. As a result of the measures trade between the countries contracted 25 percent to $23 billion
Last month, Moscow partially lifted the ban on fruit from Turkey, allowing imports of oranges, tangerines, apricots, peaches, plums and other fruit. The ban on grapes, apples, pears, strawberries, as well as vegetables and poultry remains in force….

BBC – A US military trainer has been shot dead in an exchange of fire at an air base in Jordan, the US says.

An earlier statement from the Jordanian military said two US trainers had died when the car they were in failed to stop at the gate of the al-Jafr base and was fired upon by security forces.

But a US defence official said only one death had been confirmed.

At least two people were also wounded in the gunfire and taken to hospital, the US official said.

“One US service member was killed and two others were critically injured just after noon local time [10:00 GMT] in Jordan as they approached the gate to a training facility,” the official said.

An investigation was under way to determine the cause of the shooting, the Jordanians said.

Jordan is a close ally of the US and a member of the US-led coalition fighting the so-called Islamic State (IS) group in Syria and Iraq.

US forces have trained a small group of Syrian rebels in Jordan as well as Iraqi and Palestinian security forces.

Last November, a Jordanian police captain opened fire at a police training centre near the capital Amman, killing two Americans, a South African and two Jordanians.

The Jordanian government subsequently said the police captain had been a troubled individual but security sources said he was an IS supporter.

FOX News – 3 US servicemembers killed in shootout at air base in Jordan, source says

Three U.S. servicemembers were killed in a shootout Friday at the gates of an air base in southern Jordan, the military said, a U.S. official told Fox News.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the shooting.

The shots were fired as a car carrying the trainers tried to enter the al-Jafr base near the southern Jordanian town of Mann, said the military. A Jordanian officer was also wounded.

“Initial reports were that one (servicemember) was killed, two injured,” the official said. “The two injured servicemembers were transported to a hospital in Amman where they died.”

The U.S. Embassy in the Jordanian capital, Amman, said it had received reports about a security incident involving U.S. personnel and that it was in touch with Jordanian authorities.

Jordan also faces homegrown extremism, with hundreds of Jordanians fighting alongside IS militants in Iraq and Syria and several thousand more supporting the extremist group in the kingdom.

Last November, a Jordanian police captain opened fire in an international police training facility, killing two Americans and three others. The government subsequently portrayed the police captain as troubled.

The United States has spent millions of dollars to help the kingdom fortify its borders. For the West, any sign of instability in Jordan, a key ally, would be of great concern.

    • How many more US service men need to be murdered before the gov’t stops this intervention and lets the Islamic crazies kill themselves?
      GO! US oil production!
Hopefully, Trump will unleash our energy reserves, stop the Buffet trains from Canada and make America free again.

      • How many more US service men need to be murdered before the gov’t stops this intervention and lets the Islamic crazies kill themselves?

As Napoleon Bonaparte was fond of noting:

“Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”

Why we are preventing our Islamic enemies from slaughtering each other wholesale is just one more example of 0bama’s treason against America. It’s long overdue for Muslims to learn that they must be veeeeery careful about what they wish for, especially when it comes to installing Sharia law.

        • Obama is a Moslem who hates the US, he is using the US military (which he as degraded to being uncombat ready) to further the interest of the Islamic side he favors. Once you accept this fact all of his actions make sense.

  22. Soros spends $2 million to defeat Arpaio

The spending is part of the billionaire’s nationwide push on criminal justice and immigration reform.

George Soros has contributed $2 million to a group working to defeat Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona, the latest target of Soros’ big spending in local law enforcement campaigns over the past year.

The Soros-funded PAC, Maricopa Strong, will file campaign finance documents Friday showing Soros’ multimillion dollar investment against Arpaio, along with $500,000 from Texas energy billionaires Laura and John Arnold and $250,000 from Laurene Powell Jobs (widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs). The group had previously reported a $300,000 donation from Soros, one of the Democratic Party’s biggest donors.

