One of the bitter ironies of the attempt to wake up the citizens of Western democracies of the threat of Islam, is that in many cases we both are less prone to reason than the Muslims are, as well as prone to a kind of racism of lowered expectations. This gives Islam a huge tactical advantage.
One constant theme I see in terms of those who wish to distance Islamic atrocities and horror for Islam itself is ‘the groundless statement’ made from all sides. Presidents, Prime Ministers and imams alike stand on a podium and make a declaration about how a given act, justified by Koran, consistent with Islamic history and to the purpose of Islamic manifest destiny is not, in fact, Islamic but is the work of whatever agency they want to attribute it to.

Notice that there is no scriptural basis for these fatwas. They are mere statements (other than point 7, which is flexible and likely abrogated) Imagine if we fought Nazism by stating that Nazi persecution and genocide of Jews was not true Nazism and that the Nazis in fact was always truly a tolerant and freedom loving ideology and then re-tasked NASA to do NAZI outreach. (Yes I am aware of the irony of NASA rocket scientists and their dubious origins thanks!) Or imagine if Reagan fought the communists by saying that true communism was always about people using the invisible hand of the market to value themselves and their work but it had been hijacked by a few ‘extremists’.
In fact it is likely that more jihadis are made by this paper thin deception than by stating the truth about Islam.
Imagine yourself to be a young muslim male in the West. You hear these statements by what are likely government sponsored Imams. Something Anjem Choudary pointed out in a number of interviews actually. You then pick up some Islamic scripture. Say, the Koran. Then maybe a history book about Islam and how it spread and when and why. Then, still being unsure, you pick up a book of Tasfirs to check the meaning of certain passages of Koran, like 90% of it which contradicts the statements by all these leaders and find that no, what Koran clearly states is exactly what you thought it was.
Which way will you go?
We know the answer already by the number of European and North American muslims fighting for the Islamic State now.
It is an insult to both the secular world and the Islamic one to pretend that Islam is something we want it to be and not what it is. It is insulting because anyone who is asked to believe that Islam is what our leader’s statements say it is, and who is muslim by heritage, will know instantly or after a few hours of reading that he is being lied to.
At the end of the day there is only one way to fight this. And that is to know what Islam is, admit it, and confront it. Try making an argument to young Muslims that Islam is not a good way to structure a society. Persuade them into something benevolent. Show them the obvious in terms of how non-Muslim societies work and compare it to how Muslim societies do not. This is how ideas have spread throughout history.
But wishing it is something else and making baseless statements insisting that it is, only works to the enemies advantage and will create more jihadis.
How Ironic is it then that we who hold the ancestral deed to reason itself and classical thought should resort to the most feeble of logical fallacies to defend freedom and logic while so many Muslims who see through this deception use logic to defend supernaturalism, brutality, oppression and harsh theocracy.

Tom Holland ought to have known better than to fall for that. He backs away from it a bit subsequently, but then says:

We might get this generation of Muslims to go along with this prescription, knowing that they are still a minority. But a more numerous future generation will go back to the unchanging traditions of the Koran. And as they will be a near majority by then, our civilisation will die.
Muslim immigration has to be reversed. I don’t see what other option there is left. The only question is how to achieve it without sacrificing our values.
Yes and for them we will have to do something different. We had to fight the Nazis and we fought the communists and one does what one has to do to survive. We are fighting muslims here and there and will continue to do so. But it would be faster and better and less bloody if we were truthful to ourselves and each other about the nature of the fight. Guys like Choudary must rack em up when people compare notes with his half BS to government full BS.
The first thing we need to do is to retakee the educational systems in all western nations so we can teach true history and western values to our kids rather then teach that the west is evil.

If you use the sound reasoning of Sam Harris et al. they will point over your shoulder, “what about those other goddists?” And you look, and you see these are baying for retribution and deportation of Muslims, an eye for an eye. And you acknowledge the Muslim’s argument, that they themselves brought Mohammad into the fold through their blindness to wobbly-woo superstition under an army of priests, so why can’t they take their rightful place alongside them and make them pay the jizya? It is what they were created for he believes. And you can’t argue, for they all declare the ‘fear of God’ brings them to wisdom, and Allah is the most fearful of all.

And you can only point to America in the 1950s, where the Jews had segregation and thrived, and the Blacks… well they thrive today as one of many neutered, feminized, demoralized and infantalized Preferential Groups baying at “White Privilege”.

From royals into despots, governments into dictatorships, republics into Emperor-ships. You must always divide the governments into threes – between the judicial, legislator and Executor – so it will not be able to attack you from three sides like say your car numberplate being used by the police for crime, your numberplate for paying up your insurance, safety inspection and road tax, your numberplate to know wherever you are. A divided government serving the people, would never be allowed to do. A centralized Socialist State that the people serve, can with impunity. So you have to divided it and keep the beast down or else it will divide you into identities of Race, Creed and Color.
The Roman Church divided individuals into conforming to God, Spirit and Jesus, turning them into looking outside themselves for answers, (Daily Mail News, Female and Celebrity mind-conditioning), into miserable slaves, singing for the time they will become ‘free indeed’.
