Richard: This really isn’t as scary as the paper is making it sound, the Soviet Union never accepted the idea of Mutually Assured Destruction. While the left in the west convinced people that you could never survive a nuclear attack so there was no reason to try the Soviets keep building shelters and training people on how to survive a nuclear strike. Modern day Russia is just continuing that preparation and training.
Personally I find the Russian attitude more moral then the idea of the governments doing nothing to help their citizens survive.

One that fits the latter category centers on an exchange between Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta and Neera Tanden, of the hard-left Center for American Progress, concerning an apparent leak that needed — shall we say? — plugging?

Terrorism trial against four Chechen begins in Bialymstok, Poland.
Four Chechens go on trial on terrorism-related charges., they face charges of supporting ISIS with money, recruitment and material help. The group was active in 2014 in Bialymstok, Lomza, Warszawa and in Turkey.
The process will be open despite the requests for closed process by both defense attorney and by the prosecution.
All four Chechen were in Poland legally, as refugees.

Flashback: Clinton administration reacted to Bush win over Gore by causing $14K in damages to WH
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said she hopes GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump will gracefullt accept the election results if he loses, allowing for a seamless transition. Yet, former President Bill Clinton’s administration left the White House in less than optimal conditions when former President George W. Bush was elected in 2000.
Clinton staffers, who were angry over Al Gore’s loss to Bush, intentionally created somewhere between $13,000 and $14,000 in damages, a 2002 report by The Government Accountability Office shows. The report confirmed that the acts of “theft, vandalism, and pranks” occurred shortly after the election results were announced.
Some of the most costly destruction included $4,850 spent to replace keyboards that had the letter “W” ripped off, $2,040 on cell phones that were destroyed or could not be located, and $1,150 spent on professional cleaning services.
Graffiti on walls and furniture included messages like “Hail to the Thief” written on desk drawers and “What W did to democracy, you are about to do in here” penned in the men’s restroom.
Then-Democratic National Committee spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri, who now works for Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, downplayed the damages after the report was published.

Obama’s White House Kept List of Muslims For Top Jobs
This sort of short listing is common where government offices have to be filled around the world and for many different groups.
The Obama administration collected lists of Muslim candidates for jobs in the Obama administration, according to previously unseen emails sent to the chair of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign John Podesta and released by Wikileaks. Podesta was also a former chief of staff for President Bill Clinton.
Dating from 2008, the email refers to a list of Muslim leaders vetted for top jobs within the administration (it does not provide the list). The author, Preeta Bansal, adds three points by way of explanation, the first of which is as follows:
“In the candidates for top jobs, I excluded those with some Arab American background but who are not Muslim (e.g., George Mitchell). Many Lebanese Americans, for example, are Christian. In the last list (of outside boards/commissions), most who are listed appear to be Muslim American, except that a handful (where noted) may be Arab American but of uncertain religion (esp. Christian).”

This paragraph has drawn the ire of commentators who see this as evidence that Obama’s White House was deliberately excluding Christians from senior positions. While that does seem to have been the case where this list is concerned, we do not know who, if anyone, was hired on the basis of this list.

Federal Government Drops Counter-Extremism Scheme
A federal scheme to establish counseling teams to engage with youths at risk of radicalization was dropped after objections from Muslim groups.
An FBI-led program to establish “shared responsibility committees” to intervene at an early stage to prevent or counteract radicalization was canceled, according to USA Today. The committees would have included mental health workers, clergy and counselors in local communities.
Several pilot schemes were reportedly set up in New Jersey and several selected cities to provide support and rehabilitation for those at risk. The committees would provide psychiatric care, help deal with family or anger issues and other considerations not requiring a law-enforcement response.
Yet Muslim civil society leaders pushed back against the scheme, saying it risked discrediting the community leaders involved, thus alienating them from the very people they would need to talk to for the scheme to work.
“So many concerns were raised about how this would be structured and how would this play out and what would this look like,” Maya Berry, executive director of the Arab American Institute told media. “The answers were not very good.”
Similar concerns about government involvement in civilian counter-extremism efforts were raised in other places, such as the UK. There the government’s “Prevent” strategy has been strongly criticized over fears it turns clergy into spies against their own community.
In December 2015, a coalition of imams from East London accused the government’s strategy of “spying on our young people” and “increasing division and to a breakdown of trust in schools and colleges.”