Soros has spent millions in 2015 and 2016 funding campaigns to defeat local prosecutors around the country and elect new ones who back criminal justice reform measures. Soros-backed groups are currently spending big in three big-city district attorney races: Houston’s Harris County, where Soros has contributed over $1 million, according to local campaign finance filings; Gilpin and Jefferson counties outside Denver, where Soros has given about $1.5 million to unseat an incumbent; and Phoenix’s Maricopa County, where a Soros-funded PAC has also spent over $1 million against the Republican district attorney, Bill Montgomery.

But Soros’ spending against Arpaio, a high-profile liberal boogeyman, is his single biggest investment in a local race this year, as well as the billionaire’s first effort against a sheriff. It folds in immigration reform, another policy passion of Soros’, alongside criminal justice reform.

Arpaio made his name in Arizona and nationally as an opponent of illegal immigration. He was charged by federal prosecutors last month with contempt of court for violating an order to halt discriminatory policing practices.

Maricopa Strong has spent $2.9 million in the sheriff’s race, with the donations from Soros and others funding a flurry of mailers and TV ads boosting Democratic candidate Paul Penzone and hammering Arpaio. Soros has typically been the sole funder of his local outside-spending campaigns around the country, though Jobs and the Arnolds joined him in funding Maricopa Strong.

“Rapes, assaults, even child molestation remained uninvestigated while Arpaio focuses on his personal agenda,” the narrator says in one of the group’s TV ads. “Arpaio talks tough, but he doesn’t keep us safe.”

Arpaio’s campaign has attacked Soros’ efforts, calling him a “far-left globalist,” saying he is trying to buy a local race, and alleging that his group has broken disclosure rules, per The Arizona Republic.

“We made a major investment in the effort to defeat Joe Arpaio for two reasons,” said Michael Vachon, a Soros spokesperson. “First, Joe Arpaio has been a stain on the justice system in Arizona for more than two decades, violating civil rights and abusing his office. Second, his influence on the national conversation about immigration has been poisonous. This election is an opportunity to send a message: When matched on an even playing field, the values of justice and inclusion will defeat the politics of fear-mongering and intolerance.”

Arpaio has aired about $2.8 million of his own TV ads, according to a media-tracking source, and has leaned on his national name recognition to raise millions more for his campaign, while Penzone’s campaign has been less well-funded. But several polls this fall have shown Penzone leading Arpaio in his second attempt to unseat the sheriff.

“The persuasion campaign that Maricopa Strong is running is critical to the effort to defeat Joe Arpaio,” said Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego, who in 2012 co-founded a PAC to take on Arpaio and boost Penzone in the last sheriff’s race.

But that group, Citizens for Professional Law Enforcement, was able to raise only a quarter-million dollars, and Arpaio won reelection by 6 percentage points.

    • I saw a blurb on the local PBS station talking up the various gun control referendums being supported by the billionaire Micheal Bloomberg. They were saying they were vastly outspending the NRA/pro-gun groups. I think the gun controllers will win because not only do they have the money, but CA has sent all their leftist A-holes to adjacent states to destroy them. Just look at Colorado – Californication is a plague on the West and states like Oregon. What are resident’s analysis of the various gun control referendum at the moment? Demographics is destiny, and the Democrats have been busy flooding America with every single unproductive parasite they can find under a rock to import.

The War of a Million Cuts: The Struggle Against the Delegitimization of Israel and the Jews, and the Growth of New Anti-Semitism

The War of a Million Cuts – now available online to download – explains how the delegitimization of Israel and anti-Semitism can be fought.

The 500-page study describes the hateful messages of those who defame Israel and the Jews, details why anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism have the same core motifs, and discusses the main groups of inciters, including Muslim states, Muslims in the Western world, politicians, media, NGOs, academics, and many others.

    Lessons of the UNESCO Vote

The recent UNESCO resolution denying the Jewish link to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall in Jerusalem clarifies certain realities – that the international community readily capitulates to Palestinian whims because of its own cowardice. The Arab-Muslim bloc was prominent in voting in favor of the resolution, unfortunately proving, yet again, the “no partner” assertion by Israelis who are wary of negotiations with the Palestinians. After all, if this is what the Palestinians and Arabs believe, what point is there in talking?

