The US Second Amendment reads “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”
The connection between the People keeping and bearing arms, the need for a well-regulated militia and the security of a free state are inextricable.
There has been considerable discussion of what “Well-regulated” means, but it is safe enough to say that it does not mean “ùnregulated.” I would submit that anyone who owns a firearm needs minimally to make that possession known to the authority representing the local militia. Anyone who does not is in violation of the law. Conceivably this could be further construed as violation of martial law.
According to the Second Amendment, only the People have the right to keep and bear arms. This excludes non-citizens. Non-citizens in possession of firearms are in violation of the law and ought to be subject to prosecution, incarceration and deportation. Citizens who are complicit ought to be subjected to prosecution and incarceration.
The sheriff is right: We’re in for some rough times ahead. Fortunately, the Founding Fathers anticipated this day. A free, law-abiding people knows how to speak its mind and knows its obligation to its fellow-citizens. These two God-given rights are being undermined. That must not happen.

If Obama tries to do anything to disarm the American public he will discover just what it takes to cause a revolution, the shooting in the first American revolution started when the British Government tried to confiscate a privately owned arsenal. From what I am reading it looks like the Second American revolution will start the same war.
Remember that it takes the support of about 5% of the people to carry out a long term terror campaign but a successful revolution requires between 25% to 33% of the people supporting it. The percentages remain the same in all nations.