Father Pardons Self for Honor Killing Daughter; Set Free
A new law in Pakistan mandates a life sentence for honor killing, but the accused — with the consent of the judge –was able make use of a loophole.
A father who murdered his daughter in an honor killing in Pakistan has pardoned himself and his accomplices and been acquitted by a court due to a legal loophole.
Faqeer Muhammad, his son and a nephew murdered his daughter, Kiran Bibi, and her alleged loved, Ghulam Abbas “to save the family’s honor” in 2014.
Abbas’ mother, Azmat Bibi, pressed charges against the three murders, but later she requested that the charges be registered as a “compoundable” offense. A compoundable offense is a legal status that allows the complainant to enter into a compromise and agree to have the charges dropped against the accused.
The court agreed that the charges would be registered as a compoundable after Azmat and her son pardoned the accused, saying they did not object to an acquittal, and waived their rights to qisas (retribution) and diyat (blood money).
It is unknown whether or not Azmat and her son were coerced into making such a request to the court.
As the legal heirs to their daughter, Faqeer and his wife also stated to the court that they “forgave the accused.”
Subsequently, the judge ruled that the charges had become “groundless” and that since “there is no chance of conviction at all,” he acquitted the accused.

Interviews Give Insight into Islamic State’s Misogynistic Views
New interviews aim to try to gain some understanding as to why ISIS members view women as holding a lower status.
By now it probably comes as no surprise that Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) members are not interested in treating women who are outside their particular “faith” as fellow humans, let alone equals.
But this kind of treatment does not end there. It is also true of the female members of ISIS. Recent interviews conducted by journalist Sulome Anderson shed light on just how exactly ISIS members view women and what the experience is like of those women who are captured by them.
An ISIS member interviewed by Anderson who currently sits in prison in Kirkuk, Iraq said of his wife, “My wife completely covered her body and face and never left the house without me…She is forbidden from going anywhere without me.”
He told Anderson that his wife was supposed to meet him in Kirkuk, where he was meant to join a sleeper cell, but he was arrested. Now, having been incarcerated for more than four months, she is likely married to someone else – something that is allowed by Islamic law (sharia) as interpreted by ISIS.
But he doesn’t stop there. When asked how his wife may feel about this, he stated, “[My wife] is just a woman, like every other woman…Women exist to be married and have children. In jihad, feelings do not matter. Women survive; they do not live.”

Where are the “Human Rights” Groups?
Children have long become an integral part of “military” parades held in the Gaza Strip by various Palestinian groups. But this form of child abuse does not seem to bother human rights organizations or the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), whose declared goal is to “work for a world in which every child has a fair chance in life and a right to survive, thrive and fulfill their potential — to the benefit of a better world.” It seems that UNICEF does not believe that its mandate extends to Palestinian children, who are exploited to serve the interests of Islamist groups.
In the Gaza Strip, children are taught not only to hate Israel, but also to prepare themselves for jihad (holy war) against the “Zionist enemy.” Hamas, the Islamic Jihad Movement, and other radical groups see children as future “soldiers” in the war to eliminate Israel. They raise children to regard suicide bombers and jihadis as role models.
Children in this world do not dream about becoming doctors, pilots or engineers. Rather, they dream of destroying Israel and “liberating Palestine.” In fact, an entire generation of Palestinians, particularly those in the Gaza Strip, has been raised on the glorification of suicide bombers and anyone who kills a Jew. With enough sacrifices, they are taught, the destruction of Israel is not a far-fetched dream. They alone embody the future hope of the Palestinians to see Israel removed from the face of the earth. Forget becoming a physician: their job is to continue what their fathers failed to achieve.

Rest assured that there is no small measure of irony in how Donald Trump’s conspicuous diplomatic incompetence could, just as easily, confer upon him a substantial degree of immunity (earned or not) to the foregoing roster of Politically Correct charges.

Samer Majzoub from Quebec has initiated an official Government of Canada petition to the House of Commons. The sponsor of the petition is Liberal Member of Parliament Frank Baylis. The petition calls upon the government to condemn all forms of Islamophobia.
Samer Majzoub self identifies as being part of multiple Islamist (extremist) organization in Quebec, including the (in)famous Al-Rawdaw Mosque[1] and the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC). MAC itself states that they follow the teachings of Hassan Banna and the Muslim Brotherhood. The Mayor of London’s “My Side”
Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, addressed the Chicago Council on Global Affairs (CCGA) on September 15. Although his topic was “The Breakdown of Social Integration – The Challenge of Our Age,” some crucial components of that challenge were notably absent from his presentation.
Even though Mayor Khan said he believes that, “London is the powerhouse” for his country and is “proud that London was the only region in England to vote to remain in the European Union” (some boroughs voted 80% “Remain”), when it came to the United Kingdom as a whole, he said that “my side” lost the referendum.
That strikes one as an odd way for the mayor of any city to talk. Isn’t he the Mayor of all of London? Aren’t the Londoners who voted for Brexit included on his “side”?