Of the nations that voted in favor of the resolution, China’s and Russia’s voting patterns stand out. China still automatically sides with the Arabs in the international arena. While conversing recently with Chinese experts on the Middle East, I asked them to explain the gap between Beijing’s desire for improved relations with Israel and the realpolitik it continues to pursue. My interlocutors explained that China cannot ignore the power the Muslim bloc wields at the UN. For Russia, too, the Muslim bloc is larger than the bloc of countries that back Israel, so that is the bloc that receives consistent support.

Those who cultivate the pipe dream of substituting Israel’s long-term bond with the U.S. for an alliance with China and Russia should take a long, hard look at UNESCO’s resolutions. The policies of Moscow and Beijing lack the ethical basis that is so prevalent in U.S. policy.

    • This really has to be the most insane thing I have heard coming out of the UN.
Remind me again why the US is part of this corrupt org? Other than parking tickets and hotel/restaurant res. in NYC it seems to be a complete waste.
Way before DJT became a presidential candidate he said that the renovation of the UN was riddled with sweetheart deals and that he could bring the renovation in under half of what was budgeted.

    Trump’s true opponent

As these lines are being written it is Thursday morning in the US. Wikileaks announced hours ago that it is about to drop the mother lode of material it has gathered on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Previous Wikileaks document drops set the stage for FBI director James Comey’s letter to Congress last Friday, when he informed lawmakers that he has ordered his agents to reopen their probe of Clinton’s private email server, which he closed last July.

  27. Why Arab Liberals Had No Chance
The Arab Spring and the Islamic winter.
…already in the late 19th century there were Islamic scholars who sought “an appropriate internal religious response to the cultural and technological challenge posed by the West,” some of whom tried to find a theological basis for constitutional government. Their ideas gained little traction, and the recent “Arab Spring” has seen yet another failure of liberalism:

The history of the first Islamic reformists is important to understanding the problems inherent in realizing democracy and individual freedom in Islam. . . . Already at this early date, and even more so afterward, one could see “the tension between Arab culture, which stresses the collective, the tribe, and ties of blood, and Western liberalism,” Govrin writes, quoting an Arab liberal from our own time, Khaled al-Dakhil, who does not hesitate to state that in Arab society liberalism is still a set of foreign ideas discussed among a narrow elite. . . .

The concept of individual freedom has clear meaning in the West, but it has a more legalistic connotation in the Islamic world, referring to things such as exemption from taxes or from social limitations. According to Islam, the concept of individual freedom contradicts the concept of the sultan, who is unlimited and whose powers are based on sharia, the divine law. . . .

Today, it’s clear to [reformers] that religion will need to be separated from the state to implement democracy and its values, but only a few will say this out loud, as it is an attack on the foundations of Islam. We saw what happened, for instance, to Faraj Fawda, a liberal journalist and writer who was murdered, and to the philosophy professor Nasr Abu Zayd, who called for a new interpretation of Islam, was tried for heresy, was forced to divorce his wife, and fled to Holland. The work of the Arab liberals is a tragic, ongoing example of a Sisyphean effort with little hope of actually reaching the top of the mountain.

  28. European Media Jihad Against Geert Wilders
As they lose their grip, the political and media elites are getting desperate.

The mainstream media in Western Europe and North America isn’t even pretending to be an objective news source anymore; instead, “journalists” are working openly to quell what looks increasingly, on both sides of the Atlantic, like a popular revolution against the hegemony of the self-appointed political and media aristocracy that seems hell-bent on driving Western civilization over the cliff. And so it’s time for another round of their Two-Minutes Hate against Dutch politician and freedom fighter Geert Wilders.

Wilders has yet again gone on trial in the Netherlands for “hate speech,” and this time the case against him is especially flimsy: as Europe is roiled by the criminal activity of Muslim migrants, he is being accused of “hate speech” for saying that the massive influx of immigrants from Morocco (from which most of the Muslim migrants in the Netherlands come) has to be stopped.

This trial could very easily backfire on the Dutch inquisitors, and make Wilders more popular than ever with the people of the Netherlands and Europe in general, as they are increasingly fed up with the political and media elites’ forcing them to accept a massive influx of Muslim migrants that ensures a future only of civil strife, bloodshed, and Sharia oppression.

  29. Mosaic Pick: A Civil-Rights Group That Once Took Klansmen and Neo-Nazis to Court Now Hounds Liberal Muslims for “Blasphemy”

Founded in 1971 to combat white-supremacist groups, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) won a number of important legal battles against the Ku Klux Klan, various neo-Nazi groups, and other opponents of desegregation. Now it generates materials like its “field guide to anti-Muslim extremists”: a list of fifteen individuals that includes the historian Daniel Pipes, the apostate Muslim Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and the British Muslim critic of jihadism Maajid Nawaz. Among Nawaz’s crimes are having tweeted a cartoon portraying Jesus and Muhammad, “despite the fact that many Muslims see [such depictions] as blasphemous.” Nick Cohen comments on what he calls “the white left’s first fatwa”:

  30. Muslim Toronto Police Chaplain: Women Must Ask Permission to Leave House
    November 4, 2016
    Daniel Greenfield

Musleh Khan was hired by Toronto police to “bridge gaps” with the Muslim community. But the question is hardly ever asked whether those gaps should be bridged. Perhaps some gaps like this are best not bridged at all. Because on the other side of the bridge is a savage and medieval culture. And trying to bridge the gap means that we normalize its ugly abuses.

Musleh Khan is the new Muslim chaplain hired by the Toronto Police to bridge gaps between law enforcement and the Muslim community and to provide religious and moral support to Muslim officers. The police union is justifiably concerned about his comments, made in a 2013 webinar entitled “The Heart of the Home: The Rights and Responsibilities of a Wife.”

Those “responsibilities” include not leaving the house without getting her husband’s permission. So in response the usual “taken out of context” card is being played.

But really what should the Toronto police have expected from a Muslim chaplain? These are the sorts of views that are normative within Islam. They are law in the holy cities of Islam in Saudi Arabia.

  31. Assad Gloats as Obama Exits

What this interview suggests is that Assad is living in a state of denial, or, at least, doing a good job of putting up a front of denial for visitors. It is hard to know whether there is better or worse than if he were actually bragging about all the people that he is killing, wounding, and torturing. It suggests he is utterly disconnected from the horrors for which he is responsible. That, of course, means he has no compunctions about inflicting more horrors in the future.

The interview made plain that he is not going anywhere: “He promised that a new era of openness and dialogue was underway in Syria and said that he was thinking ahead about how to modernize Syrians’ mentality after a war that he believed his forces were assured of winning. Mr. Assad ruled out political changes until then and declared that he planned to remain president at least until his third seven-year term ends in 2021.”
There is little reason at the moment to doubt that he can last until 2021 and beyond–even if he cannot control the entire country by then, he has managed to consolidate his rule over a rump portion. Now his Russian and Iranian allies are hell-bent on destroying the last bastion of regime resistance in Aleppo. Russia has been warning that it will end a short moratorium on bombing Aleppo on Friday.

The only force capable of arresting the Assad-Iran-Russia war machine is the United States. Our aircraft continue to fly over Syria bombing ISIS positions, but they leave the worst perpetrators of war crimes untouched. And that is unlikely to change as long as President Obama remains in office. No wonder Bashar Assad is sitting pretty. He will outlast the American president who called for his overthrow.

  32. Lame-duck Obama’s last hurrah

U.S. President Barack Obama is rumored to be planning a lame-duck anti-Israel move after the election of his successor next Tuesday, and before the handing over of his White House keys in January. In other words, there is reason to believe that the outgoing leader-from-behind of the free world is set to recognize a Palestinian state.
    […]
If President Obama’s lame-duck period includes honoring such animals by granting them even greater ill-deserved legitimacy, his last hurrah against Israel will be a loud one. If Hillary Clinton ends up taking his place in the Oval Office, the cacophony will overwhelm.