Mayor Khan claimed that for “Leave” voters, “immigration was the number one issue.” However, Lord Ashcroft’s mega-poll says otherwise. According to it, the number one issue for “Leave” (pro-Brexit) voters across Britain was “the principle that decisions about the UK should be taken in the UK.”
In other words, the number one reason they backed Brexit was self-determination. “Leave” voters did not like European Union officials –people they did not elect — making laws that could overrule laws passed by British Parliament. Immigration and trade concerns were apparently less important.

Accordingly, the organization was founded “as a way to continuously lobby for the removal of sanctions against Iran and to promote Iran’s foreign policy, while combating the pro-Israel sentiment in America, according to documents from a Cyprus convention that featured the two men.”

Angry locals are protesting about a Bosnian town built by Middle Eastern investors which has Arabic as its ‘official’ language – and where locals can only enter if they work as servants.
The 160 homes have been constructed in a luxury enclave near Tarcin, five miles west of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo.
But furious locals say that their only way of accessing the area is through being hired as servants or cleaners – and claim most of the homes contain the wives of wealthy businessmen.
The houses – marketed only in Kuwait – are being sold for 150,000 euros (£133,000).
Adverts for the estate call Bosnia a Muslim country ‘gifted with beautiful nature by Allah.’
Bosnia-Herzegovina was racked by a sectarian civil war 20 years ago when the Muslim Bosnians – who converted to Islam during the rule of the Ottoman Empire – clashed with ethnic Serbs and ethnic Croats.
Nearly 60,000 people died, including 8,000 Muslim Bosniaks slaughtered by the Serbs at Srebrenica.
The complex is surrounded by heavy security, gates and high walls.
It was also reported that some women stay there all year round with their children, while their husbands are only occasional visitors.
One estate worker told local media: ‘The owners do not want to mix with the local population.
‘They have their own traditions when it comes to clothing, behaviour and prayer, and do not want people staring at them.’
Now developers are reportedly planning to double the size of the private village.

These fighters, many of whom settled in Bosnia, embraced a radical version of Islam that Bosnia’s indigenous Islamic community opposes.

The media is priming Donald Trump supporters for a loss
Since the final presidential debate last week, many news outlets have been delivering an unvarnished message to Donald Trump supporters: Your candidate is virtually certain to lose the election Nov. 8.
“Clinton probably finished off Trump last night,” FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver wrote the day after the debate. “Hillary Clinton is almost certain to be president,” Guardian columnist and former New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson added.
A day later, the Times’s Upshot blog increased Clinton’s chances of winning to 93 percent, an all-time high. On Monday, Politico’s Ben Schreckinger wrote that “Donald Trump’s path to an election night win is almost entirely closed.” Here at The Fix, Chris Cillizza and Aaron Blake wrote that “Donald Trump’s chances of winning are approaching zero.”
These are accurate, statistically sound statements. But they are something else, too. Declarations that Trump is highly unlikely to win also serve as counters to the Republican nominee’s warning that the “rigged” election could be “stolen from us.”

During Hillary Clinton’s first presidential campaign, Neera Tanden was described as “the wonk behind Hillary.” A close associate of the Clintons, Tanden helped shape policy for both Bill and Hillary. Then she switched to playing that role for Obama.
While Hillary’s email scandal broke, Tanden was in charge of the Center for American Progress, a radical left-wing group that had been described as “Obama’s Idea Factory.” And she was chatting with John Podesta, the top Clintonite who had founded CAP. Podesta had co-chaired the Obama-Biden Transition Project. Neera Tanden would co-chair the Hillary-Kaine Transition Project under Podesta who headed up Hillary’s presidential campaign. Podesta had helped shape the last eight years of national politics through Obama and Tanden looked forward to shaping the next eight under Hillary.
And what did they think of Hillary? Did they believe their defenses of her wrongdoing?
Podesta and Tanden ridiculed her associates for the cover-up. “Why didn’t they get this stuff out like 18 months ago? So crazy,” she wondered. “Unbelievable,” Podesta wrote. “They wanted to get away with it.”
Since the early days of the email scandal, we’ve been treated to the sordid rituals of feigned innocence. The issue was a non-issue, Clinton surrogates were quick to assure us. And even if it was, no one did anything wrong. The flies on the wall knew better though and now we can all be the flies on the wall.