  33. Europe’s New Blasphemy Courts

    by Douglas Murray
    November 4, 2016 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9253/europe-blasphemy-courts

Europe is currently seeing the reintroduction of blasphemy laws through both the front and back doors. In Britain, the gymnast Louis Smith has just been suspended for two months by British Gymnastics. This 27-year old sportsman’s career has been put on hold, and potentially ruined, not because of anything to do with athletics but because of something to do with Islam.

Last month a video emerged online of the four-time Olympic medal-winner and a friend getting up to drunken antics after a wedding. The video — taken on Smith’s phone in the early hours of the morning — showed a friend taking a rug off a wall and doing an imitation of Islamic prayer rituals. When the video from Smith’s phone ended up in the hands of a newspaper, there was an immediate investigation, press castigation and public humiliation for the young athlete. Smith — who is himself of mixed race — was forced to parade on daytime television in Britain and deny that he is a racist, bigot or xenophobe. Notoriously liberal figures from the UK media queued up to berate him for getting drunk or for even thinking of taking part in any mockery of religion. This in a country in which Monty Python’s Life of Brian is regularly voted the nation’s favourite comic movie.

After an “investigation,” the British sports authority has now deemed Smith’s behaviour to warrant a removal of funding and a two-month ban from sport. This is the re-entry of blasphemy laws through the back door, where newspapers, daytime chat-shows and sports authorities decide between them that one religion is worthy of particular protection. They do so because they take the religion of Islam uniquely on its own estimation and believe, as well as fear, the warnings of the Islamic blasphemy-police worldwide.

  34. Algerian Thief Lynched by Mob

A suspected Algerian thief has been publicly lynched in a souk in Akbou in Kbaylie, north of Algeria, following his attempt to steal an elder.

In a video circulating widely on social media, the suspect appears stripped and handcuffed, hung upside down on a wall surrounded by a large crowd of people. He can be heard yelling out in apparent pain, calling for people to save him.

One eyewitness offered the following description, “The suspected had been thrashed by a group of people until the authorities intervened to settle the situation.”

In reality, the three-minute video actually shows authorities watching the suspected hung without taking any initiative to rescue him.

Understandably, the incident has caused an uproar among social media users who claim that the suspect had succumbed to the punishment and died. In response, the Algerian authorities issued a clear communiqué to the contrary, “refuting the information that circulates about the death of the suspected,” adding that “he is in a stable health after he received the necessary treatment and it is set to leave the hospital on Tuesday.”

This is not the first incidence of mob justice reported in Algeria. Just last week, a group from Jijel, east of Algeria, caught a young thief red-handed and subjected him to a vicious beating before handing him over to the authorities.

    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/728929/Merkel-Germany-immigration-was-wrong-says-French-PM

“ANGELA Merkel has been blasted by France’s Prime Minister who said she was “wrong” to take in hundreds of thousands of migrants.

Manuel Valls said France’s “strict” immigration policy was far more efficient than the German Chancellor’s approach to immigration.

The 54-year-old said government officials were right to tighten immigration laws and step up border controls to stem the tide of migrants streaming into France last year.

He said: “Angela Merkel was wrong to take in hundreds of thousands of refugees. It’s not even an option for France, we simply wouldn’t cope.

“We will take in as many migrants as we possibly can, but not that many. And we will look after the people we welcome well.”

France’s socialist Prime Minister also vowed the ‘Jungle’ migrants will become full-fledged members of society and would learn to speak fluent French.

The prediction comes less than one week after the destruction of the infamous Calais refugee camp…”

A spate of shocking terror attacks on French soil in recent years has left many in France fearful.

As a result there has a been a surge in the number of people joining gun clubs and looking to arm themselves.

An investigation by the Nouvel Observateur website found that the number of people signing up to become licensed members at shooting clubs has risen 38 percent in five years.

And in the past year alone there has been a 10 percent increase, believed to be down to the spate of terror attacks that began with the massacre at Charlie Hebdo in January 2015…”