In the third Hillary-related video released by ACORN slayer James O’Keefe and his Project Veritas Action Fund this past Sunday (Oct. 23), Clinton is directly implicated in a scheme to use Donald Duck to mock Trump and troll his supporters at Trump campaign rallies.
Among Disney cartoon characters Donald Duck was a natural choice. After all, his name used to appear regularly on voter registration documents when Bill and Hillary Clinton’s favorite community organizing group, the now-defunct ACORN, hired hobos and felons to go on voter-registration drives.

Realism About the Jihad Threat in Oklahoma
Oklahoma State Rep. John Bennett ventures where few dare to tread.
In an age of near-universal denial and willful ignorance at the highest levels about the ideological roots, nature and magnitude of the jihad threat, it is as unusual as it is refreshing to find lawmakers at any level who are willing to approach the problem honestly. State Representative John Bennett of Oklahoma, a Marine and combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, is one of an all-too-rare breed.
On Tuesday, Bennett held an “Interim Study” on “the current threat posed by radical Islam and the effect that Shariah Law, the Muslim Brotherhood and jihadist indoctrination have in the radicalization process in Oklahoma and America.” In his request to hold this study, he explained: “This will be a study of the current threat posed by radical Islam and the effect that Shariah Law, the Muslim Brotherhood and jihadist indoctrination have in the radicalization process in Oklahoma and America.”
This kind of study should have been held not just in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, but in the U.S. House, and Senate as well. That such an idea is inconceivable is an indication of the fix we’re in. And the situation is only marginally better in Oklahoma: nowadays the misinformation and disinformation about what we’re up against is so universal that anywhere the truth is told about this threat, there is significant pushback from the allies and enablers of jihad and Islamic supremacism.

New Body-Cam Video Shows Police Finding Chelsea Bombing Suspect Ahmad Rahimi
Police stumbled upon Ahmad Khan Rahimi, the man charged with setting off bombs in New Jersey and New York last month, while he was sleeping in the doorway of a building, according to newly released police body camera video.
Prosecutors in New Jersey on Wednesday released the video, which shows Rahimi curled up outside a bar in Linden, N.J., moments before he allegedly opened fire on officers on Sept. 19.
In the video, a police officer in his patrol car shouts, “You can’t be sleeping on somebody’s door.” The officer then gets out of the vehicle and asks Rahimi why he’s there.
Rahimi responds by giving a false name and says he’s homeless.
“I lost my job and couldn’t pay my rent,” Rahimi says in the video, NBC New York reported.
The video ends as the officer calls more police to the scene — before the gunfire begins.

Groups like ISIS and al Qaeda are the latest manifestation of a dangerous strain of totalitarian thinking that rejects and subordinates all universal norms and values to a single, violent, all-encompassing dogma. It is a widely shared belief that the threat of violent extremism is caused primarily by religious extremism — above racism, poverty, military actions by foreign governments and human rights abuses. The polling shows that both people who identify as religious, and those who don’t, believe the problem lies with religious ideology.
This is significant and a real opportunity. It is up to governments, civil society groups and others to use this support to develop a unified, global response.
We need a new global alliance, within Islam and outside of it, to lead this movement against extremism. Muslim motivation lies in a desire to help reclaim their peaceful religion from the fanatics who abuse it. They are the first victims and are on the frontline battling extremism.
This is not a war with Islam. To accept that is to accept the terms set out by ISIS, al Qaeda and some of the far-right of Western politics. We must expose the lie that “the West” is at war with Islam. The West is home to millions of Muslims…”

Baroness Tonge quit the Liberal Democrats yesterday after The Times reported that she had hosted a meeting where Jews were blamed for the Holocaust.
After leaving the party, which she joined in 1959, she pointed the finger at the Israeli embassy, saying it liked to be “in control of things”.
Lady Tonge has repeatedly run into trouble for anti-Israel outbursts and was nicknamed Jihad Jenny for sympathising with suicide bombers.
She announced that she had left at about the same time as the party said it was suspending her. “I don’t want the party to be embarrassed by my actions…”
